Saul Bass was a graphic designer and filmmaker known for his title sequences and film posters. He created logos for major American companies and began working in Hollywood, creating title sequences for films by Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, and others. Bass also worked as a visual consultant and storyboarded scenes, including the famous shower scene in Psycho. He later directed the documentary Why Man Creates, which won an Oscar. While stepping back from title sequences in later decades, Bass continued to influence other artists and his style was featured in the openings for Catch Me If You Can and Casino Royale.
