Physical Therapist Papers
The career that I chose to researched was a physical therapist. Physical therapist are highly
educated, licensed health care professionals who can help patients reduce pain. Physical therapist
also improve or restore mobility in many cases without expensive surgery and often reducing the
need for long term use of prescription medications and their side effects. There were many steps
taken to complete research on this career.
With the requirement of research needed I had to choose from which sources to obtain information
from on my occupation. I made a list about important facts, eliminating sources that were not
beneficial. The internet is always a dependable source for finding valuable information. That being

Emperors of the Roman Empire
Emperors In Ancient Rome, the government was controlled by an emperor starting with Julius
Caesar. After his death, men jockeyed for power throughout the next several centuries. Each
emperor had his own strengths and weaknesses which made them either beloved or hated by
their people. If loyalty to the people and doing what is best for the citizens of the nation or state
is the most important criteria on which to judge an emperor, then the success or failure of the
emperor can be judged by comparing them to one another. However, it is not enough to be loved
by the general public, as is evident in the case of some emperors; the leader must also be able to
maintain communication and cooperation with the other members of the government in order
to form a cohesive team to serve the people. Three of the most famous emperors who had a
major impact on the Roman Empire and the Roman people are Julius Caesar, Augustus Caesar,
and Caligula. Julius Caesar ruled Rome when the empire was still a Republic with Senators and
other politicians holding equal power to the one man in charge. Caesar was beloved by the
people and his role as emperor was one that was given to him by the people of Rome, much to the
chagrin of the Senators. Many of his fellow politicians felt this gave Caesar far too much power
over them. Rather than allow for their Republic to become an Empire ruled by a dictator in
perpetuity (Suetonius 25). Julius Caesar was not political enough when he accepted this

A Brief Note On Remote Sensing And Gis Technologies
3.2 Incorporation of Remote Sensing Remote sensing and GIS technologies were initially
developed for different purposes. However, both these resources can provide information about
the earth s natural resources. Advancements in computer hardware and software technology now
make it possible for data from these sources to be easily integrated. Most GIS software packages
allow remotely sensed data to be imported, or at least viewed, within the software application.
This ability allows the analyst to overlay remote sensing data layers with other 5 spatial data
layers. Analysts use remotely sensed imagery with GIS data sets for a variety of reasons,
including providing a continuous regional view of the areas and extracting GIS data layers,
such as contours or building footprints 3.3 Use of GIS to Create Maps A map can be worth a
thousand words. If you re looking for ways to create maps or to display geographic data, there are
a number of software package that can help, from free ones to complex and powerful ones. We
summarize the tools recommended by five nonprofit experts. Imagine that you want to show your
constituents where they can buy fair trade coffee, or represent to decision makers the lack of
doctors in a particular region of town. Perhaps you want to communicate the disparities of housing
levels and heath indicators across different counties, or show the impact of polluted rivers on the
surrounding environment. These things are hard to effectively convey in writing,

Animal Paper
The Badger
The American badger is found in regions of North America from southern Canada and down
through Mexico. They usually stick to open grassland ranges.
Badgers Diet Badgers are carnivorous animals eating mostly pocket gophers, prairie dogs, ground
squirrels, pika, woodrats and kangaroo rats. They usually do this by digging the prey out of the
ground in their dens or chasing them down.
Abiotic Effect
American badgers have an effect on the abiotic environment with their digging. They dig to build
dens, and catch prey. Any badgeryou see has more than likely dug a hole. Badger holes are pretty
good size holes because of their size and to hold up their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Some of the animals in the badger s diet include woodrats, prairie dogs, kangaroo rats, pika,
pocket gophers, marmots, moles, ground squirrels, deer mice, and voles. The badger is also a
huge consumer of snakes. In South Dakota the badger is the most dominant predator of
rattlesnakes, making the badger very important to the ecosystem. They also prey on ground
nesting birds like burrowing owls, and bank swallow. Some of the smaller things the badger preys
on would be insects such as bees, and reptiles like lizards, and fish and skunks.
Mutualism:
The coyote and badger is a great example of mutualism. Coyotes normally don t hunt in packs or in
tight knit groups but is often found hunting with the badger. The best example would be hunting in
prairie dog fields. The coyote takes the prairie dogs on the ground while scaring other dogs into
their holes where the badger is. When the badger hunts underground catching it s prey it also
scares dogs up to the ground where the coyote is. So basically the badger and coyote work
together to corner up the prairie dogs and eat until they get their fill.

The True American Character Analysis
Throughout The True American, Mr. Giridharadas depicted the early life of Raisuddin Bhuiyan
when he still Bangladesh. He described the young Muslim man as a persistent evolutionary
dreamer; the type of dreamer that always had a dream but said dream would likely change for a
better one. This foreshadowed that later in the book Rais dreams would blossom into a passion
for a variety of suitable causes. Giridharadas illustrated Rais s life in a way that was interesting
and informative. Rais s older brother applied for the Sylhet Cadet College. With great dismay,
especially for Rais s mother, Rais s brother was not admitted. After dedicated studying and
determination, Rais applied when he was old enough. Unlike his brother, Rais was accepted.

The Transition Of Medieval And Modern Times
The transition of Medieval to Modern happened over a long period of time. The middle ages
marked a dark time in Europe s history, and the people were anxious to get out. The Renaissance
began, and art emerged to create a brighter society. During the Reformation, the country shifted
away from the Roman Catholic Church, and many Protestant religions emerged. The Scientific
Revolution also marked a change in medical to modern by creating new ways to look at the world
and mathematics. The Age of Discovery marked yet another change in Medical to modern Europe
when new technologies emerged in order to navigate around the world. Along with many other
rulers, King Louis XIV changed France into a country looking to expand, which differed from...

Sfumato used smokiness, and the colors within the painting merging together. It was emotion

renaissance, the Renaissance Art helped shift Europe out of the medieval times and into a more
modern lifestyle. The reformation was a key factor in the transition of medical to modern Europe.
During the end of the Middle Ages, the Church became corrupt and started focusing on money
instead of power. Therefore, many reformers emerged onto the scene to help stop these corrupt
methods. Martin Luther was the first to go against the church, and he was followed by many other
reformers soon after. Luther, along with other reformers, marked a change in the way religion was
in Europe. They formed their own ways of religion against the church, and formed a modern way of
religion in Europe. Before, there was one main religion, and if you were not Catholic you were not
accepted. Yet after the Reformation, more religions emerged in Europe. Although they were not all
accepted everywhere, the people were able to practice their religion without being persecuted.
Through the Reformation and the acceptance of other religions, Europe shifted from medieval to
modern. The scientific revolution in changed the way people thought about mathematics and
engineering. In medieval times, there was no reason for a lot of the events. Through the scientific
revolution, Europe

The Watergate Scandal Essay
The Watergate Scandal Watergate is the popular name for the political scandal and constitutional
crisis that began with the arrest of five burglars who broke into the Democratic National Committee
headquarters at the Watergate office in Washington D.C. on the night of June 17, 1972. It ended
with the resignation of president Richard M. Nixon. The burglars and two co potters G. Gordon
Liddy and E. Howard Hunt were indicated on charges of burglary, conspiracy, and wiretapping. Four
monthes later, they were convicted and sentenced to prison terms by District Court Judge John J.
Sirica, who was convicted that pertinent details had not been unveiled during the trial and proffered
leniency in exchange for further information. As it... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amid increasing disclosures of White House involved in the Watergate break in and its
aftermath, Nixon announced the resignations of John Ehrlichman and H. R. Haldman, two of his
closest advisers, in the dismissal of his counsel John W. Dean III. Growing suspicion of
presidential involvement in the scandel resulted in an intensification of the investigation. Leaders
in this inquiry included Judge Sirica, reporters for the Washington Post, the Ervin committee, and
Archibald Cox, who was sworn in as special prosecutor in May 1973. Dean told the Ervin
committee in June that Nixon had cover up. A month later, former White House staff Alexander
Butterfield revealed that Nixon had secretly tape recorded conversations in his offices. Both Cox
and the Ervin committee began efforts to obtain selected tapes. Nixon, citing EXECUTIVE
PRIVILEGE, refused to relinquish them and tried to have Cox fired. On Oct. 20, 1973, Attorney
General Elliot L. Richardson, refusing to dismiss Cox, resigned in protest. His deputy, William
Ruckelshaus, also refused and was fired. Nixon s solicitor general, who was next in command, then
fired Cox. The Saturday night massacre, as the events of that evening became known, heightened
suspicions that Nixon had much to hide. Leon Jaworski, who replaced Cox as special prosecutor
on November 1, continued to press for the tapes. On Mar. 1, 1974, a federal grand jury indicted
seven men, including Haldeman, Ehrlichman,

Greed In Tom Walker And The Devil
Greed is a term that is thrown around a lot in today s society but what is the true meaning of
greed? According to the dictionary greed is intense and selfish desire for something, especially
wealth, power, or food (dictionary). Everyone has their own definition of greed, mine is anyone
or anything that puts themselves before others needs. In the short story Tom walker and the
devil by irving, the article titled Greed by Jessica Hawthorn, and the article what is greed by
Tomas Baus these authors show that greed is defined as taking your personal wants before others.
Greed is usually fueled by jealousy. In the short story the devil and tom walker the author uses
diction to relay that greed is fueled by jealousy, after hearing about the skull, tom s wife decided to

The article states more of something than is needed (Jessica 1). When a person wants more than
he or she needs, that is greed. There is no reason to have more of something that isn t essential to
life. Somethings are nice to have a lot of but, it shouldn t make you forget about others and
become selfish. Many people only take what they need which is the opposite of greed, they have
others in mind instead of themselves. The problem with the term greed is, who is to say when
someone has enough of something? The article states Who decides not only what is needed, but
when someone has more than enough (Jessica1). There is no exact amount of something that a
person possesses that is considered greedy. Because of this everyone in the world has different
definitions of the word. People in today s society often argue about what is considered being
greedy. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but when it s started to hurt others, that is where

Personal Narrative Essay Of A Baseball Team
I m sure you ve been told persistence is key, and believe that you can do something, not that you

after 4th grade year, our baseball team had the greatest summer ever. At the beginning of the
season since their was so many kids at our age group that wanted to play, the adults in charge had
to split it up into 3 teams. All 3 teams had fair or average seasons. My team had the best of the 3,
but it wasn t quite good enough. We had had, just enough success, not as much as we would
have liked. We found ourselves barely sneaking into the tournament as the worst out of 8 seeded
teams. We had to play against the undefeated Watertown team in the first round. We were told we
had no chance to win, and we believed that too. The most I ve ever been wrong in my life was
saying, we have no chance to beat them. Going into that game we had convinced ourselves that
we had already lost before it even started. We were about as flat as a tabletop. While warming up
we were pretty much just waiting for the game to end, so that we could just leave and just call it a
year! Once the game actually started something just clicked. We... Show more content on

match I might add. We took care of business from the opening pitch. GSL had brought everything
they had, but it just wasn t enough. This left us as the only unbeaten team left. Only 4 teams left in
total, us, GSL, Maple Lake, and of course Watertown. Winning the first 3 games was quite the
obstacle, but we overcame it, easier than it should have been. The biggest obstacle had yet to be

After VWF is made, it can follow a number of pathways. It can either be released into the plasma,

One of the main fibrinolysis enzymes is plasmin, this is an enzyme that comes from
plasminogen, the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin will incorporate 2 serine proteases.
These serine proteases are tPA and uPA. The enzyme tPA, is made and released from the
endothelial cells, while uPA is made by monocytes and macrophages. Two enzymes also differ in
the fact that uPA has a lower affinity for plasminogen compared to tPA. This process will stop
and inhibit the buildup of fibrin, it also allows the thrombus to be removed. The activation of
plasminogen will form plasmin and this will degrade the thrombus. Plasmin will terminate the

Gambling Effects On The American Economy
Gambling Effects on the American Economy American people like games and entertainment,
and one of these games is gambling. According to crops online, a gambling website (2009),
gambling is classified as an old game taking place in China back around 2300 B.C. Then around
100 D.C., King of Norway and King of Sweden resolved the District of Hising property by using
two dice. In the Mediterranean countries, the deck of card was developed, and especially the
French altered the deck by pulling out a man and adding a queen. In nineteen century, the US
citizens started playing gamblingin a casinoand house cuts in Cincinnati City and paying ten per
cent to the house cuts (History of Gambling). Since then, the casinos have started spreading
throughout the country, and nowadays, the casinos are in many states of the US where a lot of
people spend their vacation either alone or with the family and enjoy their time. Moreover, the
lottery is a different type of gambling. According to North American Association of State and
Provincial Lotteries (NASPL), a lottery s website, the lottery started in China around 100 BC, then
the Belgian used lotteries to build chapels, almshouses, canals and port facilities in 1465,
whereupon New York became the first state that authorized lottery in the United Statesin 1967

What Do We Really Know About The Beginning Of Time
What Do We Really Know About The Beginning Of Time?
Most people take for granted important discoveries, such as the Big Bang. It is widely accepted
that the Big Bang created the universe, and while most people can explain the basic theory behind
it, little else is common knowledge. Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes called it The Horrendous Space
Kablooie, but many people do not grasp the enormous concept (Milne). How exactly do you prove
how time began? A writer for Scientific American put this subject into perspective: If you re
religious, this is like looking at God (Milne).
Cosmology is the study of the universe, its workings, how it was made, and what it will become.

So close, in fact, that everything in the universe was concentrated into a single point he called the
primordial atom, which happens to be the name of his theory. He also said that to gain the outward
momentum we have today, the atom must have exploded like fireworks of unimaginable beauty
(Milne). Does this sound like the Big Bang Theory? That is because it is, although the name Big
Bang did not come about until Fred Hoyle jokingly called it the Big Bang while trying to oppose
the theory in 1950 (Encarta).
Everything makes sense, but how to prove such a beginning? In the 1960s, scientists realized that
such a hot and violent beginning must have left a vast wave of heat that can still be traced in
small amounts. Not long after this realization, two Bell scientists announced that they had
discovered this heat wave, called the cosmic background radiation. They both received the Nobel
Prize in 1978 for their findings. These first findings, however, had a few hitches. The cosmic
background radiation was found to be fairly smooth and even. It was hard for scientists to figure
out how stars and galaxies grouped together with such an even distribution. Once again, with the
advance of technology and the challenge of a good problem, scientists went to work. During a
press conference in 1992, George Smoot and a few other colleagues announced that they had found
these temperature ripples in the cosmic background radiation. So there you have it! The origin of

At first, we examine Responsibility which is shown in both books such as Bloodline and The
House on Mango Street in such a way all the problems revolve around it, that is to say the sense of
responsibility is present in all the situations that the characters live in and it constitutes one of the
most important challenge to overcome in the life as presented by the Sandra Cisneros and Gaines.
Responsibilityis also addressed as a way of facing the duties or sometime as an inevitable fate

Vegetarianism In Tibetan Buddhism
Tibetan Buddhism, a Mahayana sect, is a unique exception in strictly following the vegetarian diet,
as Tibetan Buddhism encourages vegetarianism despite most communities being located on the
Qing hai Tibetan Plateau (Rinpoche) The Qing hai plateau is most likely the largest and highest
area ever to exist on Earth, with an average elevation of 16,400 feet (Foggin). This has led to few
constructions of transportation services, virtually causing the region to be excluded from
vegetation trade. Furthermore, lack of oxygen due to high elevation and severe permafrost
demolish the prospect of any suitable condition coming about for growing numerous crops. To cope
with these circumstances, Tibetan Buddhists strive on a vegetable and grain diet, consuming a
restricted amount of meat if natural conditions limit their main food sources (Rinpoche). In this
way, they clearly demonstrate their compassion towards animal life by holding a strong resolve to
consume only non beings and to eat meat only if of utmost necessity, regardless of limited
vegetation supply. On the bases of ahimsa and compassion, Tibetan Buddhismperpetuates the moral
responsibility and spiritual respect humans should hold towards nonhumans.
Contrary to the disheartening truth that animal agriculture and animal slaughter are inescapably
intertwined, the vegetarian diet is not a required regimen in all Buddhist schools of thought.
Buddha Gautama characterized Buddhism as a free religion, aware that forbidding meat

The Electoral College Voting System
In the heavily political world we live in today, there are both upsides and downsides to our
current system. And with every aspect of our system, politicians can come up with loopholes to
benefit themselves. We are provided free healthcare, but you must fit certain circumstances in
order to receive it. We have the right to a fair trial, but a fair trial can quickly become a matter of
race, religion, or beliefs. In the same way, our democracyand how we elect our president must be
dealt with a tablespoon of salt.
The Electoral College is our voting system based off of 538 votes dispersed over the span of all
50 states. It is based off of population rather than size; a state with a massive population like New
York gets twenty nine votes while a more scarce state like Montana only gets three votes. If a
majority of the previously elected voters vote for a particular candidate, then all of the votes for
that state is delegated to said candidate.

The Embodiment Of Tradition In Kate Chopin s The Awakening
Brian Sandoval10/27/17
Mr. AmorosoAP Literature Pd. 3 Awakening LAP Topic 4 Life has an abundance of crossroads
that we must pass in order to reach the zenith of our long and arduous journey to self realization.
One in particular is the decision to stay grounded in the relative safety of the earth or attempt to
soar high in the vast sky amongst the birds and clouds. Many do not dare leave the comforts of
the grass, haunted by the swift and deathly fall that is sure to follow and therefore mark anyone
foolhardy to try as idiotic for even thinking of accomplishing the impossible. Yet who is the fool;
the person brave enough to soar, willing to risk the unrecoverable drop down or the person who has
already resigned to their position in the plains, content with this fate? Edna Pontellier, the main
protagonist of Kate Chopin s The Awakening, is conflicted by this choice after she has plucked the
already fragmenting mask society has made her wear and shattered it. Now aware of the façade

Diversity In The 18th Century
The diversity in 18th century American society was like an undeveloped larva compared to the
intricate butterfly America is today. The larva of 1791 consisted of a white majority, while today
s butterfly is flush with colors from all over the world, where diversity has catalyzed change
within the society as a whole (periodic). Although Thomas Paine argued America represented a
haven of concordant living amongst people of diverse backgrounds under a government promising
unalienable rights, the grand change in American demographics has inevitably produced turmoil
among different cultures, divided by a broad discrepancy of wealth between social classes and
sweeping contrast between ideologies; America, therefore, is too young and diverse of a country
where citizens have not found a common ground to stand together on (parallelism). The
pollyannish goal of society is concord, the weaving of various cultures, ideas, and principles to
create a harmonic, unified community. A society under concord is a utopia, where according to
Paine, any difficulty is expunged, simply by establishing a government based on philosophical
ideals. Concord is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
population consisted of about 80% of whites, while the rest were slaves. Since then, not only has
the U.S. population multiplied by approximately 80 times, but the presence of other races has
waxed as well. A society dominated by people with similar culture would definitely struggle less
in achieving societal concord than one catholic in culture. Racism is a telling example of discord
in American society today as a result of change in demographics, where the chauvinist Ku Klux
Klan purposefully hectors non white Christians. Nowadays, as our society becomes more
culturally diverse, the possibility of achieving concord is like the probability of Wile E. Coyote
capturing the Road Runner, very scarce (simile). Societal discord doesn t just end at conflicting
ideologies, it continues into economic cases (compound

The Story Of Alex Rider
When 14 year old Alex Rider hears of his uncle s tragic death in an auto accident, he becomes
immediately suspicious. As far as Alex knew, Ian Rider had been a banker, a very careful man.
He was also Alex s only living relative. Following up on his uncle s destiny, Alex discovers that
the car is at a junkyard and is sporting dozens of bullet holes and blood on the seats that proves his
uncle was murdered. Alex s quest for the truth introduces him to Alan Blunt, a spymaster for
Britain s MI6 intelligent agency. Caught while seeking further information, Alex is blackmailed by
Blunt into becoming the youngest spy to ever work for MI6.Herod Sayles, a multi millionaire, is
giving away thousands of his newest computers, Stormbreaker, to the children of London s schools.

Garcinia Cambogia
Garcinia cambogia extract is a weight loss pill that was advertised by Dr. Oz during a segment
on his daytime talk show. Dr. Oz introduced the product using persuasive language to provoke
viewer interest, claiming the pill is the magic ingredient to lose weight without diet or exercise.
He explained that garcinia cambogia extract is found in the rind of tamarind fruit from
Southeast Asia and that the fruit is known to have medicinal benefits. Dr. Oz stated that garcinia
cambogia may have more promise than other weight loss products because it reduces body fat
and suppresses appetite. The active ingredient found in garcinia cambogia, hydroxycitric acid
(HCA), aids to block an enzyme which makes fat. HCA also increases the release of the
hormone serotonin, which reduces the craving for food. Additionally, garcinia cambogia can
decrease total cholesterol and triglycerides, with potential improvement in leptin and insulin
resistance in the obese. The product was advertised during the segment to target women who are
seeking an easy alternative to lose weight fast. This is apparent as the majority of the studio
audience is composed of middle aged women who represent the intended population. By allowing
the audience to ask questions that Dr. Oz answers on the spot, viewers are left with more
confidence in the product. Dr. Oz specifically manipulates his language with the objective to
entice women, referring to weight loss as a decrease in dress size. Dr. Oz conveys a sense of

The Salem Witchcraft Trials of 1692
The Salem witchcraft trials of 1692, which resulted in 19 executions, and 150 accusations of
witchcraft, are one of the historical events almost everyone has heard of. They began when three
young girls, Betty Parris, Abigail Williams and Ann Putnam began to have hysterical fits, after
being discovered engaging in forbidden fortune telling (not dancing naked in the woods) to learn
what sorts of men they would marry. Betty s father, the Reverend Samuel Parris, called in more
senior authorities to determine if the girls affliction was caused by witchcraft. Although Betty was
sent away fairly soon, and did not participate in the trials, the other girls were joined by other young

Whereas in the past everyone in a locality had followed the same religion, people were now
exposed to Christianity and the local religions of people who had moved to their region, or
whose regions they had moved to. In the cities of central and southern Africa, many local
religions and Christian sects could be found, as well as Islam. Belief in witchcraft tended to unite
people across religious differences. Typically, the names brought to witch finders were those of
the same sort of local enemies we have become familiar with in reading about the Azande. As the
frenzy increased, people began to be accused who had not aroused any particular jealousies,
possibly because they possessed a peculiar bag or horn, which might be said to contain medicine in
one reported case, such a container did indeed contain medicine but ordinary physical medicine, not
magical substances. These crazes tended to die down, often after considerable conflict and property
damage, and the witch finders would then move on to the next town. As witchcraft accusations still
occur in the area, we can conclude that the movements did not get rid of witches forever, nor, unlike
the situation Salem or Europe, did belief in witchcraft itself actually end with the witch crazes.
The actual execution of witches was not usually a feature in African witchcraft, so there was
probably less to repent in the end, though there

Introduction . Salt, Scientifically Referred To As Halite,
Introduction
Salt, scientifically referred to as Halite, is chemical composition of Sodium and Chlorine
minerals. It s presence in the everyday lives of individuals is incalculable; Salt is evidently
prevalent in our diet and methods used for food preservation, however, salt is surprisingly present
in other elements of our lives as significant as language. This essay will appreciate the various roles
that salt plays along with the risks that are attached to the ingestion of this particle. Additionally, this
paper will outline the history of salt with specific emphasis placed on its extraction processes, and
its influences on the English language.

The salt bed is subsequently blasted, crushed, and broken into smaller pieces which are brought
to the surface for processing and finessing. The mining of salt beds results in rock salt which is
used primarily as a highway de icer (Kostick 2004). Alternatively, mechanical evaporation occurs
through the vacuum pan process. As described in the article introduced above by Kostick (2004),
this energy conserving process begins with a salt saturated brine which is brought to a boil,
rectangular pans with steam heated immersion coils are used to facilitate the evaporation process
(Kostick, 2004). Once the evaporation occurs, rotating rakes collect the salt and the extracted
product is laid out to dry. The mechanical evaporation of salt saturated solution results in flake
shaped salt, often used for cheeses, butter, and baked goods as described in Kostick (2004).
In the same article, written by Kostick (2004), the author states that the extraction of sea salt
requires an entirely unique process called solar evaporation. Halite isn t the only mineral present in
sea water, because of this, each mineral must be separated from the water in order to extract the salt.
First, seawater is collected distributed in ponds that function to concentrate and ultimately
evaporate the minerals within the water. The brine is subsequently circulated across a multiplicity
of interconnected ponds with the salinity increasing as it transfers

How Water Shaped Michigan Essay
How Water Shaped Michigan
People often wonder how the continents, states, and other landforms develop their shape and
structure. Our earth, continents, countries, and states developed over billions of years and water
played a huge roll in the development, shape, and structure. Within this exploratory essay you will
gain knowledge on how Michigan, specifically, was shaped and how water affects the state in
many ways and will continue to do so every single day until the earth ceases to exist.
Description of Michigan
Michigan is one of the fifty states within the United States of America and is favored with
having the largest shoreline within the U.S. It is characterized by two peninsulas, the upper
peninsula (which is obviously cooler) and the lower peninsula which holds a vast majority of the
land and also a big chunk of us, Michiganders. The name Michigan comes from the Chippewa
Indian word Michigama which means great or large lake. Lake Michigan was called Michigama
by the Chippewa Indians. Our unique state is luckily surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes.
The Great Lakes in our region have vastly influenced our state and those around us. Without
Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, Lake Huron, and Lake Erie, we would not have the large fresh
water sources we currently are blessed with, many jobs would not exist, recreational activities
would be slim to none, and we simply wouldn t have the gorgeous views all around us. To say the
very least, the state of Michigan is

Iron Deficiency Anemia
Iron deficiency anemia is a common type of anemia, a condition in which blood lacks adequate
healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body s tissues. As the name implies,
iron deficiency anemia is due to insufficient iron.
The cause of iron deficiency anemia is diet, if you don t eat enough foods high in iron, inability
to absorb iron, Crohn s disease may cause low iron levels, growth spurts, children younger than 3
years of age grow so fast that their bodies may have a hard time keeping up with the amount of iron
they need, pregnancy, women who are breastfeeding need more iron than women who are not
pregnant or breastfeeding, blood loss, and genetic disease such as sickle cell disease.

anemia. If anemia is caused from losing too much blood, your doctor will need to treat the cause
of the blood loss. If anemia results from your diet being too low in iron, the doctor may
recommend a change in your diet or iron pills. Managing the condition that is causing the anemia
is the most important part of treating it. If anemia is very bad, you might get shots of
erythropoietin to help your bone marrow make more red blood cells.
Nursing interventions: monitor vital signs and oxygen saturation, monitoring lab results, encourage
balance between activities in the day, dietary education and lifestyle changes, make sure patient has

The Importance Of Human Development And The Stages Of...
Introduction
Surveys that have been conducted in the current times have revealed that there are many adults that
are returning to their parents at home. It s not the first time that this pattern is being experienced it
have happened in the past and it have always been accompanied with financial problems, it s no
different even now (Adler, 2001). It occurs when the economy is in real struggle this makes it
harder for the young men and women in the society to find their financial independence. Jeffrey
Arnett a psychologist came up with a suggestion that in these modern times the stages of
development are increasing (Mitchell, B 2006). He said that there is a new type of the
classification of the ages known as the emerging adults; this is what bridges the gap between the
adulthood and the adolescents. As per the theory it is believed that people while at their 20s
undergo a stage of development which is different from the stage of adulthood (Morton, R 2013).
This could serve as a good explanation why most of the young adults remain in their parents home
completely.
Relevance to human development field
This survey is a great benefit to the field of human development in that it will enable them to
develop a treatment plan that will be successful. It will also enable them to stand in the position of
pioneers in their respective fields. It also helps them to understand better the situation. This makes a
possibility to rise that the reason why the young people find it hard to live

The 1960s Of The 70s
Ever wonder what it s like to be back in the 70s? Well I certainly do! Every decade has a special
significant and I believe that we should learn about it. In the 1970s, it was a time period filled with
equality fighting, freedom opportunity, change, and war. One interesting fact that I noticed in the
70s is that it is a continuation of the 60s. During this decade, women continued to fight for their
equality and Americans joined the protest against the Vietnam War that was going on during this
time. The 1970s was a time of great change. Some of these great changes had to deal with the
fashion industries, technologies, and even transportation. Not only that, but in the 70s, types of
music s changed and so did art. For example, there was an increase in Installation Art during this
time period. Even though the 1970s had great changes that improved the world, it also had some of
its downfalls. In the political area, Nixon, as a president during this time, caused destruction. In
addition, during this decade, there were several assassination attempts on presidents and it was also
the beginning on terrorists. It is important for people to learn details about past decades. To truly
understand about the 70s, you must know and learn the history, politics, fashion, music, important
people, and sports. Under politics and history, Richard Nixonwould be considered as an important
person. Under Nixon s control, he immediately orders a U.S. invasion of Cambodia. After his

The reason of conducting this experiment is to measure how visual activity correlates to how
GRIP protein can alter AMPAR receptor activity in postsynaptic cell that can lead to prediction
of activity of GRIP protein and AMPAR receptor in presynaptic cell. If GRIP is taken out from
postsynaptic cell, plasticity of postsynaptic cell will not alter since ability of the cell to maintain
level of activity even visual input decrease. In postsynaptic cell, GRIP is necessary or responsible

This experiment s results and mechanisms relates current medical disease which well known as

Lax Credit Standards:
In an effort to remedy such disproportion between inventory and demand, in 1995 SDI began to
negligently issue credit lines. As exemplified by Table 2, due to such leniency net sales continued
to increase between 1995 and 1997 (Appendix A). However, as illustrated by Table 1 the relaxed
credit standards caused a 39% spike in accounts receivable from 1994 to 1995 (Appendix A).
Consequently, the increase in inventory and accounts receivable negatively impacted the current
ratio of the firm. As a result, the firm s liquidity dropped significantly below industry average in
1995 to 1.90 from 2.96, well above the 2.25 average, in 1994 (Appendix C). Therefore, the cash
flow of the firm was negatively affected by the issuance of credit as accounts receivable continued
to rise.
Loan Reliance:
As inventories and account receivable steadily increased, the firm distressingly opted for a short
term solution. By means of long term lending in 1994 and higher short term credit in 1994 and
1995, SDI chose to temporarily resolve the current issues of the firm without considering the
potential long term ramifications. As illustrated in Table 1, long term loans remained the same
while short term bank loans increased by 71% between 1994 and 1995; a drastic change within a
short span of time (Appendix A). Similarly, as depicted in Table 2, the interest on the firm s short

Thomas
I can relate to Thomas because of these four ways. Thomas was doubtful and worked hard at finding
out the truth. He helped out others believe in Jesus even though they have never seen Him. He
taught about Jesus to others. And he struggled a lot throughout his life with Jesus.
Thomas doubted and so he worked hard at finding out the truth. He always doubted because of his
faith, he wanted to see with his own eyes instead of believing what he wanted to see. For
example when Jesus was crucified on the cross he was speared in the chest and nailed to the
cross from his wrists. When Jesus was resurrected He visited the group of disciples but Thomas
wasn t with the group at the time. So when Thomas came to them they told him about the good
news but he didn t believe them unless he saw and felt Jesus wounds in his wrists and chest.
Jesus then invited Thomas to see Him so he did and Thomas felt his wounds and believed. The way
I work hard is my schedule; I have to wake up go to swim practice from 5:00 to 7:00. Then I have
to go to school for six hours and do a lot of assignments for each class. After each class they assign
homework which usually takes another two hours after school. Then I have to go to swim
practice again for another two hours. When I m finished with practice I have to go eat dinner,
then I go home around 8:00 8:30. I have to do my homework which takes forever and go to bed
late and wake up early the next morning for practice. It s hard to do mostly because of the
amount of school work we have. When I have to wake up for practice it makes it even harder
because I put in all my effort and end up tired before school and makes it harder to concentrate.
Then after school I have to practice really hard again, and by the time I get home I m exhausted
and just want to go to sleep, but I have to stay up and do a lot of homework. I keep doubting that
I won t be able to get my work done on time or work hard at practice. I just try to do my best at
either my school work or swimming no matter what.
Thomas was an inquisitive man. Thomas curious mind led him to doubt God s work in the world,
but also led him to discover answers to his questions, which led him to

Role Of Women In Dracula
The Power Struggle in Bram Stoker s Dracula
Bram Stoker s Dracula is a highly controversial novel written in the Victorian Era. The Victorian
era was a time when gender played a very restrictive role in society. Men and women were
expected to follow certain behavior and to stay within the conventions of the time. In Dracula, the
reader encounters the new woman , a woman who does not stay within the bounds of Victorian
gender tradition. The reader also gains insight into the dominate role that men play in the novel and
how the patriarchy impacts society. There are two opinions among critics, one being that the men
primarily dictate the events and characterization in the novel, or the second argument being that
women actually fulfill this role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many critics argue that the men completely dictate the plot and the behavior of most characters in
the novel. The Crew of Light primarily perpetuates the patriarchy and control women. Mitchell R.
Lewis concludes that the male plays the most significant role in dictating the basis of the novel. In
his entry about Dracula he states, The efforts of the male characters to kill Dracula are really
efforts to subordinate female sexuality to the Victorian institution of heterosexual marriage, in
which women primarily play the prescribed roles of wife and mother. It is also an effort to save the
embattled masculinity of the male characters. . The male characters are constantly plotting to
uphold the patriarchy and to force women to act how they want them to, weather they know it or
not. The men must prove their masculinity and dominance over the woman. In another gender
criticism, Sos Eltis takes a similar view. Eltis cites multiple events in the text where masculinity is
triumphing over femininity and prolonging the familiar, traditional gender roles of Victorian
society. He talks of the killing of Lucy saying, The staking of Lucy is described in overtly sexual
terms, as a reassertion of masculine dominance and sexual aggression ... Arthur Holmwood
becomes the embodiment of determined, self controlled, masculinity. (456). Both critics agree that
one of the primary problems in

Trace Evidence
Crime scenes are known to have many clues left behind. The obvious would be a the body or
bodies, clothing, and sometimes even the murder weapon. While these are great way to solve a
case there s another kind of evidence; trace evidence. Trace evidence are small pieces of evidence
that are laying around a crime scene. There are many types of trace evidence some of them include
metal filings, plastic fragments, gunshot residue, glass fragments, feathers, food stains, building
materials, lubricants, fingernail scrapings, pollens and spores, cosmetics, chemicals, paper fibers
and sawdust, human and animal hairs, plant and vegetable fibers, blood and other body fluids,
asphalt or tar, vegetable fats and oils, dusts and other airborne... Show more content on

Glass can also hold fingerprints which can be very valuable to an investigation as the
fingerprints can be taken up on tape and then ran through a database, possibly finding a match
and allowing the investigators to find and capture a suspect. Weapons, pray bars, blunt objects,
clothing, and shoes are where paint chips from door, walls, and furniture can be found. In order
for paint to chip off there needs to be a pretty serious struggle or a pretty hard force that will chip
away at the paint then causing it to land somewhere that the suspect forgot about. The Crime
Scene labs have about forty thousand different types of paint in their database. The majority of
paint chips are from hit and run cases involving automobiles. Dust and Dirt can determine many
things to help an investigation along. It can tell the investigators where a person has been,
where they work, where they live, and if they have pets in the house. Most soil samples will
come from the top soil and only need to be a little bit over a tablespoon to be processed. Pollen is
also included in this as it is a subtype of dust and dirt Pollen allows the investigators to know if
they suspect or victim were outdoors, and if so where they could have been. Firearms that are left
behind at a crime scene can be extremely helpful. This evidence includes not only the firearm itself
but also the ammunition used in the firearm, componets that make up the firearms, and the residue
that comes out when the

  • 3. Emperors of the Roman Empire Emperors In Ancient Rome, the government was controlled by an emperor starting with Julius Caesar. After his death, men jockeyed for power throughout the next several centuries. Each emperor had his own strengths and weaknesses which made them either beloved or hated by their people. If loyalty to the people and doing what is best for the citizens of the nation or state is the most important criteria on which to judge an emperor, then the success or failure of the emperor can be judged by comparing them to one another. However, it is not enough to be loved by the general public, as is evident in the case of some emperors; the leader must also be able to maintain communication and cooperation with the other members of the government in order to form a cohesive team to serve the people. Three of the most famous emperors who had a major impact on the Roman Empire and the Roman people are Julius Caesar, Augustus Caesar, and Caligula. Julius Caesar ruled Rome when the empire was still a Republic with Senators and other politicians holding equal power to the one man in charge. Caesar was beloved by the people and his role as emperor was one that was given to him by the people of Rome, much to the chagrin of the Senators. Many of his fellow politicians felt this gave Caesar far too much power over them. Rather than allow for their Republic to become an Empire ruled by a dictator in perpetuity (Suetonius 25). Julius Caesar was not political enough when he accepted this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. A Brief Note On Remote Sensing And Gis Technologies 3.2 Incorporation of Remote Sensing Remote sensing and GIS technologies were initially developed for different purposes. However, both these resources can provide information about the earth s natural resources. Advancements in computer hardware and software technology now make it possible for data from these sources to be easily integrated. Most GIS software packages allow remotely sensed data to be imported, or at least viewed, within the software application. This ability allows the analyst to overlay remote sensing data layers with other 5 spatial data layers. Analysts use remotely sensed imagery with GIS data sets for a variety of reasons, including providing a continuous regional view of the areas and extracting GIS data layers, such as contours or building footprints 3.3 Use of GIS to Create Maps A map can be worth a thousand words. If you re looking for ways to create maps or to display geographic data, there are a number of software package that can help, from free ones to complex and powerful ones. We summarize the tools recommended by five nonprofit experts. Some of the animals in the badger s diet include woodrats, prairie dogs, kangaroo rats, pika, pocket gophers, marmots, moles, ground squirrels, deer mice, and voles. The badger is also a huge consumer of snakes. In South Dakota the badger is the most dominant predator of rattlesnakes, making the badger very important to the ecosystem. They also prey on ground nesting birds like burrowing owls, and bank swallow. Some of the smaller things the badger preys on would be insects such as bees, and reptiles like lizards, and fish and skunks. Mutualism: The coyote and badger is a great example of mutualism. Coyotes normally don t hunt in packs or in tight knit groups but is often found hunting with the badger. The best example would be hunting in prairie dog fields. The coyote takes the prairie dogs on the ground while scaring other dogs into their holes where the badger is. When the badger hunts underground catching it s prey it also scares dogs up to the ground where the coyote is. So basically the badger and coyote work together to corner up the prairie dogs and eat until they get their fill. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Growing suspicion of presidential involvement in the scandel resulted in an intensification of the investigation. Leaders in this inquiry included Judge Sirica, reporters for the Washington Post, the Ervin committee, and Archibald Cox, who was sworn in as special prosecutor in May 1973. Dean told the Ervin committee in June that Nixon had cover up. A month later, former White House staff Alexander Butterfield revealed that Nixon had secretly tape recorded conversations in his offices. On Oct. 20, 1973, Attorney General Elliot L. Richardson, refusing to dismiss Cox, resigned in protest. His deputy, William Ruckelshaus, also refused and was fired. Nixon s solicitor general, who was next in command, then fired Cox. The Saturday night massacre, as the events of that evening became known, heightened suspicions that Nixon had much to hide. Many people only take what they need which is the opposite of greed, they have others in mind instead of themselves. The problem with the term greed is, who is to say when someone has enough of something? The article states Who decides not only what is needed, but when someone has more than enough (Jessica1). There is no exact amount of something that a person possesses that is considered greedy. Because of this everyone in the world has different definitions of the word. Well I m not going to show it to you, or tell you, I m going to prove it to you. The summer after 4th grade year, our baseball team had the greatest summer ever. At the beginning of the season since their was so many kids at our age group that wanted to play, the adults in charge had to split it up into 3 teams. All 3 teams had fair or average seasons. My team had the best of the 3, but it wasn t quite good enough. We had had, just enough success, not as much as we would have liked. We found ourselves barely sneaking into the tournament as the worst out of 8 seeded teams. We had to play against the undefeated Watertown team in the first round. We were told we had no chance to win, and we believed that too. The most I ve ever been wrong in my life was saying, we have no chance to beat them. Going into that game we had convinced ourselves that we had already lost before it even started. We were about as flat as a tabletop. While warming up we were pretty much just waiting for the game to end, so that we could just leave and just call it a year! Once the game actually started something just clicked. We... It is widely accepted that the Big Bang created the universe, and while most people can explain the basic theory behind it, little else is common knowledge. Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes called it The Horrendous Space Kablooie, but many people do not grasp the enormous concept (Milne). How exactly do you prove how time began? A writer for Scientific American put this subject into perspective: If you re religious, this is like looking at God (Milne). That is because it is, although the name Big Bang did not come about until Fred Hoyle jokingly called it the Big Bang while trying to oppose the theory in 1950 (Encarta). Everything makes sense, but how to prove such a beginning? In the 1960s, scientists realized that such a hot and violent beginning must have left a vast wave of heat that can still be traced in small amounts. Not long after this realization, two Bell scientists announced that they had discovered this heat wave, called the cosmic background radiation. They both received the Nobel Prize in 1978 for their findings. These first findings, however, had a few hitches. The cosmic background radiation was found to be fairly smooth and even. It was hard for scientists to figure out how stars and galaxies grouped together with such an even distribution. Once again, with the advance of technology and the challenge of a good problem, scientists went to work. During a press conference in 1992, George Smoot and a few other colleagues announced that they had found these temperature ripples in the cosmic background radiation. So there you have it! This has led to few constructions of transportation services, virtually causing the region to be excluded from vegetation trade. Furthermore, lack of oxygen due to high elevation and severe permafrost demolish the prospect of any suitable condition coming about for growing numerous crops. To cope with these circumstances, Tibetan Buddhists strive on a vegetable and grain diet, consuming a restricted amount of meat if natural conditions limit their main food sources (Rinpoche). In this way, they clearly demonstrate their compassion towards animal life by holding a strong resolve to consume only non beings and to eat meat only if of utmost necessity, regardless of limited vegetation supply. On the bases of ahimsa and compassion, Tibetan Buddhismperpetuates the moral responsibility and spiritual respect humans should hold towards nonhumans. One in particular is the decision to stay grounded in the relative safety of the earth or attempt to soar high in the vast sky amongst the birds and clouds. • 31. The Importance Of Human Development And The Stages Of... Introduction Surveys that have been conducted in the current times have revealed that there are many adults that are returning to their parents at home. It s not the first time that this pattern is being experienced it have happened in the past and it have always been accompanied with financial problems, it s no different even now (Adler, 2001). It occurs when the economy is in real struggle this makes it harder for the young men and women in the society to find their financial independence. Jeffrey Arnett a psychologist came up with a suggestion that in these modern times the stages of development are increasing (Mitchell, B 2006). He said that there is a new type of the classification of the ages known as the emerging adults; this is what bridges the gap between the adulthood and the adolescents. As per the theory it is believed that people while at their 20s undergo a stage of development which is different from the stage of adulthood (Morton, R 2013). This could serve as a good explanation why most of the young adults remain in their parents home completely. Relevance to human development field This survey is a great benefit to the field of human development in that it will enable them to develop a treatment plan that will be successful. It will also enable them to stand in the position of pioneers in their respective fields. It also helps them to understand better the situation. This makes a possibility to rise that the reason why the young people find it hard to live ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The 1960s Of The 70s Ever wonder what it s like to be back in the 70s? Well I certainly do! Every decade has a special significant and I believe that we should learn about it. In the 1970s, it was a time period filled with equality fighting, freedom opportunity, change, and war. One interesting fact that I noticed in the 70s is that it is a continuation of the 60s. During this decade, women continued to fight for their equality and Americans joined the protest against the Vietnam War that was going on during this time. The 1970s was a time of great change. Some of these great changes had to deal with the fashion industries, technologies, and even transportation. Not only that, but in the 70s, types of music s changed and so did art. For example, there was an increase in Installation Art during this time period. Even though the 1970s had great changes that improved the world, it also had some of its downfalls. In the political area, Nixon, as a president during this time, caused destruction. In addition, during this decade, there were several assassination attempts on presidents and it was also the beginning on terrorists. It is important for people to learn details about past decades. To truly understand about the 70s, you must know and learn the history, politics, fashion, music, important people, and sports. Under politics and history, Richard Nixonwould be considered as an important person. Under Nixon s control, he immediately orders a U.S. invasion of Cambodia. After his ... Amount of GRIP is associated with AMPAR receptors can lead to the prediction of activity in the presynaptic cell. AMPAR receptor change shape to be ready to receive neurotransmitter when GRIP bind. The presynaptic cell contains vesicle which neurotransmitters are accommodated. When calcium enters the presynaptic cell by calcium channel, vesicles dock to the presynaptic cell to become ready to release neurotransmitters to the synaptic gap. Neurotransmitters are released in a packet called quanta. AMPAR receptor has to change its shape by GRIP to receive the release of quanta in the synaptic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason of conducting this experiment is to measure how visual activity correlates to how GRIP protein can alter AMPAR receptor activity in postsynaptic cell that can lead to prediction of activity of GRIP protein and AMPAR receptor in presynaptic cell. If GRIP is taken out from postsynaptic cell, plasticity of postsynaptic cell will not alter since ability of the cell to maintain level of activity even visual input decrease. In postsynaptic cell, GRIP is necessary or responsible for maintaining activity level of the cell. My position and job in this experiment is to understand and recognize the GRIP s role and how GRIP regulates the AMPAR receptor in the presynaptic terminal. This experiment s results and mechanisms relates current medical disease which well known as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Symptoms of ASD are difficulty of communication and interaction with others and inadequate eye contact. When GRIP proteins do not interact with AMPAR receptor, ASD were developed due to genetic mutation of the GRIP. GRIPs are located on the presynaptic and postsynaptic cell, but when diagnosing ASD disease, only postsynaptic cell were observed to detect ASD. The reason I am desiring to predict activity in presynaptic cell is to understand neuron activity. Knowing that allows to regulate protein and receptor and manipulate the neurons the way genetics want to cure ASD. If geneticist know how neurons ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As exemplified by Table 2, due to such leniency net sales continued to increase between 1995 and 1997 (Appendix A). However, as illustrated by Table 1 the relaxed credit standards caused a 39% spike in accounts receivable from 1994 to 1995 (Appendix A). Consequently, the increase in inventory and accounts receivable negatively impacted the current ratio of the firm. As a result, the firm s liquidity dropped significantly below industry average in 1995 to 1.90 from 2.96, well above the 2.25 average, in 1994 (Appendix C). Therefore, the cash flow of the firm was negatively affected by the issuance of credit as accounts receivable continued to rise. Loan Reliance: As inventories and account receivable steadily increased, the firm distressingly opted for a short term solution. By means of long term lending in 1994 and higher short term credit in 1994 and 1995, SDI chose to temporarily resolve the current issues of the firm without considering the potential long term ramifications. As illustrated in Table 1, long term loans remained the same while short term bank loans increased by 71% between 1994 and 1995; a drastic change within a short span of time (Appendix A). He helped out others believe in Jesus even though they have never seen Him. He taught about Jesus to others. And he struggled a lot throughout his life with Jesus. Thomas doubted and so he worked hard at finding out the truth. He always doubted because of his faith, he wanted to see with his own eyes instead of believing what he wanted to see. For example when Jesus was crucified on the cross he was speared in the chest and nailed to the cross from his wrists. When Jesus was resurrected He visited the group of disciples but Thomas wasn t with the group at the time. So when Thomas came to them they told him about the good news but he didn t believe them unless he saw and felt Jesus wounds in his wrists and chest. Jesus then invited Thomas to see Him so he did and Thomas felt his wounds and believed. The way I work hard is my schedule; I have to wake up go to swim practice from 5:00 to 7:00. Then I have to go to school for six hours and do a lot of assignments for each class. After each class they assign homework which usually takes another two hours after school. Then I have to go to swim practice again for another two hours. When I m finished with practice I have to go eat dinner, then I go home around 8:00 8:30. I have to do my homework which takes forever and go to bed late and wake up early the next morning for practice. It s hard to do mostly because of the amount of school work we have. When I have to wake up for practice it makes it even harder because I put in all my effort and end up tired before school and makes it harder to concentrate. Then after school I have to practice really hard again, and by the time I get home I m exhausted and just want to go to sleep, but I have to stay up and do a lot of homework. I keep doubting that I won t be able to get my work done on time or work hard at practice. I just try to do my best at either my school work or swimming no matter what. Thomas was an inquisitive man. • 41. Role Of Women In Dracula The Power Struggle in Bram Stoker s Dracula Bram Stoker s Dracula is a highly controversial novel written in the Victorian Era. The Victorian era was a time when gender played a very restrictive role in society. Men and women were expected to follow certain behavior and to stay within the conventions of the time. In Dracula, the reader encounters the new woman , a woman who does not stay within the bounds of Victorian gender tradition. The reader also gains insight into the dominate role that men play in the novel and how the patriarchy impacts society. There are two opinions among critics, one being that the men primarily dictate the events and characterization in the novel, or the second argument being that women actually fulfill this role ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many critics argue that the men completely dictate the plot and the behavior of most characters in the novel. The Crew of Light primarily perpetuates the patriarchy and control women. Mitchell R. Lewis concludes that the male plays the most significant role in dictating the basis of the novel. In his entry about Dracula he states, The efforts of the male characters to kill Dracula are really efforts to subordinate female sexuality to the Victorian institution of heterosexual marriage, in which women primarily play the prescribed roles of wife and mother. It is also an effort to save the embattled masculinity of the male characters. . The male characters are constantly plotting to uphold the patriarchy and to force women to act how they want them to, weather they know it or not. The men must prove their masculinity and dominance over the woman. In another gender criticism, Sos Eltis takes a similar view. Eltis cites multiple events in the text where masculinity is triumphing over femininity and prolonging the familiar, traditional gender roles of Victorian society.
