In June of 1999 Shawn Fanning, John Fanning, and Sean Parker created an independent peer to
peer file sharing website called Napster, Named after John Fanning s high school nickname. A
peer to peer (P2P) service allows access to media files like movies, music, books and games by
using a certain program that connects to other computers on the same network, meaning that when
someone downloaded a file it was coming directly from another person s computer. The website
was specifically designed to transfer MP3 files with a search engine dedicated to retrieving MP3
files only, and a chat service which allowed users to communicate with each other while using this
system (Tyson). At its prime, Napsterwas home to about 80 million users (Gowan). The issue with
Napster was that it wasn t properly licensed to distribute the files and it allowed its users
unlimited free access to other individual s intellectual property without their consent. The music
industry became aware of Napster when the heavy metal band, Metallica discovered that an
unreleased version of one of their songs was circling the internet. Metallica sued Napster,
providing evidence that over 300 thousand people had exchanged their work without the approval
of the band or the record label, and that Napster contributed to their infringements (Vaver). Napster

It is a new experience, something that is most definitely nerve wracking and taxing. This will be

Le Moulin de la Galette was painted in France by Vincent Van Gogh in 1887. This particular
iteration of Le Moulin de la Galette is just one of many in a series done by Van Gogh. This piece

Brief Review
Seane Corn s podcast was two fold: educational and invigorating. Hearing her talk about her
journey to happiness is a true testimonial to naysayers who are having doubts about the positive
effects of yoga. Corn s journey to happiness, as she conveyed, was not an easy one. She had to
clamber her way from an unsettled place as a child growing up in unstable home. She explained
how her blue collar working class parents raised her in an environment where religious practices
were not present and how, as a little girl, she thought of herself as uneducated. She abused drugs
and the tender age of 19 was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. She even suffered
from an anxiety disorder but these dark episodes of her life eventually led to healing and happiness

Reflective Essay Draft It was the summer time in Akron, Ohio 2007 to be exact. The sun was
relentlessly hot like it should have been, and the ice cream trucks were driving through the

My Day In My School
Have you ever felt like your brain was being split into a million pieces? Possibly a pain so
intense you worried you were dying. That feeling was the cause of my day in hell. It was the
day of the English and Math entrance exams, and I was ecstatic. I take pride in my intelligence
and was ready to put my knowledge to the test. I had gotten a late start to the day, so I had about
30 minutes to get ready before I had to leave for GCIT. I take forever to get myself ready, so I
