Overview In this segment, one will be showing the implementation plan that has the capability of
being successful in the organization. The document will be giving a detailed description of the strategy
chosen in the Bakersfield Nestlé Ice Cream Facility regarding the improvements in the beginning of
the run and offline sensory program. Consequently, one will be pointing out the issues foreseen
regarding the implementation of the new strategy chosen to improve the consumer s trust and
preference by ensuring continuity in the Nestlé products. Though it is important to highlight what can
be forecast, the author will be building the strategy implementation charter, which will include the
time structure and steps that will make the program successful for the ice cream organization platform.
Strategic Choice The strategic choice that would have a significant impact, without using a high
costing budget, would be changing the way the organization evaluates the offline sensory program for
the beginning of run product. In continuance in capturing customers hearts, mind, and preference one
will have to develop a new way in executing, in addition to enhanced finding defects earlier in the

a detailed description of how to evaluate ice cream in a way that the employees can mimic the
environment as well as the consumer s experience of eating ice cream. The sensory program has

Tiananmen Analysis
Zach Cowburn
April 18, 2016
The Reach of Tiananmen Throughout history we have seen staggered periods of rising global
democracy. Specifically The third wave is seen as a time of soviet communist satellites and curtain
countries turning democratic. We see great success in democratization in the more western European
former soviet states. Often times these transitions were remarkably peaceful as in the many colored
revolutions. One case that stands out as an example of a failure to democratize is within China. With
many communist states questioning their governance it was natural for Chinese citizens to express
these same idea concerns. What we see though instead of the European style peaceful transition is a
small scale political movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the administration inaction was a sign of weakness and of bending to the rebellion at hand. For
almost all of China s civilized history the people have been ruled by an authoritarian empire or
governance. This sort of lax attitude would not be tolerated by the political elite traditionalists. The
protestors and world knew the government would clear the square eventually. They managed to
occupy the square for the famous visit of Mikhail Gorbachev and for some time after. With what
ended up in a virtual standoff between entrenched protestors and the army there was few options left
for trying to effectively run a country with its capital square shut down. Many of the protestors as well
as Chai Ling thought the army would only beat the protestors and use plastic bullets. This thought
while valid in context of rationalized response in a liberal democracy environment does not fit the
political landscape in which the students were involved in. The government considered the occupation
a rebellion and those involved potential enemies of state who escalated the non violent protests that
Tiananmen Square stood for into fire bomb battles with the army. The students did not understand the
position they put themselves in. Due to the lack of leadership there was no defined

The Dissonances Of God And God In The Iliad
Some of the things that define an individual and its behavior are the culture and ideals in its residence.
These ideals and culture prove that each and everyone one of us is unique. For example, an ideal
Greek citizen is versatile, clever, a leader, an orator, adaptable and tricky while an ideal Hebrew
citizen is wise, obedient, studious, righteous, inadequate, and is able to converse with God. In Hebrew
literature, God is just and merciful and the humans are inadequate. On the other hand, in Greek
literature, gods are powerful and self centered, and the humans are the ones responsible for the
community. The difference between the two is apparent, and considering these evident differences, we
can also reason out that the way how the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ruth to have a companion. When Naomi learned that the person Ruth had worked for was Boaz, a

Boaz. Daughter, is it not my duty to see you happily settled? And Boaz, the man with whose work
women you were, is he not our kinsman? Tonight he will be winnowing the barley on the threshing

answered, I am your servant Ruth. Spread the skirt of your cloak over your servant for you have the
right of redemption over me. However, even if Boaz already has the right of redemption over Ruth
because of what Ruth did, he still cannot acquire her because Ruth has a kinsman closer than Boaz

Gentrification Is A General Term For The Expansion Of...
Gentrification is a general term for the arrival of wealthier people in an existing urban district, a
related increase in rents and property values, and changes in the district s character and culture. The
word draws controversy not only in its definition and meaning but also in the impact it has among
human social life. It is a practice that is of ancient origin and has withstood the challenges of evolving
times and is still practiced in the contemporary world. Proposers and opponents alike of the
gentrifying phenomena take advantage of the numerous myths and misconceptions that surround the
practice to advance their arguments. Urban planners have rooted for the inclusion of gentrification as
one of the pillars of urban growth. With better economic status better roads, better water supply
system, better healthcare, reduced criminal activities and an overall uplifting of the quality of life
economically it is hard to argue against an overall gain from gentrification. Yet with all this, it has
been the source of a lot of widespread animosity between social classes. It has also been blamed for a
lot of cultural values erosion with in some instances complete override of the indigenous ways of life
that the original inhabitants subscribed to. Green development is an urban development approach that
utilizes green infrastructural growth and is aimed at alleviating negative impacts, or ideally have a net
positive impact, on the environment and nearby ecosystems. Green

Essay on The Heart of Tragedy Based on Oedipus Rex
During the Ancient Greek period, Aristotle, a great philosopher, wrote a book called the Poetics to
describe what makes a great tragic play. Using the Oedipus Rex by Sophocles as the basis for his
book, Aristotle goes into great detail about plot, character, and much more, breaking up the
components of a tragedy. Since Oedipus Rex had a huge part in the creation of Aristotle s book, it
fulfills many of the Greek philosopher s requirements for a tragic play.
According to Aristotle, plot is one of the most important components of a tragedy. It must have a clear
beginning, middle, and a cascade of events leading to the ending. The incentive moment in Oedipus
Rex is when Creon comes back from visiting the oracle at Delphi with news on how to ... Show more

At the end of the novel he is left a blind man with only his daughter.
Spectacle is the act of avoiding violence and having ferocious events take place offstage to stop the
evocation of the emotions pity and fear. These feelings are evoked in Oedipus Rex because if bad
things happened to a good man, then they can happen to anyone. However, pity and fear are kept at
bay when the messenger relays Jocasta s suicide and Oedipus s act of self harm because they didn t
witness the events that took place offstage.
Dues ex Machina is the idea that an unexpected power, such as the gods, will come and fix the
situation. Aristotle dismisses this idea, believing that it is better to have a realistic and practical plot or
else it will take away the story. Two good places to have divine intervention in Oedipus Rex would
have been either before Oedipus left his adoptive parents or before he had unknowingly killed his
father. A god or a higher being could have informed him of his origins and the curse, and he could
have prevented the murder of his father and marriage to his mother. Instead, without the use of dues ex
machina, Oedipus fulfilled the prophecy which resulted in his downfall.
Oedipus Rex by Sophocles embodies all of what Aristotle described to be a proper tragedy in his book
Poetics. The plot is a clear and concise beginning, middle, and end that starts with a cause that results
in many effects, one of which

My Favourite Friend
It was a pleasant day,I can plainly recall that ,not long ago,we were in class 8th then. The sun was at
the highest point, shining gay,and we three,Arpita Varshneya,Pragati and I,were there in the sun
devising a plan to take revenge on our so called teaser friend, Rishika, the award winning prankster
and our friend from the next door, class 8 B. Friendship with this girl was a kind of compromise for
we three, for she lived in our colony and had known us since childhood.Although, she seemed nice by
her talks,as any new person might be mistaken for her being a nice girl, her other side was known only
to her friends. As I mentioned earlier, she was literally an award winning prankster, the dupes, the
unfortunates who had been fair games of this trickster, must surely have cussed her of her goofy
antics. We have been friends since first grade, but her this side was exposed to me first only when one
day she tried on her favourite magician s,Julius Dein s,trick on me and under the trick s name, ate my
whole pizza. Since then, arpita, pragati and I have always been the victims of her tricks. It was just a
day before that when she, at pragati s birthday party, threw the whole big cake on her face in over
excitement; wretched, we had to survive without the cake on birthday!Back before that, when we were
leaving for home after our coaching class, she perforated the tyre of my bicycle and I had to drag my
bicycle all the way home. And not to forget about the April fools day, such a fearful day

The And Human Impact On Society
Time to Change Where to Start?
Financial reporting alone does not take into consideration the social, economic, and environmental
responsibilities of a business. On the other hand, financial reporting along with sustainability reporting
interconnects these responsibilities, and offers more comprehensive information about the financial
and human impact on society. Sustainability reporting discloses other relevant information about a
company that financial reporting lacks. Currently, laws and regulations are not designed with policies
and procedures to accommodate sustainability reporting. In order for companies to mitigate their risks
and environmental impact, as well as provide reliable reports, a mandatory sustainability report is ...

This more modern view of corporations is needed to level the playing field and facilitate stakeholders
confidence in businesses.
Success Stories
The sustainability reporting concept may still be new to a certain extent in the US. By contrast,
stakeholders have always demanded more transparency on financial reporting. Many countries in
Europe, Africa, and Asia have successfully adopted sustainability reporting as part of their corporate
governance. Interestingly, the US has lagged in fully embracing it. Companies that have opted to
integrate sustainability reporting have a distinct competitive advantage over those that only disclose its
financial position. Overtime, sustainability reporting contributes to the reduction of liabilities,
improves business performance, and adds value to society in general.
Some companies may think that sustainability reporting could have a negative impact in their
business. However, many businesses around the world are looking at it in the opposite manner. An
example is Johnson Johnson, a public traded company headquartered in New Brunswick, NJ. The
article A Model for Sustainability Reporting, issued by IMA in 2010, states that Johnson Johnson
began issuing formal sustainability reports in 1993 for which it has received widespread praise over
the years (Borkowski, Welsh, Wentzel, p. 30). Johnson Johnson is one of the top companies in the
United States to fully adopt sustainability, corporate social

Load Balancing
Load Balancing in Cellular Network through Cell Breathing network structure being much dispersed,
mobile AbstractIn cellular network, teletraffic continues to grow at a proliferating rate. Thus existing
networks often encounter undesirable phenomenon like call drop due to overloading of cells. To
overcome this problem, this thesis aims to perform load balancing using the technique of cell
breathing in a novel way. Unlike previous works on cell breathing, where the radius of the overloaded
cell was shrunk, this model proposes cell overlap. Here the coverage area of a lightly loaded
neighboring cell who s AP provides optimum power to the concerned clients, is expanded and

III. Objectives In our proposed cell breathing technique, the mobile switching centre (MSC)
performs the pre calculation as outlined: Before assigning a call to the base station or access point
(AP) of a cell, the MSC will check if the capacity of the cell is exceeded, i.e if it is getting overloaded.
In case of overloading, the received power of the client (to whom the call is directed) decreases below
the threshold. As such, the MSC searches which neighboring AP transmits optimum power to this
client and has free load i.e. its current load is less than its maximum capacity. Once such an AP is
found, its coverage area is expanded to serve the client of the neighboring AP and MSC assigns the
client to this new AP. Thus the overloading call is not dropped and the grade of service is improved.
Unlike previous works on cell breathing, where the radius of the

Finding a Neuromuscular Dentist
Neuromuscular dentists are not only concerned with the health of the teeth and gums, but with entire
system that allows us to chew, swallow and speak. The temporomandibular joint (or TMJ) is the
system of joints and muscles that allows us to open and close our mouths. Misalignment of this system
can lead to many painful symptoms.
Our practice focuses on finding the most harmonious position for the TMJ and the surrounding
tissues. Proper occlusion, or a good bite , is achieved by finding the optimal resting position of the
jaw. This will allow the rest of the body to align properly, and will help relieve painful symptoms.

Hofstede S Cultural Dimensions
Growth of research addressing the relationship between culture and consumption is exponential. Thus,
culture s influence on consumption and marketing had drawn increasing attention in recent years.
Hofstede s framework is the most widely used national cultural framework in psychology, sociology,
marketing and management studies. His dimensions were all constructed in such a way that they
addressed basic problems that all societies have to deal with. Thus, these dimensions of national
culture were constructed at the national level namely:
PDI: Power Distance Index
IDV: Individualism versus collectivism
MAS: Masculinity versus Femininity
UAI: Uncertainty Avoidance Index
In 1991, a fifth dimension has been added LTO Long Term versus ... Show more content on

The third dimension is MAS, where masculinity cultures such as Japan, Austria, Venezuela value
achievement and success; whereas femininity cultures such as Sweden and Norway stress caring for
others, interpersonal relationships and quality of life. Regarding the MAS index, Crotts and Erdmann
(2000) found visitors from less masculine cultures to be less critical and forgiving when evaluating
travel services compared with visitors from more masculine cultures, who are more assertive and
judgmental and evaluate airline service quality less positively and are less loyal to airlines.
UAI reflects the extent to which people feel threatened by uncertainty or ambiguity and try to avoid
these situations. Money and Crotts (2003) found that visitors from high uncertainty avoidance cultures
(e.g. Greece) engage in significantly more risk or uncertainty reducing behaviors such as purchasing
more often prepaid tour packages, travel in larger groups, stay for shorter periods, and visit fewer
destinations than their low uncertainty avoidance German counterparts when traveling internationally.
LTO refers to the preference for instant reward versus delayed reward. Countries such as Taiwan,
Japan, South Korea are long term orientated and stress thrift, hard work, dedication and savings. On
the other hand, cultures such as Pakistan are short term orientated that focus on tradition and social
obligations.
IND refers to the extent to which

The Dark Night Of The Soul And Heath Ledger
Various individuals seek answers through literate arts. While books can t always give us answers
about how to live our lives or how society works, we can still learn a lot. The truth of the matter is that
nobody can determine your future, but yourself. The literate arts can teach individuals different skills
or knowledge about society, but what you retain from the books will drastically affect your point of
view and actions. Through Millers essay, The Dark Night of the Soul and Heath Ledger, well known
for his role as the joker in the movie, Dark knight, is a good representation of how the literate arts can

Indentured Servants Essay example
Indentured Servants
Indentured servitude was the institutional arrangement devised to increase labor mobility from Europe
(particularly England) to America, and it was the labor system that preceded American slavery. Its
emergence in Virginia in the seventeenth century can be seen as a development expedient to the
circumstances surrounding the colony. Indentured servitude was practically the only way in which a
poor person could get to the colonies and planters could be supplied with cheap labor. Richard
Frethorne s document written in 1623, The Experiences of an Indentured Servant, legalized the master

Richard Frethorne was a young Englishman who came over to the New World in 1623 as an
indentured servant and settled in Virginia, near the Jamestown colony. His letter provides an
illuminating picture of the hardships of colonization in the early seventeenth century, especially for the
class of indentured servants. Combating homesickness, disease, hunger, discomfort, and isolation,
Frethorne and his fellow settlers struggled to make a success of their fledgling community. Life in
early Virginia was particularly difficult because of the shortage of supplies, the prevalence of disease,
and tense relations with the Native Americans. On March 22, 1622, the Powhatan chief
Opechancanough organized an attack on English settlements across the colony that killed between
three hundred and four hundred people. This attack, ignited by the recent murder of the great warrior
Nemattanew by the English, was intended to curb English expansion into native lands. As a result, the
English abandoned many outlying settlements and moved closer to or into Jamestown itself,
increasing the incidence of disease and death in the overcrowded village. The English retaliated by
destroying Indian crops. Frethorne alludes to this attack, in which eighty people from his outlying
settlement died, and which motivated the fear and harsh policies of the settlers toward the Indians.
Tensions between the two groups escalated over the next decade and climaxed in another attack by

Life In Milan Kundera s The Unbearable Lightness Of Being
In The Unbearable Lightness of Being , Milan Kundera informs readers that without the ability to
compare our lives to others, we cannot find meaning in our lives, but remain between life s lightness
and heaviness. He does this by illustrating the relationships between four characters: Tomas, Tereza,
Sabina, and Franz. The novel begins in the year 1968 with Tomas, who is a brilliant surgeon from
Prague and a perpetual bachelor. In a small town cafe, he fortuitously met Tereza, who was his
waitress; to Tereza, the moment was magical because one of her favorite compositions by Beethoven
was playing on the radio and that he enjoyed literature. Tereza evidently followed Tomas to Prague
with her life packed within a suitcase and she intended to offer her life to him. The two started living
with each other, but Tomas was incapable of terminating his bachelor lifestyle full of mistresses. He
tried to hide his infidelity, but Tereza found a letter from one of his mistresses, Sabina. She wrote to
Tomas saying, I want to make love to you in my studio. It will be like a stage surrounded by people.
The audience won t be allowed up close, but they won t be able to take their eyes off us. (Pg. 16).
Tomas confessed and told her that these sexual acts were separate from his love for her. This
information marred Tereza s mind; she starting having horrendous nightmares and began
contemplating suicide. He then married her, to relieve her of her distress. Yet he still kept his
mistresses. Eventually Sabina and Tereza become close friends, but Tereza s jealousy still remained
the same. Sabina, Tereza, and Tomas fled to Switzerland due to the Soviet Union inhabiting
Czechoslovakia. Tereza left behind her career as a photographer, became unemployed, and had to sit
home alone as Tomas continued his affairs. She then began to believe, when the strong were too weak
to hurt the weak, the weak have to be strong enough to leave. (Pg. 75). Then, she returned back to
Prague. Tomas was enjoying his liberation for a few days, but he gave up and left for Prague. This
evidently meant that the couple gave up their freedom because there was no chance that the couple
would be allowed to leave again due to the Communist regime. In

Compare And Contrast Martin Luther King Jr And Malcolm X
The Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and 1970s paved a way towards a more racially harmonious
America. Two famous men during this movement for the black community were Martin Luther King
Jr. and Malcolm X. Two very different men with two very different ideologies and two very different
strategies towards equality. One was credited as the Father of the Civil Rights Movement while
another one was a hostile extremist who encouraged violence only for self defense. Both men made an
impact on civil rights for the black community, but people were more gravitated towards King than
they were to Malcolm X. On August 28th, 1963; one of America s most memorable speakers gave one

two men were very popular in their time and had many followers, but the people tended to gravitate
more towards King than Malcolm X. King knew how to make his speeches memorable, not just by
who wrote it but how he wrote it. King used metaphors, used repetition, and quoted well known
documents in his speeches. I have dream is a well known and remembered phrase in his speech, but is
not said until closer to the end of his speech. One hundred years later... and Now is the time... and let
freedom ring... are also phrases King repeats. By using repetition in his speech, he made it more
memorable to his audience and made the meaning of his speech clearer. Using metaphors painted a
more illustrated picture for his audience. King described America s promise of freedom as a check
marked insufficient funds, which made his speech more illustrated and therefore, more memorable to
his audience. Malcolm X used metaphors as well, though did not use as much repetition in his speech
like King did. Malcolm X s speeches, while just as powerful, were not as memorable. His main points
were expressed, that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was a prophet and was the only means of
escape from the doomed White America. Malcolm X does not quote the Bible word for word but does
explain the prophets and their stories. The main prophet he uses is Moses, and he compares and
contrasts Moses to Elijah Muhammad. He compares how Pharaoh did not take Moses seriously and
that now White America is doing the same to Muhammad. Even comparing the Civil Right leaders to

sad even though Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy. Then after the sun close up fades the scene changes to
a long shot of part of a castle and the words Romeo and Juliet in white lettering appear on the screen. I
think the prologue doesn t have any extreme close ups which doesn t give any dramatic effects. I think
Franco Zefferelli wanted to create a peaceful prologue because of the man speaking in that scene and
the very long shot of the city of Verona with the camera moving slowly towards the sun, which is
peaceful. The next scene would than is a contrast to the business to the market place and the brutal

description and analysis of cultural systems (Shalinsky, 968). I chose to do the ethnographic interview
as I wanted to learn about someone else s experiences and hear a different point of view than my own.
I interviewed one of my Cambodian friends who asked if their name could be omitted for privacy
purposes. He and I met at a Starbucks so that I could conduct my interview in a relaxed setting where
my interviewee would feel comfortable and open to talk about his experiences as someone from
Southeast Asian descent. Throughout my interview, I asked him what stereotypes he has encountered
and what stereotype he himself projects onto others. He talked about how he goes about his day to day
life and how that causes him to be stereotyped in a certain way and the way that he makes assumptions
about others based on their lifestyles and appearances. I wanted to mainly focus on the ways that he
has been racially stereotyped, but I also wanted to be able to analyze any other stereotypes that people
may have developed towards him. Also, I asked him how other people stereotyping him affect him
and why he thinks that other people create and use stereotypes to define people that they do not know.
Michael Pickering defines stereotyping as gain and loss and can change the social

The King s Theory Of Moral Development
Lee Lebensbaum Psychology 05/25/2016 The King Says This: An Analysis of the Self Through
Various Psychological Theories It is not easy being born a king. From the days of my humble youth to
the present, my path to royal prestige has not been a clear path. The trials and tribulations I have
suffered were only to develop my character. So, I say this: Am I the number one contender for
valedictorian? No, I am not. Am I going off to Harvard to become a lawyer? No I am not. But the one
thing that I am is something you jabronies will never be. Regardless after every failing grade,
regardless after every tragic event, after every sickness, I still stand before you today as the People s...
King. And I think you would agree. Here is my story. My life closely mimics how Kohlberg described
in his theory of moral development. From the first stage of his theory of moral development, I recall
following orders to the letter. The punishment and threat thereof were terrifying. Detention,
suspension, expulsion were strong deterrents. Raised by very strict parents, I listened and obeyed
every command. School was the priority, and getting good grades was the most important thing to
them. Therefore, it was the most important thing to me. But as I grew, I began to see conflict in what
my parents saw was right and what the teachers said was right. This lead me to stage two of Kohlberg
s theory of moral development that different people will have different opinions on what is right. I had

The Historical Inaccuracy Of Bradford s Plain Style
The Historical Inaccuracy of Bradford s Plain Style In the 1600 s, the Mayflower sailed across the
Atlantic Ocean carrying a number of passengers to the New World, one of which was William
Bradford. While on his journey to the New World, Bradford began to write a narrative conveying all
that had happened, entitled Of Plymouth Plantation. He would continue writing this narrative well into
the colony s settlement. In Bradford s narrative, he writes using a plain style of writing with direct
statements, simple sentences, and everyday language of the time period it was written in. William
Bradford s use of plain style in Of Plymouth Plantation beneficially portrays the experience of the
Pilgrims, but his lack of details in an attempt to portray God s message alters the reality as accurately

In Of Plymouth Plantation, William Bradford states, Which, they digging up, found in them divers fair
Indian baskets filled with corn. [...] and took with them part of the corn and buried the rest. (Bradford

they stole the corn from a Native American and left them without food for the next planting season.
Also, upon their arrival in America, many died of starvation or resorted to cannibalism due to a lack of
supplies, which was also excluded from Bradford s narrative. Within the first year of the Pilgrim s
colonization of the New World, only half had survived, but with William Bradford s lack of details
from his use of plain style, the overall experience of the Pilgrims was distinguished as entirely more
joyful and spiritual compared to the reality where they all were disease ridden, starving, and

Millay. Edna St. Vincent Millay was born on the February 22, 1892, in Rockland, Maine, United

Vincent Millay had published her first poem in 1912, which won her a scholarship into Vassar College
in New York, America. Furthermore, Love is not all is a poem that is enthuasitic, disillusionment and
was published on 1931.
The poem begins by describing many things that love cannot do, including its inability to heal. The
poet observes, however, that many have died for lack of love alone ; and considers whether, in
moments of suffering, she would trade love (which keeps the individual alive) for peace/release.
Although the poem by Edna St. Vincent Millay is short, the first half of the poem deals with what love
cannot do. Love is not a lifesaver, shelter, or a doctor. The second half is about the power that love
has. Love is not all is a sonnet with a traditional structure of octave and sestet in its fourteen lines. Its

Elie Wiesel Sparknotes
Night is just one of many memoirs by Elie Wiesel, who survived the Holocaust. Wiesel feels
compelled to bear witness to the suffering that he experienced and observed in the concentration
camps. In Night he narrates the experience of the deaths of his family members, the death of his
adolescence, and the death of his naïve belief in mans innate goodness. At the beginning of the book,
with nothing else to cling onto, prisoners in camps hold onto their family members. The most
important thing to do is staying with your for as long as possible. Elie Wiesel was born on September
30th, 1928, in Sighet. Sighet was a small town in Transylvania that was apart of Romania but became
part of Hungary in 1940. Elie and his family spoke Yiddish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Elie realizes his father doesn t have enough strength to live on his own. Its too late to save your old
father, I said to myself (pg 105). He felt guilty because he couldn t help his dad. He begins to rely on
himself because he knows that only he could help himself in his time of need. Elie stays in
Buchenwald after his father dies for a few months. SS officers removed thousands of prisoners
everyday until the camps were empty. American tanks arrive in Buchenwald to free the jews. The free
men stuff their bodies with food and Elie does the same, getting food poisoning. Although Night isn t
necessarily a memoir, since the works mixture of testimony, deposition, and emotional truth telling
renders it similar to works in the memoir genre. Its clear that Elie is meant to serve, to a great extent,
as the authors stand in and representative. All of my points in this essay connect on the story Night. It
beats around the bush of the story not making it plagiarized and still on point of the story. There were
less survivors in the Holocaust than there were deaths. But a lot did make it out before being gassed,
hung, burned, shot, and buried. Elie beared witness,

Daisy s Idea Of Social Breakdown In The Great Gatsby
He had discovered...made him physically sick. (Fitzgerald CH7). The feeling that George Wilson had
when he saw Daisy with another guy made him realize how much Daisy meant to him and seemed to
be a common feeling within the characters in the story. In this story, many people fell in love with
someone and had all the feelings in the world for them, but the other person either didn t know or may
not feel the same way. This also happens in the real world with many people and many people end up
upset over it because they like the person so much which helps support Fitzgerald s idea of social
breakdown and how the feeling happens in the story and in the real world now and back then. The
modernistic characteristic teaches us that Fitzgerald could ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And what s more, I love Daisy...and in my heart I love her all the time. This quote shows that Tom felt
no shame in what he did and takes advantage of Daisy s love for Tom. Tom relates to people in the
real world that don t feel shame after cheating on their spouse. Many people see it as if it is alright to
cheat on someone and don t think about the decision they ve made. As the story went on and Daisy
found out more and more about the cheating, she got tired of dealing with it and ended up killing
Myrtle which is very ironic because her husband was cheating on her with Myrtle. This is an example
of social breakdown because in society it s wrong to kill somebody. Daisy killed her out of anger and
jealousy which still would never make it right to kill somebody. She should ve left Tom and let him go
on with life with Myrtle. At the beginning of the story, Nick realizes quickly how wrong Tom and
Daisy s marriage is. When Tom has his mistress call him during dinner Jordan is caught by surprise
when Nick did not know about his affair. From this example, it is easy to assume that Tom at this point
in the story became infamous among his colleagues because of his

Racism is prejudice or discrimination directed against someone of a different race based on such a
belief. An example of racism in the public services comes from a news report on channel 4 earlier this
year. The report tells how there has 120 racism cases in the Metropolitan Police over the past decade,

Ethnocentricity is being centred on a specific ethnic group, usually one s own. An example of
ethnocentricity in the public services is in training. Every public service member is taught to not let
ethnocentric views affect their behaviour towards others. Currently there has been no media reporting

Sexism
Sexism is prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex. An
example of sexism in the public services is in the fire brigade. Many people refer to fire fighters as
firemen even though there are women in the fire brigade. A report from The Guardian in April 2012
tells the true stories of female fire fighters battles to get recognition as they are in the most sex

Diction In Ralph Waldo Emerson s Education
Emerson from Education is trying to spread his message that the current school education is not in the
perfect shape but rather in a broken state. Because of the problem, the students are not able to learn as
well. Emerson gets his message out by using diction to strengthen his position and Emerson also
appeals to pathos. In Education , Emerson uses diction as a way to keep audiences engaged in what he
is trying to argue. Emerson uses the words drill and labor to create a hostile tone which enhances his
message that the school system is broken (Emerson). The word drill in this context is used as an
aggressive move. The author uses the word drill instead of teaches because the word drill makes the

A Comparison Of George Sand And Frederic Chopin s The...
In nineteenth century France power and success relied greatly on your gender. If you were a man you
were supposed to be powerful and be a womanizer. If you were a woman you were supposed to be
dependent on men and act properly when in public. Sand was an independent woman who wanted to
be an acclaimed writer based on her writings rather than her looks. Chopin wanted to be successful
without causing an uproar of emotions. George Sand and Frederic Chopin defied these social
conventions for the way genders were supposed to act in the nineteenth century.

They would step out of their gender roles to create masterpieces. It seemed back in the nineteenth
century that both of them were out of their minds. Now a days, they would be praised for being
pioneers. Pioneers that did not let anything stop them. That lesson could be applied to life now. Sand
did not let the fact that she was a woman stop her from taking many lovers and becoming a coveted
writer in France. Lessons could also be learned from Chopin. Like how a man should not be afraid to
be with a successful woman. He should also be man enough to now that he does not have to be the
dominant one in the relationship. As much as their works of literature and music should be coveted;
Their passion for being the selves unapologetically should be coveted as much if not more. I know
that after watching this film and learning how they were, I feel more confident being myself. Much
like nowadays with the revolution being created by Caitlynn Jenner and how we perceive people.
Instead, of looking at the exterior we should look at the emotional make up of a person. And take each

The Value Of Retaining Employees
Laura Michaud expresses the importance and what it takes to retain employees in her article, The
Value of Retaining Employees. It s hard to retain employees especially when opposing organizations
try to influence employees with offers of more money or more perks. Michaud discusses five
important retention tips that will keep employees happy; build relationships, offer praise, listen, create
a fun environment, and strengthen the team. Retention is important for a company because losing
employees can potentially cost a lot of money. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, it costs a
company one third of a new hire s annual salary to replace him or her (Michaud 2000). The direct

Building relationships and sharing information allows employees to feel appreciated and important.
Another way to strengthen employee retention is to offer praise. Offering praise helps build morale.
Employees need to feel appreciated when they do a job well done. Another important tip Michaud
discusses is for employers to listen to their employees. Employees will be open to discuss their needs
and wants about job related issues. It s important to listen and understand what they are saying and not
dismiss their thoughts as unimportant. Michaud goes on to say that one of the easiest ways to retain
employees is to create a fun work environment. Having fun at work creates a bond by making people
feel a part of things. Studies have shown that humor also helps alleviate stress (Michaud 2000). The
last tip discussed in the article is to continue to strengthen the team. Any company is only as strong as
the weakest employee so it s important to hire those people whose strengths are the company s
weaknesses. Employers need to do whatever they can to keep their current staff while attracting the
best possible applicants for future employment. This study matches my expectations. In my
workplace, the most common reason for employee turnover is due to relationship conflicts. Most of
the conflicts that occur within this organization revolve around a lack of proper communication and
trust. Employees respond better to those

  • 4. Tiananmen Analysis Zach Cowburn April 18, 2016 The Reach of Tiananmen Throughout history we have seen staggered periods of rising global democracy. Specifically The third wave is seen as a time of soviet communist satellites and curtain countries turning democratic. We see great success in democratization in the more western European former soviet states. Often times these transitions were remarkably peaceful as in the many colored revolutions. One case that stands out as an example of a failure to democratize is within China. With many communist states questioning their governance it was natural for Chinese citizens to express these same idea concerns. What we see though instead of the European style peaceful transition is a small scale political movement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the administration inaction was a sign of weakness and of bending to the rebellion at hand. For almost all of China s civilized history the people have been ruled by an authoritarian empire or governance. This sort of lax attitude would not be tolerated by the political elite traditionalists. The protestors and world knew the government would clear the square eventually. They managed to occupy the square for the famous visit of Mikhail Gorbachev and for some time after. With what ended up in a virtual standoff between entrenched protestors and the army there was few options left for trying to effectively run a country with its capital square shut down. Many of the protestors as well as Chai Ling thought the army would only beat the protestors and use plastic bullets. This thought while valid in context of rationalized response in a liberal democracy environment does not fit the political landscape in which the students were involved in. The government considered the occupation a rebellion and those involved potential enemies of state who escalated the non violent protests that Tiananmen Square stood for into fire bomb battles with the army. • 5. The Dissonances Of God And God In The Iliad Some of the things that define an individual and its behavior are the culture and ideals in its residence. These ideals and culture prove that each and everyone one of us is unique. For example, an ideal Greek citizen is versatile, clever, a leader, an orator, adaptable and tricky while an ideal Hebrew citizen is wise, obedient, studious, righteous, inadequate, and is able to converse with God. In Hebrew literature, God is just and merciful and the humans are inadequate. On the other hand, in Greek literature, gods are powerful and self centered, and the humans are the ones responsible for the community. The difference between the two is apparent, and considering these evident differences, we can also reason out that the way how the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Naomi learned that the person Ruth had worked for was Boaz, a kinsman, she thought that Boaz could be Ruth s redeemer that was why she sent her daughter in law to Boaz. Daughter, is it not my duty to see you happily settled? And Boaz, the man with whose work women you were, is he not our kinsman? Tonight he will be winnowing the barley on the threshing floor. So wash and perfume yourself, put on your cloak and go down to the threshing floor...take note where he lies, then go and turn back the covering at his feet and lie down yourself. He will tell you what to do. (Verses 1 4, Chapter 3) When Boaz saw Ruth, he asked her who she was and Ruth answered, I am your servant Ruth. Spread the skirt of your cloak over your servant for you have the right of redemption over me. However, even if Boaz already has the right of redemption over Ruth because of what Ruth did, he still cannot acquire her because Ruth has a kinsman closer than Boaz himself. • 6. Gentrification Is A General Term For The Expansion Of... Gentrification is a general term for the arrival of wealthier people in an existing urban district, a related increase in rents and property values, and changes in the district s character and culture. The word draws controversy not only in its definition and meaning but also in the impact it has among human social life. It is a practice that is of ancient origin and has withstood the challenges of evolving times and is still practiced in the contemporary world. Proposers and opponents alike of the gentrifying phenomena take advantage of the numerous myths and misconceptions that surround the practice to advance their arguments. Urban planners have rooted for the inclusion of gentrification as one of the pillars of urban growth. With better economic status better roads, better water supply system, better healthcare, reduced criminal activities and an overall uplifting of the quality of life economically it is hard to argue against an overall gain from gentrification. Yet with all this, it has been the source of a lot of widespread animosity between social classes. It has also been blamed for a lot of cultural values erosion with in some instances complete override of the indigenous ways of life that the original inhabitants subscribed to. Green development is an urban development approach that utilizes green infrastructural growth and is aimed at alleviating negative impacts, or ideally have a net positive impact, on the environment and nearby ecosystems. • 7. Essay on The Heart of Tragedy Based on Oedipus Rex During the Ancient Greek period, Aristotle, a great philosopher, wrote a book called the Poetics to describe what makes a great tragic play. Using the Oedipus Rex by Sophocles as the basis for his book, Aristotle goes into great detail about plot, character, and much more, breaking up the components of a tragedy. Since Oedipus Rex had a huge part in the creation of Aristotle s book, it fulfills many of the Greek philosopher s requirements for a tragic play. According to Aristotle, plot is one of the most important components of a tragedy. It must have a clear beginning, middle, and a cascade of events leading to the ending. The incentive moment in Oedipus Rex is when Creon comes back from visiting the oracle at Delphi with news on how to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the end of the novel he is left a blind man with only his daughter. Spectacle is the act of avoiding violence and having ferocious events take place offstage to stop the evocation of the emotions pity and fear. These feelings are evoked in Oedipus Rex because if bad things happened to a good man, then they can happen to anyone. However, pity and fear are kept at bay when the messenger relays Jocasta s suicide and Oedipus s act of self harm because they didn t witness the events that took place offstage. Dues ex Machina is the idea that an unexpected power, such as the gods, will come and fix the situation. Aristotle dismisses this idea, believing that it is better to have a realistic and practical plot or else it will take away the story. Two good places to have divine intervention in Oedipus Rex would have been either before Oedipus left his adoptive parents or before he had unknowingly killed his father. A god or a higher being could have informed him of his origins and the curse, and he could have prevented the murder of his father and marriage to his mother. Instead, without the use of dues ex machina, Oedipus fulfilled the prophecy which resulted in his downfall. Oedipus Rex by Sophocles embodies all of what Aristotle described to be a proper tragedy in his book Poetics. The plot is a clear and concise beginning, middle, and end that starts with a cause that results in many effects, one of which ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Favourite Friend It was a pleasant day,I can plainly recall that ,not long ago,we were in class 8th then. The sun was at the highest point, shining gay,and we three,Arpita Varshneya,Pragati and I,were there in the sun devising a plan to take revenge on our so called teaser friend, Rishika, the award winning prankster and our friend from the next door, class 8 B. Friendship with this girl was a kind of compromise for we three, for she lived in our colony and had known us since childhood.Although, she seemed nice by her talks,as any new person might be mistaken for her being a nice girl, her other side was known only to her friends. As I mentioned earlier, she was literally an award winning prankster, the dupes, the unfortunates who had been fair games of this trickster, must surely have cussed her of her goofy antics. We have been friends since first grade, but her this side was exposed to me first only when one day she tried on her favourite magician s,Julius Dein s,trick on me and under the trick s name, ate my whole pizza. Success Stories The sustainability reporting concept may still be new to a certain extent in the US. By contrast, stakeholders have always demanded more transparency on financial reporting. Many countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia have successfully adopted sustainability reporting as part of their corporate governance. Interestingly, the US has lagged in fully embracing it. Companies that have opted to integrate sustainability reporting have a distinct competitive advantage over those that only disclose its financial position. Overtime, sustainability reporting contributes to the reduction of liabilities, improves business performance, and adds value to society in general. Some companies may think that sustainability reporting could have a negative impact in their business. However, many businesses around the world are looking at it in the opposite manner. Load Balancing Load Balancing in Cellular Network through Cell Breathing network structure being much dispersed, mobile AbstractIn cellular network, teletraffic continues to grow at a proliferating rate. Thus existing networks often encounter undesirable phenomenon like call drop due to overloading of cells. To overcome this problem, this thesis aims to perform load balancing using the technique of cell breathing in a novel way. Unlike previous works on cell breathing, where the radius of the overloaded cell was shrunk, this model proposes cell overlap. With the increasing popularity of cellular phones and arrival of giant phone companies, cellular traffic continued to III. Objectives In our proposed cell breathing technique, the mobile switching centre (MSC) performs the pre calculation as outlined: Before assigning a call to the base station or access point (AP) of a cell, the MSC will check if the capacity of the cell is exceeded, i.e if it is getting overloaded. In case of overloading, the received power of the client (to whom the call is directed) decreases below the threshold. As such, the MSC searches which neighboring AP transmits optimum power to this client and has free load i.e. its current load is less than its maximum capacity. Once such an AP is found, its coverage area is expanded to serve the client of the neighboring AP and MSC assigns the client to this new AP. Thus the overloading call is not dropped and the grade of service is improved. Unlike previous works on cell breathing, where the radius of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

UAI reflects the extent to which people feel threatened by uncertainty or ambiguity and try to avoid these situations. Money and Crotts (2003) found that visitors from high uncertainty avoidance cultures (e.g. Greece) engage in significantly more risk or uncertainty reducing behaviors such as purchasing more often prepaid tour packages, travel in larger groups, stay for shorter periods, and visit fewer destinations than their low uncertainty avoidance German counterparts when traveling internationally. Indentured servitude was practically the only way in which a poor person could get to the colonies and planters could be supplied with cheap labor. His letter provides an illuminating picture of the hardships of colonization in the early seventeenth century, especially for the class of indentured servants. Combating homesickness, disease, hunger, discomfort, and isolation, Frethorne and his fellow settlers struggled to make a success of their fledgling community. Life in early Virginia was particularly difficult because of the shortage of supplies, the prevalence of disease, and tense relations with the Native Americans. On March 22, 1622, the Powhatan chief Opechancanough organized an attack on English settlements across the colony that killed between three hundred and four hundred people. This attack, ignited by the recent murder of the great warrior Nemattanew by the English, was intended to curb English expansion into native lands. As a result, the English abandoned many outlying settlements and moved closer to or into Jamestown itself, increasing the incidence of disease and death in the overcrowded village. The English retaliated by destroying Indian crops. Frethorne alludes to this attack, in which eighty people from his outlying settlement died, and which motivated the fear and harsh policies of the settlers toward the Indians. Life In Milan Kundera s The Unbearable Lightness Of Being In The Unbearable Lightness of Being , Milan Kundera informs readers that without the ability to compare our lives to others, we cannot find meaning in our lives, but remain between life s lightness and heaviness. He does this by illustrating the relationships between four characters: Tomas, Tereza, Sabina, and Franz. The novel begins in the year 1968 with Tomas, who is a brilliant surgeon from Prague and a perpetual bachelor. In a small town cafe, he fortuitously met Tereza, who was his waitress; to Tereza, the moment was magical because one of her favorite compositions by Beethoven was playing on the radio and that he enjoyed literature. Tereza evidently followed Tomas to Prague with her life packed within a suitcase and she intended to offer her life to him. The two started living with each other, but Tomas was incapable of terminating his bachelor lifestyle full of mistresses. He tried to hide his infidelity, but Tereza found a letter from one of his mistresses, Sabina. She wrote to Tomas saying, I want to make love to you in my studio. It will be like a stage surrounded by people. The audience won t be allowed up close, but they won t be able to take their eyes off us. (Pg. 16). Tomas confessed and told her that these sexual acts were separate from his love for her. This information marred Tereza s mind; she starting having horrendous nightmares and began contemplating suicide. He then married her, to relieve her of her distress. Yet he still kept his mistresses. Eventually Sabina and Tereza become close friends, but Tereza s jealousy still remained the same. Sabina, Tereza, and Tomas fled to Switzerland due to the Soviet Union inhabiting Czechoslovakia. Tereza left behind her career as a photographer, became unemployed, and had to sit home alone as Tomas continued his affairs. She then began to believe, when the strong were too weak to hurt the weak, the weak have to be strong enough to leave. (Pg. 75). Then, she returned back to Prague. Tomas was enjoying his liberation for a few days, but he gave up and left for Prague. This evidently meant that the couple gave up their freedom because there was no chance that the couple would be allowed to leave again due to the Communist regime. In ... Both men made an impact on civil rights for the black community, but people were more gravitated towards King than they were to Malcolm X. These two men were very popular in their time and had many followers, but the people tended to gravitate more towards King than Malcolm X. King knew how to make his speeches memorable, not just by who wrote it but how he wrote it. King used metaphors, used repetition, and quoted well known documents in his speeches. I have dream is a well known and remembered phrase in his speech, but is not said until closer to the end of his speech. One hundred years later... and Now is the time... and let freedom ring... are also phrases King repeats. By using repetition in his speech, he made it more memorable to his audience and made the meaning of his speech clearer. Using metaphors painted a more illustrated picture for his audience. King described America s promise of freedom as a check marked insufficient funds, which made his speech more illustrated and therefore, more memorable to his audience. Malcolm X used metaphors as well, though did not use as much repetition in his speech like King did. Malcolm X s speeches, while just as powerful, were not as memorable. His main points were expressed, that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was a prophet and was the only means of escape from the doomed White America. Malcolm X does not quote the Bible word for word but does explain the prophets and their stories. The main prophet he uses is Moses, and he compares and contrasts Moses to Elijah Muhammad. Then after the sun close up fades the scene changes to a long shot of part of a castle and the words Romeo and Juliet in white lettering appear on the screen. I think the prologue doesn t have any extreme close ups which doesn t give any dramatic effects. I think Franco Zefferelli wanted to create a peaceful prologue because of the man speaking in that scene and the very long shot of the city of Verona with the camera moving slowly towards the sun, which is peaceful. The next scene would than is a contrast to the business to the market place and the brutal between the two families. Audrey Shalinsky defines ethnographic fieldwork as a scientific and artistic approach to the description and analysis of cultural systems (Shalinsky, 968). I chose to do the ethnographic interview as I wanted to learn about someone else s experiences and hear a different point of view than my own. I interviewed one of my Cambodian friends who asked if their name could be omitted for privacy purposes. He and I met at a Starbucks so that I could conduct my interview in a relaxed setting where my interviewee would feel comfortable and open to talk about his experiences as someone from Southeast Asian descent. Throughout my interview, I asked him what stereotypes he has encountered and what stereotype he himself projects onto others. He talked about how he goes about his day to day life and how that causes him to be stereotyped in a certain way and the way that he makes assumptions about others based on their lifestyles and appearances. I wanted to mainly focus on the ways that he has been racially stereotyped, but I also wanted to be able to analyze any other stereotypes that people may have developed towards him. Also, I asked him how other people stereotyping him affect him and why he thinks that other people create and use stereotypes to define people that they do not know. School was the priority, and getting good grades was the most important thing to them. Therefore, it was the most important thing to me.
