Running records are a technique for assessing students' reading progress over time. The teacher records all errors, self-corrections, and reading behaviors to analyze the student's reading process. This provides insights into strengths, needs, and reading strategies. Scores are calculated for accuracy, error, and self-correction rates to determine the student's independent, instructional, and frustration reading levels. Implementing running records in Belizean classrooms could help improve reading performance by better identifying individual student needs.
