of students and adopt suitable remediation
measures for the same
4. To award JUDICIOUS grades to students in
various competencies
FOR THE STUDENTS
Ensure that
1. The syllabus is completed.
2. Some quality revision is carried out
3. Discuss the pattern of question paper and the weightage allotted
to each competency especially in higher classes.
PARALLEL TEACHERS
1. The parallel teachers must be consulted before setting the paper
for ascertaining the lessons and the areas of testing
2. All the test items should be shown to the parallel teachers and
not just the type of question paper
PLANNING FOR THE QUESTION PAPER
A lesson wise blueprint should be prepared and submitted along with
the question paper to avoid repetition of questions and testing of all
areas

There are four pen paper tests in an academic year – Two in each
Term
Tips:
1. A minimum of TWO sets of question papers should be set for
each test
2. The Exam in charge may select a suitable one . The other one
can be used for re-tests and in any other value added manner

1. Question papers must be submitted to the exam dept
with the signature of all the parallel teachers. For
questions which can have more than one answer, a small
note may be added
2. The Subject Conveners should check the paper and sign
it too
3. The Subject Conveners are responsible for the quality
and standard of the paper in all respects
1. Take help from the question papers set earlier by their
predecessors, but don't merely copy them. Use your
own imagination, knowledge, technique to add / replace
the content
2. While taking help from text book questions given under
a particular lesson, take an utmost care to see that the
question should not just be copied in the same format
as given under the lesson
3. Divide your questions in the 'essay type' and 'objective'
type format
4. Read the question paper at least once to make
5. any revisions / corrections in spelling and grammar
etc. before submitting it
6. Make a justifiable distribution of marks depending on
the effort the child has to make in answering the
question
7. It is advisable to get your question paper checked by
some one else before submission
1. No repetition of questions within a question paper and
from test paper to test paper. The area tested can be
the same but the question must be framed differently
2. If questions from the previous year paper are being
sourced, they need to be reframed suitably
3. Marking scheme is balanced
