The Tax System Of South Africa
As there aren t two eggs are identical, tax systems are vary from country to country. Each country
has its own rules and principles to levy taxes from its citizens and foreigner to whom conducts
business in
South Africa to support the operation of its country. When a country s own residents or citizens

Income is taxed in the country where that income originates,
irrespective of the legal or physical residence of the recipient of income under the source based tax
system. Even though South Africa Adopted the residence based system in 2011, many states still will
tax
the income derived by a person from commercial activities undertaken in their states, hence a source
based system of tax imposes a taxation liability on income arising within a specific jurisdiction or
territory.
From the Appellate Division of Kerguelen Sealing Whaling Co., Ltd v CIR ˡ, the fundamental
logic of a residence based tax system has been contrasted to that of a source based system in the
following: In some countries residence (or domicile) is made the test of liability for the reason,

The Collective Societal Memory Of The World War II Essay
Elizabeth Heineman argued in her article that the collective societal memory of the experiences of
German women in the immediate aftermath of World War II greatly contributed to the development of
West German national identity, and directly influenced their eventual status in the partitioned
country.1 She suggested that in order to fully comprehend this history of memories it was necessary to
understand the distinctions and interconnections between what she refereed to as counter , popular ,
and official memories.2 In order to support this argument, the author conducted a series of formulaic
analyses on the German perception toward women in three major areas of Post War German cultural
memory; war rapes by Soviet soldiers; the experiences of women who rebuilt the nation and the
economy without much assistance from men; and finally those women who fraternized with Allied
soldiers. She began her formula by first exploring the universalization of certain aspects of what
became the stereotypical female experience of Germans at the end of World War II through the
immediate post war years.3 Next, she examined the effects of the universalization of the female
German experience upon the formation of the West German national identity.4 This second point was
further elaborated with an analysis of the relationship between counter memories of subordinate
groups and the public or popular memories of the dominant culture, national identity, and culture of
West Germany.5

This is one such illustration of checking environment utilizing modern day tools and programs
During an UN Commission meeting in 1983, Norwegian Prime Minister Brundtland came to express a
stand amongst the most thorough meanings of sustainability: helping the present without trading off
the capability of future eras to help s (WCED Report, 1987).
From that point on wards, subjects identified with sustainability multiplied and passed past the macro
level by likewise embracing mezzo and micro levels as unit of investigation. To express this all this in
detail, a macro point of view reflects a group level perspective, while a mezzo point of view embraces
organisation and focuses on organization level focus plan, and a micro viewpoint analyses an
individual s level of study and research on a certain topic. In this structure, the issue ends up being an
open deliberation of giving sustainability to the group, to the organisations ( business endeavour being
one of them) and to the people .
Analysis on Monitoring System:
Monitoring system plays a huge role in sustainability attainment. Indicators play a significant part in
monitoring frameworks and are extremely significant and could help us track the outcomes of arriving
at success levels in sustainability. Indicators for instance, ISO 14000 could help us get recognised by
individuals as an ethical firm. The ISO accreditation will help them maintain the benchmark. The

I Was Driving Home From School Essay
I was driving home from school when all the sudden I see a light flashing on the dash of my car. It was
the oil light telling me that it was time to have an oil change, so instead of driving home I went
straight to the toyota dealership because at the time I drove a Toyota Landcruiser. When I got there
they handed me a clipboard full of information i needed to fill out. It took me a full ten minutes to
complete and even after all that they still handed me more papers to write my signature on, I thought
to myself, all that for a simple oil change . After finally completing all the paperwork a man took me
to the dealerships waiting room and told me that my oil change should not take long. I was happy to
hear that because I wanted to be on my way. I only expected to be there for 25 to 30 minutes, so after
20 minutes I started looking at the door hoping someone would walk in and tell me they finished the
oil change. Ten minutes later and still nothing. I was getting very impatient and I was starting to work
an appetite. The worst part is they had the food channel on and no remote for me to change the
channel with, so i got up and went to go find a vending machine. Near the car displays they had a
popcorn machine so i scooped myself a small bag full. The popcorn was super salty and stale and what
made it even worse was there was no water to be found. So now i m sitting back in the waiting room
hungry and thirsty with a bag of uneaten popcorn, and still no word about my car. A

Client Development On Their Company
I would like to acknowledge the client development on their company, which makes a granite cleaning
product. Being a sole proprietorship, our new client made a big accomplishment because the product
has been sold in many major retail stores. This only brings big and better ideas to an individual owner
of a company. While the client was involved in the sole proprietorship, there were different
characteristics of the business that the expansion was required to be utilized, but there were still issues
within the business. The client has informed me that they have recently encountered a problem with

There will be many different, individuals, contracts, laws, and risks that the clients will have to face in
order to accomplish their goal for their business. Hopson also mentioned that there are advantages and
disadvantages of the various entity choices for a growing small business that an owner intends to pass
on to family members or sell upon retirement. Advisors must ensure that business owners understand
the asset protection issues, tax advantages, and estate planning implications for the entity choice that
the client will choose (2014, p.42).
Before making the decision of the business entity, it is important that the client understands the
different aspect of each of the business entities. With this in mind, small business owners and their
advisors should examine the alternatives available (Miller, 2014, p.43). The client needs to be
informed that going from a sole proprietorship to other business entities such as partnership, limited
liability company, partnership s, and corporation required a lot of research. A partnership required two
or more individuals in an agreement to carry on as a co worker of a business. It is important that both
individuals have a professional and positive relationship in order to accomplish their goal together.
The partnership is split up into two types of partnership, which is general and limited. The difference
between the partnerships is that the general partnership doesn t require formation, but limited

Montesquieu Separation Of Power Part 1
PART 1(BULLETS 1 2) Popular sovereignty is the governments control should be based off of the
approval of the citizens, and whom the citizens elect. A generic example would be the Democratic
principles of the united states of America. The root of popular sovereignty dates back to the 1600s,
when Hobbes, Rousseau, and Locke created these intellectual and philosophical views. These men as
well as the founding fathers wanted to establish a more stable government. They did this by making
every law not decided by the consent of the people, directly or indirectly unconstitutional and
illegitimate.
Separation of Powers is the disunion of one division to equally split the ability to different
subdivisions. A generic example would be the use of the branches in America to limit the power of one
person or group. This was created by Montesquieu and his three branches are judicial, executive, and
legislative. The origin of separation of power was in France by a man named Montesquieu. In his ...

populace.
PART 1(BULLETS 3 4)
Republicanism has increasing been growing within New Zealand. Their is speculation that the
government of New Zealand will be changing over from a monarchy to a republic. Recently the
people of New Zealand had a resurgence to keep a monarchy, but there was suspicion that this

the country. This demonstrates republicanism because the populous of New Zealand are turning into a
country ran by the people themselves, and not the Queen nor the King.

Older people are said to be a vulnerable group in society and it is notable that those with dementia are
at a significant increase torisk of abuse, (see Manthorpe, et al 2005). The author of this paper spent her

Nuclear Waste In Australia Essay
The overarching question of, Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia? will be
answered in this outcome. Nuclear waste is material that has been used in a nuclear reactor. It looks
exactly the same on the outside, as it did when it went into the reactor (see Figure 1). Once nuclear
fission has taken place inside the reactor to make electricity, the Uranium breaks into many unstable
isotopes. These isotopes will remain radioactive for thousands of years. Hence, the need for more
nuclear waste storage facilities. A storage facility in South Australia would be geographically perfect
and hold low level (plastic), intermediate (see Figure 2) and high level waste, like spent uranium fuel
cells. The answer will be supported and derived from multiple sources, including; my survey data,
expert reports, statistics, graphs and tables.
Overall Question Should Nuclear Waste be Disposed of in South Australia?
According to public voting records, two thirds of South Australian citizens, are against the proposal of

The Reason Why La Tomatina

safety concerns of oversize of the crowd the organizers cut amount of people who were joining the

unknown outside of the small village where it is held until somehow it caught the eye of some major

be thrown at. They replied that it is messy and people get hurt if they slip over. In this special
celebration, there is no political or religion importance to La Tomatina. In 1980, the organization of
the festival became the responsibility of the town. Soon this celebration became internationally
considerable and highly broadcasted by the use of international media. In the beginning, it was
forbidden in the early 1950 s but people spoke and the celebration was allowed with more contestants

The Roles Of Auditing And Assurance Services
Introduction
The role accounting firms played in the last financial crisis raised questions about the legitimacy of
auditing and assurance services. Auditors, who are considered independent and are supposed to
provide reliable information to financial statement users, played a major part in the financial
institutions crisis. The role of auditing is not to stop management from making poor business
decisions, but it is to make sure that those decisions are properly disclosed (Rapoport, 2010).
However, auditors failed to fulfill that role while auditing some of the largest financial institutions,
which led to a huge financial meltdown during the first decade of the 21st Century. As a result of the
financial crisis, questions regarding the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it is important to assure a greater independence and objectivity that offset the cost of

auditors allowed Lehman Brothers to use the off balance sheet financing method to hide its leverage.
Ernest Young helped Lehman Brothers, a company they audited for many years, to mislead investors
about the company s financial position which eventually led to its collapse.
Audit Deficiencies
External auditors could have prevented the collapse of large financial institutions by being more
skeptical and exercising professional due care while servicing their clients. In many cases, auditors
failed to obtain sufficient evidence supporting key assumption of management asset valuations, asset
ownerships or the use of accounting estimates. Ernst Young failed to exercise professional due care
while auditing Lehman Brothers.
Lehman Brothers used Repo 105 transactions that a British law firm approved for them to make its
balance sheet look better and Ernst Young agreed to the accounting management applied to these
transactions without actually examining any of the Repo 105 transactions. According to Tracy Coenen
(2010), Ernst and Young didn t even check the impact of these transactions on Lehman financial
statements, whether they are material to their balance sheet and therefore did

Country Profile on Finland
Country Profile on Finland
Finland is a republic located in Northern Europe between Sweden and Russia, with Norway to the
north. Finland is thought to have been settled soon after the Ice Age and first inhabited by the Sami
people. By the 12th century, Finns speakers had pushed the Sami people out and Christian mercenaries
were preparing to convert Finland. In 1157, as a result of a crusade led by Swedish King Eric IX,
Sweden conquered Finland and as such, converted Finland to Christianity. However, by 1809, Sweden
surrendered Finland to Russia. The Czar, Alexander I of Russia, set up Finland as a Grand Duchy,
establishing himself as its monarch.
In 1917, in the midst of the March Revolution in Russia, where Russians protested as a result of the
effects of World War I, Finland took advantage of the time to declare its independence from Russia. In
1919, Finland adopted the constitution that is still used today and became a republic. By 1939, Finland
was once again attacked by the Soviet Union. Joseph Stalin offered Finland territory in exchange for
land that would protect northern Russia from an attack from the west. However, Finland refused to
accept this offer and the Soviet Union used force to obtain the territory, starting The Winter War. After
a few months of resistance, The Finns lost and the war culminated with the Treaty of Moscow, which
resulted in Finland surrendering 1and to the Soviet Union.

The Positive And Negative Effects Of Barbie Dolls
The Positive and Negative Effects of Barbie Dolls in Society All around our world we are constantly
being told what we should act and be like for females and males. Barbie was born on March 9, 159 in
the American International Toy Fair in New York. The Barbie doll has been influencing young girls
ever since she was born. The Barbie doll have a huge influence on the way that girls perceive their
role in society and also on the way they develop. Barbie dolls in some way reflect and influence our
society values. Especially in our society today many views on the way Barbie dolls influence our
society are often negative and their ability to positively influence young females is often denied. The
Barbie Doll has been a cultural icon ever since it was first revealed. All over the world anyone can
recognize what Barbie look like and what she symbolizes. The original design of the Barbie came up
when the creator, Ruth Handler, noticed a pattern of her daughter being attracted to a mature looking
dolls instead of the baby doll. She then came up with the notion of creating a three dimensional
version of a shapely, fashionable young woman doll (Maynard). Mattel s influence around the world
can be seen by the sales section on their Annual Report. In 2015 Barbie made Mattel a gross profit of

Amistad Summary
Amistad Movie Summary
The film begins in the depths of the schooner La Amistad, a slave ship carrying captured West
Africans into slavery. The film s protagonist, Sengbe Pieh, most known by his Spanish name, Cinqué,
painstakingly picks a nail out of the ship s structure and uses it to pick the lock on his shackles.
Freeing a number of his companions, Cinqué initiates a rebellion on board the storm tossed vessel. In
the ensuing fighting, several Africans and most of the ship s Spanish crew are killed, but Cinqué saves
two of the ship s officers, Ruiz and Montez, whom he believes can sail them back to Africa.
After six weeks have passed, the ship is running out of food and fresh water, and Cinqué is growing

Cinqué, a peasant farmer and young husband and father in West Africa, was kidnapped by African
slave hunters and taken to the slave fortress of Lomboko, an illegal facility in the British Protectorate
of Sierra Leone. There, he and hundreds of other captured Africans were loaded onto transatlantic
slave ship (Tecora). Cinqué tells of the various horrors of the Middle Passage, including frequent rape,
horrific torture, and random executions carried out by the crew, including the deaths of fifty people
deliberately drowned in order to save food. Upon their arrival in Cuba, Cinqué was sold at a slave
market and purchased, along with many other Tecora survivors, by the owners of La Amistad. Once
aboard La Amistad, Cinqué was able to free himself of his shackles, and began the slaves rebellion for
freedom.
The courtroom drama continues as District Attorney William S. Holabird (Pete Postlethwaite) and
Secretary of State John Forsyth (David Paymer) press their case for property rights and dismiss
Cinqué s story as a mere piece of fiction. While exploring the impounded vessel La Amistad for much
needed evidence to support the Africans claims, Baldwin happens upon a notebook, stuffed into a
crevice by Ruiz and Montez to conceal the evidence of illegal slave trading. Using the book as hard
evidence of illegal trading, Baldwin calls expert witnesses including Captain Fitzgerald (Peter Firth), a
British naval commander assigned to patrol the West

Why We Shouldn T Have Homework
Why Students Shouldn t Have Homework I believe, as a student, that homework is just a tool that
teachers use to keep us busy. Being a student who has received homework for various years, I have
found that homework causes me a lot of stress (Ethos). Homework causes kids to get very stressed
out, it causes stress in their families, and studies show that it does not improve test scores. Harris
Cooper, a worker at Duke University (Ethos), found out that, doing more than 60 to 90 minute of
homework in middle school and more than 2 hours in high school is associated with much lower
scores (Logos). This just shows that homework is a useless item that students are forced to do. Firstly,
students have to wake up from seven until two o clock everyday, ... Show more content on

By not giving out homework, students will work harder in class and have better grades. Teachers have
to understand that if students are tired from late nights, they wouldn t be able to work efficiently
during the day. In addition, students would be much more excited to come to school because they
know they wouldn t have to worry about getting any homework. In 2010, a survey was taken and it
showed that about 70% of teen ages 11 to 17 get less than 8 hours of sleep per day due to the amount
of homework they have to do (Logos). According to Alfie Kohen, students feel forced to do their
homework, therefore they aren t learning as much as they should (Ethos). Students lose interest in the
topic and do not benefit from what they re learning. In China, a cry for change by a mother who lost
her thirteen year old daughter who committed suicide due to her inability to achieve in math, the
mother considers homework is a huge negative factor toward her deceased daughter s tragic ending
along with the pressure of society (Pathos). Such a story should leave us wondering, how many more
children need to suffer the silent epidemic of school stress. Statistics prove the leading cause for the
majority of physical and emotional complaints leading up to diagnosis of depression in middle and
high school due to the amount of

Eu Union Of The European Union Essay
On Thursday, June 23rd, in a history making vote, the people of the United Kingdom decided to leave
the European Union, hopefully providing flexibility on a range of issues. For those who back the exit
from the EU, the claim is Britain, among other things, will have better business regulations,
immigration control, and trade agreements. Ultimately, those in favor of leaving the EU, are seeking
an economic and policy independence.

The European Union is a union of 28 nations who have relinquished part of their sovereignty to EU
institutions such as the European Parliament, European Council, and European Central Bank. Formed
in 1993, the EU sought to further improve members economies and establish European free trade. In a
deeper effort to unite, the EU also has an official currency that can be used throughout Europe. The
currency, called the Euro, is used in 19 of the EU member states which make up the Eurozone. This
currency assists in easier spending as it compliments the single market established by the Union.

The Insanity Of Hamlet And Ophelia
Hamlet is the prince of Denmark, whose uncle and mother betray him. Ophelia, a pure figure in the
play, loves Hamlet, but he and her mind betray her. Through conflicts between their minds, and
interactions with others, the madness of Ophelia and Hamlet progressed into something more than
they could handle. With a lack of support given by their families, or peers, they only spiraled deeper
into themselves. In the play, Hamlet, written by William Shakespeare, the author uses the
characterization of Hamlet and Ophelia s insanity to further illustrate how madness is a vehicle to
truth. Hamlet s delusion begins directly after he learns of his father s death. Immediately, he longs to
avenge the death of his beloved father, the former King Hamlet; as he tries to piece together how this
tragedy occurred, and why his mother marries his uncle, he becomes entangled in his own curiosities.
He feels as though he should approach his mother, and question her; try to bring her into reality, and
make her become aware of the wrong she is doing. In the first scene, after the wedding of Gertrude,
Hamlet s mother, and Claudius, Hamlet s uncle, he falls into deep self pity. He is unable to speak to
anyone else about his true feelings, so he reveals that his too, ...too sullied flesh would melt,/ Thaw,

Naturally Occurring Radiation
Uranium:
1: Where is this substance most likely found, and how abundant is it?
Uranium can be found in a lot of places in small quantities such as rocks, soil, and water. However, its
harder to find uranium in amounts that are worth the trouble.
2: What type of decay does this substance undergo, and how harmful can it be to those exposed?
Naturally forming uranium undergoes radioactive decay by emission of an alpha particle and gamma
radiation. As the decay continues, it releases radiation. This is an extreme health issue that, in large
amounts, can cause cancer and liver damage.
3: What can be done to protect against the radiation produced by this isotope?

The Issues Of The Midwifery And Obstetrics
In recent years, midwifery and obstetrics have become two of the most prominent and primary ways
of care for women of childbearing age in comparison to unassisted births and other documented
methods. Although midwifery is not as prevalent as obstetrics, there is a rise in midwifery today. In
the United States women and their partners are faced with the choice of who should provide care
before, during and after pregnancy. As of today there has been a rise in how many births are attended
by nurse midwives than it was a quarter of a century ago but the number of births attended by an
obstetrician gynecologist (OBGYN) is still significantly higher. Faced with either option, OBGYN or
nurse midwife, women of childbearing age are not adequately informed or are misinformed on their
choices when it comes to each specialty. This paper explores the issue of women being thoroughly
informed on their birth options and on which provider is necessary. This paper also compares the two
professions, midwifery and obstetrics in the realm of pregnancy, pregnancy care and childbirth. This
examination of professional practices for pregnant women points out the limitations of each
obstetrician gynecologists and their attendance in low risk pregnancies and deliveries and suggests the
need for midwives more than ever.

Turning Points In To Kill A Mockingbird
Everything has to evolve or else it perishes (Knowles 125). Turning points are the moments in our
lives that define who we are and how we feel; they help us evolve into different people. Often, that
evolution comes from a loss of innocence. In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem changes from a
naive and optimistic child to a young adult with a more realistic view of life. In John Knowles A
Separate Peace, Finny also struggles with dealing with the reality of a world he doesn t really fit in.
Both boys face turning points that fundamentally change who they are, and in some ways, destroy
them. Phineas was a bubbly, charismatic, happy go lucky person who seemed to love life and all the
opportunities it brought. However, Finny s life completely changed when he fell out of a tree and
shattered his leg. Sports exemplified Finny, friendly competition with no clear winners or losers. After
Finny learned that he could not walk or play sports anymore, his once optimistic thoughts changed.
Later in the novel, Finny was no longer the happy, energetic person he used to be. He was depressed
about the current state he was in and upset that he couldn t enlist in the military. Finny wrote to every

What Are The Characters In Daughter Of Fortune
Daughter of Fortune
In the book, Daughter of Fortune, by Isabel Allende, the characters are ever changing. You have Eliza,
who through most of the novel dresses as a boy, Jacob Todd who transitions between a Bible salesman
and a newspaper reporter, Joe Bonecrusher who transitions from a tough, emotionless woman to a
very caring person, and Joaquin who transitions from an innocent, poor Chilean boy to a person who
is hunted down and killed. Many of the characters in Daughter of Fortune experience a transition in

lives of young Chinese girls who are sold to brothels, and are living in horrible, filthy conditions.
They form an underground system where they have the help of Quakers, and Babalu the bad from the
traveling brothel. Eliza soon hears word that Andieta had became a bandit and a group of men were
sent out to search for him, bringing him back dead or alive. The men bring back what they say is

it immediately. With Tao Chi en by her side, Eliza takes one look at the head, states she is free, and
walks away.
I want to start off with the transitions that Eliza went through. She had made the most transitions of all
the characters. Her first transition was going from a little girl to a young woman, when she falls in
love with Joaquin. She gets carried away with the illusion of love, and falls head over heels for him.

The Effects Of Co2 On The Permeability Of Indian...
Introduction
In the storage of CO2 in the deep geologic reservoirs for enhancing extraction of coalbed methane
area, Vishal et al. argue against the consequences of CO2 injection on the permeability of Indian
bituminous coal at different confining and injection pressure.
The major approach of the journal is to clarify about when and how would the incensement of
injection pressure have impact on the permeability of coalbed methane.
As a final year Civil Engineering student, I found this journal is educational and inspiring. The
research shows a comprehensive explanation of how pressure and stress of permeability of coal to sub
critical CO2 is tested.

The effective stress is proportional to the confining pressure and pore pressure. Results, a trend of
exponential decline in permeability with increasing effective stress is observed. During the passage of
CO2 through the coal sample, the gas is absorbed, which cause volume deformation.
The journal concluded that the reduction in permeability of coal maybe attributes to the role of coal
matrix expansion. CO2 gets preferentially adsorbed onto the surface of the coal. At the same time,
adsorption induces swelling at the time of coal exposure to the gas. The increase of injection of gas
will cause the decline in permeability is belongs to the fracture spacing is not completely closed and
the movement of gas cause swelling. However, the closure of fractures, a flow with increase
permeability at higher injection pressure occurs at the highest confining pressure.. This is because the
opening of fracture by increases the fracture apertures and this can enable easier flow (The University
of Alabama. College of Continuing Studies, College of engineering, 2004).

The information is relatively accurate, as there will be always variables about the geological

The National School Lunch Program Essay
The National School Lunch Program (NSLP), originally initiated in 1946 under the name the National
School Lunch Act, has served in excess of 224 billion school lunches to children throughout the
United States since its inception (National School Lunch Program). The goals of the program include
serving a school lunch that meets certain nutritional requirements and is available at low or no cost to
eligible students (National School Lunch Program). While the program has undergone many changes
over the decades, the core tenants of the program have remained intact. Changes should be made to
the way the National School Lunch Program operates to ensure that all students have access to a lunch
that is nutritious and affordable for all income levels, while accommodating the palate of each child.
In numerous incidences around the country schools have reportedly denied their students school
lunches because their lunch accounts are overdrawn in some cases by only a couple dollars (Green).
Also, traditional packed lunches are under fire, in part, because some administrators who feel that the
lunches are not nutritious enough for students have banned them (Eng, Hood). Because some school
children are going hungry and have no other means of obtaining a meal during the school day, the
school lunch program needs to take additional measures to ensure that the needs of all US students are
being met.
Although families with lower incomes may be eligible for reduced or free school

Analysis Of Poetry By Sylvia Plath
Poetry to some is the frustration of a riddle that cannot be solved. To others, it is the joy one feels
while solving the same riddle. A writer has the power to convey certain themes and ideas within a
poem in a span of one line or a hundred lines. They can create the tone for the poem with the help of a
single word, or a comma placed in the correct spot. With the use of figures of speech such as
metaphor, a writer can give the reader images and compare different ideas that have similar qualities
that help the reader deduce what the poem is about. Poetry has many ways in which a writer can make
a series of words and lines form together to create a story with a meaning that the reader has to dig
deep into the folds of the poem to find. Sylvia Plath creates a riddle to be solved by the reader in her
poem Metaphors with the use of elaborate metaphors, select word choice, and strict poem structure to
convey what the poem is about and what the speaker of the poem is feeling. Throughout the poem,
Plath playfully uses different metaphors to hint to the reader the answer of the riddle. The speaker
employs metaphors such as elephant, melon, and ponderous house that could be used to describe a
pregnant woman once she is in the later months of her pregnancy. There is some comedy in the use of
these specific words, especially line three a melon strolling on two tendrils. Plath gives the reader a
vision of a watermelon walking around on its tendrils. This light hearted tone in

The Pros And Cons Of Inclusion For Special Education Essay
In this paper I am going to be talking about the pros and cons of inclusion for Special Education
children. By definition, Inclusion rejects the use of special schools or classrooms to separate students
with disabilities from students without disabilities. Special Education is a topic that is important, even
though people may not realize how important it is for the fact that they don t understand what goes
into Special Education for children in schools. Negative beliefs many people have about individuals
with disabilities may often be based on fear, misconceptions, and lack of knowledge (Wright, 1998).
There are many children who have Special Education in schools and I feel that inclusion is something
that parents think about for their children, weather it is positive or negative thoughts. There is an issue
weather inclusion is best for children or if it is hindering the child s academic performance. I am going
to explore if inclusion is better for children with disabilities or if inclusion is not beneficial for

Iago And Roderigo
Written by William Shakespeare, Othello is a play of romance, hatred, jealousy and racism. Othello
takes place sometime around the year 1600A.D. Act I of the play is established on a street in Venice.
Iago and Roderigo are arguing over Iago s work to help Roderigo acquire a relationship with the fair
Desdemona. Iago has heard the news that Desdemona, Brabantio s daughter, is getting married to
Othello, a military general. Brabantio is infuriated after Iago and Roderigo told him the news of
Desdemona s marriage, because Othello was what was called a Moor. In this scene, it is also shown
that Iago is furious with the decision by Othello to appoint Michael Cassio as a lieutenant instead of
Iago. Iago and Brabantio both have several different and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In a way these two attributes of Brabantio conflict. Othello is a decorated general and a valuable asset
to Venice and the battle with cyprus. This makes him extremely valuable to the venetian people; in the
eyes of Brabantio Othello is also a threat to his daughter and a Moor. Brabantio very clearly expresses
his point of view when he says, ay, to me. She is abused, stole n from me, and corrupted By spells and
medicines brought of muntebanks; For nature so prepos terously to err, Being not deficient, blind, or
lame of sense, Sans witchcraft could not. (1.3.59 64). This causes a sort of conflict in Brabantio
because he must do what is best for both Venice and Desdemona. Brabantio s fatherly love takes
precedence in the end. The story of Othello is a constant reminder of what jealousy will lead a person

The Effects Of Media Violence And Violence On Children
Violence in the media is a growing concern on whether or not it affects children. The media starts
portraying violence at a very young age in many children s shows and many times children prefer the
television show with more action. There is also the monkey see, monkey do factor at a young age
because a child might see something on tv and try to copy it in real life after they see the cartoon
character was okay. Many people believe that media has an effect on kids and adolescents, but it s
hard to determine whether or not media leads to a child s aggression and how violent American media
really is. To start, the media in the U.S is much more violent compared to other countries. Due to this
fact, many people struggle to understand whether or not there is a connection between media violence
and aggression in children. There have been many studies done on whether or not the media has any
sort of effect on aggression and violence in children. American television and movies provide many
younger people with continuous violent content. A review made by the American Psychological
Association showed that the average child or teenage views about 10,000 rapes, murders, and
aggravated assault on television per year alone or 200,000 by the time a child reaches their teenage
years (Hopf, W). This number would be even higher if the child focuses on watching only certain
channels and programs that might contain more violence compared to others. One research study
showed that 70% of prime time shows included some form of violence and 90% of children s
programs include some violence and the rate of violence seemed to be consistent (Bushman, B.J).
The National Television Violence Study looked at violence on broadcast and cable television which
showed that nearly 80% of premium cable channels contained violence and less than 20% of the
public broadcasting channels contained violence. Another study done by the National Television Study
showed that violence on television is frequently glamorized, meaning the violent acts were done by
the good guys. Violence on television is frequently sanitized, meaning half of the violent crimes
committed show no physical harm or pain to the victim. Violence on television is often

The Importance of Teacher Tenure in Public Schools Essay...
Most would ask, What exactly is teacher tenure? . Well, in short teacher tenure is a permanent job
contract for school teachers. Teachers can earn tenure by proving their teaching skills over a specific
number of years while working at the same school. In most cases the number of years a teacher must
work at the same school is anywhere from two to seven years. After receiving tenure a teacher cannot
lose his or her job without just cause, for example obvious incompetence or severe misconduct.
Tenure offers job security to teachers that have successfully completed their probational period of
teaching. (Heard) So the questions is, should teacher tenure be abolished in public schools? One s
answer should be no. Teacher tenure is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Think of it this way, experience is important. Tenure is one way to reward experience. Some argue that
tenure allows bad teachers to stay in the classroom. Teachers that are just there to put in their time and
don t really care about the students themselves. They feel that granting teachers tenure encourages
them to become complacent about their jobs. Tenures are something that can be beneficial to students,
as well. By providing job security, teachers can concentrate on teaching, instead of worrying about
overly obsessed parents coming after them. Take for instance, a parent getting a coach fired because
they did not give their son or daughter enough play time on the court. There is the classic scenario of
parents that will look for a teacher s flaws in teaching before they look for flaws in their child as a
student. (Sharifi) The bottom line is that tenure is a complex issue, most do not understand what it is
or how it works. Tenure policies vary from state to state, so its not surprising that most are not really
famililar with it. Also it only effects a small number of the population. Many are confused as to just
what rights tenured teachers have, or whether they can even be fired. First of all most should know
that teacher tenure has a system of due process, checks, and balances so that teachers can be fired just
not to easily. Before argueing that teacher tenure should be abolished, one should listen to a few
points.

Analysis Of Lewis And The World Of Wonder
C.S. Lewis and the World of Wonder The Story Behind The Chronicles of Narnia Raindrops splashed
against the glass; but Jack stared past them, far beyond to the Green Hills. So beautiful. So
unreachable. Jack was born in Ireland in 1898, before most people had cars. They had no televisions
and no radios. The world was big and wonderful and mysterious. Jack s real name was Clive Staples
Lewis, but he didn t like that name. Would you? He picked the name Jack. He made everyone call him
Jack. If someone called him Clive, he would not answer. When Jack was six, his family moved. The
New House was huge, with empty rooms, long hallways, and dusty attics. Imagine exploring a house
like that. Jack also liked exploring books. His mother and father loved to read, and they saved all their
books. They filled the New House with books books in the study, in bedrooms, and on the stair
landing, books in the attic piled up to Jack s shoulders. Oh, the splendid hours he spent reading! On
rainy afternoons these books transported him to different times and different worlds. Jack made up his
own country called Animal Land. The animals wore clothes and talked and ruled the land. Jack s older
brother Warnie wrote stories about India with trains and steamships. Jack and Warnie combined their
countries into one country called Boxen. They wrote about Boxen together. Then Warnie left for a
boarding school in England. One hundred years ago, when Jack was a boy, many parents did not

The Collective Societal Memory Of The World War II Essay Elizabeth Heineman argued in her article that the collective societal memory of the experiences of German women in the immediate aftermath of World War II greatly contributed to the development of West German national identity, and directly influenced their eventual status in the partitioned country.1 She suggested that in order to fully comprehend this history of memories it was necessary to understand the distinctions and interconnections between what she refereed to as counter , popular , and official memories.2 In order to support this argument, the author conducted a series of formulaic analyses on the German perception toward women in three major areas of Post War German cultural memory; war rapes by Soviet soldiers; the experiences of women who rebuilt the nation and the economy without much assistance from men; and finally those women who fraternized with Allied soldiers. She began her formula by first exploring the universalization of certain aspects of what became the stereotypical female experience of Germans at the end of World War II through the immediate post war years.3 Next, she examined the effects of the universalization of the female German experience upon the formation of the West German national identity.4 This second point was further elaborated with an analysis of the relationship between counter memories of subordinate groups and the public or popular memories of the dominant culture, national identity, and culture of West Germany.5 ... It was the oil light telling me that it was time to have an oil change, so instead of driving home I went straight to the toyota dealership because at the time I drove a Toyota Landcruiser. When I got there they handed me a clipboard full of information i needed to fill out. After finally completing all the paperwork a man took me to the dealerships waiting room and told me that my oil change should not take long. I was happy to hear that because I wanted to be on my way. Turning points are the moments in our lives that define who we are and how we feel; they help us evolve into different people. Often, that evolution comes from a loss of innocence. In Harper Lee s To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem changes from a naive and optimistic child to a young adult with a more realistic view of life. In John Knowles A Separate Peace, Finny also struggles with dealing with the reality of a world he doesn t really fit in. Both boys face turning points that fundamentally change who they are, and in some ways, destroy them. Phineas was a bubbly, charismatic, happy go lucky person who seemed to love life and all the opportunities it brought. However, Finny s life completely changed when he fell out of a tree and shattered his leg. Sports exemplified Finny, friendly competition with no clear winners or losers. After Finny learned that he could not walk or play sports anymore, his once optimistic thoughts changed. Later in the novel, Finny was no longer the happy, energetic person he used to be. Introduction In the storage of CO2 in the deep geologic reservoirs for enhancing extraction of coalbed methane area, Vishal et al. argue against the consequences of CO2 injection on the permeability of Indian bituminous coal at different confining and injection pressure. The major approach of the journal is to clarify about when and how would the incensement of injection pressure have impact on the permeability of coalbed methane. As a final year Civil Engineering student, I found this journal is educational and inspiring. The research shows a comprehensive explanation of how pressure and stress of permeability of coal to sub critical CO2 is tested. The effective stress is proportional to the confining pressure and pore pressure. Results, a trend of exponential decline in permeability with increasing effective stress is observed. During the passage of CO2 through the coal sample, the gas is absorbed, which cause volume deformation. The journal concluded that the reduction in permeability of coal maybe attributes to the role of coal matrix expansion. CO2 gets preferentially adsorbed onto the surface of the coal. At the same time, adsorption induces swelling at the time of coal exposure to the gas. The increase of injection of gas will cause the decline in permeability is belongs to the fracture spacing is not completely closed and the movement of gas cause swelling. However, the closure of fractures, a flow with increase permeability at higher injection pressure occurs at the highest confining pressure.. This is because the opening of fracture by increases the fracture apertures and this can enable easier flow (The University of Alabama. College of Continuing Studies, College of engineering, 2004). The National School Lunch Program Essay The National School Lunch Program (NSLP), originally initiated in 1946 under the name the National School Lunch Act, has served in excess of 224 billion school lunches to children throughout the United States since its inception (National School Lunch Program). The goals of the program include serving a school lunch that meets certain nutritional requirements and is available at low or no cost to eligible students (National School Lunch Program). While the program has undergone many changes over the decades, the core tenants of the program have remained intact. Changes should be made to the way the National School Lunch Program operates to ensure that all students have access to a lunch that is nutritious and affordable for all income levels, while accommodating the palate of each child. In numerous incidences around the country schools have reportedly denied their students school lunches because their lunch accounts are overdrawn in some cases by only a couple dollars (Green). Also, traditional packed lunches are under fire, in part, because some administrators who feel that the lunches are not nutritious enough for students have banned them (Eng, Hood). Because some school children are going hungry and have no other means of obtaining a meal during the school day, the school lunch program needs to take additional measures to ensure that the needs of all US students are being met. • 42. Analysis Of Poetry By Sylvia Plath Poetry to some is the frustration of a riddle that cannot be solved. To others, it is the joy one feels while solving the same riddle. A writer has the power to convey certain themes and ideas within a poem in a span of one line or a hundred lines. They can create the tone for the poem with the help of a single word, or a comma placed in the correct spot. With the use of figures of speech such as metaphor, a writer can give the reader images and compare different ideas that have similar qualities that help the reader deduce what the poem is about. Poetry has many ways in which a writer can make a series of words and lines form together to create a story with a meaning that the reader has to dig deep into the folds of the poem to find. Sylvia Plath creates a riddle to be solved by the reader in her poem Metaphors with the use of elaborate metaphors, select word choice, and strict poem structure to convey what the poem is about and what the speaker of the poem is feeling. Throughout the poem, Plath playfully uses different metaphors to hint to the reader the answer of the riddle. The speaker employs metaphors such as elephant, melon, and ponderous house that could be used to describe a pregnant woman once she is in the later months of her pregnancy. By definition, Inclusion rejects the use of special schools or classrooms to separate students with disabilities from students without disabilities. Special Education is a topic that is important, even though people may not realize how important it is for the fact that they don t understand what goes into Special Education for children in schools. Negative beliefs many people have about individuals with disabilities may often be based on fear, misconceptions, and lack of knowledge (Wright, 1998). There are many children who have Special Education in schools and I feel that inclusion is something that parents think about for their children, weather it is positive or negative thoughts. There is an issue weather inclusion is best for children or if it is hindering the child s academic performance. I am going to explore if inclusion is better for children with disabilities or if inclusion is not beneficial for children with disabilities. In my opinion, all educators should have the knowledge they need when it comes to knowing what is best for these children and what will truly benefit them throughout there life s. when it comes to Special Education, there are parents with disabled children as well as non disabled children, who have so multiple opinions about inclusion. To start, the media in the U.S is much more violent compared to other countries. Due to this fact, many people struggle to understand whether or not there is a connection between media violence and aggression in children. There have been many studies done on whether or not the media has any sort of effect on aggression and violence in children. American television and movies provide many younger people with continuous violent content. A review made by the American Psychological Association showed that the average child or teenage views about 10,000 rapes, murders, and aggravated assault on television per year alone or 200,000 by the time a child reaches their teenage years (Hopf, W). The National Television Violence Study looked at violence on broadcast and cable television which showed that nearly 80% of premium cable channels contained violence and less than 20% of the public broadcasting channels contained violence. By providing job security, teachers can concentrate on teaching, instead of worrying about overly obsessed parents coming after them.
