To evaluate the ratio, if the ratio is lower than the industry average, this suggests the firm may have
liquidity problems. If the ratio is notability higher, this may suggest the firm is not using its funds in
an efficient manner. A firm that has a current ratio that is close to the industry average is performing
well. (Ameritrade, 2004).
Current ratio is calculated by dividing current assets by current liabilities. The current ratios for World
Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. for 2002, and 2003 are, 4.3:1, and 4.2:1and 4.1:1. By using the general
rule, the organization current ratios for all three years are well above 2.0. This means the organization
has adequate liquidity. The 2002 and 2003 ratios are higher than 2004 ratio.

Balance Sheet Analysis The balance sheet is one of four types of financial statements that are analyzed
to determine the well being of the firm. The balance sheet is also known as the Statement of Financial
Position. The balance sheet provides the detailed information needed to determine the financial
condition of the firm on a specific date, which is usually December 31. The balance sheet depicts what
the firm owns (assets), owes (liabilities), and how much capital (shareholders equity) it has. The name,

Because mental health professionals have developed interventions for changing people s perspectives
on life and their resultant feelings, it becomes possible, through psychological interventions, to
influence immune system functioning.
The literatures reviewed in this article assume an underlying model of illness that includes
environmental events, coping mechanisms, psychological states, activation of particular regions in the
nervous system, and immune system function as variables (Anton), Schneiderman, et al., 1990). The
model explains how environmental events such as loss or trauma make immune system suppression
more likely. However, immune suppression is the end result of a cascade of events involving
mediating variables. The occurrence of an environmental stressor makes immune suppression more
likely but by no means inevitable. Given an environmental stressor, people appraise the situation and
have the option of acting in ways to reduce the impact of the stressor. The processes of appraisal and
behaving to reduce the impact of the stressor are collectively called coping.
Depending on a person s coping mechanisms, particular psychological states can occur. A
psychological state has a wide variety of manifestations. Psychological states are associated with
activation of particular brain

The Rise Of The Young Social Entrepreneur
Corporate America has had a long history of producing jobs and income for everyday families. Just as
society has evolved, social entrepreneurship has also evolved becoming more focused on solving
problems rather than merely accumulating income. For years and years America has been a consumer
based economy, but in recent years entrepreneurship in a social manner has become a popular
ambition. Corporate drones have influenced society for centuries, however because of the rise of
social entrepreneurship the entrepreneurial age is here, and many people have jumped at the chance to
make a difference with the development of various initiatives. For that reason, many have identified it
as The Rise of the Young Social Entrepreneur.

As they raise awareness for positive social changes through non profit businesses and government aid,
the time is certainly right for change to social problems. Several governments and philanthropies have
fallen short to address these problems, but it has been the rise of social entrepreneurs who have
decided to answer back with change. J. Gregory Dees an Adjunct Professor and Faculty Director of
Duke s Fuqua School of Business Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship says, social
entrepreneurship as any form of social entrepreneurship that is worth promoting broadly must be
about establishing new and better ways to improve the world. Social entrepreneurs implement
innovative programs, organizational structures, or resource strategies that increase their chances of
achieving deep, broad, lasting, and cost effective social impact. In early years, entrepreneurship has
seen great success by those who perceived a need. For example, Susan B. Anthony, who was a
prominent women s right activist in the 19th century initiated the women s suffrage movement.
Anthony developed innovative solutions to social problems and fought for women s rights in the
United States. Others like Vinoba Bhave founder and leader of the Land Gift Movement, redistributed
7,000,000 acres of land to aid India s landless and untouchables. Due to people like Anthony, Bhave ,

Unfair Dismissal
t is important to distinguish unfair dismissal from the common law remedy for wrongful dismissal.
The latter is a civil law remedy essentially based upon breach of the contract of employment. From the
point of view of the employee, there are significant deficiencies in this civil law relief as a remedy.
Because an employer is generally entitled under the terms of the contract to dismiss upon giving the
appropriate period of notice as stipulated by the contract, damages will often be limited to the loss of
earnings during that period. The civil law does not provide for a remedy by way of reinstatement.
There is no remedy based upon breach of contract for failure to follow appropriate grievance and
disciplinary procedures prior to dismissal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the employee lost on further appeal when Lord Denning held that for there to be a
constructive dismissal, the employer s actions had to amount to a significant breach of the contract of
employment. This therefore applied a contractual analysis more akin to the civil law wrongful
dismissal approach. However, as will be seen below, cases of constructive dismissal are now regulated
by the statutory disciplinary and grievance procedures introduced by the Employment Act 2002 (EA
2002). It will be argued that these new requirements have the effect of tipping the scales too far in
favour of the employer in many cases. Fairness Section 98(4) of ERA 1996 defines this concept: the
question whether the dismissal is fair or unfair (having regard to the reason shown by the employer)
(a) depends on whether in the circumstances (including the size and administrative resources of the
employer s undertaking) the employer acted reasonably or unreasonably in treating it as a sufficient
reason for dismissing the employee, and (b) shall be determined in accordance with equity and the
substantial merits of the case. It should be noted, however, that s.34 EA 2002 inserted a new s.98A
into ERA 1996 which provides that breach by the employer of a statutory procedure on dismissal,
which sets down the minimum procedural requirements, means that the dismissal is in any event
automatically unfair. (The

Room Of Error In Kevin Hart s Life
Kevin Hart grew up in a Philadelphia Pennsylvania neighborhood that wasn t at all that good.
He lived in a house with his mother Nancy Hart, and older brother Robert Hart. His father is Henry
Witherspoon but he is not an important part of Kevin s life. Kevin s father was always on drugs and
stealing peoples things, even his!!! While growing up Kevin didn t have much, and when he did it was
usually stolen goods that his brother had given him. Kevin s mother was a devoted Christian woman,
while his brother was basically just another hoodlum in the streets, as he says. On the bright side, after
seeing all of the wrong paths that his brother had taken, his mother Nancy did not allow much room
for error in Kevin s life. In this book, Kevin describes his mother as a very harsh but supportive
parent. As a child, if Kevin would backtalk his mother she would grab the nearest object ... Show more

gasoline and eventually got a divorce. That did not hurt Kevin though, perhaps it even helped him
giving him more events to talk about in his skits. Kevin married the second love of his life Eniko in
2016, and they are currently married. With her love and support, he went on to be one of the best and
successful comedians this world has ever seen.Though he was short, he never let that get in the way of

Coworker Narrative
I recently got a new job and my coworkers were very nice and everything was good up until this day.
The day we went under attack. My work was not in the city. It was more out where no one lived and
not many people went.It was a large building with about 20 stories. I had a cubicle that was very tiny
but every that worked there had one. I was very close with my boss. His name was Tom. I had a few
other friends there like Mike, Karen, and Brooke.
My day was so normal, I woke up and then went to work. I also had a feeling in my gut that
something was going to happen today. I remember walking into my little cubicle and all of my work
that I was working on the day before was not on my desk or anywhere to be found. I started to panic

being held hostage, help us. I walked to the edge of the building and I saw 4 men pointing guns up at
the top. I sprinted back to the ladder and climbed back down. I told everyone what I saw. They were
getting very, very, very, VERY crept out. I took a few of the guys up to the top and we took the sign to
the side of the building and taped it to the side of the building. We couldn t see the people that were at
the bottom of the building. So the people I brought up with me took the sign over and taped it. When
we were almost done hanging the sign we all say one person walk out a van. The man was actually

A Day For A Hospital Volunteer
The skateboard flew from underneath her as she slammed down onto the concrete, her belongings
scattering everywhere around her. As I picked up her belongings to return to her, I noticed she had
landed on her back and was bleeding from her head. Everyone gathered around us. An assistant
teacher tried to help her up when I exclaimed, Stop! You re never supposed to move someone with a
head wound. Two others brought her water to help her feel better, but I denied their suggestion,
informing them that she shouldn t have any water or food in case she needs to have a procedure at the
hospital. I wouldn t let anyone near this girl until the paramedics arrived. I held her hands in an
attempt to comfort her while we waited. It was in those moments that I found myself grateful for
everything I had learned as a hospital volunteer, while simultaneously wishing I could help the girl
even more. While I had all the right knowledge to prevent more harm from coming to this stranger
who fell off her skateboard, I was unable to provide the level of care I desired.
After that incident, I decided it was time I did more for my community. I began explaining health
insurance to community members in Summer of 2013, and in doing so, I have become more aware of
the great dearth in easily accessible health care. To help remedy this situation, I compiled binders full
of information on free or low cost health care resources in the Inland Empire. I go to local clinics and

A Modern Day Form Of Slavery Essay
Literature Review
While DMST is considered to be a modern day form of slavery, history has recorded that the sexual
exploitation of children has been practiced in America since its colonization. While slavery was
abolished in the 19th century, it did not dissipate completely and it wasn t until the beginning of the
20th century that the issue of child sex trafficking began to receive significant attention. This was in
part due to the Trafficking Victim s Protection Act (TVPA) that was passed in 2000 which protected
victims of trafficking by enhancing criminal penalties under the law as well as made benefits and
services to victims available (TVPA, 2000). Since the act s establishment, the TVPA has been
amended 4 times in order to grow with the changing attitudes, policies, and approaches to best combat
human trafficking (DeCeoursty, 2016). The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 refueled the
United States dedication to sex trafficking by declaring DMST as a threat to national security which
transformed the way human trafficking should be approached (DeCeoursty, 2016). The post 911
environment embraced a crime control approach by focusing more on combating organized crime
activity instead of the issue of human rights and the recognition of victimization (DeCeoursty, 2016).
However, this crime control approach to human trafficking failed to address the underlying structural
problems, which is the high demand for the sex trafficking industry. Over time, the Department of

it continues to see this growth in the future years. Globalisation has played a major role in all walks of
life including business. Due to globalisation there are more and more players emerging in the market
which has resulted in the globe becoming smaller and smaller, when it comes to business. The
competition in the worldwide market is really intense which asks for the companies to be way better
than their competitors. The companies in today s world really have to fight it out really hard to have a
good standing in the market against their competitors. They should always work towards retaining
their customers or else their customers will change their preferences which will in turn result in the

Industrialization in India
Need for Trend of Industrialization in India
What is Industry?
In its broadest sense, industry is any work that is undertaken for economic gain and that promotes
employment. The word may be applied to a wide range of activities, from farming to manufacturing
and tourism. It encompasses production at any scale, from the local sometimes known as cottage
industry to the multinational or transnational.
In a more restricted sense, industry refers to the production of goods, especially when that production
is accomplished with machines. It is this limited definition of industry that is embodied by the notion
of industrialization: the transition to an economy based on the large scale, machine assisted production
of goods by a concentrated, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ironically, de industrialization in the three countries mentioned above has been accompanied by a
growth in the high tech industries in areas such as the Côte d Azur in France; Silicon Valley in
California; and along the M4 motorway, around Cambridge, and in central Scotland the so called
Silicon Glen in the UK. The long term impact of de industrialization has yet to be felt. It may be the
speed of the process, rather than the process itself, that needs careful management.
Transnational Corporations
Probably the most significant industrial development since the 1960s has been the rise of the
multinational or transnational company. Examples of these companies, which operate in many
countries, are Ford, General Motors, IBM, Siemens, and Matsushita Electrical. United Nations (UN)
estimates that investment by transnational companies has risen by 13 per cent per year over the last 20
years, largely because more and more governments are accepting these firms into their countries.
Nevertheless, the growth of multinational corporations has raised a number of concerns. An enormous
amount of production power is concentrated in the hands of a few controllers, which means that the
countries involved become directly susceptible to economic changes in other parts of the world. The
transfer of assets from one country to another may be difficult for governments to manage or prevent,
and there are likely to be disparities in the treatment of different countries.

The Mathematical Aspects of Lewis Carroll s Alice in Wonderland
The story Alice in Wonderland was written about a little girl named Alice who was a child of the dean
of the Church of Christ. Alice Liddell was the one who convinced Charles Dodgson (Lewis Carroll) to
write down the verbal story originally known as Alice s Adventure Underground .Actually, the book is
known by several different names, Alice s Hours in Elfand,Alice s Adventures in Wonderland, and

Megadeth
Megadeth is an American heavy metal band from Los Angeles, California. The group was formed in
1983 by guitarist Dave Mustaine and bassist David Ellefson, shortly after Mustaine s dismissal from
Metallica. A pioneer of the American thrash metal scene, the band is credited as one of the genre s big
four with Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer, responsible for thrash metal s development and
popularization. Megadeth plays in a technical style, featuring fast rhythm sections and complex
arrangements. Themes of death, war, politics and religion are prominent in the group s lyrics.
In 1985, the band released its debut album on the independent label Combat Records. The album s
moderate commercial success caught the attention of bigger labels, which led to Megadeth signing
with Capitol Records. Their first major label album, Peace Sells... but Who s Buying?, was released in

out of court and rejoined the group in 2010. Megadeth has hosted its own music festival, Gigantour,

Mlab Concert Review
On November 18, 2015, I attended a UAB concert involving jazz combos and a guitar ensemble. This
concert was filled with amazing musicians, intricate solos, and thick harmonies. There were three jazz
combos and one guitar ensemble; the first set was the guitar ensemble, which contained four guitarists
and one bass player. The ensemble consisted of four songs: Swing It, a swing style song; Samba #1 ; A
Child is Born, a waltz; and Bill s Bay. The main theme of Bill s Bay was very catchy and memorable,
and the ensemble s most impressive player to me was Michael Galanti on the bass guitar. His solos
involved precise pizzicato and quick movement that I have never witnessed in a bass player. Next, the
series of jazz combos began, and a younger group of UAB students started to play. Their first song
was The Preacher by Horace Silver, and this song was the only song with lyrics. The singer was nearly
impossible to hear because she was singing in piano while the other group members were playing in
fortissimo. Also, I was startled by how loud the brass instruments sounded in the concert hall;
however, this is due to the trumpet being a haut instrument. Then, another combo began playing, and
this combo was under the guidance of Carlos Pino. The group brought more energy and more skill,
and this is shown ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

experience, each member was comfortable on stage and highly skilled; therefore, every solo was near

this entire concert, every performance had one thing in common. Every player seemed to be having
fun and loved to play jazz. This was my first opportunity to go to a jazz concert, and it allowed me to
hear a completely new style of music. It opened my eyes to a great genre of American

Anglo-Saxon Construction
Anglo Saxon Construction and Architecture
Even the homes of most kings were not built of stone. The construction and style of Anglo Saxon
building contributed to the later constructs, such as the materials with the use of wood, daub, the rare
use of stone, and many natural products. The very wealthy churches would use more expensive
materials that even kings didn t use. Also with the salvaging of many old Roman brick stone and even
wood constructs. To the very simple and cheap construction of daub and wooden homes. But even
with all the constructs, there are very few left, with most of what is left being the churches and
excavations. With this said many materials were used in construction during this time period with the

A Patient With Respiratory Acidosis Essay
a) In a patient with respiratory acidosis, the partial pressure of CO2 in the plasma (PCO2) rises above
normal levels of 40 mmHg (1). Airway resistance due to asthma, respiratory depression due to drug
use as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease all cause hypoventilation, lowering partial
pressure of plasma oxygen (PO2) to below its normal value of approximately 100 mm Hg (1) and can
lead to respiratory acidosis. The equation below describes the equation between CO2 and H2O with
H+ and HCO3 . According to the law of mass action, all reactions tend towards equilibrium, and any
disturbance in the amount of any of the products or reactants will shift the reaction in a direction
which leads to re establishment of equilibrium. If CO2 concentration rises, the new chemical
equilibrium will favour further production of both H+ and HCO3 through disassociation of H2CO3.
Each additional molecule of CO2 would lead to production of one molecule of H+ and HCO3 .
〖CO〗_2+H_2 O→ H_2 CO^3→H^++HCO_3^ (1).
Production of H+ will cause plasma pH to fall below 7.4. Normally, increases in H+ concentrations
are buffered mostly by haemoglobin, however buffers can only resist small changes in pH. The HCO3
levels increase slightly, but are likely to still remain within normal levels of 22 to 26 mEq/L. This is
because equilibrium changes in concentrations is slight compared to the large compensatory changes
(1). Renal mechanisms can assist in excreting H+ and reabsorbing HCO3 .

70s Music Research Paper
In mid 1960s the 8 track tape was invented which was popular until the late 70s. During the 70s the
Cassette tape was introduced, which became popular very quickly. The 1980s saw a revolution in
music technology, which was a huge upgrade in the music industry. Personal stereos enabled people to
play music on cassette tapes and listen to it through headphones wherever they went. Many people
began listening to music while walking, travelling on public transport or exercising. In the late 1980s,
compact discs (CDs) began to replace vinyl records. CDs were lighter and smaller than vinyl records
and offered a much higher quality sound. Slide 2 Popular culture began after World War II in 1945.

Socio-Cultural Impacts
Socio cultural impacts
Before FIFA World Cup 2010 launched in South Africa, the main attraction was mostly on gold and
diamonds. The number of crime rate is what people knew about South Africa, and since the high
crime, so there are not so many people come to South Africa for travel or investment. Therefore, most

undeveloped market of South Africa, because the FIFA 2010 let them see the improvement of security,

and safety operation. So, there are more and more companies would like to come for investment, and
their investment will be a strong motivation to the South Africa economy, it will make more and more
employment opportunities, it will let the development be much faster. For example, Nike, a brand of
sporting products, has invested million of USD in South Africa for their promotion, like install a large
transflective on the largest building in Johannesburg, and found a small football club for the football
training. These investments also employ local residents to work, whatever the FIFA 2010 would
finish, but the facilities will still run and still offer employment opportunities for the local residents.
Negative impact
Although the FIFA 2010 let South Africa get much profits and have obvious increase on the economy,
but there are many negative factors in it. For example South Africa government has invested about
45billions in FIFA 2010, and it has made about 49billions income for South Africa, it looks like the
expanses and income can balance, but the 75% of income need to hand over to The International

The Science Of A Memory
Memory is something that is essential to our daily lives. Creating and retrieving memories is
something that happens without us knowing; subconscious remembrance of events allows us to
remember our friend s name, a favorite baseball or football team, or what city we live in without
needing to ask others or consult the internet. Even if we were to ask others a question about
something, without memory we would forget the answer to the question we had asked immediately
after they had told us, which would be quite a confusing and annoying situation for both parties
involved. Without memory, we would have no concept of what is the past and what is the future,
which would lead to a very different perception of reality than what we are used to. It should be noted;
however, that there is a definite science for memory. As previously mentioned, memories can be
encoded subconsciously (without our awareness), and also consciously. This paper will focus on the
science of increasing the effectiveness of conscious memory, that is, memory that we intentionally try
to encode into our minds with the purpose of a later retrieval. The main idea from Chapter 6 Tips from
the Science of Memory for Studying and for Life is that people at the individual level need to optimize
memorization techniques that best work for themselves. According to the textbook, the most effective
way to memorize, regardless of memory model, is by thinking deeply about the material of life and
connecting the

I grew up always dreaming about becoming an Auto Mechanic Technician. Before I wanted to become

Six Branches of Philospy
Reflection of the Six Branches of Philosophy
Various branches of philosophy have always become great debates in society. Many have questioned
metaphysics, epistemology, ethics, aesthetics, political philosophy and social philosophy. The author
will discuss and reflect on the six branches of philosophy in which she will describe a time in her life
when she have asked similar questions. In addition, the author will discuss specific circumstances that
brought her to each of the questions and what conclusions she came about.
Metaphysics
The author believes that people do have free will and that God has given men the greatest gift of all,
the ability of choice. Growing up the author was accustomed to hearing that life is already ... Show

The common citizens helps electing political parties to help solve public issues which later links to
their government by classifying themselves as Democrats, Republican or Reform.
Social philosophy The author believes that society should be held under governing laws, which will
help protect the people in a bigger scheme of things. When a larger group is being protected it will
mean that people will have to give up a little of their rights. For example, after the 911 tragedy the
writer witnessed armed soldiers in the airport and also was pulled to the side and searched thoroughly.
At first, the author felt as if she was violated, but after boarding the airplane she felt really safe.
Although individuals give up some of their rights as citizens it serves as a means to decrease chaos in
our society. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves
(Frankl, 2014).
Conclusion
In conclusion we end where we started philosophy can be divided into five branches which study the
existence, knowledge, action, force and art. The six branches each seek and question looking for
answers that have a relationship to what is the study of philosophy.

If Claudia had thought about it, she would have been able to explain to Pecola that although she didn t

tried to anesthetize himself with booze, for the humiliation and degradation he experienced by
sneering white men, with flashlights, who stole his manhood. In the beginning, filled with the promise

colors of Pauline s youth begin to fade as her loneliness consumes her, and she is forced into the

Leasing vs Purchasing
Report on Leasing vs. Purchasing The benefits of leasing Computer equipment vs. purchasing
Summary
The company needs to upgrade its computer equipment. There are two upgrade paths to consider. In
this proposal, we demonstrate how equipment leases take advantage of the benefits of reduced
depreciation and taxation, easy scalability, reduction of IT staff usage, reduced energy costs, and
reduction of capital spending. The company can free up money overall and maintain better control of
the IT budget by leasing. The cost of equipment is spread out over a 3 year period by leasing. There
are no disposal fees because the leasing company will be responsible for the equipment leased. By

Computer technology evolves rapidly. There is a distinct advancement year to year. Computers handle
more processing power, use less energy, and depreciate like rocks falling off Pike s Peak. Leasing
helps prevent obsolescence. It offers an opportunity to upgrade equipment for a fraction of the cost of
purchasing. With better equipment, the company stays ahead of the IT curve and improves on
productivity from all departments that utilize the in house private network. IT equipment has an
expected useful life of five to eight years.

Compare And Contrast The Two Front War And The Schlieffen...
What was the Two Front War and The Schlieffen Plan, and how did they affect the war? The
Schlieffen Plan was created by General Count Alfred von Schlieffen in December 1905. This plan was
created to prove Germany victorious over France and Russia. General Schlieffen wanted to make a
plan where Germany could fight both France and Russia and still be victorious. Schlieffen saw France
as the biggest threat, and decided that they should be first defeated to secure victory over both armies.
Schlieffen proposed that German forces would advance through Belgium to avoid strong French
troops on the Franco German Border. German troops would then move south and take the French by
surprise. This plan eventually failed and Schlieffen was replaced

Nietzsche s View Of The Western Bourgeois Society
The late 19th and early 20th centuries brought forth a modern approach to science, intellectual affairs,
and the arts. Before 1914, these ideas were a result of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment
periods. During this time period there were a series of new inventions, which included electric lights,
phonographs, cinema, and automobiles. One of these developments that opened the way to a modern
consciousness was with developments in science. Science was a field that dealt with cold hard facts
and reason, which is different from the religious beliefs that many individuals were used to seeing.
Many believed that the Scientific laws of the time would give rise to an understanding of the physical
world, however the new physics altered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of artists applying brushstrokes towards paintings that encompassed realistic ideas, a new type
of theme was known in the early 19th and late 20th centuries. This new theme of art came from
Impressionism, which was a movement in France that dealt with painting outside of the studio or
museums and painting nature directly. However, these painters did not only paint scenes from nature
but also streets, cabarets, rivers, and busy boulevards, wherever human beings were present.
Impressionists painting referred to originality seen in past artworks by utilizing bright colors, dynamic
brushstrokes, and a smaller scale. By the 1880s a new style of painting had emerged in France and
other European nations, which was Post Impressionism. Post Impressionism was different from
Impressionism in that Post Impressionism emphasized not only on color and light but also focused
more on structure and form. Also, these types of paintings used color and line to express a personal
sense of reality that was different from Impressionism. As Post Impressionism shifted from objective
reality to subjective reality, Post Impressionism was the beginning of modern art. Two of the most
famous Post Impressionists are Paul Cezanne and Vincent van Gogh, whose famous paintings are
Mont Sainte Victoire and Starry Night, separately. Both of their paintings made use of the

Refugee Controversy
The estimated number of refugees since World War II is one hundred million ( Refugee ). Supporting
and solving today s refugee crisis is especially controversial because of the current events, financing,
and security issues. A refugee is a person who has left their country because of fear of their safety due
to violence, race, religion, or war ( Refugee Facts ). Climate change and natural disasters sometimes
cause people to leave their homes or countries. Some examples of these natural disasters are floods,
earthquakes, hurricanes, and mudslides. These do not qualify as a reason to be a refuge ( Refugees ).
Refugees leave their country and move to another country and ask for asylum which provides
protection and assistance as a confirmed refugee. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In December 2015 Donald Trump argued that Muslim refugees should not be accepted into the U.S.
until the vetting process can be improved to reduce security risks. Representative Peter King also
believes that the process of checking refugees is not good enough. The process does not provide
enough information to tell if a refugee is a terrorist or will become one ( Refugee Crisis ). In June
2015, Representative Michael McCaul said that terrorists are sneaking into the United States through
the refugee process, and the United States should protect its citizens first ( Refugee Crisis ). Between
2001 and 2015, three of 850,000 refugees were convicted of terrorist attacks (Landon, Shanti.).
Vetting refugees from Middle Eastern countries at war is not effective because criminal and terrorist
records are not updated in these countries (Landon, Shanti) Other people believe the exact opposite is
true. For instance, David Bier is the Director of Immigration Policy at Niskanen Center in Washington
D.C. He wrote in his blog that refugees that flee from ISIS violence should continue to be welcomed
into the U.S. because of the welfare of those people and for security reasons. Patrick Eddington, a
prior CIA officer, said that Syrian refugees know a lot about ISIS, and they can give the United States
information about ISIS. Some ISIS information has already been leaked by the Syrians to help the
United States defeat them (Bier, David). Some people argue that besides a security threat, refugees
also threaten the cultural ways of the country. In September 2015, the Politico reported that Bernard
Monot of the European Parliament feared that the culture of France would change because Muslim
refugees would bring in more children and more influence ( Refugee

The Conversion Of Constantine s Conversion Essay
The Conversion of Constantine Constantine was the first Roman Emperor to convert to Christianity.
He started his reign in 306 AD. During this time the Roman Empire was still composed mainly of
pagans. Although the population of Christians was on the rise, in the beginning of the fourth century
Christians made up only 10 percent of the population in the Roman Empire. There were
approximately five million Christian in the Roman Empire meaning that they were still the minority
(Waldron). His conversion was an important turning point not only for Christians but also for the
Roman Empire as a whole. Although most Romans still believed in Greco Roman religions,
Constantine decided to become a Christian because he knew that it would be beneficial for his role as
emperor. His conversion was prompted by his desire to end the tetrarchy structure of he Roman
Empire and to become the sole ruler of the Roman Empire. The story of Constantine s conversion was
told through Eucbuius of Caersera. His recount of the story is skewed by his bias. In order to show a
more holistic view of the story I will be comparing his account to the account of Andreas. Constantine
had other motives for converting to Christianity such as Alföldi. Constantine s decision to become a
Christian was influenced by numerous external factors. Constantine emulated the monotheistic nature
of Christianity and used it as the foundation of his reign and used Christianity to advance his political
agenda. When

If the ratio is notability higher, this may suggest the firm is not using its funds in an efficient manner. A firm that has a current ratio that is close to the industry average is performing well. (Ameritrade, 2004). Current ratio is calculated by dividing current assets by current liabilities. Subject(s): AIDS (Disease) Patients Psychology; IMMUNE system Psychological aspects Source: Health Social Work, Nov96, Vol. 21 Issue 4, p287, 5p Author(s): Littrell, Jill Abstract: Discusses the premise that the psychological state affects the immune system with reference to the psychological state of persons with enhanced functioning immune states and those with suppressed immunity, HIV and AIDS. How stress affects the immune system; How psychological health assists the immune system; Advantages of intervention on the psyche and immune system of HIV and AIDS patients. Database: Academic Search Elite ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because mental health professionals have developed interventions for changing people s perspectives on life and their resultant feelings, it becomes possible, through psychological interventions, to influence immune system functioning. The literatures reviewed in this article assume an underlying model of illness that includes environmental events, coping mechanisms, psychological states, activation of particular regions in the nervous system, and immune system function as variables (Anton), Schneiderman, et al., 1990). The model explains how environmental events such as loss or trauma make immune system suppression more likely. However, immune suppression is the end result of a cascade of events involving mediating variables. The occurrence of an environmental stressor makes immune suppression more likely but by no means inevitable. Given an environmental stressor, people appraise the situation and have the option of acting in ways to reduce the impact of the stressor. The processes of appraisal and behaving to reduce the impact of the stressor are collectively called coping. Depending on a person s coping mechanisms, particular psychological states can occur. A psychological state has a wide variety of manifestations. Psychological states are associated with activation of particular brain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Rise Of The Young Social Entrepreneur Corporate America has had a long history of producing jobs and income for everyday families. Just as society has evolved, social entrepreneurship has also evolved becoming more focused on solving problems rather than merely accumulating income. For years and years America has been a consumer based economy, but in recent years entrepreneurship in a social manner has become a popular ambition. Corporate drones have influenced society for centuries, however because of the rise of social entrepreneurship the entrepreneurial age is here, and many people have jumped at the chance to make a difference with the development of various initiatives. For that reason, many have identified it as The Rise of the Young Social Entrepreneur. To begin ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As they raise awareness for positive social changes through non profit businesses and government aid, the time is certainly right for change to social problems. Several governments and philanthropies have fallen short to address these problems, but it has been the rise of social entrepreneurs who have decided to answer back with change. J. Gregory Dees an Adjunct Professor and Faculty Director of Duke s Fuqua School of Business Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship says, social entrepreneurship as any form of social entrepreneurship that is worth promoting broadly must be about establishing new and better ways to improve the world. Social entrepreneurs implement innovative programs, organizational structures, or resource strategies that increase their chances of achieving deep, broad, lasting, and cost effective social impact. In early years, entrepreneurship has seen great success by those who perceived a need. For example, Susan B. Anthony, who was a prominent women s right activist in the 19th century initiated the women s suffrage movement. Anthony developed innovative solutions to social problems and fought for women s rights in the United States. Others like Vinoba Bhave founder and leader of the Land Gift Movement, redistributed 7,000,000 acres of land to aid India s landless and untouchables. Due to people like Anthony, Bhave , Florence ... • 5. Unfair Dismissal t is important to distinguish unfair dismissal from the common law remedy for wrongful dismissal. The latter is a civil law remedy essentially based upon breach of the contract of employment. From the point of view of the employee, there are significant deficiencies in this civil law relief as a remedy. Because an employer is generally entitled under the terms of the contract to dismiss upon giving the appropriate period of notice as stipulated by the contract, damages will often be limited to the loss of earnings during that period. The civil law does not provide for a remedy by way of reinstatement. There is no remedy based upon breach of contract for failure to follow appropriate grievance and disciplinary procedures prior to dismissal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the employee lost on further appeal when Lord Denning held that for there to be a constructive dismissal, the employer s actions had to amount to a significant breach of the contract of employment. This therefore applied a contractual analysis more akin to the civil law wrongful dismissal approach. However, as will be seen below, cases of constructive dismissal are now regulated by the statutory disciplinary and grievance procedures introduced by the Employment Act 2002 (EA 2002). It will be argued that these new requirements have the effect of tipping the scales too far in favour of the employer in many cases. Fairness Section 98(4) of ERA 1996 defines this concept: the question whether the dismissal is fair or unfair (having regard to the reason shown by the employer) (a) depends on whether in the circumstances (including the size and administrative resources of the employer s undertaking) the employer acted reasonably or unreasonably in treating it as a sufficient reason for dismissing the employee, and (b) shall be determined in accordance with equity and the substantial merits of the case. It should be noted, however, that s.34 EA 2002 inserted a new s.98A into ERA 1996 which provides that breach by the employer of a statutory procedure on dismissal, which sets down the minimum procedural requirements, means that the dismissal is in any event automatically unfair. It was more out where no one lived and not many people went.It was a large building with about 20 stories. I had a cubicle that was very tiny but every that worked there had one. I was very close with my boss. His name was Tom. I had a few other friends there like Mike, Karen, and Brooke. My day was so normal, I woke up and then went to work. I also had a feeling in my gut that something was going to happen today. I walked to the edge of the building and I saw 4 men pointing guns up at the top. I sprinted back to the ladder and climbed back down. I told everyone what I saw. They were getting very, very, very, VERY crept out. I took a few of the guys up to the top and we took the sign to the side of the building and taped it to the side of the building. We couldn t see the people that were at the bottom of the building. So the people I brought up with me took the sign over and taped it. • 8. A Day For A Hospital Volunteer The skateboard flew from underneath her as she slammed down onto the concrete, her belongings scattering everywhere around her. As I picked up her belongings to return to her, I noticed she had landed on her back and was bleeding from her head. Everyone gathered around us. An assistant teacher tried to help her up when I exclaimed, Stop! You re never supposed to move someone with a head wound. Two others brought her water to help her feel better, but I denied their suggestion, informing them that she shouldn t have any water or food in case she needs to have a procedure at the hospital. I wouldn t let anyone near this girl until the paramedics arrived. I held her hands in an attempt to comfort her while we waited. It was in those moments that I found myself grateful for everything I had learned as a hospital volunteer, while simultaneously wishing I could help the girl even more. While I had all the right knowledge to prevent more harm from coming to this stranger who fell off her skateboard, I was unable to provide the level of care I desired. • 11. A Modern Day Form Of Slavery Essay Literature Review While DMST is considered to be a modern day form of slavery, history has recorded that the sexual exploitation of children has been practiced in America since its colonization. While slavery was abolished in the 19th century, it did not dissipate completely and it wasn t until the beginning of the 20th century that the issue of child sex trafficking began to receive significant attention. This was in part due to the Trafficking Victim s Protection Act (TVPA) that was passed in 2000 which protected victims of trafficking by enhancing criminal penalties under the law as well as made benefits and services to victims available (TVPA, 2000). Since the act s establishment, the TVPA has been amended 4 times in order to grow with the changing attitudes, policies, and approaches to best combat human trafficking (DeCeoursty, 2016). The terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 refueled the United States dedication to sex trafficking by declaring DMST as a threat to national security which transformed the way human trafficking should be approached (DeCeoursty, 2016). The post 911 environment embraced a crime control approach by focusing more on combating organized crime activity instead of the issue of human rights and the recognition of victimization (DeCeoursty, 2016). However, this crime control approach to human trafficking failed to address the underlying structural problems, which is the high demand for the sex trafficking industry. In its broadest sense, industry is any work that is undertaken for economic gain and that promotes employment. The word may be applied to a wide range of activities, from farming to manufacturing and tourism. It encompasses production at any scale, from the local sometimes known as cottage industry to the multinational or transnational. In a more restricted sense, industry refers to the production of goods, especially when that production is accomplished with machines. It is this limited definition of industry that is embodied by the notion of industrialization: the transition to an economy based on the large scale, machine assisted production of goods by a concentrated, ... Ironically, de industrialization in the three countries mentioned above has been accompanied by a growth in the high tech industries in areas such as the Côte d Azur in France; Silicon Valley in California; and along the M4 motorway, around Cambridge, and in central Scotland the so called Silicon Glen in the UK. The long term impact of de industrialization has yet to be felt. It may be the speed of the process, rather than the process itself, that needs careful management. Transnational Corporations Probably the most significant industrial development since the 1960s has been the rise of the multinational or transnational company. Examples of these companies, which operate in many countries, are Ford, General Motors, IBM, Siemens, and Matsushita Electrical. United Nations (UN) estimates that investment by transnational companies has risen by 13 per cent per year over the last 20 years, largely because more and more governments are accepting these firms into their countries. Nevertheless, the growth of multinational corporations has raised a number of concerns. An enormous amount of production power is concentrated in the hands of a few controllers, which means that the countries involved become directly susceptible to economic changes in other parts of the world. The transfer of assets from one country to another may be difficult for governments to manage or prevent, and there are likely to be disparities in the treatment of different countries. • 16. Mlab Concert Review On November 18, 2015, I attended a UAB concert involving jazz combos and a guitar ensemble. This concert was filled with amazing musicians, intricate solos, and thick harmonies. There were three jazz combos and one guitar ensemble; the first set was the guitar ensemble, which contained four guitarists and one bass player. The ensemble consisted of four songs: Swing It, a swing style song; Samba #1 ; A Child is Born, a waltz; and Bill s Bay. The main theme of Bill s Bay was very catchy and memorable, and the ensemble s most impressive player to me was Michael Galanti on the bass guitar. His solos involved precise pizzicato and quick movement that I have never witnessed in a bass player. Next, the series of jazz combos began, and a younger group of UAB students started to play. Their first song was The Preacher by Horace Silver, and this song was the only song with lyrics. The singer was nearly impossible to hear because she was singing in piano while the other group members were playing in fortissimo. • 22. A Patient With Respiratory Acidosis Essay a) In a patient with respiratory acidosis, the partial pressure of CO2 in the plasma (PCO2) rises above normal levels of 40 mmHg (1). Airway resistance due to asthma, respiratory depression due to drug use as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease all cause hypoventilation, lowering partial pressure of plasma oxygen (PO2) to below its normal value of approximately 100 mm Hg (1) and can lead to respiratory acidosis. The equation below describes the equation between CO2 and H2O with H+ and HCO3 . According to the law of mass action, all reactions tend towards equilibrium, and any disturbance in the amount of any of the products or reactants will shift the reaction in a direction which leads to re establishment of equilibrium. If CO2 concentration rises, the new chemical equilibrium will favour further production of both H+ and HCO3 through disassociation of H2CO3. Each additional molecule of CO2 would lead to production of one molecule of H+ and HCO3 . 〖CO〗_2+H_2 O→ H_2 CO^3→H^++HCO_3^ (1). Production of H+ will cause plasma pH to fall below 7.4. Normally, increases in H+ concentrations are buffered mostly by haemoglobin, however buffers can only resist small changes in pH. The HCO3 levels increase slightly, but are likely to still remain within normal levels of 22 to 26 mEq/L. This is because equilibrium changes in concentrations is slight compared to the large compensatory changes (1). Renal mechanisms can assist in excreting H+ and reabsorbing HCO3 . ... Creating and retrieving memories is something that happens without us knowing; subconscious remembrance of events allows us to remember our friend s name, a favorite baseball or football team, or what city we live in without needing to ask others or consult the internet. Even if we were to ask others a question about something, without memory we would forget the answer to the question we had asked immediately after they had told us, which would be quite a confusing and annoying situation for both parties involved. Without memory, we would have no concept of what is the past and what is the future, which would lead to a very different perception of reality than what we are used to. It should be noted; however, that there is a definite science for memory. As previously mentioned, memories can be encoded subconsciously (without our awareness), and also consciously. This paper will focus on the science of increasing the effectiveness of conscious memory, that is, memory that we intentionally try to encode into our minds with the purpose of a later retrieval. General Schlieffen wanted to make a plan where Germany could fight both France and Russia and still be victorious. Schlieffen proposed that German forces would advance through Belgium to avoid strong French troops on the Franco German Border. German troops would then move south and take the French by surprise. • 32. Nietzsche s View Of The Western Bourgeois Society The late 19th and early 20th centuries brought forth a modern approach to science, intellectual affairs, and the arts. Before 1914, these ideas were a result of the Scientific Revolution and the Enlightenment periods. During this time period there were a series of new inventions, which included electric lights, phonographs, cinema, and automobiles. One of these developments that opened the way to a modern consciousness was with developments in science. Science was a field that dealt with cold hard facts and reason, which is different from the religious beliefs that many individuals were used to seeing. Many believed that the Scientific laws of the time would give rise to an understanding of the physical world, however the new physics altered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead of artists applying brushstrokes towards paintings that encompassed realistic ideas, a new type of theme was known in the early 19th and late 20th centuries. This new theme of art came from Impressionism, which was a movement in France that dealt with painting outside of the studio or museums and painting nature directly. However, these painters did not only paint scenes from nature but also streets, cabarets, rivers, and busy boulevards, wherever human beings were present. Impressionists painting referred to originality seen in past artworks by utilizing bright colors, dynamic brushstrokes, and a smaller scale. By the 1880s a new style of painting had emerged in France and other European nations, which was Post Impressionism. Post Impressionism was different from Impressionism in that Post Impressionism emphasized not only on color and light but also focused more on structure and form. Also, these types of paintings used color and line to express a personal sense of reality that was different from Impressionism. As Post Impressionism shifted from objective reality to subjective reality, Post Impressionism was the beginning of modern art. Two of the most famous Post Impressionists are Paul Cezanne and Vincent van Gogh, whose famous paintings are Mont Sainte Victoire and Starry Night, separately. • 33. Refugee Controversy The estimated number of refugees since World War II is one hundred million ( Refugee ). Supporting and solving today s refugee crisis is especially controversial because of the current events, financing, and security issues. A refugee is a person who has left their country because of fear of their safety due to violence, race, religion, or war ( Refugee Facts ). Climate change and natural disasters sometimes cause people to leave their homes or countries. Some examples of these natural disasters are floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, and mudslides. These do not qualify as a reason to be a refuge ( Refugees ). Refugees leave their country and move to another country and ask for asylum which provides protection and assistance as a confirmed refugee. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In December 2015 Donald Trump argued that Muslim refugees should not be accepted into the U.S. until the vetting process can be improved to reduce security risks. Representative Peter King also believes that the process of checking refugees is not good enough. The process does not provide enough information to tell if a refugee is a terrorist or will become one ( Refugee Crisis ). In June 2015, Representative Michael McCaul said that terrorists are sneaking into the United States through the refugee process, and the United States should protect its citizens first ( Refugee Crisis ). Between 2001 and 2015, three of 850,000 refugees were convicted of terrorist attacks (Landon, Shanti.). Vetting refugees from Middle Eastern countries at war is not effective because criminal and terrorist records are not updated in these countries (Landon, Shanti) Other people believe the exact opposite is true. For instance, David Bier is the Director of Immigration Policy at Niskanen Center in Washington D.C. He wrote in his blog that refugees that flee from ISIS violence should continue to be welcomed into the U.S. because of the welfare of those people and for security reasons. Patrick Eddington, a prior CIA officer, said that Syrian refugees know a lot about ISIS, and they can give the United States information about ISIS. Some ISIS information has already been leaked by the Syrians to help the United States defeat them (Bier, David). Some people argue that besides a security threat, refugees also threaten the cultural ways of the country. In September 2015, the Politico reported that Bernard Monot of the European Parliament feared that the culture of France would change because Muslim refugees would bring in more children and more influence ( Refugee ... Although the population of Christians was on the rise, in the beginning of the fourth century Christians made up only 10 percent of the population in the Roman Empire. There were approximately five million Christian in the Roman Empire meaning that they were still the minority (Waldron). Although most Romans still believed in Greco Roman religions, Constantine decided to become a Christian because he knew that it would be beneficial for his role as emperor. His conversion was prompted by his desire to end the tetrarchy structure of he Roman Empire and to become the sole ruler of the Roman Empire. The story of Constantine s conversion was told through Eucbuius of Caersera. His recount of the story is skewed by his bias. In order to show a more holistic view of the story I will be comparing his account to the account of Andreas. Constantine had other motives for converting to Christianity such as Alföldi. Constantine s decision to become a Christian was influenced by numerous external factors.
