Is My Favourite Destination
MY FAVOURITE DESTINATION
Travelling a destination it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller. There are many
places that have touched my heart; as every place and every destination has its own beauty and god
has very wisely created the whole world along with every destination and they all are at its best. There
are many places I have visited and will be going to visit in future too. But no other place can ever alter
my favourite destination that is The City of Millennium Wheel LONDON .
London is the capital of England and is the most popular city which is situated on the River Thames.
Earlier it was named as Londinim by the Romans . London has that vibes of happiness and welcoming

London for me is not only a destination for travelling but it is a destination for living my dream. If I
could visit London in the near future it would be like my day dream coming true. And I would also ask
the person accompanying me to pinch me so I can feel my dream that it is coming true in reality with
my eyes wide open. So now as I can see my dream alive in front of me I will visit all possible places
of London. But firstly I will start my journey of dream from one of the biggest and gaint attraction of
London and that is the Millennium wheel which is also known as London Eye. That is one of the best
thing that I love about London. Sometimes it feels like that this ferris wheel was made for me as I am
very crazy about this kind of wheels rides. It is one of the biggest ride that I would enjoy first when I
am in London. And I would like to be on ride with my parents and my brother so that it could be a
long vacation with them were we can spend a quality time with each other as it is not possible to
spend a quality time with them in normal working life. And I want to live my dream with my family.
When I will reach the destination of London eye I will just sit there for some

Healthy Mouth Starts At Home
A happy, healthy mouth starts at home. A dental assistant is a link between healthy
mouths and patients. As a dental assistant, it is important that we educate every patient that
we see about their dental health care and how they can continue proper oral care after their
appointment at home.
Many people do not understand the risks that are associated with poor oral
hygiene. When a person has periodontal disease, they brush their teeth which in turn releases
bacteria into the bloodstream, causing numerous other health problems. In a study done in
2016, they found that gum disease can increase someone s risk of a heart attack by 28%.

If you leave a bottle or sip cup with the baby, it is suggested that you
only have water in the cup. Starting healthy oral hygiene from a young age will turn into
healthy oral hygiene as an adult.
Every patient that leaves the office should also leave with instructions on oral health
care at home. These instructions should include proper flossing, brushing, and interdental aids
that can be used. A dental assistant should explain the importance of flossing first. It should be
explained that when you floss first, you are removing any food that normal brushing can not
reach, and when you do not floss, you are missing approximately 40% of the tooth.
Demonstrate for the patient that you will need about 18 inches of floss, show them how you
wrap the floss around the middle finger of each hand using a clean part of the floss as you are
going from tooth to tooth, show them how to make a C with the floss and move up and down
the tooth.
If a patient has trouble with floss, you can help them find an alternative that can be helpful in
the place of flosses such as a dental water pic or pre threaded flosser.
After flossing, you can move on to the proper ways of brushing your teeth. Suggest

Copyright And Copyright Of Copyright Essay
The first thing for a web site owner to consider when publishing web applications is copyright. To
protect the originality of a web site owner s work , copyright is important issue. Basically, if someone
violates one of the five exclusive rights given to copyright owner by the Copyright Act , it is
considered as a copyright infringement. These include the right to reproduce a work, the right to
develop derivative works, the right to publicly display the work, or distribute copies3. Copyright
protection is related with following elements :
 The text of the site
 The pictures on the site
 Any clips of videos on the site
Using graphics is one of the important hallmarks of some popular web sites such as Microsoft s
Internet Explorer logo . In addition, text on a web site is also important part of copyright. This is
because plagiarizing text from third parties without permission is illegal like images do. To be more
specific, copyright is an especially essential issue in several web sites of search engines such as Yahoo
and Bing, and Google. In the case of both Yahoo and Bing, they are good at dealing with copyright
infringement by disabling accounts who repeatedly infringe other s copyrights . And, Yahoo
particularly takes care of listening consumers complaints if there are any wrong copyright
infringement reports6. However, Google automatically lower ranking of a particular web site in the

Emile Durkheim s View Of Religion
There are a numerous amount of different perspectives when concerning religions and myths. One
example is Emile Durkheim whose perspective of religion was that it was a social component of
human beings. He suggested that people got their regions ideas, were taught how to carry out their
rituals and developed their ideals as a result of their socialization. He believed that there were no false
religions and added that religion quite dominated over its followers and made them dependent on it.
Durkheim tried to distinguish between religion and magic. He suggested that religious or sacred things
are special and that commonplace things are profane. Magic rituals he claimed were just social events.
Religious ideas were created while rituals were being performed causing many emotional participates
to feel the presence of unseen beings among them, which was Durkheim s idea of a sacred world.
Durkheim stated that there is no church of magic and that there was no lasting bond between the
magician and his audience. A church binds the group together and a moral community because

Edward Tylor an English Scholar, defined religion as the belief in spiritual beings. He offered the
theory that these beliefs came from dreams and that the dreamer was somewhere between the living
and the dead. He suggested this is where the idea of souls originated. This evolved into the beliefs of
spirits which needed scarifies. This would cause the spirits to grant favors to the ones performing the
sacrifices. The sacrifices then became rituals. Tylor believes that science would cause religion to
disappear. This in effect caused polytheism to be born. If it was not for polytheism, monotheism
would not have been developed. Tylor s theory was that if society evolved so did their

A Case Study With Sony On Penetration Pricing As Global Pricing Strategy Meaning of Penetration
Pricing This is a marketing strategy used by firms to attract customers to a new product or service.
Penetration pricing is the practice of offering a low price for a new product or service during its initial
offering in order to attract customers away from competitors. The reasoning behind this marketing
strategy is that customers will buy and become aware of the new product due to its lower price in the
marketplace relative to rivals. It can often increase both market share and sales volume. Additionally,
the high sales volume can also lead to lower production costs and higher inventory turnover, both of

Ultra-Violence In A Clockwork Orange
Discussions about literature and their adaptions, what they are and how they relate to tradition and
society prompts the question, how does the ultra violence fit in? In A Clockwork Orange, ultra
violence plays a key role in the overarching theme and tension within the novel and its Stanley
Kubrick s 1972 adaptation of the same name. The act of violence is paired with use of classical music
which incorporates happiness and pleasure with the act of evil. The use music to create tension within

Mental Health Services In Schools
The Need of Mental Health Services in Schools Mental health is vital in every stage of life. It heavily
influences the way people think, communicate, and handle difficulties. The absence of mental health
services, especially for a person who really needs it, can be detrimental to lives. To best assist an
individual in becoming a contributive citizen, these services must be accessible at an early age. I
firmly believe that P 12 schools should integrate comprehensive mental health services due to being
essential factors in the emotions, attitudes, and behavior of students. One in five youth live with a
mental health condition, but less than half of these individuals receive needed services. Undiagnosed,

Schools also incorporate physical health services and implement them as necessities. What about
mental health? Is this not crucial in one s behavior, physical abilities, and choices? Mental health plays
a major factor on a students performance and capacity. Students with mental health issues can lead
towards the following behavior paths: dropping out of school; having difficulties in learning, behavior,
and or performance; truancy issues; and school failure. If the lack of mental health in schools can have
such an enormous impact on student achievement and school success, why is it not being included in
schools? Mental health plays an important role in the school systems not only for students, but for
teachers as well. Mental health services can support and be as beneficial to teachers as it can be for
students. Educators face hardships at home and work. They must also learn how to successfully

Beowulf And Viking Qualities During The Medieval Times
Beowulf and Viking qualities
During the medieval times Vikings were known as warriors or heroes. These heroes were known
mostly for their superhuman strength. Most stories tell the journey of these warriors and how they are
honored after defeating an evil creature. A prime example of this would be the poem of Beowulf .
Beowulf is known for his superhuman strength as the Vikings or warriors once were. However,
Vikings were not only known for their physical qualities, they were also known for their leadership in
battle and their interaction with those they serve as well as the courage they displayed. In this poem,
Beowulf displays many characteristics as that of a medieval warrior through his acts of bravery,
loyalty, generosity, courage, and an accomplishment of a great task. This epic poem written by an
anonymous writer takes places during the medieval times in Heorot. The town of heorot is being
troubled every night by a gruesome appearing creature by the name of Grendel. Grendel raids the
mead hall of the Danish warriors and brutally kills them. Beowulf is called upon by the king of heorot,
Hrothgar, to fight Grendel and save the Danish people from any more destruction. Beowulf, along
with his following warriors, travel overseas to help the town. He ultimately wins however the battle is
not yet over. After defeating Grendel Beowulf then has to face his overprotecting mother which he
also defats later on in the story in her cave under a nearby lake. After this battle,

Military Respect Research Paper
Respect, being the third Army Value, is a central pillar to the beliefs and principles upheld by the
United States Army. These beliefs and principles are representative of this organization and are
integral to the behaviors between superior and subordinate, team member to team member, or officer
to Noncommissioned Officer, and are central to customs and courtesies that we must all adhere to.
Respect and courtesies that travel both up and down the chain are not only critical, but highly revered
and regarded by all. Respect is expected from the lower ranks upward, even if the person demanding
the respect is unworthy of that respect. Something I personally have heard that I hold close to my heart

Structure provides order and the necessary balance within an organization or ensure duties and

all to the best of their abilities. Respect ensures goals and tasks are executed and met. Respect is
reflective also upon one s own respect and discipline for themselves and others. For example, saluting
an officer is a custom and courtesy that hinges on respect. If you do not care about the military, and
are rude or disrespectful, and just walk by an officer without rendering a salute, you will most likely
get a couple dirty looks and a immediate corrective training from said officer. This same principle
applies to a greeting of the day to a senior Noncommissioned Officer. A proper good morning to the
First Sergeant is fairly respectful. These examples further solidify the idea that without the basic
respect for authority, the military would lack structure, rank, and authority. This lack of respect would

Hernandez not only imitated his father s sports star status playing for the Patriots, but also became

His lifestyle choices almost prevented him from gaining his success as an athlete in the NFL. Despite

Islam And The Five Pillars Of Islam
Religious praying has been a staple in many religions to communicate to a higher being or for self
spiritual cleansing. Catholicism, for example, uses a rosary as an artifact to recite certain prayers, and
for the Jewish community they pray three times daily to observe Judaism. Islamic praying is a
different story. Muslims around the world perform the Five Pillars of Islam to appease their faith. The
Five Pillars of Islam have specific names for each pillar in chronological order; The Shahada, Salah
(also spelled Salat), Zakat, Saum, and Hajj The Salah, the second of the Five Pillars, is the Islamic
prayer performed five times a day at specific times. Performing the Salah is a way for muslims to
connect with Allah, who they regard as their one true God. The story on how Salah came to be was
from none other than the Holy Prophet Muhammad himself in which he declared that he had a vision,
or a dream, that he rode a white animal, called the Buraq, from Mecca to Jerusalem and from that
location he ascended towards heaven itself. Once arrived he was greeted by Moses who then took him
to God s presence. From there Muhammad asked God if he could shorten the daily number of prayers,
which used to be fifty, to only five per day. Because of this vision, the reason for reciting five prayers
daily came to be. It was authenticated in the Qur an as being a true circumstance, however it is not

Piaget s Theory Of The Stages Of Development Essay
Conservation is the ability to understand that as an object changes form, it does not change the overall
amount or mass. In Piaget s theory, he describes that during the pre operational stage of development
children are often incapable of understanding the concept of conservation, the ages in this stage
generally range from 2 6 years old (Siegler Alibali, 2005). It isn t until the concrete operational stage
that children have the ability to understand conservation. During this stage children range from the
ages of 7 12 years old. In order to observe the changes in between stages, I chose to administer Piaget
s conservation of solid quantity to two different children. The task administered was to see if the two
children would be able to see a transformation when I rolled out one of the two balls of clay. Piaget
illustrated a stage model that explains the different stages of development starting at birth and
continuing to twelve years old and onwards. In the task that I will be conducting it involves two of the
four stages. The first stage is the pre operational period. During this time children are exhibiting
egocentrism as well as using symbolic representations, such as symbols or using signs. When children
are in the pre operational stage they do not have the ability to see transformations, instead they focus
on fixed states. It is not until the concrete operational stage that children are able to see these
transformations between states. The inability to see

Who Is Wang Lung s Death In The Good Earth
In the course of everyone s life, ups and downs inevitably occurs. In Pearl S. Buck s novel, The Good
Earth, we observe as Wang Lung s life rises up and becomes a wealthy and humble man. Wang Lung
is a poor orphan farmer and he works his way up to becoming a wealthy, humble, and successful older
man. This novel provides scenes that represents the meaning and tragedy of life. A devastating
occurrence in The Good Earth is when Olan makes a final decision to kill her newborn daughter
immediately after the birth. I have come to a conclusion that Olan decides to choke her daughter to
death because Wang Lung and Olan could not afford to feed another mouth during this time of famine.
Male or female, it mattered nothing to him now there was only another mouth coming which must be
fed. (86) In the novel, Wang Lung ponders about what would he would end up doing to feed this child,

Olan s first child, who happens to be a baby boy. This is a significant event that represents the thrill
and ecstasy a child brings along to the parents life. He went up and for the moment there were no
words in his mouth. (39) All of this excitement and delight causes Wang Lung to be speechless. His
heart crowded up into his breast and he leaned over the child to look at

Political Humor
At a Communist Party Congress it is announced that Communism has triumphed all over the world.
Even the United States has elected a Communist as President. The delegates dance in the aisles,
cheering like mad, except for an old man, who sits in the corner with a glum expression on his face.
Comrade, asks a delegate. Why are you not happy?
Because, says the old man, I wonder where we are going to buy our wheat next year.
This joke deals with the reality behind the five year plans and glorious statistics always announced by
the East European governments. Without America, and other Capitalist nations, the joke tells us,
Eastern European Communists countries would starve.

He was just joking and probably never thought his words would be recorded, but discovered that the
rest of the world didn t consider this joke humorous at all. The Polish News Agency PAP commented
that Reagan had called the Polish leadership a bunch of no good lousy bums a couple of years earlier,
while testing his microphone. The agency said that while Reagan didn t say these words formally, he
knew they would be spread by news agencies. The Standard, a London paper called the joke a serious
embarrassment and Le Monde suggested psychologists would have to decide whether the statement
was an expression of a repressed desire or the exorcism of a dreaded phantom. Members of the British
Labor Party described Reagan s remarks as sick humor. The point, then, is that it is dangerous for
politicians to joke around and very dangerous when that politician is president of the United States.

Schindler s Role In The Emalia Factory
Bramm Nafael and Hermann Lewkowice. Josek Niemic and Ezriel Putter. Selig Kopeo and Samuel
Kopeo. The list goes on and on, easily entering the thousands. They were Holocaust survivors, all
saved and safeguarded by Schindler when they worked in his Emalia factory. The factory, although
not quite as well known as Schindler s List, not only marked the beginning of Schindler s endeavors to
save Jews, but also played a critical role in Schindler s master plan.
The seeds of the Emalia Factory were planted the early 1930s and soon started sprouting not many
years later. During that time, Germany had already started programs aimed at Aryanizing non Aryan
owned businesses, especially Jews. Since it mainly targeted Jews, the programs were most likely ...

Judging from his actions, Schindler wasn t deterred by the fact that some Jews were simply a
deadweight, but instead, only tried to save as many Jews as possible. To provide a legitimate reason to
SS officers of the large number of Jews employed in his factory, Schindler claimed that all the workers
were essential to the war effort. Without them, the production rate of the factory would drastically
decrease. Since the factory did produce items that benefited the German army, his claim of Jews being
essential did seem pretty real, therefore allowing Schindler to raise a curtain to prying eyes. This then
provided Schindler with more time to shield the Jews until the Soviets were able to defeat Germany
and liberate the camp. Furthermore, the Jews who worked and lived in the sub camp inside the factory
weren t mistreated in any way. No one was left starving. No one was physically abused. No one was
killed. Compared to the brutal concentration camps, the Emalia factory was simply a haven, helping to
alleviate the great amount of psychological trauma and pain imprinted in the Jews. One time, Amon
Goeth, an SS officer came to the factory for inspection, and he saw Isak Pila, a 20 year old Jewish
worker asleep under a table. He immediately told Schindler to kill him, but

Class Dismissed How TV Frames The Working Class
Karl Marx was born in Trier, Germany in 1818. He was a Economist, Philosopher and a Sociologist.
Marx attained his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Berlin in 1841. Among the various
theories and concepts developed by Marx, his theory on the capitalist economic system along with the
concept of the base and superstructure is what he widely recognized by. Although Marx was born in a
fairly wealthy middle class family, Marx has always questioned the capitalist system that is being
utilized. More recently with the emergence of media, the capitalist system has been able increase the
gap between the poor and the wealthy. The documentary, Class Dismissed: How TV Frames the
Working Class addresses the inequality of the capitalist system with the aid of Marx s theory of
capitalist, in addition to educating the audience of the dishonest techniques utilized by the media to
conceal this inequality (2005,Alper). The film, Class Dismissed: How TV Frames the Working Class,
by Loretta Alper illustrates how the media uses stereotypes in a humorous manner to gain viewers.
The film is based on the 90 s sitcoms. As described by the film, many of the most memorable
characters of these sitcoms are of the working class (2005). Furthermore it states that since we view
television as a source of entertainment not education, we are easily being subconsciously manipulated.

What Happens When A Soccer Ball Bounces
1.0 Background Theory
1.1 Introduction
This investigation aims to determine the relationship between air pressure and the bounce height of the
ball, and what material (material of a basketball, volleyball and soccer ball) is best suited for a ball in
order for it to achieve its greatest bounce height.
1.2 Research Questions
1. How does the air pressure inside a ball influence the bounce height/vertical motion of that ball?
2. How does the material of a ball affect the bounce height/vertical motion of that ball?
1.3 Theory
1.31 Air Pressure
Air pressure can be defined as the force applied by air molecules on the surfaces in and around an
object, and is measured in Pascals one Newton per square metre (Pa) or pounds per square inch (psi).

The velocity of the ball increases in the opposite direction as it has started to rebound from the ground
with acceleration still pointing up (see Figure 5). This also means that the elastic potential energy is
transferring into kinetic energy, although the kinetic energy will be less than previous because some of
the energy has been lost to generate heat and sound when the ball lands and deforms. Due to the loss
in energy, the ball will not return to its original drop height and creates a bounce height.
Figure 5: Stage 5 (Real World Physics Problems, 2016)
6. The ball is now just touching the surface so it has returned to its original shape so all the elastic
potential energy has been transferred back into kinetic energy again (see Figure 6). The only force
acting on the ball now is gravity, so the acceleration has changed back to its original direction and its
velocity is decreasing.

The Efficacy Of The Myers Briggs Type Indicator

BIS3320 The Nature of Intellectual Inquiry
An Evaluation of the Reliability of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator
The Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is an evaluative personality tool that is widely used
throughout the world today. It is important for a tool that is popularly utilized in a variety of fields and
at numerous professional institutions worldwide to be a credible one. So, is the MBTI really the valid
reliable personality inventory instrument it claims to be? Evaluating this tool will show that
empirically sound evidence does not exist to support the MBTI as an accurate, reliable, or valid
instrument for profiling one s personality type.
The MBTI questionnaire was created by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs
Myers. Their collaborative work to develop this measurement of personality was inspired by to the
writings/work of Carl Jung (more specifically his book entitled Psychological Type). This mother and
daughter s shared fascination and interest in type theory led them to create the MBTI in the early
1940s as a test to be used for personnel selection. Myers believed that different occupations favored
different personality orientations, and that Jung s theory provided a theoretical link between
personality and job performance (Pittenger, 1993). It is important to note that it was Myers belief that

Heroic As A Hero
What does the word heroic mean to you? What pops into your mind? For me when I think of the word
heroic, I think of my dad. My dad has always supported me on all my decisions and he is alway
reliable. Not only does my dad supports me on everything, he is also very understanding and humble.
He has always been loving and patient, not only with me, but with the small town of Manton. He also
goes out of his way to make others feel good before himself. It was the year of 2010, the sun was
shining and the wind was slight. I was on my way home from school when my aunt Angie s phone
started ringing. She was driving so she let my cousin Haley answer her phone. It was my dad, he was
calling with the most life changing news I have ever heard. It was about my mom, she couldn t be
found, no one has heard from her all day. My dad made me come home right away. When I got home
he ran over to me and wrapped his soft arms around me and held me so very closely. That life
changing day, has made my dad and I more closer. Since she has been gone, there hasn t been one day
that he hasn t been by my side. Not only is he always there for me he is also a very reliable person. In
our town of Manton, my dad has been a very flexible, helping, and a very patient community member.
Along with that, he has been a great role model for me. My father has been the host of the Bluegrass
Festival, Harvest Festival, and many more Community gatherings. He volunteers his own personal
time to help others that are in need. An example of this is his career. His career of being a pharmacist
changed from employee to boss very quickly. He helps others when they are in need of medicine or
have medical concerns during out of business hours. He makes time to deliver from five to ten pm on
his own time. When I watch him do all this community service, volunteer, and put others first, it
makes me do the same. That is why he is a very loving flexible, helping, patient, role model. For not
only me, but including with the rest of the citizens of Manton. When someone makes mistakes usually
there is a lot of disappointment. Perhaps you do something you re not supposed to, or you let your
sassiness out, or maybe you fail a test because you didn t study. Those

Keeping A Diary Doubles Diet Weight Loss
Method Activity
1. Correlational vs. Causation The topic Keeping a Diary Doubles Diet Weight Loss seems to offer a
solution in relation to weight loss and keeping a diary. Therefore, without reading the article, the topic
offers an impression of a causal claim. Causal claims are supported by having independent and
dependent variable. The independent variable is the factor that can be manipulated to result to change
on another factor (Christensen, Johnson Turner, 2014). In other words, the independent variable
represents the cause while the dependent variable represents the effect in an experiment (Rea Parker,
2014). Therefore, the factor that is being manipulated to cause changes in the claim Keeping a Diary
Diet Weight Loss is the food diary; thus, the independent variable is food diary. The factor affected by
the independent variable, which represent the output is weight loss; thus, the dependent variable is
weight loss.
1.1 Justifying the Claim Based on the Research The research offers some grounds for supporting the
claim, but notable factors affect a direct link between keeping a food diary and double loss of weight.
Therefore, though the research supports the claim, the confounding factors, notable in the research,
such as compliance to support group meeting, adherence to DASH, and compliance to moderate
intensity level of exercises for at least 30 minutes can also have an influence on weight loss. It is
difficult to significantly isolate food records

La Casa De Bernarda Alba Essay
The House of Bernarda Alba is the third play in the trilogy knows as the Rural Trilogy alongside
Blood Wedding and Yerma by Federico García Lorca. Garcia Lorca was a Spanish poet, playwright,
who was a member of the Generation of 27. Garcia Lorca s main themes include the tension between
social responsibility and individual freedom as well as love and tragedy. After the death of her second
husband, Bernarda Alba is locked up at home and imposes a rigorous and suffocating mourning for
eight years, forbidding her five daughters to go out into the street. When Angustias, the firstborn, and

The symbols Lorca uses are diverse; he uses the same symbols in many of his other works. According
to Sharp it was natural for him to use symbols of nature to deal with the problems concerning life and
reproduction... Black and white colors The white walls contrast with the women s mourning dresses.
The contrasts are very frequent in the work of Lorca, and in La casa de Bernarda Alba can symbolize
the dichotomy that exists between what the individual wants and what society demands, or in this case
what the daughters want and what Bernarda demands of them. White also represents purity, and black,
death. The contrast reinforces the idea of a photographic documentary, which Lorca wanted to convey.
In Lorca s works, the color green signifies rebellion and the yearning for freedom. Adela rebels
against her mother s will and dresses in green. This color also symbolizes the death for Lorca, and
indeed Adela dies at the end. Bernarda s cane is a symbol of tyrannical power and its phallic form
represents patriarchal values. Another theory is that alludes to the blindness of Bernarda to the desires
of her daughters. Throughout the play, there is a horse that furiously hits the walls of the stable
representing the masculinity and lust. Heat is present at all times and the characters constantly
mention it. It represents repressed passion. Stagnant water is used as a symbol of death. The village
has no rivers, only wells and water that moves throughout rivers is said to represent life. The moon is
considered a lorquiano symbol that represents death and seduction, in this case seduction lead to

This clever scheme presents the fraudulent nature of a consumer society. Often, consumers are
convinced they are buying something different than the object; they unconsciously seek to purchase
their ideal selves Even though liposuction merely changes appearance, it is solely artificial. Soap
represents the artificiality of society and its ability to wash away humanity. Consumers become so
engrossed with the spectacle of commodities that they lose their humanity, trading it for possessions.
The soap made by the Paper Street Soap Company is made of the excess of the bourgeoisie. Marla

How Does Emily Dickinson Use Imagery In Because I Could...
Emily Dickinson was born on a cold winter day on December 10, 1830. She had one of the most
intriguing lives of any poet. Emily grew up in Amherst, Massachusetts, and later attended Amherst
Academy. Emily spent most of her life living reclusively, not even venturing out of her home. During
her life, she wrote a total of 1,800 poems. Although she did not wish to share them with anyone, they
were eventually published and enjoyed by the world. One of the poems, Because I Could not Stop for
Death , reflects the author s depth in writing. In this poem, Emily Dickinson uses metaphor,
personification, and imagery to create an alternative image of death.
Firstly, Dickinson used metaphor to give death a sense of warmth. Throughout the poem, Because I
Could not Stop for Death , many metaphors provide a soothing consciousness upon the subject of
death. Emily use of metaphors allows the subject to be read with more comfort. Dickinson refers to
the grave as a house, buried under ground. Further more, death is described as a kind gentleman,
instead of a cruel master. The years of her life flash past as the woman drives past with death. This
represents the woman s childhood, relating to the statement that death flashes before our eyes. To ...

Portraying death in such a way takes another step in providing death with a more gentle appearance.
Emily describes death as a caring, kind man who willingly goes out of his way for her. This contrasts
the soulless, cold charisma many poets assign death. Death does not rush the lady to her grave, and
instead slowly drives, offering her a time of reflection upon her life. Dickinson may have used
personification to make death easier to embrace. Therefore, by giving death humanity, the author gives

The problem with some environmentalist is putting nature before God. Rich Deem stated that, Many
Christians have reacted against the environmental movement, probably because of the tendency by
many environmentalists not only to protect the earth and its creatures, but to actually worship the

Vertical Application Advantages
1. Would the new reservation and booking system be a horizontal or a vertical application? Explain
your answer. A software application used by many users with various experience and knowledge and
features of the application are not market specific is a horizontal application. A vertical application
targets a specific industry to support a specialized business process that requires users to have specific
skills in order to perform their job. The new reservation and booking system is a horizontal application
because a large number of people use it in several markets such as the food, airline, camping, and

Shakespeare s Heart Of Darkness
Relevance of Heart of Darkness
Alexander Spirovski
LITR 211
Professor David Auchter
Joseph Conrad s Heart of Darkness contains both relevant and irrelevant elements to today s society.
Issues present in the text such as imperialism, racism, and moral ambiguity are still present today but
their formats have changed enough in society that Heart of Darkness approaches obsolescence in
perspective. Concurrently, the characters and theme presented in Heart of Darkness are scarce in
fictional British literature therefore allowing this book to remain quite relevant. As we read more
books, our ability to form informed opinions increases.
Imperialism in Heart of Darkness is prompted by pursuit of natural resources such as ivory under the
guise of the benevolent deed of civilizing primitive savage tribes of Africa. What occurs is the
widespread enslavement of Africans by Europeans via forced labor, physical beatings, chained
bondage, and denial of basic necessities such as food, clothing, and medicine, as seen here:
Six black men advanced in a file, toiling up the path. They walked erect and slow, balancing small
baskets full of earth on their heads, and the clink kept time with their footsteps. Black rags were
wound round their loins, and the short ends behind waggled to and fro like tails. I could see every rib,
the joints of their limbs were like knots in a rope; each had an iron collar on his neck, and all were
connected together with a chain whose bights swung between

The new user policy section has been modified to require manager approval and validation of the user
s access request based upon the user s role. Previously the policy only required manager approval for
user s requiring administrator privileges. In accordance with Health Insurance Portability and
Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards on access controls, users will have the minimum access
required to perform the functions of their job in order to protect against unnecessary access to
electronic protected health information (ePHI).
The new user policy has also been modified to include security and awareness training requirements.
HIPAA includes addressable administrative standards for security and awareness training of all
members of the workforce to include periodic security reminders, protection from malware, log in
monitoring and password management (HHS, 2007).
The password policy has been modified to increase length and complexity requirements from eight
character passwords made up of only upper and lowercase characters to twelve character passwords
including numbers and special characters. Even complex eight character passwords can be cracked
using modern tools (Murphy, 2015). To most effectively protect and safeguard data as required by
HIPAA, the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) and the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard
(PCI DSS), passwords must be long.

everyone is too scared to check Ralph decided to be the one to go. Something deep in Ralph spoke for

reason to think that his father was coming to rescue them, but Ralph always kept his faith in being

Glaeser City Sociology
1. According to Glaeser, cities attract talent and innovation due to its abundance of opportunity.
Historically, workers migrate to cities in search of employment and upward mobility, as demonstrated
by many cities migration patterns in the early twentieth century as a result of the Industrial
Revolution. However, Glaeser claims that in order to attract wealthy people, like Indian billionaire
Lakshmi Mittal to London, a city must prove to be pleasant and not only abundant in opportunity but
in entertainment because of all the people cities import. Restaurants are a major source of
entertainment in urban life, primarily for the experience of eating out and the fact that eating out is

While some cities. A low real wage describes the cost of enjoying the pleasures of cities like Honolulu
whereas a high real wage describes how one must cope with hardships brought upon by the city such
as an unsafe environment or hostile weather conditions, like New York in the seventies. Low real
wages indicate a successful city with sufficient urban amenities, while those high real wages were a
sign of urban failure the painful crime rate and disintegration of urban amenities (104). According to
the data given of American metropolitan areas, Fresno has the lowest real wages at $44,501 while
Tulsa has the highest at $70,260. By Glaeser s argument, Fresno should be the metropolitan area with
the greatest amenities. However, Fresno has the lowest median family income and second highest cost
of living index. Out of the five cities, Boston is the most cosmopolitan. The city is rich with
entertainment establishment and enjoys a high median family income. Yet, Fresno appears to offer
more amenities than Boston and definitely Tulsa with the highest real wage. In Glaeser s logic, a city
must be doing something wrong if it has high real wages. Perhaps signals a lack of investment in

Queen Elizabeth The Best Queen In European History
On September 7th, at Greenwich Palace in England, a young girl called, the illegitimate daughter of
King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn was born. Her name was Elizabeth and she would become one of
the most significant English monarchs of all time. She lost her mother when she was 2 and her father
passed away when she was 13. She was persecuted for heresy by her own sister and locked in the
Tower. Her legacy lives on to this day and her bravery still strikes the hearts and minds of
Englishmen. Though her refusal to marry left her throne empty, Elizabeth I was the best queen in
European history because of her pragmatic nature, devotion to her people, and her confidence in her
beliefs.
Her pragmatic nature is one of the many reasons that Elizabeth is renowned all over the world. When
Elizabeth chose her council she chose a modern and balanced group of individuals, as she did not
want a council that was overly conservative, old fashioned, or rash (Neale 54). Her chief advisor Sir
William Cecil was equally pragmatic and together they created many clever policies, including ...

By doing this she also ended the Tudor era and spent quite a bit of her valuable time turning down
suitors. Her rightful successor was James VI, the son of Mary Queen of Scots, who eventually became
the King of Scotland, England, and Ireland ( Queen Elizabeth I ). Even though the future of England
was at risk and she wasted her time with suitors Elizabeth used her promise of marriage as a powerful
diplomatic tool and a bargaining piece whenever she needed the favor of another country (Huso).
Along with that Elizabeth had absolutely no interest in compromising her power by adding a king to
the mix, and she could not threaten the fragile peace that England had created by marrying a person
from another European

The King Of The Frankish
Charlemagne, also known as Karl I or Charles the great [1] was the king of the Frankish (the
Germanic peoples of France, west Germany and North Italy). He took the throne in 768 A.D after the
death of his father Pepin the short, with his brother Carloman as co ruler. He became king of Italy in
774 after his conquest of the Lombard kingdoms and after 800 A.D he was proclaimed the Emperor of
the Romans by the Pope Leo III. This marks the peak of the Carolingian empire that Charlemagne
founded [2], which covered vast swathes of western Europe and was the largest Christian kingdom of
the time (1,112,000 square kilometers) [3]. Through Charlemagne s exceptional drive and vision to
unite his people under a common religion and state [4], Christianity s dominance of the west and its
survival was ensured. Called the father of Europe (pater Europa) [5] because of his role in founding
the major kingdoms of mainland Europe and because of his role in the Carolingian Renaissance [6]
that revitalised Europe s cultural and economic strength. Many Manuscripts written by scholars and
monks such as Einhard (in vita Karoli Magni), deal with Charlemagne s rise to prominence and his
conquests.
Charlemagne s early power at the beginning of his reign, was largely due to the efforts of his father
Pippin III (the short) and Charles Martel (the hammer) [7]. Pippin the short was the first Carolingian
king to be crowned, but the great men of Charlemagne s family had been exercising royal authority

As a dental assistant, it is important that we educate every patient that we see about their dental health care and how they can continue proper oral care after their appointment at home. Many people do not understand the risks that are associated with poor oral hygiene. What Happens When A Soccer Ball Bounces 1.0 Background Theory 1.1 Introduction This investigation aims to determine the relationship between air pressure and the bounce height of the ball, and what material (material of a basketball, volleyball and soccer ball) is best suited for a ball in order for it to achieve its greatest bounce height. 1.2 Research Questions 1. How does the air pressure inside a ball influence the bounce height/vertical motion of that ball? 2. How does the material of a ball affect the bounce height/vertical motion of that ball? 1.3 Theory 1.31 Air Pressure Air pressure can be defined as the force applied by air molecules on the surfaces in and around an object, and is measured in Pascals one Newton per square metre (Pa) or pounds per square inch (psi). ... This also means that the elastic potential energy is transferring into kinetic energy, although the kinetic energy will be less than previous because some of the energy has been lost to generate heat and sound when the ball lands and deforms. Due to the loss in energy, the ball will not return to its original drop height and creates a bounce height. Figure 5: Stage 5 (Real World Physics Problems, 2016) 6. The ball is now just touching the surface so it has returned to its original shape so all the elastic potential energy has been transferred back into kinetic energy again (see Figure 6). It is important for a tool that is popularly utilized in a variety of fields and at numerous professional institutions worldwide to be a credible one. So, is the MBTI really the valid reliable personality inventory instrument it claims to be? Evaluating this tool will show that empirically sound evidence does not exist to support the MBTI as an accurate, reliable, or valid instrument for profiling one s personality type. Correlational vs. Causation The topic Keeping a Diary Doubles Diet Weight Loss seems to offer a solution in relation to weight loss and keeping a diary. Therefore, without reading the article, the topic offers an impression of a causal claim. Causal claims are supported by having independent and dependent variable. The independent variable is the factor that can be manipulated to result to change on another factor (Christensen, Johnson Turner, 2014). In other words, the independent variable represents the cause while the dependent variable represents the effect in an experiment (Rea Parker, 2014). The factor affected by the independent variable, which represent the output is weight loss; thus, the dependent variable is weight loss. 1.1 Justifying the Claim Based on the Research The research offers some grounds for supporting the claim, but notable factors affect a direct link between keeping a food diary and double loss of weight. Black and white colors The white walls contrast with the women s mourning dresses. The contrasts are very frequent in the work of Lorca, and in La casa de Bernarda Alba can symbolize the dichotomy that exists between what the individual wants and what society demands, or in this case what the daughters want and what Bernarda demands of them. White also represents purity, and black, death. The contrast reinforces the idea of a photographic documentary, which Lorca wanted to convey. In Lorca s works, the color green signifies rebellion and the yearning for freedom. Adela rebels against her mother s will and dresses in green. This color also symbolizes the death for Lorca, and indeed Adela dies at the end. Bernarda s cane is a symbol of tyrannical power and its phallic form represents patriarchal values. Another theory is that alludes to the blindness of Bernarda to the desires of her daughters. Throughout the play, there is a horse that furiously hits the walls of the stable representing the masculinity and lust. Heat is present at all times and the characters constantly mention it.
