Question1: On a scale from 0 to 10, we would like to mark it with 2.
Answer:
TPG is overwhelmingly acting as a financial buyer.
Firstly, picking up Ducati as its target company is quite opportunistic. From the traditional investment
style s point of view, TPG is interested in those companies that had grown rapidly but still had the
corporate structures of very small companies which caused great stress to the management of the
business, and the assets of their target companies always being considered to be divided in order to
improve the business riping for LBO. Besides, TPG is expecting to add complexity to the doing the
deals and realize fiscal efficiency. Ducati is thus to be an ideal target from these ... Show more content

This paper introduces a 35 year old female who is exhibiting signs of sadness, lack of interest in daily
activities and suicidal tendencies. She has no interest in hobbies, which have been very important to
her in the past. Her lack of ambition and her suicidal tendencies are causing great concern for her
family members. She is also exhibiting signs of hypersomnia, which will put her in dangerous

superior in preventing relapse. Clients receiving CBT for all depression disorders are encouraged to

patients learn how to restructure negative thought patterns in order to interpret their environment in a
less biased way. CBT for Bipolar Disorder and the high risk depressed client is used as an adjunct to
medication treatment and focuses on psychoeducation about the disorder and understanding cues and
triggers for relapse. The client will have more reason to gain more confidence in them. Studies

Peaceful Civil Disobedience
Civil disobedience is a timeless practice that has been carried on from generation to generation, from
Socrates refusal to execute Leon of Salamis to today s Syrian rebels fight for freedom. In many cases
of injustice, the public will rise up to reclaim their human rights, and ever so often these fights are
nonviolent in nature and educational to all the people who engage in it. However, even in acts of
nonviolent demonstrations, both the demonstrator and the demonstrated can be hurt. So the question
arises: does peaceful disobedience positively impact a free society? Or does such disobedience only
contribute to the tension already apparent? The answer to this question, simply put, is that civil
disobedience can positively impact a free society in more ways than one. Peaceful civil disobedience
is one of the most important aspects that exemplifies a truly free society, for the ability of a group to
protest against injustice is true human freedom. Peaceful demonstrations can also encourage better and
stronger livelihood among people who are oppressed, since these actions can and will open the eyes of
oppressors, and as a result such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Reflection On Learning Habits And Academic Success
Learning habits are skills taught or based off of an individual s personal experiences. There are several
different forms of learning habits, for example, working in a safe environment, collaborating with
others, independently working, being reliable, organized, showcasing initiative, having the ability to
possess self advocacy and to have the flexibility to provide customer service. In this reflection paper, I
will address ways these learning habits or skills aid in supporting my academic success. Also,
displaying the learning habits I already possess as an individual and capsizing on those skills or
patterns I have yet to develop. In summarizing my reflection, I will establish a plan I have for
promoting and supporting the learning habits I need to created still. Let s explore some of these
options that were associated with learning habits and skills.
As stated above learning habits consist of several different formalities; however, as a college student
these habits should contain being flexible to work with others, working in a healthy safe setting,
possessing the ability to work and student independently, being reliable, having a sense of
organizational system, taking the initiative for my actions, asking the appropriate questions to seek
clarification when discussing topics, and being able to efficiently listen to determine if I have
successfully comprehended the topic of discussion. Each of these factors will assist with my thriving
as a successful student. For example, taking the initiative will permit an individual to establish more
leadership roles, which as a nurse I do not mind helping anyone who needs help, which consists of
being open minded and flexible. Other incentives associated with these learning habits and student
require the student to be disciplined and proactive in their learning experiences. I have learned that
having discipline is to key to being a successful college student.
Some of the learning habits and skills that I already possess are listed as follows; I tend to seek clarity
to comprehend, which entails me analyzing and accessing the situation. These traits tend to make me
efficient as a nurse with displaying empathy to others while actively listening to their concerns. At

Why Jane Goodall Should Be Considered A Hero
Jane Goodall
Imagine being tested on by scientists with unsafe products, or being abused just because you are
another species. Jane Goodall stands against that. She believes that animals should have an equally
happy life as humans, and that keeping a clean environment is a way to do it. Goodall has proven
many people wrong through her research and discoveries. This is why Jane Goodall should be
considered a hero, because of the work she has done that has positively affected the environment,
animals lives, and what we have learned. Even though people had doubted her, Jane discovered new
things on chimps, proving many people wrong. When She was a kid, her father gave her a toy

Sara Ramirez Essay
Last month, CBS debuted their last cast addition to the show Madame Secretary Sara Ramirez.
Ramirez s new presence on the show is significant but it seems to be signaling a larger sea change in
prime time television that has historically lacked diversity. Ramirez, who is an openly bisexual Latina
woman, has been a mainstay on the show Grey s Anatomy over the years. Her latest role as Kat
Sandoval, a brilliant and a little quirky, political strategist turned avocado farmer is giving Mike B., a
trusted advisor to the Secretary of State, a run for his money. It is also challenging the way Ramirez

portrayal of Torres from 2006 15, who comes out as bisexual on the show after a short lived marriage

Ramirez s personally. The role helped put her on the map, and she became a pop culture icon through

Model Of Christian Charity
A Model of Christian Charity is a sermon written in 1630 by John Winthrop, a Puritan leader. The
Way to Wealth is an essay written in 1758 by Benjamin Franklin. Winthrop gives his sermon on the
Arbella while its members are sailing for the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the New World. Franklin s
essay consists of proverbs and advice given throughout his yearly almanac titled Poor Richard s
Almanack . Both texts discuss the idea of success and how one can attain it. Winthrop argues that
success can be achieved through a sense of community; however, Franklin believes that success can
be attained through individual industry and frugality. In A Model of Christian Charity , Winthrop
believes that the reason why some people are rich and others ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

People cannot be lazy if they want to be wealthy. Franklin states, Sloth makes all things difficult, but
industry all things easy, and that riseth late must trot all day, and shall scarce overtake his business at
night, while laziness travels so slowly that poverty soon overtakes him (Franklin 458 459). Franklin
believes that being lazy will not lead to success, it will only lead to poverty. Someone attains success
though individual industry. This is a central belief in Franklin s essay. A person must be motivated and
not idle if they want to achieve success. Franklin writes, Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man
healthy, wealthy and wise (Franklin 459). Through this quote, Franklin articulates that being
productive will help a person reach success. Besides individual industry, Franklin believes that another
way of achieving success is through frugality. Being wise with money is a key aspect in attaining
success. Franklin says, If you would know the value of money, go and try to borrow some, for, he that
goes a borrowing goes a sorrowing (Franklin 461). Someone who keeps borrowing money and is
unable to pay that money back is not responsible and frugal. Franklin also says, Beware of little
expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship (Franklin 460). One should be mindful of inexpensive
thing because eventually they will add up to cost more than large expenses. Therefore, a

How Marketing Can Be Defined As A Managerial And Social...
Marketing can be defined as a managerial and social process whereby groups and individuals obtain
what they need or desire through the creation of a product, offering it and exchanging the product of
value with others. Some of the marketing concepts include needs, wants, and demand; products; cost,
value, and satisfaction; transactions and exchanges; networks and relationships; markets; marketers
and prospects. A need is a state by which basic satisfaction is deprived. A need is usually a biological
concept that is not created by the marketer. Examples of needs are thirst, safety, shelter, food and
clothing. Wants, on the other hand, can be defined as the desire for a particular satisfaction of need
that is considered to be another level of need. An example of a want is when an individual is in need
of food; he would want the food to be prepared in a particular way and would want the food to be fish
or chicken. Demand, on the other hand, is a want of a particular product backed by the ability as well
as willingness to buy the product. A product can be defined as goods and services that bring forth the
satisfaction to human needs, wants and value. Cost satisfaction, on the other hand, is defined as the
consumer estimates and the capacity of the product to satisfy another need. For one to get the value of
something then there must be something that he is able to give up the opportunity cost. Different
products cost differently depending on the level of satisfaction perceived.

Function Of A Reflection On Social Media
In this reflection I will be talking about social media and the ways that I personally use social media in
order to analyze and have an understanding so that I can hopefully improve my social media
competence. The types of social media outlets I have are: Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and
Snapchat. I don t really post anything on Reddit, Facebook, and Snapchat but on Instagram I try to not
post photos with myself in it because I want my followers to see the world I see but the captions I put
are usually not really relative to the photo and usually meme sounding. On Twitter I mostly retweet
stuff that I think my friends would enjoy like articles or cool announcements and I make polls letting
them decided what I should do or where to travel next. Not much thought goes into deciding what I
post, I usually decide on the quality of the photo. If the quality of the photo is nice then usually the
picture is just as nice. What I try to show my followers is the cool places that I go to or all the neat
stuff that I do rather than everyday life like what I eat or how I look. I want to be seen the same way
people see me in real life so that they re not taken back at the fact that I may be different to have they
see me online. What my posts say about me is that I have different interests whether it s pictures from
art museums or of my gundam models. I also have photos from my recent trip to Japan so my posts
say that I like to travel. After taking the Narcissistic

Reading Response Four
Title: Brick Lane
Director: Sarah Gavron
Brick Lane is an insightful film directed by Sarah Gavron based on the novel by Monica Ali. Set in
21st century London, this film tells the story of Nazneen from Bangladesh whose life had been
decided for her from day one as she endures through arranged marriage, loan sharks and affairs, trying
to break free from her fated path. Gavron is also known for her work on This Little Life and Village at
the End of the World.
The character I found most interesting in the Ahmed family was Shana the eldest daughter. In contrast
to her little sister who is obedient and polite, teenage Shana is the cynic, refusing to do as she is

Right from the very beginning this theme is identified by a young Nazneen No one spoke of our
mother s death... and I remembered her saying: If Allah wanted us to ask questions, he would have
made us men. Here Nazneen points out that her whole life s potential, her right to freedom, to even
ask questions was determined by the 50/50 chance at being born male or female or as religion would
say, determined by god. Right from her birth, it was decided how she would live, where she would
live, and who she would live with through arranged marriage. At age 17 she would be married to a
man twice her age and live out the rest of her life in Brick Lane, London. During the first part of the
film we are introduced to a Nazneen who has accepted her fate. We must not run from our fate. What
cannot be changed must be borne. The test of life is to endure. However the rest of the film is about
challenging that mindset. We are introduced to Nazneen s polar opposite sister living a free life and
Nazneen fantasizing about her own freedom. But of course the most important choice of freedom is
the introduction of Karim, a handsome young man who visits Nazneen occasionally to collect clothing
to sell and eventually having an affair. Here Nazneen is presented with the ultimate choice of free will,
to follow her heart or what has been prescribed for her already. In the westernised society we live in

A Perfect Day For Bananafish Summary
A Perfect Day for Bananafish, a short story by J. D. Salinger, was written in 1948, a harsh time for
Americans; men were back in their homes, the women were able to see their husbands again, and the
VA s were full. Only, the war hadn t just ended. It had ended 3 years earlier. This was still too early for
many men returning from the war. These men still had such terrible, mostly untreated, PTSD, that the
VA hospitals released them before they were ready to return to the general population. This is what the
story addresses; this is what Salinger was trying to show to all Americans. This isn t just any story;
this is actually an anti war propaganda showing how PTS and PTSD negatively affect veterans, the
lack of support from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the misunderstanding of the
civilian population. It shows the terrible effect of war on both veterans and their loved ones. It shows
what happens when our government doesn t show appreciation to the defenders of our freedoms.

social status, power, or simply over wrong and right. Many people take it for ... Show more content on

After returning home, many veterans, even if they have not been diagnosed with PTSD, have
nightmares of the war. They may wake up screaming in the middle of the night, unable to go back to
sleep. This may go on for years if untreated; in some cases, it never goes away, yet they continue to
stay undiagnosed. In many cases, civilians will set off fireworks, often in celebration, that will trigger
certain memories or flashbacks of their time in combat. Some brave veterans may choose to complain
about the fireworks, but most people will ignore their requests to stop the fireworks simply because
the don t truly understand what veterans experience. This is the thing that upsets veterans the most; an

Billy Collins Poetry Analysis
My analysis is on introduction to poetry by Billy Collins. Collins relays the message that readers
should be patient and open minded when reading poems in order to see the meaning. Poetry is
something to experience by going inside of it. There is a heavy use of metaphors in this poem. The
first line, I ask them to take a poem and hold it up to the light like a color slide resembles that
sometimes you have to look at something in a different way or in a different light in order to see the
variations. Collins is asking the reader to look at the poem in a different way, not the way you would
typically read something. I also interpret the color slide as not just a brightly colored picture, but also
an image shown on a screen that makes you ask the questions what are they doing? Where are they?
And what s going on in the picture? By referencing an image on the slide it also references something
that holds image, and holds information that can appear dark or ... Show more content on

It makes the reader experience the sound or energy of the poem such as danger, anticipation, or
excitement. The part of the poem that says I say drop a mouse into a poem and watch him probe his
way out has great interpretation because sometimes it a poem you can get lost in all the different
meanings. Collins wants you to get inside of the poem and really explore it. This also gives a clear
image of a mouse in a maze working through our problem of how to get out. It s not a straight shot
from the beginning of a poem to the end, it is an intricate maze. When the poem reads or walk inside
the poem s room and feel the walls for a light switch is in reference to when you are in the dark about
what the meaning is and you want the light of understanding to be turned on. It s as if Collins is asking
us to find the place in the poems that makes the light bulb come

Marking Vs Urinating Research
The answer to that question is Yes! It is easy to mistake peeing outside the box with territorial
marking. But they have quite different meanings to your cat. Until you know the difference and can
determine whether your cat is urinating or marking, it will be all but impossible to get to the root of
the problem.
As you know, before any of us can solve a problem, we need to know what is causing the situation. A
key factor that many cat owners over look is that there s a difference between your cat urinating or
marking.
Both urinating and marking can create a suffocating ammonia smell inside your home. However, they
are quite different activities rooted in distinct motivations. Until you understand what your cat is

For the thousands of years cats lived outside and on their own, they survived by marking their
territories by spraying a pungent mixture of urine and chemicals from their anal glands. To the
discerning nose, the aroma of regular urine is distinct from marking spray. Granted, both are equally
unappealing when in the confines of your home, but I, for one, can tell the difference by smell alone.
A second way to tell whether our cats are urinating or spraying is to watch them in the act. Cats pee on
horizontal surfaces with their tails held parallel to the ground. Cats mark from a standing position, tail
held high and target vertical surfaces, like your kitchen cabinets or the back of your sofa. Wayward
urinaters may be saying, I m sick or I m upset. Marking cats have one message: This is mine! They
feel like their territory is threatened and are making a clear, albeit aromatic, statement.
Once you ve determined if your kitty is sick, upset or possessive, you can better formulate an effective
strategy to help your cat meet its needs so that you can, once again, live in an ammonia free breathing
zone. Check out some of my other articles to help you come up with the best strategy for your

Native People Oppression
The principal position of this paper will argue that oppression and discrimination were experienced by
native people globally in the 20th century. Nearly all native populations struggled with
industrialization during this time, with unfamiliar people impeding on their lands and cultures. As
expansion continued into native territories, outsiders brought with them new ideals of religion,
civilization, and advancement in their own communities. As new civilizations and countries engulfed
indigenous people, they became considered a threat by the new comers to the sanctity of their gods
and their societies. Governments often refused to recognize native populations, and instead tried to kill
them off or assimilate them. Conditions for American Indians at this time were harsh. Culturally,
indigenous people were discouraged and barred from practicing their religions and ceremonies, and
risked persecution if they did so. Because of this, traditions were often practiced in small, secluded
groups, and languages that had once been widely spoken were known only by elders and the most
devout natives.1 Sacred lands were stripped from the natives, and the government forced multiple
different tribes to share restricted amounts of land in reservations. 1 The interpersonal treatment of
natives by the white population was brutish and savage. Women would be raped by police officers,
and young girls were sent off to boarding schools to be Christianized. They were treated improperly

former director of the Center for Animals and Public Policy. Waldau is an author with experience in
studying animal law and the treatment of animals. He served as lecturer at the Harvard Law School,
regarding animal law, four times between 2002 2010. His book describes the many different issues
presented in animal testing and the animal rights movement and how these issues are regarded in
society. The General Information chapter discusses what is meant by animal rights and which animals
are included in the animal rights movement. The animal rights movement questions whether enforcing

Using Hammurabi s Code as an example, the author describes the relationship between humans and
animals as owner and property. As stated by Hammurabi s Code, domesticated animals were valuable
property and were subject to use by humans. Justinian s code is also referenced, allowing humans
access to any animal that is captured. These prehistoric codes have shaped the mindset of many,
leading humans to believe in a natural superiority over animals. This superiority has reduced the status
of animals from living, breathing, wildlife, to simple property. Per the Laws chapter, this superior
mindset is not a new concept.
This tendency to subordinate the natural world is not news to anyone today...this approach in legal
systems are matched by the long history of some powerful humans treating other, less powerful
humans as personal property that could be owned.

There once was a little girl who liked to take small risks. She never was an outgoing person but she

Welfare Is Not Solving Poverty
Ronald Reagan said, Welfare s purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own
existence. Welfare is not solving Poverty in America. Before I start this argument I need to assert that I
do not think that welfare is a matter of solving poverty anymore. I agree with Ban Ki Moon when he
says, True security is based on people s welfare. Welfare has become a way of keeping the
impoverished people from becoming desperate enough to commit crimes, but within this system, that
was originally meant to improve the poverty situation, there is evidence that it is causing more people
to fall below the poverty line and become dependent on it. I think the US government should consider
a welfare reform while thinking about what they really need welfare to accomplish. I think that a
welfare program is necessary and I think that a program to help people who are in poverty is needed,
but right now I do not think these two programs coincide as they are supposed to. Thus, welfare is
hindering impoverished people from ever getting above the poverty line, and the government needs to
reform the program. Over the past several years, Welfare reform has been a hot topic in politics in the
United States. A lot of research has been done on the effectiveness of welfare and most research states
that welfare is hindering rather than helping people get out of poverty. When talking about the role
played by anti poverty programs in America, David T. Ellwood and Lawrence H.

The Leadership Of Apple Ceo Tim Cook
Leadership is the capacity to develop a vision that motivates others to move with a passion towards a
common goal. Therefore, leadership is a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an
objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent (Democracy,
2014). Apple CEO Tim Cook will predictably be compared to his antecedent Steve Jobs, but in one
way, he s greatly more like Bill Gates he has encouraged philanthropy at Apple (Stone, 2014). Under
his leadership, Apple has become a much more socially aware company, working to enhance
conditions in foreign factories and planning to reduce pollution caused by data centers and the devices
themselves. In contrast to Tim s leadership, a successful legend spread out at Microsoft Company
where leader Bill Gates has many leadership qualities. One of the most important attributes is his
capability to analyze, interpret, and be competent. His methodical intelligence is mentioned in his
biography that corroborate of his abilities by scoring 1790 on an 1800 Harvard entrance exam (Stone,
2014). The excellent skills and mentality that Bill Gates has develop places him with to be one of the
most powerful transformational leaders who motivate the crowds of whom he shares his vision.

Is Treating Homosexuality Ethical and Effective
Homosexuality reorientation therapy is a controversial topic. Its effectiveness as well as the ethics
involved stir up much debate. Since homosexuality is not an illness, The American Psychological
Association reiterated the ‘long standing official position that homosexuality and bisexuality are not
mental disorders, (APA, 1998) (Slife, 2004), can it be treated? If it can, how, and under what
circumstances it should be used, are important questions.
Before discussing treatment, original orientation must be understood. Kinsey suggests that sexual

team sports or groups to develop their true feminine or masculine identity (Evans, 2003). If one can
embrace these identities, then it is believed that they will have healthy sexual lives and views.
Therapists and Psychologists who practice these therapies argue that clients who want to change
should not be told that they cannot; thus, it is not certain that they are settled on a fixed trait (Slife,
2004). Some patients who enter therapy with a wide range of unhappy constructions and attitudes
toward their sexuality, learn to redefine themselves and their sexuality, and thus enhance their
potential (Nicolosi, 2005).
Conversion therapy is a term used to designate an array of counseling techniques designed to effect a
shift in sexual preference (Throckmorton, 2005). Reports of patients seem to show positive results
from treatment, even if there is no change in sexual orientation (Slife, 2004). Those who request
conversion therapy often do so because of conflict between their homosexual feelings and the culture
surrounding them. Counselors who practice conversion therapy attempt to understand the cultural
background of clients who have deep conflicts over sexual impulses and deeply held moral
convictions. Counselors are required to inform clients of the purposes, goals, techniques, procedures,

Comparing Roman and Greek Art Essay example
Comparing Roman and Greek Art
Throughout history art has consistently reflected the cultural values and social structures of individual
civilizations. Ancient art serves as a useful tool to help historians decipher some important aspects of
ancient culture. From art we can determine the basic moral and philosophical beliefs of many ancient
societies. The differences in arts purpose in Greece and Rome, for example, show us the fundamental
differences in each culture s political and moral system. The primary objective of Greek art was to
explore the order of nature and to convey philosophical thought, while Roman art was used primarily
as a medium to project the authority and importance of the current ruler and the greatness of ... Show

The Protogeometric and Geometric periods are good examples of such advanced thinking. The
beginnings of the Protogeometric period display a distinct interest in mathematical order. During this
period, artists decorated vases with circles and symmetrical patterns. As the dominant style changed
from Protogeometric to Geometric, this order and precision was amplified. The popular ?circle and
semicircle patterns were replaced by linear designs, zigzags, triangles, diamonds, and meanders?
(Cunningham, 40). The increased interest in order seems to have been a reflection of the Greek
fascination with nature, and man?s relationship to nature.
This interest in the order of nature eventually evolved into a fascination with the human form and the
idea of human perfection. The way in which the perfect human form was portrayed by Greek artists
was of a highly intellectual nature. The early sculptors of the period explored basic human anatomy
and its aesthetic value, creating such sculptures as the Kritios Boy, of the Acropolis. The precision and
realism of this sculpture captured a more accurate portrayal of the human form than ever before seen.
This accomplishment in itself showed strong advancements in intellectual thought, and inspired future
generations to further explore aesthetic and order. Artist such as Polyclitius later envisioned human
perfection as a series of mathematical proportions. The

Human Looping Research Paper
II: Variant of the Looping Effects of Human Kinds
In the above I have introduced the concept of Hacking s looping effects of human kinds and defended
it against a couple of common criticisms. I will now modify the concept in order to make it useful for
the case in question. I will then show that this concept remains intelligible.
Namely, what I am proposing to do is to remove condition (iii) from Hacking s schema and replace it
with a similar concept. (iii) being:
[A designation which] we hope to have knowledge about, so we study them in the human and social
sciences.
My motivation for altering this condition for my use is that instead of the term used by the social

Queer was first used in reference to sexuality in the 1920s by homosexual men who rejected the
effeminacy connected with the term fairy (Brontsema, 2004). Over the course of the early to mid
twentieth century both the terms fairy and queer fell out of fashion with the male homosexual
community and gay became the most popular self ascription for homosexual men (Brontsema, 2004).
Around the mid to late twentieth century queer was primarily used as a derogatory term, levelled at
homosexual people in general (Brontsema, 2004). Towards the end of the 1980s some within the
LGBT community began to push for the reclamation of the word queer. One such group were Queer
Nation an offshoot of the group ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) (Brontsema, 2004). At
the 1990 New York Gay Pride the group handed out leaflets headed Queers Read This (QUEERS
READ THIS, 1990). In the pamphlet they addressed their use of the term queer saying every gay
person has his or her own take on it... for some it means eccentric...and for others queer conjures up
those awful memories . But what Queer Nation emphasise is that it should be the gay community who
get to decide what the word means; it s a weapon we can steal from the homophobe s hand and use it
against him . They also emphasise the fact that it is them who decides the meaning and the value
ascribed to it saying queer means leading a different sort of life ,

in introductions, and greetings. It is a good idea to have a local partner or translator to help westerners
navigate the complex social differences within the Indonesian population. Appropriate Greetings in
Relationship to the Different Cultures and Sexes The Chinese are more formal with their greetings and
introductions. These greetings are meant to show respect. Usually a handshake is appropriate,
however, take your time, a slight bow shows politeness. One might include the word Selamat pagi
which means Good Morning (Just Landed, n.d., p.1). But, one must remember to never use this
greeting after ten in the morning because after which is the afternoon. The proper term to say then
would be Selamat siang which means Good Day (Just Landed, n.d., p.1). When greeting someone of

The Quiet American Imperialism Essay
The Quiet American: Imperialism The Quiet American is a novel written by British writer Graham
Greene that was published in 1955. The story is set in Saigon near the end of the Indo China War and
it portrays a significant romantic triangle and its struggles between three main characters. The triangle
is formed by Thomas Fowler (British reporter), his Vietnamese girlfriend Phuong, and Alden Pyle who
is the suggested Quiet American as we know from the title. But we later find out that the American is
not so quiet after all. Once he arrives to Vietnam is when this triangle is formed and the tensions begin
to rise. Throughout this story I believe that Fowler and Pyle viewed Phuong (Vietnam) as an entity.

the situation amongst Pyle and Phuong. He doesn t want to take any sides and doesn t express any of
his opinions. This is a way of representing Great Britain and how they don t want to take control. They
have taken a different path than the American allies. This is represented by Fowler, on how he allows

Separate But Equal Doctrine
Brianna Ellis Mrs. Holt M/J Law Studies 8 October 2017 African Americans were granted full
citizenship, by the Fourteenth Amendment, in the year of 1868; segregation did not end until almost a
hundred years later, in 1964. The separate but equal doctrine allowed segregation as long as blacks
and whites had equal facilities. During the time of separate but equal many debated whether this
doctrine was constitutional or not. The monumental Supreme Court cases Plessy vs Ferguson and
Brown vs Board of Education shaped America s society by deciding the constitutionality of the
separate but equal doctrine. In the year of 1896, the Supreme Court case Plessy vs Ferguson shaped
America s society by concluding that the separate but equal doctrine was constitutional. This all began
when Homer Plessy, who was one eighth black, sat in the white designated train car. He was arrested
because he was in violation of the 1890 Separate Car Act, which declared that all rail companies must
implement separate but equal accommodations for white and black passengers. Plessy contended in
court that the Act infringed upon the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments. After two unsuccessful
attempts in lower courts, he took his case to the Supreme Court, which upheld the earlier rulings that
segregation is constitutional under the separate but equal doctrine. The Supreme Court decision for
Plessy vs Ferguson ruled in favor of Ferguson, 7 1. The majority found that the separate but equal
doctrine did not violate the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendment, while the minority found the
complete opposite. The majority identified the purpose of the Fourteenth Amendment as enforce[ing]
the absolute equality of the two races before the law, but then asserted that it could not have been

Children Who Commit Violent Crimes
For many years the question of whether or not children were capable of having the same mental
understanding as adults when it comes to crimes they commit. There are so many arguments from
both sides and whether or not children who commit violent crimes should be tried in a court of law as
adults. Personally, as a mother of two boys and pregnant with a third child I want to believe that if my
child does commit a crime under the age of adulthood that they would be given a chance to try and be
rehabilitated. I believe that children do not have the mental capacity to be housed in the same facility
as adults. They are not mature enough, they will come out with more problems, and lastly these are
children and we as adults are responsible for teaching them right from wrong so how can we ship
them off with adults the minute they do something wrong. I, therefore, believe that children who
commit violent crimes should not be tried as adults. The first juvenile court was established in
Chicago in 1899. The U.S. made this possible for two reasons. The first being that they believed that
children lacked the maturity level to take responsibility as adults. Second their character hadn t fully
developed so they believed that they ca be rehabilitated. The first state to impose a lower age for
juveniles to be tried as adults was Michigan in 1997. This gave them the choice of sending children to
adult court. For the next five years many states followed this example. As of now this issue

Sepsis Is A Poisoning Of The System By Disease Carrying...
Sepsis was known in the old days as blood Poisoning because it is A poisoning of the system by
disease carrying bacteria and their toxins absorbed into the bloodstream, as from festering wounds,
according to the World Book Encyclopedia Dictionary. 1 Because Sepsis is a severe and often fatal
disease and thought to cause 44,000 deaths a year, it is most important that it be recognized early and
treated aggressively with utmost and urgent care. If not treated early it can lead to shock and multiple
organ failure and even death. It kills more people than breast, bowel, and prostate cancer combined;
however, it can be treated successfully if detected early on. 2. Erin Dean Sepsis does not arise on its
own. It stems from another medical condition such as an infection in the lungs, urinary tract, skin,
abdomen (such as appendicitis) or other part of the body. Invasive medical procedures like the
insertion of a vascular catheter can introduce bacteria into the bloodstream and bring on the condition.
Many different types of microbes can cause sepsis, including bacteria, fungi and viruses, but bacteria
are the most common culprits. Severe cases often result from a body wide infection that spreads
through the bloodstream, but sepsis can also stem from a localized infection. All healthcare
professionals should treat suspected sepsis with the same urgency as a heart attack, according to the
National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. (NICE) 3. Patients who are at higher

happening and police brutality is an act that is happening all over the world, often being associated

the victim is White, which happens a lot too, just not as often per population but more often by

Statistical Functionalism And The Wi Thomas Theorem
Sociologists collect data in many different ways: by conducting surveys, secondary analysis,
participant observation, unobtrusive measures, experiments, and by looking at various documents
written by various sources at various times in the past. They can also find their data in movies. Movies
contain as much human behavioral data as newspapers do. Movies are made by and about people in
different social settings and tell us a lot about different and typical aspects of social life. One such
movie that sociologists can collect data from is The Proposal. This particular movie is a prime

Paradise Lost
Paradise Lost
Paradise Lost is a poem about Adam and Eve, how they were created and how they came to lose their
place in the Garden of Eden, which was also called Paradise. It is very similar to the book of Genesis
in the Bible, except it is expanded by John Milton into a very long, detailed, narrative poem with a
different view of Satan. Even though he leads a war against God, is sent to hell, and seeks revenge
throughout the poem h still ends up being a very likable character.
In Paradise Lost I think that Milton s character Satan may be considered one of the most complex
characters and is always changing. Of course at first he comes off as a very evil guy, who had a strong
thirst for vengeance and liked to wreak havoc. Even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Or at least that is what Satan wants the readers to believe!
Satan is proven to be a tricky and clever character in most stories that he is talked about in. Even in
the movie Devil s Advocate. The movie was good with a great amount of suspense, and kind of gives
a real outlook of the Satan and how he works. The movie is about Satan and sin. The point of the
movie and the poem was not to glorify sin but exposes it and all the devious things the devil would do
or has done. But it also shows the consequences of sin. Just like Paradise Lost The Devil s Advocate
shows Satan is filled with vanity, greed, and lust who is a great deceiver and knows how to twists
words and meanings. The movie is a modern re interpretation of the poem, I also think it is pretty cool
that the Devil in the film is name John Milton.
Overall I think in the poem Paradise Lost Satan s character was meant to be more attractive to the
readers so they would also be seduced by his ways. His character was meant to be more liked then he
usually is in things such as the Bible. He was not necessarily meant to be looked at as the hero, but he
was described in such a way that it tempted the readers to like him. Just like Satan lured people in and
made them do the wrong things Milton lured in his readers to like Satan. He did such a great job that I
felt sorry for Satan. But he also made us see everything from Satan view. Which basically

Prioritizing roofing system candidates
If you have the responsibility to plan and select an inventory of roofing areas to receive roof coatings,
the timing and priority of the installation is an important step. First you need information, to make
better informed decisions to identify the best roof section candidates and avoid an installation window
that could lower the coating service life or substantially increase the roof system preparation. All
buildings age and deteriorate. Its also common to have deferred maintenance, a flaw in roof design
and or original construction that has impacted the roofing system performance. No surprise that
known problems will also add risk factors to a roof coating installation. A best practice is to start with
a method to maintain good records for the as built roof system data, defect histories, leak calls and
maintenance histories will allow more consistent rating and ranking of roofing areas.

The Theories Of The And Evolution
Galileo saw worlds other than our own, Darwin explained the concept of growth and evolution, Freud
theorized explanations for our suppressed cognition, Archimedes ran out of a bathtub yelling Eureka
once he established the concept of density, and many other renowned scientists provided substantial
theories to explain common associations within everyday life. These brilliant researchers gave reason
to the term why . They provoked curiosity, established ideologies, and generated scientific laws that

human progression; to discover and uncover the explanations of reality. Once the diagnostic puzzles
have been given solutions, they can be used to benefit our race. We have enhanced research and

Firstly, picking up Ducati as its target company is quite opportunistic. From the traditional investment style s point of view, TPG is interested in those companies that had grown rapidly but still had the corporate structures of very small companies which caused great stress to the management of the business, and the assets of their target companies always being considered to be divided in order to improve the business riping for LBO. Peaceful Civil Disobedience Civil disobedience is a timeless practice that has been carried on from generation to generation, from Socrates refusal to execute Leon of Salamis to today s Syrian rebels fight for freedom. In many cases of injustice, the public will rise up to reclaim their human rights, and ever so often these fights are nonviolent in nature and educational to all the people who engage in it. However, even in acts of nonviolent demonstrations, both the demonstrator and the demonstrated can be hurt. So the question arises: does peaceful disobedience positively impact a free society? Or does such disobedience only contribute to the tension already apparent? The answer to this question, simply put, is that civil disobedience can positively impact a free society in more ways than one. Peaceful civil disobedience is one of the most important aspects that exemplifies a truly free society, for the ability of a group to protest against injustice is true human freedom. Peaceful demonstrations can also encourage better and stronger livelihood among people who are oppressed, since these actions can and will open the eyes of oppressors, and as a result such ... Her latest role as Kat Sandoval, a brilliant and a little quirky, political strategist turned avocado farmer is giving Mike B., a trusted advisor to the Secretary of State, a run for his money. Franklin s essay consists of proverbs and advice given throughout his yearly almanac titled Poor Richard s Almanack . Both texts discuss the idea of success and how one can attain it. Winthrop argues that success can be achieved through a sense of community; however, Franklin believes that success can be attained through individual industry and frugality. Franklin states, Sloth makes all things difficult, but industry all things easy, and that riseth late must trot all day, and shall scarce overtake his business at night, while laziness travels so slowly that poverty soon overtakes him (Franklin 458 459). Franklin believes that being lazy will not lead to success, it will only lead to poverty. Someone attains success though individual industry. This is a central belief in Franklin s essay. A person must be motivated and not idle if they want to achieve success. Franklin writes, Early to bed, and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise (Franklin 459). Through this quote, Franklin articulates that being productive will help a person reach success. Besides individual industry, Franklin believes that another way of achieving success is through frugality. Being wise with money is a key aspect in attaining success. Franklin says, If you would know the value of money, go and try to borrow some, for, he that goes a borrowing goes a sorrowing (Franklin 461). Someone who keeps borrowing money and is unable to pay that money back is not responsible and frugal. Franklin also says, Beware of little expenses; a small leak will sink a great ship (Franklin 460). Marketing can be defined as a managerial and social process whereby groups and individuals obtain what they need or desire through the creation of a product, offering it and exchanging the product of value with others. Some of the marketing concepts include needs, wants, and demand; products; cost, value, and satisfaction; transactions and exchanges; networks and relationships; markets; marketers and prospects. A need is a state by which basic satisfaction is deprived. A need is usually a biological concept that is not created by the marketer. Examples of needs are thirst, safety, shelter, food and clothing. Wants, on the other hand, can be defined as the desire for a particular satisfaction of need that is considered to be another level of need. An example of a want is when an individual is in need of food; he would want the food to be prepared in a particular way and would want the food to be fish or chicken. Demand, on the other hand, is a want of a particular product backed by the ability as well as willingness to buy the product. A product can be defined as goods and services that bring forth the satisfaction to human needs, wants and value. Cost satisfaction, on the other hand, is defined as the consumer estimates and the capacity of the product to satisfy another need. For one to get the value of something then there must be something that he is able to give up the opportunity cost. Different products cost differently depending on the level of satisfaction perceived. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Function Of A Reflection On Social Media In this reflection I will be talking about social media and the ways that I personally use social media in order to analyze and have an understanding so that I can hopefully improve my social media competence. The types of social media outlets I have are: Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. I don t really post anything on Reddit, Facebook, and Snapchat but on Instagram I try to not post photos with myself in it because I want my followers to see the world I see but the captions I put are usually not really relative to the photo and usually meme sounding. On Twitter I mostly retweet stuff that I think my friends would enjoy like articles or cool announcements and I make polls letting them decided what I should do or where to travel next. Not much thought goes into deciding what I post, I usually decide on the quality of the photo. If the quality of the photo is nice then usually the picture is just as nice. What I try to show my followers is the cool places that I go to or all the neat stuff that I do rather than everyday life like what I eat or how I look. I want to be seen the same way people see me in real life so that they re not taken back at the fact that I may be different to have they see me online. What my posts say about me is that I have different interests whether it s pictures from art museums or of my gundam models. • 11. Brick Lane By Sarah Gavron Essay Cato Refiti Reading Response Four Title: Brick Lane Director: Sarah Gavron Brick Lane is an insightful film directed by Sarah Gavron based on the novel by Monica Ali. Set in 21st century London, this film tells the story of Nazneen from Bangladesh whose life had been decided for her from day one as she endures through arranged marriage, loan sharks and affairs, trying to break free from her fated path. Gavron is also known for her work on This Little Life and Village at the End of the World. The character I found most interesting in the Ahmed family was Shana the eldest daughter. Right from the very beginning this theme is identified by a young Nazneen No one spoke of our mother s death... and I remembered her saying: If Allah wanted us to ask questions, he would have made us men. Here Nazneen points out that her whole life s potential, her right to freedom, to even ask questions was determined by the 50/50 chance at being born male or female or as religion would say, determined by god. Right from her birth, it was decided how she would live, where she would live, and who she would live with through arranged marriage. At age 17 she would be married to a man twice her age and live out the rest of her life in Brick Lane, London. During the first part of the film we are introduced to a Nazneen who has accepted her fate. We must not run from our fate. What cannot be changed must be borne. The test of life is to endure. However the rest of the film is about challenging that mindset. We are introduced to Nazneen s polar opposite sister living a free life and Nazneen fantasizing about her own freedom. But of course the most important choice of freedom is the introduction of Karim, a handsome young man who visits Nazneen occasionally to collect clothing to sell and eventually having an affair. Here Nazneen is presented with the ultimate choice of free will, to follow her heart or what has been prescribed for her already. In the westernised society we live in today I ... • 12. A Perfect Day For Bananafish Summary A Perfect Day for Bananafish, a short story by J. D. Salinger, was written in 1948, a harsh time for Americans; men were back in their homes, the women were able to see their husbands again, and the VA s were full. Only, the war hadn t just ended. It had ended 3 years earlier. This was still too early for many men returning from the war. These men still had such terrible, mostly untreated, PTSD, that the VA hospitals released them before they were ready to return to the general population. This is what the story addresses; this is what Salinger was trying to show to all Americans. This isn t just any story; this is actually an anti war propaganda showing how PTS and PTSD negatively affect veterans, the lack of support from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and the misunderstanding of the civilian population. It shows the terrible effect of war on both veterans and their loved ones. It shows what happens when our government doesn t show appreciation to the defenders of our freedoms. • 13. Billy Collins Poetry Analysis My analysis is on introduction to poetry by Billy Collins. Collins relays the message that readers should be patient and open minded when reading poems in order to see the meaning. Poetry is something to experience by going inside of it. There is a heavy use of metaphors in this poem. The first line, I ask them to take a poem and hold it up to the light like a color slide resembles that sometimes you have to look at something in a different way or in a different light in order to see the variations. Collins is asking the reader to look at the poem in a different way, not the way you would typically read something. I also interpret the color slide as not just a brightly colored picture, but also an image shown on a screen that makes you ask the questions what are they doing? Where are they? And what s going on in the picture? By referencing an image on the slide it also references something that holds image, and holds information that can appear dark or ... Collins wants you to get inside of the poem and really explore it. This also gives a clear image of a mouse in a maze working through our problem of how to get out. It s not a straight shot from the beginning of a poem to the end, it is an intricate maze. A second way to tell whether our cats are urinating or spraying is to watch them in the act. Cats pee on horizontal surfaces with their tails held parallel to the ground. Nearly all native populations struggled with industrialization during this time, with unfamiliar people impeding on their lands and cultures. As expansion continued into native territories, outsiders brought with them new ideals of religion, civilization, and advancement in their own communities. As new civilizations and countries engulfed indigenous people, they became considered a threat by the new comers to the sanctity of their gods and their societies. Governments often refused to recognize native populations, and instead tried to kill them off or assimilate them. Conditions for American Indians at this time were harsh. Culturally, indigenous people were discouraged and barred from practicing their religions and ceremonies, and risked persecution if they did so. Because of this, traditions were often practiced in small, secluded groups, and languages that had once been widely spoken were known only by elders and the most devout natives.1 Sacred lands were stripped from the natives, and the government forced multiple different tribes to share restricted amounts of land in reservations. 1 The interpersonal treatment of natives by the white population was brutish and savage. • 18. Welfare Is Not Solving Poverty Ronald Reagan said, Welfare s purpose should be to eliminate, as far as possible, the need for its own existence. Welfare is not solving Poverty in America. Before I start this argument I need to assert that I do not think that welfare is a matter of solving poverty anymore. I agree with Ban Ki Moon when he says, True security is based on people s welfare. Welfare has become a way of keeping the impoverished people from becoming desperate enough to commit crimes, but within this system, that was originally meant to improve the poverty situation, there is evidence that it is causing more people to fall below the poverty line and become dependent on it. I think the US government should consider a welfare reform while thinking about what they really need welfare to accomplish. I think that a welfare program is necessary and I think that a program to help people who are in poverty is needed, but right now I do not think these two programs coincide as they are supposed to. Thus, welfare is hindering impoverished people from ever getting above the poverty line, and the government needs to reform the program. Over the past several years, Welfare reform has been a hot topic in politics in the United States. A lot of research has been done on the effectiveness of welfare and most research states that welfare is hindering rather than helping people get out of poverty. Comparing Roman and Greek Art Essay example Comparing Roman and Greek Art Throughout history art has consistently reflected the cultural values and social structures of individual civilizations. Ancient art serves as a useful tool to help historians decipher some important aspects of ancient culture. From art we can determine the basic moral and philosophical beliefs of many ancient societies. The differences in arts purpose in Greece and Rome, for example, show us the fundamental differences in each culture s political and moral system. The primary objective of Greek art was to explore the order of nature and to convey philosophical thought, while Roman art was used primarily as a medium to project the authority and importance of the current ruler and the greatness of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Protogeometric and Geometric periods are good examples of such advanced thinking. The beginnings of the Protogeometric period display a distinct interest in mathematical order. During this period, artists decorated vases with circles and symmetrical patterns. As the dominant style changed from Protogeometric to Geometric, this order and precision was amplified. The popular ?circle and semicircle patterns were replaced by linear designs, zigzags, triangles, diamonds, and meanders? (Cunningham, 40). The increased interest in order seems to have been a reflection of the Greek fascination with nature, and man?s relationship to nature. This interest in the order of nature eventually evolved into a fascination with the human form and the idea of human perfection. The way in which the perfect human form was portrayed by Greek artists was of a highly intellectual nature. The early sculptors of the period explored basic human anatomy and its aesthetic value, creating such sculptures as the Kritios Boy, of the Acropolis. The precision and realism of this sculpture captured a more accurate portrayal of the human form than ever before seen. This accomplishment in itself showed strong advancements in intellectual thought, and inspired future generations to further explore aesthetic and order. • 28. Separate But Equal Doctrine Brianna Ellis Mrs. Holt M/J Law Studies 8 October 2017 African Americans were granted full citizenship, by the Fourteenth Amendment, in the year of 1868; segregation did not end until almost a hundred years later, in 1964. The separate but equal doctrine allowed segregation as long as blacks and whites had equal facilities. During the time of separate but equal many debated whether this doctrine was constitutional or not. The monumental Supreme Court cases Plessy vs Ferguson and Brown vs Board of Education shaped America s society by deciding the constitutionality of the separate but equal doctrine. In the year of 1896, the Supreme Court case Plessy vs Ferguson shaped America s society by concluding that the separate but equal doctrine was constitutional. This all began when Homer Plessy, who was one eighth black, sat in the white designated train car. He was arrested because he was in violation of the 1890 Separate Car Act, which declared that all rail companies must implement separate but equal accommodations for white and black passengers. Plessy contended in court that the Act infringed upon the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments. After two unsuccessful attempts in lower courts, he took his case to the Supreme Court, which upheld the earlier rulings that segregation is constitutional under the separate but equal doctrine. The Supreme Court decision for Plessy vs Ferguson ruled in favor of Ferguson, 7 1. The majority found that the separate but equal doctrine did not violate the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendment, while the minority found the complete opposite. • 29. Children Who Commit Violent Crimes For many years the question of whether or not children were capable of having the same mental understanding as adults when it comes to crimes they commit. There are so many arguments from both sides and whether or not children who commit violent crimes should be tried in a court of law as adults. Personally, as a mother of two boys and pregnant with a third child I want to believe that if my child does commit a crime under the age of adulthood that they would be given a chance to try and be rehabilitated. I believe that children do not have the mental capacity to be housed in the same facility as adults. They are not mature enough, they will come out with more problems, and lastly these are children and we as adults are responsible for teaching them right from wrong so how can we ship them off with adults the minute they do something wrong. I, therefore, believe that children who commit violent crimes should not be tried as adults. The first juvenile court was established in Chicago in 1899. The U.S. made this possible for two reasons. The first being that they believed that children lacked the maturity level to take responsibility as adults. Second their character hadn t fully developed so they believed that they ca be rehabilitated. The first state to impose a lower age for juveniles to be tried as adults was Michigan in 1997. This gave them the choice of sending children to adult court. For the next five years many states followed this example. As of now this issue ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Sepsis Is A Poisoning Of The System By Disease Carrying... Sepsis was known in the old days as blood Poisoning because it is A poisoning of the system by disease carrying bacteria and their toxins absorbed into the bloodstream, as from festering wounds, according to the World Book Encyclopedia Dictionary. 1 Because Sepsis is a severe and often fatal disease and thought to cause 44,000 deaths a year, it is most important that it be recognized early and treated aggressively with utmost and urgent care. If not treated early it can lead to shock and multiple organ failure and even death. It kills more people than breast, bowel, and prostate cancer combined; however, it can be treated successfully if detected early on. 2. Erin Dean Sepsis does not arise on its own. It stems from another medical condition such as an infection in the lungs, urinary tract, skin, abdomen (such as appendicitis) or other part of the body. Invasive medical procedures like the insertion of a vascular catheter can introduce bacteria into the bloodstream and bring on the condition. Many different types of microbes can cause sepsis, including bacteria, fungi and viruses, but bacteria are the most common culprits. Severe cases often result from a body wide infection that spreads through the bloodstream, but sepsis can also stem from a localized infection. All healthcare professionals should treat suspected sepsis with the same urgency as a heart attack, according to the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence. (NICE) 3. Police Brutality Report Police seemingly have the civic duty to protect and serve the tax paying Americans of the United States like most people who are given authority or supremacy over others; their privilege can be abused. The word Police is the civic force of a nation or local government, responsible for the prevention and detection of crime and the maintenance of public order Regrettably, the opposite is happening and police brutality is an act that is happening all over the world, often being associated with police misconduct. Hundreds of police brutality cases have gone to court or have gone unreported, so the question at hand is clearly simple how is police brutality detrimental to the American people as a whole; not just color. Firstly, before divulging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In my opinion I feel that people who only view police brutality as a race related issue are in fact a colorblind racist, it is both a race issue and an abuse of power issue which effects everyone. You should care about abuse issues regardless of the race of the person victimized. It isn t any better when the victim is White, which happens a lot too, just not as often per population but more often by number. Does that make all the White people abused in the system disappear because they are greater in number but less by census? Of course it does not. A person is a person. If another person of another racial group is suffering, you should help regardless of race. If you cannot do that, you are also a racist. • 32. Statistical Functionalism And The Wi Thomas Theorem Sociologists collect data in many different ways: by conducting surveys, secondary analysis, participant observation, unobtrusive measures, experiments, and by looking at various documents written by various sources at various times in the past. They can also find their data in movies. Movies contain as much human behavioral data as newspapers do. Movies are made by and about people in different social settings and tell us a lot about different and typical aspects of social life. One such movie that sociologists can collect data from is The Proposal. This particular movie is a prime example of structural functionalism and the WI Thomas ... To prepare for their next immigration meeting, Andrew and Margaret will spend the weekend getting to know things about each other that engaged couples would typically know. Margaret, not knowing how to function in Alaska, is at Andrew s mercy considering she has more at stake in their arrangement. Other issues soon arise, such as: Andrew s family developing a liking for Margaret, Andrew s old girlfriend showing up, and Andrew s constant arguing with his dad as to why he chose to move to New York to become an editor instead of taking over the family business. Over this chaotic weekend, Margaret and Andrew realize that they do love each other and decide to get married, for real this time. Structural Functionalism is the main sociological perspective in this movie. • 33. Paradise Lost Paradise Lost Paradise Lost is a poem about Adam and Eve, how they were created and how they came to lose their place in the Garden of Eden, which was also called Paradise. It is very similar to the book of Genesis in the Bible, except it is expanded by John Milton into a very long, detailed, narrative poem with a different view of Satan. Even though he leads a war against God, is sent to hell, and seeks revenge throughout the poem h still ends up being a very likable character. In Paradise Lost I think that Milton s character Satan may be considered one of the most complex characters and is always changing. Of course at first he comes off as a very evil guy, who had a strong thirst for vengeance and liked to wreak havoc. Even though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Or at least that is what Satan wants the readers to believe! Satan is proven to be a tricky and clever character in most stories that he is talked about in. Even in the movie Devil s Advocate. The movie was good with a great amount of suspense, and kind of gives a real outlook of the Satan and how he works. The movie is about Satan and sin. The point of the movie and the poem was not to glorify sin but exposes it and all the devious things the devil would do or has done. But it also shows the consequences of sin. Just like Paradise Lost The Devil s Advocate shows Satan is filled with vanity, greed, and lust who is a great deceiver and knows how to twists words and meanings. The movie is a modern re interpretation of the poem, I also think it is pretty cool that the Devil in the film is name John Milton. Overall I think in the poem Paradise Lost Satan s character was meant to be more attractive to the readers so they would also be seduced by his ways. His character was meant to be more liked then he usually is in things such as the Bible. He was not necessarily meant to be looked at as the hero, but he was described in such a way that it tempted the readers to like him. Just like Satan lured people in and made them do the wrong things Milton lured in his readers to like Satan. He did such a great job that I felt sorry for Satan. But he also made us see everything from Satan view. Which basically ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Theories Of The And Evolution Galileo saw worlds other than our own, Darwin explained the concept of growth and evolution, Freud theorized explanations for our suppressed cognition, Archimedes ran out of a bathtub yelling Eureka once he established the concept of density, and many other renowned scientists provided substantial theories to explain common associations within everyday life. These brilliant researchers gave reason to the term why . They provoked curiosity, established ideologies, and generated scientific laws that define logic. Evolution, adaptation, and development have been classified as natural instincts for human progression; to discover and uncover the explanations of reality. Once the diagnostic puzzles have been given solutions, they can be used to benefit our race. We have enhanced research and studies to allow these scientific outbreaks to lead to greater good. Physical Therapists have the same aspirations; to improve the quality of life and make developmental progress with our deteriorating bodies. As people get older or fall victim to injuries, their bodies become damaged. The body is like a machine; there are levers (joints), pumps (heart), plumbing (vasculature), wiring (nerves), and many other mechanical affiliations that make the body work as a whole. It is an elaborate product to produce work, so when an injury or abnormality occurs, it prevents the full magnitude of work to be exerted. For example, each joint within the body has an average range of motion, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
