What Is Long Term Growth In A City
Designing a layout for a brand new city being developed would have its difficulties but would all be
structured around its geographic location. Developing a city along the coastline would be extremely
different than developing a city in the mountains with reference to reducing traffic within the central
business district. Navigating a mountain range can potentially restrict routing options when
constructing a highway system, whereas being on the coast give you access to plenty of more public
transit options. I believe that long term growth in a city along the coastline has the opportunity to be
more prosperous and effective in reducing traffic in the central business district than a city in any
other geographic location. Most major cities have sport teams for baseball, basketball, football and
soccer and a majority of these teams play their games in an arena located within their given central
business district. These teams generate billions of dollars of revenue for not only their organization,
but the businesses that surround them as well. I believe these sport teams are essential for the long
term growth of the cities in the United States. The complexes for these teams will be located at the
north, south, east, and west side of the central business district. ... Show more content on

A major problem with traffic among large cities is that their central business district is located too
close to their airport or that the airport is in a location where there is only one major route to navigate
there. The perfect location for this airport would be a few miles away from the central business district
along the location where multiple highways along with the interstate intertwine; giving multiple entry
points to the airports entrance. These highways will lead to different locations around the city where
suburban areas are located giving the traveler multiple regions to easily navigate in the city upon

How Did Slavery Affect Early American Economy
The slavery was always a great part of early American economy but with the development of
capitalism the view on slavery had been changed. Between The Revolution and Civil War, during the
period known as market revolution , American economy has been swiftly transforming, and the
changes broke up the country into North and South. This division was determined by the different
approaches to the economic growth and labor organization. Northern economy has been converted
into new commercial economy with new wages paid labor organization. Southern economy remained
depended on slavery. The economy of North rapidly grew, and there was great demand for labor. The
growth of transportation, communication, network of roads, canals, and railroads, and new plants and
factories attracted not only new immigrants but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The growth in cotton and crops production did not cause the change in economic system, but caused
the increase in demand in slaves. Cotton boom required more production, and more production
required more labor that meant more slaves. The number of slaves increased from 700.000 in 1790 to
more than 1,5 million by 1820. For Southern states the idea of abolition was something incredible and
impossible. Southern planters saw slavery as the only way of labor organization for black people.
They believed that the slavery was the only conditions in which blacks could exist and that is why
they could not be freed they did not fit for freedom. Slaves were considered as property and therefore
could not be treated as free people. For Southern planters the violence, both physical and sexual, was
the norms of morality, they believed that as soon as slaves are property they could not have feelings
and emotions and all what blacks need was to be feed, dressed, and have shelter. Since Southern
planters gave this basics to slaves they thought that slaves should be happy and

Childhood In Twenty One Pilots And Lukas Graham
Aging is not just defined as a physical change in human bodies. Aging is also the process maturing
and emotional establishment created from experiences in life that ultimately develops a person s view
of the world. The world s view of a person also changes with aging, as the world expects differently
from an adult than it would from a child. Childhood is labeled as carefree, full of dreams, safe, and
loving, yet adulthood in seen as stressful, set in reality, hostile, and unsympathetic. The themes of
nostalgic feelings experienced throughout childhood can be observed in the songs Stressed Out by
Twenty One Pilots and 7 Years by Lukas Graham while presenting their unique style of tones and use
of symbols that perceive differing views of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both artists view the joyfulness and rewards of adulthood differently. Twenty one Pilots write about
the good old days (11) and how they wish we could turn back time (11) instead of acknowledging any
joys or rewards connected with being an adult. Twenty One Pilots are implying that joys and rewards
felt in adulthood are not comparable or can never supersede by the ones felt during childhood.
However, Lukas Graham writes Soon I ll be sixty years old, will I think the world is cold / Or will I
have a lot of children who can warm me? (41 42). Lukas Graham disagrees with Twenty One Pilots
view of looking towards the past as the only sense of euphoria by proposing that warmth and reward
can be achieved in adulthood with events like the arrival of Grandchildren. Although both artists use
symbols of time and age, they are used in very contrasting

Metals and Halogens Reactions
Metals and Halogens reactions
Elements such as fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine belong to Group 7, Halogens. At
room temperature, fluorine is a yellow gas, chlorine is a pale green gas, bromine is a red liquid, and
iodine is a purple solid. Astatine is a radioactive element, therefore it exists only in small amounts. All
the halogens exist in diatomic molecules. They have high ionization energies and are the most
electronegative elements. Their electron configuration ns2 np5 make them perfect elements in order to
react with Group 1 and 2 metals since they want an electron which Group 1 and 2 are willing to give.
Therefore, out of all the main group elements, Halogens react vigorously with Group 1 and Group 2
metals. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was the triiodide ion that is mostly responsible for the orange red brown color since iodide was
colourless and since iodine is not very soluble in water. As the reaction was progressing, the coloured
solution began to fade to orange, yellow and finally became colourless. As these colour changes occur,
the temperature of the solution was decreasing gradually until it has finally reached room temperature.
This change in colour was due to two factors. First, all of the solid and dissolved iodine had reacted
with the zinc to produce iodide and zinc ions, both of which are colourless substances. Secondly, the
red brown solution of triiodide ions also reacted with zinc metal to produce the colourless iodide ions.
In the other experiment three pieces of universal pH indicator were placed on a white spotting tile and
drop of chlorine water, bromine water and iodine water were transferred on each one of them. The
colour of the pH indicators were observed and recorded as shown in the table 1.The halogen solution
were filled into the dimples of the spotting tile. They were put in columns and rows which had
numbers (1, 2,3 and 4) and letters (A,B and C) in order to differentiate each solutions. After

Psychoanalytic Theory And Psychodynamic Theory
Psychoanalytic Theory
In this paper, I will discuss the theoretical perspective of psychoanalytic theory and discuss a few of
the theorist that helped to shape and expanded upon this theory. I will focus mainly on Sigmund
Freud, the founder of the psychodynamic approach and use his theory as the foundation to compare
other theorist perspectives. Psychoanalytic theory is based on the belief that the human mind often
represses threatening wishes or painful experiences. Repression is believed to place these painful
experiences and emotions into the unconscious mind until they resurface. I will discuss the tools that
therapists take to help their patients find insight into their repressed feeling and I will discuss the

For example, consider a newborn baby who is hungry and cries when it needs to be feed, or when it
needs to be changed. When a baby wants something, it will cry regardless of the situation and without
any consideration for others. This behavior is the result of the id and its desire to have its basic needs
meet.
As the individuals, basic needs are met and these needs become more of a want than a need, and
becomes more of a conscious thought than an unconscious one, the ego begins to form. The ego is the
rational, pragmatic part of our personality ( Freudian Psychoanalytic Theory of Personality Boundless
Open Textbook , 2016) and functions according to the reality principle. The reality principle is the
ability of the mind to be able to assess the realities of the world and act upon it in an appropriate way.
The ego acts as a mediator and will make compromises to keep the id happy; in a realistic way. The
ego has no concept of right or wrong; something is good simply if it achieves its end of satisfying
without causing harm to itself or to the id (McLeod, 1970).
As the ego struggles to keep the id happy and encounters obstacles, it keeps a record of those obstacles
and the objects that have assisted in obtaining its goals. This record of things to avoid and strategies to
take becomes the superego (Boeree, Sigmund Freud). The superego is believed to be the moral part

The Rise and Fall of George McClellan Essay
George B. McClellan is famous in history because of his involvement with the civil war. He was a
powerful general who was hired, and fired by Abraham Lincoln. George was born on December 3rd in
1826, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born the son of a prominent surgeon, and a caring
mother. He was also the grandson of the Revolutionary War General, Samuel McClellan. He married
the daughter of a powerful Pennsylvania family. They had 5 children, two girls and three boys. When
George McClellan attended the University of Pennsylvania at age 13 in 1840, he was studying law.
Two years later he changed direction, and decided to go into the military. He asked his father to write

He graduated from his class in 1846, only coming in second due to poor drawing skills. He was
commissioned as a Brevet Second Lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers. McClellan s first
military action was in the Mexican American war. He frequently complained that he was too late to
join in on the American victory. While in Mexico, he received many medals and awards for his
services as a brave engineer. He received much experience on the battlefield and it helped his military
performance. After the war, he performed peacetime service, training young cadets at West Point,
working on the construction of a fort, and surveying land for the Transcontinental Railroad. While
George was living in Ohio, he became quite popular. The Civil War had started and there was a need
for a powerful Union general. George was asked by Governors of his state and surrounding states to
become the general of volunteer Soldiers. The general in his home state of Ohio was the most
persuasive out of the three states that approached him. It was for Ohio that he agreed to serve. He won
some small battles near Ohio, which brought national attention upon him. The North had about
everything the South had, but bigger and better. Everything but one thing; Generals. The North was
lacking some good Generals to lead the war, and with all of George s success, Lincoln approached him
and asked him if he would like to be in the Civil War. Of

Advertising Is A Key Factor
Introduction to advertising
It is clear that advertising is not a new phenomenon, throughout its many forms advertising has not
only been around for decades but for centuries. Advertising however as we know it can be seen to
have been developed In the early 18th century, where by newspapers offered the ability to
communicate entire pages of advertisements to the mass market. Advertising nevertheless is no doubt
a powerful tool which adapts the way consumers perceive a product and if pulled off successfully can
be the biggest factor of success.
Approaches to advertising
Simon Broadbent believes that there are 456 theories about what advertising is and how it works
(Broadbent, 1992). However one of the most simple and effect definition of ... Show more content on

(Goddard. A 2002)
In concept, advertising is a mediator of choice, the most key aspect of advertising is that it makes the
consumer a directly active agent in the economic cycle. Today advertising has become a key aspect of
the marketing mix; it has two key mechanisms, information and persuasion. With the mix of these
two, the possibilities are endless (Miles, Hart 1993). Advertising works as a direct form of persuasion
and come in a variety of different platforms that effectively influence and affect consumer behaviour.
Although there is more than one theory when it comes to advertisement, most share a common
argument that expresses the importance that advertising brings to a business. Advertising becomes the
focal point and the direct link between businesses and there target market. Advertising does not only
account for the sales of a product but in fact becomes a main factor as to how a business is adapted by
consumers. THEORY OF HOW EVERYONE ADAPTS IT DIFFERNLY!
Advertising often requires a substantial amount of funding and this often comes from a large portion
of the operational budget of business. This therefore means that it is highly important to measure the
success of an advertising campaign however this process is not easy. Basu expresses that measuring
the success of an advertising campaign consist of finding out how often people are viewing a company

Black Males In America Often Suffer The Consequences Of
Black males in America often suffer the consequences of stereotypical judgment placed upon them.
Because of the conventional image given to black males, they immediately have to deal with the
repercussions of social inequality. In what some consider White America , white males have always
been thought to have white privilege. Black males have been abused for hundreds of years, dating way
back to slavery which began in the 1600 s.
In 1940, Richard Wright wrote a book that later became one of the greatest novels of American
Literature. The book focuses on a young black male who takes a terrible journey after killing a white
woman out of fear. Foster writes, Political writing that engages the realities of its world that thinks

Differences Between Federalist And Democratic Republicans
Political philosophies amongst Federalist and Democratic Republicans have been much conflicted
throughout the years. The Federalist who was led by Alexander Hamilton were seeking to increase the
power of the central government then there was the Republicans who were led by Thomas Jefferson
whom were seeking to decrease the power of the central government. The Federalists advocated the
importance of a strong central government to protect the republic from the imprudence of democracy
leading the country forward, while the Democratic Republicans promoted increasing the common man
s role in government. Although both political parties had good intentions for the future of the United
States, the Federalist Party was much more effective at uniting ... Show more content on

About 20 to 30 years prior they won their independence from Britain but the feeling of failure still
stood amongst the people. The Federalist Party were at large to destroy the threat of failure by
fortifying the United States central government. In Hamilton s mind, the outcome in strengthening the
central government would allow freedom of speech and self freedom thus uniting American citizens.
Hamilton had witnessed firsthand the political and economic confusion caused by states conflicting
interests and corrupt taxation policies under the Articles of Confederation. He saw that the Federalists
must take control of the political and economic decision making for the Union to still stand a chance
to survive. In order for the Federalist government to take control of conflicts before getting worse
jeopardizing the United states future they adopted the philosophy of loose construction which allowed
a flexible interpretation of the United States Constitution that granted the Federal government implied
powers , powers that were not specifically granted to them by the Constitution. Hamilton believed that
allowing the Federal government such freedoms was important to the well being of the country
because this allowed the government to act in whatever manner would best serve the country s
interests, even if the actions stretched the limits of power set in the Constitution or even at times
violated. Even though the Democratic Republicans opposed, Alexander Hamilton asked congress to
charter the Bank of the United States which would be jointly owned by private stock holders and the
National government. The Bank stored excess printed paper money that was valuable. This excess
money allowed cash to circulate to prompt American businesses by making loans to merchants,
handling government funds, and issuing bills of credit. The National Bank was largely beneficial to
the American people, and yet it was

it seasoning you must also have salt, onion, bay leaves, and oregano. In order to cook and mix all
these items you must have one 1 large pot, 2 small pots, and a blender. These are all the ingredients
that you will need to cook pozole. If you are not able to find all the items at your local grocery store,
feel free to go to a Mexican restaurant to purchase them. They might be able to sell you some of the

three hours until its tender. Be sure to add lots of salt to the meat, this will help tenderize the meat.
Peel and clean all the chiles (anchos and guaillo), make sure you remove all the seeds and the veins. If
you have sensitive eyes or skin, I would advise that you get some gloves and don t touch your eyes
(they are very hot and will dye your skin red and burn). Then take the chiles and pass them through a

Form Of Discourse
When attempting to convey an idea, one must choose a form of media to express that idea to his or her
audience. Depending on the message, some forms of media may be more expressive or accurate than
others; however, I argue that the synergetic use of language, symbolism, photography, cartoons, and
actions shown in film is the most expressive form of discourse. Furthermore, I argue for a new form of
media that would be even more expressive by allowing a creator to make multiple art forms and
communication styles that can be presented to the reader in a format that allows for the most idea
expression of any previous discourse style in the past. Since many creators goals are to express their
idea to the audience, it has been historically demonstrated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Imagine a book on a shelf that instead of filled with paper pages, it could be filled with paper thin 3 D
LED screens that change as the reader reads. This allows the author to show actions of characters in
still, moving, or 3 demensional images to describe exactly what the creator intends to convey. This
could also be synergized with the symbolism and written texts we have used for centuries to have a
movie like book that can play sounds and films for certain aspects, then flow into a comic strip, which
is described by a paragraph below. This intertwining of media will allow the most difficult to express
ideas to be conveyed to readers by allowing more freedom to the creator to escape the limitations of
only one form. The difference between this and the previous forms of media is that this form allows
for culmination of all other medias to be incorporated into a single object in reality; whereas, the other
forms only culminate the previous methods of discourse that came before it. This e book like form of
discourse will allow the most expression, and accuracy since to portray the idea of World War 2, an

Application For AAlternative Science Program
Good morning Ms. Credille and Ms. Brunelle,
Mark contacted me after the accommodation meeting yesterday afternoon stating that I had a
reasonable amount of time to get back in to see my Doctor to work out a remedy for my condition
with her before moving forward on relocating my classroom. As stated, I would rather resolve it
medically myself than compromise my ability to best serve my students academically. Furthermore,
the solution put forth would simply not be feasible in my current instructional environment, as I have
highly heterogeneous classes with students in different science courses and even different quarters of
the courses. In addition to my being able to implement the district s science performance task (lab)
assessment currently under development, my goal has been to develop self contained wet labs which
are readily available for students when they are at certain points in the curriculum. The items I only
just unpacked would not fit into one of our regular classrooms, and I am in the process of researching
purchase requisitions. Therefore, if I am to lead our alternative science program forward with the
implementation of NGSS practices, as well as content, I must have regular access to materials,
supplies, counter space and a sink in order to accomplish that, and I cannot be in two places at one
time. I ve included the district science TOSA s letter below for your records, and the photo of the
space I am referring to. As I stated in the meeting, it is

The St. James The Apostle Catholic Church
The St. James the Apostle Catholic Church in McDonough, Georgia was my second church visit. I
visited the Catholic Church on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the eleven o clock service. The church
is located on 1000 Decatur Rd. McDonough, GA 30253. I assumed that the Presbyterian Church was
very different from my community church but the St. James the Apostle Catholic Church experience
was no comparison to the Covenant Presbyterian Church whatsoever.
The first thing that I have noticed about the church is that there was unique artwork all over the
building. There were many men displayed on the front of the church building with different figure
types and wearing different clothes. The church artwork was very detailed and creative. It was a type
of artwork that I have never seen before. I also noticed a huge cross in the center of the church
building that had several figures of men surrounding the church. I had stared at the front of the
building for about five minutes before I finally walked into the church. As people were walking inside
the church, they were in formal attire. Both the men and women were well dressed for the sermon.
Once I walked inside the church, I happened to notice a huge fountain in the center of the isle. The
fountain contained holy water and several people were randomly dipping their finger in the water and
then do a sign of the cross on the chests. I assumed it was a tradition that Catholics did before
attending their seats. Rather than the church having

I was just swinging my bat, over and over again, with no thoughts in my head. The methodical
movement of my bat and the sound of the breeze it makes, was calming to me. My mind was blank as

lose the game. The championship game. I battled the little devil me on my left shoulder, who was

I stood at the plate long enough to see the smug looks on the outfielders faces wipe clean off, and

and kicking up mounds of dirt along the way, I make it to third base. While standing on the dusty old
bag, bent over and catching my breath, I feel an overwhelming amount of joy. I just stand and smile as
wide as the Chesire cat, while the fans and my teammates go crazy. My triple hit had drove in three
runs which, means we now have the lead. After my hit, my team was inspired. We played harder than
ever before, making some unbelievable plays while we were at it. At the end of the game, we came out
on top, winning the state championship. On the ride home, I felt a sense of relief and peace. I was
exhausted but felt like I was on Cloud 9, especially when I looked at the huge ring I had received.
Instead of giving my team a trophy, we each got a super bowl ring after our winning game. I call it my

The Moment Of Conception Of The Zombie
The Moment of Conception For an object to be considered monstrous, it must deviate from its natural
order. It is something unnatural. When a family is enjoying a nice walk in the park and a flesh eating
zombie suddenly approaches them, the zombie is considered monstrous, a monstrosity; a monster.
Zombies do not fit in the normative expectations for human beings. How and when these zombies
deviate from the expectations for humans is the great question. When does a zombie become a
zombie? The moment of conception for a zombie is when they lose their consciousness: the essence of
self. To the modern person, zombies are known as the flesh eating, gory looking corpse of a human
being that is searching the world for brains and bodies. This allusion of what a zombie is comes from
the recent decade s depiction of them in our culture. Movies Shaun of the Dead (2004), Zombieland
(2009), and popular television series The Walking Dead (2010 present) all portray zombies to be a
menace to society. They are aimlessly roaming the world in search of food, which coincidently
happens to be humans, and often killed by humans in fear of their safety. None of these depictions of
zombies tell us what a zombie actually is. A zombie can be defined in countless ways. The author
Robert Kirk looks at zombies in a philosophical manner, allowing us to view them in a way similar to
humans.
Philosophical zombies are exactly like us in all physical respects, right down to the tiniest details,

What Is George Berkeley s Argument Against The View Of...
George Berkeley is a philosopher against the views of materialism. He presents his argument against
materialism using dialogues between two characters. The first character is Philonous, who is meant to
represent George Berkeley and his viewpoints that humans see nothing more than ideas. The second
character is named Hylas. Hylas is meant to represent the views of a materialist. A materialist believes
everything has a foundation in matter, and therefore humans see objects as they are. In the first
dialogue between Philonous and Hylas, they discuss their understanding of the senses as related to
matter. More specifically, they are in a debate about whether the senses are a necessary part of matter.
Hylas believes matter is a substance that exists without someone needing to perceive it. Philonous
believes matter cannot exist without someone having some mental understanding of it, and in the
event that no physical being is present to perceive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In their discussion, Philonous states that an object cannot be two colors at once and therefore the color
seen is based the viewer s perception. Hylas replies by stating that under ideal conditions the object
will be seen as one color, because that is the object s true color. Hylas presents his objection to
Philonous point that an object cannot be two things at once by getting to the root of what causes
beings to see color. Hylas argues that light is a material that interacts with the mind to give a
perception of some color. More clearly, the mind can only perceive objects who possess qualities that
can be understood through the senses. Hylas is arguing that matter in itself has qualities that can be
seen in different ways depending on the person, however even if people have conflicting perceptions,
the object will always possess its quality. For example, in the case of the chair being seen as white or
yellow depending on the person, under a microscope the chair will always be one

Operational Strategies That Management May Use to Respond...
Operations refers to the transformation of raw materials(inputs) into finished products(outputs). The
operations process is one of the key business functions and is a crucial component to business success.
Like every business, Qantas is affected by many internal and external influences requiring it to have
effective strategies to respond to these influences. Businesses that are able to adopt and utilise
effective operational strategies are able to quickly adapt and either reduce or take advantage of these
influences that impact the business. The effectiveness of these strategies can measured by Qantas
performance and whether or not it is able to hold it s competitive advantage. How well these strategies

By outsourcing, Qantas is able to significantly reduce costs and maintain it s competitive advantage.
However this advantage also has a draw back, hundreds of engineers have also been cut from their
jobs and have had their jobs given to people overseas. This puts a bad reputation on the name of the
business as an Australian business will cut jobs from Australian workers and supple foreign workers
with jobs. Families and friends of these workers may feel resentment towards Qantas and choose to
travel with another airline instead resulting in a loss of customers. This strategy has been effective in
reducing cost but has resulted in a reduction of quality and safety and led to a decreased business
reputation resulting in a loss of customers and stakeholders.
Another strategy that Qantas has used to respond to globalisation is through product differentiation.
Qantas maintained it s competitive advantage by providing a service which was unique and different
to those of it s competitor. Qantas was known for having the best safety record of any airline in the
world . The airline was also true blue Australian and was Australian owned. This made the business
different and attracted customers towards Qantas giving it a competitive edge over it s foreign
competition. Following the deregulation of Qantas, the business has started to lose sight of what it
really was. The business has recently decided to implement another

Cognitive Dissonance In Friends
Cognitive dissonance means feeling tension when our thoughts and beliefs are inconsistent. An
example of this is when people smoke even though they are aware of the consequences that can occur
such as cancer which leads to cognitive dissonance. This occurs almost everyday in our lives, whether
we are aware of it or not. An one example that was shown on one of the episodes of Friends made us
aware of this happening. Friends is a sitcom which aired on television in 1994 and ended in 2004. It is
about six best friends, Chandler, Joey, and Ross, Monica, who is Ross s brother, Phoebe and Rachel
who are living in New York City. Though out the show we see that Monica falls in love with Chandler,
and Rachel falls in love with Ross. However, at the beginning of the show we see, Ross and Rachel
hook up which causes problems in their relationship. In the last season we see that Ross and Rachel
realize that they love each other so they get back together. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rachel decides to tell the news to Ross, but Ross is not taking the news well. Furthermore, we see
Ross is being awfully distressed in this situation and surprised by Rachel s pregnancy. Ross is
experiencing cognitive dissonance because he thinks that he and Rachel were being cautious and he
did not want to have a baby with Rachel as it was not planned and had not had a previous romantic
relationship with each other. Nevertheless the pregnancy occurred, she wound up pregnant which led
to the feeling of discomfort. Ross s discomfort and tension left him feeling uncomfortable that could
possibly effect his ego and self confidence and could make him feeling self conscious and because of
that he is feeling

I Am A Furitive From A Chain Gang Analysis
I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang Response Paper #8
I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang is a film directed by Mervyn LeRoy, from 1932. The film is about
a soldier, James Allen, who returns home from WWI with the aspiration to be an engineer.
Unfortunately, his family wanted him to return to his prewar job, working at a factory. James decides
to travel around the United States looking for a job and gets mixed up with the wrong person, which
lands him on a chain gang. Throughout the film, various metallic sounds can be heard. One example,
of metallic sounds in the film, is the pickaxe clanking as the calendar changes. A second example of
metallic sounds in the film is the triangular bell that the wardens of the chain gang use to wake up the
prisoners. A third example of metallic sounds in the film is the warden checking all the prisoner s
chains after the end of the workday. A fourth example of metallic sounds in the film is the clanking of
the pickaxe, while James is working for the Tri state engineering company in Chicago. Firstly, the
clanking of the pickaxe hitting the rocks is in sync with the calendar changing. Every clank coincides
with the calendar flipping to the next month. The calendar changing along with the clanking of the
pickaxe can be seen at least twice in the film. The first time it can be seen is after James talks to his
friend about escaping. His friend tells him that, he can plan an escape, but wait a year or two to act on
the plan. The second time the

Robby Real Estate Bubble Flipped Case Study
Has the NYC Real Estate Bubble Popped? Some of the largest cities in the world seem to have
experienced real estate market peaks. Has this phenomena hit The Big Apple? All indicators say yes .
According to Bloomberg, the vacancy rates in New York City were at 2.87%, up from 2.31% reported
last year. While you may not think that is that big of a deal, that 2.87% is the highest the vacancy rate
has been in the city since August of 2006. This increase indicates that tenants have reached the limit
on what they can pay. Not hard to see that when you take into consideration that in November, the
monthly rent for an apartment had climbed nearly 4% from the previous year. The cost of leasing is
even higher, it jumped up 18%. On the other hand,

In deciding who has power in the government, government officials are elected and many political
parties with different ideas are formed. The parliament in Italy is part of the legislative branch of the
government, in that branch they have a chamber of deputies and a senate with the chamber having 630
elected members and the senate having 315 elected members ( Italy Political Parties ). Besides for a
small period of time no political party has been able to command a large majority of parliament which
makes Italy have a long history of weak coalition governments ( Italy Political Parties ). One of these
parties is Partito Democratico which is a democratic party founded in 2007 and is home to the current
Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, this party is a merger of several other parties and is strongest in
northern central Italy and large cities ( Italian Political Parties ). Another major party is Forza Italia
launched in 1994 by former Prime Minister Silvo Berlusconi, this party is a liberal conservative party
who unfortunately for them, their leader Berlusconi has been convicted in tax fraud and has a part in
other scandals as well. Their platforms include traditional values as well as freedom and centrality of
the individual ( Italian Political Parties ). The Five Star Movement party which is a newer party
founded in 2009 by comedian, activist, and blogger Beppe Grillo is another political party in Italy. It is
seen as a populist party with anti systemic ideals, the members insist it s not a party but a movement
and their ideals include direct democracy, non violence, and degrowth. The term five star is a
reference to public water, sustainable transport, development, connectivity, and environmentalism (

Quito Tectonics
Ecuador s large number of earthquakes is due to their location relative to other countries. In general,
the grinding of tectonic plates happens constantly (one beneath the other) and sometimes they get
stuck but keep moving. This causes the buildup of tension. When the plates finally break free, it
results in an earthquake.
One example is the location of Ecuador s capital, Quito. Quito lies on a fault line. When these fault
lines are displaced it is similar to a domino effect and can create breaks in other parts of the tectonic
plates. Tectonic plates are gigantic, irregular in size and shape, chunks of rock that lie beneath earth s
surface. The movement of these plates and the buildup over time results in the earthquakes we hear
about. Also,

The novel Ender s Game is written by Orson Schott Card. It is about a young boy who is sent to battle
school. He meets friends and makes adversaries. In battle school, out in space, Ender, the young boy is
a genius and is taught many tactics to destroy their prime enemy the buggers. He excels in school and
battles his way into command school before the required age. There he is told he is battling buggers in

Another character that best show the theme life is a game is Bonzo. Bonzo is Ender s adversary. His
life was also a game because he is an enemy, he has the advantage and he dies. Bonzo hated Ender the
minute Ender stepped into Bonzo s platoon. Right then and there Bonzo became Ender s enemy. In
many combat games there is an enemy who is trying to make it more difficult. Bonzo who is an
enemy wanted Ender gone because Bonzo was jealous of Ender s winning streak. Bonzo hated him
and he was furious. On page 205, Crazy Tom questioned, That some of the older boys want to kill
you? This quote refers to Bonzo and other soldiers. They are Ender s enemy and they wanted to
annihilate him. Every enemy s goal is to destroy their victim and Bonzo tried with an advantage.
Advantage is also another reason why life is a game. While playing games somebody always has the
advantage. In this case Bonzo brought other soldiers to confront Ender. Page 207, bottom paragraph
describes how seven boys were watching Ender in the showers. This example demonstrates the
advantage that Bonzo has over Ender. Whether it is two against one or fighting soldiers without any
weapons. Advantage is a contributing factor in games and that portrays how Bonzo s life is a game.
With an advantage a person might think you are going to win, but Ender thought differently. Ender

New York City. One of the greatest states. And full of tourist! Whenever tourists come to New York
City, there is a checklist of place to see and visit. There is the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State

Broadway and Seventh Avenue, wasn t originally called Times Square. It was actually called Longacre
Square in the 19th century. It was named after London s carriage district (New York Times). Yes,

Weather And Extreme Weather
UNIT SUMMARY
Since the time of their early existence, humans have migrated to regions of the Earth that offer
climates favorable to their survival and have planned to persevere extreme weather events. In this unit,
students will observe models and analyze data to learn how the interplay between atmospheric
variables such as temperature, air pressure, and moisture leads to the typical and sometimes extreme
weather events that humans experience. Analyzing weather data to make predictions is a key part of
this unit and students understanding of how weather patterns can help us predict future weather
events. This unit aims at explaining how Earth s tilt, along with its changing position around the Sun
causes variation in the amount of incoming solar radiation (insolation) that reaches the surface. This
unequal distribution of energy causes variations in seasons we experience on Earth. Students also will
learn that climate is influenced by latitude, proximity to large bodies of water, ocean currents, among
other factors.

How Did Puck Grow In A Midsummer s Night Dream
Leaders have a responsibility to manage their power carefully. This idea can be seen in A Midsummer
s Night Dream by William Shakespeare. Oberon, the king of the fairies, wants the child that his wife
Titania adopts to become his henchman. He interferes in the lives of Hermia, Lysander, Helena, and
Demetrius while trying to get the child, which leads to the lovers puzzlement and chaos. Although
many people believe Puck causes the confusion in the woods, Oberon actually initiates the chaos
because he decides to get involved with the lovers and gives Puck vague directions.

After Oberon decides to apply the flower to Demetrius, he tells Puck, A sweet Athenian lady is in love

other, Puck follows the directions inaccurately. Oberon should have realized that multiple Athenian
men could travel through the woods simultaneously. Lysander wears Athenian clothes similar to
Demetrius , and Puck finds Lysander first. Then, when Oberon finds out Puck applied the flower to
Lysander, he gives the flower to Demetrius without removing the potion from Lysander. He tells Puck,
I ll charm [Demetrius ] eyes against [Helena] do appear. III.ii.101. Since Demetrius also falls in love

  • 4. What Is Long Term Growth In A City Designing a layout for a brand new city being developed would have its difficulties but would all be structured around its geographic location. Developing a city along the coastline would be extremely different than developing a city in the mountains with reference to reducing traffic within the central business district. Navigating a mountain range can potentially restrict routing options when constructing a highway system, whereas being on the coast give you access to plenty of more public transit options. I believe that long term growth in a city along the coastline has the opportunity to be more prosperous and effective in reducing traffic in the central business district than a city in any other geographic location. Most major cities have sport teams for baseball, basketball, football and soccer and a majority of these teams play their games in an arena located within their given central business district. These teams generate billions of dollars of revenue for not only their organization, but the businesses that surround them as well. I believe these sport teams are essential for the long term growth of the cities in the United States. The complexes for these teams will be located at the north, south, east, and west side of the central business district. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A major problem with traffic among large cities is that their central business district is located too close to their airport or that the airport is in a location where there is only one major route to navigate there. The perfect location for this airport would be a few miles away from the central business district along the location where multiple highways along with the interstate intertwine; giving multiple entry points to the airports entrance. These highways will lead to different locations around the city where suburban areas are located giving the traveler multiple regions to easily navigate in the city upon ... • 5. How Did Slavery Affect Early American Economy The slavery was always a great part of early American economy but with the development of capitalism the view on slavery had been changed. Between The Revolution and Civil War, during the period known as market revolution , American economy has been swiftly transforming, and the changes broke up the country into North and South. This division was determined by the different approaches to the economic growth and labor organization. Northern economy has been converted into new commercial economy with new wages paid labor organization. Southern economy remained depended on slavery. The economy of North rapidly grew, and there was great demand for labor. The growth in cotton and crops production did not cause the change in economic system, but caused the increase in demand in slaves. Cotton boom required more production, and more production required more labor that meant more slaves. The number of slaves increased from 700.000 in 1790 to more than 1,5 million by 1820. For Southern states the idea of abolition was something incredible and impossible. Southern planters saw slavery as the only way of labor organization for black people. They believed that the slavery was the only conditions in which blacks could exist and that is why they could not be freed they did not fit for freedom. Slaves were considered as property and therefore could not be treated as free people. For Southern planters the violence, both physical and sexual, was the norms of morality, they believed that as soon as slaves are property they could not have feelings and emotions and all what blacks need was to be feed, dressed, and have shelter. • 6. Childhood In Twenty One Pilots And Lukas Graham Aging is not just defined as a physical change in human bodies. Aging is also the process maturing and emotional establishment created from experiences in life that ultimately develops a person s view of the world. The world s view of a person also changes with aging, as the world expects differently from an adult than it would from a child. Childhood is labeled as carefree, full of dreams, safe, and loving, yet adulthood in seen as stressful, set in reality, hostile, and unsympathetic. At room temperature, fluorine is a yellow gas, chlorine is a pale green gas, bromine is a red liquid, and iodine is a purple solid. Astatine is a radioactive element, therefore it exists only in small amounts. All the halogens exist in diatomic molecules. They have high ionization energies and are the most electronegative elements. Their electron configuration ns2 np5 make them perfect elements in order to react with Group 1 and 2 metals since they want an electron which Group 1 and 2 are willing to give. It was the triiodide ion that is mostly responsible for the orange red brown color since iodide was colourless and since iodine is not very soluble in water. As the reaction was progressing, the coloured solution began to fade to orange, yellow and finally became colourless. As these colour changes occur, the temperature of the solution was decreasing gradually until it has finally reached room temperature. This change in colour was due to two factors. First, all of the solid and dissolved iodine had reacted with the zinc to produce iodide and zinc ions, both of which are colourless substances. Secondly, the red brown solution of triiodide ions also reacted with zinc metal to produce the colourless iodide ions. In the other experiment three pieces of universal pH indicator were placed on a white spotting tile and drop of chlorine water, bromine water and iodine water were transferred on each one of them. Psychoanalytic Theory And Psychodynamic Theory Psychoanalytic Theory In this paper, I will discuss the theoretical perspective of psychoanalytic theory and discuss a few of the theorist that helped to shape and expanded upon this theory. I will focus mainly on Sigmund Freud, the founder of the psychodynamic approach and use his theory as the foundation to compare other theorist perspectives. Psychoanalytic theory is based on the belief that the human mind often represses threatening wishes or painful experiences. Repression is believed to place these painful experiences and emotions into the unconscious mind until they resurface. When a baby wants something, it will cry regardless of the situation and without any consideration for others. This behavior is the result of the id and its desire to have its basic needs meet. As the individuals, basic needs are met and these needs become more of a want than a need, and becomes more of a conscious thought than an unconscious one, the ego begins to form. The ego is the rational, pragmatic part of our personality ( Freudian Psychoanalytic Theory of Personality Boundless Open Textbook , 2016) and functions according to the reality principle. The reality principle is the ability of the mind to be able to assess the realities of the world and act upon it in an appropriate way. The ego acts as a mediator and will make compromises to keep the id happy; in a realistic way. The ego has no concept of right or wrong; something is good simply if it achieves its end of satisfying without causing harm to itself or to the id (McLeod, 1970). As the ego struggles to keep the id happy and encounters obstacles, it keeps a record of those obstacles and the objects that have assisted in obtaining its goals. Advertising works as a direct form of persuasion and come in a variety of different platforms that effectively influence and affect consumer behaviour. The Federalist who was led by Alexander Hamilton were seeking to increase the power of the central government then there was the Republicans who were led by Thomas Jefferson whom were seeking to decrease the power of the central government. The Federalists advocated the importance of a strong central government to protect the republic from the imprudence of democracy leading the country forward, while the Democratic Republicans promoted increasing the common man s role in government. About 20 to 30 years prior they won their independence from Britain but the feeling of failure still stood amongst the people. The Federalist Party were at large to destroy the threat of failure by fortifying the United States central government. In Hamilton s mind, the outcome in strengthening the central government would allow freedom of speech and self freedom thus uniting American citizens. Hamilton had witnessed firsthand the political and economic confusion caused by states conflicting interests and corrupt taxation policies under the Articles of Confederation. He saw that the Federalists must take control of the political and economic decision making for the Union to still stand a chance to survive. In order for the Federalist government to take control of conflicts before getting worse jeopardizing the United states future they adopted the philosophy of loose construction which allowed a flexible interpretation of the United States Constitution that granted the Federal government implied powers , powers that were not specifically granted to them by the Constitution. Hamilton believed that allowing the Federal government such freedoms was important to the well being of the country because this allowed the government to act in whatever manner would best serve the country s interests, even if the actions stretched the limits of power set in the Constitution or even at times violated. Even though the Democratic Republicans opposed, Alexander Hamilton asked congress to charter the Bank of the United States which would be jointly owned by private stock holders and the National government. Depending on the message, some forms of media may be more expressive or accurate than others; however, I argue that the synergetic use of language, symbolism, photography, cartoons, and actions shown in film is the most expressive form of discourse. Furthermore, I argue for a new form of media that would be even more expressive by allowing a creator to make multiple art forms and communication styles that can be presented to the reader in a format that allows for the most idea expression of any previous discourse style in the past. Since many creators goals are to express their idea to the audience, it has been historically demonstrated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This could also be synergized with the symbolism and written texts we have used for centuries to have a movie like book that can play sounds and films for certain aspects, then flow into a comic strip, which is described by a paragraph below. This intertwining of media will allow the most difficult to express ideas to be conveyed to readers by allowing more freedom to the creator to escape the limitations of only one form. Application For AAlternative Science Program Good morning Ms. Credille and Ms. Brunelle, Mark contacted me after the accommodation meeting yesterday afternoon stating that I had a reasonable amount of time to get back in to see my Doctor to work out a remedy for my condition with her before moving forward on relocating my classroom. As stated, I would rather resolve it medically myself than compromise my ability to best serve my students academically. Furthermore, the solution put forth would simply not be feasible in my current instructional environment, as I have highly heterogeneous classes with students in different science courses and even different quarters of the courses. In addition to my being able to implement the district s science performance task (lab) assessment currently under development, my goal has been to develop self contained wet labs which are readily available for students when they are at certain points in the curriculum. I assumed that the Presbyterian Church was very different from my community church but the St. James the Apostle Catholic Church experience was no comparison to the Covenant Presbyterian Church whatsoever. The first thing that I have noticed about the church is that there was unique artwork all over the building. There were many men displayed on the front of the church building with different figure types and wearing different clothes. The church artwork was very detailed and creative. It was a type of artwork that I have never seen before. I also noticed a huge cross in the center of the church building that had several figures of men surrounding the church. I had stared at the front of the building for about five minutes before I finally walked into the church. As people were walking inside the church, they were in formal attire. Both the men and women were well dressed for the sermon. Once I walked inside the church, I happened to notice a huge fountain in the center of the isle. The methodical movement of my bat and the sound of the breeze it makes, was calming to me. My mind was blank as I was just going through my on deck routine. But like always, a few thoughts slipped in. You are going to strike out again, for the third time, my mind told me, You are going to let the whole team down, and lose the game. The championship game. I battled the little devil me on my left shoulder, who was feeding my brain these awful thoughts, by repeating an encouraging phrase. You got this Ashley, you got this Ashley. Running faster than the speed of light and kicking up mounds of dirt along the way, I make it to third base. While standing on the dusty old bag, bent over and catching my breath, I feel an overwhelming amount of joy. I just stand and smile as wide as the Chesire cat, while the fans and my teammates go crazy. My triple hit had drove in three runs which, means we now have the lead. After my hit, my team was inspired. We played harder than ever before, making some unbelievable plays while we were at it. At the end of the game, we came out on top, winning the state championship. On the ride home, I felt a sense of relief and peace. I was exhausted but felt like I was on Cloud 9, especially when I looked at the huge ring I had received. Instead of giving my team a trophy, we each got a super bowl ring after our winning game. I call it my super bowl ring because it in fact looks like an exact copy of the rings the winning football team earn. • 19. The Moment Of Conception Of The Zombie The Moment of Conception For an object to be considered monstrous, it must deviate from its natural order. It is something unnatural. When a family is enjoying a nice walk in the park and a flesh eating zombie suddenly approaches them, the zombie is considered monstrous, a monstrosity; a monster. Zombies do not fit in the normative expectations for human beings. How and when these zombies deviate from the expectations for humans is the great question. When does a zombie become a zombie? The moment of conception for a zombie is when they lose their consciousness: the essence of self. To the modern person, zombies are known as the flesh eating, gory looking corpse of a human being that is searching the world for brains and bodies. This allusion of what a zombie is comes from the recent decade s depiction of them in our culture. Movies Shaun of the Dead (2004), Zombieland (2009), and popular television series The Walking Dead (2010 present) all portray zombies to be a menace to society. They are aimlessly roaming the world in search of food, which coincidently happens to be humans, and often killed by humans in fear of their safety. None of these depictions of zombies tell us what a zombie actually is. A zombie can be defined in countless ways. The author Robert Kirk looks at zombies in a philosophical manner, allowing us to view them in a way similar to humans. Philosophical zombies are exactly like us in all physical respects, right down to the tiniest details, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He presents his argument against materialism using dialogues between two characters. The first character is Philonous, who is meant to represent George Berkeley and his viewpoints that humans see nothing more than ideas. The second character is named Hylas. Hylas is meant to represent the views of a materialist. A materialist believes everything has a foundation in matter, and therefore humans see objects as they are. In the first dialogue between Philonous and Hylas, they discuss their understanding of the senses as related to matter. More specifically, they are in a debate about whether the senses are a necessary part of matter. Hylas believes matter is a substance that exists without someone needing to perceive it. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In their discussion, Philonous states that an object cannot be two colors at once and therefore the color seen is based the viewer s perception. Hylas replies by stating that under ideal conditions the object will be seen as one color, because that is the object s true color. Hylas presents his objection to Philonous point that an object cannot be two things at once by getting to the root of what causes beings to see color. Hylas argues that light is a material that interacts with the mind to give a perception of some color. More clearly, the mind can only perceive objects who possess qualities that can be understood through the senses. Hylas is arguing that matter in itself has qualities that can be seen in different ways depending on the person, however even if people have conflicting perceptions, the object will always possess its quality. For example, in the case of the chair being seen as white or yellow depending on the person, under a microscope the chair will always be one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This strategy has been effective in reducing cost but has resulted in a reduction of quality and safety and led to a decreased business reputation resulting in a loss of customers and stakeholders.
