Roka Akora
Roka Akora
When it comes to sushi, nothing can beat the Roka Akora sushi restaurant. Located in the heart of
phoenix most luxurious neighborhood, Scottsdale. Roka Akora Offers a wild variety of sushi, Maki,
aged steaks and daily sushi specials, with its five star service and exquisite taste the resultant stands
out among its competitors.
Roka Akora has received many awards recognizing various aspects of the restaurant, sush as one of
the best 10 steak houses in Arizona by Thrillist , one of the best steak houses in all 50 states by
business insider and foursquare and one of the top 10 sushi spots in all 50 states by bon Appetit.
Neither the Exterior nor the interior of the restaurant (dose) indicates that the restaurant is Japanese.
From the outside it looks more Mexican than Japanese. From the inside I could feel the japanese
atmosphere, maybe because of all the Saki bottles.Nonetheless, nothing special in the design, It also
offers an indoor and an outdoor setting. My friend and I decided to sit inside,
when we looked at the menu, we were surprised by the variety of sushi that they had. They also have a
daily sushi specials menu, which you need to ask your waitress about. Due to the long sushi list and

noticed that on the sink there were towels and disposable paper towels. Using a towel is better for the

the towels would be professionally cleaned after their first use. The cleanliness of the floor and sink

Structure And Operation Of An Enterprise Architecture
Section 1: Summary
Enterprise Architecture represents a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure and operation of an
organization. The intent of an enterprise architecture is to decide how an organization can most
effectively achieve its current and future goals. Enterprise architecture looks at the current state of the
organization, it helps develop and evaluate current designs and create a sketch for the future.
As business analysts, enterprise architecture represents an input to understand the organizational units
that exist, their interaction with other organizational units, customers and suppliers, their
responsibilities within the organization and the roles and relationships within each organizational unit
[01]. It helps conduct stakeholder analysis, as it helps understand stakeholder influence and attitudes.
In this research paper, we will analyze look at the context of enterprise architecture, the history of
enterprise architecture, and we will look at two popular enterprise architectures, the Zachman
framework and TOGAF.
Section 2: Context and History
Context:
Enterprise Architecture was created and aimed to solve two major problems prevalent in
organizations.
System Complexity Organizations were becoming larger and larger and IT costs were spiraling out of
control
Poor business alignment Organizations were finding it more and more difficult to keep IT systems
aligned with business needs
Organizations are faced with issues of exponentially increasing

How Congress Constructs Its Acts
In order to advance the acumen of how Congress constructs its acts from inception to enactment, there
are various methodologies one can use. With that in mind, this exploration aligns to the Analytical
Framework methodology as described in our class textbook, The Struggle for Democracy by authors
Edward Greenberg and Benjamin Page. Thus, the congressional act I ve chosen to examine is the
Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 as it s of immense importance to all Americans. Specifically,
this act addresses the fundamental need of our nation s workforce as it relates to work/life balance;
therefore, by providing the context of the reasons why such a law emerged, identifying the
collaborating actors in the creation and implementation of the law, articulating the process of
enactments, as well as outlining out its path to enactment using the Analytical Framework, this
exploration will increase its reader s competency of knowledge about what transpired in passing the
Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Likewise, the organization of this examination comprises of
four main sections correlating with the horizontal segments (levels) of the Analytical Framework. To
begin, the first section interprets the foundation of the FMLA by providing the historical background,
the economic and social environment of the American workforce prior to the FMLA, along with
previous legislation attempts and information on various legislative acts which are in similar
alignment with the FMLA:

The Enron Implosion and the Loss of Respect for the Accounting Profession
On the surface, the motives behind decisions and events leading to Enron s downfall appear simple
enough: individual and collective greed born in an atmosphere of market euphoria and corporate
arrogance. Hardly anyone the company, its employees, analysts or individual investors wanted to
believe the company was too good to be true. So, for a while, hardly anyone did. Many kept on buying
the stock, the corporate mantra and the dream. In the meantime, the company made many high risk
deals, some of which were outside the company s typical asset risk control process. Many went sour in
the early months of 2001 as Enron s stock price and debt rating imploded because of ... Show more

Under Skilling s leadership, Enron Finance Corp. soon dominated the market for natural gas contracts,
with more contacts, more access to supplies and more customers than any of its competitors. With its
market power, Enron could predict future prices with great accuracy, guaranteeing superior profits.
Skilling began to change the corporate culture of Enron to match the company s transformed image as
a trading business. He set out on a quest to hire the best and brightest traders, recruiting associates
from the top MBA schools in the country and competing with the largest and most prestigious
investment banks for talent. In exchange for grueling schedules, Enron pampered its associates with a
long list of corporate perks, including concierge services and a company gym. Skilling rewarded
production with merit based bonuses that had no cap, permitting traders to eat what they killed.
One of Skilling s earliest hires in 1990 was Andrew Fastow, a 29 year old Kellogg MBA who had
been working on leveraged buyouts and other complicated deals at Continental Illinois Bank in
Chicago. Fastow became Skilling s protege in the same way Skilling had become Lay s. Fastow
moved swiftly through the ranks and was promoted to chief financial officer in 1998. As Skilling
oversaw the building of the company s vast trading operation, Fastow oversaw its financing.
As Enron s reputation with the outside world grew, the internal culture apparently began to take a

The Methodology Of Islamic Economics And Positive Economics
Introduction
Methodology of economics has been an essential part in constructing the fundamental economic
theories and hypotheses. It has been a subject of research by economists and become their interest in
answering empirical problems of human beings. It becomes a main framework of positivists in
developing their thought on economic system. The methodology also utilized in developing Islamic
economic to build self and distinct system than the existing conventional economic due to several
differentiations of its worldview and primary sources. The differences in sources and characteristics
between two disciplines lead to a different methodological framework.
This study will attempt to discuss the distinction between the methodology of Islamic economics and
positive economics. The study will start from defining each system, followed by comparing the
similarity of the methodology, and finally contrasting of both methods.
The Definitions
There are two descriptions of definition from each system. Siddiqi (1992) notes in Chapra (2000) that
the definition of Islamic economics is The Muslim thinkers response to the economic challenges of
their times. In this endeavor, they were aided by the Quran and the Sunnah as well as by reason and
experience. The definition of economic as a positive science as revealed by Friedman (1966) that it is
a body of tentatively accepted generalizations about economic phenomena that can be used to predict
the consequences of changes in

The US pays twice as much yet lags other wealthy nations in such measures as infant mortality and
life expectancy, which are among the most widely collected, hence easily compared, international
statistics. Many people are underinsured, for example, in Colorado of those with insurance for a full
year, 36.3% were underinsured. [6][7] About 10.7 million insured Americans spend more than a

Oedipus Essay

Question
1 Question
1.)
One of the responses people usually have about
Oedipus
is if he really deserved the fate that he ended up with.
It s
not his fault that
Jocasta
and Laius tried to outsmart fate and dispose of him. In trying to run from this prophecy, did he really
do anything any other person, given the culture, wouldn t have done? Is Oedipus a victim of fate or is
he responsible for the choices he makes?
What
does
Sophocles
suggest?
What
do you think?

There are definitely two arguments on whether or not
Oedipus
had fallen to fate or made his own decisions, but if you think about it, the prophecy stated literally
everything that was going to happen, and maybe it would not had happened if Oedipus did not seek
out everything because the prophecy only unfolded when he began to venture out and look for the
problem trying to solve his own problems. Him doing this unraveled something much worse and is
what led him to his banishment, so if you think about it, maybe fate did bring him to this terrible
ending, but how can we be for sure because he did make these decisions himself.
Jocasta
and
Laius
were the two to blame for believing in such a thing and leaving their child to die a terrible death, only
to come back and have the prophecy happen anyways. King
Laius
sought out the prophecy and found out that their son
(if
they had one), would eventually kill him.
He
did not want this so he gave up his son for adoption. Oedipus got into an altercation and ended up
killing his birth father even after he sought out the prophecy as well only to find out that he would still
end up killing his father.

The Perception Of Good And Evil In John Milton s Paradise...
Since the ancient times up today, the perception of good and evil has always existed. As an example,
in the Christian Bible, evil is represented by the figure of Satan who before transforming himself into
a demon, he was one of the most confidant and influence angels in heaven. However, due to the fact of
his ambitious to become more powerful than the same Creator, God sent him to earth. As a matter of
fact, in the bible Satan is portrayed as the cost of temptation and the promoter of mankind`s
disobedience toward God. For this reason, people have stereotyped the image of Satan as selfish, evil,
and numb and loser. Nevertheless, John Milton in his book, Paradise Lost (Book 1), has transformed
the image of Satan, and personified him as an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

only divinity who can show true love is God who cares about individuals and protects them.
Moreover, the Creator is the only one that can be clement and give internal peace to his creation. On
the other hand, Milton in Paradise Lost personifies Satan as a guy who does care about others. For
example, in lines 267 68 and 270, he worries about the suffering that the demons were going through
in hell. Furthermore, he calls up these souls, and gives them hope, promise and peace that God takes
away from them. Consequently, Satan does matters about the living conditions of other

Your brothers and sisters are dead! As Dia and the other boys were rushed through the camp, the

Without realising it Dia fell to his knees at the sight of the dead bodies everywhere, the gunshots
echoing in the background. So consumed in the terror of it all he didn t even feel the sharp pain of his
knees hitting the ground. He was too scared of what his future held to even move. Suddenly he felt

Car Seat Installation: Making Safety a Priority

Car Seat Installation: Making Safety a Priority
A.) Every year thousands of children are injured or even killed due to a car not being properly
installed or not following the guidelines to ensure safety. In all the excitement of getting the car seat at
baby showers, picking up the color and style the family wants, sometimes safety is easily forgotten.
Families do not realize it can be challenging to put a car seat in their vehicle. Even before a seat is
bought, it is crucial for the parents to research what seat is best and what one has high safety
standards. It is important to know how the car seat was scored in safety rating tests.
The family I personally taught had the base of car seat installed correctly, they had verbalized how it
fit in the vehicle and understood the baby needed to be in rear facing car seat. However in the actual
car seat baby was not fit snuggly in the car seat. The chest straps were not at armpit height, instead
resting on the stomach. They had added extra blankets around the baby and baby was wearing a heavy
sweater to leave hospital. All ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

NFL rules stipulate that footballs must be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch and
weigh between 14 and 15 ounces.
Former NFL official Jim Daopoulos, in an interview with ESPN on Monday morning, explained the
process in which footballs are managed. Two hours and 15 minutes before each game, officials inspect
12 footballs from each team and put a mark on them to indicate they meet the proper requirements and
are good for usage. Then those footballs are given to the ball attendant.
There also is a second set of six footballs, used specifically for the kicking game, that are marked
appropriately and remain in the possession of officials at all times.
Officials check balls as they go into the game, and if the ball doesn t feel perfect, they can throw it out,
Daopoulos said. There is always the possibility that balls can lose air due to the conditions.
A team can be fined if it is found to be knowingly altering the weight of the football.
The NFL s game operations manual states: Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including
players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs in any way. If
any individual alters the footballs, or if a non approved ball is used in the game, the person responsible
and, if appropriate, the head coach or other club personnel will be subject to discipline, including but
not limited to, a fine of $25,000.

Hunter Thompson Gonzo Journalism
The excess use of guns, booze, and too many drugs to count easily summarizes the life and writing of
Hunter S. Thompson. The American culture of the 1960s began to alter with the hippie generation, and
the same old drab writing was not fulfilling the desires of the American reader. During the 1970s,
American literature and journalism transformed in a way that no one would have ever been able to
predict. Thompson found a way to turn the tables, and effected generations to come in a new dynamic
writing style that many authors and journalist nowadays adopt. The life and writing of Hunter S.
Thompson had great influence on the creation of gonzo journalism, politics, and American culture.
Even after forty years, Hunter S. Thompson s creation of gonzo journalism became a fashionable style
of writing that remains impersonated. Gonzo journalism has numerous different characteristics; one of
the most predominant is writing as a triple agent. To write in this style one becomes the biographical
author and a narrator at the same time. In a journal from Olga Fayzullina she describes gonzo
journalism as, The author s position is always dual, on the one hand, he is an observer and witness of
real events, on the other hand, and he is an active participant who shows the high degree of reflection
and self reflection. (276). Furthermore, another key to gonzo journalism is the use of fact and fiction
integrated together to portray a desired message to the reader. The use of gonzo journalism

Millions of Americans women and men have a secret obsession. They re obsessed with how they look,

Goodfellas Film Essay
The three terms/concepts are: mise en scène, décor, and costumes. The characterization in the film
Goodfellas by director Martin Scorsese is based on a true story of the Italian mafia. The overall mise
en scène; the design and composition of the film Goodfellas, includes the décor in set design and the
characters wardrobe consisting of New York retro fashion costumes.
Scorsese engages viewers with his use of a unique approach in mise en scène that aligns the gangster
theme within set location, and the use of music in sound with a first person narrative voiceover. In
fact, the narrative shapes the design in Goodfellas, and the story is set in New York, which includes all

Research Paper On Static Code Analysis
Abstract:
Security and performance are crucial aspects of software quality measurement. Static code analysis is
one of the techniques used for quality assurance of a software. Here we propose a system which can
be used on the salesforce platform for static code analysis of the apex code. The three components of
the tool will step by step evaluate the code and produce final results which can be used to determine
the code quality. This paper goes through various methods that can be used to develop a static code
analysis.
1. Introduction
Salesforce is a cloud application platform. It allows to develop and host applications.
The business logic for salesforce app can be derived from apex programming.

3. Survey of proposed system
By scrutinizing an application s source code without having to actually execute it, it is possible to find
errors prior to production early in the development cycle. static code analysis tool can help with the
code review process by 1. detecting areas in the code that need to be refactored and simplified, 2.
finding areas of the code which may need deeper review or more testing, 3. identify design issues and
help reduce the code complexity so as to improve maintainability, 4. identify potential software
quality issues before the code moves to production.
The proposed system can be used to scan the apex code and it will report vulnerabilities present in the
software. The proposed system is helpful for the developer to scan their code and improve the code
quality.

Analysis Of The Movie I Am Sam

I Am Sam:
A Psychological Film Analysis
The difficulties faced today in society by those with serious intellectual disabilities are very large
hurdles faced by many in today s world. These disabilities along with the pressure to remain
independent question how we deal with those intellectually challenged individuals. The film, I Am
Sam details the struggle of Sam Dawson a man living with mild intellectual disabilities and his fight to
maintain custody of his young daughter. This film details many different important psychological
principles that are taught and studied in modern psychology. These principles are brought up and make
us question the validity and extent of principles that are held sacred in the psychological world today.
The idea of having different parenting styles and which way to parent children is the best is debated
and questioned in the psychological community. Sam Dawson throughout the film is generally lenient
and uses no stern language or punishment on his daughter, Lucy. All this stays true until on scene,
Sam decides to parent Lucy more sternly. In this scene, Sam had just been told by school
administrators that they were worried that Lucy would fall behind in school because her father Sam
could not teach her anything past his seven year old intelligence level. When Lucy tells him he cannot

Implications Of Plato s Censorship Of Poetry In The Republic
In the Republic, Plato proposes the complete censorship of imitative poetry from his ideal city,
arguing that it corrupts individuals souls and therefore has a negative effect on society, resulting in
injustice within the city. Although seemingly trivial at first, when considered within its proper context,
the censorship of imitative poetry from the city would result in severe consequences. Throughout this
essay I will discuss the political and psychological implications of its censorship, and will also refute
Plato s argument, showing how it lacks soundness: notably, through a criticism of his epistemology.
Regarding the political implications of the censorship of poetry, I will draw from the ideas of Karl
Popper, who argued Plato to be one of the most influential philosophers on the emergence of
totalitarian regimes in the 20th century, laying the foundations for their very existence (K. Popper,
1945). I will also show how poets themselves have an important political role within cities, in that
they enable the general population to hold the state accountable for their actions. To discuss the
psychological implications of poetry s censorship, I will compare the contrasting views of Plato and
Aristotle regarding its effect on the soul, whereby Aristotle claims that poetry actually has beneficial,
cathartic effects. Following these criticisms, it will become apparent that Plato s proposed ban of
imitative poetry is indefensible.
Firstly, to fully understand Plato s proposal

Why Do We Study Our Times
Why did the authors do the study? We don t remember our past as accurately as we would like to
believe. It is impossible to remember every detail of our lives. Because of this serious revisions and
important distortions occur over time. We use self schemas to organize our personal history. Memories
become less accurate and increasingly coherent over the years. We rewrite our personal histories. We
aren t lying about our past we re just misremembering the way it fits with our schemas. This is why
Ross, McFarland, and Fletcher conducted this experiment. They wanted to shed some light on how
this came about. What did they do? There were 54 males and 47 females subjects recruited from the
University of Waterloo. The questionnaire on attitude was completed by thirty five subjects and 66
subjects completed the assessed behavior recall questionnaire. A pretest was conducted to select the
attitudes issues for the study. The subjects were exposed to a communication that was favorable or
unfavorable toward tooth brushing. The remaining subjects were exposed to a communication that
was favorable or unfavorable toward bathing. The subjects were taken to a room in groups of 2 to 5

The Charter Of Rights And Freedoms
The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is part of the Constitution and it was added to the Constitution in
1982. The Constitution has many laws about the essential guidelines one must follow in our country. It
also governs how the government/ organizations should treat their citizens. The Charter allows the
citizens and newcomers to feel like they are appreciated and also safe. However, there are situations
where the Charter cannot protect you. The Charter can be stretched and can be looked at from
different perspectives which is why these cases are very controversial. In Canada, we have many
levels of courts so if someone was rejected by a lower court, they can appeal to a higher one. Cases
that include an individual that feels as if their rights haven t been respected take months because the
appeal to present their case in front of a higher court can take weeks. It is the understanding of the
individual that the if he/she brings a case to the court, they will win because courts are equal and
unbiased but when that is not always the case. There are many cases when the judge cannot decide
because both the challenger and the law are correct. In today s society, equality issues are ever
growing, these cases are brought based on section 15 of the charter that promises Canadians are fair
and equal trial regardless of the differences. Decisions are very tough, so they are usually made on the
grounds of evidence, statutes and precedent cases.
A great example of these controversial

The second criteria was more difficult to assess in that while the intended outcomes were clear the
nature of the intervention and its ability to produce these outcomes was less so. The final criteria
involves the transfer of change management competence to the team which was difficult to assess
prior to the intervention however in giving it consideration the transfer of these skills was to be a
component of the intervention in that it would be part of the intervention to transfer some basic change
management concepts to the team which they would be encouraged to use when working together.
Prior to the intervention consideration was also given to the desired outcomes on a higher level than
those that were financial and performance based. What would the team look like after the
intervention? Would they evolve into a High Performance Team and if so what defines a High
Performance Team? To establish these desired outcomes an analysis of the key stakeholders of the

This analysis and subsequent meetings with these stakeholders revealed a number of different
requirements many of which were conflicting with each other. This revealed some of the root causes
behind the results of the team assessment particularly in relation to decision making and respect. This

Causes Of The Battle Of Crete
The Battle of Crete Intro The Battle Of Crete was a meaningful battle during World War 2, although it
ended up in a failure for the allied powers there was a lot of context behind it. The conflict all started
with Italy s narrow minded dictator Benito Mussolini who wanted a new Rome, they thought taking
Greece would be a piece of cake but they ended up retreating and relying on help from their ally, the
Germans. The Germans ended up making their way through Greece quite easily due to the Greeks
having no chance against their war machine. The only thing left for the Axis to take was now Crete,
one of the biggest islands in the mediterranean sea. The Crete campaign although a failure, it began as
an inspired idea with the highest of hopes. What were the causes of The Battle of Crete? The axis
aggression was immense, and Italy s hate for the Greeks made an inevitable conflict. Italy s imperial
ambitions in Europe in 1936 incorporated the capturing of Greece. Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini
went through with his plan and presented an ultimatum to Ioannis Metaxis (prime minister of Greece
at the time) telling them to surrender Greece, Metaxis rejected but even before the ultimatum had
expired Italy had invaded Greece through Albania. Combat began with the Greek and Italian armies,
and after weeks of inconclusive battle the Italians retreated from albania and called on the Germans to
help, as soon as the British heard about the Germans fighting against Greece they joined

Authoritarian Technologies In The Whale And The Reactor
Although Ursula Franklin and Langdon Winner both classify technology in different ways, they bring
up many similar points regarding the intersection of power and technology in our everyday life.
Franklin s theory of technology as practice categorizes technology as either prescriptive or holistic in
The Real World of Technology, which correlates well with Winner s idea of technology being created
with either authoritarian or democratic motives in The Whale and the Reactor. After reading both
arguments, a clear correlation can be made between holistic/democratic technologies and
prescriptive/authoritarian technologies as a way to describe power in our society.
Franklin uses the term technology to define ways of doing something. To her, holistic ... Show more

Franklin s idea of a prescriptive technology is any process that has been broken down into steps,
where workers specialize in only one step. These technologies require discipline and planning, and are
designed for compliance (Franklin, 1999). She uses Chinese bronze making to show how each step
involves different people, because if they weren t completed properly, the process couldn t continue.
Similarly, Winner s view on authoritarian technology in that objects can either be designed to assist
those with a hidden agenda to establish patterns of power and authority (Winner, 1986) or that new
technologies or some of their qualities can be strongly or specifically linked to parties who are trying
to create a need for authority or power. Both of these arguments highlight that these technologies now
dominate society, and are no longer restricted to mainly material production. They can be found in
administrative and economic activities as well as many aspects governance. Technology can now
control where we can and cannot go, removing the need to make decisions. He used the construction
of overpasses in New York as an example of this. To control who was able to get into the city,
overpasses were built low so only cars (owned by white people in the middle and upper class) could
get in and those who took public transit (poor people and racial minorities) could not, limiting the
amount of low income citizens. This also shows that new technologies can be created for one purpose
(transportation) to disguise hidden motives (controlling the demographic of a population). Franklin
also acknowledges this, explaining that although prescriptive technologies have brought us many
important products, raised living standards and increased well being, they have also created a culture
of compliance (Franklin, 1999). Winner and Franklin both show a concern for these types of
technologies,

The Middle Kingdom of Egypt lasted roughly from C.2055 1786.B.C. It is written that the Vizier was

The Production of Video Games Taught At School
An electronic device in which a player would control the images on the screen is known as video
games (WorldBookStudent). Video games are the basis to why some students do not do well to school.
This is because these students would get the video game addiction in which the games would take
over the lives of a kid. Is this a psychological disorder like the others stated within the DSM IV? The
answer for this is no (CRCHealthGroup). This addiction however is not a mental disorder, but instead
many students may use video games as a stress reducer by releasing all their energy that they gain
during the day on the video games. These students would only feel that a videogame is more
interesting because it would have cool graphics and most games are multiplayer games which mean
that they can play with their friends (VideoGameAddiction). This cause would lead to the effect of
where students do badly in school because they would be too concentrated in the video games they
play that they will have less time to do any homework which will lead them to not understanding the
concept within what the lesson is about. From this adults can understand how students do not do well
when they take tests and final exams. What can people do about this situation in this case? Since some
students within school are addicted to video games, therefore the school system should provide a
career pathway on how to create and program video games because it will allow these gaming
students to participate

Jealousy And Deception In Othello
The endurance of a text can be evaluated through timeless universal human values it examines.
William Shakespeare s Othello centralises on a transformation of a man from innocent and honourable
to someone who is blinded by rage. This is done through the utilisation of literary techniques that
ultimately emphasise universal human characteristics such as jealousy and deception, both of which
are still present in the 21st century. Shakespeare has juxtaposed the different interpretations to each of
these ideas of jealousy and deception through the use of numerous techniques.
In his play, Othello , Shakespeare explores a common human motif jealousy in different ways.
Jealousy is the driving force behind the play, represented by the many characters ... Show more

In Shakespeare s play Othello , the whole tragedy revolves around a sense of appearance versus reality
through the deceptive nature of Iago. This is represented by the dramatic irony in so please your grace,
my ancient: A man he is of honesty and trust . In this, Othello displays dramatic irony by saying that
Iago is honest and trustworthy when the audience knows that he isn t. In this, Shakespeare ultimately
highlights the deceptive nature of humanity. Shakespeare also uses dialogue to convey deception. This
is evident in I hate the moor. My cause is hearted; thine hath no less reason. Let us be conjunctive in
our revenge against him . In this, Iago expresses his inner emotions, as in front of Othello he acts loyal
and trustworthy, while he backbites about him to others. Deception is further examined through
foreshadowing in I am not what I am . In this scene, Iago foreshadows his true nature and implies that
he is not what he appears to be. In the scene, Iago is perceived to be helping Othello, but his end goals
are to harm him. Shakespeare further uses foreshadowing to convey this idea, but from a different
perspective, in Perdition catch my soul / But I do love thee! And when I love thee not, / Chaos is come
again . The phrase Chaos is come again foreshadows that Othello s universe will come to an end when
he stops loving

Similarities Between Blood Diamond And The Constant Gardener
The films Blood Diamond and The Constant Gardener both represent the relatively recent shift of
modern film making towards depicting Africa centric story lines in order to spread awareness of issues
such as corruption and exploitation to American and European audiences. However, the portrayal of
Africa in these two movies in particular, should be carefully considered, as these movies may present
the more stereotypical Africa rather than the truth.
A good example of the stereotypical representation of Africans is Solomon Vandi from Blood
Diamond. Throughout the movie, he is portrayed as the know nothing black man that has a good goal,
which is that of trying to find and rescue his son, but has no idea how to function outside his little
rural village. Danny Archer, on the other hand, is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

see perfectly depicted the two factions of Africa: Archer is shown in so called rural Africa, a place
punctuated throughout the film with bright, vibrant colours and large expanses of dry, sandy plane.
Here Archer realises he belongs, and to the viewer, this realisation is emphasised by the use of
continuous back and forth cuts between where Archer lies and where Maddy sits, as Maddy s
surroundings are starkly different. Although Maddy is still in Africa, she is shown in a city so modern
it is given the same grey scale that is attributed to Western cities. The stark contrast in colour therefore
makes the viewer realise the contrast between the two views of Africa, and serves as a meaningful
conclusion to Archer s on going battle to get out of rural

Essay On A Stand Against Slavery
A Stand Against Slavery or a Stand for the Union Imagine being crammed in the underbelly of a
rundown ship, floating towards a place you ve heard dreaded stories of. Your fellow neighbors and

How Did Berkeley And Hume Affect The Enlightenment
This week, I will be answering question number two (2) which asks about Berkeley and Hume. How
did these two philosophers effect the progress of the Enlightenment? Is one philosopher more
successful than the other? I will be focusing on Berkeley and Hume s impact on the work of
Enlightenment and Empiricist philosopher John Locke. Berkeley and Hume both had some differing
ideas when compared to those of some of the Enlightenment philosophers. For example, Berkeley
rejected the idea of Locke s distinction between primary and secondary qualities of perception.
According to Berkeley, all perception is secondary. Berkeley also argued that we cannot know

Antitrust And The American Consumer
Antitrust and the American Consumer
Kent L. Himes
College of Western Idaho
Abstract
The predominant view in the United States is that The Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890 was passed with
the intent to protect consumers from inefficient market forms, and predation by large corporations.
The specific provisions of the Sherman Act, as well as the later Clayton Act of 1914, prohibit acts that
are considered to be anti competitive such as cartels, monopolies, price discrimination, and predatory
pricing. Mergers and acquisitions are also individually reviewed to ensure they won t have an anti
competitive effect on the market. We will look at each of these acts to try to determine their actual
impact to the consumer. We will also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(DOJ 1997) Note that price fixing doesn t necessarily need to result in increased prices.
Price fixing scenarios require two main ingredients to be effective for the companies that attempt
them. First, the demand curve for the product or service in question must be sufficiently inelastic such
that a decrease in production will raise the price enough to ensure a higher profit level. The second
requirement for price fixing is that participating companies must combine for an effective monopoly
of the market in question. If two relatively minor companies decide to raise their prices together, this
will only result in the rest of the market taking additional share, and the conspirators losing money.
In a free market economy, price fixing agreements face two large challenges to their effectiveness. The
first is that while the companies participating in a price fixing agreement will benefit as a whole from
adhering to the agreement, each individual company has a very strong incentive to cheat on the
agreement and charge a market rate. Lowering prices allows the company to pick up additional market
share from their competitors and increase profits for themselves above what they would be entitled to
under the agreement. The second difficulty arises from the fact that without very high barriers to
market entry, the higher prices being charged

Voting The Voting Rights Act
To Begin, Party in the electorate, or PIE, refers to the eligible voting population. The composition of
the party in the electorate can help and hurt the candidates running for office, as the electorate can
vote candidates either in or out of office. Over the course of American government, the most recent
changes and influences to the electorate include the passage of the Voting Rights Act, as well as the
recent Supreme Court decision in Shelby County v. Holder. For example, the video Fight for the Right
to Vote, features one experts explaining that prior to the passage of the Voting Rights Act, around half
of the eligible voters were unable to vote, thanks to the systematic repression (CITATION). Poll taxes,
literacy tests, and inaccurate information regarding locations and dates include a few of the methods
that powerful whites used to prevent poor minority voters from voting. The passage of the Voting
Rights Act allowed the entire eligible portion of the population to vote, and thanks to federal
government, was effective; state and local governments needed approval from the Federal
Government before changing voting requirements. The Voting Rights Act also provided the Federal
Government with the power to oversee the voting registration where more than 50% of the nonwhite
population was eligible to vote, and allowed the U.S. Attorney General to investigate the usage of poll
taxes at the state and local government level (CITATION). The Voting Rights Act had an enormous

Eleanor and Amory hate each other after this realization, but the hatred has a good quality in that
Amory understands that he had loved himself in Eleanor, so now what he hated was only a mirror
(218). Choosing to emulate Eleanor s dementia proved to be a bad decision along the course of Amory
s search for himself. He sees his own defunct image in this mirror, and it frightens him.
It causes him to temporarily loathe himself as well as Eleanor, but it also teaches him that he needs to
become an individual. While this idea exists in
Amory s mind, it does not strike him full force until the death of Monsignor
Darcy.
Monsignor Darcy seems to be an odd choice for a role model for Amory since Amory continually
refers to himself as a paganist (209). However, it is not surprising that Amory idolizes the Monsignor
not only because his pagan talk is superficial, but also because Beatrice held the Monsignor in the
highest regard. Amory does not mean he believes in paganism when he refers to himself as paganist;
he does not know himself well enough to know whether or not he believes in God. Rather he means he
experiences what could be called a paganism of the soul: he has no soul, therefore nothing exists for
him to, figuratively, worship, or technically, with which to worship. Amory looks up to Monsignor

TQM Doesnt Work While I agree that Quality improves organizations, businesses, and individuals,
Total Quality Management (TQM) as a system for improvement loses its effectiveness based on the
present culture, business methodologies, and globalization of markets.
TQM has invaded countless industries and is a favorite buzz word of top executives and managers,
TQM concepts are rarely fully implemented other than posters, memos, and press releases. While the
basic concepts of TQM are inherently internal to each of us, the moniker of TQM continues to be an

As managers do see the immediate value of such a system, they are always expecting immediate
results and total commitment based on the fact that memos were published and distributed, meetings
were held, and a newly formed TQM department circulated the newsletter. The culture of today does
not want to commit to a system that doesn t offer overnight results. This culture wants results like its
food...fast and low quality. Think of how the McDonald s slogan epitomizes the culture of today over
one million served.
Business Methodologies: Today, methodologies around business focus on quick results and flawless
quantifiable execution at the speed of light. Because methodologies are such, patient transition or goal
transformation is not consistent with today s business norms. As the computer age has swept both
housholds and businesses alike, the speed and accuracy at which millions of transistors and
microcircuits operate dazzle scientists while ensuring the success of one business and marking the
failure of another to keep up with the blazing pace that dominates the business world. If a business can
quickly leverage its resources it can keep up with the pack, otherwise today s norms predict failure.
Like the functions of a microchip, quantifiable standards have focused directly on the bottom line
profit. While TQM presents an indirect method of approching the same goal.

Pygmalion And My Fair Lady

11/11/2015
Pygmalion and My Fair Lady: A Comparison George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion (1916) and the 1964
American film My Fair Lady, based on Shaw s play, are largely similar in plot and character choice;
My Fair Lady being an adaptation of Pygmalion. Shaw s Pygmalion is based on the Greek myth of
Pygmalion and his statue Galatea. The film interpretation is similar to the play in many aspects,
though it is different in that, because it is a film, the creators had more liberty with scenes and props
used. My Fair Lady is a successful movie adaptation of Shaw s Pygmalion in that it conveys most of
the message Shaw wrote, introduced very similar characters and storyline; however, the film adds in
musical elements, more extravagant examples of scenes, and slightly different themes and emotional
responses than the play itself has to offer audiences. My Fair Lady is basically a straight adaptation of
Pygmalion much of the script is the same dialogue as the play exactly, or with a few words changed,
and takes direct quotes from Shaw s writing. The characters have the same names that Shaw gave
them, and their personalities are quite the same in both the play and the film. Directors did not leave
any character mentioned in the play out of the movie, even if they were only spotted for a very
fleeting moment, like the women of the Eynsford Hill family at the horse race. The similarities of

Roka Akora Offers a wild variety of sushi, Maki, aged steaks and daily sushi specials, with its five star service and exquisite taste the resultant stands out among its competitors. Neither the Exterior nor the interior of the restaurant (dose) indicates that the restaurant is Japanese. From the outside it looks more Mexican than Japanese. From the inside I could feel the japanese atmosphere, maybe because of all the Saki bottles.Nonetheless, nothing special in the design, It also offers an indoor and an outdoor setting. My friend and I decided to sit inside, when we looked at the menu, we were surprised by the variety of sushi that they had. They also have a daily sushi specials menu, which you need to ask your waitress about. With that in mind, this exploration aligns to the Analytical Framework methodology as described in our class textbook, The Struggle for Democracy by authors Edward Greenberg and Benjamin Page. Thus, the congressional act I ve chosen to examine is the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 as it s of immense importance to all Americans. Specifically, this act addresses the fundamental need of our nation s workforce as it relates to work/life balance; therefore, by providing the context of the reasons why such a law emerged, identifying the collaborating actors in the creation and implementation of the law, articulating the process of enactments, as well as outlining out its path to enactment using the Analytical Framework, this exploration will increase its reader s competency of knowledge about what transpired in passing the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. Many kept on buying the stock, the corporate mantra and the dream. In the meantime, the company made many high risk deals, some of which were outside the company s typical asset risk control process. Under Skilling s leadership, Enron Finance Corp. soon dominated the market for natural gas contracts, with more contacts, more access to supplies and more customers than any of its competitors. With its market power, Enron could predict future prices with great accuracy, guaranteeing superior profits. Skilling began to change the corporate culture of Enron to match the company s transformed image as a trading business. He set out on a quest to hire the best and brightest traders, recruiting associates from the top MBA schools in the country and competing with the largest and most prestigious investment banks for talent. In exchange for grueling schedules, Enron pampered its associates with a long list of corporate perks, including concierge services and a company gym. Skilling rewarded production with merit based bonuses that had no cap, permitting traders to eat what they killed. One of Skilling s earliest hires in 1990 was Andrew Fastow, a 29 year old Kellogg MBA who had been working on leveraged buyouts and other complicated deals at Continental Illinois Bank in Chicago. Fastow became Skilling s protege in the same way Skilling had become Lay s. Fastow moved swiftly through the ranks and was promoted to chief financial officer in 1998. As Skilling oversaw the building of the company s vast trading operation, Fastow oversaw its financing. Siddiqi (1992) notes in Chapra (2000) that the definition of Islamic economics is The Muslim thinkers response to the economic challenges of their times. In this endeavor, they were aided by the Quran and the Sunnah as well as by reason and experience. It s not his fault that Jocasta and Laius tried to outsmart fate and dispose of him. In trying to run from this prophecy, did he really do anything any other person, given the culture, wouldn t have done? Is Oedipus a victim of fate or is he responsible for the choices he makes? What does Sophocles suggest? What do you think? Use specific references from the text in your response. It is sort of an iffy question when we are trying to figure out whether or not Oedipus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are definitely two arguments on whether or not Oedipus had fallen to fate or made his own decisions, but if you think about it, the prophecy stated literally everything that was going to happen, and maybe it would not had happened if Oedipus did not seek out everything because the prophecy only unfolded when he began to venture out and look for the problem trying to solve his own problems. Him doing this unraveled something much worse and is what led him to his banishment, so if you think about it, maybe fate did bring him to this terrible ending, but how can we be for sure because he did make these decisions himself. Jocasta and Laius were the two to blame for believing in such a thing and leaving their child to die a terrible death, only to come back and have the prophecy happen anyways. As an example, in the Christian Bible, evil is represented by the figure of Satan who before transforming himself into a demon, he was one of the most confidant and influence angels in heaven. However, due to the fact of his ambitious to become more powerful than the same Creator, God sent him to earth. As a matter of fact, in the bible Satan is portrayed as the cost of temptation and the promoter of mankind`s disobedience toward God. Every year thousands of children are injured or even killed due to a car not being properly installed or not following the guidelines to ensure safety. In all the excitement of getting the car seat at baby showers, picking up the color and style the family wants, sometimes safety is easily forgotten. Families do not realize it can be challenging to put a car seat in their vehicle. Even before a seat is bought, it is crucial for the parents to research what seat is best and what one has high safety standards. It is important to know how the car seat was scored in safety rating tests. The family I personally taught had the base of car seat installed correctly, they had verbalized how it fit in the vehicle and understood the baby needed to be in rear facing car seat. NFL rules stipulate that footballs must be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 pounds per square inch and weigh between 14 and 15 ounces. Former NFL official Jim Daopoulos, in an interview with ESPN on Monday morning, explained the process in which footballs are managed. Two hours and 15 minutes before each game, officials inspect 12 footballs from each team and put a mark on them to indicate they meet the proper requirements and are good for usage. Then those footballs are given to the ball attendant. There also is a second set of six footballs, used specifically for the kicking game, that are marked appropriately and remain in the possession of officials at all times. Officials check balls as they go into the game, and if the ball doesn t feel perfect, they can throw it out, Daopoulos said. There is always the possibility that balls can lose air due to the conditions. A team can be fined if it is found to be knowingly altering the weight of the football. The NFL s game operations manual states: Once the balls have left the locker room, no one, including players, equipment managers, ball boys, and coaches, is allowed to alter the footballs in any way. Implications Of Plato s Censorship Of Poetry In The Republic In the Republic, Plato proposes the complete censorship of imitative poetry from his ideal city, arguing that it corrupts individuals souls and therefore has a negative effect on society, resulting in injustice within the city. Although seemingly trivial at first, when considered within its proper context, the censorship of imitative poetry from the city would result in severe consequences. Throughout this essay I will discuss the political and psychological implications of its censorship, and will also refute Plato s argument, showing how it lacks soundness: notably, through a criticism of his epistemology. Regarding the political implications of the censorship of poetry, I will draw from the ideas of Karl Popper, who argued Plato to be one of the most influential philosophers on the emergence of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century, laying the foundations for their very existence (K. Popper, 1945). I will also show how poets themselves have an important political role within cities, in that they enable the general population to hold the state accountable for their actions. To discuss the psychological implications of poetry s censorship, I will compare the contrasting views of Plato and Aristotle regarding its effect on the soul, whereby Aristotle claims that poetry actually has beneficial, cathartic effects. Following these criticisms, it will become apparent that Plato s proposed ban of imitative poetry is indefensible. Firstly, to fully understand Plato s proposal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Because of this serious revisions and important distortions occur over time. We use self schemas to organize our personal history. Memories become less accurate and increasingly coherent over the years. We rewrite our personal histories. We aren t lying about our past we re just misremembering the way it fits with our schemas. The Charter allows the citizens and newcomers to feel like they are appreciated and also safe. However, there are situations where the Charter cannot protect you. The Charter can be stretched and can be looked at from different perspectives which is why these cases are very controversial. Cases that include an individual that feels as if their rights haven t been respected take months because the appeal to present their case in front of a higher court can take weeks. It is the understanding of the individual that the if he/she brings a case to the court, they will win because courts are equal and unbiased but when that is not always the case. Causes Of The Battle Of Crete The Battle of Crete Intro The Battle Of Crete was a meaningful battle during World War 2, although it ended up in a failure for the allied powers there was a lot of context behind it. The conflict all started with Italy s narrow minded dictator Benito Mussolini who wanted a new Rome, they thought taking Greece would be a piece of cake but they ended up retreating and relying on help from their ally, the Germans. The Germans ended up making their way through Greece quite easily due to the Greeks having no chance against their war machine. The axis aggression was immense, and Italy s hate for the Greeks made an inevitable conflict. Italy s imperial ambitions in Europe in 1936 incorporated the capturing of Greece. Fascist dictator Benito Mussolini went through with his plan and presented an ultimatum to Ioannis Metaxis (prime minister of Greece at the time) telling them to surrender Greece, Metaxis rejected but even before the ultimatum had expired Italy had invaded Greece through Albania. Franklin s idea of a prescriptive technology is any process that has been broken down into steps, where workers specialize in only one step. These technologies require discipline and planning, and are designed for compliance (Franklin, 1999). She uses Chinese bronze making to show how each step involves different people, because if they weren t completed properly, the process couldn t continue. Similarly, Winner s view on authoritarian technology in that objects can either be designed to assist those with a hidden agenda to establish patterns of power and authority (Winner, 1986) or that new technologies or some of their qualities can be strongly or specifically linked to parties who are trying to create a need for authority or power. Both of these arguments highlight that these technologies now dominate society, and are no longer restricted to mainly material production. They can be found in administrative and economic activities as well as many aspects governance. Technology can now control where we can and cannot go, removing the need to make decisions. He used the construction of overpasses in New York as an example of this. To control who was able to get into the city, overpasses were built low so only cars (owned by white people in the middle and upper class) could get in and those who took public transit (poor people and racial minorities) could not, limiting the amount of low income citizens. This also shows that new technologies can be created for one purpose (transportation) to disguise hidden motives (controlling the demographic of a population). Franklin also acknowledges this, explaining that although prescriptive technologies have brought us many important products, raised living standards and increased well being, they have also created a culture of compliance (Franklin, 1999). Video games are the basis to why some students do not do well to school. This is because these students would get the video game addiction in which the games would take over the lives of a kid. Is this a psychological disorder like the others stated within the DSM IV? The answer for this is no (CRCHealthGroup). This addiction however is not a mental disorder, but instead many students may use video games as a stress reducer by releasing all their energy that they gain during the day on the video games. These students would only feel that a videogame is more interesting because it would have cool graphics and most games are multiplayer games which mean that they can play with their friends (VideoGameAddiction). This cause would lead to the effect of where students do badly in school because they would be too concentrated in the video games they play that they will have less time to do any homework which will lead them to not understanding the concept within what the lesson is about. From this adults can understand how students do not do well when they take tests and final exams. What can people do about this situation in this case? This is represented by the dramatic irony in so please your grace, my ancient: A man he is of honesty and trust . In this, Othello displays dramatic irony by saying that Iago is honest and trustworthy when the audience knows that he isn t. In this, Shakespeare ultimately highlights the deceptive nature of humanity. Shakespeare also uses dialogue to convey deception. This is evident in I hate the moor. My cause is hearted; thine hath no less reason. Let us be conjunctive in our revenge against him . In this, Iago expresses his inner emotions, as in front of Othello he acts loyal and trustworthy, while he backbites about him to others. Deception is further examined through foreshadowing in I am not what I am . In this scene, Iago foreshadows his true nature and implies that he is not what he appears to be. In the scene, Iago is perceived to be helping Othello, but his end goals are to harm him. Shakespeare further uses foreshadowing to convey this idea, but from a different perspective, in Perdition catch my soul / But I do love thee! And when I love thee not, / Chaos is come again . • 30. Similarities Between Blood Diamond And The Constant Gardener The films Blood Diamond and The Constant Gardener both represent the relatively recent shift of modern film making towards depicting Africa centric story lines in order to spread awareness of issues such as corruption and exploitation to American and European audiences. However, the portrayal of Africa in these two movies in particular, should be carefully considered, as these movies may present the more stereotypical Africa rather than the truth. A good example of the stereotypical representation of Africans is Solomon Vandi from Blood Diamond. Throughout the movie, he is portrayed as the know nothing black man that has a good goal, which is that of trying to find and rescue his son, but has no idea how to function outside his little rural village. In this scene we see perfectly depicted the two factions of Africa: Archer is shown in so called rural Africa, a place punctuated throughout the film with bright, vibrant colours and large expanses of dry, sandy plane. Here Archer realises he belongs, and to the viewer, this realisation is emphasised by the use of continuous back and forth cuts between where Archer lies and where Maddy sits, as Maddy s surroundings are starkly different. Although Maddy is still in Africa, she is shown in a city so modern it is given the same grey scale that is attributed to Western cities. The stark contrast in colour therefore makes the viewer realise the contrast between the two views of Africa, and serves as a meaningful conclusion to Archer s on going battle to get out of rural ... Essay On A Stand Against Slavery A Stand Against Slavery or a Stand for the Union Imagine being crammed in the underbelly of a rundown ship, floating towards a place you ve heard dreaded stories of. • 32. How Did Berkeley And Hume Affect The Enlightenment This week, I will be answering question number two (2) which asks about Berkeley and Hume. How did these two philosophers effect the progress of the Enlightenment? Is one philosopher more successful than the other? I will be focusing on Berkeley and Hume s impact on the work of Enlightenment and Empiricist philosopher John Locke. Berkeley and Hume both had some differing ideas when compared to those of some of the Enlightenment philosophers. For example, Berkeley rejected the idea of Locke s distinction between primary and secondary qualities of perception. According to Berkeley, all perception is secondary. Himes College of Western Idaho Abstract The predominant view in the United States is that The Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890 was passed with the intent to protect consumers from inefficient market forms, and predation by large corporations. The specific provisions of the Sherman Act, as well as the later Clayton Act of 1914, prohibit acts that are considered to be anti competitive such as cartels, monopolies, price discrimination, and predatory pricing. Mergers and acquisitions are also individually reviewed to ensure they won t have an anti competitive effect on the market. (DOJ 1997) Note that price fixing doesn t necessarily need to result in increased prices. Price fixing scenarios require two main ingredients to be effective for the companies that attempt them. First, the demand curve for the product or service in question must be sufficiently inelastic such that a decrease in production will raise the price enough to ensure a higher profit level. The second requirement for price fixing is that participating companies must combine for an effective monopoly of the market in question. If two relatively minor companies decide to raise their prices together, this will only result in the rest of the market taking additional share, and the conspirators losing money. In a free market economy, price fixing agreements face two large challenges to their effectiveness. The first is that while the companies participating in a price fixing agreement will benefit as a whole from adhering to the agreement, each individual company has a very strong incentive to cheat on the agreement and charge a market rate. Lowering prices allows the company to pick up additional market share from their competitors and increase profits for themselves above what they would be entitled to under the agreement. The second difficulty arises from the fact that without very high barriers to market entry, the higher prices being charged ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The passage of the Voting Rights Act allowed the entire eligible portion of the population to vote, and thanks to federal government, was effective; state and local governments needed approval from the Federal Government before changing voting requirements. The Voting Rights Act also provided the Federal Government with the power to oversee the voting registration where more than 50% of the nonwhite population was eligible to vote, and allowed the U.S. Attorney General to investigate the usage of poll taxes at the state and local government level (CITATION). Eleanor and Amory hate each other after this realization, but the hatred has a good quality in that Amory understands that he had loved himself in Eleanor, so now what he hated was only a mirror (218). Choosing to emulate Eleanor s dementia proved to be a bad decision along the course of Amory s search for himself. He sees his own defunct image in this mirror, and it frightens him. It causes him to temporarily loathe himself as well as Eleanor, but it also teaches him that he needs to become an individual. While this idea exists in Amory s mind, it does not strike him full force until the death of Monsignor Darcy. Monsignor Darcy seems to be an odd choice for a role model for Amory since Amory continually refers to himself as a paganist (209). However, it is not surprising that Amory idolizes the Monsignor not only because his pagan talk is superficial, but also because Beatrice held the Monsignor in the highest regard. Amory does not mean he believes in paganism when he refers to himself as paganist; he does not know himself well enough to know whether or not he believes in God. Rather he means he experiences what could be called a paganism of the soul: he has no soul, therefore nothing exists for him to, figuratively, worship, or technically, with which to worship. Pygmalion And My Fair Lady Amanda Franks Professor Egenolf Response Paper 2 11/11/2015 Pygmalion and My Fair Lady: A Comparison George Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion (1916) and the 1964 American film My Fair Lady, based on Shaw s play, are largely similar in plot and character choice; My Fair Lady being an adaptation of Pygmalion. Shaw s Pygmalion is based on the Greek myth of Pygmalion and his statue Galatea. The film interpretation is similar to the play in many aspects, though it is different in that, because it is a film, the creators had more liberty with scenes and props used. My Fair Lady is a successful movie adaptation of Shaw s Pygmalion in that it conveys most of the message Shaw wrote, introduced very similar characters and storyline; however, the film adds in musical elements, more extravagant examples of scenes, and slightly different themes and emotional responses than the play itself has to offer audiences. My Fair Lady is basically a straight adaptation of Pygmalion much of the script is the same dialogue as the play exactly, or with a few words changed, and takes direct quotes from Shaw s writing. The characters have the same names that Shaw gave them, and their personalities are quite the same in both the play and the film.
