IPC Media would be a good publisher for the magazine because they are highly successful and experienced, having published magazines for over 60 years. While IPC Media publishes some music magazines like NME, they do not publish any rock magazines, so the magazine proposed would not be in direct competition with others they publish. IPC Media also publishes magazines across multiple platforms like print, digital, social media and mobile, which matches the target audience aged 16-22 that consume media that way. If published by IPC Media, the magazine would be distributed in major UK retailers like Asda, Tesco, WHSmith and HMV, increasing its readership through wide physical distribution.

Lecture will cover advanced forensic techniques that law enforcement authorities can use for physical recovery.
Law enforcement agents are regularly faced with new challenges, new devices and new recovery methods. This is an outline from a 7-day long law enforcement and military bootcamp of advanced forensic techniques for HDD recovery and Chips (NAND) recovery. We have trained several law enforcement agencies around the world and helped deploy multiple laboratories and advanced forensic technologies for law enforcement, military and international agencies.
This lecture will be a practical demonstration and live lab of NAND recovery, HDD hack and crack, an introduction to electronics, mechanics and soft areas inside HDD, including foundations about HDD and NAND (chips) structure.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Question 3 what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why (2)
1. Question 3
What kind of media institution might distribute your
media product and why?
2. Why IPC Media?
The agency that I would like my magazine to be published by is IPC Media which is owned
by Time Inc. Firstly, Time inc was founded in 1968 in the UK. Time inc publishes
magazines and they are a very successful digital publisher reaching over 130 million each
month across multiple platforms. Cinven sold IPC Media to Time inc and IPC Media
became Time inc UK in September 2014. Like I have stated before, they are very
successful as in April 2012, IPC Media won an award for best production team of the year
at Professional Publishers Association Production.
3. The reason I chose IPC media to publish my magazine is because they are highly
successful. There are four main successful publishers which are BAUER, IPC Media,
NatMag and Conde Naste. Kerrang! magazine is published by Bauer Media which means
publishing my magazine by Bauer wouldn’t have been a good idea as both my magazine
and Kerrang! is a rock magazine and they would have to be in a competition. I chose IPC
Media because they do not publish any music magazines although they publish NME.
NME is a music journalism magazine which is associated with alternative, indie and rock
music. However, as they are widely open in genre there are many other genres involved,
even R&B. This means publishing my magazine by IPC Media would be different from
other magazines they publish, and my magazine would not be in a competition from a
magazine from the same agency and would not have the same content.
5. IPC Media would be a trustable publisher for my magazine because as they have been
running for over 60 years, and they publish a huge amount of magazines they are very
experienced. As they have many different target audiences for many of the different
magazines they own, they would know exactly what content each target audience is
most attracted by. One of the other reasons why I chose this agency is because they use
different platforms to advertise and publish magazines. They publish across different
platforms such as Print, Digital, Video, Social, Mobile and Tablet . My target audience is
the age group between 16-22, and people at these ages tend to be on social media a lot.
As the number of people buying magazines are decreasing, the reason for this is many
people now use different platforms especially social media. As they publish on different
platforms, the magazine will be suitable for both customers using print and other things
like social and mobile which are increasing all the time.
6. As for social media, Thunder will have its own website, have a facebook page, twitter
page, instagram page and a Linkedin page. Time Inc has over 40 million Twitter followers
which means they can advertise on their twitter page and many people will be informed
about anything in one click. My magazine website will also be linked in the Time Inc
official website which means they can get to my magazines website through Time Inc’s
website just like what they have for all the other magazines they publish.
7. Additionally, my magazine will be distributed in different stores across the UK. This will
increase the readership and the monetization of my magazine. The stores that my
magazine will be distributed in is ASDA, Tesco, WHSmith & Hmv. I chose these specific
stores as they are very well known and trusted stores in the UK. Asda now has over 525
stores across the UK, Tesco has over 3,535 stores, WHSmith has over 1,300 stores and
HMV has over 223 stores. They are all very known and safe stores and people constantly
visit them which means my magazine will be easy to find as there are a huge number of
stores it is distributed to.
