The student was tasked with designing a CD cover and digipack for an album titled "Searching" by the artist "Etherwood". For the front cover, they featured a picture of the artist with their name in a larger font as is common convention. The back cover featured a picture of the artist from behind. The inside pages included a map of the Paris underground to represent shots from the artist's video, and an eye design with the CD placed in the pupil to represent the album's title of "Searching". However, in their conclusion, the student determined that the design did not properly link to the Drum & Bass genre conventions and therefore should not be used.
In this presentation I have described how I produced my digipak using key skills and techniques I have learned through research. I also explain how I was creative and what my influences were

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

2. TASK
We got given the task of finding common words to describe the video we’ve created so far and
then came up with potential album names. We each then chose different titles and had to create a
digi-pack. I chose the title ‘Searching’ and this is what I created.
3. Front Cover
Including a
picture of the
artist as the main
focus of the
cover is not a
typical
convention of the
genre, however I
thought it would
match the title as
she is ‘searching.’
As ‘Etherwood’
is the artist’s
name, I chose
to make this a
bigger font
than the title,
as it’s more
important.
From previous
research I have
this to be a
common
convention.
4. Back Cover
I chose to have a
picture of the back
of the artist as it’s
the back cover
(additionally
contrasting to the
front.)
The font of the
songs will be
the same font
used for the
title of the
album at the
front to create
continuity with
the design.
I have also included
the record company’s
logo, the artist’s
website and the
barcode.
5. Inside (Left)
This is supposed to be
a map of the Paris
underground as our
video includes shots in
Paris, as well as
matching with the idea
of searching.
6. Inside (Right)
The pupil of the eye is
where the CD is intended
to go. The reason I chose
the eye is again because it
connotes searching.
7. Conclusion
To conclude, I like the idea however I do not think it links with the Drum & Bass genre and
conventions found from previous research, therefore I do not think the design should be used.
