Ancient Egypt was located along the fertile Nile River valley in North Africa between 3200 BC to 500 BC. It had an absolute monarchy where the Pharaoh was seen as a god and ruled over a social hierarchy topped by nobles and priests, and bottomed by peasants and slaves. The Egyptians made many accomplishments like developing hieroglyphic writing, building grand pyramids and temples, and advancing in geometry, astronomy, and biology like surgery and embalming. They also had polytheistic religious beliefs focused on preserving bodies for the afterlife.
