RESPONSIBILITIES OF GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS, NATIONAL TOURISM
    AUTHORITIES, AND REPRESENTATIVE TRADE ORGANIZATIONS.

GENERAL LINE OF RESEARCH: APPLIED LINGUISTICS

        NATURE OF RESEARCH: DOCUMENTARY RESEARCH

             SUPERVISOR: ALESSIO ZANIEL VISINTIN
This monographic study proposed here focused
on the creation of English-Spanish translation.
The chapter of the article presents an overall
aim and specifies nine priority areas for action
by the year 2005, for each area, an objective is
stated and a series of actions that will help to
achieve the objective are listed. This chapter
does not provide practical advice in carrying
  out the actions.
 Translation is not an easy job. Therefore, there
are a lot of languages around the world which
are not the same. For this reason, translation
has taken an important role in the common life
of every human being. Translation covers not
only word for word translation but also many
    other factors.

 This monographic study talks about the role
that the Government departments play for
    Travel and Tourism, national tourism
    authorities (NTAs), and representative trade
bodies. The function and the importance that
    each department have.
I decided to do this translation because some
students of the University of Quintana Roo
have been difficulties into this kind of topic
which are related to Tourism. For that reason I
think the article I choose will be a good source
to help people that have to deal with English
   and cannot understand English.
 The general objective of this paper is to facilitate a
useful source and help those individuals who are
specialized on business tourism and environment.

 Particular objectives

 To provide a better understanding of the article related
to their major to those students at the UQROO.

 To offer a suitable source to the university to facilitate
those students that have a low level of English.
Newmark (1988b) mentions the difference between translation
  methods and translation procedures:

 Word-for-word translation: in which the SL word order is
preserved and the words translated singly by their most
    common meanings, out of context.
 Literal translation: in which the SL grammatical constructions
are converted to their nearest TL equivalents, but the lexical
words are again translated singly, out of context.
 Faithful translation: it attempts to produce the precise
contextual meaning of the original within the constraints of
    the TL grammatical structures.
 Semantic translation: which differs from 'faithful translation'
only in as far as it must take more account of the aesthetic
    value of the SL text.
 Adaptation: which is the freest form of translation, and
is used mainly for plays (comedies) and poetry; the
themes, characters, plots are usually preserved, the SL
culture is converted to the TL culture and the text is
    rewritten.
 Free translation: it produces the TL text without the
style, form, or content of the original.
 Idiomatic translation: it reproduces the 'message' of the
original but tends to distort nuances of meaning by
preferring colloquialisms and idioms where these do
    not exist in the original.
 Communicative translation: it attempts to render the
exact contextual meaning of the original in such a way
that both content and language are readily acceptable
    and comprehensible to the readership
