Planning and Scheduling of a Multi-Storeyed Residential Building with Conventional Execution Approach as Compared with Application of Project Management Techniques
This document summarizes a study comparing the planning and scheduling of a multi-story residential building project using conventional construction practices versus applying project management techniques. The study analyzed a real residential building project in Belagavi, India that took 418 days and cost Rs. 3,89,43,521 using conventional practices. When the same project was planned and scheduled applying project management skills in Microsoft Project, the estimated duration was reduced to 321 days and cost was reduced to Rs. 3,77,19,686. The project management approach helped optimize resources, identify non-value adding activities, and fast-track the schedule to complete the project more efficiently within both time and budget.
Large Planning is a general term that sets a clear road map that should be followed to reach a destination. The term, therefore, has been used at different levels to mean different things. Planning involves the breakdown of the project into definable, measurable, and identifiable tasks activities, and then establishes the logical interdependences among them. These plans involve four main steps Performing breakdown of work items involved in the project into activities. Identifying the proper sequence by which the activities should be executed. Activities representation. Estimating the resources, time, and cost of individual activities. Planning requires a rigorous effort by the planning team. A planner should know the different categories of work and be familiar with the terminology and knowledge used in general practice. Also, the planning tem should seek the opinion of experts including actual construction experience. This helps produce a realistic plan and avoids problems later on site. P. B. Sudha | Dr. K. Review on Planning and Scheduling of Construction Project by Management Tool ...ijtsrd
Modern construction system has shown great potential in the field of the conventional construction system. The advantage of using new construction techniques for any type of construction is that the process takes no longer. The modern method of construction is defined as a way of working more effectively to achieve more while using less. The description lends itself heavily to offsite or modular construction techniques the method of prefabricating parts of building offsite before transporting and assembling them at their final location. Unlike traditional methods of construction is defined as a way of working more effectively. Poor construction management will cause the delay. Delay in the contracted project can result in penalties and adversely affect the reputation of the company. It is essential to manage the work within time. If construction time increases, construction cost also increases. It is necessary proper planning and management for construction work. Primavera p6 is a management tool. OPTIMAL PLANNING AND SCHEDULING OF HIGH RISE BUILDINGSIAEME Publication
Objective: The research aims an empirical study on the application of MSP in every
single aspect of a project from planning and scheduling phase. Irrespective of nature of
work, location or norms in an organization, all the members work on tasks that are varied
and involve people who do not usually work together but for the same objective. Methods:
A project may have a simple goal that may not require many people or a great amount of
capital or it may be complex to a certain extent, calling for various skills and excess of
resources. But, the common line is that every human can manage projects. Due to this, the
purpose of dealing with the project should not be only execution but the effective and
efficient execution of a project is essential which is needed to be emphasized. Construction
companies in India executes the project in a traditional way, this sometimes leads
uneconomical and tedious too. The traditional method is time-consuming and bit confusion
in execution. Findings: This paper will provide how to do planning and scheduling for a
building which is a multi-storied (G+8) with Microsoft Project (MSP) software by
observing the site conditions, labour productivity, and available resources with proper
utilization of time and resources. Application: This approach can be projected to similar
projects of the same size.

Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Terzaghi's soil bearing capacity theory, developed by Karl Terzaghi, is a fundamental principle in geotechnical engineering used to determine the bearing capacity of shallow foundations. This theory provides a method to calculate the ultimate bearing capacity of soil, which is the maximum load per unit area that the soil can support without undergoing shear failure.
