The Importance Of Working At The Post Office
Working at the Post Office is no walk in the park. In fact, this job requires excess amounts of
strenuous activity as well as the ability to multitask, time manage, and problem solve. While it
may seem emotionally draining for some, there is one man who makes it all look simple, and
that man goes by the name of Eric Olszewski. As 5:30 a.m. strikes the clock, most of America is
still snoozing except for me. I am sorting mail at the Post Office. As the sun still sleeps, I spend
my time loathing in silence while scanning incoming parcels to be sorted to their designated
routes. The day seems to be dull. When I am about finished with scanning, my eyes meet the
clock. It is around 7:00 a.m., and the sun is starting to wake up. Just then, I hear the creaking
sound of the double doors swinging open. Before I see him, I can feel his presence. My eyes
gaze to the opening doors, and then I see him. He is striding in with his long, stringy, sun kissed
hair flowing as the wind hits it. He is geared in the postal blues and ready to seize the day. With
eyes still heavy with sandbags, he says in his rugged, southern accent, good morning, Kristen.
How are you? I notice his crooked smile just below his blonde mustache and matching goatee. It
is contagious. I adjust my posture, smile and reply, good morning, Eric. I m fine, and you? He
lets me know that he is doing great as well, and as I continue my work, I truly feel as if it will be
a great day. What most people do not know about Eric is that he is not the type of guy to say good
morning and then exclude himself to the world. In fact, I noticed this feature about him as I was
struggling one day at work. Walkingaround to each mail carrier s case, I began picking up some
empty tubs. However, I was struggling as the tubs started to escape my grip. Just then, I hear a
muffled chuckle. I look up and see Eric; he had paused his work to focus on me. He then begins
to walk towards me and says playfully, Here. Let me show you an easier way to do that. I then
watched as Eric gracefully carried the tubs to their holders, and I listened as he told me how to
hold them in a way that would make them easier to carry. I thanked him, to which he replied,
anytime , with a wink and a

Satire In Modern Society
Beyond the humor, satire can foreshadow many aspect of the issues that are currently happening in
the modern society. Humans see satire as a form of perception, and within that perception is irony,
humor, and exaggeration of many events currently happening. Furthermore, satire a tool to
challenge and expose many popular ideas, and events. Satireis presented through many topics,
events that had and is happening. Nevertheless, satire can persuade humans to change their
opinions on diverse topics, and their ideal image of something. For example, satire cartoons may
be humorous, but it can be a real eye opener, a great awakening for humans. Within the cartoons, it
gives a clear perspective and understanding of what they re trying to convey to

Cost Of Art Education
Pablo Picasso once said Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he
grows up. Think about this, when a child is young they are given crayons and paper to occupy
their time; mothers sing to their babies or play them classical music. From a young age we are
taught to create, and we really are all artists. We create until creation is deemed nonessential, and
the art projects we work into our everyday routine are demoted to electives. Funds for Education
have been cut in over 80% of U.S. schools in the last 10 years, and the first programs to leave are
often art education. Harvard President Drew Faust recently wrote. The same classes we as a nation
are deeming unnecessary are mandatory in countries that rank consistently... Show more content on

School System needs to stop defunding art programs because art is important in our history.
Without art, we would have less interpretation of our history. In any history class we study the
artists of each time period and how they interpreted their times. Most of what artists do is tell
stories, they help us make sense of the world. It can connect us to the past, present and the future.
Throughout history our greatest minds have often merged discovery and art, the geniuses we learn
about in history aren t only math matachins or scientists, but artists on top of that. Einstein stressed
the importance of having a creative mind, once saying I m enough of an artist to draw freely from
my imagination, which I think is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited.
Imagination encircles the world. Without art we would have a much more narrow view of our past,
and future generations will have a narrow view of our current events. Sure, you could say that we
still have a history without art; but without photos, paintings, and sculptures would we really fully
grasp our past? By cutting our generation off from art education we are cutting off future
generations from learning too. Without artists to document our history, our great grandchildren will
be without that connection to what s going on today. While art connects us to the past, and the
world s history, it connects us to so much

Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disorder Case Study
Gastro oesophageal reflux disorder (GORD) is a common medical condition, which results in an
abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the oesophagus1. GORD normally occurs because of the
ring of muscle at the bottom of the oesophagus weakening2. The most common symptoms of
GORD include heartburn and regurgitation. In this clinical trial, participants have non erosive
GORD, which does not have any visible oesophageal injury1, however non erosive GORD can
progress to erosive disease in susceptible patients3. Recommended treatment for non erosive
GORD is stated as offering patients a full dose proton pump inhibitor (PPI) for 4 or 8 weeks4.
NICE states that if symptoms recur after the initial treatment, offer a PPI at the lowest dose possible

The participants will be taking one capsule at the same time everyday throughout the 4 weeks,
and will be asked to record any time they experience heartburn symptoms into an e diary. This
study will be conducted in China, with the overall participation time being 11 weeks5.
Participants will make 4 visits to the health clinic, and will also be contacted by phone 5 10 days
after their last dosage for a follow up assessment. To be enrolled onto this clinical trial, patients
must be able to identify their main symptom as a burning feeling in the mid epigastric area and
/or chest area and they must have had a history of GORD for 6 months or longer prior to
Screening with GORD symptoms that were responsive to acid suppressive therapy5.
Furthermore, they must have episodes of heartburn for 4 or more days during the 7 days prior
to Day 1, as recorded in their diary. This clinical trial is a randomised, placebo controlled as well
as being a double blind study, which reduces the likelihood of prescriber bias. There are no
ethical issues involved with this trial, as participants must be aged over 18, and there is a large
sample size of 200 participants, which increases the significance and reliability of the results. In
my opinion, there could have been a larger sample size, as compared to this study, another trial

Corona Borealis Research Paper
For this essay, I chose the constellation Corona Borealis. It was one of 48 constellations listed by
Ptolemy, an astronomer of the second century. Its Latin name is translated as Northern Crown , due
to its crown like shape. The brightest star in the constellation is Alpha Coronae Borealis, and is a
magnitude 2.2 star. Other notable stars in the constellation include R Coronae Borealis, a yellow
supergiant, and T Coronae Borealis, also known as the Blaze Star, which is a recurrent supernova.
Corona Borealis covers 179 square degrees (0.433% of the sky), placing it 73rd in size of the 88
recognized constellations. It is positioned in the Northern Celestial Hemisphere, and is surrounded

Literary Review of Rabbit Run by John Updike Essays
Literary Review of Rabbit Run by John UpdikeJohn Updike s novel, Rabbit, Run, is about a man
named Harry Rabbit Angstrom. Rabbit is a brainless guy whose career as a high school
basketball star peaked at age 18. In his wife s view, he was, before their early, hasty marriage,
already drifting downhill. We meet him for the first time in this novel, when he is 22, and a
salesman in the local department store. Married to the second best sweetheart of his high school
years, he is the father of a preschool son and husband to an alcoholic wife. We are at ground zero

It s a well traveled premise for a novel, but executed and polished to a hilt. As we see Rabbit
Angstrom struggle to keep apace with his given life, we are meant to see the social milieu that
he lives in. Readers do get an acute sense of time and place, but what of it? Not that all fiction
should strive for the Meaning of Life, but the feeling you get after reading Rabbit, Run is that of
caffeine rush which you know will fade. And it does. I don t mean to slight Updike s legacy he
is one of the best writers we have in the States. And read as a tetralogy, the Rabbit books do
encapsulate four decades of Americana with a sprawling and lyrical sweep. It truly is an
accomplishment. As an individual novel, Rabbit, Run is emotionally involving and a hell of a
good read. But it moves us tantalizingly close to showing us what literary greatness is, then
ultimately leaves us short. Has life ever seemed to much for you? Do you sometimes just want
get away from it all? Well, here is a man that does it all for you, Mr. Harry Rabbit Angstrom. He is
the man for running away from just about anything that is a conflict for him. Updike investigates
this unfortunate soul of the suburban middle class with the use of many similes, metaphors, motifs,
and imagery. In Rabbit, Run, John Updike s simple language brings reality to the central character
of Harry and his boredom and disgust with his present life. In his early

Cultural Relativism And Its Impact On The World
Cultural relativism is the idea that all cultures are equal and no one is better than another. This way
of thinking was created and elaborated on by three main philosophers. Franz Boas, Alain Locke and
Robert Lowie were nineteenth century philosophers who shaped the ideas on concepts of Cultural
Relativism. These three men focused on the idea that one cannot judge other cultures because they
only see through eyes that have been influenced by their surroundings. They used relativist ideas
that existed already and expressed them on the world and the many different cultures that exist in it.
They created a mainly atheistic viewpoint in which the idea of a central moral truth and a higher
power was discounted. Only the people within a culturecould create moral codes and laws for
themselves. Franz Boas was born on July 19, 1858 in Minden, Germany. Boas grew up in a well
educated family and was encouraged to follow his own beliefs and think for himself. From a very
young age, Franz Boas was interested in natural history and studied it throughout his years of
schooling. He continued his studies and graduated with a degree in physics, even though he
considered himself more of a geographer than a physicist. This interest in geography is what drove
him to delve deeper into the ideas of cultural difference and led to the beginnings of cultural
relativism. Through his studies, Franz Boas became drawn to anthropology, the study of
humankind. He became interested in

There is no dispute the effects that lead has on people, especially children and pregnant women. It
is a cumulative toxin and the effects can be found in multiple body systems, such as the brain,
liver, kidneys, and bones. In young children, large doses can lead to coma or death, and, more
commonly, smaller amounts will cause learning disabilities and lowered IQ, along with other
ailments such as hypertension and immunotoxicity (World Health Organization). Because of these
devastating health effects, lead is no longer allowed to be used in paint, which was very common

In a narrative film, a plot is considered all visible and audible elements present in a film, in
essence the film in its entirety including nondiegetic images. In The Wizard of Oz, the plot
begins with Dorothy (Judy Garland), a young farm girl from Kansas who dreams of escaping to
somewhere over the rainbow without troubles and torment for her dog Toto from a horrible
neighbour Miss Gulch (Margaret Hamilton). During a tornado she is hit on the head and is
transported to the World of Oz where she meets characters transformed from her Kansas life at

Oz is shot in bright and vibrant colours, which pertains to the idea of a magical land that appears
very opposed to the dull and colourless real world of Kansas, assisting on taking the viewer on the
journey over the rainbow . This goal oriented plot in The Wizard of Ozfollows a pattern of
development that encourages the viewer to expect Dorothy to reach her desired goal. The viewer
then sees each action of Dorothy s to be a progress of this desire to go home to Kansas.
The film is brought to a climax when the Dorothy and her friends return to visit the Wizard after
destroying the Wicked Witch of the West, of which he had requested. During this scene it is
revealed that the Wizard is in fact a fraud, an ordinary but clever man who although as no powers,
still fulfils the expectations of the story. He gives Scarecrow, Tinman and the Cowardly Lion the
answers they seek by giving them the self confidence to recognise they had the qualities which they
were looking for all along and he presents them with some token external symbols to represent this.
In the final scenes and formal resolution of the film, which is shot in sepia tones creating a
parallelism with Kansas on the opening scene, Dorothy attains her goal of returning home, waking
up in her own bedroom surrounded by friends and family from her real life, therefore fulfilling the

Annotated Bibliography On Database Security
What is a database? According to our book, it s an organized collection of logically related data.
The information collected in a database can be effortlessly administered and accessed. However,
with each database there is a concern of security. According to our book, the goal of database
security is to protect and prevent data from unintentional or deliberate threats to its integrity and
accessibility. The databaseenvironment has grown more complex, with distributed databases
located on client/server architectures and personal computers as well as mainframes. Access to data
has become more open through the Internet and corporate intranets and from mobile computing
devices. As a result, managing data securityhas become more difficult and time consuming. The
data collected and distributed in every organization is a very important resource; therefore, all
personnel in the organization must be aware of the security threats present and the measure to take
to prevent data breach or leak. Data leak can occur unintentionally or intentionally. For example, if
the employee is being careless with sensitive data and leaving it in the open for others to access it
this would be an unintentional data leak. An intentional leak would be when a disgruntled
employee gives sensitive information to other competitors. The responsibility for database
protection goes to the database administration. It s their task to develop the procedures and policies
to avert data breach. The database

Gothic Doubling In Assassin s Creed
Gothic Doubling in Assassin s Creed: How Altair Represents the Hopes and Fears of Ezio
Today, I have more questions than answers. This is why I have come so far: to find clarity
(Ubisoft 1:38 1:48). Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, main protagonist of Ubisoft s
2011 video game Assassin s Creed: Revelations, yearns for the wisdom supposedly left behind at
Masyaf Castle by the revolutionary Assassin Mentor, Altair Ibn La Ahad. Ezio desires Altair s
knowledge and wisdom to learn more about his Brotherhood s history, goals, struggles, and more
specifically, his own purpose. In the extended official E3 trailer for Assassin s Creed: Revelations,
Altair appears to Ezio during a battle at Masyaf. Altair has been dead for centuries,... Show more

The trailer opens to Ezio being held captive at the snowy castle of Masyaf by the Templar
Knights. Ezio is an experienced assassin who achieved the title of Master by reaching the peak
of his training. The trailer flashes back to his journey to Masyaf to demonstrate Ezio s resilience
while displaying his struggles, traveling through deserts and sailing through seas, to reach his
destination. Ezio mentions in his narration that his goal is to locate a hidden library, A center
full of invaluable wisdom. Ezio is in pursuit of the knowledge that his predecessor, Altair, left
behind. This common Gothic element is discussed by Professor Ewan Kirkland from the
University of Brighton in his paper on Gothic videogames: John Fletcher s discussion of female
Gothic cinema opens with the claim: The search for origins, especially when it takes the form of
reconstructing a hidden or forbidden scene is one of the most seductive of all narratives (112).
This seductive narrative is parallel to Ezio s journey as he is searching for a hidden library which
contains knowledge and wisdom from his order s past. In this fictional universe, The Assassins
have been at war with the Templar Order for most of known human history. The Templars contrast
the ideals of freedom held by the Assassins. The Templars wish to create a perfect world through
the order and control of weaker individuals.

An Argument Against Atheism Based On The Existence Of Evil
William Rowe tries to provide answers for three interrelated questions. 1) Are there arguments for
atheism based on the existence of evil that may rationally justify someone in being an atheist? 2)
How can a theist defend this position against the argument for atheism based on the existence of
evil? 3) What position should the informed atheist take concerning the rationality of their belief?
Rowe makes sure the reader known what kind of evil is being dealt with or is being used in the
argument which is the central concept of the whole argument. He asserts that in order to develop
the argument for atheism based on the existence of evil; it is necessary to look at some sort of evil
that out world contains in great quantity. He states that this abundance of evil is the suffering
humans and animals.
Rowe sets out the problem by provide an argument that he believes can be used to rationally justify
someone being an atheist, William Rowe states the argument goes as follow:
1. There exist instances of intense suffering which an omnipotent, omniscient being could have
prevented without thereby losing some greater good or permitting some evil equally bad or worse
2. An omniscient, wholly good being would prevent the occurrence of any intense suffering it
could, unless it could not do so without there by losing some greater good or permitting some evil
equally bad or worse
Therefore
3. There does not exist an omnipotent, omniscient, wholly good being.

Essay On Feature Extraction
Feature plays a very important role in the area of image processing. Different feature extraction
techniques are applied on different types of images to get features that will be useful in classifying
and recognition of images. Features describes the important information of images that helps to
classify images correctly and remarkably reduce the dimension of the images. In pattern recognition
and image processing, feature extraction is a special form of dimensionality reduction. The main
goal of feature extraction is to obtain the most relevant information from the original data and
represent that information in a lower dimensional space. Effective feature extraction from various

Figure 2.1: Finding decimal value for central pixel using LBP
LBP has some limitations that reduces its application fields. LBP is not rotation invariant and the
size of the features increases exponentially with the number of neighbors which leads to an increase
of computational complexity in terms of time and space.
2.2.1 Noise Adaptive Binary Pattern (NABP)
Noise adaptive binary pattern [12] is a modification of local binary pattern. Though LPB is
powerful in extraction local features, it has a lack of discriminative power and sensitive to
noise. LBP may produce same pattern for big difference and same difference of the central pixel
with neighboring pixel. LBP is also affected by noise. So, a modification is proposed on LBP to
face fluctuation of intensity and noise in image. They proposed a threshold (square root of central
pixel + central pixel). If neighboring pixel value is greater than the pixel then the pattern value is 1
otherwise 0. Figure 2.2 illustrates calculation of NABP.

Misinterpretation Of Law
Representing oneself as a lawyer in court is known as self representation or self litigation. This
practice is not advised as it can lead to more problems than advantages for the accused.
Disadvantages may include unfair treatment in the court of law, misunderstanding due to minimal
or no legal background, and a greater possibility that the court system will suffer in the process. It
is important to be aware that most individuals who decide to participate in this practice do this out
of great desperation and lack of money (Grant, 2015). This creates panic and uneasiness which
reflects how they portray themselves in the courtroom. For this reason, advocating should be strictly
done by lawyers. According to the Ottawa Citizen, the accused may... Show more content on

This is greatly due to the fact that this is cost free for the accused. This may seem like an
advantage at first, but in the end it is definitely not. When litigants choose to represent themselves
in the court of law they are given a great amount of responsibility. They are expected to manage
their time wisely, so that they have enough time to understand the law, interpret it, and organize it
into an effective and efficient way that fits their case (Feldstein, 2016, p.9). All legal documents
and important information relevant to the case must be brought forth in order to achieve the
desired outcome. If they do not understand the material, bring insignificant information and
evidence to court then this becomes an enormous disadvantage to them and to the entire court
process. In regards to the court process, there is a large amount of money that is distributed
between court clerks, court reporters, judges, and courtrooms in general (Makin, 2012). Thus, if
self representatives do not come prepared to court, this wastes a lot of time and money for
everyone involved. This practice creates an immense amount of tension that would not happen if a
lawyer was in charge. Self litigation places a great burden on not only the court system,

Symbolism In The Piano Lesson
The Piano Lesson is a play by August Wilson set in Pittsburgh in the 1930s. The play focuses on
a piano owned by the Charles family. The piano is currently in Bernice s house until her brother
Boy Willie comes into town and tells her about the plan he has to sell the piano. This plan causes
Boy Willie and Bernice s true feelings about the pianoto come to light. Through this disagreement
about the piano it is revealed that Boy Willie and Bernice have conflicting views about whether the
piano represents familyor wealth. It is already known by the whole family that Bernice refuses to
part with the piano, and Boy Willie s new plan for the piano does not change her mind. Bernice
believes that the piano symbolizes her family s history and the struggle that they... Show more

He sees that piano as a way to increase his wealth and to make something out of himself which is
something his parents could not do. This is seen when Boy Willie starts explaining how he is
not going to be like his dad after Doaker and Boy Willie finish telling him the history of the
piano. Boy Willie says, Boy Willie: He spent/ his whole life farming on somebody else s land. I
ain t/ gonna do that. See, he couldn t do no better (46; 1.2). He continues to say, Boy Willie:... he
ain t had nothing to build on. His/ daddy ain t had nothing to give him. The only thing my daddy
had to give me was that piano (46; 1.2). Boy Willie sees the piano as his ticket to becoming a
success. He would finally be able to achieve his goal of not being stuck like his parents were if
Bernice would forget the sentimental value and let him sell the piano. Boy Willie argues that the
land that he plans to buy with the money from the piano will give back to him so that he can
keep building off of and making a profit from it, but instead of doing this the piano just sits there

Pros And Cons Of Burglary
is fenced in, any other structure inside the fence is considered an extension of the dwelling, even
if those buildings are not used as living quarters. If there is, for example, a farmhouse, a barn, and

dwelling even though they are not used as living quarters and, if a defendant breaks and enters into
the barn or the tool shed with the intent of committing a felony, he can be convicted of burglary.

In such cases, one party s breaking and entering into the other party s living space at night with the
intent of committing a felony will constitute burglary.
Many jurisdictions have also eliminated the element of dwelling from the burglary definition and
consider burglary the entering onto any premises with the intent to commit a felony therein.
As we have said, the breaking and entering must be done at night in order to qualify as burglary.
However, the breaking and entering do not have to be done on the same night. That is to say, the
defendant can create the opening in the dwelling on one night and then use that opening to gain
entry on another night. Please remember, however, that, as we said before, there must be a causal
relationship between the breaking and entering so that, even though the breaking and entering can
occur on different nights, the breaking must be the means that the defendant uses to gain access to
the dwelling.
Many jurisdictions have also eliminated the element of night from the burglary definition and
consider burglary the entering onto any premises at any time with the intent to commit a felony

The American Express ( Axp )
Background
In May 15 American Express (AXP) launched a coalition loyalty program called Plenti. Under
coalition loyalty programs, members can earn and redeem points by shopping at participating
merchants (e.g., Exxon, Macys, Rite Aid and ATT.) The program helps consumers to earn rewards
faster and lead to a higher level of engagement with a program which provides merchants an
opportunity to attract new customers and run cross promotional campaigns. However, the biggest
challenge in launching the program was signing up merchants and building an economic case for
shifting away from proprietary to collaborative program.
AXP was in negotiations with Rite Aid to join the program. Under their old loyalty program
(Wellness+), Rite Aid issued reward dollars (+UPs).The dollars could be used for purchase within
their stores over next two weeks, while in Plenti program the points (1 point = 1 cents) are valid
for three years and can be redeemed at any participating merchant. Rite Aid was concerned that if
they joined Plenti, customers will continue to earn points at Rite Aid but with more redemption
options and longer validity, the redemptions will be skewed towards other merchants especially the
Grocer Partner. In effect, they will be subsidizing a loyalty program for the Grocer.
Challenge
As part of the negotiations, our team was tasked to identify and propose Performance Guarantees to
address Rite Aid s concerns.
With no data and uncertainty about other merchants who will

The Psychosocial Effects Of Breast Cancer
Breast cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer in American women and around 12
percent of women will develop invasive breast cancer in their lifetime.1 Patients have the choice of
5 different types of mastectomy: total mastectomy with removal of breast tissue without lymph
node removal, modified radical mastectomy where the entire breastand axillary lymph nodes are
removed, radical mastectomy where entire breast and chest muscles are removed, partial
mastectomy frequently referred to as breast conservative surgery where only cancerous tissue is
removed, or subcutaneous mastectomy where breast tissue is removed with conservation of the
nipple and areola.2 The standard of care in the United States for women who have had mastectomy
secondary to breast cancer is to receive a breast reconstruction.2 On top of a common but
devastating diagnosis of breast cancer with fears of facing months of chemotherapy and radiation,
most women also make the decision to beat the cancer with a mastectomy and reconstruction.
The topic I am choosing for my literature review is the psychosocial effects after breast
reconstruction in women who have chosen mastectomy as an intervention for breast cancer. I have
always been very interested in going into the plastic surgery field when I become a provider and I
believe researching this topic can help plastic surgeons and their staff provide appropriate patient

THE PUNIC WARS
During the 3rd and 2nd centuries B.C., three wars were fought between Rome and Carthage. The
name given to describe the wars Punic, is a divided word from the Latin and Greek words for
Phoenician. The city of Carthage, situated in what is now Tunisia in North Africa, was founded in
814 B.C. by the Phoenicians. The first two wars were the longest 23 years and 17 years, separated
by an interval of 23 years. The last and third war lasted only three years. It started 52 years after
the end of the second Punic War. All three wars were won by Rome, which automatically emerged
as the greatest military power in the Mediterranean Sea. The hostility of Carthage impelled
Rome to build up its large army and create a strong navy just like the one Carthage had. Strong

By 265 B.C., Carthage was the richest and the most advanced city in the region, as well as its
prominent naval power. Through Carthage had clashed forcefully with several other powers in the
region, notably Greece, its relations with Rome were historically friendly, and its cities had signed

The Pleasure Of Eating By Wendell Berry Analysis
An essay can be determined as effective or ineffective by answering a few simple questions. If
an author achieves his purpose, appropriately relates to his specific audience, and has credibility
for what he is writing about, the essay is more than likely going to be effective. The essay being
critiqued is The Pleasure of Eating by Wendell Berry which was published in 1989. As a farmer,
the author wants his audience to recognize that there is more to eating than just eating. Those who
purchase food from grocery stores and restaurants are not only consumers, but eaters as well. Berry

Everyone has that one song they can listen to over and over again. There are various reasons
people press the repeat button, whether it be the sound of the singer s voice, the quality of their
musicianship, or their heartfelt lyrics and the story they tell. The song Hands Down , by Dashboard
Confessional tells the story of a day in the life of lead singer, Chris Carrabba, in high school.
Carrabba has said that this song is about the best day he has ever had, and introduces it as such at
concerts. Dashboard Confessional effectively uses paradox, irony, imagery, and repetition, to enable

The boy is hoping for something as simple as a kiss, and this simple action would please him so
much that it would kill him. The boy is willing to give up everything in order to experience this
kiss and end his life on a happy note.
Another literary device used in Hands Down is irony. During the middle of the song, this line sets
the mood for the story and the presumed expectations of a teenage relationship.
The words are hushed, let s not get busted.
Just lay entwined here, undiscovered,
Safe in here from all the stupid questions:
Hey did you get some?
Man, that is so dumb.
Stay quiet, stay near, stay close, they can t hear, so we can get some.
In most relationships sex is an essential and expected part, even for teenagers. Many teen
relationships are subjected to the scrutiny of their peers on whether or not they are getting some .
This stanza is ironic because in the beginning it says how dumb the questions about getting some
are, yet at the end it talks about doing just that. At the very end of the song, Dashboard uses
imagery to describe the little things that you will always remember, and the one special night that
was meant to be ordinary, yet turned out to be so incredibly wonderful.
Hands down, this is the best day I will ever remember.
I ll always remember the sound of the stereo,

watching. Though, I am in a film class my taste buds haven t truly developed. I didn t
understand the true nature in which it was shot nor did I understand the plot very well.
Disliking the movie was difficult due to the fact I was trying admittedly hard to understand
Gregg Tolland and the concept of the film. It was written very well but in my opinion it was
executed wrong. There were many parts of the movie that I felt dragged on and were put in
there as fluff whereas, the parts that needed elaborating were cut short. Such as, the scene of
Kane s mother giving him away where they could have showed her reasoning to do so coupled
with, a flashback of Kane s relationship with his father to establish a basis for his persistent
attempts to convince the mother otherwise. As well as, a glimpse in his teenage years and why
he wanted to become the head of the Inquirer, moreover, the odd choice of camera angles really
took me by surprise. It was difficult to follow what Gregg Tolland was trying to portray. To
emphasize, the musical scene where the camera seemed as if it was swaying back and forth and I
didn t understand why they showed Kane dancing in the reflection on the window while
highlighting Mr. Bernstein and Leland. With all these faults I found within the movie I do have to
give a round

larger than life IMAX Essay
1. Discuss IMAX s business level strategy to date and proposed changes. (10 points)
Products differentiation
The large format movie system gives customers unique visual and audio movie watching experience
that cannot be found in conventional movie theaters. IMAX is also differentiated by its library of
films and locations. IMAX located itself in institutional environment and commercial multiplexes to
target wider audiences include family, students, and tourists at different time during the day by
screening its own movies and other studios movies. Speaking of the technologies, IMAX films

IMAX is achieving economies of scale, the more movies released in IMAX format, the more the
IMAX system installed are utilized. IMAX is also updating their technologies and making
improvement to lower the costs of operations, therefore the learning curve cost advantages act as a
barrier to entry. The barrier to enter this industry is high.
Threats of substitutes
Live plays, sport events, TV programs (big screen TV, cable, and satellite), the internet, DVD, home
theater projection and sound system are all alternatives of IMAX movie for consumers to entertain
themselves in a different way. These substitutes also prevent IMAX from raising the ticket price.
The threats of substitutes are high.
Suppliers
The suppliers are vendors who provide the critical elements involved in IMAX s projectors and
camera systems, film making talents (actors, post production workers), other studios
(Hollywood, Disney, SKG DreamWorks etc.), and movie distributers (theater chain). The
suppliers power is low because by releasing movies in IMAX format and opening more IMAX
screens will increase the box office revenue for all the parties involved. IMAX does not pay top
stars to make movies. They pay the actors whose median salary is $17 per hour. IMAX has most
its post production work done by its wholly owned subsidiary. IMAX purchases its equipment
components from vendors with

Red Cabbage Ph Indicator Lab
Science Essay:
Red Cabbage PH Indicator
Did you know that, instead having to buy expensive PH indicators, you can just use the juice
from red cabbages? In this experiment, I will see how red cabbage can go from side dish to science.
My hypothesis is that the color of red cabbage will change color based on a reaction with different
substances to indicate whether it is an acid or base. According to the page madsci.org, red cabbage
contains a pigment called anthocyanin. this pigment changes its structure and its reaction to light
depending on the acidity of its environment. For this experiment, I only needed a few typical
household items. This is a list of everything I used:
One small, red cabbage
Cheese grater
Boiling water

It is important that the liquid is allowed to cool to room temperature so that residual heat doesn t
affect the PH readings. Now I have a homemade PH Indicator!
Using an eyedropper, I added a few drops of the indicator into each of my substances and viewed
the color changes through the clear plastic cups. I used the chart below to determine each
substances PH level by matching its colour to the chart below. The lower the PH level the more
acidic, so a violet red color is highly acidic; whereas a yellow color is highly basic.
I tested a few of the most common substances used in daily life: milk, soda, lemon juice and
bleach. My results are the following: In my first test, I tried testing the PH level of milk. I first
thought that milk would be basic, but after dripping some of the cabbage mixture into it, I
discovered that it was light blue, which means that it was actually slightly acidic! After researching
this, I found that this is true because milk contains lactic acid, which is responsible for the sour
flavor of sourdough breads.

of this is August 24th in Shrapnel and Semaphore whereas Bill stumbles upon a decomposed Turk

the humour in the situation; Bill amusingly names the dead Turk a common British name Johnny

True Freedom Or Starvation Blues. What Does It Mean To
True Freedom or Starvation Blues What does it mean to actually be free? Does it mean
sacrificing your basic rights? Does it mean being overshadowed by fear every single day? Afraid
to vote? Afraid to walk down the street? Afraid to be shot or brutally strung up for thousands to
see? Afraid just because of the color of your skin? Unfortunately, after the Civil War, this was the
kind of freedom awaiting the newly freed African Americans in the New South. In Richard Wright s
Black Boy , a detailed memoir of his childhood in the early twentieth century, this new type of
freedom is subtly introduced in the beginning and thoroughly developed throughout the book. The
horrible situations and crude treatment Wright witnesses and experiences... Show more content on

When comparing country musician Jimmi Rogers song to blues musician Bill Broonzy s song,
Broonzy s Starvation Blues is a more accurate representation of Richard Wright s memoir Black
Boy in many different ways. The first point of comparison is the intended audience and purpose.
The New South was a time of change for everyone: mainly pertaining to the Jim Crow laws
previously explained. While these laws were supposed to create separate yet equal conditions,
they unfortunately condemned African Americans to inferior facilities and heinous treatment.
The newly freed people of the South found themselves unemployed, drowning in poverty, unable
to pay rent, and unable to keep food on the table for their families. This was not what the African
Americans had in mind when they were told that they would be held separate yet equal in
society, and many of them wanted to voice their opinions about the false hope of equality
instilled in their minds. They wanted to share the degrading situations they faced every day. They
wanted all of America to hear of the struggles they were still antagonized by even though they
were supposed to be free and equal. Richard Wright s Black Boy and Bill Broonzy s Starvation
Blues both achieved this desire to be heard. Through written accounts and musical lyrics, Wright
and Broonzy shared their disheartening experiences to America showing everyone the reality of
separate but equal . The second point of comparison is

How The Cold War Changed The Emergence Of Marvel Comics
The Superhero comics and storylines has always been an integral part of the world s cultural
history and the combination of historical events with fantasy themes has made them irresistible to
comic book readers of various generations.
Starting from the Great Depression in Europe, characters like Superman and Batman laid the
foundation for the liberal superhero tradition which is still prevalent. That was followed by the
Second World War where the superheroes assumed far greater roles the fighter for their country
and a source of inspiration for the Americans back home. This was also the beginning of patriotic
propaganda in the storylines which became a trend in the wartime editions of major superhero
comic books.
The end of World War II was not good news for the publishers as it served as their primary
storyline for a very long time, and as a result, the focus shifted to horror stories which were
designed to appeal to the more mature audience. But, the beginning of the Cold War saw an attack
against the comic book industry by Dr. Fredric Wertham and the United States government on the

The stories were created to depict the tension and political struggle of the on going Cold War
which was reflected through the anxiety of the superheroes for their country. This era was also
famous for the introduction of the flawed superheroes who were much more human and as a result,
more relatable to the general audience. The storylines were not only restricted to large than life
characters and as a result, a lot of social issues were captured by the artists of this generation
through the comic books. Thus, established superheroes like Batman and Green Lantern started
tackling social issues like gang violence and drugs where were considered to be taboo till that

Nature Vs Nurture Personality Research
Is your personality nature or nurture? Personality is the sum of characteristics which make an
individual unique. An ongoing debate about personality is whether it is personality is inherited and
developed through the environment we live in. There are numerous theories suggested to support
both sides of the debate. The trait theory believes personality is innate and in our genes; therefore
supports the nature and physiological approach to personality. This theoretical approach states that
characteristics are stable and enduring, which enable behaviour to be predicted. Psychologists
believe everyone consists of these traits, although to various degrees. Trait theory emphasises

Social learning theory involves psychologist Bandura who believes we learn our behaviour as a
result of observing behaviour from models and reinforcement. The developed of vicarious
conditioning occurs which states that emotional responses occur through observational; an
example could include learning to become aggressive after a valid referee decision has gone
against the player by watching other players on the pitch do the same. Bandura proposed 4 main
stages involves in observational learning. The first stage involves attention, this could involve
watching a tennis players stance and bouncing the ball before they serve. The next stage is
retention, which consists of the viewer remembering that the tennis player closes their eyes and
looks relaxed and confident and therefore associated this with winning. Then, motor reproduction
occurs, where the individual imitates the behaviour. Finally, motivational response occurs; this
consists of, the individual repeating the same behaviour if he wins a game and feels more
confident after proceeding to do the behaviour. The social learning theory consist of various
drawbacks, of which include, it is unreliable to predict behaviour. In addition specific behaviour
may occur in a specific situation but appear differently in another environment. For example, a
player may be aggressive and outgoing in football, due to the nature of the game and the role he
players; although may be quiet and timid off the pitch. A further criticism is that it is reductionist
and ignores the possibility of the trait

Postnatal Depression Is A Clinical Depression That Lasts
Postnatal depression is a clinical depression that lasts for about a month (Sigelman Rider, 2015)
and symptoms of postnatal depression include parents being irritable, lethargic, tired, insensitive
and generally distant towards their children (Field, 2010; Liu et al., 2016; Ramchandani, Stein,
Evans, O Connor ALSPAC study team, 2005; Wachs, Black Engle, 2009). Prenatal depression can
also be a sign that the motherwill experience postnatal depression (Parsons, Young, Rochat,
Kringelbacht Stein, 2012).

Malnutrition in infants do not allow the brain to develop accordingly and at a pace within the
normal ranger causing the child to be immature for his/her age and have problems behaving
accordingly. Another research study by Verbeek et al. (2012), however, contradicts this and has
found that postnatal or postpartum depression does not influence behaviour at all but that it only
affects children psychologically.
Maternal postnatal depression has a long term impact on children. The mothers behaviour and
mental state during a child s infant years is important to the child s development and behaviour as
they grow older (Ramchandani et al., 2005) and the likelihood of a child becoming depressed as
he/she grows up automatically increases, (Murray et al., 2011), if the child has a mother who
experienced depression in the postnatal period and it increases a child s risk of being diagnosed
with any other psychological disorder. This is according to a study conducted by Verkuijl at al.
(2014) in Soweto, South Africa which set out to determine the effects of maternal postnatal
depression in children 10 years of age.
Postnatal depression has no in between, so mothers are either overprotective and overcompensating
for the negative emotions they experience after giving birth or they are cold and distant toward
their infants.
Postnatal depression involves parents being less sensitive

The Crying Game By Neil Jordan And Loaded By Christos...
ВЎВ§Texts both inform us of the social identities available to us, and problematize them; both
police our social selves and subvert them.ВЎВЁ
Both texts, The Crying Game by Neil Jordan and Loaded by Christos Tsiolkas, use
characters within the discourse to project social identities that have been
problematized due to social constraints. Throughout this essay, I will focus on
sexuality, as this type of social identity has been depicted as a central theme in both
texts. The characters from the texts work to, police and subvert their own sexual
identities within their social milieu.
ВЎВ§To claim an identity as a homosexual is to claim a place in a system of social

In contrast, the character of Dil in The Crying Game, was portrayed as a transvestite.
Dil is a man that functions in society as a woman. To encourage DilВЎВ¦s sexual identity
as female, the film failed to reveal Dil as a transvestite until the latter half of the film,

Sexual identities have been problematized due to social constraints. Deconstructionist
theories have given motive as to why such sexual identities have been seen as

Essay about Tsar s Survival of the 1905 Revolution
Tsar s Survival of the 1905 Revolution
In 1905 tsarism suffered a dreadful battering, Tsar Nicolas III had to cope with opposition from all
sides. The workers and the army were unhappy with their working conditions; they wanted
minimum wage and more rights. The peasants wanted more land and the liberals wanted a better
political system that was more democratic and gave them more say in how the country was run. He
had to contend with numerous strikes, uprisings, assassinations and mutinies. It is surprising,
therefore than the Tsar managed to remain in his throne throughout 1905.
Lack of co ordination of his opponents played a large part in ensuring the survival of Tsar during

The Tsars guards open fired on the marchers, killing around 200 people, including women and
children. This tragic event is often thought of as the catalyst that started the Revolution; it damaged
the parental image of the Tsar and evoked a wave of protest.
Russia was not united in her attempt to change the government, the peasants, workers liberals,
soldiers, students… did not work together to co ordinate their agitation on the Tsar. The
groups all had different motives and aims; the workers and soldiers wanted better working
conditions while the peasants were only focused on gaining more land, had no comprehension of
the world of politics and thus did not care about the running of the country. In contrast the educated
liberal bourgeois understood that the current system was failing Russia. They could see how
Russia lagged behind the rest of the world politically, economically and technologically; it was the
liberals who made the monarchy feel uneasy.
In Source 2, Trotsky says that the liberals backed away from the revolution exactly at the moment
when it became clear that to shake tsarism would not be enough, it must be overthrown. Had the
liberals remained consistent in their demand for change and united together with the workers then
perhaps they would have succeeded in

is a confrontation between two powers where neither directly engages the other. This frequently

The Security Frame Essay
1. A issue defining frame can be classified as a frame for illegal immigrants, illegal aliens, illegals,
undocumented workers, undocumented immigrants, guest workers, temporary workers, amnesty,
and border security. Each frame defines a problem in its own way, but has a solution to be able to
solve the problem.
Illegal Immigrant It frames the problem as one about the illegal act of crossing the border without
papers. As a consequence, it fundamentally frames the problem as a legal one.
The Security Frame The government is held responsible to provide security for its citizens from
criminals and invaders.
Amnesty A pardoning of illegal action it implies that the fault lies with the immigrants, and it is a

The understanding of the immigration issue is to focus on the problem entirely on the immigrants
and the administrative agencies charged with overseeing immigration law. The reason is that these
are the only roles present in the Immigration Problem Frame. As a humanitarian crisis, the solution
could involve The UN or the Organization of American States. Framing this as just an immigration
problem prevents them from penetrating deeper into the issue. The current situation can also be
seen as civil rights problem. Immigrants are assimilated into the American system, but are forced to
live underground and in the shadows because of their legal status. They are denied ordinary civil
rights. The immigration problem framing overlooks their basic human dignity. In conclusion the
immigration problem frame blocks the understanding of this issue as a cheap labor issue. Framing

A Shopping Holiday Are you hungry for some healthful eats? Craving some good wine? Maybe
you re just hankering for a great deal. Then let s take a stroll down to the docks and pay a visit to
old Trader Joe. If you re lucky enough to find parking it seems most Trader Joes have rather
limited parking lots you re on your way to an adventure in grocery shopping. As you pass
through the magical sliding glass doors, you enter another world, a fascinating bustle of
excitement, smiles and wholesome nutrition. This self proclaimed Unique Grocery Store is
certainly unlike any other vendor of goods you will find. Compared to your ordinary Ralph s,
Von s or Costco, Trader Joe s offers its customers, and its employees, a fully realized theme
environment, not unlike what one might find at a store designed by the Walt Disney Company.
As you enter the brightly lit space guests are overwhelmed with a very welcoming, island
atmosphere: flowers, Tiki carvings, hand painted signage, and some stores even have aisles with
thatched roof awnings supported by heavy wooden poles to ensure you get the idea. This theming
and design takes customers out of the real world and into an over seas adventure. While walking
around the store, selecting your rather common loaves of bread or chicken breasts, you get the
drawing impression that you are on a very uncommon tropical vacation. In our fast paced, modern
environment here in Southern California, any respite from the madness is a welcomed

  • 2. The Importance Of Working At The Post Office Working at the Post Office is no walk in the park. In fact, this job requires excess amounts of strenuous activity as well as the ability to multitask, time manage, and problem solve. While it may seem emotionally draining for some, there is one man who makes it all look simple, and that man goes by the name of Eric Olszewski. As 5:30 a.m. strikes the clock, most of America is still snoozing except for me. I am sorting mail at the Post Office. As the sun still sleeps, I spend my time loathing in silence while scanning incoming parcels to be sorted to their designated routes. The day seems to be dull. When I am about finished with scanning, my eyes meet the clock. It is around 7:00 a.m., and the sun is starting to wake up. Just then, I hear the creaking sound of the double doors swinging open. Before I see him, I can feel his presence. My eyes gaze to the opening doors, and then I see him. He is striding in with his long, stringy, sun kissed hair flowing as the wind hits it. He is geared in the postal blues and ready to seize the day. With eyes still heavy with sandbags, he says in his rugged, southern accent, good morning, Kristen. How are you? I notice his crooked smile just below his blonde mustache and matching goatee. It is contagious. I adjust my posture, smile and reply, good morning, Eric. I m fine, and you? He lets me know that he is doing great as well, and as I continue my work, I truly feel as if it will be a great day. What most people do not know about Eric is that he is not the type of guy to say good morning and then exclude himself to the world. In fact, I noticed this feature about him as I was struggling one day at work. Walkingaround to each mail carrier s case, I began picking up some empty tubs. However, I was struggling as the tubs started to escape my grip. Just then, I hear a muffled chuckle. I look up and see Eric; he had paused his work to focus on me. He then begins to walk towards me and says playfully, Here. Let me show you an easier way to do that. I then watched as Eric gracefully carried the tubs to their holders, and I listened as he told me how to hold them in a way that would make them easier to carry. I thanked him, to which he replied, anytime , with a wink and a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Cost Of Art Education Pablo Picasso once said Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up. Think about this, when a child is young they are given crayons and paper to occupy their time; mothers sing to their babies or play them classical music. From a young age we are taught to create, and we really are all artists. We create until creation is deemed nonessential, and the art projects we work into our everyday routine are demoted to electives. Funds for Education have been cut in over 80% of U.S. schools in the last 10 years, and the first programs to leave are often art education. Harvard President Drew Faust recently wrote. The same classes we as a nation are deeming unnecessary are mandatory in countries that rank consistently... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... School System needs to stop defunding art programs because art is important in our history. Without art, we would have less interpretation of our history. In any history class we study the artists of each time period and how they interpreted their times. Most of what artists do is tell stories, they help us make sense of the world. It can connect us to the past, present and the future. Throughout history our greatest minds have often merged discovery and art, the geniuses we learn about in history aren t only math matachins or scientists, but artists on top of that. Einstein stressed the importance of having a creative mind, once saying I m enough of an artist to draw freely from my imagination, which I think is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world. Without art we would have a much more narrow view of our past, and future generations will have a narrow view of our current events. Sure, you could say that we still have a history without art; but without photos, paintings, and sculptures would we really fully grasp our past? By cutting our generation off from art education we are cutting off future generations from learning too. Without artists to document our history, our great grandchildren will be without that connection to what s going on today. While art connects us to the past, and the world s history, it connects us to so much ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux Disorder Case Study Gastro oesophageal reflux disorder (GORD) is a common medical condition, which results in an abnormal reflux of gastric contents into the oesophagus1. GORD normally occurs because of the ring of muscle at the bottom of the oesophagus weakening2. The most common symptoms of GORD include heartburn and regurgitation. In this clinical trial, participants have non erosive GORD, which does not have any visible oesophageal injury1, however non erosive GORD can progress to erosive disease in susceptible patients3. The participants will be taking one capsule at the same time everyday throughout the 4 weeks, and will be asked to record any time they experience heartburn symptoms into an e diary. This study will be conducted in China, with the overall participation time being 11 weeks5. Participants will make 4 visits to the health clinic, and will also be contacted by phone 5 10 days after their last dosage for a follow up assessment. There are no ethical issues involved with this trial, as participants must be aged over 18, and there is a large sample size of 200 participants, which increases the significance and reliability of the results. • 9. Literary Review of Rabbit Run by John Updike Essays Literary Review of Rabbit Run by John UpdikeJohn Updike s novel, Rabbit, Run, is about a man named Harry Rabbit Angstrom. Rabbit is a brainless guy whose career as a high school basketball star peaked at age 18. In his wife s view, he was, before their early, hasty marriage, already drifting downhill. We meet him for the first time in this novel, when he is 22, and a salesman in the local department store. Married to the second best sweetheart of his high school years, he is the father of a preschool son and husband to an alcoholic wife. We are at ground zero watching Rabbit struggle with aging, religion, sexuality (particularly sexuality), nature, and the trade offs between freedom and attachment, and rebellion and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s a well traveled premise for a novel, but executed and polished to a hilt. As we see Rabbit Angstrom struggle to keep apace with his given life, we are meant to see the social milieu that he lives in. Readers do get an acute sense of time and place, but what of it? Not that all fiction should strive for the Meaning of Life, but the feeling you get after reading Rabbit, Run is that of caffeine rush which you know will fade. And it does. I don t mean to slight Updike s legacy he is one of the best writers we have in the States. And read as a tetralogy, the Rabbit books do encapsulate four decades of Americana with a sprawling and lyrical sweep. It truly is an accomplishment. As an individual novel, Rabbit, Run is emotionally involving and a hell of a good read. But it moves us tantalizingly close to showing us what literary greatness is, then ultimately leaves us short. Has life ever seemed to much for you? Do you sometimes just want get away from it all? Well, here is a man that does it all for you, Mr. Harry Rabbit Angstrom. He is the man for running away from just about anything that is a conflict for him. Updike investigates this unfortunate soul of the suburban middle class with the use of many similes, metaphors, motifs, and imagery. In Rabbit, Run, John Updike s simple language brings reality to the central character of Harry and his boredom and disgust with his present life. In his early ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Cultural Relativism And Its Impact On The World Cultural relativism is the idea that all cultures are equal and no one is better than another. This way of thinking was created and elaborated on by three main philosophers. Franz Boas, Alain Locke and Robert Lowie were nineteenth century philosophers who shaped the ideas on concepts of Cultural Relativism. These three men focused on the idea that one cannot judge other cultures because they only see through eyes that have been influenced by their surroundings. They used relativist ideas that existed already and expressed them on the world and the many different cultures that exist in it. They created a mainly atheistic viewpoint in which the idea of a central moral truth and a higher power was discounted. Only the people within a culturecould create moral codes and laws for themselves. Franz Boas was born on July 19, 1858 in Minden, Germany. Boas grew up in a well educated family and was encouraged to follow his own beliefs and think for himself. From a very young age, Franz Boas was interested in natural history and studied it throughout his years of schooling. He continued his studies and graduated with a degree in physics, even though he considered himself more of a geographer than a physicist. This interest in geography is what drove him to delve deeper into the ideas of cultural difference and led to the beginnings of cultural relativism. Through his studies, Franz Boas became drawn to anthropology, the study of humankind. He became interested in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The information collected in a database can be effortlessly administered and accessed. However, with each database there is a concern of security. According to our book, the goal of database security is to protect and prevent data from unintentional or deliberate threats to its integrity and accessibility. The databaseenvironment has grown more complex, with distributed databases located on client/server architectures and personal computers as well as mainframes. Access to data has become more open through the Internet and corporate intranets and from mobile computing devices. As a result, managing data securityhas become more difficult and time consuming. The data collected and distributed in every organization is a very important resource; therefore, all personnel in the organization must be aware of the security threats present and the measure to take to prevent data breach or leak. Data leak can occur unintentionally or intentionally. For example, if the employee is being careless with sensitive data and leaving it in the open for others to access it this would be an unintentional data leak. An intentional leak would be when a disgruntled employee gives sensitive information to other competitors. The responsibility for database protection goes to the database administration. It s their task to develop the procedures and policies to avert data breach. The database ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Rowe makes sure the reader known what kind of evil is being dealt with or is being used in the argument which is the central concept of the whole argument. The program helps consumers to earn rewards faster and lead to a higher level of engagement with a program which provides merchants an opportunity to attract new customers and run cross promotional campaigns. Disliking the movie was difficult due to the fact I was trying admittedly hard to understand Gregg Tolland and the concept of the film. It was written very well but in my opinion it was executed wrong. There were many parts of the movie that I felt dragged on and were put in there as fluff whereas, the parts that needed elaborating were cut short. Such as, the scene of Kane s mother giving him away where they could have showed her reasoning to do so coupled with, a flashback of Kane s relationship with his father to establish a basis for his persistent attempts to convince the mother otherwise. As well as, a glimpse in his teenage years and why he wanted to become the head of the Inquirer, moreover, the odd choice of camera angles really took me by surprise. It was difficult to follow what Gregg Tolland was trying to portray. The first point of comparison is the intended audience and purpose. The New South was a time of change for everyone: mainly pertaining to the Jim Crow laws previously explained. While these laws were supposed to create separate yet equal conditions, they unfortunately condemned African Americans to inferior facilities and heinous treatment. The newly freed people of the South found themselves unemployed, drowning in poverty, unable to pay rent, and unable to keep food on the table for their families. This was not what the African Americans had in mind when they were told that they would be held separate yet equal in society, and many of them wanted to voice their opinions about the false hope of equality instilled in their minds. They wanted to share the degrading situations they faced every day. They wanted all of America to hear of the struggles they were still antagonized by even though they were supposed to be free and equal.
