Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay
John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the
entry level employees (Martin, personal interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of
expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new millennial employees
at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary
Overstreet, expressed concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the
same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits (Overstreet personal interview, 2016).
UPS promotes diversity within its company literature. United Parcel Service describes diversity as
impacting its company on a global aspect. Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS s human resource
issues. The web link to the company s diversity statements will allow the writer to determine specific
diversity issues and how they impact the selected company (UPS, 2012). Diversity between the
generations is impacting companies in a way that is splitting companies apart (Mhatre Conger, 2011).
There is a gap that is not mended could cause irreparable harm. Each generation has different
interpretations of missions, goals and rules to the point that communication is shutting down (Mhatre
Conger, 2011). Technology has assisted the company in expanding globally, but it has also served as a
nemesis with the rapid expansion of social media. Venters, Green, and Lopez

Changes In The Poisonwood Bible By Barbara Kingsolver
Every little girl naturally desires to be daddy s favorite, mimicking his every move, no matter the
price. But what happens when she realizes that being daddy s little girl may cost her life as she knows
it? Imagine candidly abandoning your luxurious life in the United States only to relocate in the least
modernized country known to man. In the novel titled The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver,
the Belgian Congo brings drastic change upon a person. There are many characters that undergo this
process of change, which ultimately portrays to the reader the injustice of the world in its treatment
toward the Congo. However, Leah Price consistently undergoes the most change from the beginning
of the novel until the end. Throughout the novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of which, is proving her newfound independence by participating in the village hunt of Kilanga.
Before her move to the Congo, an obedient Leah would have never done anything as rebellious as this
because Nathan would not have allowed it. This is evident in his failed attempt to stop her, (). Leah is
victorious, winning the hunt by the kill of a young male impala. A man named Tata Ndu steals her
meat and leaves nothing but a leg for Leah because he is embarrassed at the fact a girl possesses
enough skill to beat him. As a result, Leah feels disrespected and discriminated against. Though she
may not realize it at the time, Leah now relates to the Congolese on a larger scale. Just as her meat
was taken from her, the Price family poses a threat to forcibly replace Congolese culture with their
own Christian ideology. This is similar to when the United States of America have the Congolese
Prime Minister, Patrice Lumumba, assassinated. Leah feels responsible and bears all the guilt because
she knows that her people killed their treasured leader. After experiencing both occasions of loss, Leah
begins to see from the Congo s perspective, rather than her father s. At that moment, it is clear that
Leah has changed for the better. From that point, she begins a mission of her own. Her sole purpose
consisting of fighting for justice in the Congo, rather than converting it to Nathan s treacherous view
of Christianity. This she does by educating the Congolese as an elementary school teacher. In the
fullness of time, Leah s determination to justify portrays Kingsolver s message to the reader. The
Congo is mistreated by outside entities, and anyone who claims to care for the Congo, cares for the

High School Dropouts Essay
High School Dropouts
Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle
school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations
and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new
sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good
grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept
you. Of course it s not as easy at sounds, but it s achievable. It requires a lot of work and dedication to
every subject. Some students breeze their way through while others live in misery trying to pass their

Studies have also found that dropping out is more likely to occur among students from single parent
families and students with an older sibling who has already dropped out than among counterparts
without these characteristics. Other aspects of a student s home life such as level of parental
involvement and support, parent s educational expectations, parent s attitudes about school, and
stability of the family environment can also influence a youth s decision to stay in school. For
example, results from the NCES study found that students whose parents were not actively involved in
the student s school, whose parents infrequently talked to them about school related matters, or whose
parents held low expectations for their child s future educational achievement were more likely to
drop out.
Another reason why a lot of students drop out of school is simply because they don t like it. High
school, through its control over many decisions that are made for students, still seems to be restrictive.
Many aspects of a student s life are pre set and cannot be changed by the student to fit his needs. For
example, a student s time schedule is set every year. Every student must go the same amount of hours
every year. In most cases, school is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day, whether he or she actually
needs all the time or not. Students have to spend more time in some filler classes that they think they
probably did not need to take but still had

Personally the turbocharging option is the way which would work better in my opinion TMD tuning

Turbo technics technology offer a Hybrid Turbo for the Land rover Defender 2200cc engine which
produces more torque over a wider range compared to the original turbo unit the power produced is
moderately enhanced, this offers better driveability and gives the engine better responses to which the
Defender 90 feels more effective at off roading and handles considerably better with the right setup for
the road.
The 2200cc puma engine is a good four cylinder engine which offers a good torque output and

TD5 is not as responsive personally as the TDCI 4 Cylinder Puma engine.

Developing Critical Thinking Skills Is A Duty Of All Teachers
Developing critical thinking skills is a duty of all teachers; and if teachers fail to use learning
opportunities and produce a learning environment that fosters critical thinking, they are failing their
students. Critical thinking allows students to see things from different perspectives in an unbiased
way. It also encourages students to think for themselves and to question things. Finally, it teaches
students that learning is fluid and builds upon itself. Learning to think critically takes time; and
teachers can use questions, cooperative learning, and feedback to help students develop this important
skill that they will use all of their lives. Professional Knowledge Base One way that teachers can
develop critical thinking in students is by asking questions (Barell, 2003). Questioning makes students
look at things from different perspectives (Clark Whitney, 2009). According to a recent study by Clark
and Whitney (2009), Seeing things from different perspectives allows students to see things as if they
are walking in their shoes (p. 530). This allows students to see the bigger picture. Students do not
know everything about every single topic, so it gives others a chance to persuade students thinking.
While listening to other s ideas, students must keep an open mind and think about the other person s
background while considering the information they are providing (Beckham, 2001). 1 John 4:1 says,

Wright Brothers Essay
The brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright, possibly the two most renowned representatives of American
aeronautics, were the first to experience controlled, continuous flight of a powered airplane in history.
Despite being autodidactic in the area of engineering, the duo proved to be extraordinarily successful,
testing and refining their strategies to overcome successive challenges that arose with the building of a
plane (Crouch 226). The two were so far ahead in the race for flight that they even anticipated and
found solutions to problems that more learned scientists could not have even begun to predict.
Successful, man controlled, powered flight was a fundamental turning point in history; it transformed

In the future, this toy served as a seed planted into the brothers heads early on in order to give them
the idea later to build aircraft that could carry human beings.
Neither of the brothers attended college, but instead, ventured forward together in becoming
entrepreneurs. The two went to work in mastering the printing business, learning to work together to
build their own printing presses. The teamwork between the two brothers led to the two opening a
bicycle shop in 1892, at first selling and mending bikes, and later building them (Garber 2). Their
success in the bicycle business led to their nickname, The Wright Brothers, and produced a reputation
for their mechanical designs. Their skills and profits gained from mechanizing and building these
bicycles would give them the basic knowledge and funding to help in their endeavors to mechanize
aircraft later on (Garber 2). The boys experiences of working together and crafting printers and
bicycles gave the two brothers skills that would be later used for their greatest challenge, flight. The
Wright brothers did not simply forget the helicopter toy that their father brought home, dreams of man
controlled aviation still lingered in the brothers heads. The aviation endeavors of German aviator, Otto
Lilienthal, sparked the duo s earlier interest in aviation, which gave rise to the brothers beginning to
devote their mechanical and design skills to solving the mystery behind

1992 Presidential Election Campaign Analysis
During his acceptance speech in 1988, Republican Vice President, George H. W. Bush, said, read my
lips, no new taxes (Bush as cited by Matthews, 2004). Unfortunately, in the wake of financial pressure
President Bush in 1990 implemented a new tax on the American people. The failure to honor this
declaration brought into question President Bush s credibility and trust, and ultimately followed him to
the 1992 Presidential Election (Jamieson, 1996). However minimal the phrase, the impact of his
trustworthiness plagued Bush to the ballot box costing him reelection. The presence of credibility,
likability, and charisma in a political candidate are precious characteristics needed in the electoral
process.
These characteristics have the power to move voters in an electoral process and ignite action
(Borchers, 2005; Burrell, 2008; Conger, Kanungo Menon 2000; Choi, 2006; Goethals, 2005; Levine
Boaks, 2014; Rejai Phillips, 2004). During the 2008 Democratic primaries, a strong strategic initiative

the greater goals of the group. This results in higher identification and motivation (Conger, Kanungo,

constituents emotions to inspire and ignite action in voters. The invoking of emotions during Barack
Obama s there are no red state, there are no blue states, just the United States of America speech
during the 2004 Democratic National Convention, undoubtedly resonated with future Democratic
delegates and voters to transcend him to the Presidency in 2008 (Gelman, Park, Shor Cortina,

The Causes And Effects Of False Memory
False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the human brain is
very susceptible to suggestion, and the misinformation and misattribution of the original source of the
information. Existing knowledge and other memories can also interfere with the formation of a new
memory, causing the recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false. (VERYWELL CITE).
For instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid seventies on the
effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. Subjects were shown a slide of a car at an
intersection with either a yield sign or a stop sign. Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely
introducing the term stop sign into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had
actually seen. Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term yield sign in questions directed to
participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that subjects remembered
seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered participants memories. (STANFORD
JOURNAL).
Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is the process of interpretation
that occurs at the very formation of memory thus introducing distortion from the beginning.
Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police officers
or lawyers. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our memory can be affected by us

While at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts, the dream of becoming a pro athlete diminished

Shakespeare As A Modern Comedy
William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor. He is widely regarded as the greatest
writer in the English language and the world s pre eminent dramatist. He is often called England s
national poet and the Bard of Avon. Shakespeare has written many plays during his time. He wrote
poems, tragedies, and of course some of his most known plays are comedies. What made Shakespeare
so popular? Why are his comedies so well known? How did his way of writing comedies form the
way others wrote and continue to write in the years after him? These are some questions many
educators and students want to understand while studying Shakespeare. Focusing on his writing within
his most popular comedies, Shakespeare has formed literature into what it is today. When the first
collected edition of Shakespeare s plays, the First Folio, was published in 1623, its contents page
divided them into three categories: comedies, histories and, tragedies. The list of comedies included
Measure for Measure and The Merchant of Venice, plays that modern audiences and readers have not
found particularly funny. Also included were two late plays, The Tempest and The Winter s Tale, that
critics often now classify as romances (Mullan). If we ask ourselves what these four plays have in
common with those such as As You Like It or Twelfth Night; which we are used to calling comedies,
the answer gives us a clue to the meaning of comedy for many of Shakespeare s educated
contemporaries. All of them

Cholera Epidemic In The 19th Century
Miasma, or bad air, is once thought to cause cholera during the cholera epidemic of the 19th century
(Cholera epidemics in the 19th century, n.d.). Epidemiologist John Snow disproved the widely popular
miasma belief and cholera is now understood to be an infectious disease caused by the bacterium
Vibrio cholerae (Tuthil, 2003). V. cholerae is a Gram negative, monotrichous bacillus bacterium.
Epidemic cholera can only be caused by two serogroups, serogroups O1 and serogroup O139 Vibrio
cholerae (Finkelstein, 1996). Cholera is transmitted by the fecal oral route through the ingestion of
food or water contaminated with V. cholerae. Advanced water and sewage treatments have eliminated
the spread of cholera in industrialized countries such as the United States. ... Show more content on

The signs and symptoms of the disease are similar in children and adults, which includes severe and
profuse diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, electrolyte imbalance, and shock. If left untreated, cholera can
result in death in a matter of hours (Mayo Clinic, 2017a). Nevertheless, cholera is a treatable disease
and can be treated with oral rehydration solutions, intravenous fluids, and antibiotics. In addition,
there are three oral vaccines available for the protection against cholera (World Health Organization
[WHO], 2017). The crucial need to reduce the spread of cholera prompts the possible research in
producing more treatments against V. cholerae. Artificial acquired active immunity by the means of an
intramuscular vaccine is one of the many different possible areas of research that could be investigated
to help control and prevent the spread of

David Hume On Personal Identity

one s self. Through the ideas and examples that he provides, Hume explains his main arguments with
regards to how we perceive our own identity and self, and whether this perception is accurate variable
or even possible to be maintained. The first section of this paper serves as an introduction to Hume s
text, highlighting his main arguments, then elaborating on each of his arguments with a support from
his texts through quotations and external research analysis. By referring to Hume s text, a personal

the key arguments by Hume in On Personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But this is not a guaranteed process, because the transition among these relations will may diminish,
so we have no standard by which we can decide any dispute concerning the time when they acquire or
lose a title to the name of identity , (Hume, 171), which means that the notion of identity is uncertain,
but is only a combination of feelings ideas and perceptions. As an empiricist philosopher, Hume
maintains a bundle view of personal identity, arguing that the mind does not have a cohesive union,
but rather is formed of a combination of perceptions. And so is the self, which is a bundle of
experiences, liked by resemblance and causation. This bundle is just like links in a chain, and if a
person attempts to find a unifying self outside these perceptions, it is like he is trying to find a chain
beyond these links
In conclusion, this paper first gave a general overview of Hume s main claim in his text On Personal
Identity , then proceeded to elaborate on each of the arguments that he raised through his text,
clarifying them through external research, personal analysis and quotations from the text itself. As a
fitting conclusion, one can say that Hume intended for us to think twice before making conclusions
about our one s self based on things like intuition, perception or abstract feelings and impressions, but
rather it should be done through credible empirical evidence, which would dash the doubts and

The God s Wife Of Amun
Beginning this middle kingdom of Egypt, the most significant position a women can hold, was God s
wife of Amun. There were several God s Wives linked with certain gods, and originally, in the Middle
Kingdom, the God s Wife of Amun was solely just one among many. The God s Wife was an
honorable name given to a woman (usually the upper class women of Egypt) who would aid the high
priest in ceremonies and tend to the god s statue. Soon at the beginning of the Third Intermediate
Period, the God s Wife of Amun was in the same in authority with the king and successfully reigned
Upper Egypt. During the New Kingdom period, the most well known of the God s Wives was no other
than pharaoh Hatshepsut, but there were many other women to hold the office before and after her

Eyewitness Testimony, Helpful or Hinderance
Eyewitness evidence can be fundamental when it comes to solving crimes, however, with the
increasing number of cases now being exonerated by DNA evidence, the questions lies, what degree
of confidence should be placed on the evidence of the eyewitnesses alone? Countless factors are
associated with the accuracy and consistency of eyewitness evidence, such as line up content, line up
instructions, the questioning techniques of interviewers and notably the gender and/or age of the
witness. Eyewitness testimony may not always be accurate, but despite its weaknesses, by using
empirical studies to guide reforms, eyewitness testimony can be an extremely beneficial instrument in
the criminal justice system. Inaccurate evidence is not necessarily ... Show more content on

Therefore the age of an eyewitness is an important point to note when considering the accuracy of
eyewitness identification, especially with the case of very young children providing significantly
inferior accuracy than adults if questioned incorrectly. When children are questioned in the same
method as adults, misinterpretation and errors can weaken the child s credibility and the accuracy of
their testimony. The fact however remains that eyewitness testimony can be beneficial if caution is
exercised when interviewing children so as to not repeat questions, suggest information, or allow for
interviewer assumptions and/or bias.
As well as age, the gender of an eyewitness has been consistently linked to issues with the accuracy
and consistency of evidence. Jacqueline and Wolfgang (1986) referenced one of the earliest empirical
studies of gender differences in eyewitness testimony, that of William Stern (1903 1904) with the
opinion that women s eyewitness testimony was less accurate and less resistant to the influence of
misleading information than men s (Pg. 565). Research has since revealed a female advantage in the
number of details, and the accuracy of memory recall when providing eyewitness testimony. A study
undertaken by Areh (2011) states gender is one of the factors significantly influencing memory recall
(Pg. 559). The study concentrated on sex differences in the accuracy and quantity of memory recall for
specific details of an event (Pg. 559).

Many times, these choices can be based on their previous experience and their knowledge of tropical
cyclones. Many families, including my own, that has been a resident of Florida for a multitude of
years has experienced numerous storms and aware of their capabilities. Over the past quarter decade
alone, there have been severe landings that have stricken the Florida Coast line, such as Hurricane
Andrew in 1992, Hurricane Irene in 1999, and the four storms that landed in 2004, Hurricanes
Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne.
All of these landings have convinced many people to seek further knowledge and to conduct better
preparation standards in the inevitability of another landing. In fact, Chris Landsea, through the
National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration Hurricane Research Division states, For the
U.S., the locations that have the highest chances are the following: Miami, Florida 48% ( 2014). This
means that every year Florida, Miami more specifically, has a forty eight percent chance of being hit
by a hurricane. With the high percentage of Florida possibly being struck each year, many residents
have possibly become disillusioned about the possible catastrophic damage these storms can truly
cause.
In addition to the residential firsthand knowledge, and reoccurrence of these natural disasters, another

on this spot, I had a recurrent dream, too. I dreamed that I should travel to the fields of Spain and look
for a ruined church where shepherds and their sheep slept. In my dream, there was a sycamore
growing out of the ruins of the sacristy, and I was told that, if I dug at the roots of the sycamore, I
would find a hidden treasure. But I m not so stupid as to cross an entire desert just because of a

Pyramids. They seemed to laugh at him, and he laughed back, his heart bursting with joy At this point
Santiago has realized that his journey is officially over and he has achieved his personal legend.

Adding to this, Krispy Kreme sells other ingredients, packaging and supplies primarily to company
owned and domestic franchise stores. According to a study by Market Force Information, there is still
considerable room for growth in the coffee house and snack chain industries. In a recent survey, data
shows most consumers visit a coffee shop around once a week, with 70% reporting that they go to
coffeehouses or snack restaurants less than five times a month. Many reported that they use time at a
coffee or snack restaurant to reflect, or as an escape. That, paired with the fact that just 4% of
consumers reported trying a new coffeehouse or snack restaurant in the last 30 days, indicates big
room for growth for chains.
When asked which coffeehouse or snack restaurants were their favorites, Starbucks was cited by 36%,
Dunkin Donuts by 28%, and Krispy Kreme by 16%. However, when the number of locations is
factored into the results, Krispy Kreme wins 35% of the vote. Krispy Kreme also outscored competing
coffee shops and snack chains on eight of 10 attributes. These attributes included Quality of Food,
Taste of Food/Coffee, Speed of Service, Friendly Service, Cleanliness, Atmosphere, Accommodating,

Music Therapy Personal Statement
When I went to college, I planned to be a musician. I spent my life studying music, and I was
passionate about composing music theory. I spent hours looking at the keys, and I explored different
methods to make unique sounds. I was required to take electives the first semester; I chose to take
psychology. My first essay demonstrated the psychological dynamics of music therapy. As I studied
psychology more in depth, the concepts paralleled those I studied in music theory. I began to examine
different theoretical approaches to understand various aspects of behavior. My interest in music as a
profession waned; I was obsessed with how the mind works and I decided to change my major to
psychology.

Frequent Shopper Program, Part I Essay
Frequent Shopper Program: Part I
The Frequent Shopper Program identifies, determines, and tracks customers purchasing behavior. The
program is applied by retailers to attract long term customers that demonstrate a loyal relationship

methods that can be used in the development of the Frequent Shopper Program by Smith Systems

In the end, each part would be subjected into multiple iterations and all these iterations will make a
new module or will improve its existing module. This module would be integrated into a structure that
would be tested at the end of the test cycle.
Spiral model
Spiral Modal is another method that combines the idea of iterative development and waterfall model.
It evaluates every aspect of iteration and manages the risk through the analysis of continuous changing
needs of the client (Grubb Takang, 2003). It can be a useful method for Smith Consulting with the
advantage of easy estimation of budget, schedule, etc. due to the spiral process, which includes
various phases and cyclic implementation of the program. This makes it easy to adapt with any change
that will help Kudler Fine Foods to understand purchasing behavior of customers. The repeated and
continuous development under this model is also helpful to manage the risks. On the other hand, spiral
model may not fulfill every aspect of both companies. It uses a protocol to develop a program, and if
this protocol is not handled and applied properly, then it may corrupt all the system and data. It also
makes Kudler Fine Food dependable on Smith Systems Consulting because the success of the
program highly depends on the risk analysis phase (Grubb Takang, 2003).

Song Of Solomon Father Son Relationship
Father and Son s Helluva Piss Similarities and Differences
In Song of Solomon, Toni Morrison illustrates the relationship between two Macon Dead s, father and
son. Throughout the novel, Macon II and Macon III, better known as Milkman, have bouts of conflict
and reconciliation, and with each interaction their similarities and differences are gradually revealed.
However, there is one image which reveals truths about both characters without any interaction. Set
decades apart, both father and son are set in parallel scenes, urinating in the wilderness, in the open
air. Perhaps small and seemingly unimportant, but these actions and images can be unpacked further
than face value; subtle details planted by Morrison can be used to reveal both the similar and different

Comparing Crime And Punishment By Albert Camus
Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky and The Stranger by Albert Camus both explore

explore what defines a man; the crimes he commits and the punishments that result take their toll on
him. What determines their decency? Dostoevsky and Camus pour their own histories into their work
to examine the souls of mankind, and find that love is the deciding factor in a man s morality and
gives him his source of life.

The study indicated a significant decline in the amount of summer snowfall. With this information,
they determined that the decline was most likely the result of snow changing into a different rain.
Although one might question if this result might have been because of the lack of precipitation, they
determined that there was not a significant influence of decrease in the total amount of precipitation in
the areas. As they looked back to annual data collected and the data that was recently collected, they
determined statistically that 99% of the summer snowfall decline is linked to Arctic Warming over the
past two decades (Screen and Simmons). They continue by explaining with more of these greenhouse

Genghis Khan And The Mongols
Mongol DBQ
Allysa:
Genghis khan used excessive brutality, hatred, destruction, and mass slaughtering of civilians, for his
conquest, and is therefore guilty. Genghis khan used brutal tactics to intimidate and enforce his will on
those he conquered. He promoted hatred of non mongols to foster destruction by his army. Genghis
Khan was guilty of mass slaughters of civilians because it has been recorded that Khan has caused the
deaths of over 40,000,000 people.
LOGAN:
The Mongols have been proven to have used excessively brutal tactics during conquests. In some
instances Khan s army provided excessive force to conquer said areas. Damon states that certain
techniques such as hails of bows were used in greater force and in greater numbers than ever seen in
history before when in battle (doc 2). Thus proving how the Mongols used excessively brutal tactics
while in war with cities that could not defend themselves to such power. In other areas like Russia, the
Mongols were recorded to have captured women, men, and children, killed them with swords, and or
bound and disemboweled them (doc 2). The unnecessary disembowelment of these victims
furthermore supports the claim that the Mongols used excessively brutal tactics, do to that being
uncalled for. Also, the victims chosen furthers the assertion that it was excessive and brutal because
they were innocent children and citizens. Lastly, some battle tactics the Mongols used included not
leaving off fighting by day or night (doc 3).

Analysis Of The Book By Helen Humphreys And Days Of...
Coventry by Helen Humphreys and Days of Significance by Roy Williams have a number of sexual
interactions. The only problem with all but one of these sexual interactions is that the importance of
sexual acts is missing. When the gravity of the war has sunk into Harriet in World War Two her sexual
interaction with Jeremy is not special. In Days of Significance the war in Iraq has many influences on
sexual interaction, non of which are positive. Also, Overlord and Execution display the lack of
importance and some aspects of objectifying woman. I argue using these sources that in times of war
sex loses its importance and turns into a casual interaction as well as being prevented all the while
objectifying females. To begin, one primary text that illustrates the effect war has on sex is Coventry
by Humphreys. To start off, in the beginning of the text Harriet has sex with her husband. The sexual
interaction between the married couple appeared to be so special the Harriet gave her husband a
memento of their time together, She had slipped a pair of her panties in this morning ... those panties
he had struggled so hard to take off her last night (Humphreys 13). When Harriet and Owen have sex
in the beginning of the text, the two still believed that the war would only last until Christmas. The
gravity of the war has not yet sunk into the newly weds. Without the full gravity of the war pressing
down on Harriet and Owen, the two were able to have a special sexual interaction.

Candida Infection
Dr. Tullio Simoncini conducted research on Candida and cancer and found that 79 to 97 percent of all

Dr. Simoncini s explanation how Candida is linked to cancer: 1.Candida roots itself in your deep

  • 2. Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the entry level employees (Martin, personal interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new millennial employees at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary Overstreet, expressed concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits (Overstreet personal interview, 2016). UPS promotes diversity within its company literature. United Parcel Service describes diversity as impacting its company on a global aspect. Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS s human resource issues. The web link to the company s diversity statements will allow the writer to determine specific diversity issues and how they impact the selected company (UPS, 2012). Diversity between the generations is impacting companies in a way that is splitting companies apart (Mhatre Conger, 2011). There is a gap that is not mended could cause irreparable harm. Each generation has different interpretations of missions, goals and rules to the point that communication is shutting down (Mhatre Conger, 2011). Technology has assisted the company in expanding globally, but it has also served as a nemesis with the rapid expansion of social media. Venters, Green, and Lopez ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Changes In The Poisonwood Bible By Barbara Kingsolver Every little girl naturally desires to be daddy s favorite, mimicking his every move, no matter the price. But what happens when she realizes that being daddy s little girl may cost her life as she knows it? Imagine candidly abandoning your luxurious life in the United States only to relocate in the least modernized country known to man. In the novel titled The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver, the Belgian Congo brings drastic change upon a person. There are many characters that undergo this process of change, which ultimately portrays to the reader the injustice of the world in its treatment toward the Congo. However, Leah Price consistently undergoes the most change from the beginning of the novel until the end. Throughout the novel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of which, is proving her newfound independence by participating in the village hunt of Kilanga. Before her move to the Congo, an obedient Leah would have never done anything as rebellious as this because Nathan would not have allowed it. This is evident in his failed attempt to stop her, (). Leah is victorious, winning the hunt by the kill of a young male impala. A man named Tata Ndu steals her meat and leaves nothing but a leg for Leah because he is embarrassed at the fact a girl possesses enough skill to beat him. As a result, Leah feels disrespected and discriminated against. Though she may not realize it at the time, Leah now relates to the Congolese on a larger scale. Just as her meat was taken from her, the Price family poses a threat to forcibly replace Congolese culture with their own Christian ideology. This is similar to when the United States of America have the Congolese Prime Minister, Patrice Lumumba, assassinated. Leah feels responsible and bears all the guilt because she knows that her people killed their treasured leader. After experiencing both occasions of loss, Leah begins to see from the Congo s perspective, rather than her father s. At that moment, it is clear that Leah has changed for the better. From that point, she begins a mission of her own. Her sole purpose consisting of fighting for justice in the Congo, rather than converting it to Nathan s treacherous view of Christianity. This she does by educating the Congolese as an elementary school teacher. In the fullness of time, Leah s determination to justify portrays Kingsolver s message to the reader. The Congo is mistreated by outside entities, and anyone who claims to care for the Congo, cares for the wrong ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. High School Dropouts Essay High School Dropouts Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept you. Of course it s not as easy at sounds, but it s achievable. It requires a lot of work and dedication to every subject. Some students breeze their way through while others live in misery trying to pass their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Studies have also found that dropping out is more likely to occur among students from single parent families and students with an older sibling who has already dropped out than among counterparts without these characteristics. Other aspects of a student s home life such as level of parental involvement and support, parent s educational expectations, parent s attitudes about school, and stability of the family environment can also influence a youth s decision to stay in school. For example, results from the NCES study found that students whose parents were not actively involved in the student s school, whose parents infrequently talked to them about school related matters, or whose parents held low expectations for their child s future educational achievement were more likely to drop out. Another reason why a lot of students drop out of school is simply because they don t like it. High school, through its control over many decisions that are made for students, still seems to be restrictive. Many aspects of a student s life are pre set and cannot be changed by the student to fit his needs. For example, a student s time schedule is set every year. Every student must go the same amount of hours every year. In most cases, school is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. every day, whether he or she actually needs all the time or not. Students have to spend more time in some filler classes that they think they probably did not need to take but still had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Personally the turbocharging option is the way which would work better in my opinion TMD tuning offer a vast range of solutions which may increase indicated power, such as turbocharging options boost modules, etc. . . . Turbo technics technology offer a Hybrid Turbo for the Land rover Defender 2200cc engine which produces more torque over a wider range compared to the original turbo unit the power produced is moderately enhanced, this offers better driveability and gives the engine better responses to which the Defender 90 feels more effective at off roading and handles considerably better with the right setup for the road. The 2200cc puma engine is a good four cylinder engine which offers a good torque output and replaces the TD5 Lump which in comparison seem to have the similar engine output figures, but the TD5 is not as responsive personally as the TDCI 4 Cylinder Puma engine. The parameters which are chosen diameter of the exhaust manifold, diameter of the pipe at the turbine exit, efficiency of the turbocharger, location of the turbo charger and the packaging is also a major ... • 6. Developing Critical Thinking Skills Is A Duty Of All Teachers Developing critical thinking skills is a duty of all teachers; and if teachers fail to use learning opportunities and produce a learning environment that fosters critical thinking, they are failing their students. Critical thinking allows students to see things from different perspectives in an unbiased way. It also encourages students to think for themselves and to question things. Finally, it teaches students that learning is fluid and builds upon itself. Learning to think critically takes time; and teachers can use questions, cooperative learning, and feedback to help students develop this important skill that they will use all of their lives. Professional Knowledge Base One way that teachers can develop critical thinking in students is by asking questions (Barell, 2003). Questioning makes students look at things from different perspectives (Clark Whitney, 2009). According to a recent study by Clark and Whitney (2009), Seeing things from different perspectives allows students to see things as if they are walking in their shoes (p. 530). This allows students to see the bigger picture. Students do not know everything about every single topic, so it gives others a chance to persuade students thinking. While listening to other s ideas, students must keep an open mind and think about the other person s background while considering the information they are providing (Beckham, 2001). 1 John 4:1 says, Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the ... Wright Brothers Essay The brothers Wilbur and Orville Wright, possibly the two most renowned representatives of American aeronautics, were the first to experience controlled, continuous flight of a powered airplane in history. Despite being autodidactic in the area of engineering, the duo proved to be extraordinarily successful, testing and refining their strategies to overcome successive challenges that arose with the building of a plane (Crouch 226). The two were so far ahead in the race for flight that they even anticipated and found solutions to problems that more learned scientists could not have even begun to predict. Successful, man controlled, powered flight was a fundamental turning point in history; it transformed the methods of how the United States ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the future, this toy served as a seed planted into the brothers heads early on in order to give them the idea later to build aircraft that could carry human beings. Neither of the brothers attended college, but instead, ventured forward together in becoming entrepreneurs. The two went to work in mastering the printing business, learning to work together to build their own printing presses. The teamwork between the two brothers led to the two opening a bicycle shop in 1892, at first selling and mending bikes, and later building them (Garber 2). Their success in the bicycle business led to their nickname, The Wright Brothers, and produced a reputation for their mechanical designs. Their skills and profits gained from mechanizing and building these bicycles would give them the basic knowledge and funding to help in their endeavors to mechanize aircraft later on (Garber 2). The boys experiences of working together and crafting printers and bicycles gave the two brothers skills that would be later used for their greatest challenge, flight. The Wright brothers did not simply forget the helicopter toy that their father brought home, dreams of man controlled aviation still lingered in the brothers heads. The aviation endeavors of German aviator, Otto Lilienthal, sparked the duo s earlier interest in aviation, which gave rise to the brothers beginning to devote their mechanical and design skills to solving the mystery behind ... • 8. 1992 Presidential Election Campaign Analysis During his acceptance speech in 1988, Republican Vice President, George H. W. Bush, said, read my lips, no new taxes (Bush as cited by Matthews, 2004). Unfortunately, in the wake of financial pressure President Bush in 1990 implemented a new tax on the American people. The failure to honor this declaration brought into question President Bush s credibility and trust, and ultimately followed him to the 1992 Presidential Election (Jamieson, 1996). However minimal the phrase, the impact of his trustworthiness plagued Bush to the ballot box costing him reelection. • 9. The Causes And Effects Of False Memory False memory can occur for many different reasons. Some factors include; that the human brain is very susceptible to suggestion, and the misinformation and misattribution of the original source of the information. Existing knowledge and other memories can also interfere with the formation of a new memory, causing the recollection of an event to be mistaken or entirely false. (VERYWELL CITE). For instance, memory researcher Elizabeth Loftus conducted experiments in the mid seventies on the effect of third parties incorporating false facts to memories. Subjects were shown a slide of a car at an intersection with either a yield sign or a stop sign. Experimenters asked participants questions, falsely introducing the term stop sign into the question instead of referring to the yield sign participants had actually seen. Similarly, experimenters falsely substituted the term yield sign in questions directed to participants who had actually seen the stop sign slide. The results indicated that subjects remembered seeing the false image. The introduction of false cues altered participants memories. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Then there is an original memory. By definition, an original memory is the process of interpretation that occurs at the very formation of memory thus introducing distortion from the beginning. Furthermore, witnesses can distort their own memories without the help of examiners, police officers or lawyers. (STANFORD JOURNAL). Our memory can be affected by us ... • 11. Shakespeare As A Modern Comedy William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and actor. He is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world s pre eminent dramatist. He is often called England s national poet and the Bard of Avon. Shakespeare has written many plays during his time. He wrote poems, tragedies, and of course some of his most known plays are comedies. What made Shakespeare so popular? Why are his comedies so well known? How did his way of writing comedies form the way others wrote and continue to write in the years after him? These are some questions many educators and students want to understand while studying Shakespeare. Focusing on his writing within his most popular comedies, Shakespeare has formed literature into what it is today. When the first collected edition of Shakespeare s plays, the First Folio, was published in 1623, its contents page divided them into three categories: comedies, histories and, tragedies. The list of comedies included Measure for Measure and The Merchant of Venice, plays that modern audiences and readers have not found particularly funny. Also included were two late plays, The Tempest and The Winter s Tale, that critics often now classify as romances (Mullan). If we ask ourselves what these four plays have in common with those such as As You Like It or Twelfth Night; which we are used to calling comedies, the answer gives us a clue to the meaning of comedy for many of Shakespeare s educated contemporaries. Countless factors are associated with the accuracy and consistency of eyewitness evidence, such as line up content, line up instructions, the questioning techniques of interviewers and notably the gender and/or age of the witness. Therefore the age of an eyewitness is an important point to note when considering the accuracy of eyewitness identification, especially with the case of very young children providing significantly inferior accuracy than adults if questioned incorrectly. The fact however remains that eyewitness testimony can be beneficial if caution is exercised when interviewing children so as to not repeat questions, suggest information, or allow for interviewer assumptions and/or bias. As well as age, the gender of an eyewitness has been consistently linked to issues with the accuracy and consistency of evidence. Jacqueline and Wolfgang (1986) referenced one of the earliest empirical studies of gender differences in eyewitness testimony, that of William Stern (1903 1904) with the opinion that women s eyewitness testimony was less accurate and less resistant to the influence of misleading information than men s (Pg. 565). Research has since revealed a female advantage in the number of details, and the accuracy of memory recall when providing eyewitness testimony. We, this current generation and the previous generation, have seemed to take for granted the fragile nature of the Earth. With this information, they determined that the decline was most likely the result of snow changing into a different rain. Although one might question if this result might have been because of the lack of precipitation, they determined that there was not a significant influence of decrease in the total amount of precipitation in the areas. As they looked back to annual data collected and the data that was recently collected, they determined statistically that 99% of the summer snowfall decline is linked to Arctic Warming over the past two decades (Screen and Simmons). They continue by explaining with more of these greenhouse gases that the solar input to the Arctic Ocean has increased (Screen and Simmons). Each of these examples shows that global warming has a direct effect on climate. All of these climate problems have stemmed just from greenhouse gases caused by global warming. Genghis khan used brutal tactics to intimidate and enforce his will on those he conquered. He promoted hatred of non mongols to foster destruction by his army. Genghis Khan was guilty of mass slaughters of civilians because it has been recorded that Khan has caused the deaths of over 40,000,000 people. • 35. Analysis Of The Book By Helen Humphreys And Days Of... Coventry by Helen Humphreys and Days of Significance by Roy Williams have a number of sexual interactions. The only problem with all but one of these sexual interactions is that the importance of sexual acts is missing. When the gravity of the war has sunk into Harriet in World War Two her sexual interaction with Jeremy is not special. In Days of Significance the war in Iraq has many influences on sexual interaction, non of which are positive. Also, Overlord and Execution display the lack of importance and some aspects of objectifying woman. I argue using these sources that in times of war sex loses its importance and turns into a casual interaction as well as being prevented all the while objectifying females. To begin, one primary text that illustrates the effect war has on sex is Coventry by Humphreys. To start off, in the beginning of the text Harriet has sex with her husband. The sexual interaction between the married couple appeared to be so special the Harriet gave her husband a memento of their time together, She had slipped a pair of her panties in this morning ... those panties he had struggled so hard to take off her last night (Humphreys 13). When Harriet and Owen have sex in the beginning of the text, the two still believed that the war would only last until Christmas. The gravity of the war has not yet sunk into the newly weds. Without the full gravity of the war pressing down on Harriet and Owen, the two were able to have a special sexual interaction. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
