The seven vectors of Chickering theory of Identity Development is based on the concept that
incoming freshman go through several stages that has a impact on their college experience and
personal identity. As a student mature they also go through the phase pedagogy to andragogy.
Pedagogy and Andragogy is the transition from what you will be taught depends directly from the
teacher to being motivated to be in control of what you learn. Going through this transition it is
important to have effective professors and leaders to help guide the individual to grasp their full

This diversity means that solar power is an option different power systems important food worldwide.
In fact, interest in solar power systems has been increasing in recent years worldwide. This interest to
several factors, such as environmental awareness, effort should be to minimize the dependence on non
renewable fossil fuels countries and international agreements that require the reduction of greenhouse
gases in the atmosphere of the earth. Heat storage technologies, systems and applications are studied
in the field of solar energy. One way to collect and store solar energy by using solar ponds can be used
to provide thermal energy for various applications, such as process and space heating, water
desalination, refrigeration, drying and power generation. Thermal energy storage has always been the
most important energy storage option. Solar ponds are a classic application of thermal energy storage
and efficiency essentially depends on the storage capacity of the fluid, Thermo physical properties of

Non Verbal And Interpersonal Communication
Non Verbal and Interpersonal Communication
Introduction
Humans are very intelligent beings. We say one thing and mean another, most of the times at least.
While having a conversation, it is important that we asses, analyze and then respond to have a
meaningful conversation. This is true more so in the case where we are interacting with a lot of cross
cultural people.
Non verbal communication is nothing but body language in generic and facial expressions, postures,
gestures and interpersonal space in specific, to name a few.
Facial Expressions
Facial expressions are a part of non verbal communication. People can recognize other persons
emotions by reading facial expressions. In recent work, researchers define 21 distinct emotion ... Show

Eye contact is looking into people s eyes with mouth curve up and brows relaxed, while staring at
people is looking at people with brows wrinkled and lips tight. In fact, staring at people reveals the
signal of hatred that you never want to bring coworkers and customers. In addition, smile with apples
of the cheeks states truly delight. However, smiling while frowning is more or less fake and it exhibits
the feeling of being embarrassed. While talking with customer or answering their questions, a person
picks up ears and turns head to one side a little bit implies he or she is patiently listening and serious
about the conversation. Plus, as a professional staff, he or she doesn t want to be indifferent to
customers and thus snorting and crinkling nose up with mouth curve down are definitely forbidden in
business talks.
Finally, conversations between friends and families are more casual. In this case, people are relaxed.
They may not keep eye contact all the time but they prefer to use their multi facial expressions to
express plentiful emotions. For instance, smile, laugh and grin are three popular expressions in casual
conversation, they look like the same but they do vary. The corners of mouth curve up present a smile.
The mouth is opened a bit more and the voice is then heard, which shows a laugh. Smiling broadly
and showing teeth brings a grin. Facial expressions are a crucial part of interpersonal communication,

Apologia In Sports Research Paper
II. Sports and Apologia Commentary Apologia In Sports Commentary #1 Apologia is an incredibly
important field in the media, let alone in sports. A recurring theme in the recent sports culture is the
mistakes of popular athletes. Sports culture has become a huge aspect of our society. As more time
passes, sports become more influential in our communities. It has come to the point where everyone
tunes in or hears about the mishaps of our athletic role model and their public apologies. It seems like
every week there is another tragedy in sports, in the sense that another star athlete has potentially
ruined his career. Every month there are athletes pissing their opportunities away. And people are
always drooling to see what they have to say about it, if they are sorry or that they denial. Although it
is getting more popular now, forms of apologia have been involved in sports ever since sports became
popular. The earliest major form of athletic apologia was the Black Sox scandal. The Black Sox
Scandal has become huge deal in Baseball and all of the major sports. Allegedly, the World Series of
1919 were fixed by the players of the Chicago White Sox. This was a huge insult to all of those

Pinto Safety Essay
In 1969, Ford had to make an affordable car for the public and 2 years later amidst competition from
other car manufacturers, Ford rushed production of the Pinto to get it on the road quicker. The car cost
two thousand dollars and over 12.5 million were massed produced by Ford over the span of 9 years.
Facing the need to make the car cost efficient, corners were cut by Ford and certain standards of safety
for the car weren t met and the area where the bumper and the fuel tank were missing key components
imperative to safety this meant rear end collisions would rupture the Pinto s fuel system extremely
easily. (motherjones.com/politics/1977/09/pinto madness) One prominent instance of these explosive

Safety wasn t a popular subject around Ford in those days. With Lee it was taboo. Whenever a
problem was raised that meant a delay on the Pinto, Lee would chomp on his cigar, look out the

because safety would cost for eleven dollars for each cars to be implemented with a redesign to make
sure that it does not set on fire when struck by another car. Ford tallied up the cost of these

amount of people that would be affected meaning set on fire or severely injured, and worse die due to
the car going into production without the safety implementations which the company estimated to be

would die by burning, serious burns injuries for 180 more buyers and 2100 vehicles burn beyond all

Roles of Deregulation on Banking Sector Essay
What roles have deregulation, innovation, and globalization played in changing the character of bank
management in recent decades? Has the overall outcome of the changes been greater stability in the
banking sector? Discuss the respective roles of asset and liability management in modern banking.
Deregulation, innovation and globalisation has changed the way banks run from asset management to
liability management, as well as the change from mono to multi tasking and the increased competition
in the sector as well as risk. The banking system has evolved drastically from the traditional mono
tasking institution to what it is now. This change in roles of asset and liability management could be

2) The second phase sees the ending of the sharp distinction between banks and NBFIs (non banking
financial institutions). In the 1980s, banks were given the right to compete in the mortgage market and
building societies allowed to compete in the market for consumer credit; i.e. both allowed in each
other s markets. Whereas in US, banks were not allowed to compete in the field of investment banking
and insurance until 1999.
3) The third phase allowed increased competition within the financial sector and from outside it.
NBFIS and other new kinds of financial institutions attached to other financial operations provided
new kinds of services such as online banking (within the financial sector). Firms from outside the
financial sector also entered the financial services market including Tesco, Marks and Spencer (UK),
and GM and GE in the US (General electric s financial arm makes 1/3 of its profits!).
The three phases of deregulation is the main driving force for banks and NBFIs to compete
aggressively and take on excessive risk (through actively searching out liabilities) to gain higher profit
margins. By expanding their balance sheet through liabilities, they increase exposure to credit risk and
become highly sensitive to the state of the economy i.e. more defaults during downturns of the
economy.
Apart from deregulation, financial innovation

Run through your choreography one last time. Make mom proud. Even more importantly, make Miss
Maria proud. You can t mess up, there are so many people watching. These are all things racing
through my mind as I make my way to being only inches away from one of the most terrifying
moments of my life: Performing my first ever solo on a stage in front of three judges and hundreds of
people. Don t forget to hold eight counts first. I cannot believe I m actually about to do this. Don t
stress yourself out. You ll do fine.
The music starts. I hold my first eight counts. Moonwalk backwards for four. Slap heel step heel step
heel toe hop, and repeat. Move on to the next set of choreography. I start out strong, my chest lifted
and my smile bright and beaming like the sun. I continue to perform the choreography, only making a
few minor mistakes along the way. Coming up is the most difficult task of all: getting up onto my light
up platform while tapping. I approach the box from behind, step up onto it, and BAM!, It lights up
right on cue. The crowd does not expect this, and neither do the judges. The audience goes nuts, and
the judges throw up their hands as if they were on a roller ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

hardly any actual critiques is very reassuring. Competitions are now less intimidating, and It s a lot

Witches Power In Macbeth
In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, the theme of acting on beliefs illustrates men as the weak and
women as the strong in the story. This flaw in the men restrains them from fully acting upon what they
believe, and instead, do as the women persuade and manipulate them to do. With the flaw in the men,
it allows the women to use them to further contrast their power. Even when the men make attempts to
make right, the women exploit the men s flaw of belief and will to fulfill their own goals.
Shakespeare uses the witches to illustrate the men s inability to act on their belief, to create a
substantial difference in strength and power the women have over the men. The witches guide
Macbeth towards the path of becoming king, which illustrates Macbeth s fatal flaw for the first time in
the story as he then proves the witches prophecy. This displays the witches power over Macbeth as he
completes their prophecy. The witches utilize Macbeth to view their own superiority over men by the
witches manipulating and persuading them. Shakespeare uses the rant made by Hecate, to embellish
the witches actions against Macbeth as manipulative to prove their dominance and superiority over
him. Saucy and overbold, how did you dare To trade and traffic with Macbeth In riddles and affairs of
death, And I, the mistress of your charms, The close contriver of all harms, Was never called to bear

Before the American Civil War began in 1861, a number of northern states also allowed or required
segregated schools. However, throughout the 19th century more than ninety five percent of all blacks
lived in the South, so segregation there affected an overwhelming majority of America s black
population. After the Civil War ended in 1865, and especially after the end of Reconstruction in 1877,
the South continued to segregate its schools and other facilities. In the influential case of Plessy v.
Ferguson (1896) the Supreme Court upheld the practice of segregation as long as the separate facilities
were equal. By 1900, the South was an entirely segregated society. In 1909 blacks and whites, led by
W. E. B. DuBois and Arthur and Joe Spingarn, formed the National Association for the Advancement
of Colored People (NAACP), an organization dedicated to fighting for racial equality and ending
segregation. The NAACP challenged segregation through its Legal Defense and Education Fund.
From 1936 to 1950 the organization won a number of cases leading to the desegregation of law
schools and other professional schools at segregated universities in Mississippi, Maryland, Oklahoma,
and Texas. The NAACP also had some success in forcing states to equalize public school funding and
to pay teachers in black schools at the same rate as those in white schools. But throughout the South,
public education for blacks remained terribly

A Nation Is A Social Concept With No Uncontroversial...
Nation is a social concept with no uncontroversial definition, but which is most commonly used to
designate larger groups or collectives of people with common characteristics attributed to them
including language, traditions, customs, habits, and ethnicity. A nation, by comparison, is more
impersonal, abstract, and overtly political than an ethnic group. It is a cultural political community
that has become conscious of its autonomy, unity, and particular interests.
According to Ford s National Question: a nation is not a racial or tribal, but a historically constituted
community of people; a nation is not a casual or ephemeral conglomeration, but a stable community of
people ; a nation is formed only as a result of lengthy and systematic intercourse, as a result of people
living together generation after generation ; and, in its entirety: a nation is a historically constituted,
stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and
psychological make up manifested in a common culture.
The nation has been described by Benedict Anderson as an imagined community and by Paul James as
an abstract community . It is an imagined community in the sense that the material conditions exist for
imagining extended and shared connections. It is an abstract community in the sense that it is
objectively impersonal, even if each individual in the nation experiences him or herself as subjectively
part of an embodied unity with others.

Blanche Dubois Delusions Essay
Dealing with the harsh truths of life can be tough for anyone to cope with which is why people tell
themselves lies. These lies are called life lies a falsehood people tell themselves to rationalize the
lifestyle they are living or actions they have committed. Tennessee Williams and Henrik Ibsen
investigate how life lies can turn into delusions a state of mind or way of life, when they are used to
cope with the stressors of everyday life. Williams protagonist, Blanche DuBois, was a former southern
belle forced to move in with her sister, Stella, after her husband s suicide and being evicted from Belle
Reve, her family home. To cope with these traumatic events, Blanche decided to recreate her
character. To do so, she lied to the people ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She [couldn t] stand a naked lightbulb in Stella s house because of the fear it would expose her too
blatantly to the very people from whom she tried to hide (Williams 60). Williams used the word naked
, instead of another synonym, to describe the vulnerable and delicate position Blanche would be in if
her lies are disclosed. She believed that if she hid herself physically, her dark, internal self would thus
be hidden. No one especially Stella, Stanley, and Mitch, the people closest to her would be able to see
through the barrier of lies she created to cope with the death of her husband and her past which
devastated her. She was forced to face her biggest fear when he (Mitch) [turned] on the light and
[stared] at her. She [cried] out and [covered] her face , as to mourn the death of her facade (Williams
145). As soon as Mitch turned on the light, Blanche knew every part of her being, including her
appearance and character, were utterly exposed to a man whom she desired to appear to as
wholesome. It was as if she was in pain when the light hit her which was symbolic of how painful it
would be if she came to terms with the truth. Blanche, then, [covered] her face to keep herself from
total indecency in front of Mitch and keep the most vulnerable, valuable part of herself hidden and,
therefore, wholesome. Williams used short, blunt sentences to make a statement and emphasize her
fear. At the end of the

How Fragmentation Will Impact On Ecosystem Function
Introduction
Following the advance of civilization, large forests are completely degraded, eliminated and converted
to other types of land use on all continents. However, small pieces of forest are left on areas that are of
little use owning to their adverse topography or poor drainage, or other reasons. When discussing the
human impact on forests (Ledig 1992). Ledig and Kitzmiller (1992) listed fragmentation of forest as
next in line after complete destruction degradation and loss of genetic diversity in forest area. Defined
as an unbroken expanse of primary forest greater than 500 km2 without significant human activity,
intact forest landscapes comprise only 29.9% of the world s remaining tropical forests (Gibson et al.,
2011). This surviving fraction is rapidly being broken up and fragmented (Wright, 2005). This raises
the urgent question of how fragmentation will impact on ecosystem function, the essential set of
processes which maintain tropical forest ecosystems (Laurance et al., 2011).Ecosystem function can
be defined as the processes that collectively contribute to the self maintenance of an ecosystem
Owning to the species richness of genetic diversity particularly of tropical rain forest with a high
proportion of endemics (Vianaet al. 1997), the number of species being strongly affected or becoming
vulnerable and extinct is larger than in other biomes. Owning to local rarity or pronounced clumping

Diversity in products and their prices helps Apple remain an inelastic company, regarding their
demand. If a price rises for one of their products, there is sure to be another product that moves into
that previous product s price range that is still comparable in design and quality. There will always be
people to buy the more expensive items not only because of Apple s positive brand recognition and
loyalty, but because Apple consistently produces quality and innovative products; including, if Apple
finds a defect or fault, they fix the problem for free or replace the product altogether. With Apple
being so far ahead of their competition, the only problem one can foresee in Apple s future is how
long they can sustain such innovation before they plateau. Apple does a phenomenal job at releasing
their innovative products before their competition, but if their innovation cannot hold steady, this may
lead to changes in demand for their products considerably. This can be seen with their release of the

it was first released because of its advanced technology, as the years have passed, other similar

Shopping Networks And The Online Retail Community
Each day ,retailers face emerging risks that threaten the sustainability and profitability of their
companies. As shopping becomes more convenient for the average person ,the increase of online
purchases increases in this digital age. Since social media, shopping networks and the readiness of
smart devices enable unsavory individuals to take advantage of unsuspecting shoppers. Given this fact
it is essential that retailers rethink how they manage the risk to their enterprises. With the recent
disclosures about the enormous data breaches that occur within the online retail community it is
certain that a strong plan is needed by all companies. For example in 2014,Target, Nieman Marcus,
White Lodging, Sally Beauty, Michaels, Affinity Gaming (casinos), UPS, Home Depot and even New
York reported data breaches that involved the theft of credit or debit card information of millions of
consumers ( Hardekopf, 2015). One of the first things that must be considered is the communication
process because it is where the breakdown first begins. Having strong polices that are followed to the
letter is the beginning of setting up a risk management framework. This is especially true when you
consider that internal risk is growing as fast as external. There are three categories that risk falls into
as far as retail enterprises are concerned: hazard, business and strategic. Each must be handled in its
own unique way for it to be effective within a risk management

The Secret History of the Credit Card Essay
The Secret History of the Credit Card
1. What is the main purpose of a usury law? Be specific.
The purpose of usury laws was to regulate the maximum interest rates of loans. This law was created
to protect borrowers from excessively high interest rates. It insured that lenders could not put the
borrower in a situation where they were not able to fully pay off their debt. However, as said on
investopedia.com, In the United States, individual states are responsible for setting their own usury
laws. 2. Why did South Dakota decide to eliminate its cap on interest rates?
South Dakota use to have very strict laws on the amount a lender could charge a borrower. Interest
rate charges were highly regulated and because of this banks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Citibank brought in hundreds of white collar jobs. Citibank is now the largest employer in the entire
state. Citibank turned the credit card business, which before was losing money, into an immensely
profitable business. As stated in the frontline article, the unlikely state of South Dakota became the
place where America s credit card industry first began to really take off .
5. In the Citibank example, how did Citi use existing laws to alter its business mode?
The usury laws in New York were putting Citibank under. The bank lost over one million dollars on its
audacious foray from credit cards because the inflation rate went beyond the amount of interest they
were allowed to charge customers. It did not look good for Citibank so they needed to make quick
changes. Since the usury laws in New York were what was holding them back they went to South
Dakota, where there were no usury laws, hoping for a new start. The change in location was
everything they needed to get back on track and make profit off the credit card business. 6. What was
the underlying basis of the Marquette Bank decision?
The Marquette Bank decision was a U.S. Supreme Court decision ruling that a bank could export its
interest rate to another state. This meant that a bank could move its headquarters to a state with no
usury laws and offer loans with high interest rates to other states. This is what really sparked

Strategies For Lifelong Additional Language Learning Essay
Strategies for lifelong additional language learning
The ability to evaluate whether something is worth learning is considered a meta skill (Siemens et al.
2005). This reference to meta skill is remiscient of the metacognitive processes involved in learning.
Thinking about the learning process is an important aspect as it allows learners to reflect on strengths,
areas of improvement and make adjustments to learning plans (Starkey, 2012). Considering the large
breadth of material (vocabulary, grammar, social and cultural contexts) in learning an additional
language, planning an additional language learning path is crucial to an additional language learners
success (Anderson, 2002). A lifelong commitment to learning a new language does not come without
the potential benefits of the strategic planning, monitoring and thinking about learning processes.
Metacognitive training is associated with promoting learner autonomy and allowing students greater
control over managing their studies (Kangli, 2002). Sucesss and high proficiency in learning an
additional language is contingent on the learner s ability to prioritize, organize and evaluate strategies
related to comprehension (Gu, 2008; Oxford, 2001; Anderson, 2002). Brown (2013) clearly defines
metacognitive activity in additional language learning as three distinct stages planning for additional
language learning, reflecting on the processes as they are taking place as well as monitoring the
production and/or comprehension of

Folk Music Influence On American Culture
There are many things that influence cultures around the world, some of these things being big and
some of these things being small. One of the largest impacts on cultures would be music and poetry. It
seems that these two things, more than anything else, tie people together and give them common
grounds (Earhart). These two things not only have the power to tie people together but they also have
the ability to tear them apart. For example music has influenced the way people dress, act, and even
talk (Syncrat).
A great example in American history of how music has influenced a culture would be the rise of folk
music during the 20th century. Among other things The Civil Rights Movement was in full swing and
the largely unpopular war in Vietnam was well underway ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Folk music was also known as music for the masses due to the fact that so many people were involved
in the making and listening to it. When the culture became aware of the negativity around them and
the radical changes that necessary it gave the common folk a need for expression. Music was not
being used for the first time not only a vehicle for expression, but also as s way to mobilize and inspire
the listeners to think differently and take action to change their conditions (Music s Effects on People
and Culture).
There were certain songs that became like anthems for particular generations. Examples of this would
be Bob Dylan s Blowin in the Wind which talks about finding answers to questions, another would be
John Lennon s Imagine which talks about imagining a world without all the negative things where
people love each other instead of hate on another. There were songs that brought together countries in
times of national crisis such as God Bless America. These songs created a sense that people can relate
to one another that no one is out there dealing with things all alone (Music s Effects on People and

Transformer Metaphor
For many decades, the US military has, engaged with Hollywood s movies by giving permission to
their production crews to use their military machines and techniques. Black Hawk Down was about
the US military, Top Gun was about the Navy, and Iron Man was about the Air Force (McMillen).
These kinds of movies are regarded as joint military force movies, and one of the largest joint military
movies is Transformers, which was released in 2007. The third series was recently released, which is
now being processed into a 3D version to be released in the coming months. The movie series
includes Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009), and Transformers: The
Dark of the Moon (2010).

The Transformers series goes further than most other war movies by delivering the US government s
war policy directly to the audience. This amplifies the military s reason for supporting these movies.
They wish to advertise their military policy which has been an extremely controversial issue around
the world, and show off their power by using science fiction movies. The benefit of the science fiction
genre is that it can convey an omnipotent military futurism (Butler). Michael Bay, the director of the
Transformers series, is well known for using political issues in his movies, and Transformers: The
Dark of the Moon (2010) has the strongest political sense in the series of the movies. In Transformers
3, the United States Army emerged like a phoenix from Northern Iraq in 2016, winning the battle of
Aqaba in 2025. This leads to an approval of America to defeat the most difficult enemy, the
Decepticons. In these scenes, some of the dialogues show the American military s current policy in
direct ways. Dialogues between President Andrew Exum, Secretary Messerschmidt of the Battle of
Aqaba, General Jack D. Ripper of the Battle of Aqaba and other people in the movie convey the US
military policy toward other nations, which could be interpreted

How To Write A Personal Narrative
My family consist of my parents, my twin brothers Joshua and Jesus, my sister Marilyn and myself.
Growing up my parents were very strict. Our typical day was to go to school and come straight home
after school. We were not allowed to participate in any outside school activities because we did not
live in a safe neighborhood. As a result my siblings and I grew up really close to each other since we
usually only interacted among our self s. In our family my dad is the head of our house hold and he
was predominantly responsible for all the decision makings in our home. My dad ran his house hold in
a very traditional Mexican manner. No one ever questions his rules as a result there was very little
communication in our family. This eventually led ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My dad was adamant that I would not get a license until I was at least eighteen. He refused to teach
me to drive even though he would take my sixteen year old brothers out every weekend for driving
lesson. My dad refusal to teach me how to drive. Only motivated me to learn how to drive on my own.
In high school in I had a couple of friends that own cars and they gladly taught me how to drive
afterschool. Eventually, I acquired enough driving experience that I felt confident enough to take my
driving test. When I asked my dad to take me to the Department of Motor Vehicles to take my test he
said no . All he said was that it was just a waste of time since I did not know how to drive I begged for
over a month. Eventually, he said yes and I made my appointment when the day came for me to take
my driving test my dad was confident that I was not going to pass the test. To his surprise and mine I
was passed the exam on the first try. This was the first step in gaining my independence from my
parents. The next one was getting a car, again my dad said no . However, I was lucky enough that one
of my uncles was letting go of one of his trucks and he was giving it to me for my eighteen birthday.
At this point my dad said that if I wanted a car I would have to pay for my own gas and any
maintenance the car may need. Therefore, I needed to get a job and that is exactly what I did. I think

Pubius Cornelius Tacitus Essay
Pubius Cornelius Tacitus (55 118AD), was a historian from an equestrian family born in either norther
Italy or Southern Gaul who wrote Biography of Agricola in 98 AD followed by Histories in 105 AD.
The first document, an excerpt from Biography of Agricola 29 32 is a fictional speech from the British
war chief named Calgacus who was preparing his people for battle against Gnaes Julius Agricola the
governor of the Roman provinces in Briton from 78 85 AD and also Tacitus father in law. The second
document is an excerpt from Tacitus Histories 4.74 which is also a fictional speech. This speech given
through the view point of Petillius Cerialis a Roman general who stopped the revolt of the people of
Gaul in 70AD. In my essay I am going to assess whether or not Tacitus motives throughout the
speeches are to shed negative light on Roman conquest and Roman rule of its conquered territories. ...

I admit that I cannot give an accurate assessment of what Tacitus true motives where. Having only
read the excepts from both documents, I do not know what content he wrote leading up to the
speeches, nor do I know what came after them which could give me more insight into why he wrote
what he did. What I can use though is the information that I do know, such as his biases and the shared
style of writing between the documents to formulate my own opinion. For the excerpt from Biography
of Agricola I know that the fact that Agricola was Tacitus father in law is a definite bias towards how
and why he wrote that document. As for the excerpt from Histories could the fact that he may be from
southern Gaul have influenced him to write the speech? For both speeches though Tacitus main bias is
that he is a wealthy Roman male whom was raised in a different world than the people that are

The Cultural Beliefs Affect The Culture Of Immigrants
The Cultural environment is a set of beliefs, practices, customs, and behaviors which are familiar to
people in a specific population. There are essential components of culture which include language and
symbols. Symbols show the meaning and actions of events while the word conveys the values and
beliefs of religion which allows the members of the society to pass on the cultural expectations of
other generations. The following factors affect the culture of immigrants to a new population where
they settle (Oberg, 1960).
Religious beliefs of a community are the beliefs and building blocks of a cultural environment. They
dictate the beliefs in supernatural power. When a new member is added or moves in a new community
which of course is bounded with particular religious beliefs, they find it a challenge to adapting to the
new Christian ideas. To be well off with the places, what kind of worship they offer, how they do their
offerings which is of course entirely different with the one from the new member s culture, they have
to be dedicated to getting involved in the religious functions entirely. The most significant challenge
comes when the new member in the literature does not show interest in the new environments
religious beliefs and might be discriminated as people may view them as unholy or spies to their way
of life hence might be chased away.
Another critical factor in a culture of a community is family and relationships. The family is the
building block of society, and

My Experience At Eastern Connecticut State University
In my time at Eastern Connecticut State University, I learned a lot about myself and what I have been
doing as a student. In that time, I learned not only about myself, my academic strength s and even
learned to think critically and ask questions. Eastern has taught me to be myself and this campus puts
more emphasis on individuality over group thinking. I learned a lot in applying my critical thinking
skills to my history classes and learned a lot in how to look at History in everyday context. What my
experience at Eastern as taught me that, I never gave up and I always persevere in many difficult
challenges this campus has tossed at me. I always came out on top and learned to deal with challenges
that I will face later in Graduate school and in life. In my History Research paper, I learned a lot in
how to work a history presentation. It taught me a lot about what I can do. It was a challenging
History research paper and along the way, I learned to overcome those challenges. I was challenged in
many ways such as finding primary and secondary sources. I was often times challenged in how I
write a paper and many times it took trial and error to get the paper right. My research paper was a
challenge to me because it taught me to write deeper than ever before. I was at times very frustrated
with the work, but I learned to over come them. I also learned that no one ever works alone in writing
a history research paper. You have classmates, friends and buddies who often times

a person who teachers animals specific responses to specific conditions or stimuli, which may be for
the purpose of companionship, detection, protection, entertainment, etc. In addition animal trainers do
all the dirty work like take care of the animals as in clean, feed, etc. I chose animal trainer for a few
reasons. Based off of my personality tests and such, it seemed like the perfect match as a job. It s
definitely not a job I d prefer for this project or my career but for this cluster it s the best choice I

For animal trainers hours are very irregular. Often weekend and holiday shifts. Some are on duty 24
hours a day. For vacation time, that isn t blatantly specified, but based on the facts I know already
unless a person is off on the holiday shifts it seems like animal trainers don t get much of a vacation.
Salaries for this job are significantly low at around a max of $31,590 a year. Average salaries are
between 16k and 24k. Physical and emotional stress is big in this job. All of the hours worked
caretaking for animals, lifting, cleaning; the skills needed basically, can really take a toll on someone
in this job. Usually the people that work in this field are veterinarians, animal control, other animal
helpers, etc. and they are usually animal lovers. I personally am not an animal lover but I like to have
a dog or pet. You re evaluated by your peer employees and the employees above you or at a higher
authority such as the manager of the establishment. To me there aren t many advantages to this job
besides it works with animals and it s an easy job to be hired at. The disadvantages are numerous. The
hours worked, the time not spent with family, the amount of pain possibly involved and with all of that
hard work, not very much in return with a very low salary. If I chose to apply for this job it could
definitely help me in the long run if I play my cards right. The more I work as an animal trainer the

How White Tailed Deer Affect Native And Invasive Plant...
How White tailed Deer Effect Native and Invasive Plant Species Populations in the Eastern United
States.
Introduction
Whitetail deer have come to be known as a keystone species, species known for affecting other
organisms in an ecosystem. Deer are known as a keystone species in forest habitats such as in the
Eastern United States because they are capable of destroying potential forest habitat of other
organisms (McShea and Rappole, 1992). For example, deer have a negative impact on forest
ecosystems by trampling and over browsing over vegetation, without creating any habitat for other
native species. Throughout the eastern United States, the abundance of white tailed deer (Odocoileus
virginianus) has increased dramatically over the last century (Taggart and Long, 2015). Population
increases could be due to increased habitat fragmentation from land development, reduced predators
and/or hunting pressure. Individual deer ranges varied during seasonal times, deer movements are
usually greatest during the peak breeding months from late fall through winter (Williams et. al, 2012).
Regardless of the cause, high deer densities can have significant effects on plant communities such as
plant decay and/or even death. Deer consume a large amounts of plant biomass (leaves, buds, flowers
and fruits) and directly reduce the growth, reproduction, and survival of herbaceous and woody plant
species (Shen et. al, 2016). The impacts of white tailed deer on forests along the Eastern United

We say one thing and mean another, most of the times at least. While having a conversation, it is important that we asses, analyze and then respond to have a meaningful conversation. This is true more so in the case where we are interacting with a lot of cross cultural people. However, smiling while frowning is more or less fake and it exhibits the feeling of being embarrassed. While talking with customer or answering their questions, a person picks up ears and turns head to one side a little bit implies he or she is patiently listening and serious about the conversation. Plus, as a professional staff, he or she doesn t want to be indifferent to customers and thus snorting and crinkling nose up with mouth curve down are definitely forbidden in business talks. Finally, conversations between friends and families are more casual. In this case, people are relaxed. In the 1980s, banks were given the right to compete in the mortgage market and building societies allowed to compete in the market for consumer credit; i.e. both allowed in each other s markets. Whereas in US, banks were not allowed to compete in the field of investment banking and insurance until 1999. 3) The third phase allowed increased competition within the financial sector and from outside it. NBFIS and other new kinds of financial institutions attached to other financial operations provided new kinds of services such as online banking (within the financial sector). Firms from outside the financial sector also entered the financial services market including Tesco, Marks and Spencer (UK), and GM and GE in the US (General electric s financial arm makes 1/3 of its profits!). The three phases of deregulation is the main driving force for banks and NBFIs to compete aggressively and take on excessive risk (through actively searching out liabilities) to gain higher profit margins. Run through your choreography one last time. Make mom proud. Even more importantly, make Miss Maria proud. You can t mess up, there are so many people watching. • 11. Witches Power In Macbeth In William Shakespeare s Macbeth, the theme of acting on beliefs illustrates men as the weak and women as the strong in the story. This flaw in the men restrains them from fully acting upon what they believe, and instead, do as the women persuade and manipulate them to do. With the flaw in the men, it allows the women to use them to further contrast their power. Even when the men make attempts to make right, the women exploit the men s flaw of belief and will to fulfill their own goals. Shakespeare uses the witches to illustrate the men s inability to act on their belief, to create a substantial difference in strength and power the women have over the men. The witches guide Macbeth towards the path of becoming king, which illustrates Macbeth s fatal flaw for the first time in the story as he then proves the witches prophecy. This displays the witches power over Macbeth as he completes their prophecy. The witches utilize Macbeth to view their own superiority over men by the witches manipulating and persuading them. Shakespeare uses the rant made by Hecate, to embellish the witches actions against Macbeth as manipulative to prove their dominance and superiority over him. Saucy and overbold, how did you dare To trade and traffic with Macbeth In riddles and affairs of death, And I, the mistress of your charms, The close contriver of all harms, Was never called to bear my part, Or show the glory of our art? However, throughout the 19th century more than ninety five percent of all blacks lived in the South, so segregation there affected an overwhelming majority of America s black population. After the Civil War ended in 1865, and especially after the end of Reconstruction in 1877, the South continued to segregate its schools and other facilities. In the influential case of Plessy v. Ferguson (1896) the Supreme Court upheld the practice of segregation as long as the separate facilities were equal. By 1900, the South was an entirely segregated society. In 1909 blacks and whites, led by W. E. B. DuBois and Arthur and Joe Spingarn, formed the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), an organization dedicated to fighting for racial equality and ending segregation. The NAACP challenged segregation through its Legal Defense and Education Fund. From 1936 to 1950 the organization won a number of cases leading to the desegregation of law schools and other professional schools at segregated universities in Mississippi, Maryland, Oklahoma, and Texas. The NAACP also had some success in forcing states to equalize public school funding and to pay teachers in black schools at the same rate as those in white schools. Nation is a social concept with no uncontroversial definition, but which is most commonly used to designate larger groups or collectives of people with common characteristics attributed to them including language, traditions, customs, habits, and ethnicity. A nation, by comparison, is more impersonal, abstract, and overtly political than an ethnic group. It is a cultural political community that has become conscious of its autonomy, unity, and particular interests. According to Ford s National Question: a nation is not a racial or tribal, but a historically constituted community of people; a nation is not a casual or ephemeral conglomeration, but a stable community of people ; a nation is formed only as a result of lengthy and systematic intercourse, as a result of people living together generation after generation ; and, in its entirety: a nation is a historically constituted, stable community of people, formed on the basis of a common language, territory, economic life, and psychological make up manifested in a common culture. The nation has been described by Benedict Anderson as an imagined community and by Paul James as an abstract community . It is an imagined community in the sense that the material conditions exist for imagining extended and shared connections. It is an abstract community in the sense that it is objectively impersonal, even if each individual in the nation experiences him or herself as subjectively part of an embodied unity with others. ... These lies are called life lies a falsehood people tell themselves to rationalize the lifestyle they are living or actions they have committed. Tennessee Williams and Henrik Ibsen investigate how life lies can turn into delusions a state of mind or way of life, when they are used to cope with the stressors of everyday life. Williams protagonist, Blanche DuBois, was a former southern belle forced to move in with her sister, Stella, after her husband s suicide and being evicted from Belle Reve, her family home. She believed that if she hid herself physically, her dark, internal self would thus be hidden. No one especially Stella, Stanley, and Mitch, the people closest to her would be able to see through the barrier of lies she created to cope with the death of her husband and her past which devastated her. She was forced to face her biggest fear when he (Mitch) [turned] on the light and [stared] at her. She [cried] out and [covered] her face , as to mourn the death of her facade (Williams 145). As soon as Mitch turned on the light, Blanche knew every part of her being, including her appearance and character, were utterly exposed to a man whom she desired to appear to as wholesome. It was as if she was in pain when the light hit her which was symbolic of how painful it would be if she came to terms with the truth. Blanche, then, [covered] her face to keep herself from total indecency in front of Mitch and keep the most vulnerable, valuable part of herself hidden and, therefore, wholesome. How Fragmentation Will Impact On Ecosystem Function Introduction Following the advance of civilization, large forests are completely degraded, eliminated and converted to other types of land use on all continents. However, small pieces of forest are left on areas that are of little use owning to their adverse topography or poor drainage, or other reasons. When discussing the human impact on forests (Ledig 1992). Ledig and Kitzmiller (1992) listed fragmentation of forest as next in line after complete destruction degradation and loss of genetic diversity in forest area. Defined as an unbroken expanse of primary forest greater than 500 km2 without significant human activity, intact forest landscapes comprise only 29.9% of the world s remaining tropical forests (Gibson et al., 2011). This surviving fraction is rapidly being broken up and fragmented (Wright, 2005). This raises the urgent question of how fragmentation will impact on ecosystem function, the essential set of processes which maintain tropical forest ecosystems (Laurance et al., 2011).Ecosystem function can be defined as the processes that collectively contribute to the self maintenance of an ecosystem Owning to the species richness of genetic diversity particularly of tropical rain forest with a high proportion of endemics (Vianaet al. 1997), the number of species being strongly affected or becoming vulnerable and extinct is larger than in other biomes. As shopping becomes more convenient for the average person ,the increase of online purchases increases in this digital age. Since social media, shopping networks and the readiness of smart devices enable unsavory individuals to take advantage of unsuspecting shoppers. Given this fact it is essential that retailers rethink how they manage the risk to their enterprises. With the recent disclosures about the enormous data breaches that occur within the online retail community it is certain that a strong plan is needed by all companies. For example in 2014,Target, Nieman Marcus, White Lodging, Sally Beauty, Michaels, Affinity Gaming (casinos), UPS, Home Depot and even New York reported data breaches that involved the theft of credit or debit card information of millions of consumers ( Hardekopf, 2015). One of the first things that must be considered is the communication process because it is where the breakdown first begins. Having strong polices that are followed to the letter is the beginning of setting up a risk management framework. In the Citibank example, how did Citi use existing laws to alter its business mode? The usury laws in New York were putting Citibank under. The bank lost over one million dollars on its audacious foray from credit cards because the inflation rate went beyond the amount of interest they were allowed to charge customers. It did not look good for Citibank so they needed to make quick changes. • 22. Strategies For Lifelong Additional Language Learning Essay Strategies for lifelong additional language learning The ability to evaluate whether something is worth learning is considered a meta skill (Siemens et al. 2005). This reference to meta skill is remiscient of the metacognitive processes involved in learning. Thinking about the learning process is an important aspect as it allows learners to reflect on strengths, areas of improvement and make adjustments to learning plans (Starkey, 2012). Considering the large breadth of material (vocabulary, grammar, social and cultural contexts) in learning an additional language, planning an additional language learning path is crucial to an additional language learners success (Anderson, 2002). A lifelong commitment to learning a new language does not come without the potential benefits of the strategic planning, monitoring and thinking about learning processes. Metacognitive training is associated with promoting learner autonomy and allowing students greater control over managing their studies (Kangli, 2002). Sucesss and high proficiency in learning an additional language is contingent on the learner s ability to prioritize, organize and evaluate strategies related to comprehension (Gu, 2008; Oxford, 2001; Anderson, 2002). • 30. The Cultural Beliefs Affect The Culture Of Immigrants The Cultural environment is a set of beliefs, practices, customs, and behaviors which are familiar to people in a specific population. There are essential components of culture which include language and symbols. Symbols show the meaning and actions of events while the word conveys the values and beliefs of religion which allows the members of the society to pass on the cultural expectations of other generations. The following factors affect the culture of immigrants to a new population where they settle (Oberg, 1960). Religious beliefs of a community are the beliefs and building blocks of a cultural environment. They dictate the beliefs in supernatural power. When a new member is added or moves in a new community which of course is bounded with particular religious beliefs, they find it a challenge to adapting to the new Christian ideas. To be well off with the places, what kind of worship they offer, how they do their offerings which is of course entirely different with the one from the new member s culture, they have to be dedicated to getting involved in the religious functions entirely. The most significant challenge comes when the new member in the literature does not show interest in the new environments religious beliefs and might be discriminated as people may view them as unholy or spies to their way of life hence might be chased away. • 31. My Experience At Eastern Connecticut State University In my time at Eastern Connecticut State University, I learned a lot about myself and what I have been doing as a student. In that time, I learned not only about myself, my academic strength s and even learned to think critically and ask questions. Eastern has taught me to be myself and this campus puts more emphasis on individuality over group thinking. I learned a lot in applying my critical thinking skills to my history classes and learned a lot in how to look at History in everyday context. What my experience at Eastern as taught me that, I never gave up and I always persevere in many difficult challenges this campus has tossed at me. I always came out on top and learned to deal with challenges that I will face later in Graduate school and in life. In my History Research paper, I learned a lot in how to work a history presentation. It taught me a lot about what I can do. It was a challenging History research paper and along the way, I learned to overcome those challenges. I was challenged in many ways such as finding primary and secondary sources. I was often times challenged in how I write a paper and many times it took trial and error to get the paper right. My research paper was a challenge to me because it taught me to write deeper than ever before. I was at times very frustrated with the work, but I learned to over come them. I also learned that no one ever works alone in writing a history research paper. You have classmates, friends and buddies who often times ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Animal Trainer Animal Trainer My career for our first career cluster is Animal Trainer. An animal trainer is in general a person who teachers animals specific responses to specific conditions or stimuli, which may be for the purpose of companionship, detection, protection, entertainment, etc. In addition animal trainers do all the dirty work like take care of the animals as in clean, feed, etc. I chose animal trainer for a few reasons. Based off of my personality tests and such, it seemed like the perfect match as a job. It s definitely not a job I d prefer for this project or my career but for this cluster it s the best choice I have. For education animal trainers often need just a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Some require a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For animal trainers hours are very irregular. Often weekend and holiday shifts. Some are on duty 24 hours a day. For vacation time, that isn t blatantly specified, but based on the facts I know already unless a person is off on the holiday shifts it seems like animal trainers don t get much of a vacation. Salaries for this job are significantly low at around a max of $31,590 a year. Average salaries are between 16k and 24k. Physical and emotional stress is big in this job. All of the hours worked caretaking for animals, lifting, cleaning; the skills needed basically, can really take a toll on someone in this job. Usually the people that work in this field are veterinarians, animal control, other animal helpers, etc. and they are usually animal lovers. I personally am not an animal lover but I like to have a dog or pet. You re evaluated by your peer employees and the employees above you or at a higher authority such as the manager of the establishment. To me there aren t many advantages to this job besides it works with animals and it s an easy job to be hired at. The disadvantages are numerous. The hours worked, the time not spent with family, the amount of pain possibly involved and with all of that hard work, not very much in return with a very low salary. If I chose to apply for this job it could definitely help me in the long run if I play my cards right. The more I work as an animal trainer the more I am recognized and could possibly ... • 34. Discussion Forum Questions This class so far to me has been a learning experience. Theory wasn t always a strong point for me, but as the semester moves forward, I see myself getting better at grasping the concepts. The Discussion Forum Questions are useful in the fact that it furthers my knowledge in theory and what we are learning that week. I get to see how other people are thinking about theory. It gives me the opportunity to compare and contrast my thinking to their thinking. All of my postings have been up by Tuesday because I want to give my classmates appropriate time to make comments. I try to put thorough thought into my discussion posts, and use references to back my posts up. I also try to respond to my peer s postings in a timely manner. I feel overall when providing responses to the assigned Discussion Forum Questions that I do well and deserve a 1/1 in this section. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I read the assigned readings, and then I think about this content is used in my every day life and nursing practice. I have learned a lot about theory up to this point, and I guess didn t realize how much it is used in my nursing career. Since taking this class, I try to critically think about theory when I am at work with my patients. For example, I think about the theorists and their theories we just learned about and relate that theory to my patients. I try to critically think about the best EBP, and apply to my posts since we use EBP every day in nursing. I try my best to critically think, give appropriate examples in my posts, and have the research to back my posts up. I am still learning about theory, and I try my best to critically think, but I feel I still have some room for improvement. I think I would give myself a 1.75/2 for this ... • 35. How White Tailed Deer Affect Native And Invasive Plant... How White tailed Deer Effect Native and Invasive Plant Species Populations in the Eastern United States. Introduction Whitetail deer have come to be known as a keystone species, species known for affecting other organisms in an ecosystem. Deer are known as a keystone species in forest habitats such as in the Eastern United States because they are capable of destroying potential forest habitat of other organisms (McShea and Rappole, 1992). For example, deer have a negative impact on forest ecosystems by trampling and over browsing over vegetation, without creating any habitat for other native species. Throughout the eastern United States, the abundance of white tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) has increased dramatically over the last century (Taggart and Long, 2015). Population increases could be due to increased habitat fragmentation from land development, reduced predators and/or hunting pressure. Individual deer ranges varied during seasonal times, deer movements are usually greatest during the peak breeding months from late fall through winter (Williams et. al, 2012). Regardless of the cause, high deer densities can have significant effects on plant communities such as plant decay and/or even death. Deer consume a large amounts of plant biomass (leaves, buds, flowers and fruits) and directly reduce the growth, reproduction, and survival of herbaceous and woody plant species (Shen et. al, 2016). The impacts of white tailed deer on forests along the Eastern United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
