The Leadership Style Of Authoritarian Leadership In...
Authoritarian leadership is a leadership style in which the leader dictates and controls all
decisions in the group and task. Often referred to as Autocratic leadership, authoritarian
leadership is about control, organization and discipline. Coach Haskins Leadership Style on the
Court is authoritarian with his quota You re here to learn fundamental, disciplined defensive
basketball. Now that means discipline both on and off the court. No girls. No booze. No late
nights. Nothing besides fundamental basketball. I speak, you listen. I don t wanna hear can t or

encountered in the world of athletics. During the beginning of their season Coach Haskins

repercussions will take place. If a player dared to disrespect the rules in place, either that person
and/or the team would be put through punishment. There was no room for compromise, for
whatever coach said was to be done. For example, when coach had said there was no partying some
of the team members snuck out the first night. The next day at practice, coach had been informed of
their disobedience and had the team running sprints for punishment until they physically could not
do anymore. It happened again when coach caught Booby Joe Hill with a

Analysis Of The Movie King Kong
King Kong was first released on April 7, 1933. This version was directed by Merian C. Cooper
and Ernest B Schoedsack. The lead female role, Ann Darrow, was played by Fay Wray, and the
lead male role, Carl Denham, by Robert Armstrong. At the time, this movie was classified into three
genres: adventure, fantasy, and horror. Most importantly, the composer of this film was Max Steiner.
72 years after the original King Kong was released, a new, three hour long version was released on
December 14, 2005. Although the story line remained the same, there were some notable
differences between the two. First of all, Ann Darrow was played by Naomi Watts, and Carl Denham
by Jack Black. Second, the way Peter Jackson directed this film turned it into an adventure movie
with more action and drama than the 1933 version. One of the most prominent differences that will
be discussed in this essay, is the difference in music selections due to the different composer, James
Newton Howard.
The 1933 and 2005 versions of King Kong are constructed in slightly different ways. The 1933
version focuses mainly on the procession of Ann to the sacrifice altar. There are multiple
panoramic shots of the large group of natives surrounding her and cheering on the sacrifice.
Throughout this scene, it almost appears as though the same or very similar clips of these natives
surrounding her are used in multiple places. The sacrifice itself is also emphasized in this version
and turned into a big deal. One

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Aluminium
Aluminium, 13th element in periodic table is a silvery white metal. Aluminium is one of the most
widespread metal in the earth s crust, constituting more than 8% of earth s core mass. Aluminum is
one of the world s most abundant metals and after oxygen and silicon, aluminium is the third most
common element present on earth.
Aluminium alloys which are widely used across the globe can be produced in two different ways:
1.Primary alloys are produced from pure molten aluminium which are melted along with addition
elements to achieve desired properties.
2.Secondary alloys are produced from aluminium material scraps. These scraps are low cost in
nature. These scraps are re melted and are re classifying after adjustment for main elements to
achieve desired properties. These type of alloys generally have high level of impurities.

Animal Abuse And Neglect
Animal abuse is defined as either the physical mistreatment of an animal or neglect where the
animal is denied basic necessities of care. The mistreatment of animals is a serious issue within
society. It often goes unreported because many people believe it is only abuse if it is intentional.
This lack of understanding allows minor cases of neglect to progress into major cases that can
end in the death of the animals involved. Animal abuse needs a better definition due to the results
of neglect, psychological issues, and ethical components. Many cases of animal abuse are
unintentional ones. These are cases of neglect. Animal neglect is when an animal is being denied
one of its basic necessities to live. Neglect often comes from a place of... Show more content on

There are two basic causes to most mental disorders, genetics and environmental factors. Neglect
can end up being the environmental factor that causes an animal to develop a mental or
behavioral disorder. Now is when the question arises, do animals even have the capacity to
develop mental illnesses? Well, according to numerous veterinarians and scientists, the answer
to that is a resounding yes. Many vets are diagnosing animals with depression and giving dogs
with separation anxiety xanax prescriptions, and it is working. These animals who are being
diagnosed and treated for their mental illnesses are making complete 180 degree turns towards
being healthy and happy again. So the negative effects that neglect has on the health of animals
is real. If the animals are not catching diseases from unkempt pens, they are developing mental
illnesses from the isolation of being alone in a cage all day. While the unintentional abuse of
animals is sad and disheartening, the intentional abuse of animals is downright infuriating for
most. The intentional abuse of animals is defined as an intentional infliction of harm or suffering
on an animal. An example of this would be when the weird kid down the road hangs his neighbor
s cat from a tree by its back foot and beats it with a baseball bat. This form of abuse comes from a
completely different place than its counterpart. While unintentional abuse comes from a place of
ignorance, this form comes from a

Egypt Pyramid Be In Triangle Essay
Why Must The Egypt Pyramid Be In Triangle? An Arab proverb has once said, man fears time,
yet time fears the pyramids. People are always no match for the time, as the time pass by, people
are getting older, and may have already walk to the end of life. However, pyramids seem timeless.
They had to go through four thousand years at least, and approximately hundred and seven of them
are still extant in the world without much damage or erosion. As is known to all, the Egypt pyramid
has four triangle sides with a quadrilateral base. Due to the structure issue, and ancient Egyptian
belief, the Egypt pyramid shouldn t be any other shape but the triangle. Life in ancient Egyptwas
fairly simple. They lived near Nile River and tried to feed themselves... Show more content on

This concept was fully applied in their pyramid. First of all, the whole entire pyramidal
represents the worship to their sun god, Re. Since the fourth dynasty, the Egypt kings considered
themselves as the son of Re, and this title became the most important elements of their official.3
Therefore, when they had to build the pyramid, they will choose the plateau with the high
elevation since they thought they could have the closest contact with the sun god in there. The
side of the pyramid is an ascending triangle, which represents the element of fire, illumination ,
and energy. Whereas the wide base is symbolic of congregate, struggle, and fight, meaning
everyone was trying to get themselves out of the lowest level of the society.4 In another side,
some Egyptologists believe, the pyramid had the sloping side, so the dead pharaoh could
symbolically climb up to the sky and live forever. Since the life in this world is temporarily, but
the afterlife is eternal. All of those representations indicate the importance, and expectancy of their
afterlife, as well as the loyalty to the god. No one will ever bother to waste time and effort on a
tomb to design the shape and metaphor behind, but ancient Egyptian If the shape had been changed,

Infant Sleep Duration And Maternal Sensitivities
Infant Sleep Duration and Maternal Sensitivities Role in a Child s Psychological and Emotional
Development and Adjustment
Discussion
Poor infant sleep duration has been linked to possible problematic behavior in toddlers and their
social and emotional adjustment. Recent studies show that frequent night waking s and irregular
sleep as an infant can lead to behavior irregularities or attention and concentration difficulties as
suggested by Professor Avi Sadeh (2015). Maternal sensitivity was observed discovering it s
relation between externalizing and internalizing behavior in children, conducted by Stephanie
Bordeleau, Annie Bernier and Julie Carrier (2012). Sleep is important for a child s day time
functioning abilities suggesting interference of or insufficient sleep in infancy can interrupt a child
s developmental process as stated by Bordeleau, et al (2012).
Media Article Summary Children observed, ages 3 to 4 who experienced irregular sleep,
interrupted sleep or frequent night waking s displayed altered concentration and problematic
behavior in some, conducts Sadeh (2015). Researchers believe there is a long term effect on
interrupted sleep. This can be shown in the toddler s behavior, attention and concentration. The
research used was longitudinal and many methods were used such as an actigraphy and attention
span measurement using a computerized test done 3 4 years after the initial start of the study.
Observation was conducted by the parents and reports were used

Nobody Owens In The Graveyard Book By Neil Gaiman
Life is such a diverse and mysterious topic, is it a journey? What is its purpose? How does the
science behind it work? Well, in the book The Graveyard Book, Neil Gaiman illustrates this
beautifully, showing how the protagonist, Nobody Owens is a dynamic character and changes
throughout the story.
One way Bod changes is how he realizes that life is the journey between being born and death, and
he wants to live life to its full extent. Before, he only thought that life was a bland passage into
death and the afterlife, his world. But after some time, Bod matures and when he is getting
ready to leave the graveyard, he says to Silas what he wants to do: I want to see life. I want to
hold it in my hands. I want to leave a footprint on the sand of a desert island. I want to play football
with people...I want everything (Gaiman 133). This shows that Bod has matured over the story. ...

At the end of the book, when Bod is asking why he can t stay in the graveyard and live with Silas
forever, Silas responds that Bod still ...needs to live (Gaiman 284). This statement means that
Silas wants Bod to experience the world and live his life to the full extent he can. This changes
Bod because when Silas asks Bod whether or not he wants him to walk him to the front gate, Bod
responds that it would be Best if I do it on my own (Gaiman 134). This also shows that he has
changed and matured over the course of the storyline,

General Mclellan Dbq
General McClellan was a famous general during the civil war who lead the Army of the
Potomac. President Lincoln wanted him to move forward towards Richmond but General
McClellan would hold back until he was finally ordered to move. Him being removed can be
considered a loss but it also was a victory for the people back in Washington. George McClellan
was somewhat of a perfectionist he would not do anything till the time he didn t have it all
figured out, also he was never sure and doubted himself. Another thing that caused him issues is
that he overestimated the abilities and manpower of his enemies. George McClellan was
considered to be a perfectionist and would never take the next step until everything else wasn t
all figured out. He wanted more reinforcements but President Lincoln had to explain to him that
this would not be a wise move. The amount of time it would take President Lincoln to get him
reinforcements would be enough for the rebels or the confederates to gain upon him and be able
to take him on easily. Even though President Lincoln stayed calm he was still impatient, he
ordered McClellan and said he must move. This is because if the orders were not given McClellan
would have stayed back and would doubt him self upon when to move. [Document A and B]...

kept fearing the amount of soldiers that Lee would bring and was slowing down instead of moving

was unfit for battle and wanted more reinforcements. President Lincoln even tried to assure him
and helped him strategize by telling him that he must think like his enemy and if he continues to do
what he is instructed to do he will achieve his goal in no time. [ Documents G and

The Three Dimensions Of Celebrity Worship
There are three dimensions of celebrity worship which are consistent with the absorption addiction
model (Maltby, Day, McCutcheon, Houran, Ashe, 2005). These three dimensions are entertainment
social, intense personal, and borderline pathological. In the Entertainment social celebrity worship,
an individual develops an attraction to a favorite celebrity, which is consistent with Stever s (1991)
observation (as cited by McCutcheon et al., 2003) about the celebrity s perceived ability to
capture the attention of fans. It includes attitudes and behaviors such as My friends and I like to
discuss what my favorite celebrity has done, and Learning the life story of my favorite celebrity is
a lot of fun (McCutcheon et al., 2003).
The next level of celebrity worship is characterized by Intense personal feelings, where behaviors
and attitudes like I consider my favorite celebrity to be my soul mate, and I have frequent
thoughts about my favorite celebrity, even when I don t want to. are common (McCutcheon et al.,
2003). This is the level where the compulsive and intensive feeling of the fan towards the
celebrity is apparent as well as some occasional obsessive tendencies (Maltby et al., 2005). At this
point, people are absorbed with the life of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there is a contrasting view of celebrity worship wherein the positive roles carried out by
these fans in maintaining social networks around their favourite celebrities are emphasized
(Maltby et al., 2001). The said behaviour can be beneficial to the individual because it supports
productive social relationships, which may also serve as psychological buffer against stressors
(Maltby et al., 2001). In relation to adolescent development, parasocial interactions formed in this
stage may contribute to social, emotional, and transitional roles of adolescents (Adams Price Green,

Infosys Consulting Essay
Will Infosys Consulting be able to change the rules of the game in the consulting industry?
ICI s new rules of the game (1 1 3 model)
Infosys consulting has come up with an innovative way of performing business process consulting
operations. They are calling their model as 1 1 3 model based on the allocation of resources for
particular project. This model could be summarized in the below diagram with the significance of
the new approach highlighted in the purple callout (case p9):

So eventually all the companies in business process consulting will have to change their operations
to this model to remain competitive. So, Infosys consulting is certainly in the process of changing
the rules of the game in consulting industry.
Advantages and disadvantages of the model and base in India
Advantages:
Infosys, having based in India, has effectively capitalized on institutional voids in factor market
(HBR article 9 703 431) in this model by:
Exploiting its understanding of variable talent pool in India and using them effectively for
providing world class software solutions
Exploiting its experience in onsite offshore model software development process
Effectively applying the matrix quality measurement structure to this model to measure the
performance of every deliverable and hence increasing the quality of product with each project
Clearly Infosys is able to exploit its position of base in India. Apart from the capitalizing on
institutional voids in factor market of India, Infosys has gained additional advantages of the
geographical locations of its base. 1 1 3 model can effectively work day and night due to time

Central Pennsylvania was never known as to have been the permanent settlement for any large
group of Native Americans. It was more of a stop for traveling tribes or a place of refuge. The
Cherokees once passed through here in the early 17th century (Wallace, 1970). The Susquehannock
Indians were an Iroquois Indian tribe that settled the Susquehanna watershed before they migrated
to Maryland, near the Chesapeake Bay (Cadzow, 1936). The tribe that stayed the longest and had
the most influence on Central Pennsylvania was the Shawnee. The Shawnees were an Algonkian
people whose original home was most likely the Cumberland River in Tennessee. This southern
position gave them the name Shawnee, meaning southerners in the Algonkian language. The
Shawnees split up often and moved around a lot, they are noted to have lived in parts of
Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Their first known appearance in
Pennsylvania in great numbers was in 1697 (Harvey, 1855). The tribe had five main groups:
Chillicothe, Kispokotha, Pique, Sawekela, and the Makostrake (Johnson, 1937). These became so
intermixed that they are now indistinguishable. The reasons for these groups were mainly for

The Contributions Of Women In The American Civil War .
The Contributions of Women in the American Civil War
The Civil War was a divisive time in American history that tore the country in half for five long
years (1861 1865). After the election of Abraham Lincoln, the southern states seceded from the
north and formed the Confederate States of America because they saw their way of life being
threatened. They wanted to fight for their right to have slaves and for states to have more power.
The North (Union) fought because secession wasn t an option and they needed to preserve the
country as a union. Lincoln called on the men in the North to fight this war, but there was also an

I will talk you through what Carbon fibre is, its atomic structure, properties which then makes it the
ideal material for modern tennis rackets.
What is Carbon fibre?
Carbon fibre consist of tiny filament about 5 8 mu metres in diameter. Carbon fibre mostly contains
carbon bonds which are bonded together in a crystal Alignment. This means there are strong
covalent bonds between the molecules. Being in its crystal alignment, this gives carbon fibre a high
to strength to volume ratio which basically means it strong for its size.
For example if you could make a tow from several thousand of carbon fibres bundled ... Show more

The stiffness is high due to the carbon fibre reinforment. But it is fairly light, and fit for someone
like me.
As it is for advanced player with a large swing it needs to be pretty aerodynamic. The tension can
go up to 62 lb which definitely gives it more control and feel. With the weight the power is medium.

Describe The Benefits Of The Gold Standard
Between 1870 and 1900, most developed countries throughout the world used the gold standard.
Countries used the gold standard mainly because of Britain s steadfast of gold and that they had
the most commercial and financial significance at the time (Meissner, 2005). The gold standard
also allowed for an easier, more stable, secure way to trade with one another. Countries who
adopted the Gold Standard saw greater symmetry, and lower costs of trade (Alesina and Barro,
2002). The Gold Standard was like a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval , which was a system
of adherence between countries to have cheaper trading. The more a country adhered to the gold
standard, the less they were charged during trade. Countries, who did not adhere or only
moderately adhered, were charged a considerably higher rate during trade at this time (Bordo,
1995). This fostered an environment of a desire to adhere and participate in having your countries
currency backed by gold. However, there were times when the Gold Standard was not adhered to
at all. These exceptions to the gold standard were allowed only during times of war, a financial
crisis or shocks to terms of trade. The Unites States, Britain and France were the benefits of this
exception, saving them financially during World War I and various financial panics they had
domestically (Bordo, 1995). Furthermore, the gold standard was predominately beneficial by
linking together fixed exchange rates between countries and circumventing

During her memoir, there are multiple instances where she displays herself being stuck between
Vietnamese and American culture, but on one instance she explicitly describes her realization of

African Helmet Masks Essay
Masks are one of the most spiritually important art forms developed in Africa. Among the masks
many uses were; communicating with spirits and ancestors, serving as teaching aids in gender
specific initiation ceremonies, tools for maintaining order, enhancements for reenacted stories and
myths, symbols of rank and power, and a record for past leaders. I will be focussing on masks
from the first three categories. The masks, which are all Helmet style masks from West and Central
Africa, illustrate how artists from different tribes approached symbolism and visual storytelling.
They also show what was considered ideally beautiful for each clan. The first mask is from the
Kuba (Bushongo) tribe in the Democratic Republic of Congo;... Show more content on

Interpretation of the symbolism behind the mask varies, however the rings are thought to invoke
both the ridges of a black moth chrysalis, representing a girl s transformation into a woman, and the
ripples of water created as a leader rose from the water, the home of female spirits. The masks
elaborately braided hair and scarification also refer to the appearance of this leader and what was
considered ideally beautiful. The expression on the face is to convey the wisdom, grace, and
self control that the young women would hopefully inherit. The third mask also deals with a
secret society. This carved wood Helmet Mask (inventory # 5 13259) is thought to be from the
Bamileke society of Cameroon and is dated to about 1976. Used in a men s secret society known
as the Kwifo ( night ), masks in this style disguised the members identities as they acted as a police
force for the king. The Kwifo mediated conflicts, pronounced legal sentences, and carried out the
resulting punishments. Different masks represented the various powers of the group and the carved
headdress of this mask mirrors the prestige caps worn by elites and kings. The intertwined legs
represent the earth spider, which, because it lived underground was thought to unite the world of
the ancestors and spirits, who live in the earth, with that of humans. Revered for its supernatural
wisdom and power it is often consulted

Free Will And Determinism In Groundhog Day
In the award winning movie Groundhog Day, we are presented with a peculiar situation where
Phil (Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over. As the film progresses Phil is fathomed by
the events occurring and lives out each day as he pleases. Correspondingly, there are zero
consequences for his actions. Death, crime nor love has the ability to change the never ending
DГ©jГ vu that Phil relives every day. At the same time; Phil has no free will in reliving
Groundhog day, but does he have free will on his actions and how he spends his time on that day?
Or is each action pre determined? These are interesting concepts that will bring us to the issues
that will be discussed throughout this paper. Do we truly have free will on our actions or are they
previously determined for us? Free will and Determinism offer us different views on how we can
perceive the ultimate course of our actions and life.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Free will is the philosophical idea that we have the power to think, choose and act voluntary
without any external factors. To believe in free will one believes that we are agents who are
capable of making decisions that can alter our course of action regardless of external factors and
antecedent conditions. Do not confuse free will with political freedom, which is called liberty.
In 1924, two Chicago teenagers, Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold kidnapped and murdered a
boy named Bobby Franks. Loeb and Leopold were two bright college graduates with what
looked like very promising futures. With this in mind; why would two bright young men commit
such an act? When asked their response was just to prove they could . To prove that they could

symbolizes a compromise between the two cultures. It resolves their feelings for one another by

compromise between the Indian culture and the English culture. The burial shows that both

Miranda Warnings Essay
Miranda warnings can render a subsequent confession admissible if sufficient time has passed to
purge the taint of the illegal seizure. (Brown v. Illinois (1975) 422 U.S. 604 (even if subsequent
statements were voluntarily under the Fifth Amendment, it must be a sufficient act of free will to
purge the primary taint).) Moreover, if a defendant is unlawfully detained, incriminating or
inculpatory statements stemming from custodial interrogation are inadmissible, even if the
defendant was Mirandized and a valid waiver was obtained prior to interrogation. (Brown, supra,

In this case, Meyers was subject to an unreasonable search and seizure in violation of the Fourth

Shoulder Replacement Versus Traditional Hip Replacement Essay
Hip Replacement Versus Traditional Hip Replacement The continuous aging of the human body
combined with the stress of physical activities create a repeated stress on the joints of our bodies
that carry the potential risk of developing osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is one of the most common
forms of arthritis that is the worsening of the joints occurring particularly in the hands, knees, and
hip. Osteoarthritis occurs primarily with elderly individuals who have severely worsened their
joints leading to disability. When studying joint deterioration radiographic signs of OA include
joint space narrowing, subchondral bonesclerosis, and osteophyte formation (Bennell, Poquet,
Williams, 2016, P. 1689). These signs prove detrimental for some individuals who begin to suffer
severe pain leading to the inability of performing simple tasks such as writing and/or walking. Hip
disabilities are especially common as a result of osteoarthritis, leaving individuals with several
choices of treatment. Whether it s physical therapy, exercise, or taking medicine, these options
might not prove helpful depending on the severity of the hip joint. In this essay, I will be
comparing minimally invasive hip replacementto traditional hip replacement to determine why
someone need s a hip replacement procedure, which option more favorable, and the physical
therapy following post replacement. The gradual wear and tear that is put on the joints of our
human body causes cartilage to begin to gradually

Cowboy Myths
When you think of cowboys you think of a hero, someone who seeks adventure and thrill. But
things might not be always as it seems. A cowboy s life is not the joyous, adventurous existence
shown in the moving pictures (Bill Haywood). A true definition of a cowboy is a man, who herds
and tends cattle, specifically in the western US. We tend to focus on the mythical side of the story
and ignore the reality. In the 19th century, people thought to believe that the United Stateswas
destined to expand from the east to the west. The term manifest destiny was used to express the
belief of the English settlers and their expedition to expand their society across North America.

Tombs In Vergina
In 1977 when renowned excavator Manolis Andronikos founded the Vergina tombs the main
debate was, and still is to this day, about whom could the remains in Tomb II be identified as.
Three tombs were discovered at Vergina and the evidence found in these quickly allowed
researches to conclude that those buried at Vergina were from a family of royalty. The evidence
from the grave offerings suggested that they were buried in the later half of the 4th Century and
the age that researches identified the remains as left only two options as to who could be buried
in Tomb II; Philip II King of Macedon or Philip III of Arrhidaeus. There is a copious amount of
evidence towards both sides of this debate and no one is yet to have a definitive argument.
However, when looking at the evidence I am going to argue that Philip II is the most likely
candidate for the burials in Tomb II in Vergina. From the abundance of grave goods uncovered at

Andronicus has implied that because the frieze had a bearded man and a younger man with
distinct eyes, and that these were characteristics known to Philip II and Alexander IV that this
was therefore a painting of them and therefore Philip IIs tomb (Reference). It can be argued that
just because a painting has a man with a beard does not necessarily indicate it is Philip II and it
can also be said that the tomb did belong to Philip III and this painting was there as they were part
of his family. When Archaeologists discover ancient sites there are many factors that have to be
considered when identifying its surroundings and objects. Despite an abundance of materials
indicating that Tomb II belonged to Philip II and not Philip III of Arrhidaeus, it still cannot be

Contrary to Coca Cola executives beliefs, the Pepsi Challenge didn t necessarily prove that

notable because it proves that people don t always know what they want; they have to be told. In
the case of margarine, for instance, people weren t consciously aware that they would respond to
margarine wrapped in attractive gold foil it wasn t until Cheskin released margarine of this kind
that people discovered their attraction to such a product. It s also important to notice that Cheskin
didn t change the taste of margarine; rather, he only altered the product s presentation. Good

product itself is good, too. Cheskin s research into marketing and packaging has been very
influential, inspiring hundreds of companies to revamp their products. Once a new package or

Astrology Signs
The astrology signs go in this order: Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio,
Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces. You ve probably heard about fire signs, earth signs, air
signs, and water signs. These are the four elements. Twelve signs divided by four elements equals
3 signs per element. If you start with Aries as the first fire sign, then just skip to every 4th sign,
you ll see that the fire signs are Aries, Leo and Sagitarrius. Taurus is the first earth sign, then Virgo
and Capricorn. Gemini is the first air sign, then Libra and Aquarius. Cancer is the first water sign,
then Scorpio and Pisces.
So what does a fire sign mean? These signs tend to burn hard and fast. They start strong and then
can flame out just as quickly as they began. Do you know a person with a Aries, Leo or Sagittarius
Sun? Then you may notice that these people are a little more intensely emotional, whether that be
in happiness or anger. They may likely be more honest. And they may likely be more likely to take
action quickly and with no holds barred. These are generalities, of course. Other planets in a person

Francisco Goya Research Paper
The French Revolution, which was a critical period of reformation, was an era in which war
happened frequently. Francisco JosГ© de Goya y Lucientes was an important artist of that time,
who created many artwork that portrayed wars. In the analysis of his masterpieces, people can find
his disappointment in how people pursue freedom, their ignorance, and the brutality of the wars.
Freedom was one of the main ideas in French Revolution, but in Goya s painting, he was
disappointed in how the society fought for it. In his artwork, he showed the stupidity of how
people pursued freedom during that period. In The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters (1797
1798), Goya used the mocking owls and bats to imply folly and ignorance, while the lynx stayed

In The Disasters of War (1810 1820), he showed how brutal the French were in the invasion of
Spain. In the early plates of the series, Goya depicted the dead and injured are carried away,
soldiers strip corpses, which are then thrown into a common grave in the Plate 18 Bury them and
keep quiet (Tomlinson 1994, p.191). This picture wholly described how the war looked in Spain
during that time: how people were killed and then buried like it was a normal scenario. The
ruthlessness of the French also sent out another message that beauty is not only destroyed, but
grotesquely ravaged to attest the end of any faith in an ideal (p.193). In the paintings, people lost
their dignity, and there are no heroes countless unidentified victims in the picture, which indicate
that humanity is only ideal in the Revolution (p.202). The hand gestures in the paintings are in
motion, which emphasized the instantaneity of the climax. For example, in the painting, the
soldiers are holding arms and already stabbing it into the victims. The capture of the particular
moment reinforce the brutality of people in that

The Ethics of Using Corn or Rice to Make Fuel
Food and energy are the main issues that were mentioned the most in 21st century. The world
population has reached over seven billion by the time we are writing this essay (Worldometers,
2014). It means that the amount of food and energy consumed will be rising promptly. We do not
know whether people would choose food crops or fuel crops to satisfy their needs, but from our
point of view, producing ethanol by corn and rice is good for all economy, environment and social
benefits.
First, producing ethanol from corn or rice is really economic. The first benefit of corn based
ethanol would be on agriculture and industry. Corn is cheap and easy to produce domestically;
therefore, producers do not need to import raw material from foreign countries. Consequently,
ethanol price will be lower in comparison with other energy like oil or gas. It will lead to cheaper
transportation costs by using bio fuels. More importantly, transportations relate to every field of
the economy, so lower price of transportation will bring more profits to the whole economy.
Besides, price of corn also creep up since high demands of corn that impulse the planters income
and creating more jobs for farmers. In addition, when the government supports for corn production
on a concentrated area, maize agriculture will be more productive and effective than before. Both
consumers and producers can earn profits and that amount of profits will contributes significantly to
the nation s GDP growth. Thus, if we merge

The Creation Of The Iroquois Creation Story
The Iroquois Creation Story is set before the existence of humans as we know them, but not absent
of a physical place, or other beings. The Iroquois Creation Story has a very supernatural setting
with many mythical and magical elements. The first lines of the story stated, Among the ancients
there were two worlds in existence. The lower world was in great darkness; the possession of the
great monster; but the upper world was inhabited by mankind. The physical setting starts out in in
the upper world, but changes to the lower world when, as stated in the story, the mattress the
woman laid on sunk down towards the dark world. Eventually the setting changes one more time
when the mattress landed on the back of a turtle, and eventually changed in to an island. While
holding her, the turtle increased every moment and became a considerable island of earth. The
inhabitants of these settings are just as enigmatic as the actual setting. Mankind inhabited the
upper world we know but the lower world was the possession of the great monster . The monsters
of the lower world are never described, except we know for sure that there was a turtle where the
woman came to rest. Eventually the inhabitants of the lower world would include Enigonhahetgea
and Enigorio, who would go on to transform the setting even more. Unlike The Iroquois Creation
Story, chapter III of The Last of the Mohicans is set in a more realistic environment. There are no
supernatural elements. The author

Canadian Minister And The Canadian Prime Minister
From 1896 to 1911 Sir Wilfrid Laurier served as the Canadian prime minister. This was a period
when Canada shifted from being agricultural to being proto industrial. It was also a period of
tremendous social and political tension in Canada. Laurier s ability to compromise between the
French and the English Canadians demands is what made him very successful and defined his time
as leader. These compromises are seen through the settlement of the ManitobaSchool Question in
1896, Canadas participation in the Boer War in 1899, and the Naval Service Act in 1910.
Before delving into the study, some background seems relevant. Canada was originally a rural
nation predominately made of farmers, loggers, fishermen, and fur traders; however in the late
19th century, the country saw a tremendous transformation of its society. By the early 20th
century, the majority of Canadians were living in urban towns or cities. They were also working
in service industries for the first time. Under the Industrial Revolution, the development of new
machines saw a dramatic growth in city based factory work while there was a reduced amount
of rural trades. Canada s raw natural resources were being processed into useful products such as
lumber, textiles, and meat. As a result, Canada became a more modern, and prosperous society
than before. Under the 15 year leadership of Sir Wilfrid Laurier, Canada pursued policies that
created economic growth, and a rising standard of living for almost everyone in

The Effect Of Low Ph On Enzyme Activity
Final Applied Lab Project: The effect of low pH on Enzyme Activity
Thomas Long
Biology 6380: Introduction to Biology (2155)
Summer Semester Final Applied Lab Project
Introduction
What are Enzymes?
Enzymes are proteins that initiate change. The enzymes found in the human body are naturally
occurring. They catalyze, or accelerate, all normal biochemical reactions in the body. Enzymes are
responsible for all metabolic functions and many are vital for life itself. These proteins are highly
specific regarding what they do and under what conditions they do it (2015, Enzyme Institution).
Similar to a glove and a hand, the enzyme and substrate must fit correctly in order to work.
The reactions within cells are catalyzed by a specific type of proteins known as enzymes. Enzymes
catalyze the rate of a specific reaction by recuing the amount of energy needed to get the chemical
reaction started or the activation of energy. The activity of these enzymes is dependent upon several
different things including the shape of the molecule, and specifically the concentration of the
enzyme and substrate (hydrogen peroxide). This laboratory exercise will be conducted under a
controlled environment to determine the influence of pH on the enzyme catalase.
Pre Lab Questions
1.What do you expect to happen to the chicken when you add to the hydrogen peroxide?
I expect the hydrogen peroxide to react as an acid to the chicken and bubble or dissolve over time.
2.What is hydrogen

Often referred to as Autocratic leadership, authoritarian leadership is about control, organization and discipline. Coach Haskins Leadership Style on the Court is authoritarian with his quota You re here to learn fundamental, disciplined defensive basketball. Now that means discipline both on and off the court. No girls. No booze. No late nights. Nothing besides fundamental basketball. I speak, you listen. I don t wanna hear can t or won t or Coach, I m bleeding. I don t wanna hear anything except the basketball bounce. You play basketball my way. My way s hard. Bobby Joe This authoritarian style of leadershipis often encountered in the world of athletics. During the beginning of their season Coach Haskins demands the respect of his players. His values included listening and obeying your coach, or repercussions will take place. If a player dared to disrespect the rules in place, either that person and/or the team would be put through punishment. There was no room for compromise, for whatever coach said was to be done. For example, when coach had said there was no partying some of the team members snuck out the first night. • 3. Analysis Of The Movie King Kong King Kong was first released on April 7, 1933. This version was directed by Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B Schoedsack. The lead female role, Ann Darrow, was played by Fay Wray, and the lead male role, Carl Denham, by Robert Armstrong. At the time, this movie was classified into three genres: adventure, fantasy, and horror. Most importantly, the composer of this film was Max Steiner. 72 years after the original King Kong was released, a new, three hour long version was released on December 14, 2005. Although the story line remained the same, there were some notable differences between the two. First of all, Ann Darrow was played by Naomi Watts, and Carl Denham by Jack Black. Second, the way Peter Jackson directed this film turned it into an adventure movie with more action and drama than the 1933 version. One of the most prominent differences that will be discussed in this essay, is the difference in music selections due to the different composer, James Newton Howard. The 1933 and 2005 versions of King Kong are constructed in slightly different ways. The 1933 version focuses mainly on the procession of Ann to the sacrifice altar. There are multiple panoramic shots of the large group of natives surrounding her and cheering on the sacrifice. Throughout this scene, it almost appears as though the same or very similar clips of these natives surrounding her are used in multiple places. The sacrifice itself is also emphasized in this version and turned into a big deal. One ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Neglect can end up being the environmental factor that causes an animal to develop a mental or behavioral disorder. Now is when the question arises, do animals even have the capacity to develop mental illnesses? Well, according to numerous veterinarians and scientists, the answer to that is a resounding yes. Many vets are diagnosing animals with depression and giving dogs with separation anxiety xanax prescriptions, and it is working. These animals who are being diagnosed and treated for their mental illnesses are making complete 180 degree turns towards being healthy and happy again. So the negative effects that neglect has on the health of animals is real. Countries used the gold standard mainly because of Britain s steadfast of gold and that they had the most commercial and financial significance at the time (Meissner, 2005). The gold standard also allowed for an easier, more stable, secure way to trade with one another. Countries who adopted the Gold Standard saw greater symmetry, and lower costs of trade (Alesina and Barro, 2002). The Gold Standard was like a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval , which was a system of adherence between countries to have cheaper trading. The more a country adhered to the gold standard, the less they were charged during trade. Countries, who did not adhere or only moderately adhered, were charged a considerably higher rate during trade at this time (Bordo, 1995). This fostered an environment of a desire to adhere and participate in having your countries currency backed by gold. However, there were times when the Gold Standard was not adhered to at all. These exceptions to the gold standard were allowed only during times of war, a financial crisis or shocks to terms of trade. • 25. Free Will And Determinism In Groundhog Day In the award winning movie Groundhog Day, we are presented with a peculiar situation where Phil (Bill Murray) relives the same day over and over. As the film progresses Phil is fathomed by the events occurring and lives out each day as he pleases. Correspondingly, there are zero consequences for his actions. Death, crime nor love has the ability to change the never ending DГ©jГ vu that Phil relives every day. At the same time; Phil has no free will in reliving Groundhog day, but does he have free will on his actions and how he spends his time on that day? Or is each action pre determined? These are interesting concepts that will bring us to the issues that will be discussed throughout this paper. Do we truly have free will on our actions or are they previously determined for us? Free will is the philosophical idea that we have the power to think, choose and act voluntary without any external factors. To believe in free will one believes that we are agents who are capable of making decisions that can alter our course of action regardless of external factors and antecedent conditions. Do not confuse free will with political freedom, which is called liberty. In 1924, two Chicago teenagers, Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold kidnapped and murdered a boy named Bobby Franks. Loeb and Leopold were two bright college graduates with what looked like very promising futures. With this in mind; why would two bright young men commit such an act? When asked their response was just to prove they could . To prove that they could ;indeed, do any action they aspired to do on their own free will. • 28. Shoulder Replacement Versus Traditional Hip Replacement Essay Hip Replacement Versus Traditional Hip Replacement The continuous aging of the human body combined with the stress of physical activities create a repeated stress on the joints of our bodies that carry the potential risk of developing osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is one of the most common forms of arthritis that is the worsening of the joints occurring particularly in the hands, knees, and hip. Osteoarthritis occurs primarily with elderly individuals who have severely worsened their joints leading to disability. When studying joint deterioration radiographic signs of OA include joint space narrowing, subchondral bonesclerosis, and osteophyte formation (Bennell, Poquet, Williams, 2016, P. 1689). These signs prove detrimental for some individuals who begin to suffer severe pain leading to the inability of performing simple tasks such as writing and/or walking. Hip disabilities are especially common as a result of osteoarthritis, leaving individuals with several choices of treatment. Whether it s physical therapy, exercise, or taking medicine, these options might not prove helpful depending on the severity of the hip joint. In this essay, I will be comparing minimally invasive hip replacementto traditional hip replacement to determine why someone need s a hip replacement procedure, which option more favorable, and the physical therapy following post replacement. The world population has reached over seven billion by the time we are writing this essay (Worldometers, 2014). It means that the amount of food and energy consumed will be rising promptly. We do not know whether people would choose food crops or fuel crops to satisfy their needs, but from our point of view, producing ethanol by corn and rice is good for all economy, environment and social benefits. First, producing ethanol from corn or rice is really economic. The first benefit of corn based ethanol would be on agriculture and industry. Corn is cheap and easy to produce domestically; therefore, producers do not need to import raw material from foreign countries. Consequently, ethanol price will be lower in comparison with other energy like oil or gas. It will lead to cheaper transportation costs by using bio fuels. More importantly, transportations relate to every field of the economy, so lower price of transportation will bring more profits to the whole economy. Besides, price of corn also creep up since high demands of corn that impulse the planters income and creating more jobs for farmers. In addition, when the government supports for corn production on a concentrated area, maize agriculture will be more productive and effective than before. Both consumers and producers can earn profits and that amount of profits will contributes significantly to the nation s GDP growth. Thus, if we merge ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Iroquois Creation Story has a very supernatural setting with many mythical and magical elements. The first lines of the story stated, Among the ancients there were two worlds in existence. The lower world was in great darkness; the possession of the great monster; but the upper world was inhabited by mankind. The physical setting starts out in in the upper world, but changes to the lower world when, as stated in the story, the mattress the woman laid on sunk down towards the dark world. Eventually the setting changes one more time when the mattress landed on the back of a turtle, and eventually changed in to an island. While holding her, the turtle increased every moment and became a considerable island of earth. The inhabitants of these settings are just as enigmatic as the actual setting. Mankind inhabited the upper world we know but the lower world was the possession of the great monster . The monsters of the lower world are never described, except we know for sure that there was a turtle where the woman came to rest. Eventually the inhabitants of the lower world would include Enigonhahetgea and Enigorio, who would go on to transform the setting even more. This was a period when Canada shifted from being agricultural to being proto industrial. It was also a period of tremendous social and political tension in Canada. Canada was originally a rural nation predominately made of farmers, loggers, fishermen, and fur traders; however in the late 19th century, the country saw a tremendous transformation of its society. By the early 20th century, the majority of Canadians were living in urban towns or cities. They were also working in service industries for the first time. Under the Industrial Revolution, the development of new machines saw a dramatic growth in city based factory work while there was a reduced amount of rural trades. Canada s raw natural resources were being processed into useful products such as lumber, textiles, and meat. As a result, Canada became a more modern, and prosperous society than before. The Effect Of Low Ph On Enzyme Activity Final Applied Lab Project: The effect of low pH on Enzyme Activity Thomas Long Biology 6380: Introduction to Biology (2155) Summer Semester Final Applied Lab Project Introduction What are Enzymes? Enzymes are proteins that initiate change. The enzymes found in the human body are naturally occurring. They catalyze, or accelerate, all normal biochemical reactions in the body. Enzymes are responsible for all metabolic functions and many are vital for life itself. These proteins are highly specific regarding what they do and under what conditions they do it (2015, Enzyme Institution). Similar to a glove and a hand, the enzyme and substrate must fit correctly in order to work. The reactions within cells are catalyzed by a specific type of proteins known as enzymes. Enzymes catalyze the rate of a specific reaction by recuing the amount of energy needed to get the chemical reaction started or the activation of energy. The activity of these enzymes is dependent upon several different things including the shape of the molecule, and specifically the concentration of the enzyme and substrate (hydrogen peroxide). This laboratory exercise will be conducted under a controlled environment to determine the influence of pH on the enzyme catalase.
