Community Scholarship Essay
A young person should strive to support their local community for various reasons. Engaging in
community service provides people with the opportunity to become active members of their
community and has a lasting, positive impact on society at large. Community service and
volunteerism enables one to acquire life skills and knowledge, as well as provide a service to those
who need it most.
Supporting the community is a way to give back, it s a learning experience, it strengthens the
community, promotes personal growth and self esteem, it brings people together, it makes you feel
good, it s an investment to the area you work and live and most importantly it allows you to make a
difference.
I have been able to develop real world skills that has helped me to succeed both in school and at home.

Essay On Antiotemporal Swarms
In this section, we introduce the main contribution of this paper. We design a single database scan
efficient method to mine various kinds of spatiotemporal swarms using four kinds of pruning methods
which reduce the computational cost. Then, we discover some significant trajectory locations and
strong relationships among the objects. The following subsections formalize the concepts and
introduce a detailed description of the proposed method.

These kinds of swarms mining are significant that is why we propose periodic swarms mining and
reduce the complexity and redundant swarms we use parsimonious periodic swarm mining. After that,
we motivated to find the similar groups of users and find the important locations depends on time on
trajectory networks.
The following two examples give an intuitive explanation of our method. Let, $min_{object}= 2$ and
$min_{time} = 2$ in these examples.

Figure ref{fig3} shows the basic structure of the environment. There are 5 moving objects $O_{db} =
left{o_1, o_2, o_3, o_4, o_5right}$, 4 timestamps $T_{db} = left{t_1, t_2, t_3, t_4right}$ and 4
locations $L_{db} = left{L_0, L_1, L_2, L_3right}$. It is clear to see that at the location $L_0$
create short time swarm at timestamps $(t_1, t_2, t_3)$ and at location $L_2$ create short time swarm
at timestamps $t_4$ though there are no common objects. On the other hand, it shows that $o_3$ and
$o_4$ travel together from time $t_1$ to $t_2$ at locations $L_0$. According to the given threshold
value we find the long time spatiotemporal swarm is $(left{o_3, o_4right}, left{t_1, t_2right},
L_0)$. It also long time spatiotemporal close swarm because there are no super set. In this case, two
timestamps $t_1$ and $t_2$ are consecutive.

Accordingly, the Company generally recognizes revenue for the sale of products obtained from other
companies based on the gross amount billed. For certain sales made through the iTunes Store, the
Company is not the primary obligor to users of the software, and third party developers determine the
selling price of their software. Therefore, the Company accounts for such sales on a net basis by
recognizing only the commission it retains from each sale and including that commission in net sales
in the Consolidated Statements of Operations. The portion of the sales price paid by users that is

Which is why I decided to run the National History Challenge with the SIDE Year 9. I decided not to
make the challenge compulsory instead I focused on developing interest in the extra curriculum
activity amongst the Year 9 cohort. Around half of the Year 9s I taught at SIDE were referral students;
referral students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of physical, social and
cognitive disabilities. I really enjoyed the challenges of working with most of these students, however,
when a few of my referral students volunteered for the National History Challenge I was nervous, as
these were not students whom I would have selected for additional extra curriculum work. Most of
these students had high levels of anxiety and stress, which is why they were in the referral program,
consequently I had some concerns about the pressure the challenge might have placed on them. I
worked hard with these students, offering small group SABA classes to allow them to collaborate,
sharing their ideas and providing each other with constructive feedback. I also scheduled fortnightly
individual check in meetings where we discussed their progress and developed individual work
completion plans. Their interest and enthusiasm for their selected topics really reinforced how
important it is to set high expectations for all students regardless of circumstances.

Essay On Aussie Air Negotiations
Introduction
The Aussie Air negotiations were a series of five party talks between Down Under Air (DUA), the
Aussie Air Shareholders (AAS), Aussie Air Management, the Federal Government and the Aussie Air
Workers Unions. I was the united unions spokesperson for the negotiations, representing their interests
in order of priority: job security, current management s contract length and stock prices. This paper
will review the contents of the negotiations, relating them to key ideas and concepts gleaned from
research and lectures through thorough reflection and critical analysis. It will discuss the success of
the negotiations, the tactics used to claim value, the methodology of creating value, and the revision of
strategies with dynamic relationships as new information emerged. It will also examine the politics of
coalitions formed and the observations of cognitive biases and emotions.
The Negotiations Success
To comprehensively evaluate the success of the negotiations, there has to be a panoramic range of
measures to ensure favourable and/or fair outcomes on all fronts. ACME Engineering crafted
measures to expand the definition of success, some of which I used to discover successes and failures
in different aspects of the negotiations (Ertel 1999, pp. 60 62).

An Analysis Of Hoch s Photomontage s Spirit Of Our Time
Hoch s photomontage was one of many collages that criticized the cultural staleness, depravity, and
decaying values of the German state. Through her depiction of German politicians and technology in a
state of chaos and confusion, she was effectively able to convince the German people to reevaluate
their faith in the government and current cultural values. She used the fast advancing technology of
the time (especially mass media) in also advancing her own goals of sardonically criticizing the
failings of the German state as well as pushing for gender equality. The other Berlin Dadaist, Raoul
Hausmann, created the combine, Spirit of Our Time: Mechanical Head, to criticize the German public
s dependence on tools and industry to think and rationalize, stripping away what he perceived made us
human (Crockett, 173). The title, Spirit of Our Time, is a metaphor for the German people s inability
to enact the change and reform needed to rebuild a better Germany after the horrendous world war
(Doherty, 82). The wooden head represents current state of the German people whose extent of
thought and logic can only be experienced by the mechanical tools affixed to the outside of his head.
The tools attached to his head include a ruler and a tape ruler, a pocket watch, a jewelry box
containing a typewriter wheel, a telescopic beaker, and some brass knobs from a camera
(artfactory.com). These objects each have some significance to the thoughts that the wooden head is

Lower East Side Sociology
The Lower East Side formerly once joined with the East Village is home to many working class
families, many of whom are foreign born. Over the past 50 years, this neighborhood has gone through
many changes, both negative and positive. Located in Manhattan, the Lower East Side is surrounded
by 14th street, the East River, Bowery, and the Brooklyn Bridge. This area today has faced
gentrification and has also faced many housing developments that threaten the character of the
community. The LES has gone from once considered a slum to be one of the trendiest neighborhoods
today in New York City. One of the first groups that settled in the Lower East Side in the 19th century
were Germans. Due to the German immigration, the Lower East Side became ... Show more content

The rise of juvenile delinquencies was at its highest between 1951 and 1960 in the Lower East Side
compared to all of the New York City neighborhoods (Mele, 2000, p.138). Heroin contributed to the
surge of crime in the LES and its use was very popular among the poor. Crime was rampant in the
LES and it was mostly evident around avenues east of Avenue B where most Puerto Ricans lived.
When the Puerto Ricans first entered the Lower East Side, they became scapegoats to the LES s crime
problem. They were labeled as criminals of the neighborhood. Gang violence was very prominent and
active which was due to common turf wars between minority youth gangs (Mele, 2000). They were
also blamed for the reappearance and spread of the slum present already in the Lower East Side. By
1953, as Puerto Ricans in migration peaked, slum committees were pressed to deal with the growing
Puerto Rican problem . To deal with the Puerto Rican problem , there was an urban renewal project
put into place called the Puerto Rican Removal Plans , where they relocated many Hispanic families
from poor neighborhoods into other poor areas when they couldn t discourage Hispanic migration to

Effect Of Postimpressionists On The Next Generation Essay
Postimpressionism
Postimpressionism was a movement in late 19th century French painting that emphasized the artist s
personal response to a subject. Postimpressionism takes its name from an art movement that
immediately preceded it: Impressionism. But whereas impressionist painters concentrated on the
depiction of a subject s immediate appearance, postimpressionists focused on emotional or spiritual
meanings that the subject might convey. Although impressionist artists interpreted what they saw, their
approach nevertheless remained rooted in observation of the natural world. Postimpressionists
conveyed their personal responses to the world around them through the use of strong, unnatural
colors and exaggeration or slight distortion of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unnaturally blocky forms of the bathers bodies conform to the angularity of the trees that frame
them. To unify different parts of the composition, he used shades of green, brown, and blue
interchangeably in the depiction of sky, earth, flesh, and foliage. The unfinished quality of Cézanne s
paintings and his choppy, unblended brushstrokes convey the immediacy of his personal experience.
His technique appealed strongly to other postimpressionists seeking ways to evoke emotional
responses in viewers.
Seurat and van Gogh also drew their subjects from the world around them; Seurat concentrated
primarily on the urban life of Paris, while van Gogh focused on rural scenes. The symbolist
movement, a literary movement that stressed the expression of the artist s inner vision as the purpose
of art, influenced both artists, along with Van Gogh s friend Paul Gauguin.
While in Paris in 1886, Vincent van Gogh experimented briefly with neoimpressionism, but found its
techniques too restrictive. Instead, he used broader brush strokes and incorporated large zones of
single colors into his compositions. A former preacher, van Gogh gave his paintings a spiritual charge
through technique, subject matter, and color. The thick, energetic brushstrokes in Crows in the
Wheatfields (1890), which he painted just two and a half weeks before his suicide, suggest turbulence.

Singer s Principle Of Equality
Singer s principle of equality is the equal, impartial consideration of all like interests (Singer, p. 20). It
is a non factual principle that presents an ideal, normative approach, rather than reflecting how the
world actually looks. It relates to racism as it is the neglect of the interests of a race, or the
prioritisation of a race that leads to racist policies (Study Guide, p. 63). Principle of equality would
require the interests are weighed impartially, and seeing as weighing interests based on race is as
arbitrary as hair colour or names and therefore irrelevant, it would eliminate much blatant racism.
Singer (p. 27)holds even if different averages in IQ among different races were found, it wouldn t
result in different treatment as intelligence doesn t affect basic human interests. This doesn t rule all
forms of racism, interests based on beliefs and statements, or attitudes and emotions are still
considered (Study guide, p. 58). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
88) states that the total version of utilitarianism is about maximising the utility of all existing beings
and all possible beings within the world. On the other hand, prior existence view of utilitarianism is an
approach that only cares about the utility of those that exist or will exist regardless of our actions
(Study Guide, p. 71). Total view utilitarianism (TVU) would advocate overpopulation (as it increases
overall utility), whereas prior existence utilitarian (PEU) would completely ignore future generations.
Consider the current discussion of the government forcing contraception on women on welfare. Ignore
right based approaches of bodily autonomy. The idea would be to avoid these women being a burden
and diverting resources away from existing children and to seek work/education. PUV would consider
that overall utility is higher as the resources aren t stretched, yet a TVU would disagree, they would

The History Of Han China
Though the people of Islamic belief are scattered throughout China, the greatest concentration of
Muslims reside in the autonomous region of Xinjiang. This region is distinctly non Han in its ethnic
composition, since the Uyghurs account for nearly 75 percent of its population; the cultural makeup of
this region is comprised of Turkic language and beliefs in Islam (Clarke and Hayes 3). However, the
influx and growth of the Han Chinese population in Xinjiang has created a language barrier in which
the Uyghurs have become the regional minority. In the past, the Uyghurs have been continuously
oppressed and silenced by their rulers. Even today, the Uyghur are subject to unfair treatment in
respect to education and professional opportunities. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the revolution, the CCP attempted to reconcile by introducing policies allowing ethnic and
religious expression. This allowed Uyghur scholars to express their versions of history and culture,
which was not always consistent with Chinese rhetoric.
Unfortunately, China is taking steps back on their allowance of Islamic and Uyghur language
expression in Xinjiang. In March 2017, China banned burqas and abnormal beards in Xinjiang
claiming the action as a crackdown on religious extremism (Dearden, China bans... ). In July 2017,
China went back on their allowance of Uyghur language in schools by banning its use in Xinjiang
(Staff, RFA. China Bans... ). In September 2017, the Chinese police ordered Muslims to hand in
copies of the Koran and prayer mats (Heffron, Chinese police... ). All of these efforts have been
claimed to regulate and reduce extremism.
One of the distinguishing characteristics between the Uyghurs and Han is the language, a difference
that can be detrimental for Uyghurs looking for success within the dominating Han society. While the
Han use Mandarin, the Uyghurs use a Turkic derivative that is significantly divergent. The Uyghurs
believe that their language is central to their ethnic identity and refuse to allow it to be forgotten
beneath the pressure of Mandarin use. However, it is difficult for

Mail Order Brides
Mail Order Brides Don t Just Yearn For Citizenship
It has been a long held prejudice that women from countries where their opportunities are limited,
marry men from more financially developed countries just to gain citizenship. These women were
long thought to be pursuing an international marriage in order to gain more preferable rights, have a
more sophisticated lifestyle, and gain an abundant amount of money. Although these could very well
be the motives of some, not all international or mail order brides marry for these reasons.
Although many people may not realize, the concept of mail order brides had an ample responsibility in

Men see the mail order brides as women that will do anything to make themselves marketable enough
to gain citizenship and money, therefore they know they could easily get ride of her and acquire a new
wife. There has been four recent cases of American men murdering their mail order bride (Frater). One
of the most well known cases is that of Anastasia King. She was a woman from Kyrgyzstan who was
found brutally strangled and buried in a Washington state grave site in December of 2000 (Frater).
Allegedly her husband, Indle King, wanted another bride and was unwilling to pay for a divorce so he
and his house tenant proceeded to pin her down and strangle her with a necktie (Frater). It was later
learned that he had also physically assaulted a previous mail order bride. These women enter new
relationships almost completely blind sighted and as a result of this stereotype they may not always be
safe ones.
Women and men from around the world are being linked together and creating connections even if
they have never personally met before. There are approximately between 4,000 and 6,000 marriages

Cultural Relativism In America
Cultural relativism is the idea that morality is about objective facts, and different communities have
different morals. Just because they may be different than other communities, it doesn t mean they are
wrong. Gensler points out several problems with this idea, the biggest one being that it forces us to
conform to society. Gensler uses an example with a figure skater named Lika Rebel who is from a
Nazi country. Even though the majority of the society believes that putting Jews in concentration
camps is okay, she disagrees. If you were to apply cultural relativism, Lika wouldn t be able to think
otherwise because it is what her society approves of and is believed to be good. Many of the changes

I. Background to the crisis in Syria
Protests asking for the release of political prisoners began mid March 2011 and were immediately met
by Syrian security forces who at first detained and attacked protestors with batons, and later opened
gunfire, and deployed tanks and naval ships against civilians. Syrian President Bashar al Assad
refused to halt the violence and implement meaningful reforms demanded by protestors such as the
lifting of emergency law, broader political representation and a freer media. Assad continued to deny
responsibility for the attacks on protestors, placing the blame for the violence on armed groups and
foreign conspirators instead. On 16 February President Assad called for a referendum to be held on 26

According to Syrian National Council representatives in Geneva, over 1,000 civilians were killed in
the first two weeks of April, with shelling and mortar fire in the northern village of Marea and the city
of Homs on 10 April. Reports from Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch highlighted
ongoing rights abuses, from the arrest of minors to extrajudicial executions. The impact of the conflict
began taking its toll on the countries bordering Syria, with over 24,000 Syrians occupying the Turkish
refugee camp of Kilis, which reportedly came under fire from government forces on 9 April;
meanwhile Lebanese opposition leader Amin Gemayel has voiced concern that the fighting could spill

Descriptive Analysis of Statistical Data
Final Project: Statistics II Descriptive analysis of statistical data INTRODUCTION There have always
been crimes, from a treachery to an assassination. Happens in every country you can think of, and
every government has to deal with it. It is really stressful to try to understand the nature of the crimes:
why are they done and where could they happen next. Out of this preoccupation is that we found
studies gathering data from communities; we focused on one specific crime: murders. In several
communities, it is thought that the murder rate is somehow related to several factors. For instance, it is
common to hear that the murder rate depends on poverty and unemployment. Starting from this
hypothesis, the database found to make this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now we are using the equation given at the partial F test. It is common that some times one of the
independent variables (in this case, percentage of families with income below $5000 and percentage
people unemployed) may be linearly related with another independent variable. In other words, there
may be a pair of explanatory (independent) variables that measure the same thing or that they depend
on each other, so it is recommended to drop one of them because having both causes instability in the
model. This means that the equation wouldn t be as precise as it should. This issue is called
multicollinearity. To prove if this is the case in our study, we calculated some numbers called
correlation coefficients and variance inflation factors. Basically, the rule is that if one of the
correlation coefficient between a pair of explanatory variables is higher than 0.9 there is evidence of
multicollinearity. Another criteria is that if the variance inflation factor of each explanatory variable is
higher than 10, there is a case of multicollinearity, as well. In our study, multicollinearity was not an
issue. Another issue when having more than 1 independent variable as predictors is that the presence
of one of them may affect the prediction capacity of the other. For being sure that this wasn t
happening, we proceeded to perform a stepwise procedure. In this procedure one variable is entered to
the equation at a time, and

The Equal Pay Act 1970 is an Act of the United Kingdom Parliament which prohibits any less
favourable treatment between men and women in terms of pay and conditions of employment. It was
passed by Parliament in the aftermath of the 1968 Ford sewing machinists strike[1][2][3][4] and came
into force on 29 December 1975. The term pay is interpreted in a broad sense to include, on top of
wages, things like holidays, pension rights, company perks and some kinds of bonuses. The legislation
has been amended on a number of recent occasions to incorporate a simplified approach under

C. The wage gap
17. There are several dimensions to the problem of the wage gap: First, there is the classic case of a
man and a woman doing exactly the same job (whether in a factory or on the stock market floor), but
the woman being paid less for it. This used to be a common problem, especially in Western Europe,
and many countries have outlawed this type of wage discrimination there even exists an ILO
Convention designed to eliminate it21, dating back to 1951, as well as a 1975 European Council
Directive22. But, as several recent studies conclude, even this type of classic wage discrimination

The Bitter Taste Of Vanilla
As the bitter taste of vanilla extract went down my throat, I wondered how exactly I let this person
fool me. The person in question was my oldest sister. I was around 9 at the time. My parents were out,
leaving my older siblings to watch my 10 year old sister and me. My sister had convinced us that
vanilla extract tasted just vanilla cake. Since both of us were fans of cake, we were excited to drink it.
I should have seen the warning signs. She told us that if we didn t like it, we were not allowed to spit it
out or get a drink of water. We still stupidly agreed to do it. I took a swig of the extract and
immediately spit it out. My sister made me drink more of it. It burned my mouth and left me in tears.
After this horrific incident, my other sister, who had managed to drink it without problem, and I
consoled each other. My sister does not remember this, but I do and it taught me an important
message. Never give anyone, including family, your full trust. Any child that grew up with siblings
has felt the wrath of their brothers or sisters. Whether they are older or younger, siblings can cause a
lot of damage. They can teach you a lot about trust. You always have to wonder why a sibling is being
nice to you for no apparent reason. They were not nice because they loved you, but because they
wanted to do or get something from you. My siblings could be coldhearted for their own gain. I
learned to watch my back. As I grow older, I can see how this small lesson my sister taught

Analysis Of The Unfinished Dance, By Margaret O Brien
This weekend Christina Wehner is hosting the En Pointe Blogathon, a three day event celebrating
films that spotlight that beautiful and centuries old form of dance known as ballet. One of the most
overlooked Metro Goldwyn Mayer films of the 1940s The Unfinished Dance just so happens to
revolve around ballet, and so I have chosen to call attention to this rarity as well as to Ballerina ( 1937
) which was based on the same story.
Both of these pictures are about a ballet student who accidentally cripples a famous ballerina when she
throws the switch on the onstage trap door, causing the dancer to plummet to her career ending doom.
Is she dead?
She broke her leg..... For a dancer, it is worse than death
In The Unfinished Dance ( ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While The Unfinished Dance bears some resemblance to the original film, it cannot and should not be
compared to Ballerina as a remake. They are two separate films with marked differences. One major
contrast between them is the underlying theme of the pictures. In Ballerina, it is all about the dance.
To dance is to live; to dance is to breathe.
The Dance is greater than all our personal troubles, remarks Karine in one scene.
In The Unfinished Dance, Meg s guilt takes center stage. Ballet becomes Meg s redemption. Director
Henry Koster did a wonderful job of creating a disquieting atmosphere of tension in all of the scenes
featuring O Brien. Meg is a hapless victim of a foolish and childish prank that she herself conceived
and her guilt causes her to see the jail bars closing in on her. Every whisper is a personal threat to her
safety. Every policeman an agent of Justice out to capture her. Margaret O Brien plays out the
psychological tension that Meg feels with great skill, especially considering she was only nine years
old at the time of filming, while Koster treats these sequences as though it were Robert Mitchum on
the screen, running from another thoughtless crime he committed in haste.
However, audiences didn t appreciate this peek into the mind of a child criminal, and the film lost
nearly $1,800,000 upon its release. It was the only Joe

How Does Montresor Plan To Kill Fortunato
The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as best I could; but when he ventured upon insult, I
vowed revenge. ... I must not only punish, but punish with impunity. (Poe, 233)
Some of Montresor s very first words when he is telling the story show that he wants revenge against
Fortunato. By saying, I must not only punish, but punish with impunity, it is shown that he intends to
get away with the deed he plans to commit.
It must be understood that neither by word not deed had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my
goodwill. I continued, as was my wont, to smile in his face, and he did not perceive that my smile now
was at the thought of his immolation. (Poe, 234)
By this point in the story, Montresor is clearly planning to kill Fortunato. While to Fortunato he
appears friendly and cheerful, he is secretly thinking of ways to murder his friend. Montresor does not
want Fortunato to suspect anything, as is shown in the sentence, It must be understood that neither by
word not deed had I given Fortunato cause to doubt my goodwill. ... Show more content on

I had told them ... not to stir from the house. These orders were sufficient ... to ensure their immediate
disappearance ... . (Poe, 235)
Here, Montresor is using reverse psychology in order to ensure that none of his servants would be at
his house at the time of the murder. With nobody around, there would be no eyewitnesses to reveal the
deed.

Vertical Hour, Face
The Vertical Hour, Face, and What It Is are all very different novels with very different genres. The
Vertical Hour is a dramatic play written by David Hare. The play features three people, and one of
whom is a professor in a university who is still trying to figure things out. Face is a compilation of
poems written by Sherman Alexie. The poems are based on some times in Alexie s life and his
identity. What It Is is a graphic novel written by Lynda Barry. The novel features stories and pictures
about growing up. The play, poems, and graphic novel are quite different in terms of their genre, but
what is on the inside of the books is what brings them together. The Vertical Hour, Face, and What It

Focusing on their identity, culture, and lives growing up, they made stories and poems out of it in a
fun and creative way. Alexie and Barry s lives were very different apart from each other, but the same
effect can be made. They both went through tough and difficult times no matter what it was, and
ended up making the most out of it. The Vertical Hour does not have this in common. Instead of
focusing on her life growing up, it is about her life now and how she is handling it. This can really
compare and contrast the way children handle their lives versus adult s handling their lives. Of course
adults make the tougher and harder decisions in life, and everything they do can hugely impact them.
But children start the base of their own lives before they become adults, and this ultimately shapes
them. No one can be an adult without first being a child. This is very obvious, but not in a certain way.
Before growing up and being responsible, children have to make dumb and stupid decisions. Alexie
barely wrote about this and Barry definitely did not. But this is a fact, in order to learn from mistakes,
we have to make these mistakes. Otherwise we would eventually just keep repeating the same
mistake. Learning from them is what moves us past them and truly grow up. Nadia, in The Vertical
Hour, learned from her mistake of quitting being a war reporter and went back

Main Sources Of Cost Data
POSSIBLE SOURCES OF COST DATA
We are requested to assist the building with creating a method of construction cost data for client
throughout the pre contract. The task of data collection is a difficult procedure and can be include to
wide variations. Based upon our experience as quantity surveyors we chose to develop a cost data
collection method. Our define construction line items and quantities for relativity building types.
The method that provides the best opportunity for cost data collection was noted as the Bills of
Quantity method. This method appears to have advantages over the other methods but yet even with
the Bills of Quantity method some potential pitfalls exist.
A Bill of Quantity is basically a listing by trade of certain construction components that make up the
total project. The project may be a building. The Bill of Quantity documents quantities for each
element of the building type such as cubic meters of concrete foundations or square meters of roofing
material. Bill of Quantity is used frequently to assist in developing tenders or bids for projects. The
Bill of Quantity will be provided by the quantity surveyor. Once the quantity of concrete footing is
known a unit price to cover for material, labor and equipment is applied to develop the cost of each
line item or component. The total project is basically include of all the individual line items.

Betrayal Trauma Theory Paper
According to the BTT (Betrayal Trauma Theory), a sexual or domestic abuse victim can exhibit a
deeper trauma if the betrayal originates from a person the victim shared a close relationship with. This
comes to show deception from a close individual will have a greater impact than hate from a foe.
There are multiple components that come into play when explaining the reasons why an injustice from
a friend can cause such distress. There are two reasons that tend to stand out the most, which could
possibly be the most influential. First of all, a friend has gained trust from the victim and can thus be
perceived as a trustworthy person. A friend is the one who helps the victim with difficult life events
and life choices; such as the death of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No one expects to be betrayed by someone they hold close and dear to them. Someone who has helped
them, someone they have chosen to confide in, someone who the victim thought would protect them
from harm without knowing the person they should have been wary of was the individual they cared
for. On the other hand, the foe is their enemy for a reason. They are meant to be causing harm to the
victim who is already prepared for such attack. The victim knows what is expected of their enemy,
what they should be prepared for mentally and physically. The unforeseen events are justification for
the ample internal damage from a betrayal compared to the resentment from an antagonist. Although
many would say the hostile party is able to influence the mental, emotional, and physical state of the
sufferer to a greater degree than a one time betrayal but compare it to a natural disaster and a terrorist
attack. When a natural disaster occurs, the public is warned beforehand of the events to come in order
to prevent as much damage as possible while in a terrorist attack it is unforeseen. The attacker is able
to cause more harm to those involved without the victims being able to prevent it. In this instance, the
natural disaster would represent hate from a foe because it is preventable while the terrorist attack
would represent a betrayal from a friend which has never been avoidable. The enemy has always been
seen as a person

Essay on Contrast Between Catholic and Baptist Religion
Ask most people today if they have heard of Baptist and Catholic religion and most would say yes. In
many ways the two are very similar. For instance, both are based on the Christian faith, belief in the
trinity, and that God is the one true God. The two religions agree that Jesus died on the cross and rose
again to atone for our sins. They share a 27 book New Testament and insist that salvation comes from
Christ alone. On the other hand, while the Baptist and Catholic religions do have similarities, they also
have differences, such as their services, communion, and views regarding salvation. The first
difference between the two religions is their services. Roman Catholic services are held in sanctuaries
that are richly decorated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Baptists offer prayer to God through Christ during the service and reject the practice of praying to
Mary and the saints. The services are not nearly as laid out and ordered, with much less participation
by the church members during the service. . The second difference evident between the religions is the
partaking of Communion. In the Catholic Church, Communion is a very sacred act, and the members
are encouraged to receive it frequently. Communion is offered at each service and is always presided
over by the priest. The members believe that they are consuming the actual body and blood of Christ
during Communion, and are required to fast at least one hour prior to receiving it out of respect.
Communion is believed to be the most important of the seven sacraments by the church and required
to obtain salvation. On the other hand, Baptists rarely partake of Communion, and is usually reserved
for special occasions like Easter and Christmas. Some Baptist churches may partake every few months
or quarterly. Although, the pastor of the church normally presides over Communion, any member
designated by the church can do so. Baptist religion does not support the rule of fasting prior to
Communion, and believe it to be a symbolic reverence to Christ. It is not believed that the actual body
and blood of Christ are consumed during Communion. The

The Company President Of Peregrine Trucking
The company President of Peregrine Trucking has decided to make saving fuel, a primary focus on the
continuous efforts to become leaner and more efficient. Any type of fuel savings will have a direct
impact to the bottom line of profitability. This additional income can be better utilized towards
additional investments that will lead to sustainability and the goal of having a green supply chain.
Strict government regulations, customer requirements, pressure from environmentalists, and requests
by the general public have made being conscientious of creating an eco friendly business necessary.
Several key process improvements and equipment upgrades have been identified that will assist
Peregrine Trucking in reaching the goal of continuous improvement on fuel savings. These
investments will not only impact fuel, but other added benefits will be realized as well. The speed of
service will be improved in addition to better focus on customer service and more reliable equipment.
The following proposed ideas are strongly suggested to obtain the desired outcome of fuel savings:
phase out the current trucks in use to more modern fuel efficient models, improve upon the plan for
scheduled maintenance, implement maximum allowable speed limits by installing limiting devices,
invest in new technology to better utilize the fleet and reduce the amount of wasted time and space,
and changing company policy in regards to rules and employee training.

The Relationship Of Child Abuse And Father Daughter
The relationship of child abuse and father daughter incest
Angelica Flores
Washington State University Abstract
Father daughter incest is defined as any sexual act with a family member that is blood related or
closely related. Father daughter incest is the most common type of incest; this is more common than
mother son incest. Research shows that women are more likely to be sexually abused by men because
men are said to be stronger than women. Men can easily abuse women so women feel like they have
no other choice but letting themselves go. Psychotherapy is a way of therapy to help women with
insidious backgrounds. This essay contains different findings researchers have found from different
incest victims. Incest is defined as sexual intercourse or any type of sexual act with a family member
or any person closely related to the child. Incest can also be defined as a relationship with a step
parent/step child even if they are not blood related. The topic of incest is a very controversial subject
and can be seen as a taboo in the society because depending on the cultures, different cultures have
different thoughts on incest. Although incest can be viewed in different ways, incest is still considered
sexual abuse, simply because a child cannot give consent until the age of 18. Incest affects the child
physically, emotionally, and physiologically. Signs of incest/sexual abuse include unexplained injuries,
changes in behavior, or inappropriate sexual behavior to other

We design a single database scan efficient method to mine various kinds of spatiotemporal swarms using four kinds of pruning methods which reduce the computational cost. Then, we discover some significant trajectory locations and strong relationships among the objects. The following subsections formalize the concepts and introduce a detailed description of the proposed method. begin{figure}[htp] centering includegraphics[width=0.9textwidth]{figure/arc} caption{System Architecture.} label{figure:arc} end{figure} subsection{System Overview} label{systemoverview} Figure ref{figure:arc} depicts the system architecture of our ... After that, we motivated to find the similar groups of users and find the important locations depends on time on trajectory networks. The following two examples give an intuitive explanation of our method. Let, $min_{object}= 2$ and $min_{time} = 2$ in these examples. begin{myex} Figure ref{fig3} shows the basic structure of the environment. There are 5 moving objects $O_{db} = left{o_1, o_2, o_3, o_4, o_5right}$, 4 timestamps $T_{db} = left{t_1, t_2, t_3, t_4right}$ and 4 locations $L_{db} = left{L_0, L_1, L_2, L_3right}$. It is clear to see that at the location $L_0$ create short time swarm at timestamps $(t_1, t_2, t_3)$ and at location $L_2$ create short time swarm at timestamps $t_4$ though there are no common objects. On the other hand, it shows that $o_3$ and $o_4$ travel together from time $t_1$ to $t_2$ at locations $L_0$. According to the given threshold value we find the long time spatiotemporal swarm is $(left{o_3, o_4right}, left{t_1, t_2right}, L_0)$. It also long time spatiotemporal close swarm because there are no super set. In this case, two timestamps $t_1$ and $t_2$ are consecutive. end{myex} begin{figure}[htp] centering ... I decided not to make the challenge compulsory instead I focused on developing interest in the extra curriculum activity amongst the Year 9 cohort. Around half of the Year 9s I taught at SIDE were referral students; referral students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have a variety of physical, social and cognitive disabilities. I really enjoyed the challenges of working with most of these students, however, when a few of my referral students volunteered for the National History Challenge I was nervous, as these were not students whom I would have selected for additional extra curriculum work. Most of these students had high levels of anxiety and stress, which is why they were in the referral program, consequently I had some concerns about the pressure the challenge might have placed on them. I worked hard with these students, offering small group SABA classes to allow them to collaborate, sharing their ideas and providing each other with constructive feedback. I also scheduled fortnightly individual check in meetings where we discussed their progress and developed individual work completion plans. Their interest and enthusiasm for their selected topics really reinforced how important it is to set high expectations for all students regardless of circumstances. Professional Practice I ... Essay On Aussie Air Negotiations Introduction The Aussie Air negotiations were a series of five party talks between Down Under Air (DUA), the Aussie Air Shareholders (AAS), Aussie Air Management, the Federal Government and the Aussie Air Workers Unions. I was the united unions spokesperson for the negotiations, representing their interests in order of priority: job security, current management s contract length and stock prices. This paper will review the contents of the negotiations, relating them to key ideas and concepts gleaned from research and lectures through thorough reflection and critical analysis. It will discuss the success of the negotiations, the tactics used to claim value, the methodology of creating value, and the revision of strategies with dynamic relationships as new information emerged. It will also examine the politics of coalitions formed and the observations of cognitive biases and emotions. • 8. An Analysis Of Hoch s Photomontage s Spirit Of Our Time Hoch s photomontage was one of many collages that criticized the cultural staleness, depravity, and decaying values of the German state. Through her depiction of German politicians and technology in a state of chaos and confusion, she was effectively able to convince the German people to reevaluate their faith in the government and current cultural values. She used the fast advancing technology of the time (especially mass media) in also advancing her own goals of sardonically criticizing the failings of the German state as well as pushing for gender equality. The other Berlin Dadaist, Raoul Hausmann, created the combine, Spirit of Our Time: Mechanical Head, to criticize the German public s dependence on tools and industry to think and rationalize, stripping away what he perceived made us human (Crockett, 173). The title, Spirit of Our Time, is a metaphor for the German people s inability to enact the change and reform needed to rebuild a better Germany after the horrendous world war (Doherty, 82). The wooden head represents current state of the German people whose extent of thought and logic can only be experienced by the mechanical tools affixed to the outside of his head. The tools attached to his head include a ruler and a tape ruler, a pocket watch, a jewelry box containing a typewriter wheel, a telescopic beaker, and some brass knobs from a camera (artfactory.com). The rise of juvenile delinquencies was at its highest between 1951 and 1960 in the Lower East Side compared to all of the New York City neighborhoods (Mele, 2000, p.138). Crime was rampant in the LES and it was mostly evident around avenues east of Avenue B where most Puerto Ricans lived. When the Puerto Ricans first entered the Lower East Side, they became scapegoats to the LES s crime problem. They were labeled as criminals of the neighborhood. Gang violence was very prominent and active which was due to common turf wars between minority youth gangs (Mele, 2000). They were also blamed for the reappearance and spread of the slum present already in the Lower East Side. By 1953, as Puerto Ricans in migration peaked, slum committees were pressed to deal with the growing Puerto Rican problem . • 11. Effect Of Postimpressionists On The Next Generation Essay Postimpressionism Postimpressionism was a movement in late 19th century French painting that emphasized the artist s personal response to a subject. Postimpressionism takes its name from an art movement that immediately preceded it: Impressionism. But whereas impressionist painters concentrated on the depiction of a subject s immediate appearance, postimpressionists focused on emotional or spiritual meanings that the subject might convey. Although impressionist artists interpreted what they saw, their approach nevertheless remained rooted in observation of the natural world. To unify different parts of the composition, he used shades of green, brown, and blue interchangeably in the depiction of sky, earth, flesh, and foliage. The unfinished quality of Cézanne s paintings and his choppy, unblended brushstrokes convey the immediacy of his personal experience. His technique appealed strongly to other postimpressionists seeking ways to evoke emotional responses in viewers. Seurat and van Gogh also drew their subjects from the world around them; Seurat concentrated primarily on the urban life of Paris, while van Gogh focused on rural scenes. The symbolist movement, a literary movement that stressed the expression of the artist s inner vision as the purpose of art, influenced both artists, along with Van Gogh s friend Paul Gauguin. While in Paris in 1886, Vincent van Gogh experimented briefly with neoimpressionism, but found its techniques too restrictive. Instead, he used broader brush strokes and incorporated large zones of single colors into his compositions. A former preacher, van Gogh gave his paintings a spiritual charge through technique, subject matter, and color. The thick, energetic brushstrokes in Crows in the Wheatfields (1890), which he painted just two and a half weeks before his suicide, suggest turbulence. Dark birds hover in a brilliant blue sky ... • 12. Singer s Principle Of Equality Singer s principle of equality is the equal, impartial consideration of all like interests (Singer, p. 20). It is a non factual principle that presents an ideal, normative approach, rather than reflecting how the world actually looks. It relates to racism as it is the neglect of the interests of a race, or the prioritisation of a race that leads to racist policies (Study Guide, p. 63). Principle of equality would require the interests are weighed impartially, and seeing as weighing interests based on race is as arbitrary as hair colour or names and therefore irrelevant, it would eliminate much blatant racism. Singer (p. 27)holds even if different averages in IQ among different races were found, it wouldn t result in different treatment as intelligence doesn t affect basic human interests. Mail Order Brides Mail Order Brides Don t Just Yearn For Citizenship It has been a long held prejudice that women from countries where their opportunities are limited, marry men from more financially developed countries just to gain citizenship. These women were long thought to be pursuing an international marriage in order to gain more preferable rights, have a more sophisticated lifestyle, and gain an abundant amount of money. Although these could very well be the motives of some, not all international or mail order brides marry for these reasons. She was a woman from Kyrgyzstan who was found brutally strangled and buried in a Washington state grave site in December of 2000 (Frater). Allegedly her husband, Indle King, wanted another bride and was unwilling to pay for a divorce so he and his house tenant proceeded to pin her down and strangle her with a necktie (Frater). Just because they may be different than other communities, it doesn t mean they are wrong. Gensler points out several problems with this idea, the biggest one being that it forces us to conform to society. Gensler uses an example with a figure skater named Lika Rebel who is from a Nazi country. Even though the majority of the society believes that putting Jews in concentration camps is okay, she disagrees. Syrian President Bashar al Assad refused to halt the violence and implement meaningful reforms demanded by protestors such as the lifting of emergency law, broader political representation and a freer media. Descriptive Analysis of Statistical Data Final Project: Statistics II Descriptive analysis of statistical data INTRODUCTION There have always been crimes, from a treachery to an assassination. Happens in every country you can think of, and every government has to deal with it. It is really stressful to try to understand the nature of the crimes: why are they done and where could they happen next. Out of this preoccupation is that we found studies gathering data from communities; we focused on one specific crime: murders. In several communities, it is thought that the murder rate is somehow related to several factors. For instance, it is common to hear that the murder rate depends on poverty and unemployment. Starting from this hypothesis, the database found to make this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now we are using the equation given at the partial F test. It is common that some times one of the independent variables (in this case, percentage of families with income below $5000 and percentage people unemployed) may be linearly related with another independent variable. In other words, there may be a pair of explanatory (independent) variables that measure the same thing or that they depend on each other, so it is recommended to drop one of them because having both causes instability in the model. This means that the equation wouldn t be as precise as it should. This issue is called multicollinearity. To prove if this is the case in our study, we calculated some numbers called correlation coefficients and variance inflation factors. Basically, the rule is that if one of the correlation coefficient between a pair of explanatory variables is higher than 0.9 there is evidence of multicollinearity. Another criteria is that if the variance inflation factor of each explanatory variable is higher than 10, there is a case of multicollinearity, as well. In our study, multicollinearity was not an issue. Another issue when having more than 1 independent variable as predictors is that the presence of one of them may affect the prediction capacity of the other. For being sure that this wasn t happening, we proceeded to perform a stepwise procedure. In this procedure one variable is entered to the equation at a time, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are several dimensions to the problem of the wage gap: First, there is the classic case of a man and a woman doing exactly the same job (whether in a factory or on the stock market floor), but the woman being paid less for it. The Dance is greater than all our personal troubles, remarks Karine in one scene. In The Unfinished Dance, Meg s guilt takes center stage. Ballet becomes Meg s redemption. Director Henry Koster did a wonderful job of creating a disquieting atmosphere of tension in all of the scenes featuring O Brien.
