Essay Weber s Approach to Religion and Sociology
Weber s Approach to Religion and Sociology Weber s general approach to sociology is known as
verstehen sociology; that human action is directed by meaning and that action can only be understood
by appreciating the world view of the social actor concerned. Since religion is an important
component of the social actors world view, religious beliefs can direct social action, and hence bring
about social change. In The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, Weber explores the
relationship between religious ideas and social change, attempting to show how the ideas and beliefs

Another factor, more emphasised by Troeltsch was the rejection of the canonical veto on usury. These
characteristics were also important factors in the development of business. The Protestant Ethic
matched the Spirit of Capitalism. Thus, the religious beliefs of Protestantism coupled with the
presence of the necessary economic conditions resulted in the development of the capitalist system.
The importance of Weber s work is its recognition of the importance of ideas and beliefs in the process
of social change. He is not saying that religion always causes change, simply that it can be an
important factor. This is a position that will be developed further, and in terms of a rounded position of
the role of religion, is the most tenable the answer about the role is most likely to always be; it
depends!
Weber s theory has been subject to considerable criticism, indeed it is a classic dispute in sociology.
The main criticisms are that Weber mislocated capitalism (historically); misinterpreted protestantism;
misunderstood catholicism and misplaced causality.
What it is important to remember however is that the criticisms apply to the example that Weber uses
protestant belief/capitalism. There are numerous other examples that can demonstrate the usefulness
of his idea.
The It depends approach
It would seem clear that there can be no

South in the former confederate states for their own financial and political gain (Black 1). According
to Britannica, This created corrupt ripples throughout the southern states typically involving financial
schemes left largely unchecked due to the turmoil in that region (Britannica 1). These cases are really
the first major occurrences in which we see blatant corruption in American history linked to money
and poor judgement by elected officials. This is not democratic capitalism by any means this is abuses
of power. According to Bob Burnett, Democratic capitalism...These countries feature strong judicial

Pearl Harbor Effect
December 7, 1941, a day that will live in infamy. Those exact words, spoken by President Franklin D.
Roosevelt were in response to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which changed the course of
American History forever. Many people don t know how or why the Japanese did what they did to
Pearl Harbor. Some people believe they did it out of hatred for the United States, others believe that it
was for a step up in the war. This paper focuses mainly on the events leading to the bombing of Pearl
Harbor, the chaos it created, and the aftermath of this devastating tragedy. There are very few people
in the world today that actually know what influenced the bombing of Pearl Harbor. In 1937, Japan

air and naval strength on the Pacific coast. However, three aircraft carriers that were attached to the
Pacific Fleet escaped, because they were not at Pearl Harbor at the time. The Arizona and the
Oklahoma were the only two of the eight battleships that were able to be repaired and return to
service. Probably the only good outcome of this attack was that they failed to destroy the only oil
storage facilities on the Island. December 8, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President
Franklin D. Roosevelt gave his most famous speech A date which will live in infamy , and finally
declared war on Japan.
After the dust cleared a few days later, people started pointing fingers. Admiral Husband Kimmel and
General Walter short were the Army and Navy Commanders at the time of the attack, so people started
blaming them. Shortly after they were relieved to duty later investigations showed that there was
know knowledge of the attack on anyone. When people saw those Japanese fighter planes appear over
the Pearl Harbor sky, not one of them thought that it was going change the course of American history
forever. The Japanese didn t just attack out of hatred; it was out of their eagerness for power and
supplies. This lead to the start of one of the most tragic World War the United States has seen. That is
why December 7, 1941 is known as a date that will live in

Miner Narrative
Title of story Everything was bad until they came. Then everything turned even worse. They wore of
red and black, soldier color. Their horses galloping without rest, soldier horses. These bad boys would
kick you until you stop breathing. Well this is new, I said to myself. Citizens! one shouted, Your
presence is requested at the royal palace of the king. The villagers started whispering all the sudden.
Last time soldiers came, nine people went missing including 3 children. I deeply didn t care about this
because I spent 23 hours a day working in the mines. I m a miner hence the name Miner. Everyone of
the village must come or face death, another soldier said. This actually change my point of view, I had

Only royal road was only for nobles or messengers. The village walked all day only stopping for four
hours everyday. The king obviously wanted to rush us there for something important. I didn t think too
much of it because all I did was look at the sky all day. She was my only friend. As days pass by, so
did the villagers spirit. They had never liked this trek in the first place. Their bleeding feet told without
words. One even started begging the soldiers. The soldier didn t give her anything, but he did give
meat for the wolves. This kingdom is ruled by fear, I thought to myself. More days have passed and
more bodies have fallen, seven in total. All were just peasants trying to make a living. The village let
out a heavy sigh when we finally reach the castle. It was sturdy castle, but definitely outdated. Any
nation in the world can destroy it in a few days. All around the castle were slaves picking apples in
cruel conditions. It was actually better than some jobs like farmer. They had enough food and could
always rely on shelter. The funny thing was that they tried not to look at us. That s when I realize they
were actually trying to hide their faces. Something was wrong here and only one person was to blame,

Evaluation Of A Student For Special Education Essay
In order for a student to be eligible for special education services, the regular education teacher
discovers that there is a problem. From there, a screening must take place. The screening can consist
of hearing, vision, communication, and any other type that may be needed. Permission is not needed
in order to do a screening.
Next, Response to Intervention begins, also known as RTI. This provides levels or tiers of increasingly
intensive instruction to help students master academic content. Tier 1 takes place in a regular
classroom setting. Tier 2 involves and allows the student to go out to a specialty teacher. Tier 3 mainly
takes place in a special education classroom. Tier 3 requires more one on one instruction for the
student from the teacher. RTI serves two purposes support struggling learners and identify students
with learning disabilities. Parents are invited to take part in their child s RTI process. Other school
professionals also take part during the RTI process to meet the child needs. Research Based
Interventions are used during the RTI process. Data is gathered during the RTI process on a regular
basis. After a few weeks, the team meets again to determine how beneficial the interventions are for
the child. If RTI is working, it is continued, if RTI is not working, a meeting takes place where the RTI
data is presented. Then the referral process initiates.
The referral process commences with an Admissions and Release Committee known as ARC. Here,

There are several things that can be concluded from oil price MC simulation on GT values. First, there

The Problem Of Human Development
Experts have spent centuries attempting to obtain the secrets of human development and identify the
exact science behind it. Experts have not been able to discover any exact influences of normal human
development, nor have they been able to uncover the exact causes of developmental abnormalities
(Disabilities). What they have found can seem quite confusing and has caused much debate among
those trying to tackle the answer to the question. Is ones developmental trajectory determined by the
highness of their genetics or what they experience from the environment to which they are raised?
Because of the spectrum of disciplines that this subject crosses the weight of unanswered questions far
exceeds the amount of answers questions and most of those answers lead to more questions. As
confusing, frustrating, and interminable as all this may seem, the complexities have not discouraged,
instead have encouraged further exploration into the subject.
It has long been established that without development human survival. Development is essential for
the continuance and sequentially survival of every species, including but not limited to, the human
species. Equally as mystifying, are the differentiations of development from one human to another.
How is it that one human develop more effectively than another? If development is essential to the
survival of the human race why do some not develop enough skill to survive on their own? Charles
Darwin believed that one human having abilities

The Importance Of Trust In The Movie Finding Forrester
In the movie Finding Forrester, the amount of trust in someone can be shown upon how good of a
relationship one has with another. Jamal, a high school student, secretly has a passion for writing.
Dared by friends, Jamal sneaks into an apartment and accidentally forgets his book bag. When he
returns to the apartment the next day, he not only finds numerous edits within his writings, but he also
figures the mystery of who lives in the apartment. Jamal finds out that a guy by the name of William
Forrester lives in the apartment and was a former author himself. Forrester is an older man who agrees
to mentor Jamal in writing, and agrees to continue to revise and edit his papers. As Jamal visits
Forrester more often, their relationship grows along with the trust they have in one another. In Finding
Forrester, being in comfortable settings will allow relationships and trust to develop as individuals
grow with one another. As people s relationships grow, the amount of trust in eachother becomes
greater. Movielocity (2001) stated, Jamal encounters not only his first fan, but a mentor who will
challenge and change him forever, and Forrester has his first reason in years to emerge from his self
imposed solitude (p. 1). Forrester and Jamal rely on each other in multiple aspects of life; therefore, as
their relationship grows, trust grows along with it. Jamal pushes Forrester outside of his comfort zone
by bringing him out into public for the first time in 40 years. For his birthday,

The Princess Ideal Beauty And The Beast
As I walk down Main Street USA at Disneyworld in Florida, with the smell of fresh baked candy
sitting in the air, and seeing the dressed up characters walking around, seeing all the little girls dressed
up as their favorite princesses, I can t help but wonder how Walt Disney took something from his
imagination and made it into what it is today. Growing up, every little girl dreams of being just like
the princesses that they see in their favorite Disney films. Whether that be Jasmine from Aladdin, or
Belle from Beauty and the Beast, every little girl dreams of finding their own prince charming, getting
married, and living in a castle far far away. Even when we look around in our society, we see the
princess ideal that is shown to young girls, where ever we look we are shown this. When little girls
first see a Disney Princess, they are presented with the ideal women, long perfect hair, flawless skin,
small waist, and long legs. Also, most of the time (minus Cinderella) always have flawless clothing
that they wear. This appeals to almost every little girl that sees this, and reinforces the ideal that little
girls need to be like the princesses that they see on the movie and television. Disney has regularly
played up the role of the female in their films and television shows. Now, whenever we look back at
these movies and television shows as we are older, we can now see these roles that we could not see as
children. Now, when we watch a Disney film, or show, we are

Gilgamesh Theme Of Death
Death, its implications, and unanswered mysteries are foremost concerns to the characters of
Gilgamesh. At once an impetus for action and an existential fear, the complex role of death is
especially evident in the aftermath of Enkidu s demise, which forces Gilgamesh to confront his own
relationship to mortality. This confrontation ultimately reveals a central dissonance within Gilgamesh,
as a king and warrior, he wields near absolute power over his enemies and subjects, yet he is impotent
to prevent the death of Enkidu. A major aspect of Gilgamesh s reaction to the loss of Enkidu s is his
desire to circumvent death, thereby asserting power over it. Gilgamesh promises Enkidu a jewel
encrusted statue, and calls upon both civilization and the

Mark David Chapman and The Cather in the Rye
On December 8, 1980, John Lennon of the Beatles was shot and killed outside of his apartment
complex in New York City. The man who shot Lennon, Mark David Chapman, was found just a few
feet away from Lennon s body, reading The Catcher in the Rye. Unbecomingly, Chapman used the
book as his excuse for murdering Lennon. In court, Chapman used the novel as his statement and even
signed his copy of the novel as Holden Caulfield, the novel s protagonist, believing himself to actually
be Caulfield. Because of this, John Lennon and the book will be eternally connected. However,
Lennon s death is not the only parallel to be drawn between Holden Caulfield and Lennon; the
similarities between Holden and Lennon are almost uncanny. Their views on religion are virtually
identical; and if they were to be switched, one would be unable to distinguish one from the other.
Among other things, the two both suffered from very significant losses in their families, Lennon
having his mother die and Caulfield, his younger brother. Both of these events seriously shaped their
views on life and their behaviors. Lastly, they both dealt with rejection throughout their lives; Holden
feels rejected by just about every person he meets and John Lennon s father left him when he was only
five years old, which later proves to be an emotionally crippling event in his life. In all, Holden and
Lennon share a mutual fate in their similarities and will be forever connected by the horrendous act
against Lennon in

Oskar Schindler was a businessman he owned a factory that made pots and pans in 1939. He was a

process for Schindler. Some may say that the idea of rescuing the Jews just developed as Oskar

believe that Oskar was impulsive and the rescuer.
Oskar Schindler was impulsive and just acted before he thought. In the movie, that our class just

that they would live through the war. The Jews did not hold Schindler to his promise because they

The Protest Psychosis Summary
Psychiatry and psychology have struggled in the past to contextualize the nature of mental illness.
Through this struggle, mental illnesses and their symptoms have been used as a means of controlling
deviance and pathologizing emotions felt by certain groups of people. Social, political, and historical
factors create the boundaries of sanity and insanity in which hegemonic, institutional power control
minority groups, however, the manner in which these boundaries manifest have shifted over time.
Jonathan Metzl in his book The Protest Psychosis: How Schizophrenia Became a Black Disease
explores the manner in which mental illness is used by institutions to control deviance through his
examination of how the anti psychiatry movement, subsequence ... Show more content on

1960s and 1970s. Racist bias structured in social and political institutions pathologized the unrest and
anger felt by African American communities and thus incarcerated disproportionally high numbers of
Black men under the guise of mental illness. Ultimately, this pathologizing of emotions felt by African
American communities persists today. The manner in which Black men and women express anger is
pathologized by society and it warps how the public perceives unrest in the Black community,

Loss of Species Due to the Biodiversity Crisis
The seriousness of the current biodiversity crisis and the increasingly loss of species diversity have
aroused the boldness in conservationists to propose not so conservative solutions. Such as an attempt
to restore in our present environment the wildlife diversity lost in the Pleistocene period. This
proposal is incited by Donlan et al. (2006) that call for restoration of missing ecological functions and
evolutionary potential of lost North American megafauna using extant conspecifics and related taxa .
This essay will discuss the possible positive effects brought by the Pleistocene rewilding and its major
impediments. And it is perceptible that the obstacles in translocating species similar to those that have
been extinct for millennia in North America are so many, and its plausibility so controversial, that this
adventurous proposal requires a lot of reflection and scientific labor before being considered a
reasonable solution.
In the Americas, many mammals and their commensals were lost in the end of the Pleistocene epoch,
about 13,000 years ago (Martin 2005) and with them, many ecosystem processes and services were
lost. The Pleistocene rewilding intends to bring back the biodiversity that vanished 13,000 years ago,
reinstituting ecological and evolutionary processes that were transformed or eliminated by megafaunal
extinctions (Donlan et al. 2006). Pleistocene rewilders also advocate this conservation strategy based
on aesthetic and ethical grounds; they argue that

Ethics and the Pharmaceutical Industry
1. Introduction Over the past couple of decades, a sudden change has started to take over the way
business is done. The time when no rules applied, and anyone could do what they pleased at the cost
of others or the environment is rapidly ending. Instead, companies today have become aware that it is
essential for them to employ ethics and morality in their actions, if not they will be heavily scrutinized
and rejected by the public. This way of thinking also applies to the pharmaceutical industry, which
over the past century has been rapidly expanding. Do to the fact that this industry can determine the
health and lives of millions of people, it is imperative that this industry follow an ethical and moral
path. When talking about ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though the pharmaceutical industry has made great improvements to human health and quality
of life, like creating drugs for the treatment of AIDS, cancer, and other diseases, an increasing tension
is growing between the public and the industry. These thoughts are fueled by issues such as drug
pricing, affordable health care, and the battle against epidemic diseases in third world countries; social
critics wonder whether this multi billion dollar industry is giving enough back to the community and
fulfilling its social responsibility. But the question still remains, how has ethics become involved in
the pharmaceutical Industry? To understand this better, I will briefly talk about the history of the
industry. In the late 19th and early 20th century key discoveries, such as insulin and penicillin, were
made. These medicines were needed in large quantities, and thus allowed major companies that we
know today to begin the mass manufacture and distribution of these. In order to test and approve drugs
and to require appropriate labeling legislation was enacted. As the pharmaceutical industry grew,
prescription and nonprescription drugs became legally distinguished from one another. From the 1950
s on, numerous new drugs were developed and mass produced, including the first oral contraceptive,
Cortisone, blood pressure drugs, etc. In 1960 Valium

Some of the disadvantages are: limiting the vendors may limit the variety of products, relinquishing
inventory control over to vendors and distributors may negatively impact their customer satisfaction,
and the customers may decide to deal with supplier directly which could put Best Buy at risk of
loosing their business. Inventory levels over the past 4 years have remained on an increasingly
consistent track as their revenue has risen. According to Best Buy (2010), this rise in revenue and
assets is partly due to the fact that they enter new markets and open new stores across the world. The
latest opportunities that they have come across include new stores in Europe and other areas overseas.
This is new territory for Best Buy but has been a successful venture based on their flexibility with

Mate Selection
Mate selection is an evolutionary process in which selection is dependent on the attractiveness of an
individual s phenotypic trait, such as age and sex. For example, women feel that reliability,
dominance, wealth and generosity are important in a mate, while men believe attractiveness and
creativity are important. Women investment more time in searching for a mate because women are,
typically, responsible for birthing and raising a child and need a mate that would protect her and their
offspring and provide for them. Men, on the other hand, do not invest much in mate selection. When
resources are scarce, women seek resources in their mate and man look for attractiveness. However,
the goal is to locate the best possible mate. Age differences

Examples Of Tension In Antigone
Every person has their own idea of how they want their life to turn out. In the play Antigone,
Sophocles conveys the message that each character s opinion gave conflict with another, creating
collision and tension. The play is filled with different problems among the characters that builds up
into a tragic ending. It starts off with Antigone wanting to bury her brother, Polyneices; even when
Creon, the king, announced that death was the punishment of doing such an act.
First, Antigone and Ismenê s conversation consisted of complex and compound complex sentences.
Antigone explains why she wants to bury her brother; aware of the punishment Creon is prepared to
give. In the Prologue, Antigone states, He is my brother. And he is your brother too. (191) Ismenê
refuses to honor her brother because of Creon s laws, as she says, But think of the danger! Think what
Creon will do! (191) Ismenê was stressed on the fact that she did not want her sister, Antigone to take

Chemical Structure 1: Isopentyl alcohol Chemical Structure 2: Acetic acid Chemical Structure 3:
Isopentyl acetate Chemical Structure 4: Sulfuric acid Chemical Structure 5: Sodium bicarbonate
Chemical Structure 6: Sodium chloride Chemical Structure 7: Anhydrous sodium sulfate Reaction:
Mechanism: First. We weight the 10 ml graduated cylinder and record the data for 37.87g. Then put
5ml isopentyl alcohol and weight it with the 10 ml graduated cylinder for 41.94g. So, we get the
isopentyl alcohol weight is 4.07g. Then, we also weight 7ml glacial acetic acid and put it into the 10
ml graduated cylinder. We add 1 ml sulfuric acid and put it into the 10 ml graduated cylinder too.
After we mix all of the liquid, we put a boiling stone in the flask. Next, we good connection device
like the picture. Then heating under reflux. Before reflux, we should check it. First, we should wait
until the liquid began to boil and the color was changing to brown. Then, continue to heat for 75
minutes. After 75 minutes, we stop it. And we need to cool the liquid to the room temperature. Then
we ready 10ml ice water to cool the liquid. After cooling it, we put the liquid in the separatory funnel.
And we should add 5ml saturated aqueous sodium to separate it. After first separate it. Then add 5ml
saturated aqueous sodium chloride to separate it. Then transfer the liquid to a 25 ml round bottom
flask. After one week, we first weight the sample mass. Then put our sample to another group s
graduated cylinder. And weight the combine mass. Then put the sample into a distillation unit. To
begin the distillation and record the boiling point range. And we should also weight the mass after
distillation. We can calculate the percentage yield.

Small Town Culture
Living in a small town is all about tradition. Every Friday night during the fall, the entire community
is at the football stadium, going crazy after every touchdown. You ve lived and gone to school with the
same people your entire life. The line between family and friends starts to blur. You have to be careful
who you date because they may actually be a distant cousin. Sadly, a small town isn t the most liberal
or open minded of places.
With a predominantly white population of approximately 3,700 people, Sweeny is the epitome of a
small southern town. We have one stoplight, and the main buildings in the town are the three schools.
You can imagine the discomfort and insecurity a closeted gay Hispanic teenager felt.
Once I began high school, I began noticing little things that didn t seem quite right. Most of them
centered on the fact that I seemed to find guys more attractive than girls. Ashamed of myself, I pushed
these feelings to the furthest reaches of my mind. Boys had girlfriends; girls had boyfriends. It was the
way things were meant to be; anything else was wrong and perverse. Despite constant self reassurance

Dostoevsky s Notes Form The Underground
INTRODUCTION: Fyodor Dostoevsky s Notes form the Underground explores the suffering brought
by isolation from society. Dostoevsky suggests that while it is impossible to escape the pain of
isolation, he affirms it is necessary to save oneself from the modern society and the romantic self. The
inevitably of suffering and the absence of consciousness is Dostoevsky s example of the human
condition of the Enlightenment era that is tragic but rather truthful. He presents The Underground Man
as a nihilist who is dissatisfied with his 19th century Russian context. The protagonist thus represents
Dostoevsky s worldview in his critique of the Enlightenment project including its romantic alternative
and so of the west as a whole. The notion of consciousness and mental suffering become apparent as
the reason of The Undergrounds Mans desire to alienate himself from society who can never accept
him. He is entrenched by his excessive conscious inertia that inhibits his action. This renders the
fragmented protagonist to experience life in a vicarious manner with shame and depravity. Dostoevsky
argues that while it is possible for The Underground Man to indulge in his conscious thinking, the
modern world does not encourage autonomy and authenticity Paragraph 1: Consciousness, reason/
rationale The values of the enlightenment lack reason and rationale, in a sense that individuals are not
encouraged to ponder on their purpose, and standardised belief system. This is

Their indecisive commitment kept them in between the two sides as they would patiently wait, aloof
from the conflict, until they were either liberated by the Americans or absolutely certain that the
British would retain effective control of Nova Scotia. (qtd in Bennett pg 135) Neutrality had many
benefits including increased trade with the British forces for the Halifax merchants, as Bennett states
Material incentive and the prospect of war profits secured the vocal support and loyalty of some Nova
Scotians . (qtd in Bennett 142). Most people were heavily reliant on the British Navy for protection
and continued to supply British troops for their own benefits. (Bennett 142) Also, Halifax was the
center of a large British naval and military base. As Wilms states the strong military presence made it
virtually impossible for any sort of active revolution. (qtd in Wilms) Although their influence did not
stretch across all of the settlements the base provided simple trade and protection from warfare. This
influenced many to stay neutral even if their fundamental beliefs had most likely lied with the rebels.
(Bennett 139)
Overall, based on multiple influences Nova Scotia decided to reside in the American Revolution and
stay neutral. Their lack of influence on the war was largely determined by spiritual revival, economic
salvation and independent ideology. In our modern society most citizens would go to extraordinary
lengths to protect loved ones, which is very similar to the Scotians. Some going against basic beliefs
they ultimately chose to benefit themselves. Although not taking the risk may have eliminated the
chance to create new identities and move into a new era built directly on their own

The reason that they are the most reactive elements is because they have seven valence electrons, and
they easily can gain one from multiple other elements to form a compound. Stability is met when an
element has eight electrons in their valence shell, so they easily can bond with other elements.
Fluorine, the element with the highest electronegativity on the periodic table, is the most reactive
element on the periodic table. The most reactiveness goes from the lowest to the highest in the
Halogen Family. Compounds found within the halogen group consist of hydrogen fluoride, sodium
chloride, potassium iodide, hydrogen bromide, and and silver chloride.
Noble gases make up group 18 in the periodic table. These are the elements that make up the noble
gases: Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon. Noble gases reactivity is very low because
they have no valence electron to give or share with other elements. Noble gases can be described as
odorless, colorless gases. Noble gases are stable because they have eight electrons and fill up their
outer shell. The intricate chemical details behind the reaction would take years to clarify and the

Persuasive Essay On Animal Hunting
The fact is that, despite the obvious immoralities of killing to just take a fur or tooth, it is one of the
only things keeping the animals alive in Africa. That statement probably doesn t make much sense on
the surface, but there are many more variables in the whole idea than just the killing of the animals by
trophy hunters like poachers, the countries individual wealth, and the ability for the countries to
protect the animals in their territories.
It is common knowledge that many animals in Africa are going extinct and it is most definitely
because of the involvement of people. For example, 10,000 15,000 free roaming African lions remain,
down from 50,000 a decade ago and In 1900 there were about 100,000 cheetah worldwide, present
estimates place their number at 10,000 15,000 with about one tenth of those living in captivity.
Because of this many people feel that it is our responsibility to make sure that they survive, or at least
continue as nature would intend. Well that is simply an unrealistic expectation, but we should try to
make sure we don t completely ruin the ecosystems, and trophy hunting is the last in a long line of
problems to be resolved, and as for now it is actually one of the only things helping certain regions
who impose it properly.
The money from this allows countries like Tanzania to pay to protect the animals from to more serious
threat, poaching. Poachers are mainly interested in bush meat, the meat from wildebeests, they then

Selma is a movie that depicts the Civil Rights movement of 1964, and how Martin Luther King
attempted to make the segregation of black s obsolete as well as allow blacks to vote. Many powerful
scenes were shown in this film to truly give the sense of discrimination and segregation that black
people had been undergoing in those times. This movie is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery

movie goes into great detail about the segregation of the blacks and whites during that time period.

Drinking Water Quality in Mexico City Essay
Mexico City is among the largest, busiest, and most populated places on the planet. Being one of the
largest cities has benefits as well as problems. Among all the problems that Mexico City faces
pollution is one of the worst especially in regards to the quality of its potable water because it is vital
for life. The reliability of drinking water depends on its quality and Mexico City is confronted with
many problems relating to water because the population continues to grow. Thus, the groundwater
supply of the city, as well as river basins around the area, are suffering a large deficit. Even so, there
are many solutions that can be implemented to alleviate Mexico City s water problems, but most
importantly if the price of water in Mexico ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two previously mentioned basins connect to other rivers and basins in such a complicated network
that the water levels of the most significant freshwater lake in the entirety is Mexico Chapala Lake
which lies in Jalisco are negatively affected. Over the past two decades, the transfer of water from
external sources to Mexico City has resulted in the historic decrease of water levels of freshwater
bodies, including Chapala Lake. In the last years of the twentieth century it was estimated that
Chapala Lake s water levels dropped about five meters (Ezcurra and Mazari Hiriart, 1996).
Water has become such a scarce necessity that the city is now taking larger amounts of water from the
Cutzamala and Lerma River Basins. Mexico City does provide for itself a decent amount of water
approximately seventy percent (Tortajada and Castelan, 2003). Even though Mexico City supports
itself with water from the basin it lies in Basin of Mexico it does so with repercussions. The most
difficult problems the city is facing occur because the groundwater is being mined: they are removing
more than naturally flows in. Mexico City is situated on a dry lake bed, and it is suffering from soil
subsidence. They are overdrafting groundwater so much that the city sinks at an average rate of thirty
centimeters each year (Alcocer and Williams, 1996).

song that he wrote. He also made quotes that are still famous today. This song and these quotes are
similar to each other, but they also are different from each other. In these ways, This Land is Your
Land is similar to Woody s quotes. First of all, they are similar because they both say Woody will
never give up singing until his very last second on Earth. He states it in the quotes, where he says I
will fight those songs to my very last breath of air and my last drop of blood. In the song, he says
nobody living can ever stop me. Another similarity is they are saying that everyone is worth it,
everyone has a place. That is what Woody believed in. Finally, they are similar because they both

The Negative Aspects Of School Integration
Throughout history school integration has been somewhat of a war, but why? Although school
integration should be something that is praised because of what it has done for children in the past,
many people and administrators do all in their power to prevent school integration. We claim as a
society that all children should have the same opportunities, but in many cases that is not an option
without school integration. In order to grow as a rising society, it is important for people to set aside
what their negative beliefs about school integration are if it means a better future for children who
otherwise would not have the chance to thrive as they should. B. The Problem We All Live With Part
One: A Sociological Analysis:
In part one of The Problem We All Live With, we are introduced to many incredible, unforgettable
facts about the American school district, facts that are very often overlooked in today s society. Nikole
Hannah Jones speaks out about her years reporting on the american education system and the different
problems she encountered while doing so. Nikole states that administrators have tried to close the
enormous achievement gap between 1971 and 1988 between primarily black and white students that
was about forty points. Because most underachieving school districts were mostly black and latino,
these problems were often dismissed. School districts were not doing much to help the fact that
children in segregated schools, more often than not, had the least experienced teachers, which was a
large part of the problem(Cole, 1978: 183). The Normandy school district in Missouri became
unaccredited because of how poor the quality of the education was. Because Normandy became an
unaccredited school, the transfer law came into effect. The transfer law is a law that gave students in
unaccredited school districts the right to transfer to a nearby accredited schools for free
(Stephanopoulos, 2016: 403). The transfer law gave students of Normandy the right to transfer to
Francis Howell, an accredited school on the other other side of town. Parents of Francis Howell were
not happy with the Normandy students transferring because they were convinced that this would lower
the quality of the Francis Howell

Seamus Heaney was born on April 13, 1939, on a farm in Castledawson,
County Derry, Northern Ireland, the eldest of eight children. In 1963, he began teaching at St. Joseph s

The first poem I ll be looking at is digging it was written in
1966.
The poem consists of 9 stanzas that vary between two lines and five lines in length. There is no pattern
to the stanzas, perhaps to reflect the idea that there is no pattern or predictability to our memories. In
the poem there is quite a variation in the language e.g. the title is blunt. It is only when we have read

He was also proud of his grandfather, who was so keen to work that he hardly stopped when Heaney
brought him some milk. To drink it, and then fell to right away this show how hard he worked. His
work was precise nicking and slicing neatly and he was strong heaving sods over his shoulder.
Heaney does not explain exactly why he has no spade to follow men like them . Does he think he is
not physically strong enough for the work? Or does he think his father and grandfather may not
approve of him cultivating the land.
There is quite a lot of alliteration in digging e.g. curd cuts digging down and down and the squelch
and slap of soggy peat this gives the poem life it makes it more interesting to read. The opening simile
is striking Heaney s pen is snug as a gun . It shows how perfectly the pen fits his hand, this shows how
well suited Heaney is to write. (In the fourth stanza, Heaney describes how perfectly his father s body
is in tune with the spade, showing how well suited he is to dig.) The gun image also suggests the
strength of the pen, it is a weapon for writing.
There is a writing technique called enjambment which means lines in a poem that run on from on to
another without a punctuation or pause.
There is an example of this between the second and third stanza. My father, digging.
I look down Till his straining rump among the flowerbeds Bends low, comes up twenty years away,

The Suv Automobile Market From 2000-2016
This coursework is going to focus on Chinese SUV automobile market from 2000 2016 as the SUV
segment has been one of the most active consumer markets. In fact, passenger vehicle sales rose by
19% to 1.7 million units in China in 2016 and sport utility vehicles and multipurpose vehicles climbed
9.5 percent to 10.8 million units in the January June period, according to the China Passenger Car
Association (Bloomberg News, 2016). More recently, the abolition of one child policy has brought
about increasing demand for more spacious vehicles, which provided a tailwind for sales of mid sized
SUVs (ibid). As Leggett (2016) reports, SUV sales in China surged by 40% as the segment gained a
tremendous share of the overall passenger vehicle market 38.8%. Its popularity can be attributed to
SUV s unique features and characteristics which include: high ground clearance, high centre of
gravity, high H point, and boxy body design (marketsandmarkets.com, 2015); also, SUVs provide a
safer environment for occupants and drivers due to the higher vehicle mass, less absorbed energy and
resulting instructions in a crash, as officially tested (Margaritis et al, 2015). This coursework is
divided into three main parts including demand and supply sides of the Chinese SUV market
respectively and Chinese central government s role in it. Demand Side of Chinese SUV Market Four

external environment while the strengths and weakness may be associated with internal environment
of the business (Audu, 2010a).In this paper, we will compare the business environment of two

My dad also told me how my parents nearly settled on the names Maya and Sara. Hearing this makes

Injustice League In King Lear
Injustice League Many people believe in a balance between good and evil, the good being rewarded
and the horrible getting punished. But this is sadly not always the case. In the play King Lear, by
William Shakespeare, the titular character King Lear is betrayed by his daughters and begins to
embark on somewhat of a mental reform. He begins to see things and people for who they really are.
Not only that, but he also takes on the philosophical view that the more powerful you are, the less
consequences you will face for your actions. Even during the late 1500s, Shakespeare was able to see
and write about a social injustice system that is still very real today. In the modern day, many
celebrities and people in power, whether it be socially or economically, are not held to the same
accountability as regular people. Their wealth and famousness act as a kind of shield that protects
them from the consequences that their actions would normally entail. One man who has escaped any
conviction for numerous accusations and proven crimes is the musician R. Kelly. He has been tried
with an abundance of pedophilia, rape, sexual misconduct, and abuse charges. His most recognized
trial being about an alleged sex tape with a 14 year old girl. According to an article by Variety, Over

Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, is India s largest city and one of the largest cosmopolitan
metropolises in the world. Mumbai is India s melting pot with people from all over the country and the
world converging together to live harmoniously. The city is the perfect representation of the country s
dichotomy: symbolised by the presence of Bollywood in the city, Mumbai is also host to India s
largest slum population. The city itself is huge, sprawling in every direction, and this makes sight
seeing in Mumbai much more exciting. From the rock cut caves of Elephanta to Dobi Ghats to Marine
Drive to Gateway to India, Mumbai has it all and more.

Plan a trip, if you can, to Film City located in Goregaon and enjoy the first hand experience of
Bollywood shooting. Make sure you book this in advance as there s a high possibility that you may
not be allowed in if you just show up on the day. Having entered the lavish lifestyle of the Bollywood
elite, you might get a little jealous but don t fret as Mumbai is a shopper s paradise. Mumbai is worth
visiting just for the hustle of the shopkeepers, the madness of the markets and the rich aroma of fruit
vendors. Kemp s corner, located, again, in South Mumbai is where you could buy antiques at rock
bottom prices, second hand books for dirt cheap and hand made jewellery, clothes and furniture for
prices that are almost always too

Lindsay Case
Lindsay is asking to inspect financial documents for two separate legal entities, and she has differing
roles in both of the companies. Lindsay s role in the LLC is a co partner role. Thus, she could inspect
the financial documents of LLC; however, she has dissociated. Dissociation occurs when a partner
ceases to be associated with the carrying on of the partnership business and terminates his or her
actual authority to act for the partnership and to participate in running the business (259). In 2007,
Lindsay leaves the company, which means she has voluntarily withdrawn and completely abandoned
her duties. If Lindsay had returned a month or several months later, than she could argue that she
never really disassociated; however, she chose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Medical Director For Snohomish County Emergency Medical...
Dr. Eric Cooper is the medical director for Snohomish County Emergency Medical Services
(SCEMS). SCEMS is made up of numerous Fire Departments and Private Ambulance providers to
serve the citizens of the county (E. Cooper, personal communication, May 23, 2016). All of the Fire
Department services are on the same instance of Electronic Health Record (EHR). Implementation of
the EHR began in 2010, with Advanced Life Support entities. In 2013 the EHR vendor added a feature
called Health Data Exchange (HDE) as an option. This feature allows bi directional flow of
information from the pre hospital EHR to the hospital EHR. For the first time, pre hospital providers

One reason that Providence won this award is the fact that they have a single instance of Epic installed
system wide. It should be noted that Providence and Swedish, although merged, do operate on two
different instances of Epic EHR. In order to transition to a single instance of Epic the cost would be
$30 million, compared to a $500,000 interface that connects the two systems (E. Cooper, personal
communication, May 23, 2016).
Proposal
McDonald (1997) points out that health care data is siloed in multiple areas that are inaccessible to
others. This kind of management of patient data does not serve the patient well. It is for this reason
that SCEMS approached Providence and Swedish hospitals to propose implementation of HDE.
Moreover, as stated in the McDonald article a feasible way to integrate data from disparate sources is
through the use of interfaces such as the HDE. In addition, a problem that exists in the integration of
these two data sources is the fact that the hospital system communicates via the standard HL7
language, while the pre hospital system communicates via XML. Fortunately, the HDE structure
accounts for this difference by translating back and forth between the two different languages. With
this in mind, SCEMS requested a meeting with members of the Providence and Swedish teams in
order to propose implementation of HDE (E. Cooper, personal communication, May 23,

The Grand Regency Hotel Management Essay
The Grand Regency Hotel
Introduction
The Grand Regency Hotel is found in Bangkok Thailand and has been in operation for the last fifteen
years. For the entire period it has been under the management of the Thai general manager and was
started by locally based consortium of investors. It is a prestigious hotel in Bangkok and has a total of
700 employees who were being treated in a prestigious way by the management. The management
gave the employees the following benefits: provision of very good welfare; the salary rate was above
that of the market; high job security and also end of the year bonus which was comparable to salary
earned in a four week period (Manson 2009, p. 28).
Upon the hotel being sold to the American Hotel Chain, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

With such kind of operation the employees will go an extra mile and serve customers to their best
since their motivation will be increased. This will then translate to better performance at the work
place since they will be more satisfied with their job. With this in mind upon being appointed as the
manager he quickly adapted the aspect of empowerment into his operations.
This marked a change in the operations of the hotel since the employees who had been retained were
used to a system where they worked under the instructions of the management. Previously they had a
duty of ensuring that the manager s instructions are adequately adhered to hence they took it as a
responsibility.
By implementing the empowerment strategy, most of the decisions were made by the employees
without consulting their superiors. Any decision making organ must have the necessary skills and
knowledge pertaining the section they are dealing with (Barker 2008, p. 34). Having been given the
right of making some decisions regarding the running of the hotel and because most of them are
lacking the skills and knowledge that are key issues many employees made the wrong decisions.
The employees were used to a situation whereby they were being guided by the management in all
their activities hence being allowed to make decisions was a new role. Due to this they require training
on matters

Why Women Should Fight The Front Line
Why I Believe Women Should Be On The Front Line I believe women should fight side by side with
men. I believe women are equal to men, there s only a physical difference but we are all the same.
Women can do everything a man can. If women fight in the front line i think there would be less
casualties than there right now.
Although women should be fighting in front line in the military many believe they should not. More
than 200,000 position will still be remain exclusive to men. women won t be able to qualify for jobs.

Emperor Hirohito
HiroHito was the Emperor of Japan from 1926 to 1989. Also the longest reigning Emperor in Japanese
history. He was a controversial figure that surrendered Japan to the Allied Forces in 1945. HiroHito
was born on April 29, 1901 in Tokyo, Japan as the Eldest son of Crown Prince Yoshihito. Yet, he was
not raised by his parents. Rather, he spent his early years raised by a retired vice admiral and then an
imperial attendant. Between ages 7 and 19, HiroHito attended schools designed for nobility. He
attended Gakushuin School (also known as Peers School). He was instructed in military and religious

However, the economy failing, militarism rising and many political assassinations caused a crisis for
the pro democracy movement.
HiroHito, who was the highest spiritual authority and commander in chief of the armed forces, fired
the prime minister in 1929. The two prime ministers to follow were both assassinated. One was shot
and mortally wounded, and the one to follow was murdered by naval officers who had quarrels with a
treaty limiting the number of Japanese warships. After that, all prime ministers were pulled from the
military rather than form political parties, which disbanded altogether in 1940. Around the same time,
Japan and China s conflict were growing. In 1931, a railway explosion caused by Japaneses army
officers was blamed on Chinese bandits. They then used the event to take over Manchuria in
northeastern China. And set up a puppet state there. Following this incident were numerous
Excursions and by 1937, war had broken out. During that winter, the Japanese army murdered about
200,000 civilians and Prisoners of War in the area surrounding and within Nanking. HiroHito did not
condone the more unpleasant parts of this invasion, but he failed to punish those responsible. HiroHito

Essay Weber s Approach to Religion and Sociology Weber s Approach to Religion and Sociology Weber s general approach to sociology is known as verstehen sociology; that human action is directed by meaning and that action can only be understood by appreciating the world view of the social actor concerned. Since religion is an important component of the social actors world view, religious beliefs can direct social action, and hence bring about social change. These characteristics were also important factors in the development of business. The Protestant Ethic matched the Spirit of Capitalism. Thus, the religious beliefs of Protestantism coupled with the presence of the necessary economic conditions resulted in the development of the capitalist system. The importance of Weber s work is its recognition of the importance of ideas and beliefs in the process of social change. He is not saying that religion always causes change, simply that it can be an important factor. This is a position that will be developed further, and in terms of a rounded position of the role of religion, is the most tenable the answer about the role is most likely to always be; it depends! Weber s theory has been subject to considerable criticism, indeed it is a classic dispute in sociology. The main criticisms are that Weber mislocated capitalism (historically); misinterpreted protestantism; misunderstood catholicism and misplaced causality. What it is important to remember however is that the criticisms apply to the example that Weber uses protestant belief/capitalism. There are numerous other examples that can demonstrate the usefulness of his idea. The It depends approach It would seem clear that there can be no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people don t know how or why the Japanese did what they did to Pearl Harbor. Some people believe they did it out of hatred for the United States, others believe that it was for a step up in the war. This paper focuses mainly on the events leading to the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the chaos it created, and the aftermath of this devastating tragedy. However, three aircraft carriers that were attached to the Pacific Fleet escaped, because they were not at Pearl Harbor at the time. The Arizona and the Oklahoma were the only two of the eight battleships that were able to be repaired and return to service. Probably the only good outcome of this attack was that they failed to destroy the only oil storage facilities on the Island. December 8, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt gave his most famous speech A date which will live in infamy , and finally declared war on Japan. After the dust cleared a few days later, people started pointing fingers. Admiral Husband Kimmel and General Walter short were the Army and Navy Commanders at the time of the attack, so people started blaming them. Shortly after they were relieved to duty later investigations showed that there was know knowledge of the attack on anyone. When people saw those Japanese fighter planes appear over the Pearl Harbor sky, not one of them thought that it was going change the course of American history forever. The Japanese didn t just attack out of hatred; it was out of their eagerness for power and supplies. This lead to the start of one of the most tragic World War the United States has seen. Their bleeding feet told without words. One even started begging the soldiers. The soldier didn t give her anything, but he did give meat for the wolves. This kingdom is ruled by fear, I thought to myself. More days have passed and more bodies have fallen, seven in total. All were just peasants trying to make a living. The village let out a heavy sigh when we finally reach the castle. It was sturdy castle, but definitely outdated. Any nation in the world can destroy it in a few days. All around the castle were slaves picking apples in cruel conditions. It was actually better than some jobs like farmer. They had enough food and could always rely on shelter. From there, a screening must take place. The screening can consist of hearing, vision, communication, and any other type that may be needed. Permission is not needed in order to do a screening. Next, Response to Intervention begins, also known as RTI. This provides levels or tiers of increasingly intensive instruction to help students master academic content. Tier 1 takes place in a regular classroom setting. Tier 2 involves and allows the student to go out to a specialty teacher. Tier 3 mainly takes place in a special education classroom. Tier 3 requires more one on one instruction for the student from the teacher. RTI serves two purposes support struggling learners and identify students with learning disabilities. Parents are invited to take part in their child s RTI process. Other school professionals also take part during the RTI process to meet the child needs. Research Based Interventions are used during the RTI process. Data is gathered during the RTI process on a regular basis. After a few weeks, the team meets again to determine how beneficial the interventions are for the child. If RTI is working, it is continued, if RTI is not working, a meeting takes place where the RTI data is presented. Then the referral process initiates. The referral process commences with an Admissions and Release Committee known as ARC. Here, the student ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Problem Of Human Development Experts have spent centuries attempting to obtain the secrets of human development and identify the exact science behind it. Experts have not been able to discover any exact influences of normal human development, nor have they been able to uncover the exact causes of developmental abnormalities (Disabilities). What they have found can seem quite confusing and has caused much debate among those trying to tackle the answer to the question. Is ones developmental trajectory determined by the highness of their genetics or what they experience from the environment to which they are raised? Because of the spectrum of disciplines that this subject crosses the weight of unanswered questions far exceeds the amount of answers questions and most of those answers lead to more questions. The Princess Ideal Beauty And The Beast As I walk down Main Street USA at Disneyworld in Florida, with the smell of fresh baked candy sitting in the air, and seeing the dressed up characters walking around, seeing all the little girls dressed up as their favorite princesses, I can t help but wonder how Walt Disney took something from his imagination and made it into what it is today. Growing up, every little girl dreams of being just like the princesses that they see in their favorite Disney films. Whether that be Jasmine from Aladdin, or Belle from Beauty and the Beast, every little girl dreams of finding their own prince charming, getting married, and living in a castle far far away. Even when we look around in our society, we see the princess ideal that is shown to young girls, where ever we look we are shown this. When little girls first see a Disney Princess, they are presented with the ideal women, long perfect hair, flawless skin, small waist, and long legs. Also, most of the time (minus Cinderella) always have flawless clothing that they wear. At once an impetus for action and an existential fear, the complex role of death is especially evident in the aftermath of Enkidu s demise, which forces Gilgamesh to confront his own relationship to mortality. This confrontation ultimately reveals a central dissonance within Gilgamesh, as a king and warrior, he wields near absolute power over his enemies and subjects, yet he is impotent to prevent the death of Enkidu. The man who shot Lennon, Mark David Chapman, was found just a few feet away from Lennon s body, reading The Catcher in the Rye. Unbecomingly, Chapman used the book as his excuse for murdering Lennon. In court, Chapman used the novel as his statement and even signed his copy of the novel as Holden Caulfield, the novel s protagonist, believing himself to actually be Caulfield. Because of this, John Lennon and the book will be eternally connected. However, Lennon s death is not the only parallel to be drawn between Holden Caulfield and Lennon; the similarities between Holden and Lennon are almost uncanny. Their views on religion are virtually identical; and if they were to be switched, one would be unable to distinguish one from the other. Among other things, the two both suffered from very significant losses in their families, Lennon having his mother die and Caulfield, his younger brother. Both of these events seriously shaped their views on life and their behaviors. Lastly, they both dealt with rejection throughout their lives; Holden feels rejected by just about every person he meets and John Lennon s father left him when he was only five years old, which later proves to be an emotionally crippling event in his life. In all, Holden and Lennon share a mutual fate in their similarities and will be forever connected by the horrendous act against Lennon in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. Loss of Species Due to the Biodiversity Crisis The seriousness of the current biodiversity crisis and the increasingly loss of species diversity have aroused the boldness in conservationists to propose not so conservative solutions. Such as an attempt to restore in our present environment the wildlife diversity lost in the Pleistocene period. This proposal is incited by Donlan et al. (2006) that call for restoration of missing ecological functions and evolutionary potential of lost North American megafauna using extant conspecifics and related taxa . This essay will discuss the possible positive effects brought by the Pleistocene rewilding and its major impediments. And it is perceptible that the obstacles in translocating species similar to those that have been extinct for millennia in North America are so many, and its plausibility so controversial, that this adventurous proposal requires a lot of reflection and scientific labor before being considered a reasonable solution. In the Americas, many mammals and their commensals were lost in the end of the Pleistocene epoch, about 13,000 years ago (Martin 2005) and with them, many ecosystem processes and services were lost. The Pleistocene rewilding intends to bring back the biodiversity that vanished 13,000 years ago, reinstituting ecological and evolutionary processes that were transformed or eliminated by megafaunal extinctions (Donlan et al. 2006). Pleistocene rewilders also advocate this conservation strategy based on aesthetic and ethical grounds; they argue that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

But the question still remains, how has ethics become involved in the pharmaceutical Industry? To understand this better, I will briefly talk about the history of the industry. In the late 19th and early 20th century key discoveries, such as insulin and penicillin, were made. These medicines were needed in large quantities, and thus allowed major companies that we know today to begin the mass manufacture and distribution of these. In order to test and approve drugs and to require appropriate labeling legislation was enacted. Dostoevsky suggests that while it is impossible to escape the pain of isolation, he affirms it is necessary to save oneself from the modern society and the romantic self. The inevitably of suffering and the absence of consciousness is Dostoevsky s example of the human condition of the Enlightenment era that is tragic but rather truthful. He presents The Underground Man as a nihilist who is dissatisfied with his 19th century Russian context. The protagonist thus represents Dostoevsky s worldview in his critique of the Enlightenment project including its romantic alternative and so of the west as a whole. The notion of consciousness and mental suffering become apparent as the reason of The Undergrounds Mans desire to alienate himself from society who can never accept him. He is entrenched by his excessive conscious inertia that inhibits his action. This renders the fragmented protagonist to experience life in a vicarious manner with shame and depravity. Noble gases make up group 18 in the periodic table. These are the elements that make up the noble gases: Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon. Noble gases reactivity is very low because they have no valence electron to give or share with other elements. Noble gases can be described as odorless, colorless gases. Noble gases are stable because they have eight electrons and fill up their outer shell. The intricate chemical details behind the reaction would take years to clarify and the formula of the colorful solid was later modified as [XeF]+[PtF5] (www.acs.org). This compound was the very first compound form by using a noble gas. It was said before this discovery that the noble gases could and would never form a chemical compound. • 30. Persuasive Essay On Animal Hunting The fact is that, despite the obvious immoralities of killing to just take a fur or tooth, it is one of the only things keeping the animals alive in Africa. That statement probably doesn t make much sense on the surface, but there are many more variables in the whole idea than just the killing of the animals by trophy hunters like poachers, the countries individual wealth, and the ability for the countries to protect the animals in their territories. It is common knowledge that many animals in Africa are going extinct and it is most definitely because of the involvement of people. For example, 10,000 15,000 free roaming African lions remain, down from 50,000 a decade ago and In 1900 there were about 100,000 cheetah worldwide, present estimates place their number at 10,000 15,000 with about one tenth of those living in captivity. Because of this many people feel that it is our responsibility to make sure that they survive, or at least continue as nature would intend. Well that is simply an unrealistic expectation, but we should try to make sure we don t completely ruin the ecosystems, and trophy hunting is the last in a long line of problems to be resolved, and as for now it is actually one of the only things helping certain regions who impose it properly. The money from this allows countries like Tanzania to pay to protect the animals from to more serious threat, poaching. This movie is based on the 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches that were led by Martin Luther King Jr., James Bevel, and Hosea Williams. The movie goes into great detail about the segregation of the blacks and whites during that time period. Being one of the largest cities has benefits as well as problems. Among all the problems that Mexico City faces pollution is one of the worst especially in regards to the quality of its potable water because it is vital for life. The reliability of drinking water depends on its quality and Mexico City is confronted with many problems relating to water because the population continues to grow. Thus, the groundwater supply of the city, as well as river basins around the area, are suffering a large deficit. Even so, there are many solutions that can be implemented to alleviate Mexico City s water problems, but most importantly if the price of water in Mexico ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two previously mentioned basins connect to other rivers and basins in such a complicated network that the water levels of the most significant freshwater lake in the entirety is Mexico Chapala Lake which lies in Jalisco are negatively affected. Over the past two decades, the transfer of water from external sources to Mexico City has resulted in the historic decrease of water levels of freshwater bodies, including Chapala Lake. In the last years of the twentieth century it was estimated that Chapala Lake s water levels dropped about five meters (Ezcurra and Mazari Hiriart, 1996). Water has become such a scarce necessity that the city is now taking larger amounts of water from the Cutzamala and Lerma River Basins. Mexico City does provide for itself a decent amount of water approximately seventy percent (Tortajada and Castelan, 2003). Even though Mexico City supports itself with water from the basin it lies in Basin of Mexico it does so with repercussions. The most difficult problems the city is facing occur because the groundwater is being mined: they are removing more than naturally flows in. Mexico City is situated on a dry lake bed, and it is suffering from soil subsidence. They are overdrafting groundwater so much that the city sinks at an average rate of thirty centimeters each year (Alcocer and Williams, 1996). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

He states it in the quotes, where he says I will fight those songs to my very last breath of air and my last drop of blood. In the song, he says nobody living can ever stop me. Another similarity is they are saying that everyone is worth it, everyone has a place. That is what Woody believed in. • 36. The Negative Aspects Of School Integration Throughout history school integration has been somewhat of a war, but why? Although school integration should be something that is praised because of what it has done for children in the past, many people and administrators do all in their power to prevent school integration. We claim as a society that all children should have the same opportunities, but in many cases that is not an option without school integration. In order to grow as a rising society, it is important for people to set aside what their negative beliefs about school integration are if it means a better future for children who otherwise would not have the chance to thrive as they should. B. The Problem We All Live With Part One: A Sociological Analysis: In part one of The Problem We All Live With, we are introduced to many incredible, unforgettable facts about the American school district, facts that are very often overlooked in today s society. Nikole Hannah Jones speaks out about her years reporting on the american education system and the different problems she encountered while doing so. Nikole states that administrators have tried to close the enormous achievement gap between 1971 and 1988 between primarily black and white students that was about forty points. Because most underachieving school districts were mostly black and latino, these problems were often dismissed. School districts were not doing much to help the fact that children in segregated schools, more often than not, had the least experienced teachers, which was a large part of the problem(Cole, 1978: 183). The Normandy school district in Missouri became unaccredited because of how poor the quality of the education was. Because Normandy became an unaccredited school, the transfer law came into effect. The transfer law is a law that gave students in unaccredited school districts the right to transfer to a nearby accredited schools for free (Stephanopoulos, 2016: 403). But this is sadly not always the case. In the play King Lear, by William Shakespeare, the titular character King Lear is betrayed by his daughters and begins to embark on somewhat of a mental reform. He begins to see things and people for who they really are. Not only that, but he also takes on the philosophical view that the more powerful you are, the less consequences you will face for your actions. Even during the late 1500s, Shakespeare was able to see and write about a social injustice system that is still very real today. Moreover, as stated in the McDonald article a feasible way to integrate data from disparate sources is through the use of interfaces such as the HDE.
