why.
PRE LISTENING
Activity 1
a. Ask students how much they know about the U.S. What words come to their minds
when they think about the U.S.
b. Pairwork: Have them do the U.S. quiz.
c. Check the answers
DURING LISTENING
Activity 2
a. Pairwork: Have students look at the words of the song and replace the pictures with
words.
b. Play the song and have the students check the answers.

Play the song again
Students listen to the song and answer the questions

a. Rewrite the song and make it positive by replacing new words
b. In groups, read your songs to each other. Which song seems the most positive?
