Differences between Utopias and Dystopias There are many differences and similarities between
utopias and dystopias. some are evident and some are not. But some people argue that a utopia for one
is a dystopia for others. Utopias are an ideal world and dystopias are a nightmare world. Dystopias and
utopias are different. There are many differences between utopias and dystopias. For one, a peaceful
government in the other the government is controlling the people. In utopias you get to choose what
you learn, as for the other, the government chooses what you learn. Many peoples thought of a utopia
is no fighting. In a dystopia the could be lots of fighting. Many peoples utopias make everyone equal

Essay on HRIS Requirements For Riordan Manufacturing
System Overview Several processes within Riordan s Human Resource Information System (HRIS)
have been identified as disjointed and Riordan wants to integrate those processes into the HRIS to
create a more seamless, secure and efficient system. Manual processes as well as partially automated
processes, both internal and external third party, will need to be integrated into the HRIS system to
accomplish this integration goal.
HRIS Updates Changes to information in the HRIS database are currently submitted in writing by a
Manager manually filling out special forms and sending them to headquarters where a payroll clerk
enters the data into the system. This process can be error prone as well as slow and needs to be
automated. Creating a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Requirements:

Wild Swans Analysis
Year 11 Short Story Unit Writing Task
How does Wild Swans explore the central character s experience of adolescence?
In Alice Munro s short narrative Wild Swans, the female adolescent narrator, Rose, travels alone on a
train ride to Toronto. On the train she is sexually harassed by a minister and through Rose s reactions
to the harassment, readers are given a vivid image of how Rose experiences adolescence. Throughout
the story, Rose experiences fear and confusion about growing up, prompting herx to attempt to
evaluate the world through the perspectives of others, and eventually mature into a woman with the
courage to display her long suppressed concupiscence, showing evidence of a complete transition
from a cygnet (baby swan) to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rose is glad that the minister [is] not going to mention God (14), but instead the man starts to harass
her, a far more grotesque action, bringing a sense of irony to the story. At this point, Rose starts to
question the ethics of society, and this can be seen not just as confusion, in the context of the story, but
also as a further exploration of youthful bewilderment about established values from a young age such
as mutual respect and the integrity which adults are expected to uphold. Even towards the end of the
story, Rose could never understand what recommended [the minister] when she decided to self pollute
at a later stage of her life. The lack of answers is the very reason why Rose attempts to consider
multiple perspectives at once in hope for more answers, motivating her development through
adolescence.
Finally, Rose develops greater self awareness, a greater awareness of others and the ability to consider
multiple perspectives, as shown by her mental consideration of the possible repercussions for accusing
the minister of harassment or asking him to take his hand away. Her evidence of awareness for herself
and others is demonstrated through her inability to ask the minister to take his hands away. Due to an
increased awareness of others, Rose feared the other passengers would fixate their attention on her,
showing her shyness in through her mental thoughts. She shaped the words [please don t] in her mind,

Allegory In Starship Troopers
The alien in Starship Troopers is satirically literal, and the uniformity Oates noted emphasised by a
FedNet clip showing gleeful children stomping on common cockroaches. These bugs bear no
resemblance or connection to the Arachnids, other than they are both insect species, yet are equally
demonised as part of the war effort. This can be read as an allegory, as Frank has observed, for the
tendency in official, news and fictional discourses to represent terrorists and the terror threat, as alien
and radically other. (Frank, 2011, p. 154 158) Both Jackson and Ott have connected such definitional
issues to violence and power, as Ott states, Language homogenizes them, reinforcing the prevailing
perception that they are all the same and can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Oates, 20 p. 135) Likewise, Nacos criticised the media for failing to scrutinise governments or
present non violent options for public debate instead favouring official discourse by focusing on
counterterrorism and military action. She notes, All Americans would have benefited from
comprehensive, balanced, probing reporting and editorializing allowing them to make well informed
decisions.... such as the question of whether to torture known and suspected terrorists (Nacos, 2007,
p172) In a subsequent study, Nacos also observed the mass media were reluctant to label the abuse
and degradation at Abu Ghraib as torture, once there was evidence of such, instead choosing other
terms such as alleged abuse and mistreatment. (Nacos, 2011, pp. 289 290) Jamail furthered this
observation, stating, The media try hard to place the spotlight on a minor issue thereby attempting to
obfuscate the larger violation. This was clearly visible in the case of the Abu Ghraib reports. (Jamail,
2012, p. 301) Oates attributes this failure to the patriotic constraint experienced by the media post 9/11
which limited acceptable debate and challenge . (Oates, 2008, p.40) However, in the aftermath of Abu
Ghraib, Nacos subsequently found that media practices had altered, exemplified by ample coverage
and scrutiny being provided when the Patriot Act was due to be

rights as a citizen of the United States. More accurately, citizens of the United States are fighting for
their rights as people. Welcome to Nineteenth and Twentieth Century America. The suffragettes are

The Purpose Of This Research Is To Prove The Usefulness
The purpose of this research is to prove the usefulness of the Myers Briggs personality test, and the
Maslow s hierarchy of needs theories working in Music management. The music industry is tough,
and finding an exceptional Artist Manager, is one of the major keys to any artist success. A Mangers
role is to provide a stress free environment that allows an Artist to flourish and focus creatively, while
primarily the Artist s Manager focuses on the more tactical deeds. For every individual, there are
factors that affect that specific individual s mood, focus, and work ethic. By understanding artists
required needs, and personality, Managers can better prevent many common disputes, hiccups, or
misunderstandings, within the Artist Manager ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important for every manager to know which lower level needs are essential in fueling and
supporting his/her Artists function and performance on a day to day basis. Skipping a meal might not
seem like a big deal to some, but eating is an extremely important part of every person s basic needs to
survive and function effectively. Food fuels the body and without fuel, it is more difficult for many
individuals to carry out tasks and focus. Between 6 72 hours without eating, the human body enters a
state called ketosis as it begins to fast or starve. Because there is now very little glucose in the blood
stream, one s body must then begin to break down fat for energy which is broken down into fatty
acids. The brain can t function off this and it impairs normal brain function. (B.T. and Challis, 2016) If
not eating impairs brain functionality, then it would easily affect an artist work ethic in the studio,
singing ability or even writing habits. Knowing how long his/her artist can continue to work
effectively without food, allows the manager to prepare an effective environment ensuring that one of
the artists basic psychological needs are met, and therefore they can motivate themselves to move
towards a higher tier of motivational needs. The stamina of each artist is different, and some artist can
go longer periods of time without eating, and still have the ability to focus, and execute their given
tasks, while others have to eat at specific

Applications Of Low Power Integrated Intelligent Sensors
Applications of low power integrated intelligent sensors [1 5] has been prolific in recent years, for
instance in environmental observation [8 10], security surveillance [11] and infrastructure
communication [12], and biomedical and healthcare monitoring [6, 7]. In particular, as the baby
boomers enter retirement, medical cost becomes significant. For example, in 2014, health care
accounted for 20% of federal spending in the U.S. []. A major problem in current healthcare systems is
that sensing and processing medical data require significant resources. In order to alleviate this
problem, wearable medical devices are expected to provide automatic monitoring and processing of
physiology signals, and more importantly, identifying abnormal signals and contact medical systems
for help if necessary, as shown in Fig. 1. Although such sensors usually have wireless data
communication capability through body area network, due to limited battery power supply, sending
raw sensed data is usually not an option. This is because that in a wireless sensor, usually radio
communication power is much higher than signal processing power []. Thus, it is expected that the
sensors are capable of providing preprocessing of raw data based on DSP algorithms and just sending
the processed results. Such sensors are called intelligent sensors []. Besides the capability of signal
processing and wireless communication, low power, high accuracy, high reliability, and small
footprint are also listed as

Reflection Paper On Sense Perception
Sense Perception Reflection
We see and understand things not as they are but as we are Discuss this claim in relation to perception.
Knowledge Question: To what extent does our sense perception limit the way we perceive reality?
Word Count: 800
Knowledge is an extensive concept which has no precise definition since it has no end or limit. In a
constantly changing world, several individuals have different upbringings, prejudices, viewpoints and
the way we perceive or understand certain things may be different from how they are in reality. Firstly
sense perception, in this case is simply what the eyes see, the nose smells, the ears hear or the body
feels. Secondly, reality is not a subjective knowledge, but rather an objective one. ... Show more

Our senses help us gather and respond to information about our surroundings, which in turn aids our
survival through our reciprocation to most sensory information.Improvements in science have
enhanced the quality of life for many people with sensory disabilities by providing things as
alternative methods of communication, increasing mobility and technology for sensory enhancement.
For example, sound and smell has a strong influence in our daily lives it increases our emotional
quotient thus improving our productivity during work. Therefore, the way we perceive reality can be
tied to our emotions hence, sense perception in some ways can grow our perception of reality.
To conclude, I personally believe that sense perception is dependent on many external factors thus can
limit the way we perceive reality and can sometimes betray us or memory that influences our ways of
knowing. Reality is altered everyday to some extent. However, we have become intelligent enough to
understand this idea over the decades, hence we can not let these things come in the way of truth. That
is why we use reason and logic and put aside our sense perceptions and try to see things not as they
are but as we

The Hateful Eight-Personal Narrative
The Hateful Eight
The splendid and cruel Quentin Tarantino now gives us an immeasurable American epic set for the
most part in only one room. Truth be told, the different areas and corners of that room begin to feel as
far off as urban areas or deserts. At one stage, a character recommends separating this space to speak
to the Unionist North and Confederate South, and it s not all that quite a bit of a stretch to envision, in
spite of the fact that the elusive severe amoralism of every last one is such that tribal unwaveringness
segment was never going to work. Tarantino has made another stunningly snazzy and sharp film, a
Jacobean western, insinuate yet some way or another peculiarly huge, at the end of the day
discharging his own particular sort of unwholesome insane interesting brutal nitrous oxide into the

Negative Effects Of Global Warming
Global warming is the continuous increase in temperature of the earth surface, land, water, and
atmosphere that is a huge natural phenomenon that has a tremendous negative impact all over the
world to animals, people, land, and earth because of human activity being a big factor such as the
excessive burning of fossil fuels, nitrogen based fertilizers, deforestation, and automobiles thus
causing negative effects to earth such as the polar ice melting, the sea level rising, melting glaciers,
agriculture. The negative effects of global warming have caused sea levels to rise. Sea level rise is
caused by thermal expansion of the oceans, melting of glaciers and ice caps, melting of the Greenland
and Antarctic ice sheets, and changes in terrestrial storage( Impacts of Global Warming ). If sea levels
continue to rise it will have a bigger worldwide effect on earth in many ways. For instance, the
changes in sea level can cause the additional increase of hurricanes, floods, the increase of erosion,
and it can affect the marine ecosystem. In addition, people from all over the world can be affected by
the of rising sea levels such as people on vacation because rising sea levels can cause an early or
delayed arrival of seasons and it will also cause a change in the water thus causing the crops to die.

Global Supply Chain Management Simulation Essay
Summary of Global Supply Chain Management Simulation I enjoyed the Global Supply Chain
Management Simulation (GSCM). It was exciting to be a Manager of the supply chain of a mobile
phone manufacturer. I learned very quickly the pressures of running such a large operation. In this
review, I will discuss lessons learned regarding conceptions shown in the simulation. I will explain
how if completing the simulation again, what I would complete differently. In conclusion, I will talk
about my key overall takeaways from this exercise.
Year One
In Year 1 while in the Design room, I chose the Wifi and Stylish options. My intuitive thoughts were
consumer based and not supplier driven. However, these combined options offered an estimated
favorable profit for the company. While forecasting I chose to forecast below average for Model A and
above average for Model B. Again, my decision making was consumer driven and I as a consumer
would prefer a stylish mobile device over a base model, therefore estimated demand at a higher level.
In choosing suppliers in Year 1, key drivers were lead times, setup and unit carrying costs, and
capacity. The decision were also based off of my forecast for each model. I learned quickly as each
month passed, I was out of inventory therefore, making a costly $2.0MM adjustment with one of my
suppliers. In this scenario, if running the simulation again I would better match the supplier with the
forecasted demand.
Year Two In Year 2, I was advised not to

Daubert Standards Case Study
After reading the articles, I believe the Daubert standard is the best standard for Florida to move
forward with. While Frye standard and Rule 702 do have qualifications that need to be met for expert
testimony to be used, Daubert standard has in my opinion the best qualification standards that must be
met for expert testimony to be used.
Based on the articles, for expert testimony to go through in the court all a witness needed using the
Frye standard was have whatever technique, principle, or procedure be generally accepted in the
scientific community. I do not feel like this is enough qualifications in any scientific field especially in
the field of forensic science. The procedure or technique used needs to be proved reliable and can give
consistent results, not just be accepted by the community. Also, with the Frye standard no one is
checking and reviewing the witness procedure or technique to see if it s reliable, accurate, or the error
rate for it. It seems the courts just assumed what is being said or shown is correct and deemed it expert
testimony. The Frye standard was limited in the possibility of new ideas and methods since the make
or break of being accepted as expert testimony was reliant on ... Show more content on

This standard follows similar guidelines to what we follow in the laboratory as far as providing
accurate and reliable results to the analysis we do. In the laboratory, we use techniques, procedures,

accepted in the scientific community. Moreover, with that any facts or data that has been gathered
goes through methods that have proven to be reliable and a peer/tech review to make sure the
information/data is correct. I feel if we use these principles or guidelines in the laboratory then we
should use them when it comes to expert

Feminist Liberation Movement
I wonder why it took such an extended time for women to come up with a feminist spiritual movement
in the Church, since it seems like they have been oppressed for so long? Feminist spirituality is a
relatively new field that has grown out of the struggle of women for equality in both society and
Church (CTM p. 184). Feminist spirituality is an expression of a current theology that has originated
in Latin America that emphasizes the theme of liberation from oppression (CTM p. 255). Additionally,
I wonder if the Second Vatican Council had something to do with the upbringing of this movement? I
also wonder if the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s, provided women with the fearlessness to
march for their rights in society and the Church? Feminist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore, these events had a great influence in shaping the Catholic feminist movement, and
ultimately turning it into a form of spirituality. According to the Mary Joanne Henold, from the
University of North Carolina Press, The Second Vatican Council (1962 65), an inspiring but overtly
sexist event that enraged and exhilarated Catholic women in equal measure, as a catalyst of the
movement within the church. (https://www.uncpress.org/book/9780807873533/catholic and feminist/)
In other words, it is evidently comprehensible that the Second Vatican Council pushed women to the
side, consequently establishing a movement. In addition, I think that women have the right to object
their rights within the Church, with the feminist movement, owing to the fact that they have been
defined in terms of their sexual, reproductive functions, values or personal possibilities which are
determined by biology (CTM p. 185). Ultimately, this makes women feel oppressed and alienated
from themselves, which I believe is

Fairy Tales, Like Any Other Medium, Must Be Updated And
Fairy tales, like any other medium, must be updated and revised in order to remain appealing to its
audience as time goes on. Some fairy tale revisions are heavily criticized for deviating from the
original text so much that they no longer feel the same or offer the same messages. Whether or not a
revision is successful is entirely a matter of personal opinion. In my opinion, a revision does not have
to follow the same plot as the original text as long as it is able to keep the moral intact. For me, a
revision is successful when it modernizes the tale to be more relatable to people in modern day
society, and/or sheds new light back on the original text. It is unsuccessful when the overall message is
changed to something that may be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He does not state whether the step sisters are attractive or ugly, only that Cinderella is prettier than
them. This is important because it offers the message that appearances do not matter, but how
someone treats others does matter. This is a message that parents often try to instill in their children
nowadays, so it is nice to have a story that offers the same message. The second reason why I consider
this version to be successful is because it offers a positive message to the audience. This version of the
tale contains a message of forgiveness. This message is evident in the text at the end of the story
where it says Cinderella raised them up, and kissed them, and forgave them with all her heart, and
asked them to love her always. (Perrault 15) This element is important because it proves that
Cinderella is truly genuine. Cinderella demonstrates her genuine kindness by choosing to forgive her
step sisters even when she comes to be in a position of power where she could get revenge. I find this
to be an important part to the story because there is no better lesson to teach to children and young
adults than the lesson of being genuine and forgiving. Finally, the last reason why I consider this
version to be a phenomenal example of a successful Cinderella story is because the author made sure
to include that Cinderella thanked

Sea World Gold Coast Australia is a marine animal theme park. The park includes rides, shows and
marine attractions. Sea World founded Sea World Research Rescue Foundation Inc. (SWRRFI) which
committed to promote a number of marine research projects and rescue marine organisms activities.
Sea World s goals are to strengthen knowledge for youth about the ocean habitat and ecology of the
marine lives, encourage the public about the marine biodiversity conservation and promote youth
education and public awareness. Positioning Sea World as teach through lively activities is also a
priority.
Past media coverage of Sea World has been largely marine mammal topics based, with little
substantial discussion around animal conservation or Sea World information. Although the media port
of Sea World provides several marine animal contents, it leads to the media relations problem: Sea
World s media releases tend to using marketing strategies that have resulted in an increasing lack of
credibility in marine mammal conservation. This does not align with Sea World goals of youth
education and strengthened public awareness.
An opportunity therefore exists for Sea World to improve awareness of marine conservation,
ecological populations and research to marine animals in the short term via media coverage in
connection with SWRRF in Queensland.

The Dance Of Benevolence
Welcome, welcome to all! As you all already know, it is now the time that we begin with the dance of
benevolence, following with which we will commence with the raising of the cups. But first, let us
give favor with the descendent of the fair maidens. The trumpets began to sound again, and music
accompanied. I watched with uncertainty. Nothing was happening until the crowd gasped and a
beautiful young female in a billowy, bronze colored dress emerged. Nimbly, she glided down the
stairs. The people oohed and awed when just then, another attractive woman in a peach colored dress
arrived and floated after. More and more beautiful women streamed down the stairsteps, flowing out
into the ballroom. The colors of their dress faded lighter ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was no doubt she was beautiful: full red rose lips, slender waist, and smooth dark hair that
cascaded down her bare, white shoulders. But there was something about her demeanor that distracted
from her beauty. I couldn t place it. Everyone remained silent until she made her final step onto the
ballroom floor. She looked around the room, in greetings to her guests and her lips stretched wide,
flashing a white teeth smile. Just then, in a wave like motion, the lights burned brightly again, the
music continued, and chatter and dancing became omnipresent. I returned my gaze to Gemma. Her
eyes darted anxiously about as she stood alongside the other maidens. I had to move quickly. I held up
my hand to capture her attention, but instantly I felt a tingling. My hand was beginning to disappear,
evaporating in a swirling swarm of particles. Before I could start to comprehend what was happening,
my whole body started to whirl around in a rapid spin. In a blink of an eye, I found myself still in the
ballroom, only now, I was near the stairs on the opposite end. Dazed and disoriented, I reached my
hand to my head and was startled to see my arms covered with sleeves. I reached down touching my
torso. My clothes had altered. My T shirt had converted to a blue jacket, and I was wearing a suit
comparable to an admiral s. Why did my clothes always change? At least now I fit in, I thought.
Instinctively I grabbed my shoulders, to my relief, I could still feel my backpack

The Corruption Of Nature Revealed In Shakespeare s Macbeth
People can disrupt nature and nature will get back at you. Macbeth is a story written by Shakespeare
about a young man who has the ambition to become king no matter the cost. Macbeth s first step was
becoming the Thane. Macbeth and his best friend Banquo went to see the three weird sisters, witches,
and they are told their prophecies. Macbeth s was that he would be the Thane and then the king. While
Banquo s was that his lineage would be royalty for generations. Macbeth told his wife who then gets
the idea to go a step further and become the king and queen of the country. They plan to invite the
current king to their home and assassinate him. Once the king came Lady Macbeth poisoned the king
and made his guards drunk enough to pass out on their own. Macbeth then killed the king with a
dagger and was able to put the blame on the deceased king s guards. Macbeth becomes the next king.

Middle of the World, Territory of Complexity Essay
With current advancement involving technological, and biological warfare all over the earth, the world
can seem to resemble a ticking time bomb waiting to be detonated. All it would take is one rogue
nation to oppose a neighboring nation and provoke a terrible conflict, and other nations would have to

apparently cause a world war if it is not solved, The Israeli Palestinian conflict can overflow onto the
rest of the surrounding nations, right into our very backyard, and it already involves U.S. Government.

Israel does certainly have the right to defend itself from the heavy opposition. It is a volatile situation
when any nation can cause violence for having different beliefs. Nonetheless the definition of one s
rights varies from different countries. Israel is outnumbered, yet still manages to survive, although, the
threat is not gone. Many nations surrounding the Jewish State condemn the close relationship between
the United States and Israel because the United States has contributed to the preservation of the Jewish
nation. The Arab resistance yearns to take total dominion over the west bank of Israel. Although Israel
is a small nation by itself, people opposing Israel say that the Israelis are nothing short of military
bullies. Israel is known for their military might and success in preserving there nation. Their defense
program is state of the art and far above other surrounding nations. Yet the potential of rogue nations

exercise without taking diet into consideration. Actually, before 1953, it was common knowledge that
exercise could cause heart attacks and diminish sex drive. That was until a study in 1953 showed that

The Between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With A Screen (...
The art world has been host to a vast menagerie of talent, intellect, and creativity for about as long as
human culture has existed. It has grown, developed, and changed just as humanity has. Naturally, with
such an impressively expansive history, various avenues of art are visited time and time again by new
artists. Artists seek not only to bring their own personal flavor and meaning to timeless concepts, but
to find new ways to approach them. While not every single creator and craftsman can make such a
great impact on art or the world, their efforts have given birth to some truly magnificent and unique
works. In an effort to create a more meaningful understanding, as well a deeper appreciation, of the
nuances, techniques, and design choices employed in these attempts, a comparison will be made
between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With a Screen (1909 1910) and Henri Matisse s Blue Nude
(Souvenir of Biskra) (1907). In this essay, each artist s approach to the subject of the female nude will
be closely analyzed, compared, and contrasted, as will their styles of painting, handling of visual
elements, and their use of the principles of design. An interpretation of each work and what the artist
intended when creating it will also be provided. The analysis of these paintings will begin with
Vuillard s oil painting Interior With a Screen. This piece depicts a female nude placed in the interior a
large and furnished room; the woman appears to be slightly hunched over

When looking into the year 2015 and all of the social norms and political moves, I believe that the
United States has a government that is a federal republic. A federal republic is a state in which the
powers of the central government are restricted and in which the component parts for example the
states, colonies, or provinces retain a degree of self government. Ultimate sovereign s power rests with
the voters who chose their governmental representatives. Looking into why I consider the United
States to be a federal republic in 2015 is because many changes in our nation are not decided by just

Unknown Vs Evil In Frankenstein
One of the many themes in James Whale s 1931 film Frankenstein is that of the known vs the
unknown or good vs evil. Whale uses the motif of fire as a powerful extension of what the good can
do to the darkness. Fire is used as a way to keep the Monster or the evil representation of the film in
isolation and outside of the known world and also as a way to show that the known or good will
always win against the unknown or evil.
Known vs unknown or good vs evil falls into the category of a knowledge narrative according to
Andrew Tudor. Tudor says that the narrative itself functions by proposing the existence of a body of
knowledge capable of mediating between these domains of known and unknown (83). The first
distinct moment where there is realization of the darkness/unknown trying to seep into the world of
the light/known is when Henry Frankenstein says that his monster has only been kept in complete
darkness and to wait until [he] brings him into the light (30:30 30:35). After his speech the Monster
walks into the room and Frankenstein closes the light as if to wait for the right moment to bring him
into light or the world of the known. When the Monster finally sits down on a chair, Frankenstein
opens the window on the roof to reveal the sunlight (32:07). Once the sunlight is revealed to the
Monster, it slowly turns his head upwards and walks very slowly and carefully into the light. The
Monster with its head and arms raised as if it wants to grab the light and become a

The General Behavior Model Is Developed By Ludwig Brenner...
GEBMO or the General Behavior Model was developed by Ludwig Brenner as a way to predict
hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with multiple
factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship. One thing
happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used to develop an
emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station.
The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way
conduct to do that is to conduct a walk through of the facility or area (Haight, 2012). In this scenario,
our facility is a service station with fuel holding tanks and convenience store items which is located in
close proximity to the center of town, a housing development, an elementary school, playground,
baseball field, and wooded area. The nature of the business makes it a hazard, the location of it makes
it a hazard to the community. Using the General Behavior Model, possible hazards and their reactions,
as well as ways to prevent them are discussed.
When working with fuels such as gasoline and diesel, physical hazards to humans are possible.
Gasoline is highly explosive and flammable, while diesel is flammable. The use of GEBMO is to
prevent or reduce the number of fires and explosions. GEBMO is broken down into seven steps. The
first step is to predict a stressing event such as a fire when a tanker is

While the Japanese government justifies these actions by claiming that the research they are

The Faroese only perform the yearly hunt, or grindadrap, if all of their conditions are met. In a
National Geographic article by Jane Lee in 2014, the grind only happens if the animals are close to
shore, and this has to occur on one of their 23 pre approved beaches. The weather and waves have to
be calm enough and there have to be enough participants. None of the species that the Faroese target
are endangered and they try to cut through the neck and break the spinal cord so that death occurs
quickly. While tribes such as the Faroese adhere to these unspoken rules on ethics, there are Japanese
groups that do not adhere to these ethics and want to take advantage of the subsistence whaling plan.
The Japanese largely do not perform the hunts on a small, aboriginal scale anymore, but have
industrialized the whole process and simply wish to be granted higher quotes to hunt more whales.
This brings into focus the ethics of the hunts. In an essay by Paul Watson, cetaceans are extremely
intelligent creatures that share much more similarities with humans than previously thought (2014).
Whales have highly developed brains, are able to show a variety of behaviors that can be associated
with certain emotions, can discriminate humans from prey or other sea creatures, and exist in highly
developed social circles. They share more similarities with humans than previously thought and
deserved to be treated with this regard in mind. While some aboriginal hunters

That is not a good precondition for being a responsible and exemplary top manager. When Mr.
Edmondson became the new CEO of the company, flat sales and lagging stock prices occurred. On top
of that, the RadioShack share prices were falling greatly right after the uncovering of his lies and
underhandednesses. He apologized for making those mistakes and in order to make an improvement,
the CEO s idea was to close a lot of stores. His behaviour violated the company s ethics. The main
value of the company is to be responsible so as to create an environment that encourages employees to
adapt the values of the company. He did not act according to the company s slogan which shows that
the management was not value based. In general, Mr. Edmondson just failed to meet the company s

have to set an example to their employees Although being socially responsible and ethical is a serious
challenge nowadays, the company can not tolerate his performance. Besides that, it is very important
for a company to be successful and Mr. Edmondson was not able to archive the goals. Therefore it was
not such a tough decision as Len Roberts suggested. He probably said that because at first the broad

Should Evolution Be Taught In Schools
Napolean Hill once said, Action is the real measure of intelligence. This quote is relevant to my topic
because in order for something to happen, someone needs to take action. Some people wish for things
to happen and some people make their wishes come true. The people that just sit around hoping for
something to happen, but the people who actually make it happen are the people who go far in this
world. The people who want to learn more about our past life are the ones that are the most intelligent.
Evolution should definitely be taught in schools. If we don t teach evolution now, how will the future
know anything about how we came upon this earth? The reasons I believe that evolution should be
taught in schools is that it goes along with all the rest of the sciences, (Physics, Biology, and
Astronomy) and is backed up by them, schools are meant to teach ... Show more content on

It even attaches to the other sciences like Physics, Biology, and Astronomy. Everything always backs
up evolution. If it wasn t for evolution, scientists honestly don t know if their would be any of those
sciences here to day. Why would schools stop teaching evolution when it s gotten them so far?
Everyone needs to learn evolution first before any of the other sciences. It s just common sense
starting from start to finish. Evolution was first, and we ve taken off from there.
Schools are meant to teach rational and scientific thought, so why on earth would schools stop
teaching evolution? Every school s goal is to make students think differently than they usually do and
teaching evolution is perfect for that. Evolution is a way of thinking how everything started. The
world began with evolution, so no one can change that now. All science classes teach students to use
scientific thought but it s impossible to use scientific thought without evolution. Evolution was the
whole start of science. So, without evolution, there would be no scientific

Chalcopyrite Synthesis Lab Report
The process of extraction of copper varies depending of what ore, copper is being extracted from.
Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) is a sulphide ore and it is one the most common ores of copper. The process of
extracting copper from chalcopyrite is a quite complex procedure in which both physical and chemical
processes are involved.
As chalcopyrite is around 0.5% copper and 99.5% unwanted rocky material , the first step to extract
copper from chalcopyrite is to increase the concentration of copper in the ore to high enough levels by
getting rid of as much of the unwanted rocky material . This can be done by a physical process called
froth flotation .
The process of froth flotation is quite simple and requires little energy. The process is as follows:
1. The ore is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A substance is added to the crushed ore. This substance attaches only to the metal compound particles
and gives them a hydrophobic (water repellent) property. For copper, this substance is often pine oil.
3. The ore is then put into a large bath containing water and a foaming agent. Air is blown inside to
make bubbles.
4. Because the compound s particles are hydrophobic, the bubbles will be able to catch them and bring
them afloat where they can flow out from the bath while the unwanted rocky material stays in the
bath.
5. The ore now contains around 30% copper and it is ready to be smelted. This ore is called
concentrated ore
Once the ore has been concentrated it is put inside a furnace where it is mixed with sand and oxygen.
The temperature inside the furnace is risen up to around 1000oC and oxygen is blown inside. Due to
the intense heat inside the furnace, the following things happen:
 The copper(II) ions in the chalcopyrite are reduced to copper(I) sulphide
 The iron in the chalcopyrite reacts with the sand and it is converted into an iron (II) silicate slag
which floats on the copper (I) sulphide and is discarded.
 Most of the sulphur in the chalcopyrite is converted into sulphur dioxide

In most cases, they are created on location, but the decision is influenced by the size and nature of the
project, taking into account the restrictions of the site.
3.1 Casting Process Prior to the panels being cast to size, a concrete slab is poured to use as a base for
the tilt up panels to be cast onto.
An engineer is then required to set out boundaries and help in the set up of formwork, which is then
erected in the shape of the panels. This includes making space for openings such as doors and
windows within the design. Formwork is positioned for all panels, in a jigsaw like formation on the
slab, as to allow for steady project flow. Formwork is to be created to such a height as to allow for
multiple castings to be made on top of each other.
The slab is then coated within formwork with a bond breaker as to allow for the most comfort when
tilting up the panels.
As in regular concrete construction, reinforcing is positioned where necessary.
Once everything is positioned as required, concrete is then ready to be poured. When the concrete has
been poured, manual labour is required to trowel for a smooth finish, either by hand or machine
trowel. This can leave a smooth finish, or textured, but must be compliant with designs for
consistency.
With the removal of formwork, and last minute detailing to the panels, they are ready to be lifted into
place.

Space and Mars s Habitability
Synopsis: This research involves discovering how Martian astronauts might deal with their supplies
during a long term mission to Mars and on Mars. The goal is to show that people can develop
technologies to help humans survive in space and on Mars in the future, such as producing food,
recycling water and air, and storing energy. The important technology is the Controlled Ecological
Life Support System (CELSS) that can help in dealing with the supply issues as well as some possible
methods to make energy on Mars. The overall approach of this mission is to create background
knowledge about space habitability for humans in the manned mission to Mars. Upon researching this
issue, I have found that with such powers of invention people should ... Show more content on

The weight of those supplies affects the efficiency of a launch. It is too heavy for the spacecraft to take
off and overcome the gravitational pull of the Earth to get into space. We know that astronauts
traveling to Mars would not be able to stay for a couple days or weeks like the Apollo space mission.
Rather, the Martian astronauts will need to remain in space at least one to three years during the
mission (NASA 2012). If we spend more than nine months in space, we have to build a shelter which
can protect the astronauts from being exposure to radiation risk from the Sun (NASA N.d.a).
Therefore, we need to have good shielding, such as water and cement, but they are very heavy.
Additionally, the astronauts have to bring food, drinking water, air, clothes, medical supplies, and
other things that they need for the mission. All of these things added up together will take about three
million pounds. That is infeasible for them to make it all at once because a spacecraft just only lift
fifty thousand pounds against the Earth s gravity into space. So, they have to make sixty launches for
their supplies to be on Mars. It takes a longer time and costs a lot of money (NASA N.d.a).
Therefore, astronauts can just bring with them some canned foods that are dehydrated and preserved
to keep the foods for a long time and to save weight for the spacecraft (NASA 2012). Also, soybeans
and wheat are suitable because they are light weight, very nutritious, and take a small amount of

Factors Affecting The Intake Of Fruits From Trees Essay
Check referencing and put scientific names of table in annex 1 into italics Chapter 5
The availability, accessibility, utilization and stability factors affecting the intake of fruits from trees in
forest areas in Cameroon
Introduction and problem
In sub Saharan Africa, just under one in every four people, or 23.2 percent of the population, is
estimated to be undernourished in 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). This is the highest prevalence of
undernourishment for any region in the World and, with about 220 million hungry people in 2014 16,
the second highest burden in absolute terms. The number of undernourished people increased by 44
million between 1990 to 92 and 2014 to16. In the Central African sub region, the number of
undernourished people more than doubled between 1990 92 and 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). The lack
of progress in the rate of undernourishment in absolute terms reflects prevailing problems in the sub
region, notably poor food consumption patterns caused amongst others by limited understanding on
the dimensions of food security, political instability and forest degradation. It is therefore absolute to
carry out investigations to properly understand the dimensions of food security especially with
changing environmental conditions. Promoting the consumption of fruits in poor communities and
amongst vulnerable groups could help in addressing problems of nutrient deficiency and malnutrition
(Kehlenbeck et al., 2013; Place et al., 2013; Tchoundjeu et al., 2012).

Interdependence Between Manhood And Responsibility
Responsibility and manhood can be considered as two particular notions but they are tackled in The
House on Mango Street and Bloodline by Ernest J Gaines and Sandra Cisneros in such a way they are
sometime interacting in many situations. That is to say, each of them cannot go without the other. The
authors, throughout their books they establish many aspects which support that manhood and
responsibility are linked when they consider sometime that manhood can be reached by assuming
responsibility which is proved thanks to the behaviors of a few characters in both books. Nevertheless
this situation of interdependence between manhood and responsibility does not keep Ernest J Gaines
and Sandra Cisneros to establish limits between these two notions. ... Show more content on

Gaines and Cisneros end up to disassociate the notion of responsibility and manhood throughout some
characters in their books for example Eddie in the story A long Day in November in which one can
notice that Gaines tries to clarify that responsibility does not always go with manhood , that is to say,
sometimes responsibility defines only a personal advantage, that is why the responsibility of Eddie has
nothing to do with the responsibility that leads to manhood because when he decides to burn his car,
he is committed to lose it in order to make his wife to return home in return. Gaines makes the
comparison between assuming responsibility and making a choice as Eddie do. In addition we can
also say that Eddie s responsibility is a little bite complex because though he takes responsibility but
due to his weakness face to his wife and the way he let himself to be manipulated by his mother s wife
remove all his manhood. Therefore the responsibility as presented by Gaines throughout Eddie has no
link and relationship with

People Corrupt Power In George Orwell s Animal Farm And...
William Gaddis once said Power doesn t corrupt people, People corrupt power In Animal Farm and
Mouseland both of the animals who have the power take over and create corrupt and unequal
societies. This causes the societies to fall under the rules of greedy and selfish leaders. The authors of
Animal Farm and Mouseland use the narrative techniques of characterization and conflict to illustrate
messages about how power can destroy societies and take away the equality in the society.
First, in Animal Farm and Mouseland the authors use characterization to show how power can destroy
societies and can take away the equality that is in the society. For example, in Animal Farm, George
Orwell uses the pigs as a way to show the different levels of importance. It shows how the other
animals are always below the pigs. On pages 35 and 36 it states You do not imagine, I hope, that we
pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples.
I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples
(this had been proven by science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well being
of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. Orwell uses the words absolutely necessary to the well being of a
pig making it seem the most important to the pigs and no other animals. This means that the pigs
started to take the things they wanted and decided they were the ones who had all of the power. This
shows that the power they created could give them more equal rights than the others. In a similar ways
Tommy Douglas uses the cats to show how the other animals are below them and the cats are the ones
who have power. In paragraph 3 of Mouseland it states A government made up of big, fat, black cats.
Douglas states fat, black, cats. characterizing the cats are lazy and useless. This means that in
Mouseland there was a society run by animals who didn t do what they needed and they were lazy.
This shows that just because of the way the cats are characterized they aren t good leaders and they
have the power. This shows that in Animal Farm and Mouseland the people in power were
characterized as greedy and selfish, but came off to the

The Importance of Personal Responsibility
The Importance of Personal Responsibility
GEN/200
As an adult you are responsible for every action that you take, but before that action are a series of
thoughts that lead you to taking that action. Your personal responsibility starts at a young age, you are
either taught personal responsibility as you grow into an adult by being held accountable of your own
actions or the responsibility is taken from you. Depending on how you were brought up your transition
into becoming an adult can either be an easy one or a difficult one where everyone is to blame but
yourself. As an adult the one thing that you know is a constant is that you will be held accountable for
your actions whether you like it or not.

Essay on HRIS Requirements For Riordan Manufacturing System Overview Several processes within Riordan s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) have been identified as disjointed and Riordan wants to integrate those processes into the HRIS to create a more seamless, secure and efficient system. Manual processes as well as partially automated processes, both internal and external third party, will need to be integrated into the HRIS system to accomplish this integration goal. • 4. Wild Swans Analysis Year 11 Short Story Unit Writing Task How does Wild Swans explore the central character s experience of adolescence? In Alice Munro s short narrative Wild Swans, the female adolescent narrator, Rose, travels alone on a train ride to Toronto. On the train she is sexually harassed by a minister and through Rose s reactions to the harassment, readers are given a vivid image of how Rose experiences adolescence. Throughout the story, Rose experiences fear and confusion about growing up, prompting herx to attempt to evaluate the world through the perspectives of others, and eventually mature into a woman with the courage to display her long suppressed concupiscence, showing evidence of a complete transition from a cygnet (baby swan) to a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rose is glad that the minister [is] not going to mention God (14), but instead the man starts to harass her, a far more grotesque action, bringing a sense of irony to the story. At this point, Rose starts to question the ethics of society, and this can be seen not just as confusion, in the context of the story, but also as a further exploration of youthful bewilderment about established values from a young age such as mutual respect and the integrity which adults are expected to uphold. Even towards the end of the story, Rose could never understand what recommended [the minister] when she decided to self pollute at a later stage of her life. The lack of answers is the very reason why Rose attempts to consider multiple perspectives at once in hope for more answers, motivating her development through adolescence. Finally, Rose develops greater self awareness, a greater awareness of others and the ability to consider multiple perspectives, as shown by her mental consideration of the possible repercussions for accusing the minister of harassment or asking him to take his hand away. Her evidence of awareness for herself and others is demonstrated through her inability to ask the minister to take his hands away. Due to an increased awareness of others, Rose feared the other passengers would fixate their attention on her, showing her shyness in through her mental thoughts. Allegory In Starship Troopers The alien in Starship Troopers is satirically literal, and the uniformity Oates noted emphasised by a FedNet clip showing gleeful children stomping on common cockroaches. These bugs bear no resemblance or connection to the Arachnids, other than they are both insect species, yet are equally demonised as part of the war effort. This can be read as an allegory, as Frank has observed, for the tendency in official, news and fictional discourses to represent terrorists and the terror threat, as alien and radically other. (Frank, 2011, p. 154 158) Both Jackson and Ott have connected such definitional issues to violence and power, as Ott states, Language homogenizes them, reinforcing the prevailing perception that they are all the same and can be ... She notes, All Americans would have benefited from comprehensive, balanced, probing reporting and editorializing allowing them to make well informed decisions.... such as the question of whether to torture known and suspected terrorists (Nacos, 2007, p172) In a subsequent study, Nacos also observed the mass media were reluctant to label the abuse and degradation at Abu Ghraib as torture, once there was evidence of such, instead choosing other terms such as alleged abuse and mistreatment. (Nacos, 2011, pp. 289 290) Jamail furthered this observation, stating, The media try hard to place the spotlight on a minor issue thereby attempting to obfuscate the larger violation. This was clearly visible in the case of the Abu Ghraib reports. (Jamail, 2012, p. 301) Oates attributes this failure to the patriotic constraint experienced by the media post 9/11 which limited acceptable debate and challenge . A Mangers role is to provide a stress free environment that allows an Artist to flourish and focus creatively, while primarily the Artist s Manager focuses on the more tactical deeds. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is important for every manager to know which lower level needs are essential in fueling and supporting his/her Artists function and performance on a day to day basis. Skipping a meal might not seem like a big deal to some, but eating is an extremely important part of every person s basic needs to survive and function effectively. Food fuels the body and without fuel, it is more difficult for many individuals to carry out tasks and focus. Between 6 72 hours without eating, the human body enters a state called ketosis as it begins to fast or starve. Because there is now very little glucose in the blood stream, one s body must then begin to break down fat for energy which is broken down into fatty acids. The brain can t function off this and it impairs normal brain function. (B.T. and Challis, 2016) If not eating impairs brain functionality, then it would easily affect an artist work ethic in the studio, singing ability or even writing habits. Knowing how long his/her artist can continue to work effectively without food, allows the manager to prepare an effective environment ensuring that one of the artists basic psychological needs are met, and therefore they can motivate themselves to move towards a higher tier of motivational needs. The stamina of each artist is different, and some artist can go longer periods of time without eating, and still have the ability to focus, and execute their given tasks, while others have to eat at specific ... • 10. Applications Of Low Power Integrated Intelligent Sensors Applications of low power integrated intelligent sensors [1 5] has been prolific in recent years, for instance in environmental observation [8 10], security surveillance [11] and infrastructure communication [12], and biomedical and healthcare monitoring [6, 7]. In particular, as the baby boomers enter retirement, medical cost becomes significant. For example, in 2014, health care accounted for 20% of federal spending in the U.S. []. A major problem in current healthcare systems is that sensing and processing medical data require significant resources. In order to alleviate this problem, wearable medical devices are expected to provide automatic monitoring and processing of physiology signals, and more importantly, identifying abnormal signals and contact medical systems for help if necessary, as shown in Fig. 1. Although such sensors usually have wireless data communication capability through body area network, due to limited battery power supply, sending raw sensed data is usually not an option. This is because that in a wireless sensor, usually radio communication power is much higher than signal processing power []. Thus, it is expected that the sensors are capable of providing preprocessing of raw data based on DSP algorithms and just sending the processed results. Such sensors are called intelligent sensors []. Besides the capability of signal processing and wireless communication, low power, high accuracy, high reliability, and small footprint are also listed as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Knowledge Question: To what extent does our sense perception limit the way we perceive reality? Word Count: 800 Knowledge is an extensive concept which has no precise definition since it has no end or limit. In a constantly changing world, several individuals have different upbringings, prejudices, viewpoints and the way we perceive or understand certain things may be different from how they are in reality. Firstly sense perception, in this case is simply what the eyes see, the nose smells, the ears hear or the body feels. Secondly, reality is not a subjective knowledge, but rather an objective one. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our senses help us gather and respond to information about our surroundings, which in turn aids our survival through our reciprocation to most sensory information.Improvements in science have enhanced the quality of life for many people with sensory disabilities by providing things as alternative methods of communication, increasing mobility and technology for sensory enhancement. For example, sound and smell has a strong influence in our daily lives it increases our emotional quotient thus improving our productivity during work. Therefore, the way we perceive reality can be tied to our emotions hence, sense perception in some ways can grow our perception of reality. To conclude, I personally believe that sense perception is dependent on many external factors thus can limit the way we perceive reality and can sometimes betray us or memory that influences our ways of knowing. Reality is altered everyday to some extent. However, we have become intelligent enough to understand this idea over the decades, hence we can not let these things come in the way of truth. Truth be told, the different areas and corners of that room begin to feel as far off as urban areas or deserts. At one stage, a character recommends separating this space to speak to the Unionist North and Confederate South, and it s not all that quite a bit of a stretch to envision, in spite of the fact that the elusive severe amoralism of every last one is such that tribal unwaveringness segment was never going to work. Negative Effects Of Global Warming Global warming is the continuous increase in temperature of the earth surface, land, water, and atmosphere that is a huge natural phenomenon that has a tremendous negative impact all over the world to animals, people, land, and earth because of human activity being a big factor such as the excessive burning of fossil fuels, nitrogen based fertilizers, deforestation, and automobiles thus causing negative effects to earth such as the polar ice melting, the sea level rising, melting glaciers, agriculture. The negative effects of global warming have caused sea levels to rise. Sea level rise is caused by thermal expansion of the oceans, melting of glaciers and ice caps, melting of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets, and changes in terrestrial storage( Impacts of Global Warming ). If sea levels continue to rise it will have a bigger worldwide effect on earth in many ways. For instance, the changes in sea level can cause the additional increase of hurricanes, floods, the increase of erosion, and it can affect the marine ecosystem. It was exciting to be a Manager of the supply chain of a mobile phone manufacturer. I learned very quickly the pressures of running such a large operation. In this review, I will discuss lessons learned regarding conceptions shown in the simulation. I will explain how if completing the simulation again, what I would complete differently. In conclusion, I will talk about my key overall takeaways from this exercise. Year One In Year 1 while in the Design room, I chose the Wifi and Stylish options. My intuitive thoughts were consumer based and not supplier driven. However, these combined options offered an estimated favorable profit for the company. While forecasting I chose to forecast below average for Model A and above average for Model B. Again, my decision making was consumer driven and I as a consumer would prefer a stylish mobile device over a base model, therefore estimated demand at a higher level. In choosing suppliers in Year 1, key drivers were lead times, setup and unit carrying costs, and capacity. The decision were also based off of my forecast for each model. I learned quickly as each month passed, I was out of inventory therefore, making a costly $2.0MM adjustment with one of my suppliers. In this scenario, if running the simulation again I would better match the supplier with the forecasted demand. Year Two In Year 2, I was advised not to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While Frye standard and Rule 702 do have qualifications that need to be met for expert testimony to be used, Daubert standard has in my opinion the best qualification standards that must be met for expert testimony to be used. Based on the articles, for expert testimony to go through in the court all a witness needed using the Frye standard was have whatever technique, principle, or procedure be generally accepted in the scientific community. I do not feel like this is enough qualifications in any scientific field especially in the field of forensic science. The procedure or technique used needs to be proved reliable and can give consistent results, not just be accepted by the community. Also, with the Frye standard no one is checking and reviewing the witness procedure or technique to see if it s reliable, accurate, or the error rate for it. • 16. Feminist Liberation Movement I wonder why it took such an extended time for women to come up with a feminist spiritual movement in the Church, since it seems like they have been oppressed for so long? Feminist spirituality is a relatively new field that has grown out of the struggle of women for equality in both society and Church (CTM p. 184). Feminist spirituality is an expression of a current theology that has originated in Latin America that emphasizes the theme of liberation from oppression (CTM p. 255). Additionally, I wonder if the Second Vatican Council had something to do with the upbringing of this movement? I also wonder if the Civil Rights Movement during the 1960s, provided women with the fearlessness to march for their rights in society and the Church? Feminist ... (https://www.uncpress.org/book/9780807873533/catholic and feminist/) In other words, it is evidently comprehensible that the Second Vatican Council pushed women to the side, consequently establishing a movement. In addition, I think that women have the right to object their rights within the Church, with the feminist movement, owing to the fact that they have been defined in terms of their sexual, reproductive functions, values or personal possibilities which are determined by biology (CTM p. 185). Ultimately, this makes women feel oppressed and alienated from themselves, which I believe is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some fairy tale revisions are heavily criticized for deviating from the original text so much that they no longer feel the same or offer the same messages. Whether or not a revision is successful is entirely a matter of personal opinion. In my opinion, a revision does not have to follow the same plot as the original text as long as it is able to keep the moral intact. For me, a revision is successful when it modernizes the tale to be more relatable to people in modern day society, and/or sheds new light back on the original text. He does not state whether the step sisters are attractive or ugly, only that Cinderella is prettier than them. This is important because it offers the message that appearances do not matter, but how someone treats others does matter. This is a message that parents often try to instill in their children nowadays, so it is nice to have a story that offers the same message. The second reason why I consider this version to be successful is because it offers a positive message to the audience. This version of the tale contains a message of forgiveness. This message is evident in the text at the end of the story where it says Cinderella raised them up, and kissed them, and forgave them with all her heart, and asked them to love her always. (Perrault 15) This element is important because it proves that Cinderella is truly genuine. Cinderella demonstrates her genuine kindness by choosing to forgive her step sisters even when she comes to be in a position of power where she could get revenge. I find this to be an important part to the story because there is no better lesson to teach to children and young adults than the lesson of being genuine and forgiving. Sea World s goals are to strengthen knowledge for youth about the ocean habitat and ecology of the marine lives, encourage the public about the marine biodiversity conservation and promote youth education and public awareness. Positioning Sea World as teach through lively activities is also a priority. Past media coverage of Sea World has been largely marine mammal topics based, with little substantial discussion around animal conservation or Sea World information. She looked around the room, in greetings to her guests and her lips stretched wide, flashing a white teeth smile. It has grown, developed, and changed just as humanity has. Naturally, with such an impressively expansive history, various avenues of art are visited time and time again by new artists. Artists seek not only to bring their own personal flavor and meaning to timeless concepts, but to find new ways to approach them. While not every single creator and craftsman can make such a great impact on art or the world, their efforts have given birth to some truly magnificent and unique works. In an effort to create a more meaningful understanding, as well a deeper appreciation, of the nuances, techniques, and design choices employed in these attempts, a comparison will be made between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With a Screen (1909 1910) and Henri Matisse s Blue Nude (Souvenir of Biskra) (1907). In this essay, each artist s approach to the subject of the female nude will be closely analyzed, compared, and contrasted, as will their styles of painting, handling of visual elements, and their use of the principles of design. An interpretation of each work and what the artist intended when creating it will also be provided. The analysis of these paintings will begin with Vuillard s oil painting Interior With a Screen. • 30. Unknown Vs Evil In Frankenstein One of the many themes in James Whale s 1931 film Frankenstein is that of the known vs the unknown or good vs evil. Whale uses the motif of fire as a powerful extension of what the good can do to the darkness. Fire is used as a way to keep the Monster or the evil representation of the film in isolation and outside of the known world and also as a way to show that the known or good will always win against the unknown or evil. Known vs unknown or good vs evil falls into the category of a knowledge narrative according to Andrew Tudor. Tudor says that the narrative itself functions by proposing the existence of a body of knowledge capable of mediating between these domains of known and unknown (83). The first distinct moment where there is realization of the darkness/unknown trying to seep into the world of the light/known is when Henry Frankenstein says that his monster has only been kept in complete darkness and to wait until [he] brings him into the light (30:30 30:35). After his speech the Monster walks into the room and Frankenstein closes the light as if to wait for the right moment to bring him into light or the world of the known. When the Monster finally sits down on a chair, Frankenstein opens the window on the roof to reveal the sunlight (32:07). Once the sunlight is revealed to the Monster, it slowly turns his head upwards and walks very slowly and carefully into the light. • 31. The General Behavior Model Is Developed By Ludwig Brenner... GEBMO or the General Behavior Model was developed by Ludwig Brenner as a way to predict hazards before they happened. Brenner devised a system of scenarios that could occur with multiple factors for each element. The system is basically designed on a cause effect relationship. One thing happens because of another which leads to a result (Haight, 2012). This model was used to develop an emergency action plan for a small community surrounding a gas station. The first step to any emergency action plan is to conduct a hazard assessment and the best way conduct to do that is to conduct a walk through of the facility or area (Haight, 2012). In this scenario, our facility is a service station with fuel holding tanks and convenience store items which is located in close proximity to the center of town, a housing development, an elementary school, playground, baseball field, and wooded area. The nature of the business makes it a hazard, the location of it makes it a hazard to the community. Using the General Behavior Model, possible hazards and their reactions, as well as ways to prevent them are discussed. When working with fuels such as gasoline and diesel, physical hazards to humans are possible. Gasoline is highly explosive and flammable, while diesel is flammable. The use of GEBMO is to prevent or reduce the number of fires and explosions. GEBMO is broken down into seven steps. The first step is to predict a stressing event such as a fire when a tanker is ... • 40. Chalcopyrite Synthesis Lab Report The process of extraction of copper varies depending of what ore, copper is being extracted from. Chalcopyrite (CuFeS2) is a sulphide ore and it is one the most common ores of copper. The process of extracting copper from chalcopyrite is a quite complex procedure in which both physical and chemical processes are involved. As chalcopyrite is around 0.5% copper and 99.5% unwanted rocky material , the first step to extract copper from chalcopyrite is to increase the concentration of copper in the ore to high enough levels by getting rid of as much of the unwanted rocky material . This can be done by a physical process called froth flotation . The process of froth flotation is quite simple and requires little energy. The process is as follows: 1. The ore is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A substance is added to the crushed ore. This substance attaches only to the metal compound particles and gives them a hydrophobic (water repellent) property. For copper, this substance is often pine oil. 3. The ore is then put into a large bath containing water and a foaming agent. Air is blown inside to make bubbles. 4. Because the compound s particles are hydrophobic, the bubbles will be able to catch them and bring them afloat where they can flow out from the bath while the unwanted rocky material stays in the bath. 5. The ore now contains around 30% copper and it is ready to be smelted. This ore is called concentrated ore Once the ore has been concentrated it is put inside a furnace where it is mixed with sand and oxygen. The temperature inside the furnace is risen up to around 1000oC and oxygen is blown inside. Due to the intense heat inside the furnace, the following things happen:  The copper(II) ions in the chalcopyrite are reduced to copper(I) sulphide  The iron in the chalcopyrite reacts with the sand and it is converted into an iron (II) silicate slag which floats on the copper (I) sulphide and is discarded.  Most of the sulphur in the chalcopyrite is converted into sulphur dioxide ... In most cases, they are created on location, but the decision is influenced by the size and nature of the project, taking into account the restrictions of the site. 3.1 Casting Process Prior to the panels being cast to size, a concrete slab is poured to use as a base for the tilt up panels to be cast onto. An engineer is then required to set out boundaries and help in the set up of formwork, which is then erected in the shape of the panels. This includes making space for openings such as doors and windows within the design. Formwork is positioned for all panels, in a jigsaw like formation on the slab, as to allow for steady project flow. Formwork is to be created to such a height as to allow for multiple castings to be made on top of each other. The slab is then coated within formwork with a bond breaker as to allow for the most comfort when tilting up the panels. As in regular concrete construction, reinforcing is positioned where necessary. Once everything is positioned as required, concrete is then ready to be poured. When the concrete has been poured, manual labour is required to trowel for a smooth finish, either by hand or machine trowel. This can leave a smooth finish, or textured, but must be compliant with designs for consistency. With the removal of formwork, and last minute detailing to the panels, they are ready to be lifted into place. 3.2 Installation/Tilt Up Process

  • 44. Space and Mars s Habitability Synopsis: This research involves discovering how Martian astronauts might deal with their supplies during a long term mission to Mars and on Mars. The goal is to show that people can develop technologies to help humans survive in space and on Mars in the future, such as producing food, recycling water and air, and storing energy. The important technology is the Controlled Ecological Life Support System (CELSS) that can help in dealing with the supply issues as well as some possible methods to make energy on Mars. The overall approach of this mission is to create background knowledge about space habitability for humans in the manned mission to Mars. Upon researching this issue, I have found that with such powers of invention people should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The weight of those supplies affects the efficiency of a launch. It is too heavy for the spacecraft to take off and overcome the gravitational pull of the Earth to get into space. We know that astronauts traveling to Mars would not be able to stay for a couple days or weeks like the Apollo space mission. Rather, the Martian astronauts will need to remain in space at least one to three years during the mission (NASA 2012). If we spend more than nine months in space, we have to build a shelter which can protect the astronauts from being exposure to radiation risk from the Sun (NASA N.d.a). Therefore, we need to have good shielding, such as water and cement, but they are very heavy. Additionally, the astronauts have to bring food, drinking water, air, clothes, medical supplies, and other things that they need for the mission. All of these things added up together will take about three million pounds. That is infeasible for them to make it all at once because a spacecraft just only lift fifty thousand pounds against the Earth s gravity into space. So, they have to make sixty launches for their supplies to be on Mars. It takes a longer time and costs a lot of money (NASA N.d.a). Therefore, astronauts can just bring with them some canned foods that are dehydrated and preserved to keep the foods for a long time and to save weight for the spacecraft (NASA 2012). Also, soybeans and wheat are suitable because they are light weight, very nutritious, and take a small amount of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Factors Affecting The Intake Of Fruits From Trees Essay Check referencing and put scientific names of table in annex 1 into italics Chapter 5 The availability, accessibility, utilization and stability factors affecting the intake of fruits from trees in forest areas in Cameroon Introduction and problem In sub Saharan Africa, just under one in every four people, or 23.2 percent of the population, is estimated to be undernourished in 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). This is the highest prevalence of undernourishment for any region in the World and, with about 220 million hungry people in 2014 16, the second highest burden in absolute terms. The number of undernourished people increased by 44 million between 1990 to 92 and 2014 to16. In the Central African sub region, the number of undernourished people more than doubled between 1990 92 and 2014 16 (FAO et al., 2015). The lack of progress in the rate of undernourishment in absolute terms reflects prevailing problems in the sub region, notably poor food consumption patterns caused amongst others by limited understanding on the dimensions of food security, political instability and forest degradation. It is therefore absolute to carry out investigations to properly understand the dimensions of food security especially with changing environmental conditions. Promoting the consumption of fruits in poor communities and amongst vulnerable groups could help in addressing problems of nutrient deficiency and malnutrition (Kehlenbeck et al., 2013; Place et al., 2013; Tchoundjeu et al., 2012). ... Interdependence Between Manhood And Responsibility Responsibility and manhood can be considered as two particular notions but they are tackled in The House on Mango Street and Bloodline by Ernest J Gaines and Sandra Cisneros in such a way they are sometime interacting in many situations. That is to say, each of them cannot go without the other. The authors, throughout their books they establish many aspects which support that manhood and responsibility are linked when they consider sometime that manhood can be reached by assuming responsibility which is proved thanks to the behaviors of a few characters in both books. Nevertheless this situation of interdependence between manhood and responsibility does not keep Ernest J Gaines and Sandra Cisneros to establish limits between these two notions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gaines and Cisneros end up to disassociate the notion of responsibility and manhood throughout some characters in their books for example Eddie in the story A long Day in November in which one can notice that Gaines tries to clarify that responsibility does not always go with manhood , that is to say, sometimes responsibility defines only a personal advantage, that is why the responsibility of Eddie has nothing to do with the responsibility that leads to manhood because when he decides to burn his car, he is committed to lose it in order to make his wife to return home in return. Gaines makes the comparison between assuming responsibility and making a choice as Eddie do. In addition we can also say that Eddie s responsibility is a little bite complex because though he takes responsibility but due to his weakness face to his wife and the way he let himself to be manipulated by his mother s wife remove all his manhood. Therefore the responsibility as presented by Gaines throughout Eddie has no link and relationship with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. People Corrupt Power In George Orwell s Animal Farm And... William Gaddis once said Power doesn t corrupt people, People corrupt power In Animal Farm and Mouseland both of the animals who have the power take over and create corrupt and unequal societies. This causes the societies to fall under the rules of greedy and selfish leaders. The authors of Animal Farm and Mouseland use the narrative techniques of characterization and conflict to illustrate messages about how power can destroy societies and take away the equality in the society. First, in Animal Farm and Mouseland the authors use characterization to show how power can destroy societies and can take away the equality that is in the society. For example, in Animal Farm, George Orwell uses the pigs as a way to show the different levels of importance. It shows how the other animals are always below the pigs. On pages 35 and 36 it states You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? Many of us actually dislike milk and apples. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this had been proven by science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. Orwell uses the words absolutely necessary to the well being of a pig making it seem the most important to the pigs and no other animals. This means that the pigs started to take the things they wanted and decided they were the ones who had all of the power. This shows that the power they created could give them more equal rights than the others. In a similar ways Tommy Douglas uses the cats to show how the other animals are below them and the cats are the ones who have power. In paragraph 3 of Mouseland it states A government made up of big, fat, black cats. Douglas states fat, black, cats. characterizing the cats are lazy and useless. This means that in Mouseland there was a society run by animals who didn t do what they needed and they were lazy. This shows that just because of the way the cats are characterized they aren t good leaders and they have the power. This shows that in Animal Farm and Mouseland the people in power were characterized as greedy and selfish, but came off to the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
