Business Operations And New Ideas
The company s managers are frequently busy with business operations and new ideas. Apparently, IT
structures was never appropriated with organizational vision and IT was in an important state of
disorganization.
IT doesn t have reliability in the lines of business. This is a known deficiency and sooner or later will
be addressed in the reconversion of IT.
Business operations are not understood by IT employee. Business unit managers were making IT
decisions based on their current knowledge and needs. The connections of the processes are
incomprehensible to both teams of the organization.

Well organized structure provides business employees with opportunities and how to improve their
skills. First of all, the multidivisional operation needs to provide overall operations appropriate in a
SOA structure. Because, there is no guarantee that SOA will fit to company s existing package. The
managers, especially CIO is in the best position to involve and communicate with employees. The
CIO must hire senior management who can communicate with IT employees and educate them. IT
organizational structures must be centralized, understandable and moderate.
Outline a project selection process for AgCredit to ensure alignment with the enterprise business
vision.
Organizations should be careful and select the projects they decide to continue from between many
opportunities. Apparently, there is no simple decision. The consequences of poor process and decision
could be expensive and irrecoverable. A number of useful projects are existing to managers liable for
measuring possible business needs. AgCredit s CIO must know that his job is getting harder and must
also connect with people at all levels of the organization. New enterprise ideas must be delivered
quickly and directly connected to measures of business development. All of these developments
provide an idea of how the business people and business process work each other and provide more
understandable process which would make business process more vigorous and useful.

Ebola Virus Disease Epidemic Summary
The airline restrictions harmed West Africa s already fragile government by hampering the flow of aid
and trade. The Analysis of the West African Ebola Virus Disease Epidemic shines a light on the need
for reform in the Global Health System by emphasizing the failures of the government officials and
organizations. Unity opens many opportunities for a stronger government as Friedman and Gostin
emphasized in their article. Friedman and Gostin argue that the government failed to unity by saying
states imposed travel restrictions and quarantines contrary to the demands of WHO and the United
Nations (UN), hindering the response of aid and travel, but critics would argue that every state has
their own security interest that are seen as safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unity between all agencies and governments will allow for everyone s voice to be heard. Group
compromise and discussion is possible when all systems are working together for a common goal;
such as, overcoming an epidemic. Forming a strong framework requires accountable leaders to work
constructively with other organizations as equal partners. When organizations unite, leaders are held
responsible for their global practices, motivating action rather than hesitation. Accountable leaders are
essential in a strong government because they take action and motivate change. When a government
has weak leaders, actions are postponed and hesitation causes delays in funding, education, and
volunteers. Civil groups, along with other non governmental organizations, need their opinions heard.
Uniting together all forces, not only creates a stronger, trusting bond between countries, but also
creates an unstoppable fighting force against epidemics. In the article, Gostin and Friedman
acknowledged the contributions a non governmental agency, Médecins Sans Frontiéres, made to help
control the raging epidemic. A representative of Médecins Sans Frontiéres said without accountable
leaders there is no one to take responsibility which is what he claims to be a major issue in the Ebola
crisis (1904). Other government agencies; such as, Human Resources and the United

Mortality And Morality In Hamlet
Mortality, Morality and Hamlet
Many of the tragedies of William Shakespeare mirror the human experience, if to an inflated scale:
love and interfamilial relationships in Romeo and Juliet, power and guilt (or lack thereof) in Julius
Caesar, and revenge, death and morality in Hamlet. An important theme within these specific facets of
human experience is the idea of suicide, the act of taking one s life. Hamlet is a young and dramatic
prince of Denmark whose father has just been murdered and might have an overdeveloped sense of
vengeance and existentialism, two flaws which lend themselves kindly to the theme of self slaughter.
During the play, Hamlet performs two major soliloquys about his relationship with existence and his
own objections, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this monologue, Hamlet reflects on the inevitable suffering of existence and the uncertainty of
death. He considers whether it is truly better to be alive than dead when life means to suffer the slings
and arrows of outrageous fortune and to stay alive is to live through the possibility of bad experiences
and oppression (III.i.58). Hamlet says that to fight against a sea of troubles of life and luck is to end it,
once and for all, and who would bear all the awfulness of life when they have the ability to make it all
go away (III.i.59)? According to Hamlet, they who are afraid of the undiscovered country from whose
bourn no traveler returns are those who will bear the whips and scorns of time (III.i.70, 79 80). The
one who is afraid of death will endure any treatment in life to avoid the uncertainty that awaits many
after they die that those people are afraid of. The main point of the to be, or not to be soliloquy is that
even when life is inherently full of suffering, people endure because death is unpredictable and they
may be afraid of what faces them in the afterlife. Hamlet also believes that this fear makes even the
bravest people cowards and not many people would put themselves in the position of uncertainty, even
if it means ending

Developing A Theory Of Information Science Research
Developing a Theory in Information Science Research: A Review of Experts Advice
Abstract
Despite the growing number of theories within the field of information science, it still remains a
difficult task for some emerging scholars in the field to clearly articulate the development of new
theories from research studies. This paper reviewed and collated the different views of scholars on
what a theory is and how a good theory can be developed. It explains the concept of a theory and the
different components that make up a theory. The paper discusses the different processes of theory
development by emphasizing what theory is and what theory is not. This review found that scholars
differ in their definition of a theory, which led to using terms such as model, paradigm, framework and
theory interchangeably. It found the lack of theoretical construct in a study to be one of the factors
why articles are rejected for publication. It pointed that producing a paper that contributes to theory
rests on the ability of scholars to develop original and new ideas that bring something insightful into
scholarship, which can be applied to bring about fresh thinking. This paper may be of benefit to
researchers, especially younger academics who are the future of scholarship in the field of information
science and other disciplines.
Introduction
Studies with strong theoretical perspectives are often regarded as adding value to any field of learning.
It is therefore essential for scholars

Properties Of Phosphorus 31 System Essay
1) Properties of Phosphorus 31 system: Ideal phosphorus system has Relatively high mass difference
between large and small isotope ratio (Large isotope: Small Isotope). It has high natural abundance so,
we can easily measure practically. It is also related to Even Magic mass number. This type of system
participates in many forms of fractionation. This system should be conservative in the process.
Generally, sources are limited to others and quantity. It may be related to the signal such as high noise
in the system. Phosphorus 31 is also little bit less sensitive than proton and somewhat higher sensitive
than carbon. It has also wide chemical shift range. Application of P 31: Phosphorus is mainly used in
NMR spectroscopy (Nuclear magnetic resonance). It is one kind of analytical technique because it has
100 % isotopic abundance and relatively high magnetogyric ratio compare to other isotopes. It has
also spin of ½ which makes spectra easy to understand and interpret. It also used to assay purity and to
assign structure of P containing compounds. By using this, we can resolve it within its characteristics.
As we discussed, In NMR, P 31 use widely particularly in Monitoring reactions, Measuring epoxide
content of carbon nanomaterials and Assaying sample purity. 2) There are so many isotope systems
has application based on the radioactive decay of isotope and buildup of the same isotope. Ar Ar
dating system is one of them. In this system, the key is that

Greek Mythology And The Lightening Thief
It is a lovely day out, the bright sun shining down, the smell of beautiful flowers, the sounds of birds
chirping. Then, a chariot sweeps across a meadow, taking one unfortunate goddess, deep deep down to
the frightful underworld, to be seated by the King of the Dead,
Hades. Greek mythology is very interesting and can also be very interestingly weird. In the lightening
thief we see the very interesting part about Greek mythology. The lightening thief uses the modern day
society to tell the adventure packed story. In this essay I will give you an overview of Greek
mythology, along with a summary and analysis of The Lightening Thief.
Hero is the main theme of this story. We see the theme of hero throughout various parts of
2
the story. Courage, Love and sacrifice, and man vs. society all connect back to the idea of heroism.
Cultural and Historical Context
The Lightening Thief story is set in modern day time. Around 2000 2004 is where it all starts.
Although the setting is modern day, he author is telling Greek mythology, which began in
500 BC. Greek mythology is very interestingly different. Greek mythology also includes a number of
monsters and strange creatures such as the one eyed Cyclops in the Odysseus story, a gigantic boar in
the fabled Kalydonian hunt, sphinxes, giant snakes, fire breathing bulls and more. These creatures may
represent chaos and lack of reason, for example, the centaurs halfman and half horse. (Cartwright,

How Did The Treaty Of Versailles Punish Germany
The Treaty of Versailles is a peace treaty, where it basically punishes Germany. It makes them
powerless to a point that they cannot be able to create another war. This treaty was way too harsh on
the Germans. It is a fact that they were not the only ones fighting in the war, and they should not be
the only one, who should be punished. Everyone must take responsibilities for their drastic decisions.
All of the major countries had a role in this war, not only Germany. The Germans were stripped down
of everything they had. It left Germans helplessly and made to live in poverty. In order to pay off the
damages that were made, they were treated like slaves. Instead of making peace with Germany, the
Treaty of Versailles was sparking another fire

Gender, Social, And Social Sciences And Humanities
gender role is a theoretical construct in the social sciences and humanities that refers to a set of social
and behavioral norms that, within a specific culture, are widely considered to be socially appropriate
for individuals of a specific sex. Socially accepted gender roles differ widely between different
cultures.
Sex is what we are categorized based on our reproductive organs; female or male. Sex is pretty so
concrete, for the most part, unless you are born with some rare genetic sex chromosomal disorder.
Gender, it, well can be harder to determine. Gender is merely the state of being male or female. Like
with the states of water, the state of being male or female, can be manipulated or changed. With each
gender comes certain gender roles. These roles are to help accentuate one s sex to society. Gender
roles have been around for centuries. The greatest thing we notice, when it comes to gender roles, is
how much they vary from culture to culture.
Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women s movement must concentrate
on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage.
Sheila Cronin

Essay On Post Test
Pretest, Posttest, Interview Questions:
The pre test (Show What You Know) and post test (Show What You Have Learned) that I designed
had similar questions to what the students were going to see within the lesson. When giving them the
pre test a few students got neverous but I assured them that this is for my own information so I can
better teach everyone. I told them to all at least try and answer the questions to the best of their ability.
Both the pre test and post test are attached at the end of the lesson. The following are the results of the
pre test and post test. Students coded in green increased from pre to post test, students in yellow
remained the same, students in red lost points from pre to post test. The two students with an asterisk
are the interviewed students.
After careful consideration and a conversation with my host teacher, I chose to interview Z.D. as my
student at a higher mathematical level and D. W. as my student at a lower mathematical level.
Although, Z. D. s score went down from the pre test to the post test, his work showed that his
mathematical understanding increased due to the lesson. He only lost points on providing his answers
in simplest form, meaning he needs practice on reducing fractions. I chose D.W. because he is
struggling in the class but did show improvement from pre to post test. It is important to note that
D.W. is currently being tested for special education after being in tier three instruction for math and

The Mayan Script
This source provides a thorough timeline of the major events that took place in deciphering the Mayan
scripts, beginning in the 16th century when Spanish invaders conquered the Maya empire and forced
them to convert to Christianity and speak and write in Spanish. In addition to that, the Spanish
invaders wanted to wipe out the ancient Maya script. For example, a friar named Diego Landa staged
a massive burning of hundreds of Maya bark paper books because he believed them to be unorthodox.
Yet, four years later Landa wrote a manuscript about the Maya called Relation of the Things of
Yucatan . Coupled with the Dresden Codex (one of the four Maya illustrated books surviving today),
that many scholars believe one of the conquistadors, Hernando

From the restaurants you eat at, to grocery stores, to gas stations and even places one would go for

For this exact reason, we are going to compare the prevalence of alcoholism and discuss other factors
about it in the following three different countries: The United States, Germany and Italy.
Before we go any further, lets learn a little bit more about alcoholism. According to Webster s New

stems from an event or life problem the person cannot overcome. The individual has to want to do it
for themselves or someone else in their life. Step one would be counseling. Before curing a disease,
you must know what is causing it. Then, they need a challenge and a reason why they should stop.

Modern Hero vs. Anglo Saxon Hero Essay
Today s modern day hero has similarities and differences than the Anglo Saxon hero. The two heroes
each have different values they believe in. Also, they are motivated to fight for different reasons. An
Anglo Saxon hero also fights differently than a modern day hero. An example of this comparison is
Bono from the band U2 and Beowulf. Both modern day heroes, like Bono and Anglo Saxon heroes,
like Beowulf, try to improve their societies, but do it in different ways and for different reasons.
Anglo Saxon heroes have only a few things in common with modern day heroes. One of the things is
that they both want to improve the society that they come from. That I, alone and with the help of my
men, may purge all evil from this hall (Raffel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He raised his arms and seized her by the shoulder (Raffel 509 510). Beowulf and Anglo Saxon heroes
fight their battles with their fists. On the other hand, modern hero fights with their minds. In 1992
Bono took part in a campaign organized by Greenpeace against radioactive pollution (The City
Council of Turin, no page). Bono has organized and created many foundations that help and save
people all over the world.
Another Difference these two types of heroes have is why they fight their battles. I sold my life for
this treasure and I sold it well (Raffel 820 821). The Anglo Saxon heroic code states that Anglo Saxon
heroes are seeking fortune. Beowulf makes many references in the poem of how he seeks wealth.
Modern day heroes are the complete of this. All of Bono s foundations are non profit and the money
they raise goes right to various charities. In modern day society it is considered greedy for a celebrity
to seek money. On the other hand, it is perfectly normal and accepted for an Anglo Saxon hero to seek
wealth.
It was respected and not uncommon for an Anglo Saxon hero to boast. This is a major difference
between Anglo Saxon heroes and modern day heroes. Bono has not once bragged about all of the good
things he has done, or the money he makes. Meanwhile, through out the whole poem Beowulf is
bragging about his strengths, riches, and ancestors. All modern day heroes would not be considered

The Potential for a Severe Food Shortage in the United States
A severe shortage of food in the United States could occur from many causes. Farms could stop
growing crops and breeding animals. Some sort of bacteria could sweep through the country killing
different food plants. The more important part of the shortage of food however would not be the
causes, but the effects. The stance of the country s economy, the well being of middle and lower class
families, and the quality of stores that used to sell the products would all decline greatly if an event as
severe as an extreme shortage of food were to occur. General stores generate a large profit from the
sale of food. Some stores like Whole Foods and King Soopers do not sell much besides food products.
If there were to be a severe shortage of food, stores like Whole Foods, Walmart, Costco, and King
Soopers would take a severe hit in terms of income and the ability to compete with other stores. Places
like these would not be able to keep up financially if there were a lack of people buying their food
products. There are other non food products that these stores may sell, but these other products would
not be able to sell due to the fact that people would be focusing more on ways to get food rather than
buying a new T.V. or a new pair of shoes. Families in cities rely on general stores and health food
stores to obtain food products. A severe shortage of food throughout the country would raise
potentially difficult questions for families. Where are they going to get food now that stores

Mythology in The Virgin Suicides
When one first thinks of mythology the first things that first come to mind are probably stories of
Greek gods and goddesses, and the humans that prayed to them. We often forget that mythology does
not end or begin with the Greeks. Authors have been using mythology for many would say centuries
as a source for symbols, characters, situations, or images that conjures up universal feedback. In the
case of The Virgin Suicides by Jeffrey Eugenides one of the archetypes that we see play out
throughout the novel is the one of The Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary in The Virgin Suicides

Cecilia is not known to be very religious; but yet, she is found holding a laminated picture of the
Virgin Mary. As the story develops we almost forget this small but important detail amidst all the other
symbols Eugenides throws at us but we come back to the laminated picture of the Virgin Mary during
the last months of the remaining Libson girls lives. Just as we had begun to despair of ever being near
them again, more laminated pictures of the Virgin Mary began showing up (Eugenides 182). We begin
to see the significance of the laminated picture of the Virgin Mary had not only to the boys but also to
the Libson girls. These cards were their only way of communicating with the outside world. They
knew that if they left these cards the person who found them would know that it was coming from
them because of the fact that Cecilia was found holding one on the day of her attempted suicide. The
card Cecelia held and the last card the girls left were almost a sign of bad things to come. The last card
the girls left said Tomorrow. Midnight. Wait for our signal (Eugenides 195). The remaining Libson
girls wanted to in a way imitate the night their younger sister s failed suicide attempt.
The Virgin Mary also provides an allegory between her, the archetype, and the Libson girls. In the
Catholic church the Virgin Mary is the mother of of God and

Early Signs Of A Progressive Dementia
The early signs of a progressive dementia often bring discord to families, because siblings disagree on
what is really wrong and chalk up the changes they are seeing to depression, boredom, a recent illness
or even allergies . One of the family members usually suspects something like Alzheimer s but the
other disagree thus diagnosis is delayed. Early dementia is also known as MCI (Mild Cognitive
Impairment) and only about half of those with this diagnosis move on to one of the more progressive
dementias. So, it is understandable that some in a family might say Grandma was just like Dad. But,
she was able to take care of herself till she was 85. The importance of early diagnosis is three fold: 1)
Allows the person with a progressive illness to be more involved with the planning for the future. 2)
Allows the AD person to participate in drug studies and/or to take medications that extend the
functionality for activities of daily living. 3) Helps the primary care givers to plan for the future so
they are not always wondering what will happen they then can start planning for sharing the care, cost
of care and legal documents that will be needed. If your family member is younger and you have not
sought a diagnosis it is sometimes a good idea to seek Long Term Insurance before the diagnosis
because would most often a dementia diagnosis would prohibit that individual from qualifying.

Between Shades Of Grey Essay
Between Shades of Gray
1. Under the rule of Stalin, people were sent to be housed at the Gulag camps, by then they were using
them as a slave labor. These camps housed a wide range of convicts from minor criminals to political

spending their sentences in prison they got taken to the Gulag.
Yes, after reading both the book and the Soviet Union Gulag system research that I did on they were

2. The author, Ruta Sepetys s research for this novel, Between Shades of Gray, is accurate and

Analysis Of The Poem Albee
such as amazing and extraordinary, Albee highlights the feelings associated with having sexual
relations with a goat and Martin s satisfaction is clearly conveyed to readers. Also, he suggests that
being with Sylvia made him feel a new and unique way, which illustrates that it is the missing
component to the happiness in his life. Therefore, the goat symbolizes the missing piece in Martin s
life and the inner desires and fantasies in the American Dream. Albee uses the goat as a symbol to
express the American Dream from a unique perspective. The American Dream is often thought to be
the white picket fence life, so when Albee uses the goat to symbolize the American Dream, he
generates entertainment and interest in readers because of it s unusual representation. Also, having the
goat represent inner desires and fantasies appeals to the audience through pathos because of the
humorous idea. Without the use of a goat as symbolism, Albee s argument would not be as strong
because to readers, his play would only appear to be about having sexual relations with a goat. By
using symbols, Albee strengthens his argument because he is able to depict the role of inner desires
and fantasies in the American Dream. Although both authors use symbolism, they differ in how they
suggest money influences the American Dream. Thompson claims that money solves problems. To
support his claim, Thompson uses the strategy of exemplification to express the power of money in
Las Vegas. He uses an

Essay #2 Leibniz s law
TA: Jordan Bell
A Dualist s Point of View: How Mental States are distinct from Physical States The mind and the body
are very controversial entities that has caused philosophical debate between dualists and physicalists.
Common knowledge states that the mind inevitably will affect what the body does. The mind and
body issue is a question of what the nature of the mind is and how it relates to the body. The mind is
the psychological aspect of your being as in your mental state. The body is all physical parts of you:
your height, weight, color. With all this in mind, we can use Leibniz s Law to make an argument
supporting either a physicalist or dualist point of view. I will be ... Show more content on

Physical states are investigated by the sciences and mostly are measurable. Physical properties include
but are not limited to color, shape, weight, smell, and opacity. In the eyes of a dualist these states are
completely different but a physicalist would argue that they are equivalent. The argument that physical
and mental states are in fact distinct and can be made valid is shown through Leibniz s Law also
known as the notion of sameness. To understand Leibniz s Law we must first master identity. This
identity is not in terms of qualitative identity like twins but numerical identity. Numerical identity is
the notion of being the same thing as and that Everything is identical with itself. The structure for
Leibniz s law is if X equals Y then all aspects of X must equal all aspects of Y. Leibniz s Law can be
used to compare physical and mental states depending on if a dualist or a physicalist is making the
argument. The structure for a dualist is as follows: premise 1: mental states have property X, premise
2: physical states lack property X, therefore mental states and physical states are different because one
has while the one lacks a certain property. Here is my argument for a dualist: mental states have the
properties that include emotion, physical states lack emotion. Therefore mental states and physical
states are not the same. In premise one I argue that mental states have properties that include emotion.

Time Series Forecasting And Neural Networks
Abstract
Time series forecasting plays an important role in the academic and practical domains. Many
researchers have studied on this area from several years. There are many models which are used to
improve the accuracy of time series forecasting. In this paper, I have focused on one method i.e.
Neural Networks. In the first section of the report, I will give brief introduction on time series
forecasting and neural networks. In the next part, I will explain this neural method which is used for
forecasting in the literature review. At last, I will conclude the paper. Moreover, the main aim of this
paper is to define the neural network method among the different methods in the time series
forecasting.
Introduction
Time series forecasting is a quantitative model. It means that historical results are gathered to produce
the results to predict the future. This model is used in that situation where no information is available
or provided data is not satisfactory. Time series is a series of experiments which is measured to get
successive results such as, x1, x2, x3.......Xt 2, Xt 1 Xt. These experiments may be done every day,
every hour or every year. It is important to understand the data pattern to achieve the aim that hoe
variables behaved in the past. It has two types of models which are linear and non linear. Moreover,
linear methods are easy to construct and understand. This is used when there are a huge number of
forecasts to be done. Many researchers have done efforts to

Examples Of Everyone Is Equal By Harrison Bergeron
Have you ever thought what the world would be like if everybody was equal. Well in this essay you
will find out why it would be a good idea. Harrison Bergeron is a book about a man named Harrison
who lives in a total equal world where no one is better than anybody. Harrison has escaped prison and
is now on the run where he finds himself on live television and dances with a ballerina then gets shot
by the Handicapper general in front of his family. The short story Harrison Bergeron everybody was
equal because everybody has the same intelligence because of the earpiece they have to wear. The
Next reason that everybody is equal is that everybody that is pretty has to wear masks so nobody is
uglier than anybody else. My last reason that everybody is equal is that everybody weighs the same
due to weights they wear.
My first reason that everybody is equal is that nobody is smarter than anybody else. On page 14
George explains how he has a mental handicap, , had a little mental handicap in his ear. . The next
example I have is on page 15 and the narrator talks about how George was starting to think of
something smart then was stopped with a 21 gun salute. These pieces of evidence tell me that

else, She must have been extraordinarily beautiful, because the mask she wore was hideous. . This
piece of evidence tells me that everybody is equally beautiful and doesn t feel bad about their looks
which puts them at the same level with each other. Now for my next reason why I think that

The Desire for Everlasting Life and Gilgamesh Essay
The desire for everlasting life or immortality has been the first and the oldest quest of mankind. At the
beginning of time, man was designed to live forever. When God created Adam, he created him to
dwell on the earth and to fill it with his offspring s. At no time was he told that this was a temporary
arrangement. He was to live forever unless he ate from one certain tree. If he ate from that tree, then
he would die. We are then left with several questions, if he had not eaten from that tree, would he still
be alive? If he was meant to live forever, was that desire instilled in him? And as his descendants, was
the desire to live forever instilled in each of us as well?
That desire is in all mankind. From the beginning of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I ll establish my name: Gilgamesh, who joined battle with fierce Humbaba (they ll say). An eternal
name I will make for myself. (pgs. 19, 20) But in this respect, he makes the same mistake that Adam
made; he takes something that does not belong to him, Humbaba s life, and because of that, he looses
the life of his best friend, his companion, Enkidu. Not only that, but now he may also have lost the
chance at the one thing he truly desires, immortality. He too angers his gods, and he too is punished
with the loss of Enkidu s life, and perhaps his own as well.
With the death of his dearest friend Enkidu, Gilgamesh now begins to actually fear death and begins
searching for the one man that was made immortal by the gods to ask him how to overcome death. In
Gilgamesh s own words, the death of his friend Enkidu has shaken him to the core. When speaking of
his death he says Enkidu, whom I so loved, who went with me through every hardship. The fate of
mankind has overtaken him. Six days and seven nights I wept for him...I was frightened..I have grown
afraid of death, so I roam the steppe, my friend s case weighs heavy upon me..my friend whom I loved
is turned into clay...Shall I too not lie down like him, and never get up forever and ever? (pg. 78)

Corporal Punishment And Its Usage
Introduction The topic of whether or not parents and teachers should use corporal punishment in the
name of discipline had caught my eye for several reasons. One of the most important reasons is that I
was beaten by a wooden paddle while I was growing up. I was about 12 years of age when my teacher
beats all of my classmates including me just because one of us was misbehaving. That was in
Baghdad, Iraq, where teachers and parents are allowed to use corporal punishment freely without any
fear. Another reason is that I was born in a Catholic well educated family that showed me what love
and respect actually is. Hence, my parents didn t accept what that teacher did and went to tell on her.
They thought that a teacher should never do any kind of physical harm to their children, even if they
used to do so. Therefore, I chose this topic to read more about corporal punishment and its usage in
the United States. The key terms that are important in this paper are defined to give a full
understanding of the issue. The term corporal punishment is defined as the act of disciplining a child
through physical means ( Corporal Punishment , 2006, p.1). However, there is a legal definition that
most states use, which says, Parents are allowed to use reasonable force in physically disciplining their
children ( Corporal Punishment , 2006, p.3). Later on, I will also talk about the effective ways of
disciplining a child that is nonphysical methods. One of them is timeouts which is

Is The Three To-One Blend Of Methylchloro Isothiazolinone
CMIT/MIT: The three to one blend of methylchloro isothiazolinone (CMIT) and
methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is commonly used as a biocide in polymer dispersions. CMIT/MIT is a
broad spectrum biocide that works between 3 9 pH. The mode of action for the CMIT/MIT is that it
reacts with the cell proteins causing the inhibition of respiration and ATP synthesis (PCIMAG).
Isothiazolones first mechanism which is performed in minutes is the swift inhibition of growth and
metabolism. This is then tailed by loss of viability due to irreversible cell damage which happens in a
matter of hours. Inhibition occurs by disrupting the metabolic pathways involving dehydrogenase
enzymes. Microbes are quickly inhibited due to the inhibition of critical physiological functions
including growth, respiration, and energy generation (adenosine triphosphate synthesis). Cell death
results in the destruction of protein thiols and production of free radicals. Compounds such as
surfactants can enhance and speed up the rate of inhibition and death. (Williams, 2007)
The interaction of isothiazolone biocides with microbial cells proceeds via several sequential
reactions. Initially, a biocide molecule reacts with a thiol group to form a disulphide linkage with the
biocide. This structure then interacts with a second thiol group to establish a new disulphide linkage.
Following this, the cell releases the biocide as a mercaptoacrylamide. The mercaptoacrylamide
derivative of CMIT tautomerizes to a thioacyl chloride under physiological conditions. The thioacyl
chloride is highly reactive and proceeds to interact with other cell macromolecules. The ability of
CMIT to degrade to a thioacyl chloride might account for it s much greater antimicrobial activity
when compared to BIT or MIT. (Daniel, 1997)
Barman did a study on the first order rate constant and half life values for the degradation of MIT
(Kathon 886 MW) and a MIT/CMIT (Kathon MWC) Mixture. These consist of 2 methyl 4
isothiazolin 3 one and its chlorinated counterpart, 5 chloro 2 methyl 4 isothiazolin 3 one. At 100 fold
more effective, the chlorinated counterpart is considered to be the active and require concentrations
100 fold less than MIT. In fact, at very low concentrations of just 2 20 ppm

the subject s ideal foot positioning for testing. The platform was then locked, and subjects were told to

testing protocol consisted of a single 20 second test using level 8 resistance provided by the BSS. This
process was then repeated for the opposite limb. Each subject then received a figure of eight, heel lock

The Impact Of Online Shopping
The traditional retail market has been transformed by technological advances. The internet today has
allowed consumers to purchase various products from home ranging from apparel to groceries. The
online shopping market has grown significantly within the past decade, leading to many online e
commerce startups such as Amazon, eBay, and mobile start ups such as Instacart. While e commerce
provides convenience for shopping, it has created major disruption to the traditional shopping
industries. Traditional retailers have since faced bankruptcy due to their inability to compete with such
start ups. The traditional American toy store, Toys R Us, announced its state of bankruptcy just last
month due to a significant decline in sales. More and more consumers are turning to online giants such
as Amazon to purchase daily items as a result of convenience. According to the Washington Post, Toys
R Us is just one of more than 300 retailers to file for bankruptcy this year, as Americans ditch the
shopping mall in favor of their laptops, smartphones, and tablets (Bhattarai, 2017). Shopping which
used to require walking or a vehicle trip to stores is no longer required for consumers with online
shopping. Online shopping has appealed to consumers worldwide by encompassing the business
aspect of service convenience which constitute saving time and/or effort (Jiang, Yang, and Jun, 2012).
For consumers whom have busy lives and those whom are physically disabled, online shopping is a

and assists than Blake. Carl is also a tremendous skater and is much faster than Blake. Unfortunately
for Carl, he is an extremely immature player. Carl has over 50 penalties and he also swears at referees
during the game if the ref makes a bad call he will not be shy about pronouncing his feelings
(Rosengren 139). Carl has an extremely short temper and because of this he gets into lots of fights,
and will punch other players. The most valuable player award is awarded to only one player. The two

Bodily Humor In Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter
Bodily humor is a key element to one s actions, as certain movements or looks can paint a person s
whole picture. While people do not typically find themselves intently observing others in real life, this
is a key element in reading that they sometimes unknowingly are grasping through vivid, or
sometimes even subtle descriptions. In Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, bodily humor is very
important if one wishes to determine the true intentions of the main characters, all of whom are
harboring either their own or someone else s dark secret. One character whose bodily humor must be
keenly observed is Roger Chillingworth, a cunning man who could be represented through the humor
known as choleric. Chillingworth represents the choleric humor throughout ... Show more content on

In figure one of The Persistence of the Four Temperaments , the choleric temper is grouped in with hot
and dry temperature, which in this case is to say fire (Doody and Immerwahr 349). This fits the
choleric definition because it is described as irritable and unpredictable, and that is how one would
describe fire. Fire is also something often used to describe Chillingworth, his eyes being said to have
glimmered with a light burning blue and ominous, like the reflection of a furnace, or, let us say, like
one of those gleams of ghastly fire that darted from Bunyan s awful doorway in the hillside and
quivered on the pilgrim s face (Hawthorne 125). The light in his eyes is described as a blue flame,
which is the hottest flame, and that is enforced with the mention of Bunyan s doorway, which is the
pilgrim version of hell, therefore emphasizing his anger and ill intent. Another instance in which fire is
referenced also includes the idea of fire being transformative, much like Chillingworth s anger
transformed him. Anger consumes Chillingworth much like flames would consume a building, which
is effectively summed up when it says, This unhappy person had effected such a transformation by
devoting himself, for seven years, to the constant analysis of a heart full of torture, and deriving his
enjoyment thence, and adding fuel to those fiery

Analysis Of Alan Mccluskey s The Wasp Habitus
As Alan McCluskey, following Aldrich, argues, usually only white and wealthy and Anglo Saxon
Protestant males were permitted to enter positions of influence and contribute to American high
culture (9). But while WASPish principles would maintain some hold on New England for another
half century, as we saw with Prescott, prestigious institutions began to extend class privileges to those
like Coleman Silk who did not necessarily fit the WASP designation physically, but were sympathetic
to the WASP habitus. As McCluskey continues, Roth s philosophical orientation to the nature of
human identity holds that [identity] is an ineluctably synthetic process that is unstable, contingent, and
ultimately outside the parameters of rigid definition (8). We see as much when, about the time of
Prescott s retirement and death, a young Silk makes the decision to discard his black heritage and live
his life as a white man. While relatively light skinned, however, Silk knows from personal experience
in a Norfolk brothel ( You re a black nigger, ain t you, boy? ) that he will never pass for pure white,
and instead adopts a Jewish identity (114). In the slowly expanding definition of who belongs, Silk
decides to negate the race difference that would exclude him by adopting a religious identity that,
while still marginalised, had increasing access to the upper echelons of New England collegial culture.
As Zuckerman explains, he presents himself as a small nosed Jewish type with the

My Childhood, Freedom, By Daniel H. Pink
In my childhood, freedom was never a choice. Going to school, working with my father and struggling
to live in a crowed home was everyday life for me. My parents were not bad people, though they
failed to give their children autonomy. Throughout the beginning of the fall semester I have been
captivated by the book we have been reading known as Drive, written by Daniel H. Pink. Pink has
revealed a new way of parental education, which maybe a success. Drive is based on motivation and
its complex characteristics. The book slowly reveals the intrinsic and extrinsic personalities of
motivation. Pink introduces Motivation 2.0, and 3.0. Motivation 2.0 is based on extrinsic motivation
and the response to rewards for participation on different aspects of life. Motivation 3.0 is based on
intrinsic motivation and the will to create, learn, and better oneself by accomplishing personal
achievements. These systems of motivation play a major role in life as we know it, yet let us focus on
the importance of Motivation 3.0. The foundation of Motivation 3.0 is constructed of three elements,
which are autonomy, mastery, and purpose. Pink believes that our modern day society is running on
Motivation 2.0, and is convinced that by converting to Motivation 3.0, it can result in a professional
success and generate personal fulfillment. By implementing Motivation 3.0 into parenting, children
will learn the importance of independence, the desires of perfecting a skill, and the purpose of their

The Relationship Between Concussions And The Human Brain
The purpose of this review paper is to learn about the relationship between concussions and the human
brain. This is relevant because if people learn about concussions and are aware of the effects of a
concussion, they may be more careful and avoid activities that could cause concussions.
A concussion is a trauma induced change in mental status, which includes confusion and amnesia, and
may cause someone to lose consciousness for a bit . It happens when the head hits or gets hit by an
object or when the brain is struck against the skull with a strong force to cause temporary loss of
functions. In addition, concussions can cause brain damage. Concussions can be caused from motor

includes not enough sleep, smoking, and stress. Information from previous experiments gives
evidence for the relationship between the independent and dependent variable, since it shows how the
dependent variable is affected by the independent variable. For example, the American Academy of
Neurology has called for a ban on boxing. Boxers repeatedly get concussions over the course months

The Analysis of the West African Ebola Virus Disease Epidemic shines a light on the need for reform in the Global Health System by emphasizing the failures of the government officials and organizations. Unity opens many opportunities for a stronger government as Friedman and Gostin emphasized in their article. Friedman and Gostin argue that the government failed to unity by saying states imposed travel restrictions and quarantines contrary to the demands of WHO and the United Nations (UN), hindering the response of aid and travel, but critics would argue that every state has their own security interest that are seen as safety ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unity between all agencies and governments will allow for everyone s voice to be heard. Group compromise and discussion is possible when all systems are working together for a common goal; such as, overcoming an epidemic. Forming a strong framework requires accountable leaders to work constructively with other organizations as equal partners. When organizations unite, leaders are held responsible for their global practices, motivating action rather than hesitation. Accountable leaders are essential in a strong government because they take action and motivate change. When a government has weak leaders, actions are postponed and hesitation causes delays in funding, education, and volunteers. Civil groups, along with other non governmental organizations, need their opinions heard. Uniting together all forces, not only creates a stronger, trusting bond between countries, but also creates an unstoppable fighting force against epidemics. In the article, Gostin and Friedman acknowledged the contributions a non governmental agency, Médecins Sans Frontiéres, made to help control the raging epidemic. A representative of Médecins Sans Frontiéres said without accountable leaders there is no one to take responsibility which is what he claims to be a major issue in the Ebola crisis (1904). • 5. Mortality And Morality In Hamlet Mortality, Morality and Hamlet Many of the tragedies of William Shakespeare mirror the human experience, if to an inflated scale: love and interfamilial relationships in Romeo and Juliet, power and guilt (or lack thereof) in Julius Caesar, and revenge, death and morality in Hamlet. An important theme within these specific facets of human experience is the idea of suicide, the act of taking one s life. Hamlet is a young and dramatic prince of Denmark whose father has just been murdered and might have an overdeveloped sense of vengeance and existentialism, two flaws which lend themselves kindly to the theme of self slaughter. During the play, Hamlet performs two major soliloquys about his relationship with existence and his own objections, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this monologue, Hamlet reflects on the inevitable suffering of existence and the uncertainty of death. He considers whether it is truly better to be alive than dead when life means to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and to stay alive is to live through the possibility of bad experiences and oppression (III.i.58). Hamlet says that to fight against a sea of troubles of life and luck is to end it, once and for all, and who would bear all the awfulness of life when they have the ability to make it all go away (III.i.59)? According to Hamlet, they who are afraid of the undiscovered country from whose bourn no traveler returns are those who will bear the whips and scorns of time (III.i.70, 79 80). The one who is afraid of death will endure any treatment in life to avoid the uncertainty that awaits many after they die that those people are afraid of. The main point of the to be, or not to be soliloquy is that even when life is inherently full of suffering, people endure because death is unpredictable and they may be afraid of what faces them in the afterlife. Hamlet also believes that this fear makes even the bravest people cowards and not many people would put themselves in the position of uncertainty, even if it means ending ... • 6. Developing A Theory Of Information Science Research Developing a Theory in Information Science Research: A Review of Experts Advice Abstract Despite the growing number of theories within the field of information science, it still remains a difficult task for some emerging scholars in the field to clearly articulate the development of new theories from research studies. This paper reviewed and collated the different views of scholars on what a theory is and how a good theory can be developed. It explains the concept of a theory and the different components that make up a theory. The paper discusses the different processes of theory development by emphasizing what theory is and what theory is not. This review found that scholars differ in their definition of a theory, which led to using terms such as model, paradigm, framework and theory interchangeably. It found the lack of theoretical construct in a study to be one of the factors why articles are rejected for publication. It pointed that producing a paper that contributes to theory rests on the ability of scholars to develop original and new ideas that bring something insightful into scholarship, which can be applied to bring about fresh thinking. This paper may be of benefit to researchers, especially younger academics who are the future of scholarship in the field of information science and other disciplines. Gender, Social, And Social Sciences And Humanities gender role is a theoretical construct in the social sciences and humanities that refers to a set of social and behavioral norms that, within a specific culture, are widely considered to be socially appropriate for individuals of a specific sex. Sex is pretty so concrete, for the most part, unless you are born with some rare genetic sex chromosomal disorder. Gender, it, well can be harder to determine. The greatest thing we notice, when it comes to gender roles, is how much they vary from culture to culture. Since marriage constitutes slavery for women, it is clear that the women s movement must concentrate on attacking this institution. Freedom for women cannot be won without the abolition of marriage. Both modern day heroes, like Bono and Anglo Saxon heroes, like Beowulf, try to improve their societies, but do it in different ways and for different reasons. Some sort of bacteria could sweep through the country killing different food plants. The more important part of the shortage of food however would not be the causes, but the effects. The stance of the country s economy, the well being of middle and lower class families, and the quality of stores that used to sell the products would all decline greatly if an event as severe as an extreme shortage of food were to occur. General stores generate a large profit from the sale of food. Some stores like Whole Foods and King Soopers do not sell much besides food products. If there were to be a severe shortage of food, stores like Whole Foods, Walmart, Costco, and King Soopers would take a severe hit in terms of income and the ability to compete with other stores. Places like these would not be able to keep up financially if there were a lack of people buying their food products. There are other non food products that these stores may sell, but these other products would not be able to sell due to the fact that people would be focusing more on ways to get food rather than buying a new T.V. or a new pair of shoes. Analysis Of The Poem Albee such as amazing and extraordinary, Albee highlights the feelings associated with having sexual relations with a goat and Martin s satisfaction is clearly conveyed to readers. Also, he suggests that being with Sylvia made him feel a new and unique way, which illustrates that it is the missing component to the happiness in his life. Therefore, the goat symbolizes the missing piece in Martin s life and the inner desires and fantasies in the American Dream. Albee uses the goat as a symbol to express the American Dream from a unique perspective. The American Dream is often thought to be the white picket fence life, so when Albee uses the goat to symbolize the American Dream, he generates entertainment and interest in readers because of it s unusual representation. Also, having the goat represent inner desires and fantasies appeals to the audience through pathos because of the humorous idea. Without the use of a goat as symbolism, Albee s argument would not be as strong because to readers, his play would only appear to be about having sexual relations with a goat. By using symbols, Albee strengthens his argument because he is able to depict the role of inner desires and fantasies in the American Dream. Common knowledge states that the mind inevitably will affect what the body does. The mind and body issue is a question of what the nature of the mind is and how it relates to the body. The mind is the psychological aspect of your being as in your mental state. The body is all physical parts of you: your height, weight, color. Physical states are investigated by the sciences and mostly are measurable. Physical properties include but are not limited to color, shape, weight, smell, and opacity. In the eyes of a dualist these states are completely different but a physicalist would argue that they are equivalent. The argument that physical and mental states are in fact distinct and can be made valid is shown through Leibniz s Law also known as the notion of sameness. To understand Leibniz s Law we must first master identity. This identity is not in terms of qualitative identity like twins but numerical identity. Numerical identity is the notion of being the same thing as and that Everything is identical with itself. The structure for Leibniz s law is if X equals Y then all aspects of X must equal all aspects of Y. Leibniz s Law can be used to compare physical and mental states depending on if a dualist or a physicalist is making the argument. The structure for a dualist is as follows: premise 1: mental states have property X, premise 2: physical states lack property X, therefore mental states and physical states are different because one has while the one lacks a certain property. Many researchers have studied on this area from several years. There are many models which are used to improve the accuracy of time series forecasting. In this paper, I have focused on one method i.e. Neural Networks. In the first section of the report, I will give brief introduction on time series forecasting and neural networks. In the next part, I will explain this neural method which is used for forecasting in the literature review. At last, I will conclude the paper. Moreover, the main aim of this paper is to define the neural network method among the different methods in the time series forecasting. Introduction Time series forecasting is a quantitative model. It means that historical results are gathered to produce the results to predict the future. This model is used in that situation where no information is available or provided data is not satisfactory. Time series is a series of experiments which is measured to get successive results such as, x1, x2, x3.......Xt 2, Xt 1 Xt. These experiments may be done every day, every hour or every year. It is important to understand the data pattern to achieve the aim that hoe variables behaved in the past. It has two types of models which are linear and non linear. • 29. Corporal Punishment And Its Usage Introduction The topic of whether or not parents and teachers should use corporal punishment in the name of discipline had caught my eye for several reasons. One of the most important reasons is that I was beaten by a wooden paddle while I was growing up. I was about 12 years of age when my teacher beats all of my classmates including me just because one of us was misbehaving. That was in Baghdad, Iraq, where teachers and parents are allowed to use corporal punishment freely without any fear. Another reason is that I was born in a Catholic well educated family that showed me what love and respect actually is. Hence, my parents didn t accept what that teacher did and went to tell on her. They thought that a teacher should never do any kind of physical harm to their children, even if they used to do so. Therefore, I chose this topic to read more about corporal punishment and its usage in the United States. The key terms that are important in this paper are defined to give a full understanding of the issue. The term corporal punishment is defined as the act of disciplining a child through physical means ( Corporal Punishment , 2006, p.1). However, there is a legal definition that most states use, which says, Parents are allowed to use reasonable force in physically disciplining their children ( Corporal Punishment , 2006, p.3). Is The Three To-One Blend Of Methylchloro Isothiazolinone CMIT/MIT: The three to one blend of methylchloro isothiazolinone (CMIT) and methylisothiazolinone (MIT) is commonly used as a biocide in polymer dispersions. CMIT/MIT is a broad spectrum biocide that works between 3 9 pH. The mode of action for the CMIT/MIT is that it reacts with the cell proteins causing the inhibition of respiration and ATP synthesis (PCIMAG). Isothiazolones first mechanism which is performed in minutes is the swift inhibition of growth and metabolism. This is then tailed by loss of viability due to irreversible cell damage which happens in a matter of hours. Inhibition occurs by disrupting the metabolic pathways involving dehydrogenase enzymes. Microbes are quickly inhibited due to the inhibition of critical physiological functions including growth, respiration, and energy generation (adenosine triphosphate synthesis). Cell death results in the destruction of protein thiols and production of free radicals. Compounds such as surfactants can enhance and speed up the rate of inhibition and death. (Williams, 2007) The interaction of isothiazolone biocides with microbial cells proceeds via several sequential reactions. Initially, a biocide molecule reacts with a thiol group to form a disulphide linkage with the biocide. This structure then interacts with a second thiol group to establish a new disulphide linkage. Following this, the cell releases the biocide as a mercaptoacrylamide. The mercaptoacrylamide derivative of CMIT tautomerizes to a thioacyl chloride under physiological conditions. The thioacyl chloride is highly reactive and proceeds to interact with other cell macromolecules. The ability of CMIT to degrade to a thioacyl chloride might account for it s much greater antimicrobial activity when compared to BIT or MIT. (Daniel, 1997) Barman did a study on the first order rate constant and half life values for the degradation of MIT (Kathon 886 MW) and a MIT/CMIT (Kathon MWC) Mixture. These consist of 2 methyl 4 isothiazolin 3 one and its chlorinated counterpart, 5 chloro 2 methyl 4 isothiazolin 3 one. At 100 fold more effective, the chlorinated counterpart is considered to be the active and require concentrations 100 fold less than MIT. In fact, at very low concentrations of just 2 20 ppm ... The Importance Of Medical Research Experiments Four healthy subjects (3 males, 1 female, age = 21 ± 2 years; weight = 85.5 ± 35.5kg; height = 173.5 ± 10.5 cm; weekly physical activity = 7 ± 2 hours) with no prior lower extremity injuries volunteered, and gave informed consent to participate in the study. An experimental, longitudinal study approach was taken with no control group applied, where subjects knew the intention of the study. Pre and post measurements were taken for analysis. Prior to conducting the study all of the subjects had to complete a medical history assessment questionnaire, and reported to the research laboratory where they were measured in the following categories to obtain anthropometrical data; Mass, height, and age. Once the subject had completed the warm up session, they were then instructed to stand on the Biodex Balance System (BSS) (Biodex, Shirley, New York, USA), using the leg that they would use to kick a football with. (All of the subjects were dominant using their right foot). They were allowed to flex their dominant knee up to 10° to ensure that the talo crural joint was mainly targeted during testing. They were also required to maintain an upright posture, and to maintain a comfortable knee angle with the unsupported leg. If the subject were to touch the support railings during the assessment, it would invalidate the results and have to be repeated. Once in position, the platform was unlocked allowing for movement. The subjects were then instructed to adjust their dominant foot s position until they found the position at which they were at the most comfortable and stable. This was done to establish the subject s ideal foot positioning for testing. The platform was then locked, and subjects were told to maintain their foot position. This position was used for testing, and recorded by investigators. The testing protocol consisted of a single 20 second test using level 8 resistance provided by the BSS. This process was then repeated for the opposite limb. Each subject then received a figure of eight, heel lock strapping to their dominant foot using Zinc Oxide and Elastic Adhesive Bandage (EAB) and were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Impact Of Online Shopping The traditional retail market has been transformed by technological advances. The internet today has allowed consumers to purchase various products from home ranging from apparel to groceries. The online shopping market has grown significantly within the past decade, leading to many online e commerce startups such as Amazon, eBay, and mobile start ups such as Instacart. While e commerce provides convenience for shopping, it has created major disruption to the traditional shopping industries. Traditional retailers have since faced bankruptcy due to their inability to compete with such start ups. The traditional American toy store, Toys R Us, announced its state of bankruptcy just last month due to a significant decline in sales. More and more consumers are turning to online giants such as Amazon to purchase daily items as a result of convenience. According to the Washington Post, Toys R Us is just one of more than 300 retailers to file for bankruptcy this year, as Americans ditch the shopping mall in favor of their laptops, smartphones, and tablets (Bhattarai, 2017). Shopping which used to require walking or a vehicle trip to stores is no longer required for consumers with online shopping. Online shopping has appealed to consumers worldwide by encompassing the business aspect of service convenience which constitute saving time and/or effort (Jiang, Yang, and Jun, 2012). Carl is also a tremendous skater and is much faster than Blake. Unfortunately for Carl, he is an extremely immature player. Carl has over 50 penalties and he also swears at referees during the game if the ref makes a bad call he will not be shy about pronouncing his feelings (Rosengren 139). • 34. Bodily Humor In Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter Bodily humor is a key element to one s actions, as certain movements or looks can paint a person s whole picture. While people do not typically find themselves intently observing others in real life, this is a key element in reading that they sometimes unknowingly are grasping through vivid, or sometimes even subtle descriptions. In Hawthorne s The Scarlet Letter, bodily humor is very important if one wishes to determine the true intentions of the main characters, all of whom are harboring either their own or someone else s dark secret. One character whose bodily humor must be keenly observed is Roger Chillingworth, a cunning man who could be represented through the humor known as choleric. In figure one of The Persistence of the Four Temperaments , the choleric temper is grouped in with hot and dry temperature, which in this case is to say fire (Doody and Immerwahr 349). This fits the choleric definition because it is described as irritable and unpredictable, and that is how one would describe fire. Fire is also something often used to describe Chillingworth, his eyes being said to have glimmered with a light burning blue and ominous, like the reflection of a furnace, or, let us say, like one of those gleams of ghastly fire that darted from Bunyan s awful doorway in the hillside and quivered on the pilgrim s face (Hawthorne 125). The light in his eyes is described as a blue flame, which is the hottest flame, and that is enforced with the mention of Bunyan s doorway, which is the pilgrim version of hell, therefore emphasizing his anger and ill intent. Another instance in which fire is referenced also includes the idea of fire being transformative, much like Chillingworth s anger transformed him. Anger consumes Chillingworth much like flames would consume a building, which is effectively summed up when it says, This unhappy person had effected such a transformation by devoting himself, for seven years, to the constant analysis of a heart full of torture, and deriving his enjoyment thence, and adding fuel to those fiery ... • 35. Analysis Of Alan Mccluskey s The Wasp Habitus As Alan McCluskey, following Aldrich, argues, usually only white and wealthy and Anglo Saxon Protestant males were permitted to enter positions of influence and contribute to American high culture (9). But while WASPish principles would maintain some hold on New England for another half century, as we saw with Prescott, prestigious institutions began to extend class privileges to those like Coleman Silk who did not necessarily fit the WASP designation physically, but were sympathetic to the WASP habitus. As McCluskey continues, Roth s philosophical orientation to the nature of human identity holds that [identity] is an ineluctably synthetic process that is unstable, contingent, and ultimately outside the parameters of rigid definition (8). We see as much when, about the time of Prescott s retirement and death, a young Silk makes the decision to discard his black heritage and live his life as a white man. While relatively light skinned, however, Silk knows from personal experience in a Norfolk brothel ( You re a black nigger, ain t you, boy? ) that he will never pass for pure white, and instead adopts a Jewish identity (114). In the slowly expanding definition of who belongs, Silk decides to negate the race difference that would exclude him by adopting a religious identity that, while still marginalised, had increasing access to the upper echelons of New England collegial culture. As Zuckerman explains, he presents himself as a small nosed Jewish type with the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. My Childhood, Freedom, By Daniel H. Pink In my childhood, freedom was never a choice. Going to school, working with my father and struggling to live in a crowed home was everyday life for me. My parents were not bad people, though they failed to give their children autonomy. Throughout the beginning of the fall semester I have been captivated by the book we have been reading known as Drive, written by Daniel H. Pink. Pink has revealed a new way of parental education, which maybe a success. Drive is based on motivation and its complex characteristics. The book slowly reveals the intrinsic and extrinsic personalities of motivation. Pink introduces Motivation 2.0, and 3.0. Motivation 2.0 is based on extrinsic motivation and the response to rewards for participation on different aspects of life. Motivation 3.0 is based on intrinsic motivation and the will to create, learn, and better oneself by accomplishing personal achievements. These systems of motivation play a major role in life as we know it, yet let us focus on the importance of Motivation 3.0. The foundation of Motivation 3.0 is constructed of three elements, which are autonomy, mastery, and purpose. Pink believes that our modern day society is running on Motivation 2.0, and is convinced that by converting to Motivation 3.0, it can result in a professional success and generate personal fulfillment. By implementing Motivation 3.0 into parenting, children will learn the importance of independence, the desires of perfecting a skill, and the purpose of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is relevant because if people learn about concussions and are aware of the effects of a concussion, they may be more careful and avoid activities that could cause concussions. A concussion is a trauma induced change in mental status, which includes confusion and amnesia, and may cause someone to lose consciousness for a bit . It happens when the head hits or gets hit by an object or when the brain is struck against the skull with a strong force to cause temporary loss of functions. In addition, concussions can cause brain damage. Concussions can be caused from motor vehicle accidents or from playing sports like football. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Information from previous experiments gives evidence for the relationship between the independent and dependent variable, since it shows how the dependent variable is affected by the independent variable. For example, the American Academy of Neurology has called for a ban on boxing. Boxers repeatedly get concussions over the course months or years, which can lead to increasing head injury.
