The right to doctor assisted suicide is a very controversial topic throughout the world. Some believe
that it is morally incorrect, whereas others feel empathy for the suffering who wish to put an end to the
pain. Without a doubt, patients should have the right to put an end to life when suffering or when
death is imminent. With the help of doctor assisted suicide, healthcare implications are lessened, the
burden on families is relieved and patients suffering can come to an end. These are some of the
reasons why doctor assisted suicide needs be legalized in all parts of the world.

Allowing terminally ill, patients facing imminent death and people in excruciating pain the right to
end life relieves the suffering and pain they are experiencing. These people with incurable diseases
and conditions do not want to live the last days of life in a hospital room in immense pain, attached to
tubes and machines that are the difference between life and death. Many people do not understand the
perspective from a patient s point of view unless, they are in this situation, in the unbearable pain that
makes each day painful. This was the case for Brittany Maynard, a twenty nine year old woman who
was diagnosed with glioblastoma. She was told that she only had six months to live because of her
terrible tumor, there is no cure for her disease and she new she would die. The best option for her
situation seemed to be assisted suicide. Brittany and her husband moved to Oregon, which is one of
the few states that has legalized assisted suicide in order to pursue her wish of ending her life.
According to Brittany I ve discussed with many experts how I would die from it and it s a terrible,
terrible way to die. So being able to choose to go with dignity is less terrifying. Being able to have a
choice and dignity does not make patients weak and does not mean that they are giving up, it simply
means they do not want to remember life to be painful and have their family members have this as
their last

Examples Of Rebirth In Phoenix Jackson
How Phoenix Jackson Represents Rebirth and Immortality When reading the colorful story Worn Path
by Eudora Welty, her many descriptions bringing life to what would have been a desolated America
during the Great Depression. Phoenix Jackson, main character, herself even becoming something to
examine and study, as well as the characters and environment she encounters. Phoenix Jackson
embarks on a journey to retrieve medicine for her sick grandson. Phoenix Jackson is described first as
old African American woman. When given her description of herself (outfit and features), personality,
and her many struggles to retrieve medicine, can been seen as rebirth or immortality, as well as
describing America and it s future after depression. Phoenix Jackson s body, that is described, and her
ethnicity are worth studying. At this time in history, the nineteen thirties, being a woman and African
American were both downsides to what would have been desired: Caucasian and male. Phoenix
Jackson s skin tone is also described very differently as well, with patches of multi skin tone with blue
rage eyes (288). At first it is another noteworthy description, but when view deeper it could represent
multiple things. Like many rebirthing that of a phoenix (mythical bird, that rebirth in a fireball, and
reborns from their ashes) goes through, signifying her treacherous journey and obstacles overcome. It
also can be used to show the diversity of not just her, but of America, where everyone old, sick, poor,
no matter of race suffering all together. Phoenix Jackson wrinkles on her face, described as a tree
roots, where tree sported in the middle of her face. Then even goes as far as telling us that gold
underlining around her wrinkles and forehead, a color commonly associated with phoenix colors
(usually represented as gold and red). Which explains her red rag that she wears around her head. Like
that of a phoenix, she herself is draped like one. From Phoenix s scalp to her golden wrinkles. The
personality of Phoenix Jackson is that as one of a mad hatter. Perfectly sane when things are in her
sight, but with a vivid imagination many things come to life. The scarecrow, that she saw as a flapping

Measure Success In Relation To An American Society
How do we measure success in relation to an American society? , The answer isn t really definitive. I
would say that the meaning of success varies depending on who you ask. To some, success can simply
mean, being the best at something. To others, success is measured on some sort of accomplishment
(for example: getting honours in school or receiving a promotion). Everyday, we search through the
web and news stations, looking to see who made it and set our goals to either meet or go farther than
them. We praise those who are successful and usually disregard those who aren t. Our parents always
want the best for us; they want us to one day be on covers of magazines and news articles to show
others how great their children are. Some parents

How Did Ben Chifley Influence The Labour Movement
I try to think of the Labour movement, not as putting an extra sixpence into somebody s pocket, or
making somebody Prime Minister or Premier, but as a movement bringing something better to the
people, better standards of living, greater happiness to the mass of the people. We have a great
objective the light on the hill which we aim to reach by working for the betterment of mankind not
only here but anywhere we may give a helping hand.
This is but a short excerpt of Ben Chifley s famous Light on the Hill speech in 1949, but it shows the
extent of his political aptitude and beliefs as a true believer in the Labour movement. He is best
recognised for his leadership in the Keynesian, interventionalist reconstruction of the Australian
economy following the Second World War and also his tenure as the architect of the Australian
welfare state since 1945. As such, it is highly evident Ben Chifley had a substantial impact on the post

Role Of Theater In The Renaissance
Theaters of the Renaissance Theaters and Drama have been around for quite sometime. The
production of these play have changed over the years. The theaters in the Renaissance helped to shape
the way of theaters to how we know them today. Theaters like The Globe,The Swan, The Rose and
The Curtin. These were a few of the main theaters at the time. The role that these theaters played was
very important and influential to the culture of theaters in today s society. In England there were pretty
much two different kinds of buildings. There were outside playhouses which were used for things like
bear baiting. And Inns, which are basically inside theaters. Eventually these turned into public and
private theaters. Public theaters were mostly found in the suburbs. Public theaters were The Rose, The
Globe, The Curtain, and The Theater. People could get into a public theater for as little as one cent, but
they had to stand on the ground, they were called groundlings. Public theaters typical held about 3,000
people. Private theatres were located in the City of London. Private theaters held around 700 people at
a time. Private theaters included Saint Paul s Cathedrals and The Blackfriars. The Theater became the
first permanent theater in 1576. The Theater was built by a man named James Burbage. James

Argumentative Essay On Gay Rights
The bible is a collection of accounts, the first of these were compiled over 3500 years ago and the full
bible was first compiled around 1900 years ago. So can this book which was written in an age with
crucifixion and inequality be applicable to a society now driven by phones and jet flights? It is a
comfort to many an enemy to others but can it help untangle the mystery of modern life and help you
find a deeper meaning and purpose for the things you do on earth. This is the question that i m going
to be giving my opinion on in this piece.
Gay rights is something that many in the twenty first century have strived to achieve for people.
However written in the bible (NIV, 1st corinthians 6:9 11) Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters
nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor
slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. this was written by paul one of jesus s
apostles who had been taught by jesus himself. This quote from the bible shows that society has
changed a lot since the writing of the bible and some of the views expressed in the bible are no longer
applicable to modern life.
The core morals that are in the bible are still applicable today even more today than maybe be before
as there is growing social unrest , crime is increasing and the wage gap is increasing. One of the main
rules spoken by jesus himself is love your enemies , bless them that curse you, do good to them that
hate you, and pray

So you have fifty free spins at your disposal and you feel on top of the world, but you need to think
smart, as you don t want to go in all gung ho and waste them unnecessarily. Fifty is a lot, so you need
to know which game is going to get you the best return on your spins. The first way we could look at
it is based on stats; the slot game that gives out the most money would be the logical game to go for
first right? Well it is actually a little more complicated that, as there are plenty of other things that you
need to consider.
After figuring out the top paying games, let s look at the companies who have lost the most money to

following will take you through the top three slot games in 2015, so you can get a feel for the games
that seem to give gamblers the highest amount of turnover.
Thunderstruck 2
The highest ranked slot game, boasting big wins on many occasions. The biggest win in 2015 came
from a player named Masis S , who won over $850,000 on the game. In fact that was the player s
fourth win in eight days on all slots. Proof that it does pay to be persistent.
Thunderstruck
This is the second highest ranked game and is known for delivering big wins with the highest winner
receiving an impressive $758,000. With figures like that in its back catalogue, there is no denying the
appeal of the original Thunderstruck title.
Burning Desire
This game boasts the highest single money payout of all three games, with a staggering $949,000
payout occurring last year. The figure is more than any other game during such time frame (excluding
progressive slots), however the stats say that you have less of chance of winning at Burning Desire
than the other two titles on this list.
Many other games have big payouts and frequent wins, but the aforementioned three most are the
most successful titles of the moment. Slot machines obviously work on a system and some would say
they work in favour of the online casinos. However, if you bet smart with your free spin

Time Management
There is old proverb, Procrastination is the thief of time. And in the classroom, one of the teacher
biggest challenge is managing time yours and the learners. Effective strategies for assisting learners
manage their time begin immediately as they entered the classroom. Incorporating a daily review and,
or warm up activity at the beginning of a class period. This minimize the hectic and stressful first few
minutes of a new period, day to day as learners arrive at their schoolroom they take a sheet of paper
from a distinctly identified container and instantaneously begin to work responding to the query
presented on the chalkboard, regarding the preceding tutorial. Accordingly, teaching the learners to
enter, and straightaway start on the One Question Examination, since they have limited minutes to
complete the assignment before their responses are accumulate and examined. (Hughes, n.d)
During independent seatwork, encourage self monitoring through requesting the learners to register
their beginning period on their document. Once the composition time is finished, request the learner to
register the time once more, irrespective of the amount of the assignment they completed. This
certification is valuable in regards to exactly how well the learner can remain on task and function
constructively.

Persuasive Essay On Portugal
Since 2001, Portugal has prioritized harm reduction in drug abuse and have treated addiction as a
health issues instead of a crime issue. Many believe that this policy has reduced drug addiction, but
others feel that it has encouraged the use of illegal drugs. I believe that Portugal is taking the wrong
stance against drugs and should be viewing them in a criminal manner. This policy can be supported
in historical context via the burning of opium by the Chinese government and by the use of
methamphetamine by German soldiers in World War II. The Chinese government was struggling to

Their ignorance as a government in the 1730 s led them to take extreme steps to stop the illegal trade
by burning the British opium and trying to destroy the British ships in the 1830 s. China s justification
for allowing opium to be legal in 1729 can be viewed as the root of the opium wars. The
unprecedented casualties of World War I brought the need for treatment of acute and chronic pain.
This inspired the Weimar and Nazi governments to adopt an attitude of tolerance toward the use of
drugs to relieve pain, increase performance, and avoid withdrawal. Most drugs were permitted either
universally or for individuals with a medical prescription. Thus, Drug use in the German military
during World War II was actively encouraged and widespread, especially during the war s later stages
as their military became depleted and increasingly dependent on youth as opposed to experience. The
German army ordered soldiers to take military issue pills made from methamphetamine. The aftermath

Thus, as public figures play a role as representatives of the society, they should be accountable for
their actions, even those undertaken in private, as it is only fair to the public, whom they represent.
Even though it is often argued that there is no need for public figures to account for their private

not only create a lasting impact on the society, but also when it breaks the law. Performance at work

The Theory Of Algebraic Semi Rings
ON BORNOLOGICAL SEMI RINGS
ANWAR N. IMRAN
Abstract. Our main focus in this work is to generalizes the theory of algebraic semi ring from the
algebraic setting to the framework of bornological set. More specifically, the concept of new structure
bornological semi ring BSR is introduced and the fundamental constructions in the class of
bornological semi rings are discussed. In particular, the existence of arbitrary projective limits and
arbitrary inductive limits of bornological semi ring is ensured. Additionally, the description of the
category of bornological semi rings is presented and we study the product, coproduct and fiber
product. Key words: Bornological Set, Bornological Ring.
1. Introduction
The notion of a bounded subset of (real or complex) topological vector space was introduces by von
Neamann. That motivated the definition and more general classes bounded sets and called
bornologies. A bornological space is a type of space in functional analysis and it is very useful to solve
problem of boundedness for set of elements and functions. That means, the main goal for bornology is
to determine the boundedness, location and sitting the boundary for any area. A bornology on a set X
is a family β of subsets of X, such that;
Every singleton set fxg is in β, that means, β covering X ;
If A ⊂ B, B 2 β then A 2 β;
β is stable under finite union.
The elements of β are called bounded subsets of X. Let X and Y be two bornological sets, a map f : X

The Darkness written by Lord Byron introduces the story by stating I had a dream which was not all a

Eating Disorders
According to The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) website, eating disorders are actually
serious and often fatal illnesses causing serve disturbances to a person s eating behaviors. People with
eating disorders often have obsessions with food, their body weight, and their shape. There is,
however, a difference between an eating disorder and a diet. It is important to know the difference.
Eating disorders are a daily struggle for 10 million females and 1 million males in the United States
(Eating Disorder Hope). An eating disorder is a compulsion to avoid eating in order to lose weight

it can resort in organ damage and sometimes even death.
The average that someone develops anorexia is 19 years old (NIMH), but that does not mean a person
can only be 19 in order to develop an eating disorder. The NIMH has reported cases of eating

How The World Has Changed Over Time Essay
While interviewing an individual from another generation, my father, I learned a lot about how the
world has changed over the past years. Many things such as events that had happened during their

have come about in the past 60 years. The views in working, education, role models, and life changing
moments have all changed over time. While interviewing my father I had many interesting statistics
come up that I have never even thought about or questioned. My father was born in 1955, making him

During the 9th grade, my father dropped out of school to begin his work in the field of construction.

Trip Before The First Year Of My College
I have always looked forward to traveling to London. This is because of the exciting stories I heard

historical places. I planned and decided to take the trip before the first year of my college. I have not

2014. Before traveling, I bought the travel card via online. I ensured I had paid for my return ticket.
This timing turned out to be perfect because my cousin who resides in London invited me to his place,
it was an opportunity for me to spend my vacation with him in London. I ensured that I had sufficient
cash. After confirming my reservation, I had a mixed feeling of travelling alone. On getting into the

myself that I can make it down to London without any problem. The plane ride was fun and I arrived
to my desired city on a Monday, collected my luggage from the claiming point at Heathrow. My
cousin waited patiently to welcome me, as soon as I saw him my heart was filled with joy that I finally
made it alone to London. My cousin rushed and hugged me, took my luggage and we headed to the

American literature greatly flourished in the nineteenth century through remarkable works of

Water Is An Essential Aspect Of Life
Everyday humans and animals all across the world consume large amounts of water to keep their
bodily systems functioning. While water is an essential aspect of life it can also be dangerous as most
water will never be 100% pure, as such water will contain what is known as contaminants. There are
many forms of contaminants ranging from microorganisms to chemicals. These contaminants have the
ability to cause serious health issues depending of the amount consumed. This has serious effect on
third world countries such as those within Africa. As the populations of countries increase more water
is needed but less safe supplies are present. This has required new ways of supplying water beyond
what was previously necessary. As such methods of purification have become necessary for creating
enough safe water to drink, however some of these methods have serious drawbacks which need to be
considered. Water is a fundamental aspect of human life and as such it is essential that safe sources of
water be created to supply the ever growing population of the world. Contaminants There are many
types of contaminants which will contaminate water supplies. These include: microorganisms,
chemicals (specifically heavy metals), radionuclides and some disinfectants and their byproducts.
Microorganisms are present in all fresh water supplies, including: bacteria, algae and protozoa. Some
microorganisms are completely harmless while some microorganisms can cause diseases in humans.

The Absurd Geniuses Of All Time
Samuel Beckett, regarded as one of the best Theater of the Absurd geniuses of all time, is an Irish
playwright and director of the avant garde. Living in Paris France for the majority of his life, he wrote
in both English and French. Using bleak and hopeless themes, his works depict a harsh attack on
realism and challenge the very meaning of life. Beckett s works opened the world of theater to many
interesting possibilities in drama and fiction. He introduced to theater and novel the idea that the
existence of human life is absurd, an idea that is prominent in his writings. Born and raised in Ireland,
he excelled in his education at Dublin University and Campbell College before moving to Paris in
1928. Here he was introduced to the profound Irish author, James Joyce, who is regarded as one of the
most influential and important authors of the 20th century. Beckett and Joyce assisted in each other s
writings, including the book, Finnegans Wake (1939). Finnegans Wake shows some of Beckett s
darkness with its themes of sin interpreted in a dreamlike state. This book also inspired Beckett s more
comedic approach to the dark and depressing themes in most of his works. Assumption (1929), written
by Beckett, was his first of many stories. Consisting of various themes of human nature and Irish
folklore, this story was the first of many that could be considered as difficult to understand or just
gibberish, due to its syntax being strained to incomprehensibility. The story contains

Partners In Health Mission John Locke Summary
In the short piece, Partners in Health Mission, it explains the goal of this company which is to overall
help the people suffering with poverty by giving these people healthcare. This statement uses the ideas
of equality and preservation of life by trying to give people embellished with poverty the ability to be
health like the rest of the world. This company s goals and values mainly line up with the ideals and
philosophies of enlightenment philosopher John Locke. This is due to the idea of preserving life
because it is a humans natural right to live and is sense of equality in which everyone receives equal
healthcare treatment. Ultimately, this piece uses the ideals and philosophies of John Locke in the
modern day to try to preserve life and create a sense of equality among people. Is a health care the

and is luxury for the middle case? This question has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sadly, their has never been a correct answer to this question, but according to the ideals of Locke,
healthcare should be an individuals right because every human has the right to live, breathe, obtain
property and happiness, and finally be healthy. Locke stated, The natural right of all man is, life,
liberty, and property. This was later adapted into the because of the right that every person can live,
healthcare should be considered a right. This is mainly focused on the idea that because healthcare
healths and betters a person s right to live it should be considered a right of the people and not a
privilege. This ultimately illustrates the idea that healthcare is right, due to it being a sense of well
being and security that if a person gets sick or contracts a horrific disease, this person can seek help

Benefits Of Eating Healthy Diet Essay
It is often hard for me to maintain a healthy diet. Although I have took several classes that outline the
benefits of eating healthy, I often find myself setting a healthy eating goal and relapsing the next day.
My goals first consisted of me getting a balanced diet for three months. This goal began to fail after
two days. I had visited family members during the thanksgiving holiday and ate several unhealthy
foods. I then set a small goal of consuming only healthy foods for a week. I wrote down the foods I
would eat each day, within that week, and their proportion size. This goal last for three days, and
failed due to financial issues. Foods that were easy to prepare became my best friend. However, when
I became pregnant, I began to gain excuses weight. My doctor informed on the importance it was to
eat a balanced diet. He also taught me the effects unhealthy foods could have on the baby, as well as
me while being pregnant. Eating healthy then became a struggle, due to me having a loss of appetite.
Now that I am not pregnant anymore, and have gained my appetite back, it was not evident to me the
different foods and calories I consume in a day. Completing a dietary analysis has allowed me to gain
insight on the foods I eat, my normal calorie intake, and the amount of calories recommended. For 24
hours, I wrote down everything I consumed. This included meals, drinks, condiments, and snacks. I
began my day by eating 1 pack of Quaker corn grits with cheese, two sausage links, a

Fit Man Cook s Quesadilla
I, J.L., must confess that I have become a full fledged foodie. I mean, when you re subscribed to
numerous YouTube channels and have a folder with bookmarked recipes it s time to admit the fact.
And what better way to celebrate it then with a recipe.
The recipe was inspired from Fit Man Cook s quesadilla. I decided to take it one step further and add
spinach and black olives with tzatziki sauce on the side.
I will freely admit I m not a chef and I had to estimate how much of each ingredient I put in my

asked my friends from class if they knew what they would write about and they all yes. This made me
more nervous because if it was easy for them to have ideas to write about then it should be easy for me

Primary Insomnia Essay
Primary insomnia
Primary insomnia is estimated to affect 6% of the population (Roth S7 S10).In primary insomnia
patients have difficulty to either fall asleep, stay asleep, or both. As a result, they may feel dissatisfied
with their sleep and may not feel refreshed when they wake up. Consequently, insomnia will directly
be detrimental to performance of daily task, such as the problems with learning, remembering,
daytime fatigue, irritability, and negative feelings of wellbeing.
Primary insomnia is a particular type of insomnia. In general, insomnia can be transient, acute, or
chronic, based on the duration of the symptoms. They range from a few days for transient insomnia to
months or even longer for chronic insomnia. Chronic insomnia being most severe can be further
separated into primary or secondary insomnia. Whereas secondary insomnia is viewed as a symptom
of another illness, primary insomnia is not due to presently identified psychiatric disorders, medical
circumstances, and substance use disorders (Kayukawa et al 1494 1500). Therefore primary insomnia
is considered an illness itself with unclear etiology.
Factors (causes)
Typically primary insomnia is brought on by excessive amount of stress and anxiety. The definite
causes aren t known, but these psychological factors can play a role in the development of sleep
problems. Research shows that the problem initiates as a biological reaction(HPA) to a stressful events

Preventing Terrorism through Providing Nuclear Security
The Department of Homeland Security was initiated as a result of the worst terrorist attack in United
States history, September 11th, 2001, with the purpose of providing protection for the American
people from a wide variety of terrorist threats. On March 24th and 25th, 2014, President Barack

Nuclear Forensics and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office
Nuclear forensics is one of the two key elements of nuclear security. Nuclear forensics is the analysis
of seized contraband nuclear or radioactive material and any corresponding material in order to
provide evidence that will assist in identifying the source of the nuclear or radioactive material and
determine its point of origin (International Atomic Energy Agency, 2006). Nuclear forensics also
covers the use of the information gathered by the original analysis to determine the routes of transit
and any corresponding equipment. The process of nuclear forensics and evidence gathered can
ultimately to be instrumental in the prosecution of all those responsible (International Atomic Energy
Agency, 2006).
Domestic Nuclear Detection Office is the primary entity for nuclear detection in America. Detection is
another of the key elements the Department of Homeland Security focuses on improving constantly,
through the use of its Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, in order to continue to strive towards
fending off terrorist attacks, and providing protection for the American people as well as assist in the
international effort to enhance global nuclear security (Department of Homeland Security 2, 2016).

Essay On Mercury Pollution
Mercury pollution occurs from industrial sources such as mining, power plants and coal combustion
centers. When mercury is released from the sources, it can travel halfway around the world before it
ever enters into the waterways and contaminates the fish that we then eat. Through the trade of those
fish, people in every continent are at risk for mercury pollution. Newborns are also at risk of mercury
pollution due to the consummation of fish by their mothers, thousands of babies are at risk every year
of impaired motor skills ( Reduce Mercury Pollution ). In order to reduce the pollutants of mercury we
need to implement a policy to clean up sites already contaminated, limit the amounts discharged into
the water and provide consumers on tips to reduce their exposure to it. My first step in decreasing the
amount of mercury is to focus on the areas that are already contaminated. They would priority since
the mercury would have had time to sit and settle and we would want to clean it up before it causes
further harm. Some of the sites would be cleaned up under the EPA s superfund policy. One example
of a site that is being cleaned up is the Carson River Mercury Site in Nevada. This is the former sites
of mills and mining that have contaminated the soil, waterways and fish over a 50 mile stretch.
Nevada at one time recommended that limited consumption of fish and duck from the river should be
in effect. State and federal actions are being performed in order to excavate and remove the
contaminated soils and they were sent to a mineral resource recovery facility. That action has already
reduced the amount of exposure during the monitoring period and they plan to add a layer of clean
topsoil to reduce the exposure to any mercury soil left behind. They have also worked in sampling 26
different developments for mercury affects and levels. They are working on figuring out the cost and
benefit of cleaning up the rivers sediment to try to remove the mercury from the river, wetlands and
reservoir. In the meantime short term cleanup will be done in order to prevent threats to the
population( Carson River Mercury Site ). The second step in my policy to reduce the mercury levels
would be to limit the amount of discharge

Analysis Of The Play Everyman

morality. The play is meant to look at moral lessons and is written about a person, no one even knows
his name, who is standing for all men and looks at the journey of his life. This play has a lot of
different characters that come and go out of Everyman s life. Characters that he wants to go on his
journey, but they are not able to go. This play offers some humor as well, which may hard to tell when
reading it. One of them is when Everyman tries to make a deal with the Devil for his life, which does
not turn out well. Everyman has been compared to different plays including Mankind and Youth.
(Tanner 1991). Both plays also deal with the journey of life from youths to their death. It has also been
compared to Pilgrim s Progress , which is a novel, that looks at humanity and religion and how the
death of Jesus can wash their sins away. (Adu Gyamfi and Schmidt 2011, 265). Everyman also has a
similar theme with Dance of Death , which looks at the black death and plaques in England and
France in the fourteenth and fifteenth century (Moran 1972, 324). This of course was a very hard
death and was used for retribution of sins. Everyman was not like that at all.
The play starts with the messenger coming and telling us what to look for in our lives and not commit
any sins, so in the end God will be there. Then God comes in and speaks. He is telling us that

The number 3.14 has no ending just as Pi s soul will continue to live on until the end. At one point in
the novel, when Pi has physically and mentally broken down, Pi convinces himself that this was the

Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells
EXERCISE 1C: Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells
Introduction: Water potential was defined above as an expression of the tendency of water to diffuse
from one region to another. Water potential is a numerical value that must be determined for a given
temperature and pressure. In this exercise you will determine the water potential of potato cells at
room temperature and ambient pressure by placing cores of potato tissue in sucrose solutions of
different concentrations and measuring the net movement of water in each case. In animal cells,
movement of H2O into and out of a cell is influenced by the relative concentration of solute on either
side of the cell membrane. If water moves out of the cell, the cell will shrink or ... Show more content

We will assume, for purposes of explanation, that the solute is not diffusing (Figure 1 .2a). The
movement of water into the cell causes the cell to swell, and the cell membrane pushes against the cell
wall to produce an increase in pressure (turgor).
Figure 1.2a
Before
Pure Water
(p= 0; ((= 0; ( = 0
(p= 0; ((= 3; ( = 3
Figure 1.2b
After
Pure Water
(p= 0; ((= 0; ( = 0
(p= +3; ((= 3; ( = 0
As water continues to diffuse into the cell, the rising positive turgor pressure begins to cancel out the
negative osmotic potential of the cell. This process will continue until the positive turgor pressure is so
large it completely cancels the negative osmotic potential, and the water potential of the cell = 0 = ( of
pure water. At this point, a dynamic equilibrium is reached, and net water movement will cease
(Figure 1.2b). Now imagine starting over with a fresh piece of potato in a beaker of distilled water.
The potato has a water potential of 2.3 bars, as in the above example. If you add solute to the water
outside the potato cells, the water potential of the solution surrounding the cells will decrease. It is
possible to add just enough solute to the water so that the water potential outside the cell is the same
as the water

Positive Behavioral Intervention In Schools
It is exceedingly important for schools to ensure a balanced and stable environment that provides
safety, well being, and acceptance to all students. In order to do this, as well as generate a positive

Examples Of Heroism In The Book Of Exodus
The Book of Exodus is the story of the Israelite s escape from slavery through the leadership of Moses
and power of God. Moses demonstrates numerous heroic characteristics throughout the Book of
Exodus as he leads the Israelites to freedom. As defined by Professor of Classics at Rutgers University
Lowell Edmunds, a hero is a man, often of divine ancestry, [and] favored by the gods. In addition,
Edmunds continues the definition of a hero as one who is endowed with great courage and
strength...especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life. Under this definition, we can draw
significant parallels between Moses s life and a traditional hero s life. God chooses and favors Moses;
he is born into a divine line, and also granted great powers to aid him in his journey. In addition, he
uses his God given strength to lead and protect the Israelites. Lastly, Moses sacrifices his life to fulfill
his heroic responsibility, despite his original hesitations. These aspects of Moses life and traits reflect
significantly on his persona and prove his heroism. From birth, Moses heroic destiny is clear. He is
born into a family lineage of divine power and knowledge, and then Pharaoh raises him. Although his
biological mother put [him] in [a basket] among the reeds at the river s brink, he is well aware of his
roots throughout his early life. This knowledge significantly affects his actions, which reflect his
inherent heroism. Before God confronts Moses, he sees an

Acid Base Extraction Lab Report
Acid Base Extraction Lab
Experimental:
Three grams of a mixture containing Benzoic Acid and Naphthalene was obtained and placed in 100
ml beaker and added 30 ml of ethyl acetate for dissolving the mixture. A small amount (1 2 drops) of
this mixture was separated into a test tube. This test tube was covered and labelled as M (mixture).
This was set to the side and used the following week for the second part of lab. The content in the
beaker was then transferred into separatory funnel. 10 ml of 1 M NaOH added to the content and
placed the stopper in the funnel. In the hood separatory funnel was gently shaken for approximately
one minute and vent the air out for five seconds. We repeated the same process in the same manner
one more time by adding 10ml of 1M NaOH.
After about 1 minute of shaking, the two layers separated. The organic layer on the top layer
(consisted of ethyl acetate and naphthalene) collected for further experiment; by adding Sodium
Sulfate into organic phase and filtering the Na2So4 from the solution using the wool. The dried
organic layer was weighed to get its mass and the residue of Na2SO4 were rinsed with ethyl acetate
under vacuum (rotary evaporator). The acid extract on the bottom layer which is a combination of
benzoic acid and NaOH were collected in the 50 mL Erlenmeyer beaker for the recovery of acid.
We then created an ice bath using a 250mL Erlenmeyer beaker. The 50 mL Erlenmeyer beaker was

The Salem Witchcraft Trials In The Crucible By Authur Miller

The Crucible is a play written by Authur Miller that is based on the Salem Witch Trials but is partially
made up. The Trials were a series of events that happened from the spite of jealousy, interior motives,
fear, and religion. Two hundred people were accused of witchcraft and twenty were hanged for it. And
although there are many superstitions about what and why the events occurred, any are yet to be
confirmed. But we know for sure that they did not happen for good reasons. Twenty people died from
the manipulation and threatening of a seventeen year old girl, Abigail Williams. She committed

The Wrong Direction
Religion has convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being: what God wants
and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter). Religion, even though there are billions
of followers, is based solely on what just a few important religious characters have said. For instance,
Islam was started by a man named Mohammed, who communicated with God and became a prophet.
Nobody saw him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however, when Mohammed
came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the message, people who
had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new religion: Islam. Over the course of
Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The Message , many ... Show more content on

The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife. When a Christian
dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other again when they die, based on the
concept that there is a Heaven, where all Christians go (given they prayed for forgiveness and didn t
commit any high level crimes, such as murder). However, if that person disobeyed the Christian rules,
that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific element of religion is one of the main
reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for Christians, and similar environments in other
religions. However, this isn t the only way the hope of religion is used. When a religious individual
prays, many times they will ask a favor of God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or
Please God, help me lose weight . This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than
focusing on achieving something personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going
to the gym every day to lose weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will
come true with virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and
prays to God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is
celebrated by the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that
God is simply testing one s faith. I would

These people with incurable diseases and conditions do not want to live the last days of life in a hospital room in immense pain, attached to tubes and machines that are the difference between life and death. Many people do not understand the perspective from a patient s point of view unless, they are in this situation, in the unbearable pain that makes each day painful. This was the case for Brittany Maynard, a twenty nine year old woman who was diagnosed with glioblastoma. She was told that she only had six months to live because of her terrible tumor, there is no cure for her disease and she new she would die. The best option for her situation seemed to be assisted suicide. Brittany and her husband moved to Oregon, which is one of the few states that has legalized assisted suicide in order to pursue her wish of ending her life. According to Brittany I ve discussed with many experts how I would die from it and it s a terrible, terrible way to die. So being able to choose to go with dignity is less terrifying. Being able to have a choice and dignity does not make patients weak and does not mean that they are giving up, it simply means they do not want to remember life to be painful and have their family members have this as their last ... Examples Of RebirthIn Phoenix Jackson How Phoenix Jackson Represents Rebirth and Immortality When reading the colorful story Worn Path by Eudora Welty, her many descriptions bringing life to what would have been a desolated America during the Great Depression. Phoenix Jackson, main character, herself even becoming something to examine and study, as well as the characters and environment she encounters. Phoenix Jackson embarks on a journey to retrieve medicine for her sick grandson. Phoenix Jackson is described first as old African American woman. When given her description of herself (outfit and features), personality, and her many struggles to retrieve medicine, can been seen as rebirth or immortality, as well as describing America and it s future after depression. Phoenix Jackson s body, that is described, and her ethnicity are worth studying. At this time in history, the nineteen thirties, being a woman and African American were both downsides to what would have been desired: Caucasian and male. Phoenix Jackson s skin tone is also described very differently as well, with patches of multi skin tone with blue rage eyes (288). At first it is another noteworthy description, but when view deeper it could represent multiple things. Like many rebirthing that of a phoenix (mythical bird, that rebirth in a fireball, and reborns from their ashes) goes through, signifying her treacherous journey and obstacles overcome. It also can be used to show the diversity of not just her, but of America, where everyone old, sick, poor, no matter of race suffering all together. Phoenix Jackson wrinkles on her face, described as a tree roots, where tree sported in the middle of her face. Then even goes as far as telling us that gold underlining around her wrinkles and forehead, a color commonly associated with phoenix colors (usually represented as gold and red). Which explains her red rag that she wears around her head. Like that of a phoenix, she herself is draped like one. From Phoenix s scalp to her golden wrinkles. Measure Success InRelation To An American Society How do we measure success in relation to an American society? , The answer isn t really definitive. I would say that the meaning of success varies depending on who you ask. To some, success can simply mean, being the best at something. To others, success is measured on some sort of accomplishment (for example: getting honours in school or receiving a promotion). Everyday, we search through the web and news stations, looking to see who made it and set our goals to either meet or go farther than them. We praise those who are successful and usually disregard those who aren t. How Did BenChifley Influence The Labour Movement I try to think of the Labour movement, not as putting an extra sixpence into somebody s pocket, or making somebody Prime Minister or Premier, but as a movement bringing something better to the people, better standards of living, greater happiness to the mass of the people. We have a great objective the light on the hill which we aim to reach by working for the betterment of mankind not only here but anywhere we may give a helping hand. This is but a short excerpt of Ben Chifley s famous Light on the Hill speech in 1949, but it shows the extent of his political aptitude and beliefs as a true believer in the Labour movement. Role Of TheaterIn The Renaissance Theaters of the Renaissance Theaters and Drama have been around for quite sometime. The production of these play have changed over the years. The theaters in the Renaissance helped to shape the way of theaters to how we know them today. Theaters like The Globe,The Swan, The Rose and The Curtin. These were a few of the main theaters at the time. The role that these theaters played was very important and influential to the culture of theaters in today s society. In England there were pretty much two different kinds of buildings. There were outside playhouses which were used for things like bear baiting. And Inns, which are basically inside theaters. Eventually these turned into public and private theaters. Public theaters were mostly found in the suburbs. Public theaters were The Rose, The Globe, The Curtain, and The Theater. People could get into a public theater for as little as one cent, but they had to stand on the ground, they were called groundlings. Public theaters typical held about 3,000 people. Argumentative Essay OnGay Rights The bible is a collection of accounts, the first of these were compiled over 3500 years ago and the full bible was first compiled around 1900 years ago. So can this book which was written in an age with crucifixion and inequality be applicable to a society now driven by phones and jet flights? It is a comfort to many an enemy to others but can it help untangle the mystery of modern life and help you find a deeper meaning and purpose for the things you do on earth. This is the question that i m going to be giving my opinion on in this piece. Gay rights is something that many in the twenty first century have strived to achieve for people. However written in the bible (NIV, 1st corinthians 6:9 11) Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. this was written by paul one of jesus s apostles who had been taught by jesus himself. This quote from the bible shows that society has changed a lot since the writing of the bible and some of the views expressed in the bible are no longer applicable to modern life. The core morals that are in the bible are still applicable today even more today than maybe be before as there is growing social unrest , crime is increasing and the wage gap is increasing. Thunderstruck This is the second highest ranked game and is known for delivering big wins with the highest winner receiving an impressive $758,000. With figures like that in its back catalogue, there is no denying the appeal of the original Thunderstruck title. Burning Desire This game boasts the highest single money payout of all three games, with a staggering $949,000 payout occurring last year. The figure is more than any other game during such time frame (excluding progressive slots), however the stats say that you have less of chance of winning at Burning Desire than the other two titles on this list. Many other games have big payouts and frequent wins, but the aforementioned three most are the most successful titles of the moment. Persuasive Essay OnPortugal Since 2001, Portugal has prioritized harm reduction in drug abuse and have treated addiction as a health issues instead of a crime issue. Many believe that this policy has reduced drug addiction, but others feel that it has encouraged the use of illegal drugs. I believe that Portugal is taking the wrong stance against drugs and should be viewing them in a criminal manner. This policy can be supported in historical context via the burning of opium by the Chinese government and by the use of methamphetamine by German soldiers in World War II. The unprecedented casualties of World War I brought the need for treatment of acute and chronic pain. This inspired the Weimar and Nazi governments to adopt an attitude of tolerance toward the use of drugs to relieve pain, increase performance, and avoid withdrawal. The Theory OfAlgebraic Semi Rings ON BORNOLOGICAL SEMI RINGS ANWAR N. IMRAN Abstract. Our main focus in this work is to generalizes the theory of algebraic semi ring from the algebraic setting to the framework of bornological set. More specifically, the concept of new structure bornological semi ring BSR is introduced and the fundamental constructions in the class of bornological semi rings are discussed. In particular, the existence of arbitrary projective limits and arbitrary inductive limits of bornological semi ring is ensured. Additionally, the description of the category of bornological semi rings is presented and we study the product, coproduct and fiber product. Key words: Bornological Set, Bornological Ring. 1. That motivated the definition and more general classes bounded sets and called bornologies. A bornological space is a type of space in functional analysis and it is very useful to solve problem of boundedness for set of elements and functions. That means, the main goal for bornology is to determine the boundedness, location and sitting the boundary for any area. A bornology on a set X is a family β of subsets of X, such that; Every singleton set fxg is in β, that means, β covering X ; If A ⊂ B, B 2 β then A 2 β; β is stable under finite union. Darkness Byron Distortion TheDarkness written by Lord Byron introduces the story by stating I had a dream which was not all a dream (line 1). This indicates that Byron used illusion that is somewhat realistic to show distortion; as a romantic poem, the introduction emphasizes escape to fictional world from reality. Moreover, the entire poem prophesizes end of the world, which many people during the Romantic Era considered that idea as a trend. The darkness, an entity that breaks the law of nature, is known to bring the end or the world: did wander darkling in the eternal space (line 3). The negative emotion of survival has tainted the whole poem, which emphasizes the author s emotion of his life when he experienced separation of love ones or hardship throughout ... How The WorldHas Changed Over Time Essay While interviewing an individual from another generation, my father, I learned a lot about how the world has changed over the past years. Many things such as events that had happened during their prime years actually still affect people today. It is amazing and shocking to see the differences that have come about in the past 60 years. The views in working, education, role models, and life changing moments have all changed over time. While interviewing my father I had many interesting statistics come up that I have never even thought about or questioned. My father was born in 1955, making him currently 60 years of age. He grew up on a farm in which he hated and vowed to leave and not return. During the 9th grade, my father dropped out of school to begin his work in the field of construction. Trip Before TheFirst Year Of My College I have always looked forward to traveling to London. This is because of the exciting stories I heard from my friends. From the stories, I heard that London accommodated the best museums, and other historical places. I planned and decided to take the trip before the first year of my college. I have not traveled alone outside the United States of America so I scheduled the visit to London late October 2014. Before traveling, I bought the travel card via online. I ensured I had paid for my return ticket. This timing turned out to be perfect because my cousin who resides in London invited me to his place, it was an opportunity for me to spend my vacation with him in London. I ensured that I had sufficient cash. After confirming my reservation, I had a mixed feeling of travelling alone. On getting into the aircraft, my heart was panting because I was faced with challenges of unknown fear. I encouraged myself that I can make it down to London without any problem. The plane ride was fun and I arrived to my desired city on a Monday, collected my luggage from the claiming point at Heathrow. My cousin waited patiently to welcome me, as soon as I saw him my heart was filled with joy that I finally made it alone to London. My cousin rushed and hugged me, took my luggage and we headed to the tube which is the equivalent to the underground subway in New York City but it s much cleaner and more organized in London so, we rode for an hour to get to his house which was located in the ... Snickers Vs TwixResearch Paper Throughout many years there has been a debate between whether Snickers or Twix is the best candy bar overall. When discussed, people have disputed on whether the flavors in the candy bars are tastier, which candy bar is healthier, and which has more appeal in advertising.Even though Snickers and Twix bars are made by the same company (Mars) they are very different. Snickers fans might say that Snickers bars are the best because they have peanuts in the bar, this might be true for the majority people, but not those with allergies. This evidence proves that Twix is the best candy bar. One of the reasons that people think that Twix is the best candy bar is its overall appeal. Furthermore, the wafer adds to the overall appeal. The Absurd GeniusesOf All Time Samuel Beckett, regarded as one of the best Theater of the Absurd geniuses of all time, is an Irish playwright and director of the avant garde. Living in Paris France for the majority of his life, he wrote in both English and French. Using bleak and hopeless themes, his works depict a harsh attack on realism and challenge the very meaning of life. Beckett s works opened the world of theater to many interesting possibilities in drama and fiction. He introduced to theater and novel the idea that the existence of human life is absurd, an idea that is prominent in his writings. Born and raised in Ireland, he excelled in his education at Dublin University and Campbell College before moving to Paris in 1928. Here he was introduced to the profound Irish author, James Joyce, who is regarded as one of the most influential and important authors of the 20th century. Beckett and Joyce assisted in each other s writings, including the book, Finnegans Wake (1939). Finnegans Wake shows some of Beckett s darkness with its themes of sin interpreted in a dreamlike state. This book also inspired Beckett s more comedic approach to the dark and depressing themes in most of his works. Assumption (1929), written by Beckett, was his first of many stories. Consisting of various themes of human nature and Irish folklore, this story was the first of many that could be considered as difficult to understand or just gibberish, due to its syntax being strained to incomprehensibility. Although I have took several classes that outline the benefits of eating healthy, I often find myself setting a healthy eating goal and relapsing the next day. My goals first consisted of me getting a balanced diet for three months. This goal began to fail after two days. I had visited family members during the thanksgiving holiday and ate several unhealthy foods. I then set a small goal of consuming only healthy foods for a week. I wrote down the foods I would eat each day, within that week, and their proportion size. This goal last for three days, and failed due to financial issues. Foods that were easy to prepare became my best friend. However, when I became pregnant, I began to gain excuses weight. My doctor informed on the importance it was to eat a balanced diet. He also taught me the effects unhealthy foods could have on the baby, as well as me while being pregnant. Eating healthy then became a struggle, due to me having a loss of appetite. Now that I am not pregnant anymore, and have gained my appetite back, it was not evident to me the different foods and calories I consume in a day. Essay On MercuryPollution Mercury pollution occurs from industrial sources such as mining, power plants and coal combustion centers. When mercury is released from the sources, it can travel halfway around the world before it ever enters into the waterways and contaminates the fish that we then eat. Through the trade of those fish, people in every continent are at risk for mercury pollution. Newborns are also at risk of mercury pollution due to the consummation of fish by their mothers, thousands of babies are at risk every year of impaired motor skills ( Reduce Mercury Pollution ). In order to reduce the pollutants of mercury we need to implement a policy to clean up sites already contaminated, limit the amounts discharged into the water and provide consumers on tips to reduce their exposure to it. My first step in decreasing the amount of mercury is to focus on the areas that are already contaminated. They would priority since the mercury would have had time to sit and settle and we would want to clean it up before it causes further harm. Some of the sites would be cleaned up under the EPA s superfund policy. One example of a site that is being cleaned up is the Carson River Mercury Site in Nevada. This is the former sites of mills and mining that have contaminated the soil, waterways and fish over a 50 mile stretch. Nevada at one time recommended that limited consumption of fish and duck from the river should be in effect. State and federal actions are being performed in order to excavate and remove the contaminated soils and they were sent to a mineral resource recovery facility. That action has already reduced the amount of exposure during the monitoring period and they plan to add a layer of clean topsoil to reduce the exposure to any mercury soil left behind. They have also worked in sampling 26 different developments for mercury affects and levels. They are working on figuring out the cost and benefit of cleaning up the rivers sediment to try to remove the mercury from the river, wetlands and reservoir. In the meantime short term cleanup will be done in order to prevent threats to the population( Carson River Mercury Site ). Analysis Of ThePlay Everyman The play Everyman , was written in the late 15th century and is the only play that is based totally on morality. The play is meant to look at moral lessons and is written about a person, no one even knows his name, who is standing for all men and looks at the journey of his life. This play has a lot of different characters that come and go out of Everyman s life. Characters that he wants to go on his journey, but they are not able to go. This play offers some humor as well, which may hard to tell when reading it. One of them is when Everyman tries to make a deal with the Devil for his life, which does not turn out well. Everyman has been compared to different plays including Mankind and Youth. (Tanner 1991). Both plays also deal with the journey of life from youths to their death. It has also been compared to Pilgrim s Progress , which is a novel, that looks at humanity and religion and how the death of Jesus can wash their sins away. (Adu Gyamfi and Schmidt 2011, 265). Everyman also has a similar theme with Dance of Death , which looks at the black death and plaques in England and France in the fourteenth and fifteenth century (Moran 1972, 324). This of course was a very hard death and was used for retribution of sins. Everyman was not like that at all. The play starts with the messenger coming and telling us what to look for in our lives and not commit any sins, so in the end God will be there. Then God comes in and speaks. She was bound by the letter A for adulteress as she had borne an illegitimate child; the purpose of the scarlet symbol was to mark the possessor with shame. However, Hester wore the excessively embroidered symbol on her heart with pride. Hester Prynne showed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A mother s love for her child compares to no other. Hester Prynne s mothering abilities were challenged in the chapter, The Elf Child and the Minister, but she did not let that deter her from fighting for her child. Mr. Wilson, a venerable pastor, cried out to Pearl ...who art thou, and what has ailed thy mother to bedizen thee in this strange fashion? Art thou a Christian child ha? Dost know thy catechism? Or art thou one of those naughty elfs or fairies whom we thought to have left behind us... . Mr. Wilson s interest in the child lead Governor Bellingham, an elderly gentleman, to inquire about her religious upbringing. Canst thou tell me, my child, who made thee? said the Governor. Even though the girl had been informed about her heavenly father, Pearl replied that she had not been made at all, but had been plucked by her mother off the bush of wild roses that grew by the prison door . The Governor was astonished and quickly implied that the child should be immediately released into the control of the Puritan Magistrate. Hester, a force to be reckoned with, confronted the Governor and yelled, God gave me the child! He gave her in requital of all things else, which ye had taken from me. She is my happiness...Pearl keeps me here in life! ... Ye shall not take her! I will die first! Her passion for the child seeped through every word spoken by herself and Mr. Dimmesdale who also defended her. Hester faced many difficulties throughout the novel but she remained strong through everything, even when her daughter was threatened to be taken from her. Determining the WaterPotential of Potato Cells EXERCISE 1C: Determining the Water Potential of Potato Cells Introduction: Water potential was defined above as an expression of the tendency of water to diffuse from one region to another. Water potential is a numerical value that must be determined for a given temperature and pressure. In this exercise you will determine the water potential of potato cells at room temperature and ambient pressure by placing cores of potato tissue in sucrose solutions of different concentrations and measuring the net movement of water in each case. In animal cells, movement of H2O into and out of a cell is influenced by the relative concentration of solute on either side of the cell membrane. If water moves out of the cell, the cell will shrink or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We will assume, for purposes of explanation, that the solute is not diffusing (Figure 1 .2a). The movement of water into the cell causes the cell to swell, and the cell membrane pushes against the cell wall to produce an increase in pressure (turgor). Figure 1.2a Before Pure Water (p= 0; ((= 0; ( = 0 (p= 0; ((= 3; ( = 3 Figure 1.2b After Pure Water (p= 0; ((= 0; ( = 0 (p= +3; ((= 3; ( = 0 As water continues to diffuse into the cell, the rising positive turgor pressure begins to cancel out the negative osmotic potential of the cell. This process will continue until the positive turgor pressure is so large it completely cancels the negative osmotic potential, and the water potential of the cell = 0 = ( of pure water. At this point, a dynamic equilibrium is reached, and net water movement will cease (Figure 1.2b). Now imagine starting over with a fresh piece of potato in a beaker of distilled water. The potato has a water potential of 2.3 bars, as in the above example. If you add solute to the water outside the potato cells, the water potential of the solution surrounding the cells will decrease. It is

Positive Behavioral InterventionIn Schools It is exceedingly important for schools to ensure a balanced and stable environment that provides safety, well being, and acceptance to all students. In order to do this, as well as generate a positive communal learning atmosphere that empowers the entire student body of the school and the individual classroom, there needs to be a school wide positive behavioral intervention and support (PBIS) system implemented. The defined explanation of PBIS is a framework for enhancing the adoption and implementation of a continuum of evidence based interventions to achieve academically and behaviorally important outcomes for all student (Sugai and Simonsen, 2012). The goal of a PBIS application to a school s community is to develop appropriate standards ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to do this, there needs to be a system established that collects data through detecting and monitoring individual, as well as situational, behavioral issues (Marzano, R., Marzano, J., Pickering, 2003, pg.112); these may be a recurring, or severe, behavioral problems that happen in the school s hallways, cafeteria, or on school grounds. To help in gathering this information the school can establish different charts and individual folders for each student. For example, a chart for behavioral referrals may be used to identify the student, the date, the teacher involved, the reason for involvement, and the student s consequence (Marzano, R. J., Association for Supervision and Curriculum, D., 2005, pg. 164). Another chart that can be useful and successful monitors individual student behaviors; this report will give data on a singular student, and it contains the date of incidents, the teacher involved, the behavioral offense, and the consequence given (Marzano, R. J., Association for Supervision and Curriculum, D., 2005, pg. 165). This graph gives similar data to the behavioral referrals; however, it is more specific aiming detection on one student, not the entire grade or class level. The safety and disciplinary team ... Examples Of HeroismIn The Book Of Exodus The Book of Exodus is the story of the Israelite s escape from slavery through the leadership of Moses and power of God. Moses demonstrates numerous heroic characteristics throughout the Book of Exodus as he leads the Israelites to freedom. As defined by Professor of Classics at Rutgers University Lowell Edmunds, a hero is a man, often of divine ancestry, [and] favored by the gods. In addition, Edmunds continues the definition of a hero as one who is endowed with great courage and strength...especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life. Under this definition, we can draw significant parallels between Moses s life and a traditional hero s life. God chooses and favors Moses; he is born into a divine line, and also granted great powers to aid him in his journey. In addition, he uses his God given strength to lead and protect the Israelites. Lastly, Moses sacrifices his life to fulfill his heroic responsibility, despite his original hesitations. These aspects of Moses life and traits reflect significantly on his persona and prove his heroism. From birth, Moses heroic destiny is clear. He is born into a family lineage of divine power and knowledge, and then Pharaoh raises him. Although his biological mother put [him] in [a basket] among the reeds at the river s brink, he is well aware of his roots throughout his early life. This knowledge significantly affects his actions, which reflect his inherent heroism. Before God confronts Moses, he sees an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Acid Base ExtractionLab Report Acid Base Extraction Lab Experimental: Three grams of a mixture containing Benzoic Acid and Naphthalene was obtained and placed in 100 ml beaker and added 30 ml of ethyl acetate for dissolving the mixture. A small amount (1 2 drops) of this mixture was separated into a test tube. This test tube was covered and labelled as M (mixture). This was set to the side and used the following week for the second part of lab. The content in the beaker was then transferred into separatory funnel. 10 ml of 1 M NaOH added to the content and placed the stopper in the funnel. In the hood separatory funnel was gently shaken for approximately one minute and vent the air out for five seconds. We repeated the same process in the same manner one more time by adding 10ml of 1M NaOH. After about 1 minute of shaking, the two layers separated. The organic layer on the top layer (consisted of ethyl acetate and naphthalene) collected for further experiment; by adding Sodium Sulfate into organic phase and filtering the Na2So4 from the solution using the wool. The dried organic layer was weighed to get its mass and the residue of Na2SO4 were rinsed with ethyl acetate under vacuum (rotary evaporator). The acid extract on the bottom layer which is a combination of benzoic acid and NaOH were collected in the 50 mL Erlenmeyer beaker for the recovery of acid. We then created an ice bath using a 250mL Erlenmeyer beaker. The 50 mL Erlenmeyer beaker was then labeled as Acid Extract , and was placed in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Wrong Direction Religionhas convinced modern society to not only consider humanity s well being: what God wants and our place in either Heaven or Hell in the afterlife (Sutter). Religion, even though there are billions of followers, is based solely on what just a few important religious characters have said. For instance, Islam was started by a man named Mohammed, who communicated with God and became a prophet. Nobody saw him or the angel which visited Mohammed at this time, however, when Mohammed came down from the mountain where he was praying, and began to spread the message, people who had previously been polytheists converted to Mohammed s new religion: Islam. Over the course of Mohammed s life, as depicted in the movie The Message , many ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second purpose of religion is to instill hope, such as the concept of an afterlife. When a Christian dies, others will believe that they will be able to see each other again when they die, based on the concept that there is a Heaven, where all Christians go (given they prayed for forgiveness and didn t commit any high level crimes, such as murder). However, if that person disobeyed the Christian rules, that person will go to Hell, an eternal damnation. This specific element of religion is one of the main reasons for joining a religion the hope of Heaven for Christians, and similar environments in other religions. However, this isn t the only way the hope of religion is used. When a religious individual prays, many times they will ask a favor of God, such as Please God, let me get an A on this paper , or Please God, help me lose weight . This is where I personally begin to have problems rather than focusing on achieving something personally, such as studying and working hard on a paper, or going to the gym every day to lose weight, prayer is commonly used as a vehicle to hope that something will come true with virtually no work put in. Another example of this hope is if one has a headache and prays to God it will go away, there will be two outcomes: it goes away naturally, then God is celebrated by the individual as their savior, or the headache persists and the individual believes that God is simply testing one s faith.
