Amphibious Training Base
The next picture is the sign and building of the Amphibious Training Base which is located on Silver
Strand between the Pacific Ocean and San Diego Bay. The base was obtained by the Navy in June
1943 as a training base for amphibious warfare. That was its purpose throughout the war. The training
base became known as the home of the Alligator Navy . This is because of all the types of amphibious
landing vehicles called alligators . The base was taken over by the Navy after the war. The facility was
active throughout the Cold War as well. The land was created from the excavation of the San Diego
Bay to allow large ships to steam into Naval Station San Diego. These boats were used in World War
II. The base is the only Naval amphibious base

Sticky Eye Technique
Why you should use eye contact.
Eye contact builds a level of trust with the other person. It also projects confidence and communicates
your level of attraction.
Establish eye contact
When you spot a person that you are attracted to try short frequent glances. With your glance add a
smile to elicit submissiveness.
Add a smile to your gaze
When you add a smile to your gaze it shows friendliness and romantic intentions. If you get a smile
back it shows that their attracted to you.
Once your eyes lock and there is a held gaze you now have the green light to approach them.
Once you have the green light use your eyebrows to start the conversation
When you raise your eyebrows it shows the other person that you are interested in communicating

When gazing into the other persons eye its best to hold it for at least 4 or 5 seconds.
Interesting information: You can get someone to obey you by holding your gaze. This is done by
speaking steadily and clearly as if everything your saying is intentional. It is also important to hold
your head still when gazing into someone s eye. When you do this action with a frown it shows
concern and when lower your eyebrows it shows that your questioning something.
Extra tips:
Sticky Eye Technique
This is where you maintain your gaze on your partner, even during silence. If you have to away from
them do it slowly and unwillingly. This is a good way to seduce someone into thinking about you.
This method also creates a fight or flight reaction in a person releasing the chemical phenyl
ethylamine in the body. When this occurs it causes the other to generate emotions of love.
Make Your Pupils Dilate
In a study it was shown that dilated puplis are more attractive to men than small pupils. To enlarge
your pupils, look at a feature on the guy that your attracted to. Then think loving or sexy thoughts in
your head, this will cause your pupils to dilate.

Compare And Contrast Book And Movie
After reading the novel and watching the movie the novel is better. These are the reasons why. First,
Kenny is different in the movie than in book. Second, Byron has a way different personality in the
book than in the movie. Last, Grandma sands is just way different in the movie that in the book. The
book is way better than the movie. Kenny is different in the movie than in the book. For example,
Kenny was 10 years old in the book, but in the movie he was 12 years old. A second example, Kenny
had a lazy eye in the book, but in the movie he had glasses. A third example, Kenny got taught how to
survive in a blizzard in the book, but in the movie he don t. Overall, it s like kenny has two different

Comparing James Eads How And Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
With a first glance, an article of a man who, although he s rich, poses as a hobo and a novel about a
mad scientist who s creation goes astray may not seem to have much in common. In many ways,
James Eads How and Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley s Frankenstein are quite different. James
Eads How gave up his riches to live a poor, but humble life. How was a real man that lived in the early
20th century. His story was widely popular, and writer and illustrator Tim Lane, recently made a
comic about How s adventure called The Millionaire Who Lived as a Hobo and published it on the
Riverfront Times, a news and culture website. While Victor Frankenstein is nothing more than a
fictional character made up in 1818. A character of a science fiction novel with questionable morals
but a keen sense of what he wants in the world. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both How and Frankenstein had very strong beliefs and, with those beliefs, have very ambitious plans.
And each of these goals differ from how they were raised to become. For example, How grew up in a
wealthy home, he had everything he needed and people who served him daily, even said in a comic
made about him, it s stated: James Eads How was an unlikely crusader for the hobo class. He was born
into enormous wealth. Even though his childhood was such, he always felt of the same level as the
servants and maids who aided this. This may have also stemmed from his interest in theology. From
the way he was raised, one wouldn t assume that he would become a homeless man, traveling by train
trying to find work and

Earth Is Flat Essay
A YouTube video published by YouTube user Jeranism calls out government and NASA. The video
also questions the Earth as a flat surface, rather than a spherical globe as we all have been taught since
childhood. The YouTube video also shows ISS live feed from NASA, as well as pre packaged videos
released by NASA and the government. Jeranism claims that the Earth is flat, and anyone who sides
with those beliefs either works for the CIA or is paid by some other association with an alternative
agenda. Is the Earth actually flat? Could the spherical globe we all spun in classrooms be the biggest
sham ever? Probably not, but the video brings up a few interesting questions.
Are NASA and the Government Lying?
Well, it is tough to say, since the majority of us have yet to travel off the planet on a SpaceX mission
to Mars. The YouTube video shares a few flat earther points of view. One major point flat earthers
make is the relevance to the human senses. Many flat earthers believe that the Earth being flat simply
makes more sense. The YouTube commentary details how walking on Earth is a more flat experience
sense wise. We don t feel spinning, which can be attributed to gravity, or lies about gravity. NASA and
the government definitely have their secrets, but the earth being flat seems to be a long ... Show more

lucky astronauts who have had the amazing experience of launching into space, the rest of us

Cults And Its Effects On Society
Cults have been around since the 1930 s and are becoming well known around the world. Although
awareness has been spread out about the serious consequences joining a cult may have on a person s
life, individuals continue falling pray into cultic groups and remain an active part; the result of joining
is decades being brainwashed into believing only the members hold the truth /enlighten by already
brainwashed, devoted members and their prophet . The majorities of individuals in a cult live under
cruel, almost inhumane, conditions and are treated awfully. The members have been stripped from
interacting with family members/friends, freedom on speech, nutrients, money, and the right to think
for one s self. Probably the worst punishment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Normally in cultic groups, it is prohibited to assimilate with non members. If those whom are caught
breaking this rule, her or she will suffer serious consequences such as beating, public humiliation, and
starvation. Another characteristic shared among this group is the zero tolerance of priest, rabbis, or
ministers berating/ harassing their congregations with hate speeches towards anyone with the intent of
causing harm to another person. If a priest happens to encounter someone problematic, it is
encouraged to pray for his or her salvation. Also related to the priest, he will not restrict couples from
a normal sex life; instead, priest will promote self respecting boundaries for couples in and out
marriages. Usually in terror groups, the priest controls all sexual activity among individuals and
frequently demands members to use his or her sexual appeal to lure new recruits. This method of
recruitment often leads marriages to end. Correlating with normal characteristic presented in a group,
it is imperative to take a carful look at the movement s leader and examine if he or she presents good
leadership qualities that will make the whole groups successful not just them. As presented in Olsson s
(2013) journal Normal Compared to Abnormal Leaders and Groups, a good leader obtain four
necessary qualities: knowledge, honesty, narcissism, and communication skills. Leaders should be
capable of making smart decisions under stressful circumstances,

The Public School System Of Education
The public school system of education in the United States of America needs to change for many
different reason, we not only need for our schools to change we need it to be done as soon as possible.
We live in a society where our children are failing to meet the academic standards or enhanced their
social skills to be prepared for the outside world. My second reason for our schools to change is that
they are overcrowded for insists one teacher in one classroom can teach up to 15 to 20 kids. My last
reason is the budget for our schools, we are losing funding for many different things raging from
materials to creative classes.
Besides parents themselves teachers are extremely important because they are the key to our children s
education future. Madeline Levine said ( One thing we know for sure is that kids learn better when
teachers are invested and paying attention and showing they care. ) Which is very true, you see
without teachers our kids would be sitting ducks however, it is also up to us the parents to teach our
kids as John Hood said in his article ( Providing students opportunities at school does not guarantee
success if student watch television rather than do their homework and parents let them. ) We as the
parents and teachers need some type of communication and understanding because our children are
failing, some are struggle to meet the academic standards. The school board created this program
called no child left behind and you would think that is a good thing

The UFC returns to Madison Square Garden for UFC 217 this Saturday, and the jam packed card
features two legends, three title fights and many rising stars. The main event will be for the UFC
middle weight title, but there s a certain amount of uncertainty regarding what the winner of the fight
between champion Michael Bisping and Georges St Pierre will actually do with the title. Bisping is
defending the title for the second time since winning it at UFC 199 in June 2016, and it will be against
a fighter who hasn t fought in four years in St Pierre. Significantly enough however, it has been more
than a year since Bisping successfully defended the title against Dan Henderson, as he has dealt with
injuries and the possibility of retiring. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nov. 4, you re going to find out, pal. Former longtime welterweight champion St Pierre hasn t fought
since UFC 167 in November 2013. It was a close battle against Johny Hendricks, after which he won
by decision and promptly stepped away from the UFC. There have been moments where fans thought
they might see his return, but none of those were as real as challenging Bisping for the title. There
were many rumors circulating about his delay from returning, but the only person who really has the
answers is St Pierre himself. St Pierre won 12 straight fights from 2007 to 2013, a time in which he
absolutely ruled the welterweight division. The only two losses on his record, to Matt Hughes and
Matt Serra, he avenged in convincing fashion. Aside Hughes and Serra, the 36 year old has defeated
high profile names such as Nick Diaz, BJ Penn and Carlos Condit. How he will perform after a four
year layoff against a bigger fighter at a heavier weight is the biggest question. No one in the
middleweight division, including Bisping, seems to think that St Pierre will defend the title if he wins.
St Pierre cleared up those thoughts to the MMA Hour in August. I have to defend my title, St Pierre
said. It s written in my contract. I have to defend my title if I win. In response to moving back down to
welterweight after fighting Bisping and not defending, St Pierre said, That wasn t my

Primary Objective Of Starting A Business Essay
The primary objective of starting a business is to gain customers, and it is the most crucial part in the
success of running a business. In order to thrive into today s economy business entities across the
globe use marketing as a tool for gaining new customers and retaining the existing ones (Wood, 2008).
Thus, marketing remains to be the main backbone of new and existing businesses successes.
Apparently, there are several basic concepts of marketing, which are commonly used by numerous
marketers of goods and services. These marketing concepts comprise of the sellers, consumers, the
product development, the market research, product positioning, the product image, the product
concept, and the brand loyalty. These concepts combined with the marketing boundaries help in
determining the consumer behaviour of the product under marketing. It is important to state that the
marketing concepts dictate that the success of a firm often depends on the marketing efforts that a
company employs (Wood,2008) The concepts also dictate that the successes of a company will depend
with how it delivers a better value proposition compared to its competitors. Thus, it is appropriate for
the stakeholders of a given business entity to understand that that effective marketing drive consumers
into the company.

Stereotypes And Stereotypes Of Stereotypes
Stereotypes can be defined in several ways and are typically used in a negative or positive manner.
Stereotyping according to Neuliup, J.W., (2012), is referred as the memebership in social categories
such as sex, race, age, or profession that are believed to be associated with certain traits and behaviors.
It may also refer to the belief that one holds against another person or groups of people from a given
ethnic group.
Stereotype s has been known to be used in many films across the globe. There are two types of
stereotype s, a negative stereotype and positive stereotype. Both have diverse effects on the characters
and mostly when the films are watched by the mass then people tend to actualize the notion in the

It was a fortunate event to his rescue when stranger Henry Northup met with
Brad who told him that Solomon was then known as Platt and where exactly he could find him.
He was later rescued and taken back to Washington where he brought charges against those who had
kidnapped him and sold him to slavery. After his rescue, he was taken home where he met his wife
Anne Northup and his daughters Elizabeth and Margaret and their grandson he had never met. His
daughter Margaret was the first to meet him but, sadly she could not recognize him. Discuss the
instances of stereotyping in the film:
Furthermore, the first instance in which stereotype is portrayed in the film is when
Solomon was pretentiously hired by two white men for a two week tour in Washington with their
theatric company to play violin. Here he was drugged and abducted by these two white men and sold
to slavery. He was a perfect violinist, still the white men could not embrace the fact that he was an
excellent artist but he was still sold to slavery. Even though he had legal papers that he was a real
states man he was still sold to slavery. They did not mind about his family and the people he was
providing for and all his children but still went ahead and sold him to slavery. It illustrates how
insignificant a black man is to the white society.

Mary Wollstonecraft And Virginia Woolf
Throughout all of history women have put up a brave fight to have their rights. Many women use
authorship as a way to fight against discrimination and public stigmas. Three such women are Mary
Wollstonecraft, Jane Austen, and Virginia Woolf. Each of these brave women writes about the need for
a change in society, but each authoress has a different style and sometimes even a different view of
what needs to change, for a woman to gain her independence.
Mary Wollstonecraft has a very bold style and feels that education is what separates women from men.
When she writes she is bold but not without tact. In A Vindication of the rights of Women She wisely
states that A degree of physical superiority cannot...be denied . While this statement may not be true in
all respects today, it stirs up a common ground for the opposing argument to stand on. Wollstonecraft s
belief is that an education is what women need to be on equal grounds with men. In A vindication she
makes it very clear that if women have proper education, they will be more able to contribute to
society and their households. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She clearly believes in being well educated, but class also seems to be a recurring focus. Equality is
the subtle focus of her beloved novel Pride and Prejudice. In chapter nineteen of the book, Jane Austen
subtly adds her opinions on women s writes when Lizzy states Do not consider me now as an elegant
female, intending to plague you, but as a rational creature, speaking the truth from her heart . Here,
Austen s cries for equality are very plain but have been added in so subtly that it can be difficult to see
them at first. Like many other famous authors, Austen saw a problem and chose to highlight it through

Analysis Of Soltice And Ransom By Tracy K. Smith
In her collection of poetry Life on Mars, Tracy K. Smith brings real world problems into focus with
Solstice and Ransom . The main idea in Solstice is the geese that forced the Hudson River plane crash
in New York, while Smith writes of the Somalian pirates and sea pollution in Ransom . However,
these are just the literal meanings behind the two poems that have deeper meanings relating to the
state of the world and how humans are playing a role in it, politically and physically. There is a
constant struggle in the poems Solstice and Ransom that where there is always an underdog, whether
it be protesters attempting to make a change or Somalian pirates fighting back because their fishing
waters have been corrupted. A main connection between these poems include their connection to the
time period that Tracy K. Smith s father passed away towards the end of 2008. Because of how
emotional and tragic this time period was to Smith, she holds onto the shreds of hope she had during
that time, including two major events portrayed in the poems. The literal meaning behind the poem
Solstice is the geese that caused flights to be disrupted at the JFK airport. These geese also flew into
pilot Chesley Sully Sullenberger and killed all engine power, making him perform a miracle crash
landing into the Hudson river. Ransom captures the story of Somalian pirates and why they have
naturally been forced into hijacking ships to make a living. The Maersk Alabama hijacking in early

Analytic Functionalism As A Philosophy Of The Mind
Michael Lock
Professor Davis
PHIL 110000
28 April 2015
Analytic Functionalism as a Philosophy of the Mind
In an attempt to bridge the gaps between the philosophy of behaviorism and the identity theory, I have
determined that functionalism presents us with the best solution. Although there are several concerns
to the methodic explanation of mental states, I believe that analytic functionalism is a credible model
that describes the mind. Analytic functionalism establishes an ontological method that provides more
acceptable ways to describe and characterize the mind. I will contend my point by first explaining the
evolution into functionalism, specifically analytic functionalism. I will then explain one of the most
prominent objections, the Chinese Room argument by John Searle. Beyond this argument, I will offer
my rebuttals for these assertions and stipulate reasoning for analytical functionalism s rational
reliability as a suitable philosophy of the mind.
With the decline of behaviorism, the identity theory, or type physicalism, gained popularity within the
philosophic community. J.J.C. Smart, also aiming to work reductively to shrink mental states to an
uncomplicated classification, introduced the stance that identity theorists began to agree with. This
was the theory that physical brain states could be simply equated with mental states. For example, the
mental state of pain could be associated with the firing of the localized c fibers region of the brain.

Rene Descartes Second Meditation Essay
René Descartes, a rationalist philosopher finds uncertainty in almost everything, including his senses,
memory, body and the physical world. Everything besides the fact he himself is a res cogitans
(thinking thing). He puts forth this idea in his second meditation of his most famous works,
Meditations On First Philosophy, published in 1641. This analytic style of writing opens by
considering any belief that was the slightest bit doubtful, as false. Descartes felt the need for this
hyperbolic doubt in order to reach an impartial truth. He then takes you through the thought process
that led him to the one thing that lies beyond all doubt. He finds certainty in the statement Cogito, ergo
sum or I think, therefore I am. FOOTNOTE The first Meditation in Descartes Meditations On First
Philosophy, is based on doubting almost everything he once believed as true. When Descartes found
that beliefs he had were false, he realized all of his beliefs could be threatened. He embraced
scepticism and refused to accept anything that it is possible to ... Show more content on

soul, its capability and his body into doubt. Descartes wonders if this means he simply does not exist?

Polysar Limited recent assignment.
BACKGROUND
Rubber Group is the largest of the three operating units of Polysar Limited. The primary users of its
products, such as butyl and halobutyl, are manufacturers of automobile tires; other users are from
various industries. In 1986, Rubber group contributed 0.8 billion which is 46 percent of the company
annual sale. The operation of the group is divided into four divisions, NASA (North America and
South America) and EROW (Europe and rest of the world), Research department and Global

The calculation of the two variances started with the standard fixed cost per tonne which was derived
by following formula:
Standard fixed cost/tonne
=Estimated annual total fixed cost /Annual demonstrated plant capacity
This year, the NASA Rubber s estimated annual total fixed cost was 44,625,000, and the annual
demonstrated plant capacity was 85000tonnes. Thus, the standard fixed cost per tonne for 1986 was
525/tonne.
Then, spending variance was calculated by,
Spending Variance=Actual fixed cost Standard fixed cost
Actual fixed cost/tonne=Actual annual total fixed cost /Annual demonstrated capacity
NASA had a favourable spending variance of 498thousand this year which means they spend
498thousand less than budgeted. The actual fixed cost per unit was around 519/tonne.
Volume variance was calculated by,
Volume variance=
(Standard fixed cost/tonne) x ([Actual production] [Demonstrated capacity])
NASA had an unfavourable volume variance of 11.4million which was 5million higher than expected.
As shown above, volume variance was derived by multiplying standard fixed cost/tonne with the
difference between actual production and standard production.
By reorganizing the formula, it became:
Volume Variance=
Standard fixed cost/tonne x Annual total production Estimated annual total fixed cost
Simply speaking, the variance measures the amount of designated

Theory of Chronic Sorrow and Nursing Application
Theory of Chronic Sorrow and Nursing Application The theory of chronic sorrow is a middle range
nursing theory explored largely by Georgene Gaskill Eakes, Mary Lermnann Burke and Maragret A.
Hainsworth. The theory provides framework for understanding and working with individuals who
have experienced a significant loss of a loved one. As stated by Eakes et al. (1998, p. 179), Chronic
sorrow is described as ...the periodic recurrence of permanent, pervasive sadness or other grief related
feelings associated with a significant loss. As nurses, it is vitally important to understand and be aware
of the high potential for chronic sorrow to occur when treating patients across the life span with
chronic and traumatic conditions. Chronic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hobdell (1996) interview a mother of a two year old with a neural tube defect about chronic sorrow in
which she states If you were to ask me these questions in about a year and he was not toilet trained, I
would respond very differently. The statement provided by the mother supports the notion of parents
feeling grief over a child s lack of achieving developmental milestones. Parents may feel
psychological emotions such as frustration and helplessness in relationship to burden of care and
developmental delays. It is imperative as nurses to educate families and provide the tools necessary to
ensure the best possible outcome for both the patient and the caregiver(s). A supporting study by
Austin and McDermott (1988) shows a positive relationship between factors such as the ability to
maintain family integration, optimistic definition of the circumstances, social support, self esteem, and
psychological stability. Maintaining a positive relationship within these components in this authors
viewpoint, can aid in effectively managing the affects of chronic sorrow. Isaksson, Ann Krisitin,
Ahlstrom, and Gerd (2208) study describes the ways in which patients with multiple sclerosis (MS)
display and manage chronic sorrow. Persons with multiple sclerosis, often having feelings of sorrow
and fear due to losses associated with the disease (Isaksson, Ann Kristin, Ahlstrom, Gerd, 2008)

In the three stories Ambush , The Leap , and Contents of the Dead Man s Pockets had many
similarities and differences. These similarities and differences were found in the characters, conflicts,

Ambush , The Leap , and Contents of the Dead Man s Pockets the characters had a major impact on

him. This is a quote from Ambush which showed that the main character in the story made the

because of a paper that blew out of his window, that could have possibly got him a promotion. Him

Scripture Is The Infallible Word Of God Essay
Scripture
I believe that scripture is the infallible Word of God, divinely inspired by God through human hands,
for the teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training of Christians and forming the basis of the Christian
life and guiding them on the path to Christ. I believe that scripture is infallible rather than inerrant,
because human writers through which God spoke can still make mistakes. However, Matthew 24:35
reminds us that God s word is true in all ages and places. 2 Timothy 3:16 gives reasons why it is
import for believes to use the scripture such as teaching and correcting. Scripture guides us along the
path we should as evidences by Psalms 119:105 comparing Scripture to a lamp to show us the way. I
have also personal experienced the wisdom that the scriptures can offer to those who need guidance. I
also believe that scripture should be the main point of guidance, which is something that my church

who rules over the universe as the highest power. He always has been and always will be the eternal

Hansel Short Story
Near a great forest there lived a poor woodcutter and his wife, and his two children; the boy s name
was Hansel and the girl s Grethel. They had very little to bite or to sup, and once, when there was
great dearth in the land, the man could not even gain the daily bread. As he lay in bed one night
thinking of this, and turning and tossing, he sighed heavily, and said to his wife, What will become of
us? we cannot even feed our children; there is nothing left for ourselves.
I will tell you what, husband, answered the wife; we will take the children early in the morning into
the forest, where it is thickest; we will make them a fire, and we will give each of them a piece of
bread, then we will go to our work and leave them alone; they will never find the way home again,
and we shall be quit of them.
No, wife, said the man, I cannot do that; I cannot find in my heart to take my children into the forest
and to leave them there alone; the wild animals would soon come and devour them. O you fool, said
she, then we will all four starve; you had better get the coffins ready, and she left him no peace until
he consented. But I really pity the poor children, said the man.
The two children had not been able to sleep for hunger, and had heard what their step mother had said
to their father. Grethel wept bitterly, and said to Hansel, It is all over with us.
Do be quiet, Grethel, said Hansel, and do not fret; 1 will manage something. And when the parents

Kfc Kentucky Fried Chicken
KFC is a multinational fast food chain company that has successfully established itself in the Latin
American market. It has a long history, going back to where Colonel
Harland Sanders created its distinct recipes. The KFC brand is well known in Latin America, which
makes it a powerful marketing tool to use against competitors, but presently, is not conducting
business in two countries of South America such as Paraguay and Uruguay.
Currently, KFC is under massive attacks from animal organizations, questioning the way KFC s
suppliers are threatening the chicken, before they got slaughtered.
Anti KFC campaigns are affecting KFC s brand image in a negative way and result in direct dollar

Essay On Over Criminalization
So what exactly is over criminalization? In technical terms it is the act of imposing unbalanced
penalties with no relation to the gravity of the offense committed or the culpability of the wrong doer.
In other words, the United states is excessively using and misusing the statutes of criminal law. This is
to include unnecessary criminal statutes such as those in the business realm. For example, transporting
orchids without proper paper work or failure to ship lobster tail in plastic bags. The most redundant
one is the failure to return a library book. Laws in today s society are here to protect us as a whole as
well as maintain order in this country. However, we have an innumerable amount of laws, mostly old
laws, that serve no purpose in this new world we live in. These laws are ones most of us have never
even heard of because they are rarely enforced. As a result, these statutes can legally be implemented

Gourd-Shaped Wine Ewer With Inlaid Grapevine
The gourd shaped wine ewer with inlaid grapevine is a ceramic piece that is currently on display at the
Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, Massachusetts. This piece is from the Goryeo dynasty of 13th century
Korea. It is made from stoneware that was coated with a celadon glaze. A piece like this would have
typically had a lid, but like most similar pieces it was lost over time. The methods of making such
pieces has changed and shifted over the years. Korean pottery has it s own presence as well as having
taken inspiration from other cultures and locations. The use of Ceramics in Korea started around 7000

Disney World
Throughout the world there are so many beautiful and wonderful places to go and spend time to
explore and to relax. From going to a beach, skiing in the mountains, to luxury resorts, all and many
more would make for a great vacation. Every person may think differently and has different
expectations than others of what the best vacation destination would be. However, there is one
destination that so many has thought very highly of. This vacation spot for many is Disney World.
Disney World has been known for many years now to be a wonderful place to go young or old to have
an exciting time. Capturing so many of the scenes and characters from recent and old Disney movies
as well as adding in the thrilling rides and glamorous restaurants in castles, Disney World has truly
brought many unforgettable memories to life. Because of the unbelievable moments there is a reason it
is called one of the happiest places on earth.
In 1964, Walt Disney began to secretly buy millions of dollar s worth of central Florida (History).
Also known as D Day for Orlando, Walt announced that he planned to build a spectacular theme park.
Micky Mouse was one of the characters that got to escort some of the first visitors into the magic
Kingdom. Numerous people including celebrities took part in the celebrations (History). Disney World
has the incredible ability to turn every vacation into a once in a life time experience (Don). The
attention in detail that Walt put into the park makes it seem almost magical to many. An example of
the details of Disney World would be their rides. Many parks rides can feature a ton of steel, pipes,
and fences (Albert). Disney makes their rides have a good theme along the way and one can hardly see
any sight of backstage stairs up the roller coaster or fences around the ride (Albert). Everywhere
someone would look not only on the rides there will be pleasing to the eye, funny or fits in with the
theme of the land (Albert).
Still, one can never forget the work it takes everyday to keep Disney World up and going. The Cast

Family Theory
Introduction After reviewing the theories, I have chosen Family System theory to discuss how various
factors may impact at different stages in the family lifecycle in a Singapore context. Family systems
theory grew out of the general systems theory, a conceptual framework developed in the 1960s by
Ludwig von Bertalanffy (1968), and family therapists applied these ideas to marriage and family as a
system. (Olson, 2003, p.71). He proposed that a system is characterized by the interactions of its
components and the nonlinearity of those interactions. In the family cycle context, a family member is

My Budget Variance
The baseline I have set out for my budget worked very well for me in the past month, but this month
there was a large kink in it. There were just a couple different kinds of variances I met when adding up
the totals of my real spending this month. When I was analyzing my budget, I went through and
determined if the budget variances I had were good or bad for my needs. Most of my budget variances
were positive except for one major one. What I mean by this is a good budget variance signified to me
an outcome that was better than I expected. This one large bad budget variance I had consisted within
my doctor s expenses budget. The reason I had such a large variance of almost one thousand one
hundred dollars within my doctor s expenses is because I had to have surgery on my shoulder, and that
was the amount of the co pay. Within my budget I set an amount for my gas, clothing, and dining out,
but it varies from month to month. For ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The one way my budget allowed me to pay for the unexpected outcome was because of the variances,
savings, and emergency fund I had. Although I went under the set amount in my budget in several
different categories it was not enough to cover my unexpected expense of surgery. This resulted in
having to use those separate accounts of savings and emergency funds to compensate for the
unexpected expenses rather than going into debt further. Along with this I was unable to save ten
percent of my budget this month because as I expressed above all off my existing savings and
emergency fund went towards the procedure I had to have done. This was extremely disappointing
because for as long as I can remember I have been religious about depositing at least ten percent into
my savings no matter what, but as I was analyzing my situation this was the only way to make it

Sing A Musical Analysis
Is Sing a Classic?
What makes a classic movie, a classic? Some people may say it is the actors or actresses in the movie,
the directors, or the setting. Although all of these components are important in a movie, they do not
make the movie a classic. A classic movie is all about connection the movie makes with its audience.
The more emotion the movie can draw from its viewers, the more the viewers can connect with the
movie. Having a good plot and story is a must to consider a movie to be a classic. A classic movie also
needs to be memorable to the audience. With a classic it is all about the lasting impression on its
viewers (Weeks par. 5). The new 2016 movie, Sing, meets all the requirements to be a classic. Sing is
an animated musical comedy directed by Garth Jennings and Christophe Lourdelet. Sing is rated PG,
and has won the Top Box Office Films from ASCAP Film and won Outstanding Music Supervision
from Hollywood Music In Media Awards in 2016 (Awards par. 1). The movie, Sing, is about a Koala
named Buster Moon who hosts a singing contest to help his failing theater business. Sing is a classic
movie that connects with the viewers, has a good story, and is memorable to the viewers.
What is a Classic?
In order for a movie to be considered a classic, a movie must possess three components. The movies
success is based on the audience, it is the audience that make the movie (Weeks par. 5). Movie critic

Food is both biological and social fuel. Consuming food not just enables energy, but tells a lot about
human s identity. In the context of migration, cooking becomes a particularly significant process. All
the migrants belong to certain ethnic groups, membership of which they express through food choices.
This concept is broadly discussed in the memoir Me in Place, and the Place in Me by Parvathi Raman.
Raman tells about her migration from India to the UK. In this regard, she recalls how her mother
learnt to cook in the new country. Even though they made a decision not to prepare English dishes,
some foreign foods entered their diet. She describes the culinary experience, which involved the

Essay On Cement Industry

History Introduction
Growth of cement industry is rightly considered a barometer for economic activity. In 1947, Pakistan
had inherited 4 cement plants with a total capacity of 0.5 million tons. Some expansion took place in
1956 66 but could not keep pace with the economic development and the country had to resort to
imports of cement in 1976 77 and continued to do so till 1994 95. The industry was privatized in 1990
which led to setting up of new plants. Although an oligopoly market, there exists fierce competition
between members of the cartel today.

However, this growth is magnified, as FY2007 08 was an abnormally low profit period for the sector.
Moreover, the performance is skewed towards large players with export potential as profitable
companies in both years posted increase of just 109 percent, said analyst at JS Research Atif Zafar.
He said that cumulative profitability of companies in FY09 stood at Rs 6.2 billion or $78.2 million as
compared to Rs 386 million or $6.2 million depicting a massive growth of 1,492 percent. Companies
with profits in both the years posted 109 percent earnings improvement.
Though total dispatches were down 2 percent, net sales grew by 55 percent to Rs 101.4 billion or $1.3
billion on the back of higher net retention prices (up 59 percent) and improved export based revenues.
Cost of sales/tonne also rose by 33 percent on yearly basis amid higher realised coal prices and
inflationary pressures, the analyst maintained.
Production Capacity
In Pakistan, there are 29 cement manufacturers that are playing a vital role in the building up the
country s economy and contribution towards growth and prosperity. After 2002 3, most of the cement
manufacturers expanded their operations, and increased production. This sector has invested about
$1.5 billion in capacity expansion over the last six years.

tons by 2005 06 and by end of 2007 rose to above 37 million

and his expertise with export and import documentation and ordering procedures will come in handy

involved in this situation to resolve the differences between Mr. Olano and the production managers.
Unifying the two parties is crucial in solving Kami s problems. Human ResourcesTo start with, Mrs.
Lee should visit the plant to formally introduce Mr. Olano to the rest of the company and emphasize
her reasons in choosing him as the General Manager. She should also highlight Mr. Olano s skills and
capabilities and explain thoroughly why she thinks he is competent enough to direct the company. It
should be done in a way that is not insulting to the more experienced production managers but in a
manner that would help them respect Mr. Olano s competence and her decision to hire him. It is also
important that Mr. Olano s weakness in production should be supplemented with benchmarking and
orientation in similar production companies (local or overseas) so he would have an excellent idea of
the best practices that should be implemented in Kami. There should be an exposure to Aiwa s best
performing plants so that he could understand the entire

Smog is a kind of air pollution; the word smog is a portmanteau of smoke and fog. Classic smog
results from large amounts of coal burning in an area caused by a mixture of smoke and sulfur
dioxide. Modern smog does not usually come from coal but from vehicular and industrial emissions
that are acted on in the atmosphere by ultraviolet light from the sun to form secondary pollutants that
also combine with the primary emissions to form photochemical smog.
 Ground level ozone (O3) formed from NOx and VOCs. Ozone (O3) is a key constituent of the
troposphere (it is also an important constituent of certain regions of the stratosphere commonly known
as the Ozone layer). Photochemical and chemical reactions involving it drive many of the chemical
processes that occur in the atmosphere by day and by night. At abnormally high concentrations
brought about by human activities (largely the combustion of fossil fuel), it is a pollutant, and a
constituent of smog.
 Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) similarly formed from NOx and VOCs.
Minor air pollutants include:
 A large number of minor hazardous air pollutants. Some of these are regulated in USA under the
Clean Air Act and in Europe under the Air Framework Directive.
 A variety of persistent organic pollutants, which can attach to particulate matter.

Foreshadowing In The Demon Lover
Many people read for some sort emotion the words invoke. Whether it is joy, sadness, fear, or
anticipation, readers love being able to feel the emotions the characters feel without actually going
through the same experiences. This is especially true for horror and suspense stories. Elizabeth Bowen
s short story The Demon Lover is able to invoke a lot of emotion through different literary elements,
which is why it is so popular. Elements such as point of view, suspense, and foreshadowing really put
the readers on the edge of their seats.
The point of view of The Demon Lover plays a very important role in the emotional rollercoaster the
reader takes with Mrs. Drover. The third person omniscient point of view is where the narrator
describes both the actions and feelings of one character. In this case the character is Mrs. Dover. The
story states,
The staircase window having been boarded up, no light came down into the hall. But one door, she

How Does Thomas Hobbes Use Fear In The Leviathan
In Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes defines fear as aversion with opinion of hurt from the object (30). This
aversion that humans experience plays a fundamental role in Hobbes understanding of humanity and
society. More specifically, in the state of nature the fear of death sustains a constant state of war that
motivates men to seek peace under a common power called the Leviathan. However, the function of
fear in the Leviathan differs from its function in the state of nature, in that men in the Leviathan
maintain peace not only out of fear of other men, but also out of fear of the common power. This
understanding of fear mirrors Machiavelli s as outlined in The Prince, in which Machiavelli contends
that leaders should use fear to secure their subjects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason for this discrepancy is that desire for power and fear of death balance each other out in the
Leviathan. More precisely, Hobbes describes men as having a perpetual and restless desire of power
after power, that ceaseth only in death and a fear of oppression that disposes them to seek aid by
society because there is no other way by which a man can secure his life and liberty (58 59). Hobbes
illustrates how in men, the desire for power and the fear of death are in a tug of war contest, and men
ultimately find the most benefit within the Leviathan. The Leviathan acquires power because the fear
of death authorizes it to, since the Leviathan controls the life and liberty of the people (127). Hobbes
elaborates that men who choose their sovereign do it for fear of one another and that they subject
themselves to him they are afraid of (127). Essentially, Hobbes postulates that the fear of the state of
nature, in which men live in constant war, has a stronger influence upon men than does the fear of the
Leviathan. The Leviathan keeps all men in awe, and they subject themselves to even the most
tyrannical dictator in exchange for removal from the state of nature. Therefore, fear in the Leviathan
compels men to obey their sovereign in order to remain within the realm of

Octavian could then concentrate his efforts on moving against Marc Antony, for total control of the

Antony. Consequently, Antony and Cleopatra (Anotny s wife) commit suicide. With the victory at the
Battle of Actium, Octavian was now sole ruler of Rome and all its provinces.
Upon the defeat and death of Antony, Octavian proclaimed the restoration of the Republic of Rome.
However, he had no intention of stepping down as leader. In 27 BC Octavian placed the republic at the

Some Readers Have Seen Frankenstein as an Illustration of...
The 19th century was a time of enlightenment where philosophical thought began and man s concern
for a greater psychological form developed. However, during this time of enlightenment and
exploration, the values of religion and ethical thought challenged science and its moral reasoning.
Frankenstein could be seen as an illustration of the fear of the power of science due to these social
changes; however there is evidence within the text to support other aspects such as society and
religion being the focal point of fear.
On a basic level, it could be argued that Victor s search for knowledge ultimately leads him to his
transgressions and eventual demise; through the medium of science he is able to create a creature that
is fearful and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, although Victor uses science and his character is obsessed with the search for knowledge, it
could be argued that Shelley deliberately leaves out specific scientific references to leave the readers
wondering if it is science that creates the monster, or if there is more of a supernatural, Gothic
interpretation of how the monster came to live.
Comparatively, some readers could believe that Frankenstein illustrates the fear of the power of
religion. Victor s creation of the monster is ultimately a transgression, defiling morality and arguably
giving him ultimate power over life and death. The idea alone is fear inducing, but further still is the
way in which Victor goes about this achievement. He is emotionally detached from the bodies he is
digging out of graves and mutilating a churchyard was to me merely the receptacle of bodies deprived
of life , sparing no thought of the unspoken moral codes of humanity. There are also the interesting
parallels of John Milton s Paradise Lost; the Monster finds the book and interprets it literally I read
it... as a true history ; as many Christians interpret the Bible literally; this could represent the fear of
the power of religion, as it suggests that people who take religious teachings absolutely literally are
dangerous because they have no logical reasoning, as the monster does not. Furthermore, the monster
compares Victor to God, as he has created him and thusly

The Pros And Cons Of The Plain Teght Doctrine
The plain view doctrine is an exception to the search warrant requirements that allows police officers
to seize evidence, without a search warrant, that they recognize as contraband or used in a criminal
activity that is seen in plain view without having to enter the property or perform a search. In addition,
a corollary to the plain sight doctrine is the plain smell doctrine, that allows if an officer smells
evidence (e.g. marijuana), the officer meets the probable cause requirement to initiate a warrantless
search (Lemons, n.d.). For example, an officer pulls over to assist a stranded motorist and observes in
the front console of the vehicle a large bag of pills. This meets the probable cause requirement for the
officer to perform a search of the vehicle. There are three main requirements which must be satisfied
in order for the plain sight exception to be valid. Based on Horton v. California, 496 U.S. 128 (1990)
the first requirement is the police officer must have a lawful presence in the area where the evidence
was observed, which does not violate the Fourth Amendment constitutional guaranty. The second
requirement is the officer must be able to observe the evidence by plain view or smell. Finally, the
third requirement is the officer must immediately recognize the evidence or contraband, which was
accidental or inadvertent, without making any further intrusion (Ryan, 2017). When evidence is found
initially during or a s consequence of an illegal search or

The Fair Value Model
The provision is enforced by opinion 25 that denotes the need to include various aspects such as net
income and compensation costs. Through the use of the fair value model, the company is able to have
a transparent structure that enhances the commitment of the stakeholders and workers. Therefore, the
principles emphasize the pro forma values and integration of various market performances to reflect in
the final financial report. Compliance with the regulations gives the business a wide breadth of ideas
that improve financial stability.

Requirements for lease reporting under GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards
(IFRS).
Lease reporting regulations are contained in the GAAP FAS 13 and IFRS, IAS 17. The primary
differences entail the regulations on the leveraged assets, discount rates awarded to the lessee,
leaseback transactions under capital leases and operating leases as well as the profit or losses (Ashok,
2014). Therefore, a company should explore the options to come up with a workable and convenient
plan corresponds to the strategic management objectives. Taking into consideration the prevailing
circumstances, the CFO should instigate a comprehensive lease policy that to guide decisions in lease
assets and the effect of such in the company portfolio. The principal aim should avoid circumstances
that can lead to the negative listing.
Therefore, the CFO and the CEO should perform Risk Weighted Receivable and record the
information in the financial reporting. Avoiding similar incidences in future require securitization and
proper accounting based on the transactions of the firm. In addition, the CFO should take note of the
contractual debts of assets such as commercial mortgages, car loans and residential loans from the
originator to minimize

Moving To Springfield Analysis
Assuming that hundreds of former city dwellers do indeed move to Springfield every year, then it is
plausible that the author is correct in that these city dwellers do appreciate Springfield because it has a
rural setting an small town atmosphere . However, the author presents no proof concerning that this is
truly the rationale behind city dwellers move to Springfield. As such, their suggestion that aggressive
planning regulations should be implemented is hogwash because it is based upon a potentially untrue
premise. Additionally, the majority of residents in Springfield may not even want more newcomers to
move in, which further suggests that the author lacks sufficient data to make any sort of suggestion.
The main flaw in the author s argument is the failure to include any sort of evidence or proof
indicating the new Springfield residents reasons for moving to Springfield. The rationale indicated by
the author is plausible, but plenty of other reasons abound concerning why city dwellers would move
to the more rural Springfield. For instance, the cost of living could be cheaper in Springfield and the
new residents may actually think Springfield is a worse location to live in than the city. In addition,
Springfield may have more pristine schools, libraries, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, because the author has no idea why new residents actually move to Springfield, these
residents could actually be moving to Springfield in spite of its rural setting and small town
atmosphere , perhaps due to cheaper rents or better public amenities as discussed earlier. If this is the
case, then removing the establishments enumerated by the author could actually have the opposite
effect the author intended: less new residents would move to

The base was obtained by the Navy in June 1943 as a training base for amphibious warfare. That was its purpose throughout the war. The training base became known as the home of the Alligator Navy . This is because of all the types of amphibious landing vehicles called alligators . The base was taken over by the Navy after the war. The facility was active throughout the Cold War as well. Comparing James Eads How And Mary Shelley s Frankenstein With a first glance, an article of a man who, although he s rich, poses as a hobo and a novel about a mad scientist who s creation goes astray may not seem to have much in common. In many ways, James Eads How and Victor Frankenstein from Mary Shelley s Frankenstein are quite different. James Eads How gave up his riches to live a poor, but humble life. How was a real man that lived in the early 20th century. His story was widely popular, and writer and illustrator Tim Lane, recently made a comic about How s adventure called The Millionaire Who Lived as a Hobo and published it on the Riverfront Times, a news and culture website. Jeranism claims that the Earth is flat, and anyone who sides with those beliefs either works for the CIA or is paid by some other association with an alternative agenda. Is the Earth actually flat? Could the spherical globe we all spun in classrooms be the biggest sham ever? Probably not, but the video brings up a few interesting questions. Are NASA and the Government Lying? Well, it is tough to say, since the majority of us have yet to travel off the planet on a SpaceX mission to Mars. The YouTube video shares a few flat earther points of view. One major point flat earthers make is the relevance to the human senses. Many flat earthers believe that the Earth being flat simply makes more sense. The Public School System Of Education The public school system of education in the United States of America needs to change for many different reason, we not only need for our schools to change we need it to be done as soon as possible. We live in a society where our children are failing to meet the academic standards or enhanced their social skills to be prepared for the outside world. My second reason for our schools to change is that they are overcrowded for insists one teacher in one classroom can teach up to 15 to 20 kids. My last reason is the budget for our schools, we are losing funding for many different things raging from materials to creative classes. Besides parents themselves teachers are extremely important because they are the key to our children s education future. Madeline Levine said ( One thing we know for sure is that kids learn better when teachers are invested and paying attention and showing they care. ) Which is very true, you see without teachers our kids would be sitting ducks however, it is also up to us the parents to teach our kids as John Hood said in his article ( Providing students opportunities at school does not guarantee success if student watch television rather than do their homework and parents let them. ) We as the parents and teachers need some type of communication and understanding because our children are failing, some are struggle to meet the academic standards. It was a close battle against Johny Hendricks, after which he won by decision and promptly stepped away from the UFC. There have been moments where fans thought they might see his return, but none of those were as real as challenging Bisping for the title. There were many rumors circulating about his delay from returning, but the only person who really has the answers is St Pierre himself. St Pierre won 12 straight fights from 2007 to 2013, a time in which he absolutely ruled the welterweight division. The only two losses on his record, to Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, he avenged in convincing fashion. Aside Hughes and Serra, the 36 year old has defeated high profile names such as Nick Diaz, BJ Penn and Carlos Condit. How he will perform after a four year layoff against a bigger fighter at a heavier weight is the biggest question. • 11. Primary Objective Of Starting A Business Essay The primary objective of starting a business is to gain customers, and it is the most crucial part in the success of running a business. In order to thrive into today s economy business entities across the globe use marketing as a tool for gaining new customers and retaining the existing ones (Wood, 2008). Thus, marketing remains to be the main backbone of new and existing businesses successes. Apparently, there are several basic concepts of marketing, which are commonly used by numerous marketers of goods and services. These marketing concepts comprise of the sellers, consumers, the product development, the market research, product positioning, the product image, the product concept, and the brand loyalty. These concepts combined with the marketing boundaries help in determining the consumer behaviour of the product under marketing. It is important to state that the marketing concepts dictate that the success of a firm often depends on the marketing efforts that a company employs (Wood,2008) The concepts also dictate that the successes of a company will depend with how it delivers a better value proposition compared to its competitors. Thus, it is appropriate for the stakeholders of a given business entity to understand that that effective marketing drive consumers into the company. • 13. Mary Wollstonecraft And Virginia Woolf Throughout all of history women have put up a brave fight to have their rights. Many women use authorship as a way to fight against discrimination and public stigmas. Three such women are Mary Wollstonecraft, Jane Austen, and Virginia Woolf. Each of these brave women writes about the need for a change in society, but each authoress has a different style and sometimes even a different view of what needs to change, for a woman to gain her independence. Mary Wollstonecraft has a very bold style and feels that education is what separates women from men. When she writes she is bold but not without tact. In A Vindication of the rights of Women She wisely states that A degree of physical superiority cannot...be denied . While this statement may not be true in all respects today, it stirs up a common ground for the opposing argument to stand on. • 14. Analysis Of Soltice And Ransom By Tracy K. Smith In her collection of poetry Life on Mars, Tracy K. Smith brings real world problems into focus with Solstice and Ransom . The main idea in Solstice is the geese that forced the Hudson River plane crash in New York, while Smith writes of the Somalian pirates and sea pollution in Ransom . However, these are just the literal meanings behind the two poems that have deeper meanings relating to the state of the world and how humans are playing a role in it, politically and physically. There is a constant struggle in the poems Solstice and Ransom that where there is always an underdog, whether it be protesters attempting to make a change or Somalian pirates fighting back because their fishing waters have been corrupted. A main connection between these poems include their connection to the time period that Tracy K. Smith s father passed away towards the end of 2008. Because of how emotional and tragic this time period was to Smith, she holds onto the shreds of hope she had during that time, including two major events portrayed in the poems. The literal meaning behind the poem Solstice is the geese that caused flights to be disrupted at the JFK airport. These geese also flew into pilot Chesley Sully Sullenberger and killed all engine power, making him perform a miracle crash landing into the Hudson river. • 17. Analytic Functionalism As A Philosophy Of The Mind Michael Lock Professor Davis PHIL 110000 28 April 2015 Analytic Functionalism as a Philosophy of the Mind In an attempt to bridge the gaps between the philosophy of behaviorism and the identity theory, I have determined that functionalism presents us with the best solution. Although there are several concerns to the methodic explanation of mental states, I believe that analytic functionalism is a credible model that describes the mind. Analytic functionalism establishes an ontological method that provides more acceptable ways to describe and characterize the mind. I will contend my point by first explaining the evolution into functionalism, specifically analytic functionalism. I will then explain one of the most prominent objections, the Chinese Room argument by John Searle. Beyond this argument, I will offer my rebuttals for these assertions and stipulate reasoning for analytical functionalism s rational reliability as a suitable philosophy of the mind. With the decline of behaviorism, the identity theory, or type physicalism, gained popularity within the philosophic community. J.J.C. Smart, also aiming to work reductively to shrink mental states to an uncomplicated classification, introduced the stance that identity theorists began to agree with. This was the theory that physical brain states could be simply equated with mental states. For example, the mental state of pain could be associated with the firing of the localized c fibers region of the brain. What this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everything besides the fact he himself is a res cogitans (thinking thing). He puts forth this idea in his second meditation of his most famous works, Meditations On First Philosophy, published in 1641. This analytic style of writing opens by considering any belief that was the slightest bit doubtful, as false. Descartes felt the need for this hyperbolic doubt in order to reach an impartial truth. He then takes you through the thought process that led him to the one thing that lies beyond all doubt. He finds certainty in the statement Cogito, ergo sum or I think, therefore I am. (1998, p. 179), Chronic sorrow is described as ...the periodic recurrence of permanent, pervasive sadness or other grief related feelings associated with a significant loss. Parents may feel psychological emotions such as frustration and helplessness in relationship to burden of care and developmental delays. It is imperative as nurses to educate families and provide the tools necessary to ensure the best possible outcome for both the patient and the caregiver(s). Although all of these components are important in a movie, they do not make the movie a classic. A classic movie is all about connection the movie makes with its audience. The more emotion the movie can draw from its viewers, the more the viewers can connect with the movie. Having a good plot and story is a must to consider a movie to be a classic. A classic movie also needs to be memorable to the audience. With a classic it is all about the lasting impression on its viewers (Weeks par. 5). The new 2016 movie, Sing, meets all the requirements to be a classic. Sing is an animated musical comedy directed by Garth Jennings and Christophe Lourdelet. It should be done in a way that is not insulting to the more experienced production managers but in a manner that would help them respect Mr. Olano s competence and her decision to hire him. It is also important that Mr. Olano s weakness in production should be supplemented with benchmarking and orientation in similar production companies (local or overseas) so he would have an excellent idea of the best practices that should be implemented in Kami. Stratospheric ozone depletiondue to air pollution has long been recognized as a threat to human health as well as to the Earth s ecosystems. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Smog is a kind of air pollution; the word smog is a portmanteau of smoke and fog. Classic smog results from large amounts of coal burning in an area caused by a mixture of smoke and sulfur dioxide. Modern smog does not usually come from coal but from vehicular and industrial emissions that are acted on in the atmosphere by ultraviolet light from the sun to form secondary pollutants that also combine with the primary emissions to form photochemical smog.  Ground level ozone (O3) formed from NOx and VOCs. Ozone (O3) is a key constituent of the troposphere (it is also an important constituent of certain regions of the stratosphere commonly known as the Ozone layer). Photochemical and chemical reactions involving it drive many of the chemical processes that occur in the atmosphere by day and by night. At abnormally high concentrations brought about by human activities (largely the combustion of fossil fuel), it is a pollutant, and a constituent of smog.  Peroxyacetyl nitrate (PAN) similarly formed from NOx and VOCs. Minor air pollutants include:  A large number of minor hazardous air pollutants. Some of these are regulated in USA under the Clean Air Act and in Europe under the Air Framework Directive.  A variety of persistent organic pollutants, which can attach to particulate matter. Whether it is joy, sadness, fear, or anticipation, readers love being able to feel the emotions the characters feel without actually going through the same experiences. This is especially true for horror and suspense stories. Elizabeth Bowen s short story The Demon Lover is able to invoke a lot of emotion through different literary elements, which is why it is so popular. Elements such as point of view, suspense, and foreshadowing really put the readers on the edge of their seats. The point of view of The Demon Lover plays a very important role in the emotional rollercoaster the reader takes with Mrs. Drover. The third person omniscient point of view is where the narrator describes both the actions and feelings of one character. In this case the character is Mrs. Dover. The story states, The staircase window having been boarded up, no light came down into the hall. • 38. How Does Thomas Hobbes Use Fear In The Leviathan In Leviathan, Thomas Hobbes defines fear as aversion with opinion of hurt from the object (30). This aversion that humans experience plays a fundamental role in Hobbes understanding of humanity and society. More specifically, in the state of nature the fear of death sustains a constant state of war that motivates men to seek peace under a common power called the Leviathan. However, the function of fear in the Leviathan differs from its function in the state of nature, in that men in the Leviathan maintain peace not only out of fear of other men, but also out of fear of the common power. This understanding of fear mirrors Machiavelli s as outlined in The Prince, in which Machiavelli contends that leaders should use fear to secure their subjects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for this discrepancy is that desire for power and fear of death balance each other out in the Leviathan. More precisely, Hobbes describes men as having a perpetual and restless desire of power after power, that ceaseth only in death and a fear of oppression that disposes them to seek aid by society because there is no other way by which a man can secure his life and liberty (58 59). Hobbes illustrates how in men, the desire for power and the fear of death are in a tug of war contest, and men ultimately find the most benefit within the Leviathan. The Leviathan acquires power because the fear of death authorizes it to, since the Leviathan controls the life and liberty of the people (127). Hobbes elaborates that men who choose their sovereign do it for fear of one another and that they subject themselves to him they are afraid of (127). Essentially, Hobbes postulates that the fear of the state of nature, in which men live in constant war, has a stronger influence upon men than does the fear of the Leviathan. The Leviathan keeps all men in awe, and they subject themselves to even the most tyrannical dictator in exchange for removal from the state of nature. Therefore, fear in the Leviathan compels men to obey their sovereign in order to remain within the realm of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The 19th century was a time of enlightenment where philosophical thought began and man s concern for a greater psychological form developed. However, during this time of enlightenment and exploration, the values of religion and ethical thought challenged science and its moral reasoning. Frankenstein could be seen as an illustration of the fear of the power of science due to these social changes; however there is evidence within the text to support other aspects such as society and religion being the focal point of fear. On a basic level, it could be argued that Victor s search for knowledge ultimately leads him to his transgressions and eventual demise; through the medium of science he is able to create a creature that is fearful and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, although Victor uses science and his character is obsessed with the search for knowledge, it could be argued that Shelley deliberately leaves out specific scientific references to leave the readers wondering if it is science that creates the monster, or if there is more of a supernatural, Gothic interpretation of how the monster came to live. Comparatively, some readers could believe that Frankenstein illustrates the fear of the power of religion. Victor s creation of the monster is ultimately a transgression, defiling morality and arguably giving him ultimate power over life and death. The idea alone is fear inducing, but further still is the way in which Victor goes about this achievement. He is emotionally detached from the bodies he is digging out of graves and mutilating a churchyard was to me merely the receptacle of bodies deprived of life , sparing no thought of the unspoken moral codes of humanity. There are also the interesting parallels of John Milton s Paradise Lost; the Monster finds the book and interprets it literally I read it... as a true history ; as many Christians interpret the Bible literally; this could represent the fear of the power of religion, as it suggests that people who take religious teachings absolutely literally are dangerous because they have no logical reasoning, as the monster does not. • 42. The Pros And Cons Of The Plain Teght Doctrine The plain view doctrine is an exception to the search warrant requirements that allows police officers to seize evidence, without a search warrant, that they recognize as contraband or used in a criminal activity that is seen in plain view without having to enter the property or perform a search. In addition, a corollary to the plain sight doctrine is the plain smell doctrine, that allows if an officer smells evidence (e.g. marijuana), the officer meets the probable cause requirement to initiate a warrantless search (Lemons, n.d.). For example, an officer pulls over to assist a stranded motorist and observes in the front console of the vehicle a large bag of pills. This meets the probable cause requirement for the officer to perform a search of the vehicle. There are three main requirements which must be satisfied in order for the plain sight exception to be valid. Based on Horton v. California, 496 U.S. 128 (1990) the first requirement is the police officer must have a lawful presence in the area where the evidence was observed, which does not violate the Fourth Amendment constitutional guaranty. The second requirement is the officer must be able to observe the evidence by plain view or smell. Finally, the third requirement is the officer must immediately recognize the evidence or contraband, which was accidental or inadvertent, without making any further intrusion (Ryan, 2017). Moving To Springfield Analysis Assuming that hundreds of former city dwellers do indeed move to Springfield every year, then it is plausible that the author is correct in that these city dwellers do appreciate Springfield because it has a rural setting an small town atmosphere . However, the author presents no proof concerning that this is truly the rationale behind city dwellers move to Springfield. As such, their suggestion that aggressive planning regulations should be implemented is hogwash because it is based upon a potentially untrue premise. Additionally, the majority of residents in Springfield may not even want more newcomers to move in, which further suggests that the author lacks sufficient data to make any sort of suggestion. The main flaw in the author s argument is the failure to include any sort of evidence or proof indicating the new Springfield residents reasons for moving to Springfield. The rationale indicated by the author is plausible, but plenty of other reasons abound concerning why city dwellers would move to the more rural Springfield.
