Alice In Wonderland Critical Analysis
Have you ever read a book, and felt that their was a different meaning? When the classic fairy tale
Alice in Wonderland is analyzed from the critical viewpoint of feminism, readers may discover some
very interesting and remarkable surprises. In this book, there are parts where Alice is being treated
poorly by men. Also the story suggest that women are irrational, emotional, and loud. Mainly showing
that they can t be relied on to do some of the tasks that the men do. However most of the men in the
story seem to act in a more rational way than the woman do. In similar fashion this story also
identifies women as gullible, and stupid, people who are incapable of going through a thought process.
Now I shall elaborate on each of these points, showing how this story can be viewed from a feminist
point of view. It s evident that, Alice is treated as poorly by some of the men in different parts of the
story. During the tea party scene in Alice in Wonderland , Alice approached the table that the men
were having tea at. As soon as they saw her coming, they automatically said that there was no room
for her at the table. Obviously, Alice could see that the table was not full, in fact there were many seats
around the table. Although the men knew this, they decided to tell Alice that there was no room at the
table. Perhaps they were trying to deter her from sitting at the table, by making her feel as though she
is unwelcome. After that, Alice proceeds to sit at the table, and the Hatter asks Alice to figure out the
answer to a riddle. The riddle was Why is a raven like a writing desk? Alice attempts to figure out the
answer, but to no avail. When it s time for Alice to answer, she tells the Hatter that she gives up on
trying to figure it out. She then proceeds to ask what the answer to the riddle is, and the Hatter says
that he has no clue what the answer to the riddle is. He made Alice think long and hard about the
answer to the riddle, that seemed to not have an answer. The Hatter knew that there was no answer to
the riddle, and yet he made Alice try to figure it out. I can conclude that the Hatter only asked Alice
the question to serve as entertainment, and to belittle her intelligence. In addition, one of the

The Black Panther Party Formed
The Black Panther Party formed as a result of Black Nationalism which came from a multitude of
events that began to form decades before any mention of The Black Panther Party. To even begin to
understand a group such as this, one must first attempt to grasp the historical context which lies
behind them. Blake (1969) asserts that the initial onset began back in 1619 when the first of the
colonial settlers accepted a number of captured Africans which were to be used as servants leading to
the period of slavery which serves as a sore spot in this country s history. One of the primary streams
of thought behind this idea of Black Nationalism can be summed up as the hypocrisy felt by African
Americans during the era of slavery as well as after it s end. These are a race of people characterized
by their looks and were not given the same rights within the society, yet at the same time, were
expected to meet the standards of regular citizens within the country creating that sense of inferiority.
Emanating from this complex was the earliest form of Black Nationalism during the nineteenth
century in which blacks wanted to separate themselves from America (Essien Udom, 1962). This was
a period known as Classical Black Nationalism, where the objective, as stated previously, was the
foundation of a sovereign state. With the unequal treatment occurring within the United States, the
earliest forms of this type of nationalism could be seen in the early slave revolts. Goals of

The Problem Of Juvenile Delinquency
Stephanie R. Hawkins, Philip w. Graham, Jason Williams, and Margaret A. Zahn provide us with a
cornucopia of information pertaining to Resilient Girls on the Girls Study Group. In the year 2004
girls made up thirty percent of all juvenile arrest. However, the question still remains whether it is an
increase in juvenile delinquency or society s response to girl s behavior. In order to find out the
answers to these questions the office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency prevention created the Girls
Study Group. To fight the statistics and improve the lives of girls in danger of juvenile delinquency.
Resiliency is the power to be able to deal with a tremendous amount of stress and negative situations.
Resiliency plays key role in the prevention and intervention of programs out there. Scientists to this
day still have not figured out why some kids may be resilient and not others. In the end certain factors
may or may not have the same impact on others concerning gender. This reading provides you with
some Intel that has been discovered in research to suggest why some girls may be protected from
delinquency.
Resiliency is best defined as human s ability to be able to adapt and learn in a negative atmosphere.
Situations that they might survive may be being abused or neglected, witnessing violence, or living in
poverty that could in the end lead them a life in delinquency. The majority of research today, focuses
on the negative factors that contributed to making people

Forshadowings And Mood In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst
Have you ever despised your sibling/s at one point, but later started to appreciate them in your life? In
James Hurst s short novel, The Scarlet Ibis, Doodle is a disabled child and the narrator is his brother,
who despises him. The narrator, known as Brother, wanted to murder Doodle due to his disability, but
learns that Doodle is not much of a burden. He sets out to teach Doodle abilities that he could never do
before, but instead, he pressures him too far and ends up leading him to his tragic death. Thus, in The
Scarlet Ibis, Hurst uses diction, symbolism, foreshadowing, and similes to establish a horrifying mood
during the coffin scene part of the story, a melancholic mood during the death of the scarlet ibis, and a
dreary mood during the death of Doodle part of the story.
In the scene of the scarlet ibis s death, Hurst establishes a melancholic mood throughout the section.
As the scarlet ibis falls from the bleeding tree to its death, Doodle observes that the bird was still (10).
The stillness of the ibis heightens the melancholic mood in the scene, as readers might imagine a time
where they witnessed a death and felt a sense of sadness, thus creating a melancholic mood in the
section. Additionally, as the author compares the dead scarlet ibis and a broken vase, he states, for it
lay on the earth like a broken vase of red flowers (10). As the author distinguishes the similarities
between the scarlet ibis and the broken vase, it highlights how the ibis is

The And Middle Income Countries Universal Health Coverage
In low and middle income countries universal health coverage is achievable. Discuss.
Universal health coverage (UHC) has become a global health priority for both rich and poor countries
alike, and many key medical and health institutions such as the World Health Organization (WHO)
and the World Bank have voiced their commitment in the movement toward attaining this goal. WHO
Director General Margaret Chan has stated that UHC is the single most powerful concept that public
health has to offer , as it has the potential not only to directly improve population health, but also to
stimulate economic and social development of individuals, communities and countries.

Achieving UHC in LMICs is an immense challenge due to various social, cultural, political,
environmental and economic factors; many of these factors are exactly what kept these countries in a
low and middle income status to begin with. While Rwanda and Thailand s drive toward UHC has
shown incredible promise and success as I will describe in this paper, their processes were quite
different, demonstrating that UHC is not a cut and paste process. Each approach must ultimately
reflect that country s unique history, culture and legacy from existing health systems.
Let us first examine the definition and the three properties of UHC, as defined by the WHO (Panel 2).
The first objective states equity in access to health services namely, that access should be on a basis of
need, and not on the basis of the ability to pay. The second objective states that the quality of health
care provided should be good enough to improve health. The third objective states the importance of
financial risk protection.
What do these objectives mean, and how do we know that these goals have been met, thereby
reflecting successful achievement of UHC in LMICs? In examining the three objectives in

Identity and Culture Essay
Every person, or group of people, has an identity and a culture. An identity is the image that one
project out into the rest of the world, and culture is the image which one has of themselves. Countries
are no exception; every country over their course of history has created an identity and culture for
themselves. It has been said that the worst act one could perform on another would be to strip them of
their identity, and deny them of their culture. This is why, in order for a country to become a great
nation, their culture and identity must be formed so that it is able to strive. History and the changes
made to history are two of the main things that could create the identity and culture of a country. The

Compatibilism Essays
There are 3 basic views that can be taken on the view of determinism, (1) deny its reality, either
because of the existence of free will or on independent grounds; (2) accept its reality but argue for its
compatibility with free will; or (3) accept its reality and deny its compatibility with free will.In this
paper I am going to be defending the view compatibilism, specifically W. T. Stace s view of
compatibilism.
Compatibilism is the idea that determinism is true, every event in the world is caused, and that free
will still exists. Stace defends this view by saying the problem is the definition of free will. The
current definition of what free will is a completely and wholly uncaused action. However this
obviously would be completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are a few criticisms that are brought up against this compatibles view; in fact Stace brings up
possible objections himself. The first that I will consider is that there are some cases that are
borderline. For example, if somebody has a gun and puts it to your head and commands you to do
something it seems that you would have to do it even though the person with the gun is not physically
forcing you to do it. However I do not believe this to be a borderline case at all, even if someone is
holding a gun to your head you are still making the decision to do whatever it is that they are telling
you to do. It is still of your own mental state that you will do it out of your own perceived state that
whatever they are asking you to do would be preferable to your own death. The second objection that
he presents is that if you could somehow know that somebody was going to do an action before they
did it (even though this itself is very hard to believe) then how could they have done otherwise.
However I do not understand how this is detrimental to this argument of compatibilism. Obviously if
someone somehow new 100% for sure that you were going to do something then to even ask if the
person could have done otherwise is completely absurd, they obviously would have, as in the first part
of the statement its said that they couldn t. Basically saying that hypothetically you will do an action

The Importance Of My Personal Belief System
In this paper, I will talk about gaining a better understanding of my personal belief system, and how
culture, race, ethnicity, and values influence me in the helping profession. The focal point of exercise
1.1, is to make us understand how important it is to gain a better understanding of our personal beliefs.
I want to personally say, I agree 100% with this philosophy because doing this, will only sweeten our
relationships with our clients. I back this statement up with, believing that one can t manage to help
others, if they physically don t understand who they re yet. It is literally impossible for someone to
have success in this field or any other fields, if they have no clue on what their personal belief system
consists of. Becoming knowledgeable about your personal beliefs will most certainly benefit you, but
it will also benefit your relationship with your clients as well. For example, let s say you re a
counselor and your client is someone who is having withdrawals about an abortion. And you grew up
with the understanding to never get an abortion, abortions aren t acceptable, and etc . Knowing your
beliefs, how would that factor in this process? If it was me, I would actually hear my clients stories,
and reasons why she or her family decided to go through with the abortion, moreover I believe that the
beliefs that you learned as a child can definitely change as you grow older. Saying this, this will
actually result into allowing one to understand their personal

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings poem by Maya Angelou, is similar to the screenplay The Long

Theme Of Identity In Othello
Othello s Identity, Morals, and Acceptance
Othello is perceived as one whom is lost in the novel. Caryl Phillps retells the Shakespeare s Othello.
In Nature of Blood by revisiting Shakespeare s Othello, Phillips focuses on discrimination, identity
and desire of home through interwoven stories. The novel discusses Othello s past and present
situation upon his arrival in Venice. The theme of acceptance is prominent throughout the novel.
Othello s character deteriorates as he struggles with his identity and the notion of home.
Othello is a general in the service of Venice. He is examined in the Shakespeare play as courageous,
noble qualities, trustworthy. It is obvious to feel a degree of sympathy for Othello because he is
considered an other . He is a man that is willing to accept that he is racially different, as he seems to
recognize his status. I tend to sympathize with Othello because he easily influenced, insecure, and a
benevolent heart for Desdemona. Othello relies heavily upon engaging with the Venetian culture and
his identity as the military general. The two stories draw parallel to each other because Othello s

The Horizontal World By Debra Marquart Summary
A State of Trickery: Debra Marquart s Response to the Upper Midwest
Debra Marquart, in The Horizontal World, takes the reader through her life in North Dakota, travelling
all the way back to between the years of 1885 and 1911 when her immigrant, Russian grandparents,
first arrived in America. Marquart, from a more modern point of view, feels like her grandparents were
deceived by a facade that enveloped the Midwest claiming that the area is not as exciting as the media
made it out to be. She uses intense diction to condemn the state, proves the deceitful tendencies of the
North Dakota through juxtaposition, and manipulates the pathos of the reader by triggering sympathy
for the incoming settlers.
Opening the excerpt, Marquart describes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately for Marquart s grandparents, North Dakota was not only disappointing in terms of
vividness, but it is also overvalued by the media. Entertainment describes a kind of false facade in
correspondence with North Dakota. This is a state where directors get their actors to be blond, fresh
faced and midwestern in order to make their descent into ruthless behavior in places like Los Angeles
and New York all the more tragic . Even the people already living there are so monotone that film
writers make characters midwestern for shock value. Because everyone knows how boring the people
are in North Dakota, when characters in entertainment begin to meet their downfall, it is actually seen
as a surprise, as if everyone in North Dakota are idols. By juxtaposing midwestern women with the
adventurous cities of New York and Los Angeles, Marquart successful shows the contrast of the
secluded and undesired area of North Dakota. Marquart shows the difference between the point of
view of Keillor s Lake Wobegon, from A Prairie Home Companion, where all the women are strong,
all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average and the film Fargo, the macabre
land of murder by wood chipper . Although the two stories make North Dakota seem like an attractive,
exciting place, unfortunately, these two tales are just myths nothing more. The real North Dakota

Essay on Women in the Second Industrial Revolution
Women in the Second Industrial Revolution The Second Industrial Revolution had a major impact on
women s lives. After being controlled fro so long women were experiencing what it was like to live an
independent life. In the late nineteenth century women were participating in a variety of experiences,
such as social disabilities confronted by all women, new employment patterns, and working class
poverty and prostitution. These experiences will show how women were perceived in the Second
Industrial Revolution. Women were confronted by many social obligation in the late nineteenth

Also, women generally socialized with one another, it was unheard of for a woman and a man to
socialize unless her husband was with her. The nineteenth century brought about a change in women s
education. Common schools were established in the 1820 s, which started to close the educational gap
between men and women. Eventually, women were able to take over teaching jobs because it dealt
with child nurturing, which was considered to be a female job. On woman who made a difference in
women s rights during the nineteenth century was Susan B. Anthony. In 1872, she felt that women
perceived the government as having no just powers. The Second Industrial Revolution saw an
expansion in the variety of jobs available to women. There was a movement that consisted of women
getting jobs as office clerks and administrative positions while the law still saw them as inferior to
their husdands and fathers. The League of German Women s Associations, was a group of German
women that gave support to all the women in their new careers. The wartime jobs produced lasting
careers and life style changes for women. Some of the jobs they did were telephone operators, factory
workers, seamstresses, and physicians. Most of the women that were hired for these jobs were young
and unmarried because they had fewer obligations to attend. This meant, they could work long hours
with little pay since they did not have a family to provide for. It was

Analysis Of Seven Staircases Of Growth Strategies
Analysis of Seven Staircases to Growth
The distinctive seven staircases of growth strategies have been adopted by many successful
companies, such as Walt Disney, Gillette, Johnson Johnson, Home Depot, and many more. While one
single strategy may not yield a significant growth effect, implementing them concurrently and
consecutively can provide a powerful roadmap for near term and long term growth (Baghai, Coley,
White, 1996). Below is an analysis of Raytheon s seven staircases to continuous growth.
1. Maximizing existing customers:
Raytheon s primary customers are defense, other government, as well as commercial customers in
both domestic and international markets. The principal U.S. government customer includes the DoD,

This is how the customer validates the bidders qualifications, and at the same time it s a mean for the
contractors to influence the customer s award decision. In addition, product demonstration, white

3. Innovation of products and services
Innovation is an important factor to enhance and differentiate Raytheon s offerings from those of the
competitors. The company s success depends on its ability to develop new and innovative products
and technologies in responding to the customer s critical needs. Brown (1991) pointed out that
Innovation can be a powerful method of securing a sustainable competitive advantage in both growing
and mature markets (p. 196). Although technological innovation is the most recognizable type, it s
worth noting that innovation can come from anywhere and anyone in the organization. For Raytheon,
there s an innovation center at every major Raytheon s sites to encourage new and innovative ideas
from any employees, any functions, or grade levels.
4. Innovation of the value delivery system
Generally, the delivery system for government contracts is regulated by the Federal Acquisition
Regulations (FAR), which sets forth policies, procedures and requirements for the acquisition of goods
and services by the U.S. government. During the bidding process, innovation of the value delivery
system is difficult to achieve as the defense contract

The Bell Jar Essay
The Bell Jar
People s lives are shaped through their success and failure in their personal relationships with each
other. The author Sylvia Plath demonstrates this in the novel, The Bell Jar. This is the direct result of
the loss of support from a loved one, the lack of support and encouragement, and lack of self
confidence and insecurity in Esther s life in the The Bell Jar. It was shaped through her success and
failures in her personal relationships between others and herself.
Through life, we often lose someone we loved and cared deeply for and supported us through life.
This is demonstrated by the loss of a loved one when Esther s father died when she was nine. My

In framework and talk, you develop behavior patterns and priorities and define framework in terms
and languages. Esther did all this in her life. But then she forgot who she was. She forgot her
framework of reference and she talks about success and failures and despair.
Individuals, need encouragement and support from loves ones to guide one through life. This is seen
in the lack of support and encouragement displayed when Esther s mother fails to support and
encourage Esther with her aspirations. No matter what Esther had wanted to do with her life, her
Mother had always wanted her to learn the skills of shorthand because she would always have that
skill in her life and also that was the one thing her Mother had experienced in life. As a result, her
Mother failed to enhance Esther with her aspirations that she wanted from life.
We need the sustenance and assurance from not only loved ones in life, but also from others. This is
demonstrated when Jay Cee, Esther s present boss asked Esther what she wanted to do with her life.
Esther did not have any solid idea as to what she wanted to do with her life. You ll never get anywhere
like that. (Sylvia Plath page 27)
Esther did not know what she especially wanted with her life. Jay Cee stated to Esther that not having
an idea of what she wants, will not get her very far because Esther is lacking a few skills.
Consequently, Esther lacked the support and helpfulness from her friend and

The Pros And Cons Of Global Warming
Warming
Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere generally
attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants
(Collins). The current climate changes that are occurring all over the world have sparked a growing
controversy on whether global warming is true or false. Many of these individuals who play a role in
this controversy argue that the current climate changes are simply part of the cycles seen in the earth s
geological history or that it is simply caused by an increase in the brightness of the sun. This point of
view is understandable as humanity is dependent on the climate for survival. However, many
climatologists and scientists have found that the current climate changes are much more worrisome
than previous climate changes. They have found that carbon dioxide (CO2) levels have increased over
the years because of an increase in the use of coal, oil, and gas and that the Earth s current pattern of
warming is greater and faster than that of prehistoric warming episodes.
The first argument many individuals would make against global warming is that the current climate
changes are simply part of the cycles seen in the earth s geological history. Global warming would
easily be proven correct if Earth s temperature had been stable for the majority of its geological
history. However, for over two million years, during the Ice Ages, Earth s temperature rose and fell

Gender and Movie Selection Essay example
Gender and Movie Selection
Introduction:
A very diverse, broad, and extensive industry is the filmmaking industry. However, the unique aspect
of the industry is that it is so expansive in all of the different categories and types of movies, but yet
each film is individualized. A certain characteristic of a movie may appeal to one person and not
another. Such characteristics may not only appeal to an individual but to a certain group of people.
Could it be that characteristics of a film appeal to either the male gender or the female gender? Is there
a difference in the category of movie that a male chooses as opposed to one that a female chooses?
Such questions prove to be very interesting and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the observation, I observed ten males and ten females in the video section of Giant Eagle at
7:00pm on a Friday night. All of the twenty subjects were of college age and appeared to be at the
store alone. I specially looked for the type of movie each person would select. By doing this
observation, I anticipated to see what people really choose. Since the subjects were unaware that I was
watching them, they had no pressure to select a certain type of movie and could chose freely. In other
ways of collecting data such as a survey or interview, people may be reluctant to be honest about some
details. Through observation, there were no doubts if the subject was being dishonest because they
freely chose the movie without even realizing I was watching them.
A second route that I chose to collect data was to administer a survey to ten college age people. Of
these ten people, five of them were females and five of them were males. The survey was given to
these people while they were in their college dorm rooms. There were six questions on the survey,
including a gender question, how many movies does the subject watch in an average month, and what
are these movies classified as, adventure or romance/romantic comedy. The final two questions dealt
with who the subject mostly watches movies with and if they normally get to choose the movie when

The Pregnancy Of The Fetal Heart Rate
As technology progresses, it has become more important in our daily lives. Obstetricians and hospital
s rely on technology more than ever to flag potential problems during pregnancy, labor, and delivery
(1). Continuous recording of the fetal heart rate come into being in the 1970 s and is likely a big
contributor to the increase in Caesarean sections(1). Continuous monitoring allows doctors to make a
decision on what birthing method should be used: natural birth or caesarean. The benefits of natural
birth outweigh the risks of a Caesarean section to mother and baby. Pregnancy occurs when a sperm
and egg unite, this is called conception. A zygote is created, in one week the zygote attaches itself on
the uterine wall, and in two weeks becomes an embryo. Week 10 of pregnancy the embryo turns into a
fetus. The fetus develops more and more for 28 weeks. Around 39 40 weeks, a woman can go into
labor. Labor is when the mother starts having contractions, and the baby s head starts dropping into the
cervix. The cervix dilates and thins out. As the cervix is fully dilated at 10 centimeters the mother
beings pushing. Vaginal birth entails less discomfort after delivery (9). Vaginal birth babies can go
home with their babies sooner (9). Vaginal births take roughly one or two weeks for recovery (1).
During natural birth the baby gets a squeeze. This forces mucus and fluid out of the baby s airway.
With the Caesarean, the baby does not get the beneficial squeeze like vaginal

because of their less elastic demand aren t as likely to take the time to find coupons. Graham, R. J.

it is just discriminatory as to who will actually do it. I, personally, should use more coupons, but the

Analysing Talk to Chuck ads
The first thing to notice about the Talk to Chuck advertisement was the medium ¡V animation. The ads
were not exactly cartoons ¡V they were shot on film and then coloured over using the Rotoscopy
technology from MIT Media Labs veteran Bob Sabiston (the same technology was used in the movie
¡§Waking Life¡¨). The animated ads succeeded in focusing people¡¦s attention to the conversations.
Somehow the removal of the real world details present in the live actor¡¦s face and retention of the
actual background set, forced consumers move past what they were seeing and shifted their attention
to the dialogue. The characters discussed about commissions, trades and plans for the future.
The second surprising choice was the new slogan, ¡§Talk to Chuck¡¨ ¡V not Charles, but Chuck. Even
though Mr. Charles Schwab was not present in the ads, the campaign was centred on him. The Schwab
campaign carried the theme ¡§Talk to Chuck¡¨ which appeared as an eye catching graphic device in
the form of a dialogue balloon as would be found in a cartoon strip. Some liked the use of the name
¡§Chuck¡¨; some loved it; some hated it; but everybody noticed it. Overall it communicated a
company that was comfortable to talk to, approachable and on your level.

Thatcher had the ability to alter power relations throughout the country and allow for the development
of authoritarian populism to be prominent and accepted as the dominant political ideology. Hall
contextualizes the development and expansion of the radical right and the ways in which to understand
these political motives. Hall notes how the radical right has to be understood in direct relation to
alternative political formations attempting to occupy and command the same space. It is engaged in a
struggle for hegemony, within the dominant bloc, against both social democracy and the moderate
wing of it s own party (Hall, 16). Thus, the radical right is accumulating massive power during this
critical time in the history of the United Kingdom where social democracy and conservatism are
clashing while there is a crisis of capital around the world.
Within this context, the power of the right gained momentum from the socialization of the dominant
narrative through the use of education, media forces and the power of the economy controlling
politics. By normalizing functions of the economic state and the imbalance of political hierarchies,
this enables hegemony to justify the status quo and makes the ruling class invisible as they are
manipulating power structures to benefit themselves as well as to maintain their power and privilege.
Nonetheless, hegemony can be seen as imperial

Analysis Of The Interactive Model Of Product Development

In design and fabrication of metallic equipment and structures, often weight saving is often used to
improve efficiency in in service performance of the item. This paper will explore the interactive model
of product development, which includes the important of: the uses of alternative materials on the
design, fabrication and in service behaviour of the item in order to provide awareness of how issue of
the underlying principles of each of these weight saving alternatives and the advantages to be gained,
using the benchmark grade 350 steel.
Grade 350 steel
In general, the strength of a steel is controlled by its microstructure which changes according to its
chemical composition, its thermal background and the deformation processes it undergoes during its
production schedule. Hence, different steels will have different strengths and most nations measure its
strengths by a national standard. According to engineers Australia, Australia grades their steel
according to their yield strength, thus the value of applied stress at which permanent deformation
occurs, in smooth lab specimen. (Engineering austraila,2008 ).So, a grade 350 means yield strength of
350 Mpa. We typically uses a 350 grade which is classified as a medium steel to design bridges, high
rise building, storage tanks, structural members and general fabrication. This medium strength
structural steel is excellent of weldability, good formability and guaranteed minimum strength levels.

a doctor so that everyone profits. The idea is that people with no prior self knowledge would choose a
society that has the least amount of inequality in it just in case the poorest turns out to be them. Rawls
goes on to expand on the principles of justice that he proposes. In general he says that these two
principles apply to the basic structure of society and are meant to regulate the distribution of
advantages and disadvantages. They are meant to make sure that rights and duties are equally
distributed. He says, the basic liberties of citizens are, roughly speaking, political liberty (the right to

conscience and freedom of thought, freedom of the person along with the right to hold (personal)
property; and freedom from arbitrary arrest and seizure as defined by the concept of the rule of law.
He says that everyone should have the same amount of these liberties, since citizens of a just society
are to have the same basic rights. Rawls does clarify the ordering of his principles as well, by
explaining that the first principle can not be compensated for by greater social or economic
advantages, but that the distribution of wealth and income must be consistent with

Reflective Reflection On Hinduism
Ranjeet Chaudhari

Hinduism Reflection
Hinduism is a major world and oldest extant religion with a billion followers which started in the
Indian subcontinent. It has a variety of systems of philosophy, belief, and ritual, characterized by the
belief in reincarnation one absolute being of multiple manifestations, the law of cause and effect,
following the path of righteousness, and the desire for liberation from the cycle of births and deaths.
Hinduism refers to rich tradition of texts and practices, some of which date back to the second
millennium BC or possibly earlier. In the early 21st century, Hinduism had nearly one billion
adherents worldwide and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do not want to make a case for either the monotheistic or polytheistic imagination and say that one is
better than the other. In healthy people both can fruitfully coexist, and both have their drawbacks. The
downside to the monotheistic imagination is a tendency toward one sided absolutism. It is crazy that
there are millions of Gods in Hinduism, but Christianity has only one. Hindus are encouraged to relate
to god in the way that suits them best, like worshipping many deities who are believed to be
manifestations of God. I think people believe in multiple Gods because just like an organization that
has different people who take up different roles, different Gods have different responsibilities.
Because gods aren t supported by evidence, people have to use their imagination to interpret their will,
which due to the absence of evidence, will vary from person to person, and nobody can demonstrate,
with evidence, that one person s imagined god id any more real than anyone else s imagined god. As
everyone knows that god is everywhere and watches us, and in Hinduism also they believe that god is
everywhere and in everything. So, the polytheistic imaginations in Hinduism makes sense since they
believe God is everywhere, Hindus worship pretty much everything like Stones, directions, plants,
animals

Summary Of Rocky s Tale
Shanna Angel Cameron Wilson English Composition 1 15 September 2017 Rocky s Tale Right now,
as I write this, it is so dark, that I can barely see my tail. I m curled up, in my room, at the foot of my
bed, and my boy is sprawled out across the rest of the bed. The room is very warm, musty, and humid,
and and where the carpet can be seen, it is covered with stains of soda, dirt, and things I don t want to
imagine. I know, it might sound kind of disgusting, but I love this place! As for myself, I go up to
about mid calf on a person, I am covered in ruddy, brown fur, and I have warm, golden brown eyes. I
have a weird, misshapen spine that makes my belly arch up when I lay down and makes me sit on my
lower back with my hind legs in the air ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yuck! I don t like that from strangers! I guess I can t blame them though. It s just how humans
communicate. Anyway, I had been in that concrete place for a long time. I wasn t sure if I would ever
get out. This is when my hero came in. This hero s name was Ted. Ted lived with three other, bigger
dogs. As you can imagine, it took some time to feel comfortable. I was pretty skittish, but soon enough
he became my human and he called me his buddy. It took even longer for me to be okay with the other
dogs, but they became my best friends! We played together, ate together, laid around together, we did
everything together. Even when Ted was gone, I was happy. Ted taught me to love car rides. A car is
what Ted called these big, metal machines on wheels that take you places really fast. Cars are amazing
to ride in, and there are so many smells to explore! I was with Ted for two years, but then he started to
get sluggish. He would make weird whistling noises cough, and he held his chest a lot. One day, these
people came in and took him. One of Ted s friends came by once in awhile in the following few days,
but I never saw Ted again. I heard some of his friends say it was emphysema, whatever that means.
My friends were taken by people I didn t know, and I was again alone, sad, and afraid. Finally, an
event occurred that changed my life forever. A man named Robert came to take me away. I admit, I
was horrified at first. That man walked in the door

The Security Of Information Security
This document is only a brief synopsis of the ever expanding and demanding field of information
security. It contains explanations, screenshots or visual cues, and tips on multiple subjects such as
system defenses, reducing vulnerabilities, and the presence of malicious threats. Smaller areas, such as
vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, are also covered because they are very significant in
the security of information. While vulnerability assessment is a necessity, penetration testing is purely
an option to the security engineer.
What is Information Security ?
Information security is often defined as the security or assurance of information and it requires the
ability to maintain the authenticity of the information. The three common components of information
security are confidentiality, integrity, and availability and they form an essential base for the overall
picture of information security. Confidentiality is perhaps one of the most common aspects of
information security because any information that is withheld from the public within the intentions to
only allow access to authorized individuals is confidential. Encryption is often used to maintain the
confidentiality of information as encryption is one of multiple methods of access control and
Microsoft BitLocker is an example of access control encryption feature. Although TrueCrypt is no
longer a secure method of protecting data, I will discuss it further in the

The Unwritten History of Cave Paintings Essay
Religious stories and scientific theories have tried for thousands of years to accurately date the
formation of man. However, in the 1860s, a new art was discovered that changed the view of human
creation forever. This new insight was cave painting. Cave painting is a form of prehistoric art that
dates back hundreds of thousands of years. Analysts are unable to specify the reasoning behind these
paintings of objects on cave walls, but many theories have been formulated to surmise the rational
behind the art. Questions arise like, why did man find a need to paint the walls of caves and is this part
of the foundation of the origin of human life as we know it? (Beacon) The ecumenical belief is rooted
at history, cave paintings are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The methods used to create have proven themselves more useful in dating the art than the work itself.
The natural objects used have withstood time better that the art. In the earlier times of the paintings,
fingers and soft clays created many of the paintings. The fine engravings were created later in time,
respectively, and are much more rare. Over time the art became more revolutionized and the artists
began to mix colors with pestles and mortars. They even went as far as using stencils and blowpipes to
create different effects. Another supporting theory that the paintings were done consciously to
preserve time is the cost of the art. The cave paintings were expensive to create. The artists required
sufficient lighting and a homemade type of scaffolding to reach the high areas. If it didn t seem
imperative to the people to preserve their experiences, they wouldn t have gone to such costs to create
the work. The quality and consistency of the best painted works in caves supports this. They honed
their skill to perfection so that it would last for centuries to be interpreted months later by different
clans or even years later by completely different generations. When the first painting was found,
people didn t know whether they were conclusive to a specific area. Many years later from 1860 after
finding the first cave of Chauvet, hundreds of paintings have been found. Historians believe there to
have been over a thousand of

College Drinking In College
Attending parties and binge drinking in college is a very regular occurrence for young adults these
days. Across the country, campuses have had more students who are experiencing alcohol problems
and alcohol related injuries than ever before. This is due to the fact that alcohol is so readily available
wherever you go. It can be obtained in liquor stores, grocery stores, superstores and even the local
shop on the corner of your street. This is especially true on college campuses, where students may not
be mature or responsible enough to handle the effects that come with drinking. From weekly drink
specials at the bars, to Greek life parties, a college campus can be an easy place to acquire and develop
a drinking problem. There was a recent national survey taken that found almost sixty percent of
college students drank alcohol in the past month alone, and around two thirds of these students
engaged in binge drinking during that period. It is very easy to be peer pressured into drinking; it can
seem like a lot of fun at the time and new students wanting to fit in can sometimes feel obliged to do
so. As there is drinking occurring almost every night on a college campus it can be hard to find
yourself out of place if you start to develop a drinking habit. There will always typically be people you
know going out and partying, and therefore if other people are doing it then why can t you? No one
ever thinks anything bad will happen to them, thus they drink without concern and can

Yes Chef Marcus Samuelsson
In the memoir Yes Chef the author talked about his life from the begging up to now. Marcus
Samuelsson was born in Ethiopia, and he used to live in rural area with his older sister and mother. His
family was affected by tuberculosis, but his sister and he were survived. Since his mother was dead in
tuberculosis, Marcus and his sister were adopted by a Swedish family. His sister and he grew up as a
black Swedish children. Because of their skin color Marcus faced a lot of challenges; however he was
a though man, and he did not give up for challenges. He started his career as a soccer player because
since he was a child, he had been passionate with soccer; however, he did not achieve his dream
because he was physically too small, he was rejected ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The book shows how many adopted children feels when they are grown up in different culture with
different race. Many children are adopted, but some of them are glad to be adopted while others do
not. Like Marcus, many adopted children go back to their country to find their biological parents
while some do not even want to know about their origin. The book also express the pain of black
people in the white community. Many people have faced several challenges because of their skin color
some even bullied like Marcus, and he mentioned the challenges he faced because of his skin color.
Moreover there are also some important lessons to become a successful person. Marcus scarified a lot
of things to become a famous chef. For example, he did not visit his daughter and his ex girlfriend
because he wanted to focus on his career and he was committed. The book also shows people should
learn from their failures, and the author wrote about his failures; however he never gave up for
challenges. On the other hand, the memoir also has some drawbacks. It seems boring for readers
because the author mainly talks about food. However, I recommend the book for many people because
it has some interesting

Alcohol In College Sports
How can alcohol influence someone at a college football game? Does alcohol give someone a good
reputation or regrets? Alcohol can make you act a certain way. Football games should be fun and
enjoyable to watch without trying. In my opinion, alcohol at college football games can cause bad
decisions, foul language, and effects on others to and from. Alcohol is a drug that will make you do
bad decision when you drink too much. Not only do you make bad decisions with alcohol it also
makes you have regrets. Having regrets can make you not able to forgive yourself for what you do, it
could give you a reputation, and it could jeopardize your career. Alcohol and your career are two
things that are dangerous. Making bad decisions by drinking alcohol

The Navigation of Christopher Columbus and the Age of...
Before beginning the research for this work, I had planned on producing a paper and presentation
which detailed the history of open sea navigation and the difficulties and dangers which would have
faced sailors and seamen during the Age of Discovery. My premise was that we, living in the
twentifirst century, had lost touch with the reality of just how hazardous a voyage such as that
undertaken by Columbus was. I had hoped to be able to capture for the listener and reader a sense of
wonder at the bold willingness to risk life and limb that was demonstrated by the explorers of this era
as they left the safety of the waters and oceans that they knew, to challenge the unknown. I had wanted
to capture that feeling of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Columbus voyage to the West was a risk only in the sense that all sea voyages undertaken at this time
placed those sailing at the mercy of the winds, the waves, and the weather, with the added possibility
that either pirates or Muslims would be encountered. Navigation, and the navigator s understanding of
the world, had by this time developed to the point where Columbus was not stepping blindly into the
abyss, but rather was choosing a course of action based on what was believed to be sure knowledge.
The histories of navigation and sailing are intertwined in such a way that for the purpose of this study
they cannot be separated. Also a part of this story are what I believe to be some intriguing possibilities
regarding the peopling of the Americas and the rise of Native American civilizations.
No one knows for certain either where, or when, man first began using floatation as a method of
dealing with the rivers, streams, lakes, and other bodies of water that he found in the world around
him. However, one can easily imagine a scenario in which early man discovered that a floating log, a
matted bed of reeds, or some other buoyant object could be used to support his own weight in the
water. What we do know is that some of humanity s oldest written histories and oral

Analysis Of The Book The R. Tolkien
J.R.R. Tolkien was an amazing author who had the ability to forge stories that have captivated
audiences worldwide since the publishing of his first ever book. Part of this literary success comes
from his astounding character development; his way of writing causes the reader to truly feel what his
characters are experiencing and many a reader has cried at the death of a Tolkien character. However,
if most people attempt to think of one of his characters the first ones that come to mind are males such
as Aragorn and Frodo, when in all reality some of his most intriguing and subtly pivotal characters are
females. Galadriel, Lúthien, Arwen, and Éowyn are four of those such women who are all individually
different, although they can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For many long years I had pondered what I might do, should the Great Ring come into my hands, and
behold! It was brought within my grasp . . . She lifted up her hand and from the ring that she wore
there issued a great light that illuminated her alone and left all else dark. She stood before Frodo
seeming now tall beyond measure, and beautiful beyond enduring, terrible and worshipful. Then she
let her hand fall, and the light faded, and suddenly she laughed again, and lo! She was shrunken: a
slender elf woman, clad in simple white, whose gentle voice was soft and sad. I have passed the test
(The Fellowship 380 381). Galadriel is able to fight off the power of Sauron, a powerful maiar, in this
scene the reader is shown the power she could have had if she had chosen to take the ring, however
she turns down this immense power due to the evil she knows accompanies it. The Lady Galadriel is
grave, wise, beautiful, and powerful, truly she is a model of the perfect women, whether it be elf or
man.
The other idealist female crafted by Tolkien was the half elf, half maiar maiden Lúthien, child of
Thingol and Melian. Even when Lúthien is first introduced in the Silmarillion her gentle yet powerful
nature was made abundantly evident: Keen, heart piercing was her song as the song of the lark that
rises from the gates of night and pours its voice among the dying stars, seeing the sun behind the walls
of the world; and

Ansel Adams s Influence On The Performance Of A Musical...
Ansel Adams was born February 1902 and died in April 1984. His life began in San Francisco,
California. Growing up Adams was quite creative, such as teaching himself the piano, according to
Lamar (1998, p.3), Adams became a serious pianist as a child. Later, he would argue for the
connections between music and photography, calling attention to the importance of tonal gradations
and likening the printing of a negative to the performance of a musical score .
In 1916 his passion for photography began after a trip to Yosemite National Park. Adams personality
was described as hyperactive, and he also had difficulty reading. Due to Adams struggle in school, his
father and aunt began tutoring him, however he never earned a high school diploma. After visiting
Adams creativity expanded beyond anything that could be taught in an educational way, with
Grzymkowski stating that Adams s studies veered into the world of music at age twelve, when he
taught himself to read music and play piano. By the age of eighteen, he was an apt pianist with every
intention of pursuing music as a career. The science and precision of his musical craft later influenced
his photography (Grzymkowski 2013, p.101).
With the assistance of photography magazines, attending camera club meetings, learning darkroom
techniques and visiting photography as well as art exhibits, these all became contributing factors to
Adams eventually selling his early photographs.
His breakthrough as a photographer was due to his

  • 2. Alice In Wonderland Critical Analysis Have you ever read a book, and felt that their was a different meaning? When the classic fairy tale Alice in Wonderland is analyzed from the critical viewpoint of feminism, readers may discover some very interesting and remarkable surprises. In this book, there are parts where Alice is being treated poorly by men. Also the story suggest that women are irrational, emotional, and loud. Mainly showing that they can t be relied on to do some of the tasks that the men do. However most of the men in the story seem to act in a more rational way than the woman do. In similar fashion this story also identifies women as gullible, and stupid, people who are incapable of going through a thought process. Now I shall elaborate on each of these points, showing how this story can be viewed from a feminist point of view. It s evident that, Alice is treated as poorly by some of the men in different parts of the story. During the tea party scene in Alice in Wonderland , Alice approached the table that the men were having tea at. As soon as they saw her coming, they automatically said that there was no room for her at the table. Obviously, Alice could see that the table was not full, in fact there were many seats around the table. Although the men knew this, they decided to tell Alice that there was no room at the table. Perhaps they were trying to deter her from sitting at the table, by making her feel as though she is unwelcome. After that, Alice proceeds to sit at the table, and the Hatter asks Alice to figure out the answer to a riddle. The riddle was Why is a raven like a writing desk? Alice attempts to figure out the answer, but to no avail. When it s time for Alice to answer, she tells the Hatter that she gives up on trying to figure it out. She then proceeds to ask what the answer to the riddle is, and the Hatter says that he has no clue what the answer to the riddle is. He made Alice think long and hard about the answer to the riddle, that seemed to not have an answer. The Hatter knew that there was no answer to the riddle, and yet he made Alice try to figure it out. I can conclude that the Hatter only asked Alice the question to serve as entertainment, and to belittle her intelligence. In addition, one of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Black Panther Party Formed The Black Panther Party formed as a result of Black Nationalism which came from a multitude of events that began to form decades before any mention of The Black Panther Party. To even begin to understand a group such as this, one must first attempt to grasp the historical context which lies behind them. Blake (1969) asserts that the initial onset began back in 1619 when the first of the colonial settlers accepted a number of captured Africans which were to be used as servants leading to the period of slavery which serves as a sore spot in this country s history. One of the primary streams of thought behind this idea of Black Nationalism can be summed up as the hypocrisy felt by African Americans during the era of slavery as well as after it s end. These are a race of people characterized by their looks and were not given the same rights within the society, yet at the same time, were expected to meet the standards of regular citizens within the country creating that sense of inferiority. Emanating from this complex was the earliest form of Black Nationalism during the nineteenth century in which blacks wanted to separate themselves from America (Essien Udom, 1962). This was a period known as Classical Black Nationalism, where the objective, as stated previously, was the foundation of a sovereign state. • 5. Forshadowings And Mood In The Scarlet Ibis By James Hurst Have you ever despised your sibling/s at one point, but later started to appreciate them in your life? In James Hurst s short novel, The Scarlet Ibis, Doodle is a disabled child and the narrator is his brother, who despises him. The narrator, known as Brother, wanted to murder Doodle due to his disability, but learns that Doodle is not much of a burden. He sets out to teach Doodle abilities that he could never do before, but instead, he pressures him too far and ends up leading him to his tragic death. Thus, in The Scarlet Ibis, Hurst uses diction, symbolism, foreshadowing, and similes to establish a horrifying mood during the coffin scene part of the story, a melancholic mood during the death of the scarlet ibis, and a dreary mood during the death of Doodle part of the story. In the scene of the scarlet ibis s death, Hurst establishes a melancholic mood throughout the section. As the scarlet ibis falls from the bleeding tree to its death, Doodle observes that the bird was still (10). The stillness of the ibis heightens the melancholic mood in the scene, as readers might imagine a time where they witnessed a death and felt a sense of sadness, thus creating a melancholic mood in the section. Additionally, as the author compares the dead scarlet ibis and a broken vase, he states, for it lay on the earth like a broken vase of red flowers (10). As the author distinguishes the similarities between the scarlet ibis and the broken vase, it highlights how the ibis is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While Rwanda and Thailand s drive toward UHC has shown incredible promise and success as I will describe in this paper, their processes were quite different, demonstrating that UHC is not a cut and paste process. Each approach must ultimately reflect that country s unique history, culture and legacy from existing health systems. Let us first examine the definition and the three properties of UHC, as defined by the WHO (Panel 2). The first objective states equity in access to health services namely, that access should be on a basis of need, and not on the basis of the ability to pay. The second objective states that the quality of health care provided should be good enough to improve health. The third objective states the importance of financial risk protection. • 11. Compatibilism Essays There are 3 basic views that can be taken on the view of determinism, (1) deny its reality, either because of the existence of free will or on independent grounds; (2) accept its reality but argue for its compatibility with free will; or (3) accept its reality and deny its compatibility with free will.In this paper I am going to be defending the view compatibilism, specifically W. T. Stace s view of compatibilism. Compatibilism is the idea that determinism is true, every event in the world is caused, and that free will still exists. Stace defends this view by saying the problem is the definition of free will. The current definition of what free will is a completely and wholly uncaused action. However this obviously would be completely ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are a few criticisms that are brought up against this compatibles view; in fact Stace brings up possible objections himself. The first that I will consider is that there are some cases that are borderline. For example, if somebody has a gun and puts it to your head and commands you to do something it seems that you would have to do it even though the person with the gun is not physically forcing you to do it. However I do not believe this to be a borderline case at all, even if someone is holding a gun to your head you are still making the decision to do whatever it is that they are telling you to do. It is still of your own mental state that you will do it out of your own perceived state that whatever they are asking you to do would be preferable to your own death. The second objection that he presents is that if you could somehow know that somebody was going to do an action before they did it (even though this itself is very hard to believe) then how could they have done otherwise. However I do not understand how this is detrimental to this argument of compatibilism. Obviously if someone somehow new 100% for sure that you were going to do something then to even ask if the person could have done otherwise is completely absurd, they obviously would have, as in the first part of the statement its said that they couldn t. The focal point of exercise 1.1, is to make us understand how important it is to gain a better understanding of our personal beliefs. I want to personally say, I agree 100% with this philosophy because doing this, will only sweeten our relationships with our clients. I back this statement up with, believing that one can t manage to help others, if they physically don t understand who they re yet. It is literally impossible for someone to have success in this field or any other fields, if they have no clue on what their personal belief system consists of. This is seen in the lack of support and encouragement displayed when Esther s mother fails to support and encourage Esther with her aspirations. No matter what Esther had wanted to do with her life, her Mother had always wanted her to learn the skills of shorthand because she would always have that skill in her life and also that was the one thing her Mother had experienced in life. As a result, her Mother failed to enhance Esther with her aspirations that she wanted from life. We need the sustenance and assurance from not only loved ones in life, but also from others. This is demonstrated when Jay Cee, Esther s present boss asked Esther what she wanted to do with her life. Esther did not have any solid idea as to what she wanted to do with her life. You ll never get anywhere like that. (Sylvia Plath page 27) Esther did not know what she especially wanted with her life. Jay Cee stated to Esther that not having an idea of what she wants, will not get her very far because Esther is lacking a few skills. • 24. The Pros And Cons Of Global Warming Warming Global warming is the gradual increase in the overall temperature of the Earth s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants (Collins). The current climate changes that are occurring all over the world have sparked a growing controversy on whether global warming is true or false. Many of these individuals who play a role in this controversy argue that the current climate changes are simply part of the cycles seen in the earth s geological history or that it is simply caused by an increase in the brightness of the sun. This point of view is understandable as humanity is dependent on the climate for survival. However, many climatologists and scientists have found that the current climate changes are much more worrisome than previous climate changes. They have found that carbon dioxide (CO2) levels have increased over the years because of an increase in the use of coal, oil, and gas and that the Earth s current pattern of warming is greater and faster than that of prehistoric warming episodes. The first argument many individuals would make against global warming is that the current climate changes are simply part of the cycles seen in the earth s geological history. Global warming would easily be proven correct if Earth s temperature had been stable for the majority of its geological history. However, for over two million years, during the Ice Ages, Earth s temperature rose and fell ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the unique aspect of the industry is that it is so expansive in all of the different categories and types of movies, but yet each film is individualized. A certain characteristic of a movie may appeal to one person and not another. Such characteristics may not only appeal to an individual but to a certain group of people. By doing this observation, I anticipated to see what people really choose. Since the subjects were unaware that I was watching them, they had no pressure to select a certain type of movie and could chose freely. In other ways of collecting data such as a survey or interview, people may be reluctant to be honest about some details. Through observation, there were no doubts if the subject was being dishonest because they freely chose the movie without even realizing I was watching them. A second route that I chose to collect data was to administer a survey to ten college age people. Of these ten people, five of them were females and five of them were males. The survey was given to these people while they were in their college dorm rooms. There were six questions on the survey, including a gender question, how many movies does the subject watch in an average month, and what are these movies classified as, adventure or romance/romantic comedy. The final two questions dealt with who the subject mostly watches movies with and if they normally get to choose the movie when watching one ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Obstetricians and hospital s rely on technology more than ever to flag potential problems during pregnancy, labor, and delivery (1). Continuous recording of the fetal heart rate come into being in the 1970 s and is likely a big contributor to the increase in Caesarean sections(1). Continuous monitoring allows doctors to make a decision on what birthing method should be used: natural birth or caesarean. The benefits of natural birth outweigh the risks of a Caesarean section to mother and baby. Pregnancy occurs when a sperm and egg unite, this is called conception. A zygote is created, in one week the zygote attaches itself on the uterine wall, and in two weeks becomes an embryo. Week 10 of pregnancy the embryo turns into a fetus. The fetus develops more and more for 28 weeks. Around 39 40 weeks, a woman can go into labor. Labor is when the mother starts having contractions, and the baby s head starts dropping into the cervix. The cervix dilates and thins out. As the cervix is fully dilated at 10 centimeters the mother beings pushing. Vaginal birth entails less discomfort after delivery (9). Vaginal birth babies can go home with their babies sooner (9). Vaginal births take roughly one or two weeks for recovery (1). During natural birth the baby gets a squeeze. This forces mucus and fluid out of the baby s airway. With the Caesarean, the baby does not get the beneficial squeeze like vaginal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The rise of thatcherism originated from the political and economic control propelled by the elite class who imposed a dominant ideology that sustained the movement of the radical right, in the time of severe political instability from World War II. Thatcher had the ability to alter power relations throughout the country and allow for the development of authoritarian populism to be prominent and accepted as the dominant political ideology. Hall contextualizes the development and expansion of the radical right and the ways in which to understand these political motives. It is engaged in a struggle for hegemony, within the dominant bloc, against both social democracy and the moderate wing of it s own party (Hall, 16). Thus, the radical right is accumulating massive power during this critical time in the history of the United Kingdom where social democracy and conservatism are clashing while there is a crisis of capital around the world. Within this context, the power of the right gained momentum from the socialization of the dominant narrative through the use of education, media forces and the power of the economy controlling politics. Grade 350 steel In general, the strength of a steel is controlled by its microstructure which changes according to its chemical composition, its thermal background and the deformation processes it undergoes during its production schedule. Hence, different steels will have different strengths and most nations measure its strengths by a national standard. According to engineers Australia, Australia grades their steel according to their yield strength, thus the value of applied stress at which permanent deformation occurs, in smooth lab specimen. (Engineering austraila,2008 ).So, a grade 350 means yield strength of 350 Mpa. In the earlier times of the paintings, fingers and soft clays created many of the paintings. The fine engravings were created later in time, respectively, and are much more rare. Over time the art became more revolutionized and the artists began to mix colors with pestles and mortars. They even went as far as using stencils and blowpipes to create different effects. Another supporting theory that the paintings were done consciously to preserve time is the cost of the art. The cave paintings were expensive to create. The artists required sufficient lighting and a homemade type of scaffolding to reach the high areas. If it didn t seem imperative to the people to preserve their experiences, they wouldn t have gone to such costs to create the work. The quality and consistency of the best painted works in caves supports this. They honed their skill to perfection so that it would last for centuries to be interpreted months later by different clans or even years later by completely different generations. When the first painting was found, people didn t know whether they were conclusive to a specific area. Many years later from 1860 after finding the first cave of Chauvet, hundreds of paintings have been found. Historians believe there to have been over a thousand of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. College Drinking In College Attending parties and binge drinking in college is a very regular occurrence for young adults these days. Across the country, campuses have had more students who are experiencing alcohol problems and alcohol related injuries than ever before. This is due to the fact that alcohol is so readily available wherever you go. It can be obtained in liquor stores, grocery stores, superstores and even the local shop on the corner of your street. This is especially true on college campuses, where students may not be mature or responsible enough to handle the effects that come with drinking. From weekly drink specials at the bars, to Greek life parties, a college campus can be an easy place to acquire and develop a drinking problem. There was a recent national survey taken that found almost sixty percent of college students drank alcohol in the past month alone, and around two thirds of these students engaged in binge drinking during that period. It is very easy to be peer pressured into drinking; it can seem like a lot of fun at the time and new students wanting to fit in can sometimes feel obliged to do so. As there is drinking occurring almost every night on a college campus it can be hard to find yourself out of place if you start to develop a drinking habit. There will always typically be people you know going out and partying, and therefore if other people are doing it then why can t you? No one ever thinks anything bad will happen to them, thus they drink without concern and can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The book also express the pain of black people in the white community. Many people have faced several challenges because of their skin color some even bullied like Marcus, and he mentioned the challenges he faced because of his skin color. Moreover there are also some important lessons to become a successful person. Marcus scarified a lot of things to become a famous chef. For example, he did not visit his daughter and his ex girlfriend because he wanted to focus on his career and he was committed. The book also shows people should learn from their failures, and the author wrote about his failures; however he never gave up for challenges. On the other hand, the memoir also has some drawbacks. It seems boring for readers because the author mainly talks about food. However, I recommend the book for many people because it has some interesting ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 48. The Navigation of Christopher Columbus and the Age of... Before beginning the research for this work, I had planned on producing a paper and presentation which detailed the history of open sea navigation and the difficulties and dangers which would have faced sailors and seamen during the Age of Discovery. My premise was that we, living in the twentifirst century, had lost touch with the reality of just how hazardous a voyage such as that undertaken by Columbus was. I had hoped to be able to capture for the listener and reader a sense of wonder at the bold willingness to risk life and limb that was demonstrated by the explorers of this era as they left the safety of the waters and oceans that they knew, to challenge the unknown. I had wanted to capture that feeling of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Columbus voyage to the West was a risk only in the sense that all sea voyages undertaken at this time placed those sailing at the mercy of the winds, the waves, and the weather, with the added possibility that either pirates or Muslims would be encountered. Navigation, and the navigator s understanding of the world, had by this time developed to the point where Columbus was not stepping blindly into the abyss, but rather was choosing a course of action based on what was believed to be sure knowledge. The histories of navigation and sailing are intertwined in such a way that for the purpose of this study they cannot be separated. Also a part of this story are what I believe to be some intriguing possibilities regarding the peopling of the Americas and the rise of Native American civilizations. No one knows for certain either where, or when, man first began using floatation as a method of dealing with the rivers, streams, lakes, and other bodies of water that he found in the world around him. However, one can easily imagine a scenario in which early man discovered that a floating log, a matted bed of reeds, or some other buoyant object could be used to support his own weight in the water. What we do know is that some of humanity s oldest written histories and oral ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Analysis Of The Book The R. Tolkien J.R.R. Tolkien was an amazing author who had the ability to forge stories that have captivated audiences worldwide since the publishing of his first ever book. Part of this literary success comes from his astounding character development; his way of writing causes the reader to truly feel what his characters are experiencing and many a reader has cried at the death of a Tolkien character. However, if most people attempt to think of one of his characters the first ones that come to mind are males such as Aragorn and Frodo, when in all reality some of his most intriguing and subtly pivotal characters are females. Galadriel, Lúthien, Arwen, and Éowyn are four of those such women who are all individually different, although they can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For many long years I had pondered what I might do, should the Great Ring come into my hands, and behold! It was brought within my grasp . . . She lifted up her hand and from the ring that she wore there issued a great light that illuminated her alone and left all else dark. She stood before Frodo seeming now tall beyond measure, and beautiful beyond enduring, terrible and worshipful. Then she let her hand fall, and the light faded, and suddenly she laughed again, and lo! She was shrunken: a slender elf woman, clad in simple white, whose gentle voice was soft and sad. I have passed the test (The Fellowship 380 381). Galadriel is able to fight off the power of Sauron, a powerful maiar, in this scene the reader is shown the power she could have had if she had chosen to take the ring, however she turns down this immense power due to the evil she knows accompanies it. The Lady Galadriel is grave, wise, beautiful, and powerful, truly she is a model of the perfect women, whether it be elf or man. The other idealist female crafted by Tolkien was the half elf, half maiar maiden Lúthien, child of Thingol and Melian. Even when Lúthien is first introduced in the Silmarillion her gentle yet powerful nature was made abundantly evident: Keen, heart piercing was her song as the song of the lark that rises from the gates of night and pours its voice among the dying stars, seeing the sun behind the walls of the world; and ... • 50. Ansel Adams s Influence On The Performance Of A Musical... Ansel Adams was born February 1902 and died in April 1984. His life began in San Francisco, California. Growing up Adams was quite creative, such as teaching himself the piano, according to Lamar (1998, p.3), Adams became a serious pianist as a child. Later, he would argue for the connections between music and photography, calling attention to the importance of tonal gradations and likening the printing of a negative to the performance of a musical score . In 1916 his passion for photography began after a trip to Yosemite National Park. Adams personality was described as hyperactive, and he also had difficulty reading. Due to Adams struggle in school, his father and aunt began tutoring him, however he never earned a high school diploma. After visiting Adams creativity expanded beyond anything that could be taught in an educational way, with Grzymkowski stating that Adams s studies veered into the world of music at age twelve, when he taught himself to read music and play piano. By the age of eighteen, he was an apt pianist with every intention of pursuing music as a career. The science and precision of his musical craft later influenced his photography (Grzymkowski 2013, p.101). With the assistance of photography magazines, attending camera club meetings, learning darkroom techniques and visiting photography as well as art exhibits, these all became contributing factors to Adams eventually selling his early photographs. His breakthrough as a photographer was due to his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
