Developing Sustainable Fiscal Policies And Implementing A...
A budget can be described as an allocation mechanism that the Government uses to distribute a nation
s resources amongst different economic sectors that serve or are existent within a country. The major
source of Government resources distributed is taxes paid by resident or citizens of a given country. A
budget is one tool that has a lot of political and economic significance since it controls a Government
s expenditures and it lays out a path that the economy will follow or at least try to follow in a given
year. The Government, being the main board governing or running a country has a major role of
developing sustainable fiscal policies and ensuring or try to achieve economic growth and it is through
budgeting that these goals can be successful achieved. A budget translate a Government s policies,
political commitments, and goals into decisions on how much revenue to raise, how it plans to raise
the revenue, and how to use these funds to meet the country s competing needs and these may include
improving the country s security, alleviating poverty, improving health care among other things.
Budgeting is of great economic and political significance because a Government s budget directly or
indirectly affects the lives of every citizen or resident. Considering the fact that it is the people that
have the power to decide the political life of the political party running the country, the Government
would want to prepare a budget that directly deals with the issues that are of

A Beautiful Young Woman Steps Down From The Horse Drawn...
A beautiful young woman steps down from the horse drawn carriage, one foot touching down onto the
rough ground outside her second home. As she looks around, she cannot help soaking in all the
wonderful scenery surrounding her. The fabulously large trees too tall to climb perfectly blanketing
the hillside in the distance. The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering perfectly formed cotton
clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of orange, yellow and brown.
The grazing grass that surrounds still the brightest shade of green imaginable. There are many at this
entrance of the castle, standing tall and at attention to welcome this young woman home. She feels as
though she has been absent for too long. Everyone looks so different, and she feels they must think the
same of her. She was just a young lady of thirteen when she was sent away in hiding, but now she is
seventeen and has matured into a young woman. She moves slowly taking her first few steps, and
approaches the handsome young man in front of her. Their eyes connect with one another, and the
connection is not to be broken despite every distraction surrounding the two. They are both
remembering their younger days. The days of a boy meeting a girl. The days of holding hands as they
ran up and down these grounds just for play. The days of so much laughter, games, and unconditional
affection. Oh how they had missed each other s company, and both feel the calm on their

Ella is Battling Cancer
Cancer is Chronic disease in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to invade other
tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph systems (NCI,
2013). Breast cancer in particular affects both women and men, though our focus is on Ella Miller
who is the heart of the Miller family. Ella has been battling cancer for years now and even though she
went into remission, the cancer has returned. This Situation is affecting her view on life and well as
her family view on life with and without her. The purpose of this paper is to inform and introduce
factual background of breast cancer, medical treatment options, suggestions of coping with this illness
for the family and Ella as well as an outlook regarding the micro, macro and mezzo influences of the
patient and family. This paper will educate Ella and her family on lifespan development and outcomes
pertaining to breast cancer.
Cancer is a term used for diseases in which abnormal cells divide without control and are able to
invade other tissues. Cancer cells can spread to other parts of the body through the blood and lymph
systems (NCI, 2013). Cancer is of many diseases. It originates from the organ in the body and/or from
the part of the body that is affected, for example breast cancer. Breast cancer is mainly common
among women, except for skin cancers. Breast cancer occurs when cells in the breast divide and grow
without their normal control (Komen, 2014). The

While computers are an important tool in regards to teaching, they are also a large distraction and can
show the students that their responsibilities (i.e. lecture, lab, exams) are not important. Bringing your
computer to lecture for non class purposes such as email, shows the students that it is not worth your
time to pay attention and sets a poor example. Looking at your personal computer in lab is a safety
issue because you are not concentrating on what is happening in the lab and it indicates that the
students are not your top priority. Personal computers detract from your focus, which needs to be
entirely on your students at all times.
B. Ethics
If you are respectful in your relations with your students, they will be respectful of you. If you are cold
and sharp or condescending in the discussion of their work or difficulties, they will feel uncomfortable
and have as little contact with you as they can. Although you will want to be friendly with your

Toni Jung Research Paper
Solitude can be a powerful catalyst for inspiration and emotion. Solitude reaches deep inside us and
plays on our imagination, hopes and inspiration. The long period of solitude influences Carl Jung s
psychological theory. Nina Sayers in Black Swan dwelling in her lonely soul tries to dance perfectly in

Black Swan. Carl Gustav Jung was born in 1875 in Switzerland. He was the only surviving son of his

Differences And Similarities Between Maslow And Taylor
Frederick Winslow Taylor and Abraham Maslow
This essay explores the similarities and differences between Abraham Maslow and Frederick Winslow
Taylor. Primarily, they both had contrastive management theories. Maslow believed that people are
motivated to achieve certain needs. When one need is fulfilled a person seeks to fulfil the next one,
and so on (Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs, McLeod, 2007). Taylor, on the other hand, applied his
engineering and scientific knowledge to management and developed a theory called Scientific
Management Theory (Frederick Taylor: Theories, Principles and Contributions to Management).
There is, however, a comparison between these management theorists as they both ignored the
external environment of the business, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The external environment of an organisation are those factors outside of the company that affect the
company s ability to function. These factors can include customers, the government, the economy, and
competition (Five Components of an Organization s External Environment, George N. Root III).
Although Maslow discovered ways that management can motivate employees, he ignored the fact that
management must also influence customers to buy their products. Likewise, Taylor decided that using
science would improve the workplace, but that does not mean that sales will increase. Both Maslow
and Taylor did not take into account government regulations or the economy when outlining their
management theories. If the economy was struggling, e.g. If there was a recession, Maslow s
management theory may not be successful as worker s psychological needs such as a salary could not
be fulfilled as the business may not have the money to do so (Five Components of an Organization s
External Environment, George N. Root III). Likewise, Taylor believed that efficiency could be
improved by utilizing scientific, engineering and mathematical analysis. However, it may not be
possible for a business to operate in a scientific manner if the economy is in recession and does not
have the capital to do so (Scientific Management: Theories, Principles and Definition). Maslow and
Taylor also failed to recognise their competitors in the external environment. They both chose a
management style that increased productivity, but this does not affect the demand for products. The
first need that must be satisfied in Maslow s Hierarchy of needs is psychological, such as wages
(Abraham Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs Motivational Model). Businesses who adopt this type of
management style may offer a competitive salary to their employees to motivate them, which may also
result in an increase in the

Companionship In Beowulf
Beowulf is an epic poem by an unknown author. The epic poem is about a man with superhuman
power named Beowulf that goes to a kingdom named Herot to solve their problem of being tortured
by a monster named Grendel. This epic poem was told during the Anglo Saxon period where values
such as LOF, Comitatus, and WYRD, or fame, companionship and fate, respectively, were important
to their culture.
First, LOF, or fame is important as it is seen throughout the whole epic poem. My lord, the great king
of Danes commands me to tell you that he knows of your noble birth and that having come to him
from over the open sea you have come bravely and are welcome (Raffel) . In this part of the epic
poem, Beowulf is greeted by Wulfgar who says the king knows of Beowulf. Then Hrothgar s men
gave places to the Geats yielded benches to the brave visitor, and led them to the feast (Raffel) .
Hrothgar prepared a feast for Beowulf coming to Herot. In the two examples it shows that Beowulf s
fame had already reach the land of Herot. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Men at arms, remain here on the barrow, safe in your armour, to see which one of us is better in the
end at bearing wounds in a deadly fray (Raffel) . Here, Beowulf gives a speech to his eleven warriors

picked us out from the army deliberately, honoured us and judged us fir for this action, made me these
lavish gifts and all because he considered us the best of his arm bearing thanes (Raffel) . Wiglaf gives
his speech to the cowardly warriors who left Beowulf and spoke about how greatly Beowulf had
treated them. The companionship between Beowulf and his men shows how important it was to them

2.1 UK government policy on the environment
One of the good choice is the UK government policy in the environment because the environment
from the UK is very eco friendly. In Myanmar, there is a lot of rubbish on the street and water is not
clean enough. So, instead of Myanmar environment be UK environment. Moreover, there are some
issue about greenhouse such as global warming, a company fined for illegally dumping waste, a
drought or flood blamed on pollution, a health scare about car exhausts and smog in tropical countries.
There are 15 policies in the UK government on the environment. They are; 1. Marine Fisheries 2.
Waste and recycling 3. Flooding and coastal change 4. Forests and woodland 5. Marine environment
6. Radioactive and nuclear substances and waste 7. Sustainable development 8. Business and the

Analyzing Cyclical Steam Injections Of A Heavy Oil Reservoir
For our senior project, we analyzed cyclical steam injections in a heavy oil reservoir using reservoir
simulations. We began the project as though we had been contracted to analyze a cyclical steam
injection project in a pay zone similar to the Clearwater formation in Cold Lake, Alberta. In this
heavy, dead oil reservoir the facilities, injectors, and producer are already set up in the field with a
seven spot orientation. The company wants further analysis on the project once the market declined,
requesting reservoir simulations be conducted over a six year period before proceeding. Through the
program CMG STARS, we were able to simulate production in a field with similar characteristics,
employing field data from technical papers referenced in this paper. The complex equations
simultaneously solved in CMG STARS including multiphase fluid flow and conservation equations
make the program an invaluable reservoir evaluation tool. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to
monitor the production responses to changes in steam injection parameters, compiling over 40
simulations. The injection was optimized with a total of 35 simulations after identifying the most
significant parameters impacting production. Net present values and cumulative production of oil and
water were analyzed to construct a recommendation for the project. In this paper, we will discuss the
model construction, sensitivity analysis, optimization, and economic analysis in greater detail.

numerous components which add to the degeneration of Macbeth of which three will be examined.
The three guides which contribute incredibly toward Macbeth s degeneration are the prescience which

lastly Macbeth s long time aspiration which drove his craving to be top dog. Macbeth s developing

There has been much discussion surrounding the name change from Saul to Paul beginning in Acts
chapter 13. It is shown throughout the New Testament after Saul s conversion that he called himself
Paul and only used the name Saul when he referred to incidents that occurred prior to his conversion.
Other commentaries attribute the name change to Saul s desire to not share the same name with
wicked King Saul from the Old Testament who persecuted David, Jesus ancestor. Many significant
people in the Bible were referred to by different names such as Jesus disciples Matthew (Levi), Simon
(Peter), Abraham (Abram), Sarah (Sarai), Jacob (Israel). The Bible does not offer a reason why Saul
changed his name to Paul or indicate whether it was inspired by God or not. The timing of the change
of name leads us to believe it was because of his conversion and desire to abandon his old nature and
walk in the calling God placed on his life.
The Damascus Experience The account of Saul s conversion is such an important theme that it is
reported in three different areas of the book (Acts 9:1 19, Acts 22:4 16 and Acts 26:9 19). Even though
these 3 verses differ in the amount of detail they contain, they all focus on different aspects of the
miraculous encounter. Charles

Fast Fashion On Fast Food Industry
Slow Fashion
Fast fashion is a force that needs constant change from retailers; new garments and new trends cycle
out as fast as a bi weekly basis, putting pressure on the industry to sell fast and cheap to the consumer.
However, with the news publishing more articles about the working conditions in factories,
comparable to the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh, and the run off pollution these factories produce,
the consumer is demanding more transparency in the supply chain. The introduction to slow fashion
came from this demand of wanting a better understanding of the garments we wear, similar to the slow
food movement that surfaced from the fast food industry. The slow food movement began in Italy in
the 1980s as a reaction to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Slowing down the consumption that is encouraged by fast fashion will help reduce raw materials and
decrease fashion production, allowing the earth time to regenerate and heal from the damage industry
creates to the environment (1B). Linda Greer, a senior scientist at the NRDC (Natural Resources
Defense Council, believes that the slow fashion movement will hold large retailers accountable for its
manufacturing aboard. Clean by Design is a program created by the NRDC that works with retailers to
green the fashion supply chain (4B). These types of programs will assist with the large companies
meeting the needs of the new movement of ethical consumerism where consumers are demanding that
the clothes they buy do not harm the environment or the workers who made them (11B, pg.200).
Another aspect of the slow fashion movement is supporting the development of local businesses by
focusing on using local resources and materials, these companies take the claim of slow and put it into
practice by creating high quality and durable pieces with attentiveness in an environmental way (1B).
Many small businesses keep traditional methods of garment and textile making, giving meaning to the
products and how they were made. (1B) Kate Fletcher, a design academic, explains, making a garment

The Plan B Pill
As attested by the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo, women
have the right to control the number and timing of their pregnancies. In order to exercise this right,
women throughout the world need access to the different types of contraceptives, as well as to safe
abortion services. While most contraceptives are used as preventative measures prior to or during
intercourse, some methods can be used within a short time after unprotected intercourse or failed use
of birth control, which are usually referred to as emergency contraceptive. Within the last 30 years, a
number of approaches, which seem safe and efficacious, have been developed as this method,
including the popular plan B pill. In 1999 the FDA approved the Plan B pill, which was the first
progestin only dedicated emergency contraceptive product. The plan B pill was developed by Teva
Pharmaceutical Industries, in which the Women s Capital Corporation (WCC), a privately controlled
company, organized in 1997, collaborated to introduce Plan B to the U.S. and Canadian industries, and
to develop other needed reproductive health products for women. WCC s efforts to promote and sell
Plan B exemplified a contemporary public/private sector partnership in areas such as health products
for women. Initially, Plan B was only available by prescription through Planned Parenthood clinics

Abraham Maslow s Work On Social Psychology
Abraham H. Maslow was born on April 1, 1908 in New York City, and passed away on June 8, 1970
in California. Dr. Maslow received all three (A.B., M.A. and Ph.D.) of his degrees from the University
of Wisconsin. He was also the founding editor of the Journal of Humanistic Psychology and the

Maslow spent most of his research on monkeys and primates, his topic of focus revolved around
motivation, hunger, social interaction, sexual behaviour, and learning and reproduction of learned
behaviours. In 1937, Dr. Maslow began his work on social psychology, and was a prominent figure
and founder of individual psychology as well. His focus during that time included personality and
culture, dominance, and personality and social behaviour in women. At the start of 1941, it was
evident that his works began to broaden and he delved into abnormal psychology, leadership, human
motivation, and developed his famous theory of self actualization in 1943 (Professional biography,

The Violence Of The Chicago Police Department
Chicago is a violent place to live. There is a very serious problem, in some areas of Chicago there is
no respect for human life. Children are victims of gun violence for being in the wrong place at the

Chicago because it had claimed too many lives of innocent people.
Banding guns will reduce violence. Will stablish order for Chicagoans. Stricter laws with more severe

The Career Of A Makeup Artist
Starting at the age of 11, there was this young girl who began to get really interested into makeup. Her
dad though, did not really like makeup at all so she snuck it on whenever she got to school and made
sure she took it off either while she and her brothers walked home or before her dad came to pick her
up. This young girl was only in the 6th grade, which is kind of reasonable now that she thinks back on

she like that expresses herself and who she am as a person? But as time went on and she got older and

You could work with big name brand companies like MAC, Sephora, Makeup Geek, and Ulta without
going to school for it, but just simply because you are good at it and you have the passion for it. Onto
the duties of being a makeup artist, which vary as to what you want to do in makeup artistry. Some
may have to sell makeup products if they are studying the businesses of the makeup, while others may
have the duty of applying the makeup, whether it be special effects makeup, glam makeup, or regular
day to day makeup which are the specific duties. General duties would be how to interact with clients,
being a makeup artist you have to know your client like what they want how they want it and what
they like. Without knowing any of that information you could be completely clueless and the client
may end up hating what you did for them. Personality is a huge thing when working with people, you

Analysis Of Suicide In The Trenches
Suicide in the Trenches
War, a slaughter of men that has gone on for hundreds thousands of years. One of the most gruesome
wars was WW1 which lasted for 4 years, 28 Jul. 1914 11 Nov. 1918. In this devastating war, the total
number of casualties includes about 11 million military personnel and about 7 million civilians. Many
of those soldiers were young men. The poem Suicide in the trenches written by Siegfried Sassoon tells
what the harsh trenches had being like and how many soldiers became depressed. Sassoon was an
officer who earned a military cross after carrying a wounded solider through enemy s crossfire. He
fought in many battles till 1917 where he would then have to leave the war due to Shellshock. Sassoon
criticized the political leaders who sent young men off to die in huge battles that seemed pointless and
while Sassoon was in Hospital he opposed the war by writing many poems including Does it Matter ,
The Hero and arguably the most tragic poem, Suicide in the Trenches .
SUICIDE IN THE TRENCHES
By Siegfried Sassoon
I knew a simple soldier boy
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
No one spoke of him again.
You smug faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you ll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

Sc 5812 Week 9 Industry Analysis
Given the broad spectrum that SIC 5812 covers, as stated before from buffets, cafeterias, fast food,
caterers, and more, anyone who purchases food or drink from an establishment other than a grocery
store specifically, are the primary target customers in the industry. Given the presence of layers , so to
speak in the industry, separating low and high price, limited menu and full menu, there are going to be
different customers in the different layers. It makes sense that there will be customers moving from
upper price layers to lower price layers, but not necessarily the other way around for obvious reasons.
From that conclusion, we can also conclude that the primary customers in the high price layers are
going to be higher income individuals ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As read earlier, restaurants experience very slim profit margins, and a down fall to the economy could
possibly lower or even eliminate those margins. One serious economic threat restaurants will be facing
in the near future is the rise in minimum income. Wages already account for upwards of 35% of a
restaurant s costs (10), and this increase will force restaurants to raise their prices or experience less
profits. Restaurants are considered a luxury product, not necessarily a necessity. This industry thrives
when the economy is growing and people have disposable income, however a decline in the economy
would undoubtedly cause much stress and worry among restaurant

The Legacy Of Lincoln Electric Company Culture
Lincoln Electric Company Culture
In 1906 John C. Lincoln incorporated his business East Cleveland, Ohio forming what we know today
as the Lincoln Electric Company. Though the company started out as a relatively small operation, it is
now one of the largest producers of welding Machines and electrodes. Branching out from Cleveland,
Ohio the company now has more factories in U.S. as well as in other countries. The company s
success has be attributes to several different factors, one of which is the company s unique culture.
Founder s Influence
An organization s culture can be defined as the system of shared assumptions, values, and beliefs that
show people what is appropriate and inappropriate behavior . Lincoln s culture has with stood the test
of time. The current business culture s roots can be traced back to its founder s younger brother. James
F. Lincoln was the figurehead of the company in the 1900 s assuming the titles of General Manger and
Vice President. It was James who helped mold the company philosophy. His Christian principles and
facilitation of multiple incentive and employee lead programs had a profoundly lasting effect on the
company even after his death. In his wake he left a mix of business culture types/practices and
artifacts to demonstrate those early principles and vision; that make up Lincoln s highly effective
organizational culture profile.

I Married A Dumbass
Hollywood is the maximum exponent of cinematography around the world, but not all the great
movies come from Hollywood. Around the world their thousands of movies that are often taken for
granted, because the big shark that Hollywood represents is far more important and the other little
fishes in the tank. I married a dumbass is the perfect example of that. Is an Argentinian romantic
comedy that could perfect be confused with a classic love comedy from Hollywood. I really enjoyed
watching this movie, I think it really helps that comes from my favorite genre, romantic comedy, with
a plot development based on how the relationship of the protagonist develops.
I married a dumbass, is what I will call a movie inside a movie. It portrays the life of two actors one
very respectfully and famous Fabian and another not so famous Florencia. Fabian and Flor meet on

The Necessity of Automated Fingerprint Identification...
Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) in law enforcement and border control
applications has heightened the need for ensuring that these systems are not compromised. While
several issues related to fingerprint system security have been investigated, including the use of fake
fingerprints for masquerading identity, the problem of fingerprint alteration or obfuscation has
received very little attention. Fingerprint obfuscation refers to the deliberate alteration of the
fingerprint pattern by an individual for the purpose of masking his identity. Several cases of
fingerprint obfuscation have been reported in the press. Also NFIQ algorithm used to evaluate the

Fingerprint quality assessment routines used inmost fingerprint identification systems, such as the
opensource NFIQ2 (NIST Fingerprint Image Quality) softwaremay be useful in detecting altered
fingerprints if thecorresponding images are indeed of poor quality. But, notall altered fingerprint
images have poor quality. Since existing fingerprint quality assessment algorithms are designed to
examine if an imagecontains sufficient information (say, minutiae) for matching, they have limited
capability in determining if an image is anatural fingerprint or an altered fingerprint.Altered
fingerprints are different from fake fingerprints. The use of fake fingers made ofglue, latex, or silicone
is a well publicized method to circumvent fingerprint systems. Altered fingerprints, however, are real
fingers that are used to conceal one s identity in order to evade identification by a biometric system.
While fake fingers are typically used by individuals toadopt another person s identity, altered fingers
are used to mask one s own identity. In order to detect attacks based on fake fingers, many software
and hardware solutions have been proposed. However, the problem of altered fingerprints has hitherto
not been studied in the literature and there are no reported techniques to identify them. Furthermore,
the lack of public databases comprised of altered fingerprint images has

Start Pharmaceutical Development Company
Start Pharmaceutical development companies are an example of a service characterized by high fixed
costs and low marginalized costs. The fixed costs are very high because of the extremely high costs of
developing a new drug. To bring a new drug to market costs hundreds of millions of dollars and is
very risky. For a drug to be brought to market the Food and Drug Administration must approve of the
drug. Then after the drug is approved it can be sold. The research and development costs are spent
before any units of the drug are produced, so the companies are left with very high fixed costs. The
highly automated drug production facilities also contribute to the high fixed costs because building the
high tech factories is very expensive. However, after the factory is built the marginal costs are very
low in this industry because producing 1 more tablet or dose of the drug is very cheap because of the
small amount of materials cost. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the company has patent protection or a government market restriction such as orphan drug
status, the company functions like a monopoly. Because no other company can manufacture the drug
while these barriers are in place, they are the only supplier. They face a rather inelastic demand curve
because sick people are likely to purchase the drug no matter the price. In the long run, after the
patents and barriers to entry have expired, drug companies function like monopolistic competitors.
Because the formula to manufacture the drug is no longer secret, other companies will produce
generic versions of the drug. This means the supply will increase and the market will reach a more
efficient, lower price of equilibrium. However, because the drug company will spend money on
advertising to differentiate the drug from generic brands the company will act like monopolistic
competitors not pure

drowning Midsouth area. This area which was highly dependent on transportation for economic
development had no representation against any legislative decisions. That is until the Midsouth

Lassiter took it upon himself to make sure the product was ordered. Another month went by and
Lassiter found out the product was still not implemented, Kovecki was too busy with another project
and was not able to get to it until mid April. Lassiter needed to get things moving; after all he told the
Board it would be completed by the end of March 2006. He took some steps for action, called a
meeting to inform his staff, set up appointments with UNITRAK for training himself and staff, yet the
project continued to lag and Lassiter had no choice but to ask Wallingford to intervene. He strongly
urged Hedges and Kovecki toward completion of the project. Gaps in the system continued, not only
did the staff complain about the software not being user friendly, UNITRAK openly admitted the
software was new and that they were open to adjustments and changes, that did not give the staff any
confidence. More problems came about when Kovecki attempted to transfer the information from the
old system to the new and was unsuccessful. Lassiter was at his wits end, sat down and let out a loud
sigh.
Many issues have been brought forth in this case study. I believe that I would propose the following
actions to the Executive Board.
First I would propose role modification changes. A Chief Information Officer (CIO) position would be
created and Lassiter would be the right candidate for it. Value is

How Do You Agree That Bill s Father Is A Reckless Driving
A behavioral psychologist would say that Bill participates in unhealthy and risky behavior such as
drinking heavily and driving recklessly because he has been influenced by her family to act like that.
For example, Bill s father could have been an alocholic and a careless driver. His father may drink a
lot, so naturally Bill may do the same and pick up his father s behaviors. Additionally, Bill s father
could have tought Bill how to drive. Assuming that Bill s father is a reckless driving, Bill could have
learned that it is acceptable to drive in a careless manner. Bill s father could have influenced Bill s
behavior and tendency to drink heavily, drive recklessly, and participate in unhealthy and risky
behavior. A socio cultural psychologist

railroad man known as Harry Thaw. Thaw and White were already rivals so as a way to get back at
White he began to pursuing Evelyn by showering her with gifts and money. He proposed to Evelyn
multiple times but was rejected because she had been warned by Stanford, of Thaw s mental
conditions and of his drug abuse. Another factor causing her to neglect his proposals was she wouldn t

Realism In Art And Art In The 19th Century
Realism began in France in the 1840 s. It was the first unconventional, anti institutional art movement.
It challenged Neoclassicism and Romanticism by diverting every ones attention to more social issues
which were brought by the disturbed and raging 19th century. In simpler words, Realism was, opposed
to the Romanticism ways of merely representing nature, an approach to art to position oneself in the
real , whether it was scientifically, morally, constitutionally, or even theoretically. When it comes to
theoretical beliefs, Realism incorporated the progressive aims of modernism. This was done through
pursuing new certainties, by reconsidering and capsizing customary systems of philosophies and
morals.
The realistic works developed with the introduction of photography. Through it, an invention of
representations was created and they looked accurately factual. ... Show more content on

Romantic emotionalism as well as classical naivety was banned entirely. From this era onwards, artists
felt the freedom to portray real life situations without aesthetics. Realism influenced impressionism
and many other contemporary art styles as it imitated a liberal modification in the prominence and
purpose of art overall. To this day, the characteristic style still manages to impact visual arts and thus
can be viewed as revolutionary. In the words Stokstad, Realism, reflected the positivist belief that art
should show unvarnished truth, and realists took up subjects that were generally regarded as not
important enough for a serious work of art . It depicted how the realm esteemed working men only for
the labor they achieved, rather than their social eccentricity. In short, Realism was a trigger to portray

Assets for the year ending December 31, 2010 increased by $240,359 (29.22%) when compared to the

The Central Bank has just advised of that they will be floating a new 20 year bond (GOTT 2031 Fixed
Rate, Coupon 6.25%) for the completion of the Solomon Hochoy highway extension project. Total
issue size is TTD1 billion.
Suggestion
The Bank s investment portfolio as at December 31, 2010 includes a 20 year gov t fixed rate bond,
coupon 5.875% that has 17 years remaining to maturity. This bond would have been purchased at a
discount which means that the yield to maturity would be more than 5.875%. On March 09, 2011 the
bond had a coupon rate of 6.60% and a market price of $106.92, therefore the market value of the
portfolio would have been improved. Based on a comparison of the government yield curve, there was
an upward trend, which suggests that return on the portfolio would be increased upon maturity. The
new gov t instrument had a coupon rate of 6.80% as at March 09, 2011 and given the upward rising of
the yield curve, it appears that a 20 year tenor would also give an increased average market yield and
therefore has the potential to increase the return on the total portfolio. Whilst the security is

The Lottery by Shirley Jackson
The Lottery, a ritual that no one has ever thought to question, which represents any action, behavior, or
idea that is passed down from one generation to the next that s accepted and followed unquestioningly,
no matter how illogical, strange, or cruel. The oldest denizen of the town, Old Man Warner, points out
that this is his seventy seventh year participating in the ritual, called simply the lottery. (Dubose 1)
The Lottery is so much a part of the town s culture, that the townspeople does not truly know what the
tradition means but rejoice at the it nonetheless. That is the force that drove the theme In Shirley
Jackson s the Lottery with her use of setting, symbolism, suspense, and characters as she exemplifies
blindly following tradition with obedience can be dangerous. The lottery is an extreme example of
what can happen when traditions are not questioned or addressed critically by new generations
because of the infamous word tradition.
Jackson lets us know the time of the lottery at the outset of the story. From the description of the men
s talk of tractors and taxes (Jackson 262) and the depiction of Mr. Summers wearing a clean white
shirt and blue jeans (Jackson 262), we may assume that we are in the twentieth century, making the
story s impact more immediate. But why does the author choose June 27 as the date on which the
village holds its lottery? The summer solstice, June 21, has already passed, and the Fourth of July is
yet to come. Lottery in June,

  • 3. A Beautiful Young Woman Steps Down From The Horse Drawn... A beautiful young woman steps down from the horse drawn carriage, one foot touching down onto the rough ground outside her second home. As she looks around, she cannot help soaking in all the wonderful scenery surrounding her. The fabulously large trees too tall to climb perfectly blanketing the hillside in the distance. The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering perfectly formed cotton clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of orange, yellow and brown. The grazing grass that surrounds still the brightest shade of green imaginable. There are many at this entrance of the castle, standing tall and at attention to welcome this young woman home. She feels as though she has been absent for too long. Everyone looks so different, and she feels they must think the same of her. She was just a young lady of thirteen when she was sent away in hiding, but now she is seventeen and has matured into a young woman. She moves slowly taking her first few steps, and approaches the handsome young man in front of her. Their eyes connect with one another, and the connection is not to be broken despite every distraction surrounding the two. They are both remembering their younger days. The days of a boy meeting a girl. The days of holding hands as they ran up and down these grounds just for play. The days of so much laughter, games, and unconditional affection. Oh how they had missed each other s company, and both feel the calm on their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While computers are an important tool in regards to teaching, they are also a large distraction and can show the students that their responsibilities (i.e. lecture, lab, exams) are not important. Bringing your computer to lecture for non class purposes such as email, shows the students that it is not worth your time to pay attention and sets a poor example. Looking at your personal computer in lab is a safety issue because you are not concentrating on what is happening in the lab and it indicates that the students are not your top priority. Personal computers detract from your focus, which needs to be entirely on your students at all times. B. Ethics If you are respectful in your relations with your students, they will be respectful of you. If you are cold and sharp or condescending in the discussion of their work or difficulties, they will feel uncomfortable and have as little contact with you as they can. Although you will want to be friendly with your students, you must remember that you are not one of their peers. • 7. Differences And Similarities Between Maslow And Taylor Frederick Winslow Taylor and Abraham Maslow This essay explores the similarities and differences between Abraham Maslow and Frederick Winslow Taylor. Primarily, they both had contrastive management theories. Maslow believed that people are motivated to achieve certain needs. When one need is fulfilled a person seeks to fulfil the next one, and so on (Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs, McLeod, 2007). Taylor, on the other hand, applied his engineering and scientific knowledge to management and developed a theory called Scientific Management Theory (Frederick Taylor: Theories, Principles and Contributions to Management). There is, however, a comparison between these management theorists as they both ignored the external environment of the business, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The external environment of an organisation are those factors outside of the company that affect the company s ability to function. These factors can include customers, the government, the economy, and competition (Five Components of an Organization s External Environment, George N. Root III). Although Maslow discovered ways that management can motivate employees, he ignored the fact that management must also influence customers to buy their products. Likewise, Taylor decided that using science would improve the workplace, but that does not mean that sales will increase. Both Maslow and Taylor did not take into account government regulations or the economy when outlining their management theories. If the economy was struggling, e.g. If there was a recession, Maslow s management theory may not be successful as worker s psychological needs such as a salary could not be fulfilled as the business may not have the money to do so (Five Components of an Organization s External Environment, George N. Root III). Likewise, Taylor believed that efficiency could be improved by utilizing scientific, engineering and mathematical analysis. However, it may not be possible for a business to operate in a scientific manner if the economy is in recession and does not have the capital to do so (Scientific Management: Theories, Principles and Definition). Maslow and Taylor also failed to recognise their competitors in the external environment. They both chose a management style that increased productivity, but this does not affect the demand for products. The first need that must be satisfied in Maslow s Hierarchy of needs is psychological, such as wages (Abraham Maslow s Hierarchy of Needs Motivational Model). Businesses who adopt this type of management style may offer a competitive salary to their employees to motivate them, which may also result in an increase in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This epic poem was told during the Anglo Saxon period where values such as LOF, Comitatus, and WYRD, or fame, companionship and fate, respectively, were important to their culture. First, LOF, or fame is important as it is seen throughout the whole epic poem. In this part of the epic poem, Beowulf is greeted by Wulfgar who says the king knows of Beowulf. Then Hrothgar s men gave places to the Geats yielded benches to the brave visitor, and led them to the feast (Raffel) . Hrothgar prepared a feast for Beowulf coming to Herot. • 12. Analyzing Cyclical Steam Injections Of A Heavy Oil Reservoir For our senior project, we analyzed cyclical steam injections in a heavy oil reservoir using reservoir simulations. We began the project as though we had been contracted to analyze a cyclical steam injection project in a pay zone similar to the Clearwater formation in Cold Lake, Alberta. In this heavy, dead oil reservoir the facilities, injectors, and producer are already set up in the field with a seven spot orientation. The company wants further analysis on the project once the market declined, requesting reservoir simulations be conducted over a six year period before proceeding. Through the program CMG STARS, we were able to simulate production in a field with similar characteristics, employing field data from technical papers referenced in this paper. The complex equations simultaneously solved in CMG STARS including multiphase fluid flow and conservation equations make the program an invaluable reservoir evaluation tool. Sensitivity analysis was conducted to monitor the production responses to changes in steam injection parameters, compiling over 40 simulations. The injection was optimized with a total of 35 simulations after identifying the most significant parameters impacting production. Net present values and cumulative production of oil and water were analyzed to construct a recommendation for the project. In this paper, we will discuss the model construction, sensitivity analysis, optimization, and economic analysis in greater detail. Although the constraints of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There has been much discussion surrounding the name change from Saul to Paul beginning in Acts chapter 13. It is shown throughout the New Testament after Saul s conversion that he called himself Paul and only used the name Saul when he referred to incidents that occurred prior to his conversion. Other commentaries attribute the name change to Saul s desire to not share the same name with wicked King Saul from the Old Testament who persecuted David, Jesus ancestor. Many significant people in the Bible were referred to by different names such as Jesus disciples Matthew (Levi), Simon (Peter), Abraham (Abram), Sarah (Sarai), Jacob (Israel). The Bible does not offer a reason why Saul changed his name to Paul or indicate whether it was inspired by God or not. The timing of the change of name leads us to believe it was because of his conversion and desire to abandon his old nature and walk in the calling God placed on his life. The Damascus Experience The account of Saul s conversion is such an important theme that it is reported in three different areas of the book (Acts 9:1 19, Acts 22:4 16 and Acts 26:9 19). Even though these 3 verses differ in the amount of detail they contain, they all focus on different aspects of the miraculous encounter. Charles

While most contraceptives are used as preventative measures prior to or during intercourse, some methods can be used within a short time after unprotected intercourse or failed use of birth control, which are usually referred to as emergency contraceptive. Within the last 30 years, a number of approaches, which seem safe and efficacious, have been developed as this method, including the popular plan B pill. • 35. Realism In Art And Art In The 19th Century Realism began in France in the 1840 s. It was the first unconventional, anti institutional art movement. It challenged Neoclassicism and Romanticism by diverting every ones attention to more social issues which were brought by the disturbed and raging 19th century. In simpler words, Realism was, opposed to the Romanticism ways of merely representing nature, an approach to art to position oneself in the real , whether it was scientifically, morally, constitutionally, or even theoretically. When it comes to theoretical beliefs, Realism incorporated the progressive aims of modernism. This was done through pursuing new certainties, by reconsidering and capsizing customary systems of philosophies and morals. The realistic works developed with the introduction of photography. Through it, an invention of representations was created and they looked accurately factual. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Romantic emotionalism as well as classical naivety was banned entirely. From this era onwards, artists felt the freedom to portray real life situations without aesthetics. Realism influenced impressionism and many other contemporary art styles as it imitated a liberal modification in the prominence and purpose of art overall. To this day, the characteristic style still manages to impact visual arts and thus can be viewed as revolutionary. In the words Stokstad, Realism, reflected the positivist belief that art should show unvarnished truth, and realists took up subjects that were generally regarded as not important enough for a serious work of art . It depicted how the realm esteemed working men only for the labor they achieved, rather than their social eccentricity. In short, Realism was a trigger to portray the hardships of pastoral ... Scenario 3 March 9th, 2011 The Central Bank has just advised of that they will be floating a new 20 year bond (GOTT 2031 Fixed Rate, Coupon 6.25%) for the completion of the Solomon Hochoy highway extension project. Total issue size is TTD1 billion. Suggestion The Bank s investment portfolio as at December 31, 2010 includes a 20 year gov t fixed rate bond, coupon 5.875% that has 17 years remaining to maturity. This bond would have been purchased at a discount which means that the yield to maturity would be more than 5.875%. On March 09, 2011 the bond had a coupon rate of 6.60% and a market price of $106.92, therefore the market value of the portfolio would have been improved. Based on a comparison of the government yield curve, there was an upward trend, which suggests that return on the portfolio would be increased upon maturity. The new gov t instrument had a coupon rate of 6.80% as at March 09, 2011 and given the upward rising of the yield curve, it appears that a 20 year tenor would also give an increased average market yield and therefore has the potential to increase the return on the total portfolio. • 37. The Lottery by Shirley Jackson The Lottery, a ritual that no one has ever thought to question, which represents any action, behavior, or idea that is passed down from one generation to the next that s accepted and followed unquestioningly, no matter how illogical, strange, or cruel. The oldest denizen of the town, Old Man Warner, points out that this is his seventy seventh year participating in the ritual, called simply the lottery. (Dubose 1) The Lottery is so much a part of the town s culture, that the townspeople does not truly know what the tradition means but rejoice at the it nonetheless. That is the force that drove the theme In Shirley Jackson s the Lottery with her use of setting, symbolism, suspense, and characters as she exemplifies blindly following tradition with obedience can be dangerous. The lottery is an extreme example of what can happen when traditions are not questioned or addressed critically by new generations because of the infamous word tradition. From the description of the men s talk of tractors and taxes (Jackson 262) and the depiction of Mr. Summers wearing a clean white shirt and blue jeans (Jackson 262), we may assume that we are in the twentieth century, making the story s impact more immediate. But why does the author choose June 27 as the date on which the village holds its lottery? The summer solstice, June 21, has already passed, and the Fourth of July is yet to come.
