The House of Wisdom and its Contribution to the...
Part A: The purpose of this investigation will be to assess how the House of Wisdom contributed to
the preservation of knowledge. This question is important because it addresses the academic advances
with the Islamic civilization that lead to new information. To determine the extent of the contribution
to the preservation of knowledge, this investigation will examine the achievements al Khawarizmi
made in science and the achievements that were made in this library and how they were preserved
through time. The area of research will be focused during the time of the Islamic Golden Age, 750
1258, and in the city of Baghdad, where the House of Wisdom flourished. A method that will be used

Long before his reign, al Ma mun s great grandfather, al Mansur, began the translation movement.
This movement was the foundation of the House of Wisdom; it spread the idea that seeking
knowledge is a necessary factor of life to society. Among the many scholars working in the House of
Wisdom, there was Al Khawarizmi, known as the father of algebra. Born around 800 in Baghdad, al
Khwarizmi worked in the House of Wisdom as a scholar. Being involved in the center s translation of
ancient scientific knowledge helped him develop a unique knowledge of the accumulated wisdom of
the world. His importance lies in his discoveries of mathematical knowledge which was later
transferred to Arab and European scholars. His masterpiece, a book of clear explanations of what
would become algebra, was his entire life s work compiled into one collection of information. The
word algebra comes from the Arabic word, al jabr, which means completion . In his work, al
Khwarizmi explains the principles of solving linear and quadratic equations, the concept that an
equation can be created to find the value of an unknown variable. Another crucial work of al
Khwarizmi s was The Book on the Art of Reckoning of the Hindus, which introduced the numbering
system used in the Islamic culture to the west. This is the numerical system that is still used today and
offered many advantages over the existing Roman numerals. An

The World Labor Market
The stabilization of the labor supply created the world market labor (Lecture, February 25, 2014). For
example, this resulted in millions of people to come to America and involve themselves in working for
our country. However, migrants tend to always get paid little amounts which does not really help them
out the way that they need or hope for but they stick around anyways.
In addition, increased migration primarily helps the government s economic state. For instance, the
United States has a large labor market. There are numerous tasks that need to be competed on a daily
basis. By hiring migrants they are able to pay them extremely little compared to the profits that are
being made. Which means the government s economy is highly dependent on global workers
(Robinson,267). This is why emigrants can be seen as heroes. And they should be treated with
decency because dependent countries such as the US cannot afford to lose them (Robinson,267).
In the article by Alejandro Portes, he explains that capital being global and labor being local is nothing
new. That the modern world system has grown because of the abroad labor system occurring.
(Portes,152). He also mentions that the process of transnational communities in the world system
resulted in many advantages. However, he says those advantages are entirely on the side of those able
to...thus turning globalization into the final apotheosis of capital... (Portes, 152). Overall a global
capitalist society secures the economy of

Analysis Of Wells Fargo Company
Introduction
Knowledge is considered as one of the most important and competitive resource for sustenance of the
organisation (Zack, 1999). It can be compared to the strategic resource that can be used and applied in
various frames of the organisation. Experienced managers in the organisations believe that company
can receive strategic advantage through knowledge and not the strategies or actions implemented by
competitors. Knowledge can be regarded as a strong approach that opens numerous ways of success. It
is that weapon that help organisation to evaluate solutions in financial and other professional

Tiny Tim Quotes
What is Tiny Tim s role in this novella? Explain. Why does Scrooge seem to care about him?
Tiny Tim s role is to resemble the effect of the actions scrooge takes part in. If Scrooge would have
kept the same negative attitude towards Bob Cricket, then as the spirit of the future showed, tiny Tim
would die. However if Scrooge were to change his actions towards Tim s father and help him and his
family in a positive way he would survive. Scrooge seems to care about Tim because after being
reminded of his own childhood and the way he was treated while also realizing how he affects Tim
and his family, he travels with the ghost of christmas present and starts to feel the need to know if tiny
Tim will be in the future. He feels sympathy towards tiny Tim because while suffering a serious

caused Scrooge to be more open to listening/trusting what the ghosts had to say.
Why did Bob Cratchit continue to show Scrooge respect even though Scrooge treated him so poorly?
Bob Cratchit had a different perspective of life than scrooge. Bob tried to make everything around him
positive unlike Scrooge who was always filled with negative thoughts and ideas. With Bob s
personality even if something wasn t all great he would do his best to make it as positive as it could
possibly be. With his attitude towards things he took Scrooge s negative thoughts and did his best to
make them positive. He showed respect to Scrooge because he wanted to be the better person and
hopefully try to reflect some of his nicer personality onto Scrooge.

For this project, we used two knowledge from different school classes to do an informative video to
help students who read I am Malala or Sophie Scholl. Our team choose the Hitler s youth for our
subject to help people who read the book Sophie Scholl. We talked about what the children did in
those camps and their way of living. Our learning in history helped us categorize and understand our
information because we had already learned few things about World War II. We knew the context of
this period. With this information already acquired, the research went faster and it was possible to

Art History And Its Impact On Art
Art history allows for a greater understanding of the progression of human thought and how
conditions from one time period to another are reflected in art. Humanity represents itself through art
and by doing so we are able to take a deeper look into the mentality and emotions that were held
within a certain time period. Human studies such as cultural studies or history only highlight small
specific areas of humanity while art history combines the two and gives a comprehensive look into all
factors that influenced not only the art of a certain time but the events that influenced certain styles.
Through the study of art history we are able to see the different events that caused shifts in prospective
and influenced changes in art styles. For example the iconoclasm during the protestant reformation
drastically altered the type of art that was being produced and greatly limited forward progression of
certain styles. All images of God, Jesus, and any other paintings or sculptures that depicted images of
false idols were destroyed or removed from view. In ancient Egypt, the carved visages of some
pharaohs were obliterated by their successors. The destruction of art was used as a way to influence
ideas through out a community of people. By limiting the growth of art, the recorded history of
Christianity was greatly altered. Humanity is constantly changing and evolving in relation to its
surroundings as viewed through the study of art. Art is all encompassing of a multitude of

The San Francisco Earthquakes Analysis
The San Francisco Earthquakes
The effects of the writer s impression vary depending on who s reading it. They leave a tone that takes
charge of their emotions, and puts it into a perspective which the readers can understand. Having a
different set of imagery for their stories, the writers continue discussing about the same topic. Twain
and London s words become vivid to the readers, and leave a very distinguished imagery of the
setting.
Jack London, a citizen of San Francisco who s lived there between 20 30 years; he very well knows

Twain mainly focused on the people, mostly because he found them to be much more interesting than
the buildings. He viewed the people, and realized how everyone has the same reaction when it comes
to an earthquake. So seeing it from a first person perspective, anyone is to learn what to do in a
dangerous situation such as the one that occurred. Being new and not understanding anything, he
became fully aware no matter what religion, gender, color, or age, if a building begins to shake while
the person is inside, get out.
Twain and London both different in tone; while seemed to be excited, the other one seems to be
serious. One cares about the effects of the people, while the other matters on the buildings. Although
both topics are the same, they change due to the fact that one is a visitor and the other has lived there
since the moment they were born. No matter what opposite opinions they had on the situation, both

Why Batman Is Better Than Spider-Man
Can Batman be a bit better than spider man? Batman can beat spider man using his own attacks
against him. One weapon batman can use to his advantage is the batarang, which can cut spider man s
silk, and has a variety of memes funnier than spider man s memes. Spider man s life is not as bad as
Batman s life, because of his parents dying; He then becomes dark and more dank than Spider man.
Spider man got his powers from a radioactive spider, while Batman got his powers from seeing his
parents die from a scrub like thug that has no life and no memes.

Spider man s life is worse than batman s because, his grandfather said the more luckier someone is
than the other, they will have bad luck paired with them to balance life out. Same goes for bad luck,
when it is also paired with good luck for balancing life because if balancing was filthy, nothing would
be possible in the universe. For battles against the villains, spider man used his silk and the
environment for his advantage, while Batman also used the environment to his advantage, he had also
used his intelligence for the upper hand in battles. Bats and spiders do relate to their thinking like both
batman and spider man unlike some spiders, some do not need silk to catch their prey.
Jumping spiders never need silk. They can hop almost forty times their body weight. Some people like
jumping spiders because they look cute up close, while others think spiders are ugly and bushy. Some
people despise the arachnids because they look creepy and crawly, but it is more scared of people than
of spiders. Spiders are usually scared of humans because they are smaller than humans and the fact
they can be out runned. Bats are a different story compared to all the animals in the

visible to the American public and politicians. Without the contribution of the disabilities rights
movement there would not have been an ADA. Like the civil rights movement before the people with
disabilities sat in federal buildings, marched through the streets to protest the injustice. Also, they
sought justice in the courts (Mayerson, 1992). According to Mayerson (1992, P 2) From a legal

Core Aeration
How Can Core Aeration in Lexington KY Benefit You?
Soil needs to breathe under the surface of vegetation, and when we talk about that, we talk about
aeration. Everything that is living needs oxygen for combustion of fuel to procure energy, for the

Jackson Pollock Research Paper
The abstract expressionist whose work I admire the most is the work of Jackson Pollock. He was born
on January 28, 1912 in Cody, Wyoming. He was an influential American Painter, and the leading force
behind the abstract expressionist movement in the art world (Barbara Moore). When Pollock was 8,
his father, who was an abusive alcoholic, left the family, and Pollock s older brother, Charles, became
like a father to him. While the family was living in Los Angeles, Pollock discovered his passion for
art. After some time Pollock became addicted to drinking. He tried to resolve his problems by working
to keep him busy. But despite being busy with work, Pollock could not stop drinking. In 1942, Pollock

Pollock s needs, Krasner was also unable to work. Their marriage became troubled, and Pollock s

Krasner left for Paris to give Pollock space. Just after 10 p.m. on August 11, 1956, Pollock, who had

died on December 1818 and after this shocking event Keats is unable to make any appreciable

tries to continue the poem but he only gives the reason in his letters of not writing about it. He writes

Evolution Of Object Oriented Technology
ABSTRACT
This paper is discuss about the evolution of Object oriented technology in software design and
implementation and it s role in the present market for developing server side scripting or web based
products. There are many Object oriented languages are available in the market but in all of them
companies choose to use open source languages like Java, .NET , C++, C#, and Visual Basic .NET
etc. The call for these languages has improved because the license cost is very less, negligible or zero.
Because of these open source languages, it is easy to find applicable libraries and development source
code while product development. The infrastructure cost such as testing tools or development IDE s is
also nominal or freely available. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

HISTORY OF SIMULAAND SMALLTALK
Simula:
The theory of objects in the Simula 67 was introduced by the discrete event simulation which was the
outcome of the formal programming language, designed in 1960 s, created by Kristen Niggard has and
Ole Johan Dahl of Norwegian Computing Center (NCC) in Oslo. Simula 67 has been influenced by
the C.A.R. and SIMSCRIPT. Tony Hoare s proposed the Record classes. As part of the explicit
programming model the Classes and objects or their instances were presented in Simula. The
Automatic Garbage collection concept that was created earlier for the functional programming
language Lisp was used by Simula. For the study and improvement of ship movements and the
contents on them via cargo ports, Simula was utilized for creating the physical model of ships and the
content that they carried. Many languages were influenced by Simula 67 such as derivatives of LISP
(CLOS), Smalltalk, Pascal, and C++ Object.
The Smalltalk language:
Smalltalk was developed at Xerox PARC by Alan Kay and others in the 1970s. The term object

Unit 2 Making Food Dye Lab
Lab II: Making Food Dye

Abstract
In this paper, an artificial food dye will be made to mimic the color of Full Throttle. To determine
what food dye are needed, Full Throttle will be put through a spectrometer to determine what
wavelengths are absorbed. Specific wavelengths absorbed will correspond to specific colors absorbed.
It was determined that yellow 5 and yellow 6 will be used to make our artificial food dye to mimic
Full Throttle. Using Beer s Law, it was determined that a concentration of 0.0000236 moles of Yellow
5 and a concentration of 0.0001494 moles of yellow 6. Using our line of best fit from the absorption
graphs, it was determined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When making the absorption graphs for the yellow 5 and yellow 6, the lines of best fit were giving
numbers that were extremely small. After help from the TA, it was found that our concentrations used
where twice as small of a concentration compared to what was actually used for Full Throttle. To
correct this the molarity s were multiplied by ½. For example when finding the x value in our equation
y=2.044x+0.2067 the answer is x = 7.28 5 moles. To correct this, that number is multiplied by 0.5 to
get the correct value of 3.64*10^ 5. This new number is what was used in the equation c1v1=c2v2.
After the solution was made to mimic Full Throttle it was discovered that the beverage only had one
food dye. The experiment was intended to have a beverage with two food dyes present. To make up
for this, orange PowerAde was used and the experiment was repeated for orange PowerAde. The
solution was made for the orange PowerAde and its absorption graph was compared to that of the
diluted orange PowerAde solution. Comparing the two graphs, have the same peaks although these
peaks are at different absorption levels. Since the two graphs have the same peaks it is safe to assume
that the same food dyes are present in both solutions. It is important to note that there are two peaks in
each graph despite only seeing one peak. This is because both peaks are located so close to each other
that they merge as one overall peak. When comparing the two

Memento Essay
As already mentioned, the story of Memento is told backwards and starts at the end of its right
chronological order (scene V), where Leonard kills Teddy. Therefore, the story ends at sequence A,
where Lenny kills Jimmy the drug dealer. The colour scenes alternate with the black and white scenes
and depict the main events of the story since the viewer experiences everything through Leonard s
point of view.Since the story is told backwards, scene by scene the audience gets more information
about the reasons for the murder Lenny commits in the very first sequence of the film. It is kind of a
puzzle solving. The viewers find new pieces of the puzzle in every new scene. Just like a detective

Taking a Look at Slime Mold
INTRODUCTION:
What is a Dictyostelium discoideum? D. discoideum commonly referred to, as slime mold is a species
of amoebas that are soil living; they belong to the phylum Mycetozoa. D. discoideum is a eukaryote
that transitions from a collection of unicellular amoebae into a multicellular slug and then into a
fruiting body within its one lifetime. The unicellular phase consists of solitary amoeba feeding on
bacteria and reproducing by binary fission. When faced with starvation, the amoeba collects into
aggregates and develops into multicellular fruiting bodies. This particular multicellular organism is
only multicellular under the certain environmental conditions that demand of it.
THE LIFE CYCLE:
The life cycle of D. discoideum it is most easily defined as the starting with the spore stage. Spores are
very small, pod shaped, and capable of sprouting a unicellular amoeba when plated on moist agar.
After it has hatched, the amoeba enters a vegetative state during which the amoebae then feeds by
consuming bacteria, and they constantly divide to generate independent daughter cells. Once the
amoeba has reached a certain number it is more dependent on their source of food, they begin to
aggregate and stream toward the next portion called the main collection point. This is now making its
way to the collection point where they form cell streams, which then collect into larger rivers.
Streaming is the product of chemotaxis and in response to the waves of cAMP it began

Characteristics Of Odysseus
As a kid, think of that one superhero that was on the TV or in comic books. What are some qualities
that they had? Maybe Superman came to mind, who was so strong that he could lift up entire buildings
in the grasp of one hand, or stop a moving train from falling off a broken bridge. It could have been
the Flash, who had the ability to run around the world in seconds. He could run so fast that earth
would spin in the opposite direction. Both of these heroes would use their abilities for good, saving
innocent people from villains and natural disasters. They have standout qualities that make them the
heroes that they are. There could be people who come to mind that may not have these superpowers,
but are still considered heroes. For example, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If he had not told the cyclops the false name, than all of the other cyclops would have come down to
help the injured cyclops, and his crew and him would have ended up being killed. In this situation,
Odysseus was able to save the lives of him and his crew by thinking of a way shut down one of
Polyphemus defenses. The way he does this is not obvious, and requires cleverness to think it up. This
plays into his image as a hero. Odysseus cleverness helps him get out of many situations, which but
only leads into more of his favorable qualities. One of those qualities being his great leadership and
his ability to guide his crew out of difficult situations. An example of Odysseus leadership in The Iliad
is when Odysseus comes up with the idea to attack troy with the trojan horse. The city of troy was
enclosed in walls, making it very difficult for Odysseus to attack them. They would need a great plan
in order for them to be able to attack. This is where Odysseus steps in. He comes up with the idea to
create the trojan horse, and put his men inside. The trojans then take this horse inside their city, and
believe that it is a gift from the spartans. The men inside the horse then come out during the night time
and kill everybody in the city, and return victorious. This example shows exemplary leadership by
Odysseus, because he comes up a brilliant plan to get inside the city, and then takes his army to
victory. If nobody had

Natural Gas
Natural Gas Natural gas is another means of energy source that provides heating and electricity to
many individuals. It is a natural mixture of methane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and hydrogen sulfide.
Natural gas was first found back in 1626 when the French found the natives lighting gas seeping in
and out of the ground around Lake Erie. When natural gas was first introduced into civilization as a
means of energy source it was not efficient nor was it environmentally friendly. It was first in the
United States in Baltimore, Maryland in 1816 when it was used to light the street lamps. The first well
that was dug for Natural Gas purposes was in 1821 in Fredonia, New York by William Hart. He is

Kent State Shooting In The Vietnam War
During war, chaos occurs when there is conflict between the people and the authority of a country. The
Vietnam War was a time of extreme disagreement between the government and the people. People of
the United States did not want to be involved in the Vietnam war and felt very passionate about this.
On May 4, 1970 students at Kent State protested the war. Feeling that the protest was becoming wild,
the National Guard was called in. The protest did not die down, so the soldiers shot about fifteen
people. Four students were killed and at least nine were injured. This shooting caused a great quantity
of chaos and argument among the people, government, and media. All three have different views of
what took place. The people view it as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The National Guard claims that their actions were to end the chaos of the protest. A website states,
Outraged over the use of tear gas, the beatings, and the bayoneting, the students conducted another
rally on Monday. Forty minutes later, they opened fire on the crowd of students in a thirteen second
sustained volley in which at least sixty seven rounds were fired. Four students were killed, and nine
were wounded ( Kent State Shootings ). The shootings were just from the National Guard s
perspective because the crowd was very rowdy and the senior chief thought it was the proper action to
take. Also, the National Guard easily could have taken out the entire crowd, but only shot a few that
they thought were necessary. An article says, Four students at Kent State University, two of them
women, were shot to death this afternoon by a volley of National Guard gunfire. At least 8 other
students were wounded ( 4 Kent State Students Killed by Troops ). They injured a total of at least
twelve students out of the many protestors. This they felt was a very reasonable act for the situation.
The government believes the shootings are a very just action, resembling the government s view on
sending troops to the Vietnam

James Parkinson And Geisenheimer s Essay
Did you know that 60,000 people are diagnosed with Parkinson s and 700,000 people suffer from
Alzheimer s each year? Alzheimer s and Parkinson s date back to the 1700 s and 1800 s to when they
were discovered. These illnesses are just as terrifying to the families as it is to the patient. Because of
the scare in the diseases, these families wanted answers. The patients were sent to James Parkinson
and Alois Alzheimer which were the doctors who diagnosed these illnesses. Alois Alzheimer was born
on June 14, 1864 in a small Bavarian town in Marktbreit Germany (Alois, A1). He was born into a
catholic family and had an early interest in science. His father was a royal notary in the kingdom of
Bavaria, and because of his first wife s death during child birth, he remarried and had 6 more children
wife his deceased wife s sister, in which Alois was the first born of his second marriage. As a young
boy, Alois had grew up being taught that the strong looked over the weak. Years later, in 1894, he had

Deforestation Of The Tropical Rainforest
Deforestation of the tropical rainforest in Brazil and surrounding countries
I. Introduction
Tropical rainforests are unique ecosystems with specific features that make them a world patrimony.
Today about forests cover about 31% of the planet s land. However, 46 58 thousand square miles of
forest is destroyed yearly, equivalent to 36 football fields per minute. Besides its ecological value,
they provide several exploitable resources, which make these forests important in an economical
perspective. Most tropical rainforests in the world belong to developing countries, where deforestation
has been recently occurring at high rates due to the development of agribusiness. Brazil, which can

Figure 1: General biome classification map for Brazil. The darker green area is the Amazon forest.
Figure 2: Evolution of clear cut deforestation in Amazonia from 1988 to 2011. The reduction from
1988 until 1991 is attributed to the Brazil s economic recession, when the government lacked funds
for road construction and settlement projects. The peak in 1995 is a reflection of an economic
recovery in Brazil, and economic reforms increased the availability of capital. The fall in 1996 and
1997 is a result of falling land values and unattractive land speculation. The increase from 2001 to
2004 is a result of a sharp growth in the international market for soybeans and especially beef
(Fearnside, 2005). From this point, the oscillations between the deforestation rates can be explained by
the fluctuations of beef and soybean prices in the international market, the concession of land in the
agrarian reform (both increasing deforestation), a higher density of conservation units, and penalties
applied by the federal government (both decreasing deforestation).
Grasslands started to substitute rainforest areas in the Amazon for several reasons, and now cattle
ranching is one of the most lucrative activities in this region. The growth of soybean plantations is

Corporate Influence And Political Corruption
In today s society many Americans believe that there is corruption within politics. According to
Jeffrey Milyo author of Corporate Influence and Political Corruption, a nationally representative
opinion survey done in 2008 states that, a little more than 50 percent of respondents agreed that
corruption in the federal government is widespread and an extremely serious concern, while fewer
than five percent considered corruption in the federal government to be rare or not a concern
(Konisky, Milyo, and Richardson, 2008). This leads many Americans to believe that politics is an
inherently corrupt activity (Milyo, 2014). This of option of course can be looked at from many
different perspectives. With many major corporations contributing to political campaigns; it is
assumed that these politicians are being bought to further benefit the corporation s agenda. Therefore,
the perspective of Ethical Egoism; contributing to these campaigns is deemed justified since it would
further benefit the company. A politician who invokes an ethical egoism view would believe that their
actions of accepting contributions from a major cooperation would be justified since it helps them
achieve their goal of entering their chosen political position. Since the politician is achieving what
they wish then to them, their actions are justified.
If you follow the logic of utilitarianism, one would argue that contributing to campaigns to benefits
the company and its employees and that insures that

  • 3. The World Labor Market The stabilization of the labor supply created the world market labor (Lecture, February 25, 2014). For example, this resulted in millions of people to come to America and involve themselves in working for our country. However, migrants tend to always get paid little amounts which does not really help them out the way that they need or hope for but they stick around anyways. In addition, increased migration primarily helps the government s economic state. For instance, the United States has a large labor market. There are numerous tasks that need to be competed on a daily basis. By hiring migrants they are able to pay them extremely little compared to the profits that are being made. Which means the government s economy is highly dependent on global workers (Robinson,267). This is why emigrants can be seen as heroes. And they should be treated with decency because dependent countries such as the US cannot afford to lose them (Robinson,267). In the article by Alejandro Portes, he explains that capital being global and labor being local is nothing new. That the modern world system has grown because of the abroad labor system occurring. (Portes,152). He also mentions that the process of transnational communities in the world system resulted in many advantages. HISTORY OF SIMULAAND SMALLTALK Simula: The theory of objects in the Simula 67 was introduced by the discrete event simulation which was the outcome of the formal programming language, designed in 1960 s, created by Kristen Niggard has and Ole Johan Dahl of Norwegian Computing Center (NCC) in Oslo. Simula 67 has been influenced by the C.A.R. and SIMSCRIPT. Tony Hoare s proposed the Record classes. As part of the explicit programming model the Classes and objects or their instances were presented in Simula. The Automatic Garbage collection concept that was created earlier for the functional programming language Lisp was used by Simula. For the study and improvement of ship movements and the contents on them via cargo ports, Simula was utilized for creating the physical model of ships and the content that they carried. Many languages were influenced by Simula 67 such as derivatives of LISP (CLOS), Smalltalk, Pascal, and C++ Object. Unit 2 Making Food Dye Lab Lab II: Making Food Dye By: Alexander Medina Lab Partners: Maxwell Yurs, Eugene Floersch, Masih Harri Abstract In this paper, an artificial food dye will be made to mimic the color of Full Throttle. To determine what food dye are needed, Full Throttle will be put through a spectrometer to determine what wavelengths are absorbed. Specific wavelengths absorbed will correspond to specific colors absorbed. It was determined that yellow 5 and yellow 6 will be used to make our artificial food dye to mimic Full Throttle. Using our line of best fit from the absorption graphs, it was determined ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When making the absorption graphs for the yellow 5 and yellow 6, the lines of best fit were giving numbers that were extremely small. After help from the TA, it was found that our concentrations used where twice as small of a concentration compared to what was actually used for Full Throttle. To correct this the molarity s were multiplied by ½. For example when finding the x value in our equation y=2.044x+0.2067 the answer is x = 7.28 5 moles. To correct this, that number is multiplied by 0.5 to get the correct value of 3.64*10^ 5. This new number is what was used in the equation c1v1=c2v2. After the solution was made to mimic Full Throttle it was discovered that the beverage only had one food dye. The experiment was intended to have a beverage with two food dyes present. To make up for this, orange PowerAde was used and the experiment was repeated for orange PowerAde. The solution was made for the orange PowerAde and its absorption graph was compared to that of the diluted orange PowerAde solution. Comparing the two graphs, have the same peaks although these peaks are at different absorption levels. Since the two graphs have the same peaks it is safe to assume that the same food dyes are present in both solutions. It is important to note that there are two peaks in each graph despite only seeing one peak. This is because both peaks are located so close to each other that they merge as one overall peak. D. discoideum commonly referred to, as slime mold is a species of amoebas that are soil living; they belong to the phylum Mycetozoa. D. discoideum is a eukaryote that transitions from a collection of unicellular amoebae into a multicellular slug and then into a fruiting body within its one lifetime. The unicellular phase consists of solitary amoeba feeding on bacteria and reproducing by binary fission. When faced with starvation, the amoeba collects into aggregates and develops into multicellular fruiting bodies. This particular multicellular organism is only multicellular under the certain environmental conditions that demand of it. THE LIFE CYCLE: The life cycle of D. discoideum it is most easily defined as the starting with the spore stage. Spores are very small, pod shaped, and capable of sprouting a unicellular amoeba when plated on moist agar. After it has hatched, the amoeba enters a vegetative state during which the amoebae then feeds by consuming bacteria, and they constantly divide to generate independent daughter cells. Once the amoeba has reached a certain number it is more dependent on their source of food, they begin to aggregate and stream toward the next portion called the main collection point. This is now making its way to the collection point where they form cell streams, which then collect into larger rivers.
