The Night Of The Burning House Research Paper
The Night of the Burning House Hurry up grab the kids we need to get out there s no time to save
ANYTHING!! June 20, 1666 it was the day that I have lost something so valuable to me. The day was
going good with my family like any other day. As the sun goes down we go in the house to get ready
for bed. For a second I felt like something was going to happen. As I go to sleep like another night, I
wake up to the screams of my name MICHAEL! MICHAEL! and the screams of FIRE! . I was
frightened of what was happening. I had to get up and I said hurry up grab the kids we need to get out
there s no time to save anything as we run outside screaming HURRY HURRY!! . I started to tear up
as I stood there watching the house get consumed of

The Poems Of Andrea, Fra Lippo, And The Artistic Life At...
Browning s intellectual curiosity and vivid interest in men were allied with a singular aloofness from
the movements and revolutions of his time. Browning s mind was impervious to doubt, and his
confidence in the value of life was constitutionally unshakable, it means intensely, and means good:
(Browning, Fra Lippo Lippi, line 314). His vision is so clear and comprehensive that he viewed his
subject on numerous planes. He makes his readers see and understand each of his characters in their
habit as they lived and thought and purposed. The poems of Andrea, Fra lippo are an epitome of the
city s artistic life at the zenith of its fame. Browning s attitude towards Art follows certain
characteristic. Firstly, he derives pleasures from every exercise of creative power like the swiftly
emerging conception in Fra Lippo s mind, Secondly; he maintains a consistent attitude towards both
technique and connoisseurship. The faultless drawing of Andrea del Sarto. Simply betray the
impotence when called upon exercise the crucial function of the artist. Duke of Ferrara is soundly
equipped with critical taste and knowledge. But he toils not, neither does he spin; he contributes
nothing; he is content with the mere pride of possession. Thirdly, creation, technique, is all of them of
less significance to him than the soul of artist. This is partly because the artist is in many ways the
symbolic figure of humane for him. In Fra Lippo Lippi and Andrea del Sarto he presents the

Common Stressors To International Students Essay
Nowadays, a great many of international students come to universities and clolleges in United States
(U.S). Growing in a different culture, they tend to have distinct problems compared with local
American students. College counselors often need to make some adjustment of the theories and
approaches they use to help international students. The article selected discussed the common
stressors and the coping strategies of international students, as well as the implication to college
counselors when working with international students. One of the common stressors to international
students is the adjustment difficulty. Immersed in a different culture and a new environment, it is

This tendency may be due to the heterogeneous nature of this special population. Some of the
international students may assume that college counselors may not understand their experiences and
feelings because of the differences, while some other international students are not familiar with the
professional counseling services and are reluctant to make use of them. Considering international
students less active participation in traditional counseling, colleges counselor could develop some
program to facilitate international students understanding of counseling services and reduce their
apprehension. In addition, college counselors should also make use of other non traditional counseling
approaches to help international students achieve a higher level of adjustment. For example, college
counselors can implement some psycho educational programs, mentoring programs, prevention
services and some support groups. The new student orientations are a good opportunities for
counselors to help international students get familiar with the helping services available on campus.
Counselors can also use this platform to explain some cultural and educational differences to
international students. In this way, they would be better prepared and not attribute themselves as the
sources of adjustment

Economic Injustice During The Middle East And South Africa...
Economic Injustice In Education System Abstract This paper is presented with the empirical
investigation of the inequality of education opportunities, that are limitless, effected by economic
injustice throughout the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). The inequality of opportunities, plays
a significant role in the lack of educational achievements in the Middle East and MENA countries.
Gender equality, poverty, and community can be significant reason on why younger adults are not
given the opportunity for higher education or education overall. Economic injustice in education, are
due to the fact that many citizens can t afford to attend high school or college. Due to this, it has
resulted in a high percentage of illiteracy in the Middle East and the majority of MENA countries.
Gender equality, one of the biggest vital role that plays in the cause of economic injustice in education
system in the Middle East. Women are not expected to go to school or make it to a higher level of
education, but instead they are expected to stay home and tend to their families. In the Middle East,
religious prejudices often prevent girls from attending school as well. Economic injustice in education
is flourishing because child labor to prop up household incomes when times are tough, due to the lack
of developed insurance or saving systems in these countries. Access to educate has evolved
dramatically over the decades , and there has been a number of encouraging trends in girls

The Collaborative Teacher Education Program At The...
I am honored to be applying for the Collaborative Teacher Education Program at the University of
Massachusetts Amherst. Becoming a teacher is a career path that I did not consider taking until
recently. When I entered college, I did so as an undeclared student. My goal was not only to secure a
job after college, but also find a career where I will be happy for the next 50 years. I decide to settle
on economics, because I found the subject matter to be very pertinent and useful. However I never
wanted to be an economist or a banker, I just really enjoyed the classes. Two summers ago, I worked
for one of the largest camps in Massachusetts: the Metro West YMCA Day Camp. Though it was one
of the more challenging jobs I have ever had, it was also the most rewarding ones. I returned home
every day filthy and exhausted. However I always came home with a smile, and greater appreciation
for the wonders of youth. Following this great experience, I decided to begin applying for education
programs in order to receive a teaching license in Elementary Education and a Master s in Elementary
Education. Education is a field that allows me to fulfill my goal of finding a job where I could make a
difference and a lasting impact. Through education I can help develop the next generation, and mold
them into better citizens for tomorrow. My purpose in becoming an educator is to have a career with
meaning. Throughout my education process, my teachers have always had a great impact on me. They

Ozone Depletion And Its Negative Effects On Aquatic Skin
Ozone Depletion and Its Negative Effects on Aquatic Skin
The Ozone is made up of three oxygen molecule joint together by covalent bond (O3) which is mostly
found in the stratosphere of the Earth. Although it is a poisonous gas, it is important in many ways for
human as well as other aquatic and terrestrial animals. But due to the large emission of the halogens
and CFCs ozone is being depleted rapidly (Vermishev and Danilov Danilyan 360 361). The enormous
disadvantage of the ozone layer depletion is the inability of the earth s atmosphere to filter the UV
(Ultra Violate) rays emitted by the sun and actually which has created a various problems such as the
negative effects on the terrestrial and aquatic skin.
UV ray is that with low wavelength and high frequency. High frequency rays carry high amounts of
energy. High energy rays are capable of changing the DNA in molecular level. Aquatic organisms are
at higher risk of damage from UV ray the skins of aquatic organisms are just not restricted to one
function. The various harmful rays emitted as a result of barbaric human activities have resulted in
ozone depletion causing the UV ray to enter through the stratosphere and causes several diseases such
as sunburn, cancer in aquatic animals, changes in DNA structure leading to the skin mutations,
unusual changes in the sebaceous glands, salt gland, and other several glands.
Some of the organisms are reported to have the skin cancer when exposed to the high frequency UV
ray. An

Introduction The way people choose to portray themselves on an online social networking site or a

through in order to be comfortable not only receiving, but distributing their personal information. This
paper will explore different ways that online presentations in mediated communication through dating
and social networking sites are represented and the issues that coincide. Social networking sites have
distinctive cues that create various levels of importance to those browsing them. Almost everyone

The difference between how one interprets visual cues over textual cues was explored through a study
that was conducted in order to see which one had primacy. It was said that it is possible textual cues
induce impressions more so than that of visual cues due to the fact that in a textual cue one has to
process what the person is saying. It is a tough spot to be in when trying to create an online
relationship, because you are in a vulnerable place and do not want to end up being tricked. Relating
to the aforementioned article, a journal called The Digital Self: Through the Looking Glass of
Telecopresent Others by Shanyang Zhao the themes of how to form an impression online are touched
upon. By observing others ungovernable behaviors, we are often able to assess the authenticity of the
governable aspect of their behaviors. In other words, the corporeal presence of others in a face to face
situation provides us with a maximum of symptoms that enable us to see a clear picture of ourselves in
others appraisals of our performances (Zhao, S. (2005)). Ideally, Zhao is saying that the lack thereof
nonverbal cues in an online environment make it more difficult to make an impression of the person
you are interested in. However, by judging our own actions and cues, we can form impressions based
on the information provided by those we seek. When looking at a photograph, it is blatantly

Eucharist And Christianity
Catholics and Orthodox Christians believe that through transubstantiation the Eucharist is changed
into the literal body and blood of Christ. Calvin did not believe that a literal change occurred, rather,
the body and blood were received by participating in symbolic communion through the power of the
Holy Spirit.
Both Catholics and Orthodox Christians justify their belief by referencing verses from first

bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we
who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread (pg.330), along with readings from the

Delay Analysis Of Networked Control System Essay
Delay Analysis Of Networked Control System
Abstract Networked Control Systems (NCS) are the control systems in which the control loops are
closed through a communication network. In recent years, the use of Network Control System (NCS)
have gained increasing attentions due to their cost effective and flexible applications. But one of the
major challenges that need to be tackle in NCS is the delay of the data transmission which occurs
throughout the communication network and thus degrades the control system performance and also
causes the system instability. Therefore, this paper presents an analysis of network delay in NCS. In
this paper, we have designed a model of delay control system for network induced delay using the
simulation model of network control system delay and thus analysed the effect of network delay on
the performance of the control system . The TrueTime simulator is used in this work.
Keywords networked control system, network delay, control performance, truetime, stability
I.INTRODUCTION
In conventional control systems, control signals are sent over the loop using analog or digital
technology, while in modern computer control systems, the control loop is almost entirely closed over
a communication network . The Networked Control Systems (NCSs) are one type of distributed
control systems in which sensors, actuators and controllers are interconnected by communication
networks. The defining feature

2017 And Glass Ceiling Is Real
In the United States of America, men seem to want full control. Corporations, organizations, schools
even religions have been created by men and for men and they have great opposition to women
infiltrating their management positions. Men have created glass ceilings for women in the workplace.
A glass ceiling is an artificial barrier that allows women to see the top of the corporate ladder, but at
the same time denies them access to the higher rungs of that ladder. Women keep hitting their heads
on the glass ceiling until they develop so many knots on their heads that eventually they give up on

Women do most of the invisible work in Corporate America. If this work were made visible, men in
Corporate America would not receive all the glory for the jobs they have. As you see, educational
attainment is a key ingredient to shattering the glass.
Women are beginning to see that the best way to get to the top of any type of business is to create their
own business. In women owned businesses today, the women seem to accept any business background
shortcomings and seek education and training before they take the leap. Women try to base their
decisions on logic and on sound business decisions. They do not seem to shoot from the hip the way
many men do in the business world. In corporations that have dared to hire today s businesswoman, it
seems these women officials are easier to work with in a consensus team building environment.
Women tend to offer higher wages to their employees and fight for better benefits for them as well.
Women know the need for flexible hours, childcare, and better insurance. All in all, it seems that
women understand the problems of their employees. They work hard to be number one and in turn
make their employees feel like they are number one to them.
In most corporations today, the glass ceiling goes unnoticed and certainly unquestioned. Corporations
boast of being a great place for women to work, but women are always middle management, not

Essay about Changes of Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
My dearest partner of greatness (I, v, 10) suggests to the reader or audience of the play Macbeth, that
these two partners, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, worked together and truly believed in the greatness of
their work. This is not so. Said here in a letter from Macbeth to Lady Macbeth telling her that the king
is coming soon. There Macbeth truly feels that Lady Macbeth is his partner in all these truly great
events. The letter shows us of the close relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, and shows
us that the deepest secrets of the heart were revealed to each other.
It is from this point that we meet the true character of Lady Macbeth. She immediately shows herself
as a domineering, strong willed and ambitious wife to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Somehow Macbeth manages to keep his composure when faced with his guests and the evidence of
the killing, but we, the audience know that inside, his heart is quaking with fear. Out of nervousness,
Macbeth blurts out the fact that he murdered the two servants with his anger. That was very rash and
cast a tiny shadow of suspicion on him even at that early stage.
Earlier it was Macbeth who was worried that their plan would fail and lady Macbeth was the one who
scoffed at the mere idea of failing. Now Macbeth, the king, had murderers to kill Banquo and others
with no qualms at all. When lady Macbeth inquires about how he is so sure that banquo doesn t
suspect them, Macbeth merely shrugs off her questions and tells her that these matters are not for the
ears of a woman. Here we see how their close relationship, mentioned earlier has diminished to that of
a slave and his master. Now Macbeth tells his wife t walk alongside him as they leave together.
The biggest character change is seen within lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth. Lady Macbeth is heart
broken by he fact that she no longer has any control over her husband. He is moving forward and she
is left behind. The queen yes, but moving up from that point doesn t seem to be happening. She, the
strong one has gone timid and womanly. Towards the end of the play, poor lady Macbeth is
traumatised by her very own words she mocked Macbeth with,

Becoming A Supervisor
Based on the information I discovered from this final project, I would still like to be a supervisor. I
know that becoming a supervisor might be a challenge based on the supervisor informational
interviews that I received from Clarice Barrington and Earlene Johnson. However, I m knowledgeable
that a supervisor is a vital participant in the development of the workers that assist them and also the
department; this is the key motivator influence for me. As I would expect, there is the financial
motivation that comes with every advancement, which is important when planning for your future;
however, that wouldn t be my main purpose because that will not keep unity among the people that
you are leading or help build your department. I would be in a supervisor position for the wrong
reason. The money will not allow me to demonstrate my leadership abilities, but my heart and mind
will.

future of your department. I learned from this project that being a supervisor is more than just giving

personality traits you possess to see if your chosen career will be enjoyable and satisfying. I consider

Formative Vs. Summative Assessment
Formative vs. Summative Assessment In today s schools, teachers are trying to decide which form of
assessment, formative or summative, is a better measure of student s abilities. Teachers are constantly
pressured to make sure their students are doing well on state wide assessments, therefore, making sure
their students have the skills they need to succeed on these tests is extremely important. Formative
assessment gives the student and teacher feedback as the information is gathered (Cotton, 2017).
Where summative assessments are better for capturing the amount of material learned and the quality
of learning at the end of a large unit or amount of information (Dixson and Worrell 2016). Teachers
are on the warpath researching which method is the most effective way of assessing students. In the
article Formative and Summative Assessment in the Classroom , the authors Dixson and Worrell

Summative assessment is used to see what students know about a particular topic at a particular time,
such as a cumulative exam. Students and teachers alike feel the pressure that high stakes testing can

classrooms where testing is used efficiently they must work diligently to make sure their assessments

II. Overview of the Diagnostic Tool
a. Definition
In a nutshell, functional competency inventory and design, is a tool which aims to measure the
competencies of functional groups of organizations, which are affected by their respective core
objectives. In 1973, McClelland supported testing for competence, rather than intelligence. By
definition, competencies are general descriptions of the abilities necessary to perform successfully in
areas specified. Competency profiles synthesize skills, knowledge, attributes and values, and express
performance requirements in behavioral terms. The review of ... Show more content on

Unlike Core Competency Inventory and Design, Functional Competency Inventory and Design
focuses on and measures the competency (knowledge, skills, personal attributes, and behavior) of
functional groups. These groups are based on organization s structure and are the formal groups on
organizational charts. These groups have their tasks and leaders chosen by higher management.
Functional groups usually have specific rules of operation and clearly defined superior subordinate
relationships. For example, in the school setting, the Head Registrar is the designated leader of a
functional group of subordinates that includes a number of assistant registrars, liaison officer, and
secretaries.
What Functional Competency Inventory and Design does is that it measures the competency required
for each functional area, as like in the above mentioned example, the Registrar s office, and checks
whether the members of the group has the competency required for the functional area. Another way
of seeing functional groups would be to see that these functional groups are equivalent to departments
in companies. So Finance, Marketing, Operations, Research and Development, and other departments
of the corporation are all functional groups, whose competency can be measured through this

management was willing to listen what they have to say and were open to make changes in order to
make it better for everyone and increase profits as well as ticket sales. One of the biggest change that
Ticketmaster did is to provide an interactive seating chart which allowed customers to pick their own
seats instead of the best available seats picked by Ticketmaster. Another change that the company
made was that the customers were allowed to pay for the tickets and print at the same time without

when they were trying to promote the concert, games or theatrical venues. This was a risky move on
Ticketmaster s part; however, it paid off at the end based on an increased sales of tickets, and more
artists started doing business with them. Moreover, Ticketmaster started alerting Facebook friends of

Morality In Christopher R. Browning s Ordinary Men
In the book Ordinary Men by Christopher R. Browning, he shows a different side of the Germans
during the Final Solution, and how not every last one was a terrible person, by explaining how some
men would hide from killing, opt out altogether, or say they were just following orders. Though there
were still some who embraced their newly found jobs, this book argues there was still a sense of
morality, but does not excuse the acts that took place. However, as much as the perpetrators were
emotionally scarred, and this book does show us that, there are still some flaws in the content used to
write this book. One of the first things that became apparent to me very quickly was that this book was
not like most things you read about the Holocaust that always portrays Germans as being horrific
people, and the name implies, these were just ordinary men. Actually, some of the men in the
beginning were able to opt out of the killings. Having explained what awaited his men, Trapp then

he did not go to the forest itself or witness the executions; his absence there was conspicuous. (59) He
did what he could to stay away from the systematic executions of the Jewish people, and his men took
note of that. However, there were some instances that almost all of the men knew something was not
okay about what they were doing. I would like to say that almost tacitly everyone refrained from
shooting infants and small children. (59) All of these accounts reinforce how the men reacted to what
they were asked to do initially, and how some opt out altogether. There were some men though, those
who wanted to be career military men that took to other ways of getting over what they were tasked

they would volunteer to guard, or hide out in the woods. Those who shot did not have to live with the

The Recent Adoption Of The Sustainable Development Goals
1. Introduction
The recent adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 by the United Nations
General Assembly was a strong endorsement of the largest coordinated international development and
poverty alleviation experiment in human history: the prior 15 years Millennium Development Goals
(or MDGs). Created and ratified by the United Nations General Assembly in 2000, the MDGs were a
set of eight very ambitious, coordinated targets intended to inform, organize, and direct the global
development agenda for the subsequent 15 years. These goals were to:
1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
2. Achieve universal primary education
3. Promote gender equity and empower women
4. Reduce child mortality
5. Improve maternal health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They generated new and innovative partnerships, galvanized public opinion and showed the immense
value of setting ambitious goals (The Millennium Development Goals Report, 2015).
Yet little work has been done to systematically investigate exactly how the MDGs led to the purported
developmental improvements. Without this causal link, it remains unclear whether the impressive
developmental changes in the past decade and a half were indeed due to the MDGs. This lack of
clarity carries implications for the expected impact of the recent SDGs and similar international
agenda setting efforts in the future. With this context in mind, we set out to examine one prominent
link in the causal chain: inputs to development. What effect, if any, did the MDGs have on the funding
and spending activities of non governmental organizations (NGOs)? NGOs are prominent players in
development, as they are often directly responsible for implementing changes in the field. More than
half of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) budget, for example, is
spent outsourcing work to international development NGOs (USAID, 2014).
International development is an especially resource constrained industry and, given that it deals with
literal life and death issues, avoiding wasted or inefficient resource allocation is of preeminent

EA has made rough decisions to try and make things work while Activision improved their direction
to overtake the lead in the video game industry.
Rivalry among these firms is weakened because the market is fast growing, the number of firms is

differentiated and appeal to a variety of diverse segments. Porters strategy simply states An
organization that pursues a differentiation strategy seeks to distinguish itself from competitors through
the quality of its products or services (Griffin 211). EA competes with Activision with video games on
the basis of differentiation where it shows how EA s loss of interest of their video game development
gained the popularity of Activision as they went along to gain leadership in the video game

The employment relationship may be defined as the relationship between employer and employee
over the terms and conditions of employment (Loudoun, Mcphail amp; Wilkinson 2009). In Australia,
the industrial relations had become a big issue, so following the 24 November 2007 Federal election,
the Rudd Labor Government began work on its promises to re shape Australia s industrial relations

By now, it has been operated for eight years and prohibits the discrimination on the basis of age.
Recent research vindicates this prediction, demonstrating that women at all levels of management still
report gender discrimination as a barrier to their advancement in Australia (Metz amp; Moss 2008).
The gender pay gap is also reflected in the low numbers of women in leadership positions (Goward
2004). Therefore, the state enacted Sex Discrimination Act 1984 to assist the government for this
issue. Under the Sex Discrimination Act it is unlawful to discriminate on the basis of gender, marital
status, pregnancy and family responsibility (Loudoun, Mcphail amp; Wilkinson 2009).
Racial discrimination includes race, colour, belief and national or ethnic origin. Australia is a
multicultural country; a large number of people are from different countries. They have different
cultural background like language, race, colour, belief and so on. Therefore, the racial discrimination
has become one of the most serious discriminations in Australia. For prohibiting it, Australia
government legislate the Racial Discrimination Act 1975.

General Aviation And A Business Jet
General Aviation Value Analysis The Comparison This General Aviation Value Analysis will provide a
comparison between commercial aviation and a business jet. To help with this comparison a short
distance and a long distance trip will be used. Both trips will be a business trip in nature and each
include myself and three additional colleagues. The business trip is set for July 12th. The departure
location is Seattle, WA to Boise, ID (short trip) and Seattle, WA to Houston, TX (long trip). The
analysis can then be used by the business to compare and contrast the best solution.
Commercial Air Travel
The commercial airline selected for the business trip is Alaska Airlines. The airline is the ideal carrier
because Seattle is Alaska Airline s hub, making it the best choice for both trips. It s important to point
put today that commercial airlines face an overwhelming high volume of travelers. With more and
more passengers traveling via commercial airlines, one of challenges business travelers face today is
the longer wait times through the TSA security check point, delayed flights, overbooked flights, and
even flight cancellations. This in return can cost a business a deal, increase business travel time, and
add to the travel cost. For many business travelers time is money.

For decades, high inflation has always been a potential threat to the macroeconomic stability and long
term economic growth in the world. Central banks have been modelling strategies to tackle the general
price instability in an economy. Different models have been adopted to predict general price levels,
maintain a favorable inflation rate and promote economic growth. This can be achieved by ensuring
that the economic variables are properly regulated by committed and reliable financial institutions in a
state. Getting the model and monetary policy right is crucial for the health of an economy. Overly

Aristotle Happiness In Greek Essay

Why Do People Use Natural Gas
Natural gas is one of the most beneficial resource our environment has to offer to us and people need
to use this resource because it is so cheap. Companies include the Prius with Toyota, the Leaf with
Nissan or another innovation in electric or hybrid motoring who are using electricity in their cars
because they are trying to get in to the environmental friendly automotive market. Honda came out
with a better idea when they made the Honda Civic Natural Gas car. The reasons being, this car is
different than those of the electric cars is that it uses natural gas to run the car and the positive effect it
has on the environment is the fact that when using the resource it gives off partial zero emissions into
the environment. Honda Civic has really changed the automobile industry because people are copying
their idea of using natural gas to run their cars like Chevy did with their 2014 F 150 truck and ... Show

1. How has the property tax changed over time for local governments? What are the advantages and
disadvantages of the property tax as a revenue source? In response to these questions, make sure to
refer to the main principles of taxation (equity, efficiency, adequacy of revenue, political feasibility,
and cost of administration), tax and expenditure limitations, as well as the importance of revenue
diversification for local government.
Historically, property taxes have been the primary source of the local government s income. In fact,
approximately 70% of the local governments revenue stems from property taxes (Lee, Johnson, and

This could lead to that individual moving to another location, also known as gentrification. Political
feasibility is high since it has historically been a consistent source of revenue. Cost of administration
would be relatively low since property taxes, in terms of keeping track of properties, is relatively easy
because of its tangibility and lack of mobility.
With respect to revenue diversification, local governments have attempted to diversify their sources of
revenue by implementing one or a combination of these taxes: sales taxes, income taxes, game of
chance taxes (gambling, races, lotter, and their derivatives), user charge taxes, and sumptuary taxes
(cigarettes, alcohol, and their derivatives) (Lee, Johnson, and Joyce, 2013). In circumstances that
affect the primary source of revenue, having access to other sources may serve as a buffer for the local
government. However, the problems with these sorts of taxes is uncertainty. Property tax, as stated
earlier is the most reliable while income or sales taxes rely on income/ salaried employees and
consumption of products, respectively.
2. Explain the major forecasting methods used by governments to forecast revenues and expenditures.

Effects Of Advertising On Obesity
Introduction In this paper analysis it is my intent to address the topic of television advertisement s
effects on the obesity of children. Does advertising to children raise their obesity rate? Or is there no
correlation at all? This is an important topic that should be addressed because children are susceptible
to many influences (the younger the children the more susceptible they are), one of the biggest
influences being mass media. Or more specifically, advertising. If television advertising does have an
effect on children obesity, the health of society s children is at risk.
As stated in an article written by the American Psychological Association (APA), The Impact of Food
Advertising On Childhood Obesity , half of the advertisements exposed to children are food
orientated. And, the majority of those food ads are advertising unhealthy products, Food ads on
television make up 50 percent of all the ad time on children s shows. These ads are almost completely
dominated by unhealthy food products (34 percent for candy and snacks, 28 percent for cereal, 10
percent for fast food, 4 percent for dairy products, 1 percent for fruit juices, and 0 percent for fruits or
vegetables). Children are rarely exposed to public service announcements or advertising for healthier
foods, (APA). By conducting studies on children roughly under the age of 16 and analyzing their
television watch time and weight (or more specifically their BMI scores), a possible causal
relationship could be

The Cold War and the Economic Decline of the USSR
Apart from the two great wars, the Cold War was the most remarkable feature of twentieth century, a
period of extreme hostility without actual war. By the end of the Great War, Soviet Union emerged as
a powerful revolutionary state that gradually evolved into an empire over the course of following
decades. It served as an ideological model for one third of the world and was considered as a secure
and stable society by the rest. During this period the world was divided into two distinct blocs, the
proponents of democracy led by United States of America (USA) and the Socialist regimes headed by
the Soviet Union. Having almost equal military parity, the hostilities between the two superpower was
so great that many feared dooms day scenario in case war broke out. Although, the effort by both sides
to undermine and damage the interest of each other was no hidden secret, yet the military parity
resulted mostly in a stalemate. This sudden and peaceful conclusion of Cold War and breakdown of
Soviet Union therefore came as a surprise to all.
The past two decades has witnessed countless argument in the academia regarding the surprisingly
abrupt end of Cold War. Scholars of various theoretical perspectives have come up with different
evidences explaining the sudden collapse of Soviet Union. However, there are still disagreement on
the core issues which contributed most. While some argue regarding the material reasons such as
stagnation of economy, others focus on the personalities

black families Essay example
Family is a basic unit in every society. However, the makeup of a family is more complex to define.
There are so many types of families that it is impossible to have one distinct definition in trying to
explain how a true family is defined. For example, there are married couples with or without children,
single parent families, and even families headed by gay men or lesbians. These may not have been
considered families not too long ago, but now must be recognized because we live in such a diverse
society. What I want to focus on is the African American family, in terms of what they had to go
through before, during, and after slavery. As well as, where they are now and where it s going in the

Extended Family
As I stated before the extended family has played an important role in African American families
throughout history. Extended family is made up of the family that is outside of your immediate nuclear
family, your uncles, aunts, grandparents and/or cousins. I don t come from a nuclear family, instead I
m from a single parent family, so my mom usually depended on some members of our extended
family to help get by . Even now, I m living with my grandparents, so my extended family has always
played an important role, at least to this point, in my life. The extended family is sometimes used as an
economic unit. African American families are especially known for this type of households. It allows
the family to use resources and exchange goods and services, and other things that probably wouldn t
possible if they were on their own (Dickerson, 1995). This type of living arrangement goes back to
West African cultures. For example, in the Ashanti tribe young women remained in their family
compound because the mothers weren t believed to be able to manage on their on. So they stayed and
received help from the older women in the tribe and other young mothers to help care for the children
(Dickerson, 1995). An extended family gives children someone other than their mother or father to
relate to (Staples, 1994). It can be viewed as a special friendship that isn t shared with either of the
parents.

Essay about The Feminine Sea in Moby Dick
The Feminine Sea in Moby Dick
Melville s novel, Moby Dick, has only men. Melville s men s club sails a sea whose gender changes
often and whose personality is resolutely enigmatic. The feminine in Melville¹s novel hides her face in
a veil of stars and behind a cloud of words.
Literally, Moby Dick is a men s club, with only a glimpse of a woman in the background, or reflected
in the stories of the sailors. They seem to have no sexuality, nor any personality. The two full blooded,
dialogue speaking characters in the novel are both servants. Mrs. Hussey ladles out ³Clam or Cod³ to
Queequeg and Ishmael, bans harpoons from her house, and busies herself like some cosmic

indefatigable in her efforts, the only gifts enumerated are trivial and silly, befitting someone who has
no idea of the seriousness of the work involved. Both Charity and Mrs. Hussey are distanced from the
men and men s work of the novel; they are the servants of the club, ignorant and silly.
The only other women in the men¹s club exist in memory. Ishmael speaks of his best and most
conscientious step mother, sending him to bed during the daylight. Like Jane Eyre, locked up only in
his room, his visited by a phantom and the vision haunts him. This scary vision is repeated, but

Everyone who lived during the Elizabethan Era knew these laws and failure to follow them resulted in
fines, lose of property, title, and life (Elizabethan Costume). Since in English society clothing was a
huge factor it ended up affecting costumes that were used in theatre. Next, actors had to abide by the
sumptuary laws even while performing on stage. Therefore the second a performer walked onto the
stage the audience could tell their role in the play just by looking at the color of the costume. The
Material and Fabric also had a similar effect, the audience could tell what class the character was in by
the quality of their costume and also it gave important information on that individual s role
(Elizabethan Actors). Queen Elizabeth I had to give actors special licenses to wear upper class clothes
to fit their character or position (Globe Theatre Costume). When nobility or upper class people would
come to see a play they would say it was like a double fashion show. The fabric and color of a person
s garments represented different pieces of information about them and since clothing was part of
society and law everyone knew what the color or material meant. Lastly, each color, during this era,
had a meaning and also represented which class a person was in. Elizabethan clothing, material, and
fabrics used in Elizabethan Era was extremely important because clothes represented more than just

Unit 4 Heat And Temperature
Unit 4: Heat and Temperature
Topic A: Illustrate and explain how human needs have led to technologies for obtaining and
controlling thermal energy and to increased use of energy resources.
Investigate and interpret examples of heat related technologies and energy used in the past (e.g.
domestic and industrial purposes)
Steam engines were the first engine type to see use in industrial purposes. A fire heats water which
turns to steam and the steam then has the ability to move things. They were first invented by Thomas
Newcomen in 1705, and James Watt (a Scottish inventor) made big improvements to steam engines in
1769. Steam engines powered all early cars, steamboats and factories.

Describe the effect of heat on the motion of particles, and explain changes of state using the particle
model of matter.
There are four basic components for thermal energy (heat): 1. All matter is made up of tiny particles
called atoms. These can only be seen with special microscopes. 2. The atoms are always moving they
all have kinetic energy. 3. The particles have space between them. Different states of matter have
different amounts of space. 4. Adding heat (energy) to matter makes the particles move more quickly.
Since faster moving things have more kinetic energy, adding heat increases the energy of the particle.
5. Cooling it down decreases the amount of kinetic energy and slows the movement down.
Distinguish between heat and temperature, and explain temperature using the concept of kinetic
energy and the particle model of matter.
Temperature: the average kinetic energy of individual atoms and molecules
Heat Energy: The collection of random molecules in action.
Compare heat transmission in different materials (e.g., conduction of heat in different solids,
absorption of radiant heat by different

Simon as an Ambassador for Self-Realization “Lord of the...
The trials and tribulations all humans face becomes prominent as each individual succumbs to evil in
attempts of recreating his or her lost civilization. Out of each dark moment the individual faces,
flourishes a new state of human consciousness that is consistent in revealing one s true nature. In the
Lord of the Flies, the transition the three young boys make into adulthood is evident as their
significance and their newfound identity becomes more pronounced. Simon s particular incident
involves his encounter with the Lord of the Flies , where he comes to terms with the innate evil that
resides within all humanity, causing him to be an ambassador for self realization. Ralph s test of faith
and leadership comes with the recognition that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was no solemn assembly for debate nor dignity of the conch (196). At this point, Jack has the
total control of the island, showing that the savage part of humanity has succeeded. After his
consciousness evolves, the light of humanity is seen through Ralph s trials and tribulations, revealing
his nature as a civilized leader. Throughout the novel, Ralph symbolizes order, structure and
leadership. Nevertheless, he has faced many trials that test his faith, proving that he is a classic
example of a person that is a product of his society s morals and values. In a world that demands
individuals to conduct themselves according to the values and morals imposed by the society, it is
often difficult to find those that exhibit an innate sense of compassion. Simon is a character that
proves to be one with nature and shows an immediate liking to his new environment. Therefore, when
the others resorted to savagery, he still had not lost his gentleness and compassion. His encounter with
the Lord of the Flies exposes the truth about the beast and as a result, causes his consciousness to
evolve. This reveals his true nature as a kindhearted and an honest person. As promised, the Lord of
the Flies did have fun with him, ultimately causing his death in attempts of spreading the truth
amongst the other boys. The Lord of the Flies states: There isn t anyone to help you. Only me. And I
m the Beast. . . . Fancy thinking the Beast was something you could hunt and kill!

The Decline Of The Industrial Revolution
Governments are being overthrown and altered, people are viewing religion in a new way where the
pope is not a pronounced powerful God, and America divided from British regulation and developed
its very own nation. What do all these occurrences have in common with each other? They all ended
up altering the people that existed in the world never really changed the world itself until the 1800s.
During the 1800s the world s employment forces became very enormous, food quantity was constant,
raw resources were assessable, and transportation developed in to a dependable source for roaming to
and from places. These things independently had no effect on the world but when all these things
occur at the same time together simultaneously its influence is so strong that it changed the world and
shaped in to the greatest impactful time in all of history, the Industrial Revolution.
Britain started to see a huge increase in population progression throughout the years of 1750 to 1850
going from a population of roughly six mullion to twenty million individuals.(Judge 610) This
population upsurge caused Britain to improve new agricultural techniques which provided British the
capability to obtain a sustained food supply with fewer farmers. With a smaller amount of people
becoming agriculturalists numerous quantities of people found themself unfortunate and landless. This
required many people to acquire low paid factory jobs in an urban region. With a population increase,
people being forced

Chin The World s Largest Producer Of Coke
Coke Industry China is the world s largest producer of coke, and there is evidence that China has for
the last decade manipulated production and prices. According to the OECD, China s use of export
quotas became more commonplace starting in 2004 and continued for several years. Coke export
allocations of 12 million tons in 2008 were cut to 11.9 million tons in 2009, to 9 million tons in 2010
and to 8.4 million tons in 2011. As China rolled out the export quota over these years, it concurrently
started to introduce export taxes on coke in 2006. The graph below shows China s ad valorem export
tax rates compared to Russia and the rest of the world in 2012. As depicted, China s export tax was
approximately 40%, while Russia s was significantly lower at 5% and the rest of the world almost non
existent.
This export tax essentially raised the price that importers abroad, including the United States, had to
pay at the end, making U.S. buyers of coke less competitive in the global supply chain. The added ad
valorem tax would suppress demand, thereby reducing the price that sellers would receive on the
market. When considering the aftermath of China s loss in the 2013 WTO case, it was forced to
eliminate the export restraint measures on the 9 raw materials, including coke. As a result, a tax free
situation meant that Chinese coke became cheaper again, which would have led to an increased supply
of coke exports to the United States.

Romanian Orphanages
Romanian Orphanages
Imagine a hospital that, at one time ran smoothly helping the public, now with the primary objection
of taking care of the thousands of abandoned infants and children. This is the reality in Romania when
Nicolae Ceausescu was in power. In 1966 he created an Anti Abortion/Contraception law in order to
raise the population and achieve his ultimate goal to slowly take over surrounding areas and increase
Romania s power. The next plan of action was to open orphanages, which caused an entire generation
of mentally and physically handicapped children. Now after more than four decades, the question is if
they have made enough progression on this horrific issue. Ceausescu s law included that each family

Ion Iliescu, former president of Romania created this law thinking that it is better for the children to be
in state run orphanages, foster homes or to be adopted domestically. One thing I m sure he didn t take
into consideration is the fact that most abandoned children are gypsies, most Romanian s will not
adopt a gypsy child. This means that until they open adoption internationally again, many children
will not be getting the loving homes they deserve. It s a shame because there are so many people who
want to adopt from there and can give those children a better home than they could ever imagine in
Romania. When I started writing this research paper, it was just another assignment to get done but I
learned so much and became passionate about the cause. I have researched different groups and have
decided to volunteer abroad in an orphanage. These kids ask for nothing more than to feel secure and
loved, something that most children take for granted here in the U.S. everyday. I am leaning toward
Projects Abroad to do my volunteer work because they are a non religious group( Do International
Volunteer Work with Children in Romania with Projects Abroad. ). Most of the groups are Christian
and I am not very religious so I chose not to join those. Hopefully I will be going in the summer of
2010, I have to wait because the price to go is around $3,000. The tragedy that had befallen Romania
is not good but they have tried to improve

  • 3. The Poems Of Andrea, Fra Lippo, And The Artistic Life At... Browning s intellectual curiosity and vivid interest in men were allied with a singular aloofness from the movements and revolutions of his time. Browning s mind was impervious to doubt, and his confidence in the value of life was constitutionally unshakable, it means intensely, and means good: (Browning, Fra Lippo Lippi, line 314). His vision is so clear and comprehensive that he viewed his subject on numerous planes. He makes his readers see and understand each of his characters in their habit as they lived and thought and purposed. The poems of Andrea, Fra lippo are an epitome of the city s artistic life at the zenith of its fame. Browning s attitude towards Art follows certain characteristic. Firstly, he derives pleasures from every exercise of creative power like the swiftly emerging conception in Fra Lippo s mind, Secondly; he maintains a consistent attitude towards both technique and connoisseurship. The faultless drawing of Andrea del Sarto. Simply betray the impotence when called upon exercise the crucial function of the artist. Duke of Ferrara is soundly equipped with critical taste and knowledge. But he toils not, neither does he spin; he contributes nothing; he is content with the mere pride of possession. Becoming a teacher is a career path that I did not consider taking until recently. When I entered college, I did so as an undeclared student. My goal was not only to secure a job after college, but also find a career where I will be happy for the next 50 years. I decide to settle on economics, because I found the subject matter to be very pertinent and useful. However I never wanted to be an economist or a banker, I just really enjoyed the classes. Two summers ago, I worked for one of the largest camps in Massachusetts: the Metro West YMCA Day Camp. Though it was one of the more challenging jobs I have ever had, it was also the most rewarding ones. I returned home every day filthy and exhausted. However I always came home with a smile, and greater appreciation for the wonders of youth. Following this great experience, I decided to begin applying for education programs in order to receive a teaching license in Elementary Education and a Master s in Elementary Education. Education is a field that allows me to fulfill my goal of finding a job where I could make a difference and a lasting impact. Through education I can help develop the next generation, and mold them into better citizens for tomorrow. My purpose in becoming an educator is to have a career with meaning. Browning, he shows a different side of the Germans during the Final Solution, and how not every last one was a terrible person, by explaining how some men would hide from killing, opt out altogether, or say they were just following orders. Though there were still some who embraced their newly found jobs, this book argues there was still a sense of morality, but does not excuse the acts that took place. However, as much as the perpetrators were emotionally scarred, and this book does show us that, there are still some flaws in the content used to write this book. One of the first things that became apparent to me very quickly was that this book was not like most things you read about the Holocaust that always portrays Germans as being horrific people, and the name implies, these were just ordinary men. Actually, some of the men in the beginning were able to opt out of the killings. Having explained what awaited his men, Trapp then made an extraordinary offer: if any of the older men among them did not feel up to the task that lay before him, he could step out. (2) The men were shown empathy as their commander was letting them have an option to not take part in what awaited them. Again, talking about the same commander, But he did not go to the forest itself or witness the executions; his absence there was conspicuous. (59) He did what he could to stay away from the systematic executions of the Jewish people, and his men took note of that. However, there were some instances that almost all of the men knew something was not okay about what they were doing. I would like to say that almost tacitly everyone refrained from shooting infants and small children. (59) All of these accounts reinforce how the men reacted to what they were asked to do initially, and how some opt out altogether. There were some men though, those who wanted to be career military men that took to other ways of getting over what they were tasked with. There came a time when the men were no longer offered an out, and to escape the executions they would volunteer to guard, or hide out in the woods. Those who shot did not have to live with the clear awareness that what they had done had been ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. The Recent Adoption Of The Sustainable Development Goals 1. Introduction The recent adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly was a strong endorsement of the largest coordinated international development and poverty alleviation experiment in human history: the prior 15 years Millennium Development Goals (or MDGs). Created and ratified by the United Nations General Assembly in 2000, the MDGs were a set of eight very ambitious, coordinated targets intended to inform, organize, and direct the global development agenda for the subsequent 15 years. These goals were to: 1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger 2. Achieve universal primary education 3. Promote gender equity and empower women 4. Reduce child mortality 5. Improve maternal health ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They generated new and innovative partnerships, galvanized public opinion and showed the immense value of setting ambitious goals (The Millennium Development Goals Report, 2015). Yet little work has been done to systematically investigate exactly how the MDGs led to the purported developmental improvements. Without this causal link, it remains unclear whether the impressive developmental changes in the past decade and a half were indeed due to the MDGs. This lack of clarity carries implications for the expected impact of the recent SDGs and similar international agenda setting efforts in the future. With this context in mind, we set out to examine one prominent link in the causal chain: inputs to development. What effect, if any, did the MDGs have on the funding and spending activities of non governmental organizations (NGOs)? NGOs are prominent players in development, as they are often directly responsible for implementing changes in the field. More than half of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) budget, for example, is spent outsourcing work to international development NGOs (USAID, 2014). International development is an especially resource constrained industry and, given that it deals with literal life and death issues, avoiding wasted or inefficient resource allocation is of preeminent ... With respect to revenue diversification, local governments have attempted to diversify their sources of revenue by implementing one or a combination of these taxes: sales taxes, income taxes, game of chance taxes (gambling, races, lotter, and their derivatives), user charge taxes, and sumptuary taxes (cigarettes, alcohol, and their derivatives) (Lee, Johnson, and Joyce, 2013). Does advertising to children raise their obesity rate? Or is there no correlation at all? This is an important topic that should be addressed because children are susceptible to many influences (the younger the children the more susceptible they are), one of the biggest influences being mass media. Or more specifically, advertising. If television advertising does have an effect on children obesity, the health of society s children is at risk. As stated in an article written by the American Psychological Association (APA), The Impact of Food Advertising On Childhood Obesity , half of the advertisements exposed to children are food orientated. And, the majority of those food ads are advertising unhealthy products, Food ads on television make up 50 percent of all the ad time on children s shows. These ads are almost completely dominated by unhealthy food products (34 percent for candy and snacks, 28 percent for cereal, 10 percent for fast food, 4 percent for dairy products, 1 percent for fruit juices, and 0 percent for fruits or vegetables). By the end of the Great War, Soviet Union emerged as a powerful revolutionary state that gradually evolved into an empire over the course of following decades. African American families are especially known for this type of households. Therefore the second a performer walked onto the stage the audience could tell their role in the play just by looking at the color of the costume. The Material and Fabric also had a similar effect, the audience could tell what class the character was in by the quality of their costume and also it gave important information on that individual s role (Elizabethan Actors). Queen Elizabeth I had to give actors special licenses to wear upper class clothes to fit their character or position (Globe Theatre Costume). When nobility or upper class people would come to see a play they would say it was like a double fashion show. The fabric and color of a person s garments represented different pieces of information about them and since clothing was part of society and law everyone knew what the color or material meant. Lastly, each color, during this era, had a meaning and also represented which class a person was in. Elizabethan clothing, material, and fabrics used in Elizabethan Era was extremely important because clothes represented more than just how you looked it demonstrated your ... • 45. Unit 4 Heat And Temperature Unit 4: Heat and Temperature Topic A: Illustrate and explain how human needs have led to technologies for obtaining and controlling thermal energy and to increased use of energy resources. Investigate and interpret examples of heat related technologies and energy used in the past (e.g. domestic and industrial purposes) Steam engines were the first engine type to see use in industrial purposes. A fire heats water which turns to steam and the steam then has the ability to move things. They were first invented by Thomas Newcomen in 1705, and James Watt (a Scottish inventor) made big improvements to steam engines in 1769. Steam engines powered all early cars, steamboats and factories. Trace linkages between human needs and development of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Describe the effect of heat on the motion of particles, and explain changes of state using the particle model of matter. There are four basic components for thermal energy (heat): 1. All matter is made up of tiny particles called atoms. These can only be seen with special microscopes. 2. The atoms are always moving they all have kinetic energy. 3. The particles have space between them. Different states of matter have different amounts of space. 4. Adding heat (energy) to matter makes the particles move more quickly. Since faster moving things have more kinetic energy, adding heat increases the energy of the particle. 5. Cooling it down decreases the amount of kinetic energy and slows the movement down. Distinguish between heat and temperature, and explain temperature using the concept of kinetic energy and the particle model of matter. Temperature: the average kinetic energy of individual atoms and molecules Heat Energy: The collection of random molecules in action. Compare heat transmission in different materials (e.g., conduction of heat in different solids, absorption of radiant heat by different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. The Decline Of The Industrial Revolution Governments are being overthrown and altered, people are viewing religion in a new way where the pope is not a pronounced powerful God, and America divided from British regulation and developed its very own nation. What do all these occurrences have in common with each other? They all ended up altering the people that existed in the world never really changed the world itself until the 1800s. During the 1800s the world s employment forces became very enormous, food quantity was constant, raw resources were assessable, and transportation developed in to a dependable source for roaming to and from places. These things independently had no effect on the world but when all these things occur at the same time together simultaneously its influence is so strong that it changed the world and shaped in to the greatest impactful time in all of history, the Industrial Revolution. Britain started to see a huge increase in population progression throughout the years of 1750 to 1850 going from a population of roughly six mullion to twenty million individuals.(Judge 610) This population upsurge caused Britain to improve new agricultural techniques which provided British the capability to obtain a sustained food supply with fewer farmers. With a smaller amount of people becoming agriculturalists numerous quantities of people found themself unfortunate and landless. This required many people to acquire low paid factory jobs in an urban region. With a population increase, people being forced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Chin The World s Largest Producer Of Coke Coke Industry China is the world s largest producer of coke, and there is evidence that China has for the last decade manipulated production and prices. According to the OECD, China s use of export quotas became more commonplace starting in 2004 and continued for several years. Coke export allocations of 12 million tons in 2008 were cut to 11.9 million tons in 2009, to 9 million tons in 2010 and to 8.4 million tons in 2011. As China rolled out the export quota over these years, it concurrently started to introduce export taxes on coke in 2006. The graph below shows China s ad valorem export tax rates compared to Russia and the rest of the world in 2012. As depicted, China s export tax was approximately 40%, while Russia s was significantly lower at 5% and the rest of the world almost non existent. This export tax essentially raised the price that importers abroad, including the United States, had to pay at the end, making U.S. buyers of coke less competitive in the global supply chain. The added ad valorem tax would suppress demand, thereby reducing the price that sellers would receive on the market. When considering the aftermath of China s loss in the 2013 WTO case, it was forced to eliminate the export restraint measures on the 9 raw materials, including coke. As a result, a tax free situation meant that Chinese coke became cheaper again, which would have led to an increased supply of coke exports to the United States. • 49. Romanian Orphanages Romanian Orphanages Imagine a hospital that, at one time ran smoothly helping the public, now with the primary objection of taking care of the thousands of abandoned infants and children. This is the reality in Romania when Nicolae Ceausescu was in power. In 1966 he created an Anti Abortion/Contraception law in order to raise the population and achieve his ultimate goal to slowly take over surrounding areas and increase Romania s power. The next plan of action was to open orphanages, which caused an entire generation of mentally and physically handicapped children. Now after more than four decades, the question is if they have made enough progression on this horrific issue. Ceausescu s law included that each family that doesn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ion Iliescu, former president of Romania created this law thinking that it is better for the children to be in state run orphanages, foster homes or to be adopted domestically. One thing I m sure he didn t take into consideration is the fact that most abandoned children are gypsies, most Romanian s will not adopt a gypsy child. This means that until they open adoption internationally again, many children will not be getting the loving homes they deserve. It s a shame because there are so many people who want to adopt from there and can give those children a better home than they could ever imagine in Romania. When I started writing this research paper, it was just another assignment to get done but I learned so much and became passionate about the cause. I have researched different groups and have decided to volunteer abroad in an orphanage. These kids ask for nothing more than to feel secure and loved, something that most children take for granted here in the U.S. everyday. I am leaning toward Projects Abroad to do my volunteer work because they are a non religious group( Do International Volunteer Work with Children in Romania with Projects Abroad. ). Most of the groups are Christian and I am not very religious so I chose not to join those. Hopefully I will be going in the summer of 2010, I have to wait because the price to go is around $3,000.
