Whisper Of The Heart Comparison
Studio Ghibli is known for its strong depiction of its female characters so I nicknamed you after one
of them. In each film, the female protagonists go on a journey where they are judged on their strength
of character, integrity and skills, similar to what you are going through during the new member
process. At the end of the journey, each character becomes stronger and grows as a person. I can t wait
to witness the things you accomplish throughout your college career and I hope to be there to support
you every step of the way. Shizuku is the main character from the film Whisper of the Heart, which is
a simple yet intricate film that depicts a coming of age story encompassing topics like friendship,
ambition, and dreams. In the film, Shizuku is usually seen hanging out with two of her closest friends.
The trio are supportive of each other as they are preparing for their high school entrance exams. Like
Shizuku, you can find support in your line sisters as the three of you complete the new member
process and continue to support each other through your academic career and personal goals. ... Show

Although you don t get really angry, you remind of Shizuku when you are ranting about the things you
dislike. Shizuku is constantly seen reading books, a leisurely activity you also enjoy. One day, she
notices that all the library books she borrowed had previously been checked out by the mysterious
Seiji Amasawa. It turns out that Seiji admired Shizuku and tried to get her attention by putting his
name in every book in the library. Similar to how Seiji was drawn to Shizuku, I was drawn towards
you during the rush events and I wanted to get to know you

Cultural Beliefs And Cultures Of South Africa
Cultural/Spiritual Beliefs and Ideologies
Cultural Beliefs and Influences
Everyone has cultural beliefs that may be passed down from generations, or in the society they live in,
and it is the way of leading life. It has been well documented that human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV) infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) have been the leading causes of
death among people living in South Africa. Over 1.8 million people have died from AIDS (Iwelunmor
Airhihenbuwa, 2012). The cultural practices of South Africa have influenced the wide spread of
HIV/AIDS in that country.
There is a need to take Zambian or African culture seriously in order to look at the salient elements of
cultural practices in rites of passage that influence the spread of HIV and AIDS (Moyo Muller, 2011).
Giving birth to a child is considered special, value and brings respect, and high societal status in South
African culture. If a woman has not gotten pregnant after some time of their marriage, the husband is
asked to make special arrangements with another woman to see if she gets pregnant by the husband. If
there is a problem with the husband, the family will make special arrangements with another man until
the woman conceives. This is kept secret and money is given as a gift for the favor. This is the culture
of the people of South Africa which has a great influence on the spread of HIV/AIDS due to having
multiple partners.

Yank and Rank
Abstract This paper will discuss will discuss rating system that judge employees on job performance.
The rating systems that will discuss in this paper are the following: forced ranking, absolute rating and
relative rating system. The author will discuss weather forced ranking is a good performance
management system, the different between the absolute rating and relative rating systems, an what
would the author rely on as a rating system and can a absolute rating system be devise that would
guarantee differentiation among workers, Rank Yank: Legitimate Performance Improvement Tool Or
Ruthless and Unfair Management 1. Do you think forced ranking is a good performance management
system? Why or Why not. The forced ranking system ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The forced ranking is a very harsh rating system in my eyes. I believe the forced ranking system is
unethical. Eliminating the bottom ten of an organization ever year can be costly to a company. It
promotes employee turnover and increases the company s labor cost. Recruiting, hiring and training
new people to replace the terminated employees can be very expensive. There is no guarantee that the
newly hired employees will be any better than the old employees that were eliminated. This system is
not fair to employees and emp0loyees don t have faith in this system. There is better ways to manage
performance and there are effective ways to improve performance level of employees. Management
can control performance by exploring the causes of performance problem, what cause the problem,
develop an effective plan and empower their employees to reach a solution, communicate with the
worker and provide positive feedback. Once an employee has been identified as a non productive
employees, management should find out why the employee is not productive and offer them coaching
or training to help the individual. 2. Part of the forced ranking label reflects the intent to force
distinctions among worker performance levels. In an absolute rating system, everyone could be rated
above average. Do this different between the absolute and relative rating approaches mean that the

Introduction Switzerland is best known for their cheese, chocolate and watches. However, their Swiss
Energy Program should be added to that list and taken into consideration and emulated by other
countries, like the United States. Similar to the Kyoto Protocol, the Swiss Energy Program introduced
a CO2 Act, which planned to reduce their carbon emissions by ten percent by the year 2010. They
were slightly successful, however compared to the United States, their carbon emissions are
unsubstantial. Switzerland also implemented a Nuclear Phase out plan which would completely stop
the use of nuclear energy by the year 2034. Since Switzerland uses nuclear energy for 40 percent of
their energy, this plan would be effective by increasing energy efficiency in other renewable energy
sources. Finally, Switzerland promotes energy efficiency through their Swiss Energy Program by
implementing the Energy Strategy 2050. This strategy has five main objectives Switzerland intends to
accomplish by 2050 which include reducing energy consumption, broadening electricity supply,
maintaining electricity imports, strengthening energy research, and encouraging international
cooperation. Due to their monumental use of renewable energy, the Swiss Energy Program is effective
by increasing energy efficiency through their implementation of CO2 Act, Nuclear Phase out plan, and
Energy Strategy 2050. Switzerland vs United States Energy Use In the United States, the main sources

Symbolism In Susan Glaspell s Trifles
Trifles is an amazing play filled with many subtle symbolizations of the recently widowed woman
named Mrs. Wright. The play starts when all the characters walk into the house of John Wright. The
characters are two women, Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peters, and three men, a sheriff, county attorney and
Hale. They walk into a home to investigate the murder of Mrs. Wright s (Minnie Foster) husband who
was found strangled to death. There are many Symbolic messages that are all connected to Mrs.
Wright throughout the play. From the beginning of the play, you know that Mrs. Wright is angry and
depressed. Between a conversation with Hale, Mrs. Wright has no emotion about the death of her
husband; Hale: Can t I see John? No , she says, kind o dull like. ... Show more content on

Peters says Oh, her fruit; it did freeze (1394). She is talking about her bottle of fruit which represents
Mrs. Wright life as well. Fruit enclosed in a bottle can last for a while but not forever. It turns rotten.
Mrs. Hale knows that this man locked up Minnie Foster (Mrs. Wright) who was a cheerful sweet
woman in that house, expected her to do everything and knew that after a while her heart would freeze
and she d stop singing. So just like the fruit froze and broke so did Mrs. Wright.
At the end of the play, Mrs. Hale finishes the play with the following statement; We call it knot it, Mr.
Henderson (County Attorney) (1401). Throughout the play the question of whether Mrs. Wright was
going to quilt it or knot it kept coming up. As the play progresses the women find clues and start to
realize that Mrs. Wright killed her husband which is why Mrs. Hale makes that statement. The men do
not realize this though as they always thought of the women s findings as

What Is An Algorithm That Exploit The Sensor Network...
Sensor Network Lifetime Authors in [58], introduced an algorithm that exploit the sensor redundancy
in the same zone by dividing the network into clusters thus the maintaining of the backbone
connectivity can be done by retaining an important set of working nodes and close the redundant ones.
Regarding the communication RTCP denotes equivalent nodes based on the connectivity information
of one hop neighbors which causes in reducing the communication overhead and then the scheduling
of the nodes is done based on that equivalence. RTCP allows only to the elected node to be active in
each cluster. The simulation results reveal that the proposed algorithm outperforms some other
existing algorithms in terms of power consumptions and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, the Bloom filter becomes the name of the node. DINAS addresses the problem of binding
between a name and its IPv6 address, so that the nodes can analyze a name to obtain the address. The
results show that DINAS outperforms the centralized solution. Towards efficient distributed service
discovery in low power and lossy networks EADP [61], proposed a service discovery mechanism
suitable with 6LoWPAN networks. EADP realize fast discovery times, low energy consumption and
low produced overhead with timely interaction to network dynamics. To assure these qualities, EADP
adopts a fully distributed approach based on an adaptive push pull model. EADP was implemented,
evaluated and the simulation results clarify that EADP s capability to ensure all objectives, in terms of
high speed of discovery, low energy consumption and overhead. RTCP Redundancy aware Topology
Control Protocol for Wireless Sensor Network Author in [62], proposed Redundancy aware Topology

organized them into groups, so the connected backbone maintained by keeping some active nodes and
turning off the redundant nodes. Moreover, RTCP aggregate redundant nodes together depend on the
node redundancy degree with considering the Threshold of Connectivity level T¬cl. However, the

I thaught about this becasue she is known as a famous African American that had faught for her rights.
She had always been mistreated for the race she was. However, as I read the first line I noticed how it

The Importance Of Music In The Socialization Of Children...
Music plays and important role in the socialization of children and adolescents. Music is ubiquitous
and easily available, whether through the radio, social media or other media outlets. It provides
entertainment, and is often utilized as a distraction to relieve stress or boredom. However, as lyrics
become more vulgar and explicit, the effect that certain genres of music, such as rap, hip hop and
heavy metal, have on youth, has become of paramount concern. Research has been conducted on
whether a child s or teenager s preference in those types of music could be correlated with negative
behaviors. Delinquent behaviors of youth who listen to those genres of music are often attributed to
the music itself, rather than how the child current mental or emotional state. Parents, unfortunately, are
often unaware of their child s musical habits. Therefore, when a child exhibits any type of negative
behavior, the parent frequently tries to conjure a reason for this misbehavior; More often than not,
when there is not a reasonable cause to the delinquency, many parents blame the particular genre of
music that their child listens to. This attributes to the negative connotation that is often associated with
heavy metal, rap and hip hop music. All genres of music are a form of expression meant to entertain
certain audiences: not to be negatively thought of, because of how certain people react to it. In order to
reduce the negative connotation associated with heavy metal, rap and hip hop

Critical Criticism Of Hester Prynne
Hester Prynne. Not the Heroine.
In the critical essay On the Scarlet Letter , by D.H Lawrence, Lawrence analyzes the character Hester
Prynne from the novel The Scarlet Letter , and how her life is portrayed. According to Lawrence,
Hester is not worthy of the praise she is given by Nathaniel Hawthorne. D.H. Lawrence uses the
techniques of repetition, compact syntax and biblical allusions to effectively convey his negative
attitudes towards Hester Prynne. Lawrence uses the repetition of certain words to drill them into the
reader s mind. The continuous use of the phrase A. Adulteress! throughout the essay reinforces Hester
s sin, and reminds the reader that she is a sinner, rather than someone worthy of praise (Lawrence).
This repetition resembles the physical scarlet letter, in the sense that D.H. Lawrence is shaming Hester
over and over again, similar to how the Puritans shamed Hester throughout her life. Moreover, the
name of the object that was pinned to Hester s breast, The Scarlet Letter is also repeated throughout
Lawrence s essay (Lawrence). By using this phrase, Hester is reduced to her sin, stripping away all of
her good deeds, because the emphasis is placed on her sinful actions rather than her personal qualities
and life after the sin, which does not give the reader a chance to focus on any positive qualities Hester
possesses. In addition, the scarlet letter holds the negative connotations of sin, punishment and
adultery. By repeating Scarlet Letter , the reader s mind is filled with these negative connotations, thus
reiterating Lawrence s opinion that Hester is the source of evil and her actions should not have been
glorified. Lawrence s repetition of these phrases reinforces Hester s sin and shameful actions, which
effectively conveys his dismissive feelings towards Hester. The use of compact syntax highlights
Lawrence s disapproval of Hester Prynne by abruptly and continuously shooting her down. The
concise sentence Adulteress. Alpha. Abel, Adam. A. America shoots at Hester with negative words
(Lawrence). This rapid fire structure effectively degrades Hester as each word delivers an individual
blow to her character and degrades her, by restating her sin, the letter A which

Affairs, Wealth, and Murder in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The...
In The Great Gatsby, Fitzgerald tells about affairs, describes wealth, and tells about Murder. There are
three different murders in The Great Gatsby. An automobile hit and killed Tom s mistress, Myrtle s
companion shot Jay Gatsby, and Wilson committed suicide. Most of these murders happened as a
consequence of the love affairs that happened throughout the book. Two love affairs in particular are a
cause for all three of these murders. One was Tom Buchannan and Myrtle Wilson and the other was
Daisy Buchannan and Jay Gatsby.
The first murder that occurred is the car accident. Tom and Jay Gatsby had a forceful quarrel over
Daisy. This dispute left Daisy tense and puzzled. Daisy left the hotel with Gatsby. Gatsby decided to
let her drive to calm her nerves. As they were passing the gas station that Myrtle and George Wilson
lives in, Myrtle started running toward the vehicle as if she was trying to get it to bring to a halt. Daisy
overlooked it. Instead of decreasing in momentum, Daisy amplified her pace and hit Daisy, Tom s
mistress. Daisy did not stop after hitting Myrtle, instead she sped off (Baker). Once Nick, Tom, and
Jordan passed the gas station, they saw the commotion and decided to stop and check it out. They
found out that the car Daisy and Gatsby departed in had hit and killed Myrtle (Baker). Once they got
back to the residence, Nick confronted Gatsby when he saw him standing in the shrubbery. Gatsby
explained to Nick what happened. Nick rapidly finds out that Daisy

The Social Chaos Of World War I
The Nazis had branded her as a degenerate artist and the Dadaists attempted to push her out. She was
a part of the modernist revolution, and witnessed the rise of the European avant gardes; the
emancipation of women; the growth of photography, cinema, and mass media; and two world wars.
However, she proved herself as a pioneer of photomontage and as a feminist icon. Hannah Höch
focuses her artwork on the political chaos of World War I, as shown in Cut with the Dada Kitchen
Knife through the Last Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch. (Fig. 1)

After the so called socialist revolution in 1918, the Dadaists were highly vocal in their opposition to
the new Republic... The more radical branch of Dada, was the Berlin Dada. They were extremely
critical of the government s gory suppression of the Spartacist rebellion (a general strike) in 1919 and
joined the newly formed Communist Party, the KPD. Hannah Höch was the lone woman artist
associated with the Berlin Dada group.
Cut with the Kitchen Knife/ Political chaos during WW1: As seen in the photomontage, Cut with the
Kitchen Knife Dada through the Last Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch (Fig. 1) reflects how she
viewed the social and political chaos that was prominent during this time in the German culture. The
lengthy war was lost and it had left Germany in a position of political chaos. Her title for this piece
voices her critique of the German military and the male dominated Weimer Republic. The work is a
snapshot of 1920. Höch has interwoven countless details, figures, portraits, mechanical elements,
cityscapes and textual exhortations into her collage.
Cut With the Kitchen Knife Dada through the Last Weimar Beer Belly Cultural Epoch (Fig. 1) is the
largest of Hoch s photo montages. It is about the size of a large poster. The size gives off a confidence
and an independent vision that does not square with her otherwise relative invisibility in the Berlin
Dada. After World War I, the

It is clear from the documents that Andrew Jackson acted like a king. One reason that Andrew Jackson
acted like a king was because he owned slaves throughout his lifetime. Document 7 states that he

Richard Scrushy Case
From ethical and legal perspectives, what do you feel business has learned from the Scrushy situation?
Richard Scrushy defrauded, stakeholders, stockholders, and the community out of millions of dollars.
His deceptive, unethical, and commanding behavior was the stone that caused the biggest
misappropriation avalanche of all time. We must consider this question, how is corporate cheating
happening and who is heading the deception? Behind every crime, there is a ringleader or a group of
individuals calling the shots. In this case, Scrushy was the one who told his family meeting members
to fix financial records, so HealthSouth to meet or exceed the business financial goals. A person from
the beginning may have the objective to cheat; others get sucked into the whirlpool of white collar
crime.
Corporate fraud is rampant, and it is becoming a part of our culture. We expect to hear about some
cheating or embezzlement within the financial world. That should not be the case. However, one
would think that after Tyco, Enron, WorldCom, and more recently VW, that business had learned that
cooking the books or in the case of VW (lie to emission regulators) does not get you a gold medal in
the end.
Arel, Beaudoin, Cianci, (2011) argue that executive ethical leadership and an high quality internal

Explore Shakespeare s Presentation of the Three Great...
During the scenes depicting the Battle of Actium, Shakespeare s presentation of Octavius Caesar,
Mark Antony and Cleopatra cause the balance of audience sympathy to change between the three great

audience feels increasingly alienated from him. This is largely due to his calculated, ruthless style of
leadership, which becomes more evident during the battle. Caesar judges wisely, and is successful
because of this, and by Act III, Scene 7 he has already defeated Toryne – previously one of Antony s
territories. In Act III, Scene 12, Shakespeare presents Caesar as a callous and cruel leader, as he hears

Also, though unwisely, Antony suggests a feast for their comfort , and this summarises his leadership,
as he is no longer presented by Shakespeare as a great and powerful leader, but as a kind and generous
man. Caesar appears to be a heartless leader, detached from the people, whereas Antony shows his
emotions and, thus, appears more human, which causes the audience to sympathise with him. In Act
IV, Scenes 5 and 8, Shakespeare presents Antony as a great leader once again, as he defeats Caesar s
land army, winning an unexpected victory and causing the audience to venerate him once more,
instead of feeling pity for his predicament. However, this triumph is short lived, and in Act IV, Scene
12, Antony s navy surrenders to Caesar without a fight, deserting Antony, leaving him feeling
betrayed, and, once again, the audience sympathy shifts even further towards Antony. Cleopatra
develops as a character during this sequence, becoming more sensible and less melodramatic in
response to trivial problems. In Act III, Scene 7, Enobarbus tells Cleopatra not to be involved in the
battle itself, saying that: If we

How Does Jon Krakauer Use Of Logos In Into Thin Air
In Jon Krakauer s Memoir Into Thin Air, Krakauer uses a variety of elements to make his story more
effective. Prevalent in Into Thin Air, are Krakauer s uses of both logos and imagery to convey his
experience on Everest. The facts and descriptions in the memoir tie the story together and captivate
the reader. Throughout the book, Krakauer utilizes facts and information through logos to portray the
expedition in the most accurate way possible. Firstly, Krakauer identifies the time that events, no
matter how small, are happening, giving the reader a sense of the pace of the excursion. Without the
timeline he creates in the story, the reader would not have as thorough an understanding of the events.
In addition, Krakauer enumerates all the statistics of events on Everest comparing 1996 to other years,
to conclude that 1996 was actually a safer than average year (page 287); without these statistics within
the epilogue of the memoir it would be hard to believe that claim that Krakauer has ... Show more

Krakauer vividly describes the entire expedition, and he does not hold back from the gruesome details.
In chapter five on page 62, Andy Harris is described violently discharging the contents of his

captivating and memorable. Everest being a place that most people have not been and probably will
not go, Krakauer s descriptions of the mountain at different times are essential to the progression of
the story and the attention of the reader. In chapter nineteen, Krakauer paints a picture of a jagged
horizon and the coronalike glow that flickered and pulsed (page 257), providing a stronger sense of
the environment. Overall, the imagery in Into Thin Air strongly depicts the expedition in an

The Themes of Noting and Deception in Much Ado About Nothing Discuss the themes of noting and
deception in Much Ado About Nothing The play Much Ado About Nothing was written by Williams
Shakespeare in the late 1600 s and over four centuries later it is still a significantly popular play and
has widespread appeal. The play explores many themes including love, treachery, friendship, society
and traditions. These five themes mentioned are still very much relevant in a lot of people s lives
today. You ll find that a lot of television programmes, movies, magazines and novels are structured
around at least one or more of these themes, if not all at the same time. The title Much Ado ... Show

Throughout the play Shakespeare uses the wittiness of the numerous characters taking part in the
performance to demonstrate his fondness of using puns, sexual innuendos and creating double
meanings. Puns, sexual innuendos and double meanings can be a technique of deception, the title
Much Ado About Nothing being the very first example. This is due to the way Shakespeare plays with
the word nothing in the title Much Ado About Nothing . In the late 16th century the word nothing
would have been pronounced noting Thus, the play s title could read: Much Ado About Noting .
Already Shakespeare hints that there might be a double meaning involving the word nothing . Without
a doubt many of the players participate in the actions of observing, listening and writing, or noting.
Also, in Shakespeare s period, a thing referred to a man s genitals, so therefore the word no thing may
have been an Elizabethan euphemism for female genitalia. This might insinuate Shakespeare s love of
using sexual innuendos to create double meanings, a means of deception and henceforth connecting to
the title once again. Another example of Shakespeare using sexual innuendos as a method of deception
is the conversation between Benedick and

Is Gaming A Sport
The Cambridge University defines a sport as a game, competition, or similar activity, done for
enjoyment or as a job that takes physical effort and skill and is played or done by following particular
rules. By this definition, would you consider professional gaming a sport? Do all sports have to have
physical movement? People often judge professional gaming because it seems like it takes no physical
effort other than hand eye coordination. However, they don t realize the stress and mental state, like
that of an athlete, that is needed to perform at a high level. There are actually more similarities than
you might think.
If Chess is considered a sport based on the facts that it requires strategy and competition, aren t video
games based on the same principles? Like Chess, you have to practice and you have to anticipate
moves of your opponent. However, unlike other sports, gaming is not focused on just one activity but

Neonatal Coarctation Research Paper
Transcathter Management for Neonatal Coarctation
Coarctation of the aorta usually affects the aortic aspect of the insertion of the ductus arteriosus
(Isthmus). Theoretically, it might be explained by an abnormal migration of the ductal smooth muscle
cells into the periductal area in early the fetal life. This theory can explain the narrowing and
constriction of the aorta in the periductal area. 1
Neonates with critical coarctation may present with circulatory collapse when the ductus closes. Less
severe obstructions may present with congestive heart failure, systemic hypertension in the upper
extremities, diminished lower extremity pulses, deferential cyanosis or symptoms secondary to other
associated defects.
For neonates presenting with cardiac shock, stabilization by maximizing cardiac output should be
attempted vigorously. This include starting PGE 1 infusion to maintain the patency of PDA and

Recommendation: In order for both Burger King and Tim Hortons to reach their maximum growth

the company should implement a combination of alternatives 2 and 3. The main justifications are as

Depending on the execution and implementation of an expansion and its success rates, shares could go
up or down in value accordingly, which then effects the companies shareholders. An unsuccessful
attempt to expand into US markets also puts the companies at risk for experiencing loss in capital.
Many new stores will have to be designed and built in the US markets in convenient locations. One
must recall that Wendy s absorbed the company in 1995, and only 11 years later spun it off as its own
company again. Wendy s could not figure out how to successfully expand Tim Hortons in the US,
which makes one wonder if Burger King will be any different. It has been proven before through the
example of Wendy s and Krispy Kreme that it is difficult to penetrate markets across borders
(Hemmadi, 2014). Implications on the Personnel: The merge of Burger King and Tim Hortons will
undoubtedly have considerable effects on the personnel of both companies while an expansion into
US markets will result in more substantial effects. First, if the company chooses to expand in the US,
and chooses to relocate the headquarters of Burger King to Canada, this will cause a lot of
administrative employees of Burger King to relocate as well. This type of relocation would also be a

Notes On The Value Of Diversification
The value of diversification Introduction Every finance students have learnt diversification is to
reduce total risk by investing a basket of assets in portfolios. But what contributes to the success of
portfolio diversification? A large number of assets? A variety types of asset allocation? Adding
international investment? Numerous of risk factors? They are all indicators of a well diversified
portfolio. In this case, we will discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of diversification in
portfolio management with related indicators. On one hand, some mention dynamic and numerous
assets allocation in the portfolio will reduce both risks. While some also state the benefit of introduce
multi factor portfolio pricing models. On the other hand, arguments arise demonstrating adding
international investment may disappoint investors because foreign market could be correlated and

diversification. At the end, a balanced conclusion will be drawn to support the useful diversification.
Dynamic and numerous asset allocation benefits Since there are two types of risk we need to account
for: systematic risk and idiosyncratic risk, the easiest one to be diversified away is the idiosyncratic
risk. It is known that an optimal portfolio could gain on diversification by investing a large basket of

What are the different threats to the sustainability of Synthes` competitive advantage?
Synthes has several threats to consider in the near and upcoming future. The first threat we can talk
about is with regards to imitation. Imitation is a big deal in the internal fixation device industry.
Synthes has become the leader in this market due to several competitive advantages, for example the
affiliation with AO, which surgeons take as a sign of confidence. These advantages have been able to

The threat level is still low because the first trial of bioresorbable failed and the second generation has
not yet fully convinced surgeons. But most doctors seem open to the idea or already use some of the
bioresorbable derivatives to substitute some of Synthes` products today. The difference from the first
generation bioresorbable products to the second one improved drastically and the third generation
could eventually be almost as effective as today s solutions. If Synthes is not fully prepared there
could be a very big threat to the company not only in sales but also reputation because they are known
for being the top dog and always offering the newest products for internal fixation. A company with a
similar strategy (affiliation to AO, good sales reps, high quality product) could not only imitate but
also substitute if the product part were to be able to be effective and accepted by doctors. Although
there are threats in a competitive industry such as this one, we believe that Synthes has enough actual
and probable competitive advantages to sustain throughout time as a leader in the internal fixation
industry. When we discuss the S Curve for Synthes, we could see that bioresorbable technology is
slow and improving poorly because it is not understood quite well. If anybody gets it right we could

The Common Characteristics Of Christianity And Christianity
One may argue that all religions are the same at the core, however different religions advances very
different teachings of the most important subject. That subject is how to achieve the goal of where you
will remain in the afterlife. Islam is one of the oldest religions practiced today. Zoroya (2015), Islam is

Although there are many religions we will compare Islam with the common characteristics of other

Common Characteristics
Muslims are people who submit to God and their religion is called Islam. Islam has a monotheism
faith believing in one God denouncing any other messiah or deity. Muslims often refer to God as
Allah, which is considered the universal God not be mistaken of a God of only the Islam faith. Islam is
based on one faith that God or Allah is the creator of the universe and his greatness cannot be
compared with his creation. God is the only one to be praised and only one deserving of worship.
Muslims believe God created man for one purpose, to worship him. Muslims refer to the Quran for
direction of how to live, worship, and carry out assignment to fulfill the requirements of life. This may
sound familiar to the Christian faith because according to Luke 4:8 in the Holy Bible, Jesus tells

Penalizing Profanity Promotes Use of It
Profane language is used once every six minutes on network television shows, every two minutes on

the Centre for Media and Public Affairs¹.
Upon learning this information, one would make the assumption that profanity is another common

Why? Because of the Toronto District School Board s Zero Tolerance ². However, the usage of
tobacco and alcohol is also liable to a 20 day suspension. Whether this was intended for or not, the
TDSB is promoting the image that usage of profane language is equivalent to that of tobacco and
alcohol. Its guidelines state that The Toronto District School Board is committed to providing a safe
learning and working environment for all students, staff and visitors to our schools . This statement
leads one to believe that the TDSB s mission is to keep its students safe by omitting and eliminating

Some people have taken the usage of profane language as far as legal punishment. During an incident
in Standish, Michigan in August of 1998, a man was charged for using profane language, in
accordance to a 104 year old law, which forbids cussing in front of women and children. ³ The
incident began when 24 year old Timothy Boomer fell out of his canoe while heading down stream.
As he flopped in the water, he began yelling in the direction of his friends, inadvertently using
profanity as a means to attract their attention, as well as communicate urgency. Shortly following his

Cache located between CPU and RAM. It is a high speed memory that accelerates CPU to exchange
information from RAM (Shelly, et al, 2008). Cache works in a frequently accessible files and
programs in the computer so it can be processed in shorter time. For example, a secretary s computer
which used for typing a lot will have its word processing program opened faster than the other staffs
computer.
Secondary storage * Stokes (2008) states that secondary storage is used for saving files and
information in the matter of capacity. When programs are installed into the computer or files are
inserted, secondary memory is the place where all the stuffs are put into. It gives information about
how much computer can store data in its system. Files, programs, and other stuffs that put in
secondary storage are saved permanently in the system. So, when the computer is off, the stuffs will
stay at the same state and condition without having any lost parts.
Picture 2.1 Secondary storage works like cloth drawers for computers. As long as there is a space, it is
fine to put more things. Image source: http://corriehaffly.wordpress.com
There are various forms of secondary storage. Some attached in CPU and some is separated from
computer. These are the kinds of it.

Persuasive Essay On Pet Adoption
Pet Adoption AD s
There are numerous reasons why one should make wise decision before adopting a dog. The first you
get to save a life by choosing to adopt. In the United Sates, more than two million dogs are available
to be adopted every year. One of the reason there are so many dogs up for adoption is a lot of owners
surrender their pets to the animal shelter. There are also benefits to adopting a dog from a shelter, it
helps pay for the shelter to save more dogs and to find homes for other dogs. There is also a
misconception that s animals in the shelter have something wrong with them. There is numerous
reason as to why someone would surrender a dog to the shelter, other than health problems. They also
make sure the dogs are healthy before they leave the shelter. Also, it is usually cheaper to purchase a
dog from an animal rescue center than a pet store.
Another reason people adopt dogs for a pet is that he can help improve the mood of their owners. By
adopting a dog, you can help improve yours and the dog s life. But you also must be careful about

The name of the person that found it was Mac Brazel and he lived just outside of Roswell, New
Mexico(History.com para 1). The object he found look like something out of this world with metallic
sticks held together with tape, chunks of plastic and a reflecting surface. After the find Mac called the
police and in turn the police called the air base on the outside of town. Then the army came and toke it

Alexis De Tocqueville Cold War
In 1835, French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that, There are at the present time two great
nations in the world [...] I allude to the Russians and the Americans [...] Their starting point is
different, and their courses are not the same; yet each of them seems marked out by the will of Heaven
to sway the destines of half the globe. Tocqueville s insightful view was proven in the aftermath of the
Second World War with the emergence of a bipolar international system where the American and
Soviets sought geopolitical, ideological and economic hegemony.
The Cold War encompassed a lengthy period of the world history spanning from 1945, after the end of
the Second World War to 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, the relations between
the Soviet Union and the United States had always been lukewarm at best as distinct differences in the
political systems of the two countries often hindered them from reaching a mutual understanding that
led to shift between cautious cooperation to bitter superpower rivalry over the years. The fluctuate
relations between the two power eventually reached its peak with a hostile rivalry that lasted for
almost half of a century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Cold War literature generally is described by historians in the form of Hegelian triptych. From
this, three school of thoughts that provide interpretative accounts of the origins of the Cold War can be
identified i.e. the Traditionalist, the Revisionist and the

Figurative Language And Metaphors
We were all taught about similes and metaphors at school: figurative language that allows us to not
only read about something, but to help create a picture in our head. For example, the phrase her eyes
were blue is very plain and to the point. Her eyes were as bright as stars makes them seem bright,
welcoming, sparkling. She had stars for eyes is much more vivid, even though technically it says the
same thing. Metaphors offer much more vivid imagery because they say something is something else.
When you declare that something is something else, not just like it, it shows a strength in your
conviction and a confidence in what you re saying. That being said, metaphors are much more difficult
(in my opinion) to come up with. All things

Photo Ethnography
My photo ethnography is based off my experience at a church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The name
of it is Saint Luke Church of God in Christ. Saint Luke is pastored by Elder Earl Shannon, is located
in the beautiful city of Olive Branch, Mississippi. They offer a big selection of ministries designed to
meet the needs of families in the Olive Branch area. Saint Luke is also nicknamed, The Ark of the
Community . Saint Luke has a long history dating back to 1925. In 1925 Charles and Millississ
Shannon established Saint Luke Church of God in Christ. Saint Luke started out with just about
twelve members. Back then each church service was held in the homes of the members. Saint Luke s
first pastor was Elder Bonner. Elder Bonner was succeeded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Perhaps it was because I m Catholic and not Pentecostal. Everyone in the sanctuary was moving
around and socializing. Members of the church walked to the front of the altar and praised by the
means of the Holy Spirit. It was a lot the different than my church but it was really a great experience.
The members of the church raise their hands, kneel to god, and speak in tongues. Speaking in tongues
simply means speaking to God in a way that they don t understand themselves because the Holy Spirit
fills their body. Another thing that was different about this church was the choir. Their choir was
amazing and every selection they sung made me feel good inside. I got chills from some of the notes
they hit. This church was very prompt and orderly. It started with a prayer from one of the Deacons of
the church. The deacon openly asked the congregation for prayer requests and testimonies. One young
lady gave a testimony about how she wanted to thank God for letting her see another day and healing
her from cancer. It was also a special service honoring the Olive Branch Police Department. I ve never
seen anything like that during a church service, it was really amazing and touching. Another thing they
did that was uncommon to me was an altar call. Towards the end of the service Elder Shannon called
for an altar call. Altar call is when the members of the church go up to the altar for prayer.

Cultural Beliefs And Cultures Of South Africa Cultural/Spiritual Beliefs and Ideologies Cultural Beliefs and Influences Everyone has cultural beliefs that may be passed down from generations, or in the society they live in, and it is the way of leading life. It has been well documented that human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) have been the leading causes of death among people living in South Africa. Over 1.8 million people have died from AIDS (Iwelunmor Airhihenbuwa, 2012). The cultural practices of South Africa have influenced the wide spread of HIV/AIDS in that country. There is a need to take Zambian or African culture seriously in order to look at the salient elements of cultural practices in rites of passage that influence the spread of HIV and AIDS (Moyo Muller, 2011). Giving birth to a child is considered special, value and brings respect, and high societal status in South African culture. If a woman has not gotten pregnant after some time of their marriage, the husband is asked to make special arrangements with another woman to see if she gets pregnant by the husband. If there is a problem with the husband, the family will make special arrangements with another man until the woman conceives. This is kept secret and money is given as a gift for the favor. The forced ranking is a very harsh rating system in my eyes. I believe the forced ranking system is unethical. Eliminating the bottom ten of an organization ever year can be costly to a company. It promotes employee turnover and increases the company s labor cost. Recruiting, hiring and training new people to replace the terminated employees can be very expensive. There is no guarantee that the newly hired employees will be any better than the old employees that were eliminated. This system is not fair to employees and emp0loyees don t have faith in this system. There is better ways to manage performance and there are effective ways to improve performance level of employees. Management can control performance by exploring the causes of performance problem, what cause the problem, develop an effective plan and empower their employees to reach a solution, communicate with the worker and provide positive feedback. Once an employee has been identified as a non productive employees, management should find out why the employee is not productive and offer them coaching or training to help the individual. 2. However, their Swiss Energy Program should be added to that list and taken into consideration and emulated by other countries, like the United States. Similar to the Kyoto Protocol, the Swiss Energy Program introduced a CO2 Act, which planned to reduce their carbon emissions by ten percent by the year 2010. They were slightly successful, however compared to the United States, their carbon emissions are unsubstantial. Switzerland also implemented a Nuclear Phase out plan which would completely stop the use of nuclear energy by the year 2034. Since Switzerland uses nuclear energy for 40 percent of their energy, this plan would be effective by increasing energy efficiency in other renewable energy sources. Finally, Switzerland promotes energy efficiency through their Swiss Energy Program by implementing the Energy Strategy 2050. This strategy has five main objectives Switzerland intends to accomplish by 2050 which include reducing energy consumption, broadening electricity supply, maintaining electricity imports, strengthening energy research, and encouraging international cooperation. Sensor Network Lifetime Authors in [58], introduced an algorithm that exploit the sensor redundancy in the same zone by dividing the network into clusters thus the maintaining of the backbone connectivity can be done by retaining an important set of working nodes and close the redundant ones. Regarding the communication RTCP denotes equivalent nodes based on the connectivity information of one hop neighbors which causes in reducing the communication overhead and then the scheduling of the nodes is done based on that equivalence. Music is ubiquitous and easily available, whether through the radio, social media or other media outlets. It provides entertainment, and is often utilized as a distraction to relieve stress or boredom. However, as lyrics become more vulgar and explicit, the effect that certain genres of music, such as rap, hip hop and heavy metal, have on youth, has become of paramount concern. Research has been conducted on whether a child s or teenager s preference in those types of music could be correlated with negative behaviors. Delinquent behaviors of youth who listen to those genres of music are often attributed to the music itself, rather than how the child current mental or emotional state. Parents, unfortunately, are often unaware of their child s musical habits. • 10. Critical Criticism Of Hester Prynne Hester Prynne. Not the Heroine. In the critical essay On the Scarlet Letter , by D.H Lawrence, Lawrence analyzes the character Hester Prynne from the novel The Scarlet Letter , and how her life is portrayed. According to Lawrence, Hester is not worthy of the praise she is given by Nathaniel Hawthorne. D.H. Lawrence uses the techniques of repetition, compact syntax and biblical allusions to effectively convey his negative attitudes towards Hester Prynne. Lawrence uses the repetition of certain words to drill them into the reader s mind. The continuous use of the phrase A. Adulteress! throughout the essay reinforces Hester s sin, and reminds the reader that she is a sinner, rather than someone worthy of praise (Lawrence). This repetition resembles the physical scarlet letter, in the sense that D.H. Lawrence is shaming Hester over and over again, similar to how the Puritans shamed Hester throughout her life. Moreover, the name of the object that was pinned to Hester s breast, The Scarlet Letter is also repeated throughout Lawrence s essay (Lawrence). By using this phrase, Hester is reduced to her sin, stripping away all of her good deeds, because the emphasis is placed on her sinful actions rather than her personal qualities and life after the sin, which does not give the reader a chance to focus on any positive qualities Hester possesses. In addition, the scarlet letter holds the negative connotations of sin, punishment and adultery. By repeating Scarlet Letter , the reader s mind is filled with these negative connotations, thus reiterating Lawrence s opinion that Hester is the source of evil and her actions should not have been glorified. Lawrence s repetition of these phrases reinforces Hester s sin and shameful actions, which effectively conveys his dismissive feelings towards Hester. The use of compact syntax highlights Lawrence s disapproval of Hester Prynne by abruptly and continuously shooting her down. The concise sentence Adulteress. Alpha. Abel, Adam. A. America shoots at Hester with negative words (Lawrence). This rapid fire structure effectively degrades Hester as each word delivers an individual blow to her character and degrades her, by restating her sin, the letter A which ... During the scenes depicting the Battle of Actium, Shakespeare s presentation of Octavius Caesar, Mark Antony and Cleopatra cause the balance of audience sympathy to change between the three great leaders. Audience sympathy never lies by any real amount with Caesar, and in Acts III and IV, the audience feels increasingly alienated from him. This is largely due to his calculated, ruthless style of leadership, which becomes more evident during the battle. Caesar judges wisely, and is successful because of this, and by Act III, Scene 7 he has already defeated Toryne – previously one of Antony s territories. • 43. Alexis De Tocqueville Cold War In 1835, French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville wrote that, There are at the present time two great nations in the world [...] I allude to the Russians and the Americans [...] Their starting point is different, and their courses are not the same; yet each of them seems marked out by the will of Heaven to sway the destines of half the globe. Tocqueville s insightful view was proven in the aftermath of the Second World War with the emergence of a bipolar international system where the American and Soviets sought geopolitical, ideological and economic hegemony. The Cold War encompassed a lengthy period of the world history spanning from 1945, after the end of the Second World War to 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, the relations between the Soviet Union and the United States had always been lukewarm at best as distinct differences in the political systems of the two countries often hindered them from reaching a mutual understanding that led to shift between cautious cooperation to bitter superpower rivalry over the years. The fluctuate relations between the two power eventually reached its peak with a hostile rivalry that lasted for almost half of a century. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 44. Figurative Language And Metaphors We were all taught about similes and metaphors at school: figurative language that allows us to not only read about something, but to help create a picture in our head. For example, the phrase her eyes were blue is very plain and to the point. Her eyes were as bright as stars makes them seem bright, welcoming, sparkling. She had stars for eyes is much more vivid, even though technically it says the same thing. Metaphors offer much more vivid imagery because they say something is something else. When you declare that something is something else, not just like it, it shows a strength in your conviction and a confidence in what you re saying. That being said, metaphors are much more difficult (in my opinion) to come up with. All things ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Photo Ethnography My photo ethnography is based off my experience at a church in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The name of it is Saint Luke Church of God in Christ. Saint Luke is pastored by Elder Earl Shannon, is located in the beautiful city of Olive Branch, Mississippi. They offer a big selection of ministries designed to meet the needs of families in the Olive Branch area. Saint Luke is also nicknamed, The Ark of the Community . Saint Luke has a long history dating back to 1925. In 1925 Charles and Millississ Shannon established Saint Luke Church of God in Christ. Saint Luke started out with just about twelve members. Back then each church service was held in the homes of the members. Saint Luke s first pastor was Elder Bonner. Elder Bonner was succeeded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Perhaps it was because I m Catholic and not Pentecostal. Everyone in the sanctuary was moving around and socializing. Members of the church walked to the front of the altar and praised by the means of the Holy Spirit. It was a lot the different than my church but it was really a great experience. The members of the church raise their hands, kneel to god, and speak in tongues. Speaking in tongues simply means speaking to God in a way that they don t understand themselves because the Holy Spirit fills their body. Another thing that was different about this church was the choir. Their choir was amazing and every selection they sung made me feel good inside. I got chills from some of the notes they hit. This church was very prompt and orderly. It started with a prayer from one of the Deacons of the church. The deacon openly asked the congregation for prayer requests and testimonies. One young lady gave a testimony about how she wanted to thank God for letting her see another day and healing her from cancer. It was also a special service honoring the Olive Branch Police Department. I ve never seen anything like that during a church service, it was really amazing and touching. Another thing they did that was uncommon to me was an altar call. Towards the end of the service Elder Shannon called for an altar call. Altar call is when the members of the church go up to the altar for prayer. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
