Motion Graphics Proposal
1. Target audience
The target audience will be 18-32 this will because I wish to focus on a younger target audience for the universal
channel but I also want people older than this to be able to watch the channel however primary the audience will be
18-32 though I don't want to diverge into a youth channel. Therefore the

I will set the specifications for the video to be that of standard broadcasting so that my audience will able to watch the ident at the highest
quality on the channel. The ident will therefore delivered at 25FPS. Specification for the ident is to included a motion track and compositing
shots using original footage and I will included this in my idents alongside animation so that it fits the concept and tone of what I wish my
channel to be. The audience will see the ident on my channel as a break/filler in between advertainment and just before and after a show
has finished to promote and inform the audience of what is on next and what is also available online as well.
Content
I aim to produce at least one full functional ident that will be apart of the channel The Grid. The ident will include a
variety of visual techniques such as a compositing shot, a motion track for example. Overall the ident should last 45
seconds at most. The compositing shot will feature original filmed footage that will probably be filmed within a studio
and with a green screen.
Purpose
The ident will overall be to entertain as one of my main themes that I talked about in my research is entertainment. In
saying this however I also want the ident to offer some form of information to the audience and I will do this
acoustically rather than visually.
2. Management and Roles
Overall the project will be managed by myself individually however I will require some assistance from peers, people in
my class. This can be from help with any filming that I will need to also just there opinion on what they think about the
end product. I will more than likely require help during my production with me filming in the green screen.
Budget
For the actual project there is no real budget as all the planning, production and editing will all be free and the majority
will all be done with college time with some of it being done outside as well.
For a hypothetical budget I will have to take into consideration much more such as booking an actual camera, editing
suite and all the software but also I will have to consider a cast and crew to go alongside. It shouldn't be a big budget
due to the fact that I wont be filming and it will be mostly within animation and after effects. If this was a real project
with series idents as part of a suite I would then also need to hire different people so that the accents vary accordingly
to show diversity as part of the universal channel and the theme of togetherness.
Importance of planning
It important to plan because it allows for easier time management so that everything will be done and completed in
time. By planning and completing my research it also means that I have a good understanding of what I want to create
and therefore during the actual production stage it will be a lot easier to split and dedicate as I have a good basic
understanding of what I want to do. It means to time wont be wasted.
