Target audience
From the research of some existing sports channel , my target audiences demographic will be an age range of 30 – 45,
this is because from other sport channel I research have a similar age range. The gender will be mainly suited for males,
social grade generally at abc1, north and west region of the united kingdom, work at a ICT profession and a right wing
politic.
Medium of delivery and specifications
The idents will preview on the Grid’s sports television channel during the programs break. The ident will also be shown
on the social media aspects such as the grids YouTube channel and the channels website. The duration of the video will
be around 45 seconds long. The broadcast standard will be 1080 i50. The audio will have football related noise that
represents sports.
Content
I am aiming to produce a 45 second ident that will represents the sports channel. The ident will be made out of mix of
motion graphics, with moving images e.g. an animation of some squares moves around a circle. Their will be some
sports theme background such as stadium, basketball court and it will transition smoothly to different sports theme
background. The squares will have the sports related objects inside such as a football, baseball and rugby ball. They
will be a glow effect animation to give the ident a futuristic and creative look. The audio will have a cinematic theme
fanfare with crowd noise sound effects.
Purpose
The purpose of this ident is to entertain the sports fans and audiences. My main intention for this ident is to also inform
the viewers what kind of content and programs they are watching, and what kind of channel we represent.
I also want to make the ident look creative and attract viewers to watch more of the channel programs.
Management and Roles
To make the ident I will create a time plan that will help me focus and finish on time. The roles I will undertake will be a
editor, director and cameraman. I would also need help so I would require an actor that can be in the shot, a location
scouter that can suggest where to film. A technical assistance (grip) that can help with set up of the shooting
production and carries the equipment.
Budget
The props I would need to buy or hire includes a football, basket ball, snooker table, baseball, sports theme clothing,
sporting venue, music composer, editing software, after effects software, high definition video camera, lighting
equipment, sound recorder, tri pod, football theme extras, editing room, delivery truck, taxis, food and refreshments.
Importance of planning
Its important to plan and organise your work because it helps you what you going to create. E.g. thinking about the
visual look, the sounds and does the ident suit the target audience ? Is it enough screen time to show the channels
identity (Sports). In particular research also helps you to prevent mistakes, it also helps prevent copyright because you
can look at existing products and ensure you do not infringe on copyright. Its useful to know what mistakes and
problems you may have during the production of the project, e.g. time managing, how long will it take me to edit and
film the ident? Budgeting, will their be enough money for the idents budget.

Their will be some sports theme background such as stadium, basketball court and it will transition smoothly to different sports theme background. The squares will have the sports related objects inside such as a football, baseball and rugby ball. They will be a glow effect animation to give the ident a futuristic and creative look. The audio will have a cinematic theme fanfare with crowd noise sound effects. Purpose The purpose of this ident is to entertain the sports fans and audiences. My main intention for this ident is to also inform the viewers what kind of content and programs they are watching, and what kind of channel we represent. I also want to make the ident look creative and attract viewers to watch more of the channel programs.
  • 2. Management and Roles To make the ident I will create a time plan that will help me focus and finish on time. The roles I will undertake will be a editor, director and cameraman. I would also need help so I would require an actor that can be in the shot, a location scouter that can suggest where to film. A technical assistance (grip) that can help with set up of the shooting production and carries the equipment. Budget The props I would need to buy or hire includes a football, basket ball, snooker table, baseball, sports theme clothing, sporting venue, music composer, editing software, after effects software, high definition video camera, lighting equipment, sound recorder, tri pod, football theme extras, editing room, delivery truck, taxis, food and refreshments. Importance of planning Its important to plan and organise your work because it helps you what you going to create. E.g. thinking about the visual look, the sounds and does the ident suit the target audience ? Is it enough screen time to show the channels identity (Sports). In particular research also helps you to prevent mistakes, it also helps prevent copyright because you can look at existing products and ensure you do not infringe on copyright. Its useful to know what mistakes and problems you may have during the production of the project, e.g. time managing, how long will it take me to edit and film the ident? Budgeting, will their be enough money for the idents budget.
