Program Introduction

3. Renewal Testing Course Purpose
• Designed for former CPS Technicians who have
maintained their knowledge and skills.
• NOT a refresher course. It is expected you have
stayed involved in CPS programs and activities
and kept up with changes in field.
• An opportunity to renew certification without
having to retake the entire certification course.
• Upon successful completion of this course, you
will again be a certified CPS Technician.

• Select appropriate car seats and booster seats
and secure children in vehicle restraint systems
according to best practice guidelines and
manufacturer instructions.
• Teach others how to install car seats and
booster seats in multiple types of vehicles
according to manufacturer instructions and best
practice guidelines.
