1) The document discusses the conclusions of a mind map for a pop music video about the song "Let It Roll" by Flo-Rida.
2) It was decided the video would have a hybrid narrative, performance and abstract style showing people having a good time to relate to the song's lyrics about partying.
3) A variety of camera shots like close-ups, long shots, and tracking shots using a handheld camera were chosen to keep an abstract feel and capture the fun party atmosphere.

Mind Mapping for Pharmacy Education and PracticeMaha Atef
The mind map is a radially arranged diagram that represents words & ideas linked to a central idea.
To clarify this definition, I’m going to show you one of my mind maps that I have done during my study for the pathology course.
This is a Power Point Presentation I prepared Soon After attending the First Mind mapping workshop conducted by Dharmendar Rai, Mumbai ( June 2010 ) .Till then I did not know How to do a PPt. Presentation .Attending the workshop helped me because there was synergy .I used a mid map to prepare the PPt. presentation .As I have stopped using it since then due to my interest in Accelerated L-Earning I have been looking for Opportunities to Share it .Raju Mandhyan sharing his slides has prompted me to share it on FB .It is Unique in that there are ONLY pictures with the minimum of Captions

1. Mind map conclusion.
We decided to have the genre of our music video as pop as this targets a mainstream
audience. The song we chose to use is Flo-Rida’s ‘Let it roll’, we selected this song as the
lyrics have no real meaning which left us with a lot of options for what we could make the
music video about. As it is of the pop genre it will have a lot of the typical conventions of
pop which are, high key lighting, bright colours, dancing/party atmosphere, fast and slow
paced editing. As we were putting together the mind map we were able to consider
whether to do the music video as a parody, narrative, abstract or performance, we chose to
go for a hybrid style of video with a mix of narrative, performance and abstract. As the song
is all about having a good time we decided to just show a lot of different clips of people
having a good time. Our music video will relate to the lyrics on a whole but will not relate to
each individual lyric.
We have chosen to use a variety of different camera shots for example, we will use close
ups to show expressions, long shots to show the party atmosphere, high angle shots to
show everything that is going on, we are also going to use panning and tracking perhaps
showing someone running, all these shots will be used to create the fun vibe of the video.
We plan on using a hand held camera for pretty much all the shots in our video, we feel this
will give the feel of freedom and keep in line with the abstract style of video. We want to
use as many different camera shots as possible to keep with the abstract format of the
video. The editing used in my video will be fast paced this will be contrapuntal to the song
we have chosen ‘Let It Roll’ this will make the video more enjoyable to watch, however we
will have some slow paced editing for example we may have a clip with people dancing in
slow motion. There will be many jump cuts keeping in line with the abstract video concept,
during research I found out that the jump cut is very popular with the abstract videos. There
will be editing techniques such as shallow depth of field and deep depth of field used this
will be used to add emphasis on certain parts of the music video which are important to the
meaning of the song which is all about having a good time for example a specific character
or prop.
For the types of characters in our music video we are going to show ‘rebellious teens’
drinking alcohol and such as we think this relates well to our target audience. We will also
use attractive females within the video doing flirtatious things such as winking as we have
found this is popular within the Pop genre and this also bodes well with our song. For the
iconography we will encode alcohol, relationships, happy teenage life. We will use flashing
lights to create a party atmosphere and use alcohol to display the rebellious teens, as teens
nowadays are rebellious so we want to make an accurate portrayal of today’s teenage life.
For the settings of our video we have chosen to use a variety of different settings in order to
show many different ways of having fun, some of the settings we will be using are, in the
local pub, in a club, outside on a field, in the woods, in the home, in the car we feel the
variety of locations will add an exciting feeling to the video. We will be using high key
2. lighting for the majority of the video in order to create a happy feeling to the video. All in all
we feel all these factors will add up to making a really successful pop music video.
