A MindMap is a visual note-taking technique that represents ideas, words or concepts arranged radially around a central concept. It uses images, colors and words to depict associations between related ideas and allows for creative thinking. MindMaps follow basic guidelines - starting with a central image and branching out lines of different thickness connected to key words or ideas. They work with the brain's natural way of forming associations and are an effective learning and problem-solving tool.

This document discusses the concept of radiant thinking and mind mapping. It begins by explaining that radiant thinking refers to thought processes that connect to a central point, like branches radiating from a tree. Mind mapping is introduced as a visual thinking technique where ideas branch out from a central theme in an nonlinear fashion. The document provides examples of mind maps and their benefits over linear note taking, such as improved memory, concentration, and association between ideas. It encourages developing one's own visual thinking style and discusses how technology like mind mapping software can support this approach.

What is Mind Mapping? (English Version)MindProject
Mind mapping is a graphic technique developed by Tony Buzan to organize ideas and concepts generated by both hemispheres of the brain in a visual way. It involves starting with a central concept or idea and radiating associated thoughts, words and images around it as branches in a nonlinear format. Mind maps allow for creativity in organizing large amounts of information and can be used for note-taking, problem-solving, planning projects and optimizing brainstorming sessions by harnessing the full power of human cognition. An example mind map by Philippe Boukobza visually organizes and links his various social media identities online in an effective representation of the technique.
This document discusses concept mapping and mind mapping. It provides an overview of concept mapping as a research tool to represent concepts and interrelationships visually, while mind mapping is a special technique using brief notes and colored images to engage both sides of the brain. The document demonstrates how to create a basic concept map and mind map, and lists some applications such as for evaluation, brainstorming, organizing information, and as a memory aid. Finally, it discusses strategies for creating mind maps and provides examples of their use for meetings, problem solving, and business planning.

The first few slides are just bullet points mostly... there's a reason for that. Slide 5 starts to pick up the pace. This is a short primer on how to mind map and why they can be so effective. I've given this presentation to CEO Peer Groups and it is always successful with lots of questions and interaction. As a normal course I use Mind Maps to solve problems and build strategies for the Market Development work that I consult on for clients. If you like the presentation, will you "tweet" it for me?

Are you new to data warehouses (DWH)? Do you need to check whether your data warehouse follows the best practices for a good design? In both cases, this webinar is for you.
A data warehouse is a central relational database that contains all measurements about a business or an organisation. This data comes from a variety of heterogeneous data sources, which includes databases of any type that back the applications used by the company, data files exported by some applications, or APIs provided by internal or external services.
But designing a data warehouse correctly is a hard task, which requires gathering information about the business processes that need to be analysed in the first place. These processes must be translated into so-called star schemas, which means, denormalised databases where each table represents a dimension or facts.
We will discuss these topics:
- How to gather information about a business;
- Understanding dictionaries and how to identify business entities;
- Dimensions and facts;
- Setting a table granularity;
- Types of facts;
- Types of dimensions;
- Snowflakes and how to avoid them;
- Expanding existing dimensions and facts.

Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
