2. Mise en scene:
The mise en scene has teenagers with money partying
all night indoors and outdoors in the pool. The mise en
scene shows features of postmodernism because this is
the representation of typical American teenagers.
Sound:
The sound which is mainly pop, R&B and Dance, the
lyrics goes with the visuals in the music video and this
also shows the artist new look that she wanted to
create. The music video has Miley Cyrus twerking which
went viral this image can be seen as postmodern
because most woman in music video’s are shown to be
very sexual.
Narrative:
The narrative in the music video is just teenagers that
party the night away and end up sleeping and floating
in the pool after partying the night away we see this at
the end of the music video, there is not much enigma
created of what might happen next.
3. Setting
The settings in this music video are in a house and different rooms of the
house and the pool the shots of the music video go back and forth the shot
her on the bed is a low angle shot and we are partially shown the male gaze
upon women this can be seen also as post modernism.
4. Representation of the main character:
Miley Cyrus first started on Disney and after her show ended she had a
dramatic change which she first showed in this music video. She
changed her look from pop princess to now being very sexual in her
music videos. Her image is now very provocative this can be seen as post
modern because of her image she has created for herself being very
sexual.
