2. The mise en scene in the music video is set
in the 1960’s-70’s we see this through the
representation of a character dressed as a
character in the 1960’s when femme fatal
was more popular we also see the props in
the that show’s the time period the of the
music video. Their is also the editing which
is in black and white which is a convention
in editing to show time.
3. The sound of the music video is the genre indie rock the
music audio fits with the pace of the editing and with the
visuals, the music video hasn’t got much narrative we see the
artist with his band playing in the music video when the music
is playing with no lyrics we see key close up shots of what the
artist is wearing until the lyrics comes in, this is a convention
of post modernism when the music video hasn’t got narrative
and has good editing and visuals with shots, the genre of the
song is indie rock a feature of indie rock is having the actual
band playing in the music video.
4. The editing of the music video was to make it look like it was set in
the 1960’s-70’s, this is shown with the black and white editing
through out the video this is also a stylistic feature of the bands
music video’s as they have the same black and white editing in there
music video ‘R U Mine?’. There is the editing of a tracker this is
used in the music video to jump between settings. The editing also
goes with the build up to the main chorus. The setting in the music
video is a key convention with the style of bands when the artist and
the band themselves play in the music video.
5. The representations of the characters mainly the women are
shown to be very provocative this is a feature of modernism and
post modernism of women in the beginning we a see a women in
the beginning dressed really revealing and she has a portrayal of
femme fatal. We also see the representation of women being
portrayed sexually as in the beginning the women editing is re
winded and it looks like she is undressing then we get a forward
editing of the girl putting her clothes back on.
