She began her career in a band called “hoodstars” and they recorded a song
for WWE but due to the lack of success they had she then left and began
posting her videos and songs on myspace and sending them to record
companies and was then noticed and signed to Dirty money records.
She then appeared on “Yo Gotti’s” music video and then demanded by Jay-Z
to be on another music video and then was given a solo verse in the song
“Bed Rock” and then peaked to success after these releasing her own
albums.

4. Nicki Minaj’s album covers are all shots of her
Album covers either long shots or close ups apart from ‘sucka
free’ which has two other artists in that she has
collaborated with.

5. The initial shot in the superbass video we have a close up of the artist nicki minaj,
she has half pink and half blonde hair with bright yellow eyeshadow on, it then
swaps to an ice sculpture which is melting and then nicki minaj then begins to rap
and in time with the song lyrics we then get a long shot of a pink ferrari then back to
the artist and then a close up of stacks of money and then onto a males body, then
champagne and back to another male. All the items being shown in this video are all
bright pink aiming the video more at girls and having a bright colour against a white
background. It then swaps to another shot of nicki with a male in a suit when she’s
in denim shorts and a white top and then to a mid shot of her singing and then a
mid-shot of her with a male with his top off and then onto another scene where she
is dancing with girls in synchronisation which are all similar looking to her as if there
is lots of her in the shot and then swapping to see the bass from the speakers. Then
into a shot of her in a bright blue and green bikini in a pink pool with lots of men laid
around the pool and one male in the pool with her. It then swaps to the introduction
shot where nicki is now on the motorbike ice sculpture. Then back to the girls
dancing and then it swaps to a long shot of three men and three women in white
but in the dark so the clothes they are wearing are neon. The theme throughout is
very outrageous with all the colours that are used with a usual dark or plain
background and lots of contrasting colours throughout.

6. Poster
Nicki Minaj is already an established artist
and has released many albums. This shows
Nicki Minaj’s two personalities she claims to
have. One is the singing side which is very
serious and determined and the other is her
rapping side which shows her in a more
playful light which is shown by the two
pictures in the image.
Both the pictures are midshots of Nicki
which shows her in outrageous and
revealing clothing which she is known for
and also shows off her bright coloured hair
and her bright lipstick which matches the
text used for ‘Pink’ Friday.

7. Compared to Nicki’s usual exterior the album is very
Digipak basic and plain with simplistic pictures and plain
text which represents the music which is within the
album.
This digipak differs from most in this genre as it shows a
fullshot of the artist rather than a mishot or close up.
The colour scheme is consistant throughtout the
album such as in text and the background but also in
the clothing and her hair colour she has.
