Briody, one of the many dynamic characters in the book Empire Rising, is a hard
working member of the Irish Republican Army, the IRA, with his best friend
Danny Casey. At the beginning of the book, he is a spy for the IRA and had
infiltrated the British army, posing to be a British soldier. When his cover is blown
and many of his coworkers and friends die, he flees to America with Danny Casey
and planned to work as an assassin and a gun runner as he was working on the

Our society uses one of the Puritans traditions as entertainment for others. For
example, the current society has established specials that air on Comedy Central
called Roasts , where a celebrity is ridiculed by other celebrities. The first Comedy
Central roast was aired on August 10th, 2003 and Denis Leary was ridiculed on stage
for the viewing of millions of people. Roasts have been around as far back as 1904
where the Friars Club held annual roasts. Their main motto was We only roast the

The whole place just gives the best feeling that I have never felt before. It was like
a spa place that it is so quiet, yet it feels so magical with candles all over the place
and it is sort of dark were you can feel so relaxed once you lay down in this very
comfy bed that is covered in white silk covers with fluffy pillows that almost feels
like marshmallows. My apartment is filled marvelous paintings by Vincent Van
Gogh and with his famous paintings of Starry Night and Sunflowers and some
motivated quotes on the wall. Having these paintings will sure describe my living
experience in New York. The painting Starry Night shows the meaning of the
alluring skyline at night in the city where it has the bright lights from each of the
windows of the buildings and how the sky is yet very dark but still see the shade
