George Orwell works as the police subdivision of Moulmein, a city in the British
colony of Burma. Because he is, like the rest of the English, a military occupier, he
is hated by much of the village. Although the Burmese never carry out a complete
revolt, they express their displeasure by harassing Europeans at every opportunity.
He works in the management of miserable prisoners gives him a close up view of

My philosophy of education is founded on a belief that all students have a desire to
learn and to feel accepted. Learning takes place when students are able to have their
specific needs meet inside the classroom, to feel accepted in the environment, and
find the learning to be meaningful. I believe that before learning can take place a
proper educational environment must be present inside the classroom. In order to
make any classroom work I believe you need meet three criteria, have a positive
mindset, be open to collaboration, and provide multiple ways students can learn
through exploration.
Having a positive mindset involves staying emphatic to student s needs, using
positive reinforcement, and teaching students how to move forward after difficult
moments. In my classroom I work hard to create a positive rapport with my students
by focusing on the positive moments and achievements in the classroom. By this
action I have given my students a goal to work towards instead of a punishment to
avoid. For example, instead of giving multiple reminders on behavior management, I
focus on finding students who are on track and are motivated to complete the task at
hand. By congratulating them for their choices I give other students a chance to
refocus and start over without creating a negative space. This also allows me to take a
quick moment to reflect on my explanations, and make adjustments if necessary.

This article synthesizes the effects of temperature on the rate of cellular respiration.
The method used employed the use of gas sensors and a respiration chamber to test
how different temperatures influenced the rate of cell respiration in worms. Based on
this experiment, it was noted that temperature indeed does affect the rate of

On Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at eight o clock in the evening in Longmire Recital
Hall, The Florida State University presented the Faculty/Guest Artist Recital
which included David Kalhous and Jihye Chang both pianists, the two collectively
performed 20 pieces during the concert. I have never been to a recital of this sort, I
assumed the venue would be large and there would be people singing and playing
different instruments. The venue was actually small and there was only a piano. I
was surprised that the crowd was so small being that the concert was at Florida
State University, I assumed there would be a great number of people. The
Longmire Recital Hall was small and the seating was arranged like movie theater
seating. The lighting was very low; there was only enough lighting to see the
pianist. Since this was my first time attending a recital of this sort I was confused
as to why the pianist had to bow before each piece, or how long the audience
applauded after each performance. Performers for this event were David Kalhous
and Jihye Chang. David is a brilliant pianist, who is now gaining recognition in
Europe and the United Stated for his elegant musicianship. Jihye Chang is also a
pianist, who serves as an adjunct professor of musictheory at Florida State University.
