French Essay Writing

demands a nuanced understanding of the French language, its intricate grammar rules, and the
cultural nuances that accompany it. One must navigate through the labyrinth of French
vocabulary, sentence structures, and idiomatic expressions to convey thoughts effectively. The
task becomes even more formidable when delving into the historical and literary aspects of
French, requiring a comprehensive knowledge of French literature, art, and philosophy.
Moreover, the essay should reflect an adept command over the French language, incorporating a
sophisticated vocabulary and demonstrating a seamless flow of ideas. Precision and clarity are
paramount, as the subtleties of the language can be easily lost in translation. Attention to detail,
grammatical accuracy, and adherence to academic conventions are essential to produce a high-
quality French essay.
The process involves extensive research to gather relevant information and examples that bolster
the arguments presented. Understanding the cultural context is equally crucial, as it adds depth

literature, and society, weaving these elements into a coherent narrative.
Despite the complexity, the challenge of writing a French essay can also be intellectually
rewarding. It provides an opportunity to delve into the beauty of the French language and
explore its cultural intricacies. However, the writer needs to be prepared to invest time and effort

Comparing Dracula And Vlad Tepes In Bram Stoker s
Dracula
Bram Stoker s Dracula is a commonly referenced novel in modern society, a classic
gothic story. From the count on sesame street to the likeable Cullen family of the
series Twilight, Dracula has become the model for all modern vampire novels. Few
people are aware though that Bram Stoker based Dracula off of a real person. Real
life Draculawas not a vampire, however there are many connections both subtle and
obvious between the horrifying character that Bram Stokercreated and Vlad Tepes,
prince of Wallachia, violent ruler of Transylvania. Specifically, there lies parallels
between Dracula in Bram Stoker s novel and Vlad Tepes in the origin and
connotations of the name Dracul , their affinity for playing games with their victims,
and their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is in this way that the last parallel between the two are drawn. Vlad the impaler
was actually the prince of Wallachia, and was therefore royalty. His treatment by
the people around him would be reflective of his noble title. Alongside of the fact
that people respected him because of his title as prince, brutality brought in the
remaining respect for Vlad. Nobody would dare go against the will of Vlad. He
would punish his own people just as severely as his worst enemies. People were
ultimately terrified of him. Dracula obtained his respect in a similar way, but with
a much less severe approach. Dracula was not of actual royalty like Vlad was,
however he was the head of the castle and thus named Count. He is seen as the head
of the house or in this case castle. His patriarchal hold of the household brought
about it a certain dominance over everybody within the household, including the 3
women who tried to suck Harker s blood. Dracula interrupted the scenario, stormed
in with rage and ordered them back. The women seemed to be slightly afraid of him
which hinted at the dominance he had over them. They obeyed his every command
and made no further moves towards Harker

Family of Woodstock The family of Woodstock was founded because of the
Woodstock Festival that took place in a city 115 miles away. Since 1970, a
program was brought to area residents called FAMILY it is a place where
individuals can go, and they are caring and respectful. With this any type of search
for a solution is creative and never ending. FAMILY s shelters, emergency food

The final shelter is the Washbourne House, and this is for women and their children
involved in domestic violence. There are 17 beds available, and there is also two
supervised transitional living residences for up to six homeless adolescents each, and
when necessary, their children. The Family of Woodstock also provide for the
community childcare programs, case management services to such unconnected
populations as adult and adolescent substance abusers, individuals at the Ulster
County Jail, homeless individuals, and families, victims of domestic violence, and the
public. They also provide non residential services to victims of domestic violence
through advocates at the Ulster County Family and Kingston Domestic Violence
Courts and to men possessing a problem with violence through the Evolve
program, and supervised visits authorized by the Family Court for non custodial
parents. The values, beliefs, and attitudes of the Family of Woodstock have
changed over 40 years. When Woodstock occurred 40 years ago rock and roll was
everything. There are many changes with the youth s trends and how they act.
There are big differences between the morals and values of the young and the old
today. However, they do not create conflict with the delivery of the systems. At the
time when Woodstock was going on drugs and rock and roll were big. The young

Tell A True War Story
In the chapter How to Tell a True War Story a story is told by Mitchell Sanders and
how six guys had a mission they were sent on. The mission was supposed to be
them sitting a week out in a dug out area so they can listen for enemy movements.
When they get up there it had a spooky feeling to it because of the mist just hanging
on the mountain top to the point where you couldn t see past five feet. The guys
stayed up there because they had to and it was their mission. They heard things up
there but it was never clear whether it was their minds doing it to them or the entire
country of Vietnam actually talking to them. But the thing was that all six of them
heard the same noises up there and it was driving them crazy because it never stopped
Tort Negligence Case Study
No, because there are excessively many acts of interfering negligence on the part of
the landlord. According to Tort law, it applies when one party neglect to act sensibly
and hurt happens, despite the fact that the person did not plan to cause hurt; the
gathering is at risk for any wounds or harms endured by another gathering because of
the absurd direct (Melvin,2015). However, this class of tort is called negligence. The
essential contrast between purposeful torts and carelessness is the outlook of the
tortfeasor. At the point when a tortfeasor makes hurt a harmed party by making an
absurd danger of mischief, the law gives the harmed party a cure paying little
respect to the tortfeasor s purpose. The Restatements likewise perceive certain
protections that might be stated in a negligence case. Factors of negligence the law
requires that particular components be demonstrated with a specific end goal to
recuperate in a claim against a tortfeasor for carelessness. The harmed party must
demonstrate five major components by noting certain inquiries regarding the lead
being referred to; Duty to find if tortfeasor owes an obligation of care to the harmed
party? Breach of obligation: Did the tortfeasor neglect to practice sensible care?

Causes Of Thunderstorms
THUNDERSTORMS Mother Natures unhealthiest weather condition!
How Thunderstorms affects the human body
A thunderstorm is only considered a thunderstorm when lightning is present.
These storms can play an important role in physical pain and mental suffering.
Lightning is made from cold air and warm air inside a cloud that meets. The warm
air has water droplets that goes to the top of the cloud and the cold air has ice
crystals goes to the bottom of the cloud. When a storm forms the droplets and crystals
hit each other and it separates the air and the two parts hitting each other makes a
static electrical charge in the cloud and forms a lightning bolt.
Thunder; one following the other. Thunder is air pressure that expands and contracts
quickly in a cloud by lightning. When the air gets heated it makes the sound of
thunder.

Use Of Dramatic Irony In The Cask Of Amontillado
The cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe Edgar Allen Poe was an American
author known for having a mysterious dark side. He mostly used creepy narrator s
to tell his story s to add that eerie and disturbing feeling that makes the hairs on your
neck stand up. Poe s stories were typically tales using Irony. In The Cask of
AmontilladoPoe does not just use simple Irony, but he uses both verbal and
dramatic irony to tell the tale of an evil killer and his gullible victim. The story
begins by letting the reader know that Montresor has been wronged by someone he
knows, a man by the name of Fortunato. Poe s us of irony is recognized
immediately by naming the victim in this story Fortunato, this is Italian for the
fortunate one. As we find out later in the story he is all but fortunate. From the very
beginning Poe shows Montresor s character flaws as being a man of pride and
having an attitude that if he is wronged the person who wronged him will pay in the
most sinister of ways.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that Montresor has the Amontillado. Fortunato cannot resist the desire to taste this

the Amontillado, Fortunato has a horrible cough. All the while smiling in Fortunato s
face and showing concern for his cough, Montresor has a plan. He is verbally telling
Fortunato about the wine and talking about the scenery and he knows Fortunato will

What Is Kane s Relationship In The Notebook
The movie I chose to do was The Notebook. The relationship between Noah and
Ally is the ultimate love story in my opinion. It starts out with them as they as
older; Ally has Alzheimer s and is in the nursing home because of it. Noah also
stays in the nursing home with Ally as well because he wants to be with the love
of his life, he does not want to leave her there alone. The whole movie is Noah
reading Ally their love story that she wrote a journal of and on the front page of
the book she wrote, Read this to me, and I ll come back to you (The notebook).
What she meant by I will come back to you is that she will at times come back and

Aegis And The Shadowhunter
Myths, especially of Greek origin, are still used in many ways today especially in
media such as books. Many authors use parts of Greek myth to enhance their stories,
and many more have likenesses to Greek myths that they do not even realize. One of
these many authors are Cassandra Clare, author of the bestselling Shadowhunter
Chronicles.
Clare s Shadowhunters are more alike to Demigods than they are to the biblical
Nephilim. Nephilim are the offspring of humans and angels, usually described as
giants. But the race Clare describes is more alike to the fourth stage of creation
mentioned by Hesiod in Works and Days. The fourth race was Demigods, offspring
of humans and the Gods, living under the rule of Chronos. They were described as
very heroic and mostly depicted as fighting long wars. The Nephilim ... Show more

In her works, the aegis is a rare ritual dagger tempered in the blood of angels,
mostly used in a ceremony that helps to guard young Shadowhunters against
harmful forces. In Greek myth, the aegis is a powerful shield of protection created
by the Goddess Athena much like the protection offered to infants by the dagger in
the Shadowhunter ceremony. The blade is made of adamas, a heavenly metal that
is warm and has a diamond like appearance. The word (or name) adamas is of
Greek origin, meaning unbreakable and untamable much like a diamond itself. In
Clare s books, she often uses the term ichor to refer to the supernatural blood of
angels and demons. Ichor was chosen because it is also used in Greek mythology
when indicating the blood of the Gods. The Shadowhunter also have runes, granting
them powers and strength above normal humans. The names of many of these marks
are derived from Greek mythology. The rune for memory is called Mnemosyne, a
reference to the Titan Goddess and personification of memory, and the rune for night
vision is called Nyx the name of the Greek entity known as
The Importance Of Human Computer Interaction
The exponential growth of the technological age has ushered in an era of ever
expanding reliance and simplicity, in the way in which we interact with every day
technology, more specifically; general software internet based applications.
Human computer interaction in its purest form, encapsulates the ways in which we
engage with software through input and output.
Understanding the importance and requirements of human computer interaction is a
pivotal goal towards creating a useable system that can adhere to the needs of the end
user.
In summary human computer interaction is the study and collection of data gained
through monitoring how a computer and a user can interact and achieve their

The study of human computer interfacing is immensely important for the furthered
success of the computing industry, bringing life changing effects in new and
expressive ways that can positively impact on those who otherwise may have not
been able to interact with a digital device. Usability:
Computing in its early years was primarily restricted to governmental and educational
platforms that consisted of a less accessible software environment, using hardware
that limited general usability for many years. The first real breakthrough in user
interfacing in terms of widespread use being the migration from Disk Operating
Systems (DOS) to more conventional user experience orientated operating systems
such as Windows and Mac.
Modern software has simplified usability, with a great focus on an easier and more
accessible environment for users to interact with their computers. Rules created for
this modern style of usability can be concatenated with the term Heuristics , these are
known as general design principles, and are vital for consistency, flexibility and
appealing aesthetics within usability design, when used within this context.
Heuristics rule also dictate the responsible and logical design of steps proposed for a

Conflicting Perspectives Essay
What is your understanding of truth after your study of conflicting perspectives and
their representation?
The notion of truth being a defined reasoning and represented as a one sided
argument is unmistakably how most audiences visualize it. The concept cannot be
interpreted in such close mindedness, as to tell the truth is to speak what appears
truthful to you . Conflicting perspectives arise when the visualization of how feasible
or veracious something is differs between individuals. The controversy surrounding

Attempting to purge him self of all blame, supporting his own twisted reality, this
particular poem seems only to deny him that privilege. Taunting and provoking Plath,
Hughes puts himself up on a pedestal of contentment. Throughout The Birthday
Letters Hughes renders Plath s death inexorable, claiming to be a bystander unable
to prevent her attraction to the grave. A minotaur, in Greek mythology is a half man
half bull creature that feeds on the flesh it finds within its labyrinth. Hughes
metaphorically describes Plath s slipping into madness as entering a labyrinth,
implying that she would never get out and that death was looming on her from
around every corner. The poets use of sparse punctuality and enjambment make the
poem fast paced and audibly interesting while Hughes uses sharp wit and sarcasm to
tie Plath s fury to her unconventional personality and not his tardiness. The final
stanza places strong emphasis on use of personal pronoun your mother , your risen
father and your own corpse show an accusatory, forceful tone. The juxtaposition of
Grave of your risen father seems to foreshadow Plath s own unavoidable downfall.
Colours signify shift in moods, feelings and beliefs. White denotes purity, humility
and marriage. Blue conveys trust, tranquillity and harmony. Red represents all things
intense and passionate. It is no surprise then as to why Hughes titled one of his works
after this symbolism.

Epilepsy
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that causes individuals to have frequent seizures.
However, originally epilepsy was not considered a biological or medical issue.
Rather, It was said to be some sort of curse summoned by spirits or wrathful deities.
Famed ancient Greek physician, Hippocrates, was the first individual to document
epilepsy correctly as a biological disorder in 400 B.C. Although Hippocrates
incorrectly believed epilepsy to be a condition caused by the imbalance of certain
bodily fluids, he did correctly conclude that the condition was natural and
neurological. Centuries later English neurologist, John Hughlings Jackson, accurately

Venezuela The Monroe Doctrine was a policy issued in 1832, when Spanish and
Portuguese colonies in Latin American had gained their independence, except for
Cuba and Puerto Rico. The doctrine stated that any future colonization of free
American continents by the European powers was prohibited If Europe were to
colonize any land in the North or South America, the United States would have to

In response to this, President James M. Monroe proposed the Monroe Doctrine of
1823 of trying to politically separate the United States and the western hemisphere
and Europe. The doctrine proposed that Americans were off limits to further
European colonization. The deal offered to the European with this doctrine was that
the United States would not interfere with European affairs along with stopping any
western hemisphere as well if the European powers abstained from any more efforts
to colonize the Americans. If European powers continued to attempt colonizing land,
it would be viewed as acts of aggression and such acts required American s
intervention. Otherwise, the Americans intended to remain neutral to existing
European colonies. The British and United States wanted to have guarantees that no
other European powers would move in, they wanted to keep them out of the new
world because they did not want their trade jeopardized. Over the course of the
nineteenth century, the Monroe Doctrine evolved and found support for United
States society. However, Theodore Roosevelt s way of interpreting it and how he
applied it to situations was restrained. His view on the doctrine was narrowed and

Division Of Labor By Adam Smith
Intro In this chapter, Adam Smith argued about the concept of division of labor
because you have to use resource in the right way that you can get the highest
productivity. Division of labor in manufacture is the way that the firm subdivided
labor into the steps, different labor divide in different step like the example about pin
factory in the book.
In this chapter, Adam Smith introduces the idea of improving production to
increasing the quantity of work by subdivided process of operation. The division of
labour is Smith s idea that can help society to have better performance of working
through individual and to gain more productivity. This brings about how the division

In some particular works, however, this idea might not helpful to some businesses.
The example that Smith gives in this situation is agricultural operation because the
process of preparing the field, plowing and harvesting most likely use same person
and hard to be divided since they are seasonal. Furthermore, Smith also said that the
agriculture cannot be improves by the use of the division of labour. Like the corn, the
price in developed countries is almost the same as undeveloped countries, while the
developed countries have cheaper manufactured goods.
How the division of labour makes improvement
Smith makes a note that while workers improve dexterity, they become expertise in
their individual skills. They have more ability to better work. Increasing quantity of
the production, the division of labour makes the opulence in society among all. For
a given example, Smith telling that the complication of making a simple dress is as
hard as a prince s coat. He finally concludes this idea that there are not only goods

Jewish community and, as this young man would soon find out, they did not view
geological findings through the Big Bang theory, but through the Biblical creation
theory. Due to their disagreements he had traveled to a different country only to fail
to understand his new professor s teachings The United States of America was
founded upon the Christian God but yet teachers are not even allowed to teach about
the Biblical creation theory of how Earth was made. They are forced to only teach
about the big bang theory and evolution. What students are being taught today is only
a scientific theory and can not be proved, so why not at least teach the theory our
nation was founded upon to the students. They are only being taught a single side of
the story with no option to learn any other theory. There are also many parents who
want their children to be exposed to different theories of the Earth s creation. Without
teaching multiple theories, there is no way for children to have an interest sparked in
them to investigate into the many theories that are in existence. Also, it is very
inappropriate in the school setting for the students to
Corporate Ethics Of Samsung
Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility Group Project Corporate
governance and social responsibility are two issues, which are dominating the
agendas of 21st century multinationals. Both of these propositions provide
multinationals with the opportunity to integrate their values into the way they do
business and differentiate themselves from their competitors. This paper aims to
describe and analyse the corporate governance and social responsibility initiatives of
Samsung with a particular focus on Samsung Electronics. Firstly, an introduction to
Samsung and its activities is provided. Then an analysis on how the company deals

It also promises not to enter any collusion (market or bid) and price fixing. It will
also not illegally obtain competitors trade secrets and will not cooperate with
anybody who indulges in illegal activities. Employees will also not be allowed to
utilize Samsung s name in politics and cannot take any personal favours by
leveraging their job positions. Lastly, no bribery will be allowed and thus also
employees are expected to undertake anti corruption and fraud class. The question
however is that if Samsung actually complies to this code of conduct policy as it
mentions. Last year, Samsung was taken to court by three human right groups in
France with regards to labour abuses at supplier factories in China. The suit has
claimed that Samsung has taken part in deceptive trading practices as these abuses go
against the conduct mentioned on its marketing and investor relations material thus
misleading customers and shareholders.

physical fitness performances of elementary aged students with and without ADHD
using The President s Challenge program as the vehicle for testing fitness

ADHD has been linked to motor development defects which are included with

crafted throughout the course of one s life, SEI is a learned skill or cognitive skill.
Thus, one can alter his/her social and emotional intelligence quotient (SEIQ), making
it subject to either improvement or decline. SEI is divided into two separate
categories of Intrapersonal and Interpersonal. The Intrapersonal category relates to
one s capacity to manage his/her own feelings and emotions. The interpersonal side
refers to the discernment of the emotions and feelings of others. Social and Emotional

confused by this when I consider which traits brought that overall score down.
That said, I do agree with my overall quadrant scores and can definitely see these
score as an apt reflection of my personal strengths and weaknesses in these areas.
Within the 26 individual trait scores, I gained a great deal of insight into what areas
I excel in and what areas I should focus on improving. My highest scored traits were
Empathy (15), Situational Awareness (14), Service Orientation (14), and Emotional
Self Awareness (14). Empathy is defined as the ability to sense the feelings and
perspectives of other, whilst taking an active interest in their concerns (Institute for
Social + Emotional Intelligence, 2015). This is an area that I know myself to be
extremely strong in and thus figured on it being one of my highest scoring traits. The
ability to be empathetic towards others comes very naturally to me, so much so that I
have a tendency to overexert and exhaust myself frequently. Wanting to help, support,
and understand others emotionally is an integral part of my personality and I very
rarely experience difficulty in understanding someone on an emotional level.
However, I sometimes go into emotional

affordable, too. The technology not only can, but has been used to modify the

Tzertzinis, 2014). The process is mainly used to edit genes causing inherited
genetic disorders, but has also been used to edit genes to give the offspring more

Certainly, we know that not all natural things are good, but we also know that not
all unnatural things are good either. Is genetic modification as good as something
like medicine, or is a vile abomination to manufacture ourselves? I would argue that
not only is it a good thing, it is necessary to the progression of our species. We
know that our children will be greater than we are, so we should embrace that idea
to the fullest extent. With this technology, we can make future generations bigger,
stronger, healthier, and more intelligent than we could possibly imagine, and they
could do the same with their children. We can remove genetic disorders, create
minds brighter than our own, and drive ourselves forward as a species with this
technology. This is not an opportunity that we can pass up. We are just years away
from this technology becoming a reality, and despite the United States ban on
federal funding for research on the topic, that will not stop progress from being
made. Scientists will simply search for private funding or move to a country that
supports the research. They are only delaying the inevitable. The idea may seem
strange to some, but all new things seem strange at first. Many will disagree with it,
as people do with all new changes, but I assure you that genetic modification will
change the world for the better. With the advancements in
Analysis Of The Movie Chinatown
Chinatown is a drama/thriller starring Jack Nicholson who played the character of
Jake Gittes. The plot of the story develops around Gittes job as a private investigator,
and Gittes researches the background information of the water system for Los
Angeles. Through Gittes investigation, the sudden death of Mr. Mulwray becomes
the main plotline of the story. Ms. Mulwray, the wife hires Jake Gittes to investigate
her husband for infidelity, but through his inspecting, he starts to uncover the truths
within the Los Angeles water system. The characters of the film have a strange
connection with each other, which makes the story rich in depth. This is powerful for
the viewer because the potential of the plotcan be expanded with extraordinary plot
twists and characterdevelopment. Personally, I thought the Roman Polanski
constructed a phenomenal movie, because of the drama aspect. The conflict was
clear thirty minutes into the film, and the direction of the film perfectly kept the
audience glued to the plot of the movie. Chinatown provides effective elements of
drama through intensive detail, and a strong plot; which makes the movie highly
entertaining. Rules of the Game are an important concept to creating a drama, and I
enjoyed many of the subtle details of Chinatown. Polanski directs the film with a
noir setting to make his audience carefully indulge in every aspect of the film. The
setting of 1930 s Los Angeles truly intrigued me as viewer, because the setting felt

Comparing The Piano Lesson, Joe Turner s Come And Gone
Have you ever been punished by your parents for misbehaving in school and not
doing your homework? And as a punishment they used to take away your most
valuable possessions such as toys; cars, videos games, electronics etc. That makes
you feel a little angry and upset at the same since your priced possession has been
taken away. This is similar to stories The Piano Lesson, Joe Turner s Come and
Gone by August Wilson and lastly, Hamlet by William Shakespeare. The Piano
Lesson took place in 1936 Pittsburgh while Joe Turner s Come and Gone took place
the summer of 1911 in Pittsburgh. In both of these stories Wilson uses religious
concepts and ghosts to demonstrate several of the difficulties that African in
American had to deal with even after the slavery. The Piano Lesson is about a
sibling conflict. The two main characters are Berniece, and Boy Willie both of them
have positive believes that are dramatically opposed. Boy Willie wants to sell an
antique, familyinherited piano in order to buy a Mississippi land where his family
had worked as slaves. However, on the other hand, Berniece, who has the piano

The Battle of Hastings
The Battle of Hastings Why Did William Win?
On the 14th of October 1066, Duke William of Normandy defeated King Harold at
the Battle of Hastings. His win could be summed up by the fact that William was a
better leader. Other factors that contributed to William s victory include: William
was better prepared, the English army was severely weakened as Harold had just
fought off an invasion in the North of England, and Harold made a fatal mistake of
prematurely entering the Battle of Hastings.
William was a better leader because although Harold had the upper hand in the battle
and they were losing, William managed to outwit and defeat the English. In the
Bayeux Tapestry there is a scene depicting that in the days preceding the ... Show

Although he was victorious in both of them, his troops were exhausted and did not
have sufficient energy to perform at their best. At the beginning of the battle, he
managed get a good advantage he positioned his troops on top of a hill, making it
difficult for William to get to his army and attack him. However, towards the end of
the battle, William set a trap to draw Harold from his strong position and he fell for
it. Once they were on even ground, Harold s exhausted troops could not counter the
attacks from William s well trained and nourished army.
The biggest mistake Harold made was entering the Battle of Hastings too early.
Harold lost some of his best fighters at the Battle of Stamford Bridge earlier that
day and the rest of his army were tired out from their previous battle. When they
finally arrived in the South, he was overconfident that he could win this battle
because of his recent victories. Because of his misjudgement, he decided to rush
into battle with exhausted and unprepared troops. Towards the end of the battle, he
fell for the trap that William had set, seeing as he was tired and his troops couldn t
wait to finish them off and get a good rest. If he had given his army only a few days
rest and fed them like William had to his troops, his chances of winning the battle
would have been a lot higher.

Human-Grizzly Bear Conflict
The principal cause of all the Human Grizzly Bear conflict is human population
growth. Human population has been increasing exponentially and humans are
essentially invading natural environments in which animals like Grizzly Bears
thrive. Habitat space for Grizzly bears is decreasing and they are competing for
food and space with humans. Habitat destruction by humans leads to urbanization
of natural habitats of animals; thus, leaving Grizzly bears to fend for themselves
with scarce resources (Mace Waller, 1998). Urbanization such as road development
leads to fragmentation and increasing the chances Grizzly bear interaction with a
human, this is because of transport and service corridors, particularly roads, are
currently the prime form of humans to access to Grizzly bear range (MacHutchon
and Proctor, 2015). In addition to road building, the presence of agriculture lands
near Grizzly bear habitat can increase the chances conflicts as well. Due to the
proximity farms, bears see domestic livestock as attractants (Mace Waller, 1998) and

instance, as seen in Yellowstone national park, tourists feeding by Grizzly bears

Evolution Of Asian-American Theatre
Asian American theatre came about in the 1960s and 70s starting with four groups:
East West Players in LA; Asian Theatre Workshop later named Asian American
Company in San Fran; Theatrical Ensemble of Asians later named Northwest Asian
American Theatre in Seattle; and Pan Asian Repertory Theatre in NYC.These
companies provided necessary resources for Asian Americans wanting to pursue any
aspect of theatre for nearly four decades. Towards the end of the 1990s companies and
theatre groups geared toward Asian Americans climbed to about 40. In the beginning
of Asian American theatre, most people involved were of East Asian decent;
however, near the 21st century, Southeast Asians and South Asians would join the

Power And Power Of Women In Lysistrata By Aristophanes
Aristophanes is thought to have been born between 447 and 445 BC in Athens,
during a period in which Athens had cultural and political dominance in Greece. In
Athens during the year 411, the disapproval of the war by wealthy citizens led to the
destruction of the democracy and the creation of an oligarchy. Aristophanes wrote
Lysistrataduring this time of political strife. Lysistrata is a play about a Lysistrata, an
Athenian matron, that asks all the women of Greece to refrain from having sex with
their husbands until the men sign a peace treaty to end the Peloponnesian war. The
women s power and leadership displayed in the play was in direct contrast with the
legitimate role of women in Ancient Greece. Lysistrata shows women of strength,
power, and determination. Although, Aristophanes occasionally presents the women
in a stereotypical manner, his positive portrayals of women overwhelms this,
whereas the men in his play are never shown in a favorable fashion. Regardless of
Aristophanes s intent, I argue that the ancient Greek play, Lysistrata, empowers
women even to this day.
Aristophanes shows the intelligence and power of women in his play Lysistrata. The
women in Ancient Greece had little rights, especially in politics. Women stayed at
home and were kept separate from society. Their primary role was to birth and care
for children. However, in Lysistrata, the women are intervening in politics, and
Lysistrata works as the leader that bands the women of Greece together.
Descriptive Essay On The Day In The House
November air wisped past my ivory skin as I strolled through the neighborhood. I
stepped off of the cracked sidewalk so I could turn on to the next street, but a seven
foot tall metal pole with an octagon challenged me at the sharp corner. The top of
the vibrant red sign had an emerald rectangle attached to it that read S BARWICK
PL in white text with the same colored border. The word STOP that was written in
the middle of the geometric shape was meant for passing cars, felt like it was
meant for me as if I needed to head somewhere rather than home. Thinking about if
I should turn left on to Barwick or turn towards the dead end, my feet moved
without my brain telling them to. In the opposite direction of home, there was a strip
of woods that was protected by a wall of briars.
With every soft step as I approached the leaf filled ditch, my low top Converse
kissed the road s cracks. I felt the satisfying crunch of stale leaves through my black
canvas shoes when I stepped off of the pavement. They flew up with every shuffling
movement I made in attempts to avoid the prickle of thorns. I was hypnotised by
peaceful nature surrounding me. Blissful serenity was soon interrupted by a breeze
that tousled my hair and nipped at the high points of my face. Chilled air climbed
through my jacket to the bottom of my spine. The warmth that had been in the wind
just weeks ago had either evaporated into the sky or crept into the earth. Gentle chills

Raskolnikov As A Good Man Essay

14 October 2015 Guilt Raskolnikov lives an ordinary life as an ordinary man. He
is a good man and has a good heart, but he soon commits a crime that will forever
change his life. Raskolnikov is a good man; I believe he is kind, generous, and
selfless. Now, how are all of these positive traits found in a murderer? I think was
caught in a psychotic moment, his mental state was not all there, and he had a
dream, he made a plan, and he committed this terrible crime. A good example of
Raskolnikov being a kind hearted person, and selfless is when he sees a young girl
at the end of the street, he sees by her a rough looking man staring at her. He starts
to get very worried what this man might do to this young girl. He goes down the
street to get this young girl, and he pays for a taxi to get her home. This was so
generous, and small yet so impactful. Raskolnikov cared about what might happen to
this young girl, and did something about it. This showed how selfless Raskolnikov
is, and what a kind heart he has. I think this shows Raskolnikov s true character.
From here, he makes some terrible decisions, and is engulfed by guilt, but I believe
he is a generous, kindhearted person. In this book, Crime And Punishment,
Raskolnikov goes from being an ordinary man with an ordinary life to a murderer,
tortured by guilt, haunted by the memory of his crime, and him finding himself again
in society after the murders. Raskolnikov soon
Literary Analysis Of Villanelle In One Art By Elizabeth...

The Art of Losing Losing things is a part of life. It happens no matter how big or
small you are. It happens and people accept it and move on, The poem, One Art, by
Elizabeth Bishop is a very famous Villanelle poem that talks about all of that. It is
about how losing things is simple, even if it seems to be a disaster. Villanelle is a
very unique form of poetry that was created during the renaissance. Throughout the
years it has developed into a more complicated form of poetry. Many poets use it to
for rustic or pastoral themes, but bishop uses it for a whole different type of theme.
Villanelle has been around for a long time. During the renaissance, Villanelles were
originally ballad like songs. The theme of the songs were usually about the
countryside. The form of the poem, Villanelle, is known for its complex structure.
Even though Villanelle is a complicated verse form, Bishop does not let that stop her
from keeping a conversational flow. Villanelle is composed of nineteen lines, divided
into six stanzas. The first 5 stanzas contain three lines within them and the last stanza
contains four lines. The rhyme scheme of Villanelle is very straightforward.
According to the article Villanelle; Iambic Pentameter...ish, Everything in the poem
rhymes with either rhyme(A) or rhyme(B). In One Art, rhyme(A) is master, and
rhyme(B) is intent (Shmoop Editorial Team). If we break the form down, there are
two refrains, which are lines
National Junior Honor Society Reflection
One important activity on the list, is being involved in the National Honors Society.
This organization recognizes scholars and well rounded students in middle and high
school. These students better themselves at being active community members and
exhibiting profound leadership skills. I have the opportunity to be a part of this
nationally known organization.
This organization is important, because of my history with the organization, and
also the role that I have had in my school chapter. In the eighth grade, I received my
first letter, inviting me to the National Junior Honor Society. Invitees had to write an
essay on why the membership would be important; eventually a selected number of
honorees would be chosen. I was not selected as a new member for the society.
My first year in high school, I got another letter, inviting me to become a member. I
again, wrote an essay to convince the society that I should be a member. I did not
have the chance, I was denied. Next year, I received another invitation. After being
denied twice, I was discouraged. I was unsure on whether I wanted to try to persuade
the organization that I was indeed an asset. This time I took a different approach. I
wrote from the heart, and decided not to put down what I thought they would want to

bargaining, as its name implies, is achieved when two or more parties come
together to make a decision about something. Specifically, it is achieved when
employers and a group of employees work together to decide important terms and
conditions regarding employment. These terms and conditions include compensation
as well as rights and responsibilities of employees, employers, and unions. They can
also include guidelines for resolving problems such as grievances and disputes

This law is also known as the Wagner Act, named for Senator Robert F. Wagner, the
man who championed it. In a nutshell this law protects employees rights to form
and participate in labor unions. The book, Labor Relations: Striking a Balance
identifies the central provisions of the Act. These provisions include the
establishment of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) which answers
representation questions and settles unfair labor practice claims. The act gives
workers the right to form unions and bargain collectively. It identifies five unfair
labor practices and establishes exclusive representation for unions that have
majority support and grants them rights of collective bargaining over wages,
hours of employment and other conditions of employment (Budd, 2010, pp. 119
121). The law also made it illegal for companies to fire employees for forming or
joining unions and prohibited company managed unions. A news release on the
NLRB website demonstrates a real life example of a potential violation of the
NLRA. The news release describes how well known aircraft manufacturer, the
Boeing Company has decided to establish a second non union production line for its
787 Dreamliner airplanes. This normally wouldn t be an issue but the company s
main production line is in a union facility. Boeing stated that the reason they decided
to use the non union plant was because of previous strikes and the possibility of more
strikes occurring in the future.

with plug and play operation, and clinical research capabilities in advanced signal
recording and processing. Besides these goals, brain stimulation is already so
advanced that scientist mainly shoot for just improving the accuracy of it. Another
type of brain stimulation is Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) uses an electric current
to treat serious mental disorders. This type of therapy is usually considered only if a
patient s illness has not improved after other treatments (such as antidepressant
medication or psychotherapy) are tried, or in cases where rapid response is
needed (as in the case of suicide risk and catatonia, for example). Transcranial
magnetic stimulation (TMS) is a noninvasive procedure that uses magnetic fields to
stimulate nerve cells in the brain to improve symptoms of depression. TMS is
typically used when other depression treatments haven t been working. It works
like this, during a TMS session, an electromagnetic coil is placed against your scalp
near your forehead. The electromagnet painlessly delivers a magnetic pulse that
stimulates nerve cells in the region of your brain involved in mood control and
depression. And it may activate regions of the brain that have decreased activity in
people with depression. This is another form of brain stimulation that helps change
many people s lives. As I mentioned before it is to help people that go through
depression. Brain stimulation is a very useful method, but many don t know that there
is different types. There is agus
4 At-Bat Statistics
When baseball season is upon us, batting averages are a topic of discussion, and
data are actively recorded to maintain the most up to date statistics. Here we
attempt to introduce a few statistical calculations by way of a binomial experiment
utilizing the at bats data garnered from one major league player s 200 consecutive
games spanning across seasons, where we consider only games where the player
had exactly four at bats. Our four at bats experiment is a binomial experiment
because the experiment consists of repeated trails; each trial resulting in just two
possible outcomes; with a constant 0.50 probability of success; and where trials are
independent of each other (Colorado State University Global Campus, 2018). In our
experiment,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In our experiment, x = number of hits, n = number of at bats 4, and p = batting
average .297. The probability of the experiment is calculated in Excel by way of the
BINOM.DIST function, where results are shown in Table 3. When understanding the
number of trials (n) and probability of one successful trial (p), we can calculate the
mean of the binomial distribution E(x) = Вµ = np. In our experiment, n = 4 at bats,
and p = .297 batting average, which results in 1.19 mean number of successes. From
our binomial probability distribution we create a scatter plot to further illustrate our
binomial probability distribution results (Figure 3). As we review our results, we see
similarities in the probabilities of our four at bats frequency distribution and binomial
distribution. This makes sense, because the frequency probability distribution utilizes
actual hit results, and the binomial probability distribution utilizes the batting average
that is garnered from actual hit results which lends to similarity in the means as

Dracula was not of actual royalty like Vlad was, however he was the head of the castle and thus named Count. He is seen as the head of the house or in this case castle. His patriarchal hold of the household brought about it a certain dominance over everybody within the household, including the 3 women who tried to suck Harker s blood. Power And Power Of Women In Lysistrata By Aristophanes Aristophanes is thought to have been born between 447 and 445 BC in Athens, during a period in which Athens had cultural and political dominance in Greece. In Athens during the year 411, the disapproval of the war by wealthy citizens led to the destruction of the democracy and the creation of an oligarchy. Aristophanes wrote Lysistrataduring this time of political strife. Lysistrata is a play about a Lysistrata, an Athenian matron, that asks all the women of Greece to refrain from having sex with their husbands until the men sign a peace treaty to end the Peloponnesian war. The women s power and leadership displayed in the play was in direct contrast with the legitimate role of women in Ancient Greece. Lysistrata shows women of strength, power, and determination. Although, Aristophanes occasionally presents the women in a stereotypical manner, his positive portrayals of women overwhelms this, whereas the men in his play are never shown in a favorable fashion. Regardless of Aristophanes s intent, I argue that the ancient Greek play, Lysistrata, empowers women even to this day. Aristophanes shows the intelligence and power of women in his play Lysistrata. The women in Ancient Greece had little rights, especially in politics. Women stayed at home and were kept separate from society. Their primary role was to birth and care for children. However, in Lysistrata, the women are intervening in politics, and Lysistrata works as the leader that bands the women of Greece together.

Specifically, it is achieved when employers and a group of employees work together to decide important terms and conditions regarding employment. These terms and conditions include compensation as well as rights and responsibilities of employees, employers, and unions. They can also include guidelines for resolving problems such as grievances and disputes (Budd, 2010, p. 13). In a nutshell this law protects employees rights to form and participate in labor unions. The book, Labor Relations: Striking a Balance identifies the central provisions of the Act. These provisions include the establishment of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) which answers representation questions and settles unfair labor practice claims. The act gives workers the right to form unions and bargain collectively. It identifies five unfair labor practices and establishes exclusive representation for unions that have majority support and grants them rights of collective bargaining over wages, hours of employment and other conditions of employment (Budd, 2010, pp. 119 121). The law also made it illegal for companies to fire employees for forming or joining unions and prohibited company managed unions. A news release on the NLRB website demonstrates a real life example of a potential violation of the NLRA. The news release describes how well known aircraft manufacturer, the Boeing Company has decided to establish a second non union production line for its 787 Dreamliner airplanes. This normally wouldn t be an issue but the company s main production line is in a union facility. Boeing stated that the reason they decided to use the non union plant was because of previous strikes and the possibility of more strikes occurring in the future.
