What is Microsoft Outlook 2010?
Microsoft Outlook 2010 is a software for business
and personal email management
It has following features:
• Send and receive emails
• Communicate with one or more recipients
• Many keyboard shortcuts make the task of
emailing faster
Features
Email:
1. Send email message to one or more recipients
2. Cc and Bcc features
3. Cc – Carbon copy to other recipients. All
recipients can see who has received a copy of
the email
4. Bcc – Blind Carbon copy – recipients cant see
who else has a copy of the email
Features
Attachments to an Email:
1. We can attach a document to an email
2. Document can be of different filetypes
3. Filetypes permitted : PDF, JPG, TXT, GIF
4. The size of the attachment cannot be more than
20 MB
5. Certain filetypes may not be supported as
attachments by MS Outlook. E.g., .ZIP files. In
this case, change the filename extension to .PIZ
and attach the file
6. Attachments can be saved to a disk
Features
Add a Signature to an Email:
1. All emails sent can carry the signature of the
sender.
2. These personalized signatures can be an mage,
or text, a logo, or the image of your handwritten
signature.
Notes
Notes are used to jot down reminders, questions,
ideas, and anything else that you want to be
reminded of.
Calendar
MS Outlook has a built-in Calendar.
This can be used to:
1. Create an appointment, or a meeting
Contacts
MS Outlook has a built-in Contacts List.
Contact list can contain following:
1. Name
2. Phone no
3. Email address
4. Address
5. Picture
6. Birthdays, anniversary, etc
Tasks
MS Outlook has a built-in To-do List.
To-do list can be used to remind the user of various
tasks at specific times and on specified dates
Important
Outlook will be phased out in 2020 and Microsoft
may no longer provide support for this product
