Introduction
• Microcontrollers are designed for embedded
applications, in contrast to the microprocessors used
in personal computers or other general purpose
applications.
• microcontroller act as a microcomputer without any
digital part.
microcontrollers
History
 The Smithsonian Institution credits TI engineers Gary Boone and
Michael Cochran with the successful creation of the first
microcontroller in 1971.
 The result of their work was the TMS 1000, which became
commercially available in 1974.
Structure of microcontroller
• Cpu :
All microcontrollers have a Central Processing Unit (or CPU) and this
is responsible for taking the data, processing it and spitting out a
result.
• Memory :
PIC Microcontrollers have three types of memory
1.Programe memory
2.Data memory
3.EEPROM memory

A radar speed gun (also radar gun and speed gun) is a
device used to measure the speed of moving objects. It
used in professional spectator sport, for things such as
the measurement of bowling speeds in cricket,.
Radar Speed Gun
Fig. Radar speed gun
Speed checker :
Most of the cases main reasons of accident on highway is overspeed
and to prevent this types of accidents speed checker sensors.
GPS based Vehicle tracking system :
Car tracking using GPS project will be useful when our car is stolen. Also
if somebody wants to track school bus of their children, at that time it
will be helpful to find out the location of kids.
Coolant Temperature Sensor
• The coolant temperature sensor is used to measure the temperature of the
engine coolant of an internalcombustin engine.
• On some vehicles the sensor may also be used to switch on the electric cooling
fan.
 PD1 Rear Parking Sensor
When reverse gear is engaged the parking sensor system
provides an instant, automatic, self-diagnostic function that
maps out the surrounding area of your bumper constantly
monitoring this as you reverse with 100% accuracy.
PDI Parking Sensor
Fig. PD1 Rear Parking
Sensor
 PD1 Front Parking Sensor
Activate the PD1 Front parking sensor by pressing the included
push-button switch.
It provides an instant, automatic, self-diagnostic function that
maps out the surrounding area of your front bumper
constantly monitoring.

Sensor
LAMBORGHINI Parking Sensor
• PD1 Rear Lamborghini parking sensor
PD1 Rear Lamborghini parking sensor provides your car
with full rear bumper protection when parking and
reversing, alerting you to approaching objects via an
audible speaker.
• PD1 front Lamborghini parking sensor
PD1 Front Lamborghini parking sensor provides your car
with full front bumper protection when parking, alerting
you to approaching objects via an audible speaker.
Alcohol Detection
• “Drunk driving detection
• Alcohol Detector in Car project is designed for the safety
of the people seating inside the car. Alcohol breath
analyzer project should be fitted / installed inside the
vehicle.

Ambulance Tracking System
This project performs three main functions. First one is Patient
health monitoring; second one is tracking the Ambulance which is
carrying the Patient and third one is to send above two details to
the Hospital or Doctor using a GSM technology.

Advantages
 Microcontroller reduce cost and size of the system.
 Usage of microcontroller is simple , easy for troubleshoot and
system maintaining.
 Microcontroller are cheap and very small in size , therefor they can
be embedded on any device.
Disadvantages
 Microcontroller have got more complex architecture
than that of microprocessor.
 Only perform limited number of execution
simultaneously.
 Mostly used in micro-equipment.
 Cannot interface high power devices directly.
Application
 Vehicle Control
 16 bit microcontrollers are mostly used
 Driver Information
 8- Bit microcontrollers are used mostly

Conclusion
 Therefore, the modern days different types of
microcontrollers have marked a revolutionary change
in every aspect of the automobile designing and
manufacturing processes because of their adaptability
and flexibility.
