This document describes an intelligent car safety system using dual security. The system uses several sensors and technologies to detect accidents, theft attempts, and drunk driving. It sends location and alert messages via GPS and GSM. If an accident is detected by the accelerometer, the location is obtained from GPS and sent by SMS. An alcohol sensor prevents engine start if alcohol is detected. An ultrasonic sensor and automatic brake lock prevent theft. The system provides dual security by requiring a start message from the user via GSM in addition to a password to start the car. The system aims to improve safety at a moderate cost by reporting emergencies and theft attempts.
This paper proposes smart monitoring of automobiles using IoT, which has the same functionality of conventional scanner-automobile diagnostic device. It consists of a Raspberry pi, Arduino Uno board, Web page for the service centre and also various sensors. The sensors attached in the car are connected with the Arduino board and the output is given to the raspberry pi and the Ethernet field uploads these readings to the server. If any variation in the readings, the server will send SMS to the users mobile to inform about the particular condition. And also it is possible to check the current status of the vehicle and there is special facility called emergency request that is requested by the user to inform about the accident or sudden breakdown to the service centre. It also has an obstacle sensor to sense any obstacles within a particular distance. Dust sensor fixed inside the car monitors the dust content, which can cause health problems to passengers. If there occurs any such scenarios, an SMS will be sent to the user. The vehicle will not get started if the seat belt is not worn by the driver. Detection of fire or water can result to automatic unlocking of the seat belts.
In highly populated countries, people lose their lives because of accidents and poor emergency facilities every day. These lives could have been saved if medical facilities are provided at the right time. This thesis implies a system which is a solution to this drawback, when a vehicle meets with an accident immediately, accelerometer module detects the signal, and it is sent to the Arduino microcontroller programmed by C programming language. Arduino sends an alert message through the GSM module including the location to the police station or a rescue team. So the police can immediately trace the location through the GPS modem after receiving the information. LCD is used to display location message from GPS module. The system is simulated and practically designed by the use of required hardware components and the results are satisfied with the expectation. Design and Implementation of Alcohol Detector and Accident Detection System u...ijtsrd
Nowadays, the number of vehicles is increasing significantly every year. Many accidents are occurring because of the alcohol consumption of the driver. After drinking alcohol, driving is the most reason for accidents in almost all countries all over the world. Therefore, alcohol detection system and automatic finding car accident place using GSM modem and GPS are presented in this paper. The combination purpose of alcohol detection and car accident detection systems is to save human life. If the car driver drinks alcohol, the alcohol sensor will sense alcohol concentration, will display it on the LCD and will turn off the car engine. In the accident detection system, the vibration sensor senses vibration when an accident occurs. If the sensor senses the car accident, the vibration sensor will give the digital output to the microcontroller. By using the GPS module, the latitude and longitude of the place where the accident happened are sent by message to the assigned phone number through the SIM900 GSM Modem. By implementation of this system, human beings can be protected from harm and other non desirable outcomes on road accidents. Fingerprint Based Smart Pay and Accident Alert SystemIJTET Journal
Over the last few decades, the usage of public transportation is attracted by most of the people. The increase in passenger count has made ticket ending and vehicular monitoring a complex task. In addition to this, frequent accidents occur due to overload of passengers and these accidents are not cognizant to the rescuers. Therefore advancement in technology could be instigated to overcome these issues. This system is an advanced approach to the existing system of ticketing through RFID cards. The fingerprint based smart pay and accident alert is the proposed system wherein ticketing is automated and the travelling cost is debited from the concerned bank or the suggested system where the user holds an account. To avoid illegal entry, the passenger count is monitored with the effective utilization of IR sensor. The ignition of the vehicle is stopped whenever the passenger count exceeds the maximum value. The accident alert system finds its application in the proposed methodology with the support of GPS and GSM. Whenever an accident occurs, the location of the vehicle will be sent as a message with a link provided to the emergency vehicles, control room and a private message will be sent to the trusted contact of each of the passengers. Thereby many fellow lives could be saved. This system would also be an excellent replacement to the traditional ticketing system.

Poly-aniline is one of the most important conducting polymers. The poly-aniline has many applications in the electronic fields such as batteries, sensors, controlling systems and organic displays. It is good environmental stability, easy conductivity control and cheap production in large quantities. In this study poly-aniline samples in nan-structure were irradiated with α- particles with different fluences (1.16 x 108- 1.20 x 109 alphas/ cm2) and constant energy (5.32±0.23 MeV). The damage is almost regular along the path length of alpha particles in poly-aniline samples. The modifications in the morphology and optical properties induced by the radiation were measured. It was found a strong correlation between absorbance and the alpha particle fluences at wavelength 600 nm for the samples after irradiations. Also, the results showed increase the number of carbon atoms per cluster in the poly-aniline samples after irradiations.

Design and Implementation of Encoder for (15, k) Binary BCH Code Using VHDL a...IOSR Journals
Abstract: In this paper we have designed and implemented(15, k) a BCH Encoder on FPGA using VHDL for reliable data transfers in AWGN channel with multiple error correction control. The digital logic implementation of binary encoding of multiple error correcting BCH code (15, k) of length n=15 over GF (24) with irreducible primitive polynomial x4+x+1 is organized into shift register circuits. Using the cyclic codes, the reminder b(x) can be obtained in a linear (15-k) stage shift register with feedback connections corresponding to the coefficients of the generated polynomial. Three encoder are designed using VHDL to encode the single, double and triple error correcting BCH code (15, k) corresponding to the coefficient of generated polynomial. Information bit is transmitted in unchanged form up to k clock cycles and during this period parity bits are calculated in the LFSR then the parity bits are transmitted from k+1 to 15 clock cycles. Total 15-k numbers of parity bits with k information bits are transmitted in 15 code word. Here we have implemented (15, 5, 3), (15, 7, 2) and (15, 11, 1) BCH code encoder on Xilinx Spartan 3 FPGA using VHDL and the simulation & synthesis are done using Xilinx ISE 13.3. BCH encoders are conventionally implemented by linear feedback shift register architecture. Encoders of long BCH codes may suffer from the effect of large fan out, which may reduce the achievable clock speed. The data rate requirement of optical applications require parallel implementations of the BCH encoders. Also a comparative performance based on synthesis & simulation on FPGA is presented. Keywords: BCH, BCH Encoder, FPGA, VHDL, Error Correction, AWGN, LFSR cyclic redundancy checking, fan out .

Abstract: The Zigbee is a low cost communication technology used for low data rate communication system such as industrial automation etc. Because of its low complexity it is widely adopted for many applications. But the utilization of the same spectrum band by the WLAN system causes interference between both the systems. The proposed approach presents an analysis of this interference effect on Zigbee system when operated with WLAN sources at different distances and different power. It also analyzes the effect when a frequency offset is established between both systems. The simulation results shows that a small offset can provide sufficient improvement in the performance. Chebyshev Collocation Approach for a Continuous Formulation of Implicit Hybri...IOSR Journals
In this paper, an implicit one-step method for numerical solution of second order Initial Value
Problems of Ordinary Differential Equations has been developed by collocation and interpolation technique.
The one-step method was developed using Chebyshev polynomial as basis function and, the method was
augmented by the introduction of offstep points in order to bring about zero stability and upgrade the order of
consistency of the new method. An advantage of the derived continuous scheme is that it can produce several
outputs of solution at the off-grid points without requiring additional interpolation. Numerical examples are
presented to portray the applicability and the efficiency of the method.

Vehicle Theft Control and Accident Location Intimation Through SMSIJMTST Journal
Human life is more valuable than anything else, timely help is more important than lending a helping hand. This project is one among those which is designed in a way to save human lives in a timely manner. In modern day vehicles, vehicle anti-theft system is of prime importance and traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of fatalities. An important indicator of survival rates after an accident is the time between the accident and when emergency medical personnel are dispatched to the accident location. By eliminating the time between when an accident occurs and when the first responders are dispatched to the scene decreases mortality rates, we can save lives. There are two main modules discussed in the project. In this project the first module is password based security system to access the vehicle. And the second one is accident location intimation through SMS by using GSM module.

Search and Society: Reimagining Information Access for Radical FuturesBhaskar Mitra
The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Intelligent Car Safety System Using Dual Security
MrsManishaKhorgade
Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering & Research, Hingna, Nagpur
Abstract: As human is progressing various technological changes are being adopted in societies resulting in
rapid industrialization. People are moving towards cities leaving behind countryside resulting in higher
population there by large number of vehicles and hence number of theft and accidents is increasing. This
project revolves around five main parameters. This project helps in detection of accident of the vehicle using
accelerometer. It tracks the location of the place where accident took place. Location parameters such as
longitude and latitude are obtained using GPS and sent via SMS using GSM.. It also deals with alcohol
detection using an alcohol sensor. If the sensor detects an alcohol inside the car, the engine gets locked and the
access is denied. The safety of our vehicle is highly essential in public places. If anyone tries to access the
vehicle without password then the message will be sent to the registered mobiles using GSM. An automatic
break lock system is also included which uses an ultrasonic sensor. When the vehicle theft is detected, the
message is sent to the user and the user has the undue advantage of sending the message stating ‘Stop the car’
to the microcontroller through GSM. The advantage of dual security is that the car cannot be accessed without
the message from the user stating ‘Start the car’. This system is very safe and efficient to report emergency
situations and is of moderate cost.

I. Introduction
Although the various technologies that have been introduced in recent years to deter car thefts and
tracking it, it was reported that as many as cars were stolen yearly in the world. According to the national crime
information centre (NCIC), motor vehicles were stolen. Several security and tracking system were designed to
assist corporations with large number of vehicles and several usage purposes. Day by day scenario in cities is
changing very fast and leveraged to worsen. Various companies and multinationals across the globe are working
towards decreasing the accidents level and providing the advance level security to the vehicle and finding a
better solution for the same. The development of satellite communication technology is easy to identify the
vehicle locations. Vehicle tracking systems have brought this technology to the day-to-day life of the common
person. Today GPS used in cars, ambulances, fleets and police vehicles are common sites on the road of
developed countries. All the existing technology support tracking the vehicle‟s place and status. Taking in action
all these things we are developing a model based on AVR Microcontroller ATMega16, Consisting of GSM,
GPS, MEMS and Ultrasonic sensors for Automatic brake Lock System. This project serves –
• To detect if the driver is drunk.
• To implement Accident intimation system.
• To prevent car thefts using dual security.
• To prevent logo thefts.
• Automatic break lock system.

III. Hardware components and design
a. Microcontroller.
Fig 2:ATMega 16
ATmega16 is an 8-bit high performance microcontroller of Atmel‟s Mega AVR family with low power
consumption. Atmega16 is based on enhanced RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computing, Know more about
(RISC and CISC) architecture with 131 powerful instructions. Most of the instructions execute in one machine
cycle. Atmega16 can work on a maximum frequency of 16MHz. ATmega16 has 16 KB programmable flash
memory, static RAM of 1 KB and EEPROM of 512 Bytes. The endurance cycle of flash memory and EEPROM
is 10,000 and 100,000, respectively. ATmega16 is a 40 pin microcontroller. There are 32 I/O (input/output) lines
which are divided into four 8-bit ports designated as PORTA, PORTB, PORTC and PORTD. ATmega16 has
various in-built peripherals like USART, ADC etc. Each I/O pin has an alternative task related to in-built
peripherals.
b. 7805 Motor driver IC.
Fig 3: Regulator IC LM7805
IC 7805 is a 5V Voltage Regulator that restricts the voltage output to 5V and draws 5V regulated
power supply. It comes with provision to add heatsink. The maximum value for input to the voltage regulator is
35V. If the voltage is near to 7.5V then it does not produce any heat and hence no need for heatsink. If the
voltage input is more, then excess electricity is liberated as heat from 7805. It regulates a steady output of 5V if
the input voltage is in range of 7.2V to 35V. Hence to avoid power loss try to maintain the input to 7.2V.
Involtage fluctuation is fatal, for such situation to ensure constant voltage IC 7805 voltage regulator is used.
c. GSM (Global system for mobile)

A GSM module is a specialized type of modem which accepts a SIM card, and operates over a
subscription to a mobile operator, just like a mobile phone. From the mobile operator perspective, a GSM
modem looks just like a mobile phone. When a GSM modem is connected to a computer, this allows the
computer to use the GSM modem to communicate over the mobile network. While these GSM modems are
most frequently used to provide mobile internet connectivity, many of them can also be used for sending and
receiving SMS and MMS messages.
d. Alcohol sensor
Fig5: Alcohol sensor
This alcohol sensor is suitable for detecting alcohol concentration on your breath, just like your
common breathalyzer. It has a high sensitivity and fast response time. Sensor provides an analog resistive output
based on alcohol concentration. The drive circuit is very simple, all it needs is one resistor. A simple interface
could be a 0-3.3V ADC. Features:
5V DC or AC circuit
Requires heater voltage
Operation Temperature: -10 to 70 degrees C
Heater consumption: less than 750mW
a. Ultrasonic sensor
Fig 6: Ultrasonic sensor
Ultrasonic ranging module HC - SR04 provides 2cm – 400cm non-contact measurement function, the
ranging accuracy can reach to 3mm. The modules includes ultrasonic transmitters, receiver and control circuit.
The basic principle of working is Using IO trigger for at least 10us high level signal, The Module automatically
sends eight 40 kHz and detect whether there is a pulse signal back IF the signal back, through high level , time
of high output IO duration is the time from sending ultrasonic to returning.
Test distance = (high level time×velocity of sound
(340M/S) / 2
b. Accelerometer
Fig 7: ADXL335
4. Intelligent Car Safety System using Dual Security
DOI: 10.9790/1676-1103040106 www.iosrjournals.org 4 | Page
The ADXL335 is a small, thin, low power, complete 3-axis accel-erometer with signal conditioned
voltage outputs. The product measures acceleration with a minimum full-scale range of ±3g. It can measure the
static acceleration of gravity in tilt-sensing applications, as well as dynamic acceleration resulting from motion,
shock, or vibration. The user selects the bandwidth of the accelerometer using the CX, CY, and Cx capacitors at
the XOUT, YOUT, and ZOUT pins. Bandwidths can be selected to suit the application, with a range of 0.5 Hz
to 1600 Hz for the X and Y axes, and a range of 0.5 Hz to 550 Hz for the Z axis. The ADXL335 is available in a
small, low profile, 4 mm × 4 mm × 1.45 mm, 16-lead, plastic lead frame chip scale package (LFCSP_LQ).
IV. Implementation
Fig 8: Flow chart
It is clear from the above block diagram that the ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the obstacle and
send the signal to the microcontroller system for adjusting the speed, depending upon the distance. The
Accelerometer is used to find the accident whereas sound sensor is used to detect the engine sound and keypad
is used to enter the passkey before driving.
The GSM is used to send the alert signal as well receive the signal from the user for stopping the
vehicle and also processing the GPS location of the vehicle to the user. The LCD is used to display the real time
status of the vehicle.
Embedded C is a set of language extensions for the C programming language by the C Standards
Committee to address commonality issues that exist between C extensions for different embedded
systems.During infancy years of microprocessor based system, programs were developed using assemblers and
fused into the EPROMS. There used to be no mechanism to find what the program was doing. LEDs,
switches, etc. were used to check correct execution of the program .Some „very fortunate‟ developer had in
circuit stimulators ( ICEs), but they were too costly and were not quite reliable as well.
PCB‟s are the backbone of any production level electronic device in today market, and therefore knowledge of
PCB layout tools can be a vital skill. Both analog and digital circuits are used in PCBs depending on the
application, and with different types of circuits, the designer must take into account certain design
considerations. This guide will show you how to make a simple PCB layout with digital components, and the
design considerations that come with it. More Advance circuits like RF circuits or Power circuits take more
thought in the layout and design because the circuit is more sensitive to component placement and the lengths of
the connections between them.
It is often believed that without target hardware it is difficult, if not impossible, to develop and test
software for a microcontroller project. This is often not the case as many of the microcontroller manufacturers
(or their partners) offer software simulators that exist for just this purpose. Not only does Atmel's free IDE
(Integrated Development Environment), AVR Studio, provide the framework for compiling programs and
downloading them to the microcontroller, but it also comes with the ability to simulate programs for most of
their AVR microcontrollers.
