To implement a robotic vehicle that can sense metals ahead
on its path .
AIM
Avishkar Research Convention- 2013
 A device that senses the presence of metal .
 For example:- A gate like structure through
which a person passes, used in detecting
concealed weapons such as guns and knives.
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS METAL DETECTOR ?

 Earlier the detection of metals was done manually.
 For ex. bomb detection which could risk human life.
EARLIER SYSTEM

 To save energy and risk of life we go for the use of
robot.

ABOUT PROJECT
 To develop a robotic vehicle that can sense metals ahead
of it on its path .
 The robot is controlled by a remote using RF
technology.
 An 8051 series of microcontroller is used for the desired
operation.

What is RF technology?
 It works by creating electromagnetic waves at a
source and being able to pick up those electromagnetic
waves at a particular destination.
 It can cover frequency extending from nine kilohertz
(9 kHz), to thousands of gigahertz(GHz).
 Many types of wireless devices make use of RF
fields. Cordless and cellular telephone, radio and
television broadcast stations, etc.

WORKING
 The RF transmitter acts as a RF remote control.
 Commands are send to move robot forward,
backward, left and right.
Motor driver are used to control the robot wheels.

ADVANTAGE
 The vehicle runs only on electric DC supply , hence doesn't
require fuel.
 It is sensor controlled and also the program is very user
Friendly.
 It is also used for safety purpose.

FUTURE ENHANCEMENT
 Mounting a wireless camera on the robot.
 Placing a GPS(Global Positioning System) device on
the robot.
 By increasing the coil size and supplying more voltage
We can also use it for finding landmines.

CONCLUSION
 ‘Metal Detector Robotic Vehicle’ is useful for
detecting the metal.

  • 7. ABOUT PROJECT  To develop a robotic vehicle that can sense metals ahead of it on its path .  The robot is controlled by a remote using RF technology.  An 8051 series of microcontroller is used for the desired operation. Avishkar Research Convention- 2013
  • 8. What is RF technology?  It works by creating electromagnetic waves at a source and being able to pick up those electromagnetic waves at a particular destination.  It can cover frequency extending from nine kilohertz (9 kHz), to thousands of gigahertz(GHz).  Many types of wireless devices make use of RF fields.   • 11. WORKING  The RF transmitter acts as a RF remote control.  Commands are send to move robot forward, backward, left and right. Motor driver are used to control the robot wheels. Avishkar Research Convention- 2013
  • 12. ADVANTAGE  The vehicle runs only on electric DC supply , hence doesn't require fuel.  It is sensor controlled and also the program is very user Friendly.  It is also used for safety purpose. Avishkar Research Convention- 2013
  • 13. FUTURE ENHANCEMENT  Mounting a wireless camera on the robot.  Placing a GPS(Global Positioning System) device on the robot.  By increasing the coil size and supplying more voltage We can also use it for finding landmines. Avishkar Research Convention- 2013
