Gerda Weissmann
NOBLE be man, Helpful and good! For that alone Distinguisheth him From all the beings Unto us
known. This stanza from the poem, The Godlike , by Goethe was recited by Gerda Weissmann after
she was saved by Kurt Klein. Gerda repeated this poem in spite of the Germans who put Gerda
through so much. Gerda Weissmann was a courageous Holocaust survivor who faced death in order to
save innocent lives from the hands of the Germans.
Gerda was only a teen when her life was changed. Gerda Weissmann was fifteen when Poland was
taken by the Germans in 1939. Gerda and her parents were moved into their own basement, as an
Aryan family moved into their house. She was separated from her family, never to see them again.

Gerda Weissmann started this three hundred fifty mile trip in the winter. She stayed strong even when
her three friends passed away during the march. Gerda Weissmann looked after these one hundred
twenty young women after they were abandoned in an empty factory, until they were liberated by Kurt
Klein.
Gerda Weissmann is a strong figure, who stayed brave during the Holocaust. Gerda Weissmann has
taught me that you should be strong in the face of danger. She has taught me that even when you are
struggling to keep yourself alive, you still have the ability to stand for others and save them as well.
Even though I have just learned of the great deeds she has done, I am proud to say that Gerda
Weissmann and her story have helped me become a better person. I am astounded by her strong will,
and hope that I will also be brave like Gerda Weissmann.
He and he only The good can reward, The bad can he punish, Can heal and can save This stanza, also
from the poem by Goethe, was recited by Gerda Weissmann. Whatever she may mean when she spoke
this poem, one idea rings true. We have the will and the fight to continue to save innocents from
unworthy treatment, to save others. Whether it be stopping a bully or risking your life for another s,
we can make a difference in someone else s life. This is an important lesson that Gerda Weissmann
has taught

Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Multilevel Inverters...
Abstract Multilevel inverter used in variable speed drive system is attracting more attention, due to
various advantages that they offer when compared to standard 3 phase two level drives. For proper
functioning of such systems pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy is of crucial importance. Control
complexity of multilevel inverters increases rapidly with an increase in number of phases and the
number of levels. The inherent low switching frequency in medium voltage industrial drive presents
various challenges. Multilevel inverter topologies are increasingly being used in medium and high
power applications due to their many advantages such as low power dissipation on power switches,
low harmonic contents and low electromagnetic interference ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The complete system will consist of two sections; a power circuit and a control circuit. The power
section consists of a power rectifier, filter capacitor, and three phase diode clamped multilevel
inverter. The motor is connected to the multilevel inverter. An ac input voltage is fed to a three phase
diode bridge rectifier, in order to produce dc output voltage across a capacitor filter. A capacitor filter,
removes the ripple contents present in the dc output voltage. The pure dc voltage is applied to the
three phase multilevel inverter through capacitor filter. The multilevel inverter has 24 MOSFET
switches that are controlled in order to generate an ac output voltage from the dc input voltage. The
controlled ac output voltage is fed to the induction motor drive. The motor windings are highly
inductive in nature; they hold electric energy in the form of current. This current needs to be dissipated
while switches are off. Diodes are connected across the switches give a path for the current to
dissipate when the switches are off. These diodes are also called freewheeling

Racial Inequalities And Racial Inequality
Since America s beginning, race based barriers have mired the fulfillment of our shared principles and
many of these barriers still persist today. The institutionalized inequalities are detrimental on an
individual basis as well a societal basis. Racism does not only affect the individuals that are being
oppressed but also how society functions as a whole. Racial inequalities have manifested in American
society in ways that underlies a wide range of societal domains such as housing patterns, educational
opportunities, healthcare inequality, and incarceration rates. Current events and experiences
demonstrate moreover that racial inequality is still adamant in the American culture. Long after
slavery, the Jim Crow Era, and the civil rights movement, racial inequality has taken distinctive forms
which affect many people within a racially oppressed group. Racial segregation at large is embedded
within a structural matrix that not only permeates in the American culture but in our private and public
institutions. Disparities in the criminal justice system and housing patterns remain a key barrier to
racial equality in America. In order to eradicate racial inequality, there needs to be policy solutions
that place fundamental changes to a system with profound historical origins, one that structurally
disadvantages minority groups. The criminal justice system s high volume of contact with people of
color is a major cause of broader perceptions of injustice in many communities.

A Report On Shrimptons Creek Parklands
3.2 About the Issue Shrimptons Creek Parklands, located in the City or Ryde in the northern Suburbs
of Sydney, comprises of seven parks that lie adjacent to Shrimptons Creek. The creek is approximately
3.3 kilometres in length, flowing in a north south direction through the suburbs of Denistone East,
Ryde and Macquarie Park. It is part of the Macquarie Park Catchment which flows through Lane Cove
National Park into Lane Cove River. The park s surroundings consists of low to medium density
residential in single dwellings, commercial centres and business institutions. The parklands comprises
of seven parks; Santa Rosa Park, Flinders Park, Tindarra Reserve, Greenwood Park, ELS Hall Park,
Booth Reserve and Wilga Park, in which accumulate to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fauna includes small mammals such as possums, and a variety of land and water birds. The
topography of the parklands are fairly level, with steep grounds only near the embankments. The
facilities in the park include playgrounds, barbecues, toilets, bubblers and car parks, although the
majority are not in the best condition. There are also pedestrian and cycle paths throughout the
parklands. The parklands are fairly accessible when walking to the location, however if one plans to
drive to the park, there are only car parks in the two major parks (Santa Rosa Park ELS Hall Park).
There are several bus routes that pass through the area (518, 507, 286, 288, 290, 292, 297), however,
some of which do not come frequently, and only operating during peak hours or once an hour. Over
the recent years the demand on the parklands have increased, becoming more central to the local
community. As a result, this corridor of parkland needs to be maintained and appreciated as a natural
area with safe recreational access, and the importance of the creek line should be recognised as both
an environmental and recreational area, central to the City of Ryde. The aim of the fieldwork was to
investigate the management and maintenance of Shrimptons Creek Parklands for encouraged use from
the local community. The investigation would focus on the purpose/use of the parklands by the general

Multiple Independent Levels Of Security Architecture
Another security measure is the implementation of the Multiple Independent Levels of Security
Architecture (MILS). The MILS model is best used for high assurance systems as the structure of the
model has stringent access controls and work flows which a regulated by a microprocessor. This
model is simpler than others but offers tighter security. The MILS model is broken down into four
components: A Separation Kernel, Middleware, Applications and a Partitioning Communications
System. This structure is similar to other security models as they can have a security kernel which
regulates drivers and applications. The aspects that separate the MILS model are its security policies
and the way in which they are implemented. (OIS) Unlike the ... Show more content on

The Middleware is responsible for ensuring information sent out is properly defined labeled, filtering
and damaging messages and ensuring the information flow restrictions are followed and remain intact.
This level also contains device drivers, file systems POSIX which are traditionally located in the
kernel of other security models (OIS, 2015). According to Objective Interface Systems, the
Application Layer is responsible for enforcing application layer security policies (2015). These
security polies can include encryption protection firewalls, and/or IDS settings. This layer is located
on top of the middle layer. This layer is unique as the applications security can be evaluated on its own
aside from the security of the entire system (Xining Yameng, 2012). The forth component of the
system is the Partitioning Communication System (PCS). This component works in conjunction with
the Middleware Layer and controls the interaction between the different MILS sections. The PCS
provides end to end protection to the sections on the network not directly connected to the MILS. It
assists with security for the information flow, data isolation. Periods processing and damage limitation
(OIS, 2015).
Advantages of MILS
The MILS model has several advantages. The primary advantage to MILS is rooted in the system s
design. The MILS model was designed for security thus making the architecture

Contemporary management accounting information gathering system:
There are sure advantages, which given by the utilization of Contemporary administration

administration bookkeeping helps an awesome arrangement in enhancing the productivity of the

organization in the long haul (Heagney, 2016, p.96). The quality enhances later on. The idea of action
based costing assumes a huge part in this perspective. This idea takes care of the different needs and
requests of the client and gives openings keeping in mind the end goal to meet them. Likewise, the
idea of key cost administration assumes an adverse part in this impact. It advances the hypothesis of
separation of its items from its rivals to make due in the economic situation.
Two forms of reporting:

Bioterrorism In Susan B. Cooney s Code Orange
Terrorism was the 5th top searched term on Google from 2001 to 2002. Caroline B. Cooney describes
what and how a bioterrorism attack can happen in New York City in her book, Code Orange. A
Student at St. Raphael s private school, Mitty Blake is falling behind in his schoolwork, so he has to
do his biology paper on the smallpox virus. When Mitty Blake finds an old book on variola major or
smallpox, he finds an envelope with 100 year old scabs from the 1904 Boston smallpox
epidemic.Accidentally, Mitty gets the dust of them in his system. After realizing that he could have the
monster of smallpox, he emails main biological research centers and they get forwarded to the FBI,
CDC and maybe a terrorist organization. Susan B. Cooney touches on three main points of terrorism,
the fear of terrorism after 9/11, the FBI s ability to track individuals and bioterrorism. After September
11th, America grouped up together like never before to protect itself with the rumor of other attacks on
the way. Many times Blake thinks about his virus infecting others which always leads him to
remember the September 11th attack on America. Sadly, when something bad happens, one gets put to

page 138, But here s my guess: what a terrorist could do is get hold of Mitty. He gets sick and they re
golden. They launch the first successful bioterrorist attack on America. What Derek is saying is that if
a terrorist got hold of a deadly virus that people aren t vaccinated for, they can launch an epidemic that
could wipe out a country. What makes smallpox perfect for terrorists is that it hasn t been a thing since
the 70 s. This means that people are not currently vaccinated and would never guess that they have it.
Clearly, bioterrorism is almost if not more scary than normal terrorism

Disadvantages Of Fossil Fuels
Ever since the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, fossil fuels have seen a huge rise in
popularity. Used to power the economy and numerous factories, fossil fuels started the leap in
technology that gives us the power we take for granted today. Since the beginning of the oil industry
in the 19th century, petroleum has risen to global everyday usage. Initially kerosene, a product derived
from petroleum, was used for lighting and heating, but with the appearance of oil drilling technology
petroleum became mass produced. Used to generate electricity to power automobiles, ships, planes,
etc. Today the world is almost completely dependant on fossil fuels. World consumption of fossil fuels
has increased from 3.8 billion tons of oil in 1965 to 11.1 billion tons of oil in 2007. Of all the fossil
fuels available, oil has had the most profound effect on society. However, fossil fuels are a finite
resource. Fossil fuels work by converting the heat energy released by combustion into electrical
energy. Once the hard resources are extracted and refined, they are ready for use. When combustion
commences, the hydrocarbons present create energy. The heat used to burn the fossil fuels causes the
molecules of carbon and hydrogen to react, which produces a large amount of energy. When they are
exposed to heat, the hydrocarbon chain converts the heat energy from the fossil fuels to electrical
energy or mechanical energy. Coal power stations use similar features. They burn large

Role Of Tuthmosis III In New Kingdom Egypt And Sargon Of...
Two of the fundamental roles that wealth can play with respect to war are (1) legitimizing military
leadership and social/military hierarchies and (2) motivating leaders to fight either for plunder of for
control of scarce resources. Both of these intertwined roles are evident in the historical records of
Tuthmosis III in New Kingdom Egypt and Sargon of Akkad, and wealth motivated them both in
similar ways. The Annals of Tuthmosis III explain that Tuthmosis directed that records of each
campaign, together with the booty which his majesty had brought from it, and the tribute of every
foreign land be inscribed in a temple to Amun. The public nature of this inscription shows that it was
strategically beneficial to Tuthmosis for the public to see the fruits of his conquest; and the
descriptions of his ornate chariot and armor show that people did not value the loot simply because it
was practically beneficial to them (their king s ornate armor was not), but that they instead placed
some other value on the opulence of their leader. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Annals of Sargon identify dozens of conquests or submissions resulting in loot and tributes, and
the Annals discuss this bounty in far greater detail and with far greater specificity than they discuss
anything else about Sargon s exploits. The annals also make a point of emphasizing the wealth, and by
extension prestige, of those Sargon conquered; saying, for example, that Sargon seized as booty the
gold and silver and the numberless treasures of [Mattallu s] palace and carried away his wife, his sons,
his daughters, his money, his treasure, all precious things from his palace, together with the inhabitants
of his country as spoil. If Sargon s enemies were wealthy and powerful, and he was able to defeat
them, he must be even more powerful and deserving of respect and submission, which was further
evidenced by the leaders who paid tribute to

Music Has A Negative Impact On Society
Music is a widely discussed topic that happens to take shape in many different conversations. One
topic that takes place in many conversations around the world is if music has a negative or positive
affect on society. This type of question is an opinion based that mainly depends on the person and the
situation in which the music is present at that time. Sometimes music can have a positive and negative
affect on society at the same time. Personally, I believe that music has both a positive and negative
affect on society. This can be said for just even one song having both meanings. Throughout this paper
different songs will be analyzed through their lyrics to determine which parts of society would be
affected in a negative and positive by each individual song. Now to go look at some explains of these
impacts through song lyrics and to see if they are negative or positive through my eyes. Music can
impact society in many ways whether it is in positive or negative way such as, emotionally, morally,
or even physically. Emotionally, music can make society feel like they re not alone. It may even make
someone feel as if that song exactly spoke about how that person was feeling at the time they heard it
or when they were going through a certain situation. Songs have a way of connecting to us, us
referring to us as human race, in very emotional ways that we directly connect with especially when
someone is in a vulnerable state. This article states Music has the

The Book Night By Elie Wiesel
The autobiography Night, begins by describing the main character, Elie Wiesel s, life before The
Holocaust. Wiesel is also the author of this account of a true story. The novel begins in 1941 and is set
in the Transylvanian town of Sighet. Wiesel s family consists of his parents, who s names are not
mentioned in the book, and his three sisters, Hilda, Béa, and Tzipora. They are a strict Orthodox
Jewish family and have always followed the traditions and laws associated with being Jewish. His
father is held in high regards with Sighet s Jewish Community. Elie s family believes strongly in the
Talmud, or the Jewish oral law, but, Elie also studies the Cabbala, or Jewish mystical texts, which if
not in secrecy, his father would never approve of. Through this learning, he finds, what he calls, his
master. He believes Moché the Beadle, the poor barefoot of Sighet , as Wiesel refers to him as. Soon
after their secret lessons begin, Moché, along with all other foreign Jews in Sighet, are deported. The
town seems initially upset in the deportation, but soon everything returns to normal. One day, a few
months following Moché s expulsion, he returns to tell all the people of his personal experience. He
describes the concentration camps and horrors he went through before escaping. None of the town s
members believe him and say that all he wants is pity. A couple of years pass and Elie and his family

Essay about Cost of Capital for Marriott
Cost of Capital for Marriott
Mentioned Tables Not Included
Objective:
1) Calculate the divisional and the company cost of capital and explain the calculation. 2) Evaluate
Marriott s use of company cost of capital rate for the individual divisions.
Cost of Capital for Lodging Division can be expressed as CC = We*Ce + Wd*Cd.
For the weights of debt and equity (We and Wd), the 1988 target schedule rates of debt to assets and
debt to equity were used as the only measures available in the case.
Cost of Equity (Ce) was calculated based on the CAPM formula. 30 year T bond was used as a long
term risk free security to get the risk free rate, since Marriott used the cost of long term debt for its

The WA Bu of today s lodging industry is slightly higher than that in 1987, indicating a slight increase
in the business risk associated with the industry.
Cost of Capital for Restaurant Division was calculated in the same manner. The 1 year T bill was used
as a usual shorter term security to obtain the risk free rate. The unleveraged Beta, used to obtain the
leveraged Beta for the CAPM, was once again the weighed average of the unleveraged B s of the
restaurant industry representatives given in the case. However, the restaurants given for the calculation
were mostly fast food chains while Marriott operates rather middle level restaurants. Today s WA Bu
of the middle class and upper class restaurants appeared to be slightly higher indicating that the
overall cost of capital for Marriott s restaurant division should be slightly higher. The cost of capital
for the restaurant division is 14.85%.
Cost of Capital for Contracting Services Division was also calculated through the above methods.
However, the unleveraged Beta could not be calculated in the same way as for the two other divisions
due to the absence of the comparable businesses from which the unleveraged Betas (Bu) could be
obtained. Consequently, the Bu was back factored from the relationship between the divisional Bu s
(or Buc contracting, Bul lodging, and Bur restaunrants ) and the company Bu (or Bum Marriott)
expressed in the following formula:
Bum = Wl*Bul +

Who Is Dr Manette A Round Character
Manette, The Doctor Who Became A Hero Round characters in fiction, unlike static characters and
flat characters, are extremely realistic, behaving and speaking in a real life manner...complex and
increases in complexity throughout the story ( Round character. ). In A Tale Of Two Cities, Dr.
Manette acts as one of the primary, round characters. Due to his unjust time in prison, Dr. Manette
appears to be emotionally unstable, but his personality changes drastically over the course of the story.
Dr. Manette starts off as a broken old man, changes into a better person with the help of his

characters, like Sydney, go through large amounts of change, Dr. Manette holds the title of the
character with the most amount of character development in A Tale Of Two Cities.
In Book The First , Dr. Manette appears to be emotionally unstable due to his time in prison. Before

Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial activation
and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction and cell death
(Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of microglia has been found
in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive astrocytes have been shown to
form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989; Ho et al., 2005). Additionally,
numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated in both patients with AD and
transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009).
Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit for AD remains unclear.
Epidemiological studies show a possible association between suppression of inflammation and
reduced risk for AD (in t Veld et al., 2001; Vlad et al., 2008). Therefore, drugs targeting
neuroinflammation might provide benefits for the prevention and treatment of this devastating disease.
In the central nervous system, microglia and astrocytes are the major type of glial cells, and activation
of these cells has been involved in all neurodegenerative diseases (Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002).

The World Of The Planet Essay
Gondarks
The Gondark are a cruel and hostile race of insect like creatures that dedicate most of their time and
energy to becoming the greatest of every race in the galaxy. These creatures are extremely intelligent
and technologically advanced. The home of the Gondark is a planet by the name of Amerath. It is the
only planet in the galaxy with a blood moon rotating around its gravitational fields. The planet is
covered in dark garnet red sand and is very desolate with little to no light. The lack of light on the
planet contributes to the Gondarkians physical features, as well as their devotion to knowledge. They
also have very uncommon cultural customs with unique mating rituals. When it comes down to their
political beliefs they are very strict and believe in the respect of the high counsel. The high council is
made up of a group of the most intelligent and physically fit members of the race. The entire planet
follows their orders and rules with no questions asked. No member or visitor is to go against the
council. From the biology to cultural aspects all the way down to the political perspective the
Gondarks prove their supremacy. When it comes down to their biology it can best be summarized as
very unusual, at least by human standards.
The Gondarkians physical form has unique characteristics that vary from male to female. Both male
and female Gondarkians have insect like body types. Both

Rudyard Kipling Influences
Although there were many major influential authors in the Victorian Era Rudyard Kipling was among
the most influential of his time. Kipling was born on December 30, 1865 in Mumbai, India then died
in America on January 18, 1936 shortly after his seventieth Birthday. Kipling wrote many famous
poems and novels winning many awards and prizes. Kipling was even nominated for the Noble Prize
three times and then finally won in 1907. Since Kipling was writing during the Victorian Era, you
would think most of his works would contain themes of peace and prosperity, but this was not the
case; Kipling was known for many works that had an ethnocentric outlook. Some of his most famous
works are still read and used in historical education today. The Jungle Book is read by kids
everywhere and The White Man s Burden one of Kipling s most controversial works are still studied
today. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Poe s Perception Of Himself In The Tell Tale Heart
In a work of literature the perception, or opinion on something, will vary from the reader to the
narrator. The play The Tell Tale Heart , by Edgar Allen Poe, the narrator kills a man because of his
vulture like eye. The narrator views himself as a sane and smart individual because of his actions. The
narrator s perception of himself differs quite a lot from those of the reader as they interpret his actions
differently, leading them to think he is mentally deranged. Poe s writing style contributes to these
perceptions of the narrator. The speaker of the text thinks of himself as a sane and smart individual.
How, then, am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily how calmly I can tell you the whole story
(Poe 1). This example supports the speaker s view of himself as it shows he does not think he s mad.
He believes a mad person could not describe or tell the story of what he did healthily and calmly , but
because he can he must be sane. But you should have seen me. You should have seen how wisely I
proceeded with what caution with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Poe uses repetition to emphasize some things the speaker did. I moved it slowly very, very slowly, so
that I might not disturb the old man s sleep (Poe 1). This supports the speaker s view of himself
because he was wise and cautious prior to murdering the old man. In favor of the readers perception of
the speaker, Poe writes it as if the speaker was telling the story directly to the readers. This contributes
to the thought that the narrator is mentally deranged because because Poe s tone and choice of words
make the speaker sound as if he was not affected, until the end, by the event. I smiled, for what had I
to fear? I bade the gentlemen welcome... I bade them search search well (Poe 3). The speaker appears
calm because he felt he had nothing to hide despite the fact he had just recently committed

The Lady Tasting Tea
The Lady Tasting Tea The Book Memo
The different tastes between pouring milk into tea or tea in milk raised R.A. Fisher s interest to design
an experiment for testing the lady. Dr. David Salsburg used this famous anecdote as the book title, and
elaborated the development of modern statistics by several stories. Each chapter contains one
outstanding statistician and his/her contributions. Impressively, the whole book was linked by R.A.
Fisher, K. Pearson, E. Pearson and J. Neyman, these exclusively distinguished statistician, which
indicates their fame and masterpiece has great impact on not only statistics but also academia of
science, even our daily life.
Probability defined by Aristotle, improbable things will happen . Later on, the probability and its
theory have been established by many mathematician s efforts. However, it is until 1820, the first
probability distribution, error distribution, was described by Laplace, which is much closer to modern
statistics. Karl Pearson described that any type of scientific scatter data might meet this distribution,
and he named it as skew distribution . Further, he established the description with four parameters that
are mean, standard deviation, symmetry and kurtosis . Pearson believed that if the sample size is large
enough, the estimations of these four parameters would delineate their true values. Nevertheless, it is
almost impossible for us to know the true values because we would never know the all data from the

In Belize Cultural Relativism, Is a term used to describe when one culture compares their beliefs,
moral views or norms with another culture; which makes right and wrong different in every society.
Here in Belize this those exist because we experience it in our everyday life. The theory of Cultural
Relativism has different principles that govern how it is applied in society. The first being, Different
societies have different moral codes, secondly, There is no objective standard that can be used to judge
one society s code better than another, thirdly, The moral code of our society has no special status; it is

The moral code of a society determines what is right within that society; that is, if the moral code of a
society says that a certain action is right, then that action is right, at least within that society , meaning
if a certain belief in a culture is being practice, in that one s society the practice is right, For Example
in the Garifuna Belizeans, they uphold their traditional beliefs and practices such as the dugu ritual,
through which they honored their ancestors and carry on their distinctive cultural identity. In this case
they are one culture who believe in their practices.
Lastly, It is mere arrogance for us to try to judge the conduct of other peoples. We should adopt an
attitude of tolerance toward the practices of other cultures , In other words we should be able to
respect the moral views of other cultures. Cultural relativism relies on the principle that moral codes
vary from culture to culture. For example, mingling with other types of cultures who practices

The Intervention Offers A Range Of Enjoyable Activities At...
CS intervention offers a range of enjoyable activities to people with dementia which focus on general
stimulation, concentration and memory usually runs in a social setting (Woods, Aguirre, Spector,
Orrell, 2012). CS was developed based on Reality Orientation (RO). RO was developed in the late
1950s to help inpatient older people with confusion in improving their mental stimulation and QoL
(Taulbee Folsom, 1966). RO adopts the techniques of presentation and repetition of orientation
information, in order to provide the person with greater understanding of their surroundings. For
example using various visual aids, a facilitator repeatedly presents basic orientation and environmental
information include the person name, where they are, the times of the day and year or the weather. RO
can operate as a continuous 24 hour classroom or in groups on a regular basis to provide orientation
related activities to participants (Brook, Degun, Mather, 1975). The purpose of these orientation
related activities is to establish a group environment (Citrin Dixon, 1977) and improve patient sense of
control and self esteem (Spector, Orrell, Davies, Woods, 2001). In one of the earliest studies (Woods,
1979) found that classroom RO led to improvement in cognitive function. Later (Spector et al., 2001)
conducted a pilot study to test the feasibility of RO and developed a program of CS therapy based on a
systematic evaluation of the literature of RO which identified its key components

Personality Of The Joker
a. Andrea Chew Man Ee
Actor s name: The Joker
The Joker has a personality of persistent, fearless, high intelligence, and aggression.
The Joker holds a strength of being persistent in the things he does. He makes sure that his plans will
turn out as how he planned it to be. Even though there were complication in between, he makes sure
he finds alternatives to get his job done. Take for an example, when the top mob members of the
Gotham city were having a meeting discussing about the illegal money stash has been tracked down
by the police officers. Joker shows up and proposed a plan to help the mobsters to find a better way to
deal with their business in the future which includes in killing Batman and by taking half cut of the
money as reward. Because Gambol thinks that the plan was ridiculous, they declined it and threatened
to kill The Joker. This however did not stop him. He took the alternative in pretending to be killed by
other gang members just so he could get closer to Gambol, to show that he has power to order people
to do things for him ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This personality can help him to find the ways to complete whatever he thinks that it is important. For
instance, Batman is catching the criminals continuously as this is what he wanted to do when he
started to be Batman. Batman is a rule oriented person. This can be good because Batman would not
easy to be seduced by any person with any offer as he barely break his own rules. Hence, Batman is
considered as a thoughtful person as he would think about any possible consequences before he takes
any action. And yet, this may become his weakness. It is because he would be inflexible in his life
whenever he is facing problems and situations. For example, a few people died because of Batman
indirectly. It is because he could not fulfill the Joker s request which he has to show his real face to the
public. He suffered and almost surrender to the

Introduction
Attention Deficit Disorder comes under many names and manifests itself in many different ways. The
basic definition of ADD includes a difficulty in concentrating and staying on a task with or without
symptoms of hyperactivity. There are many different symptoms included in this definition, all listed in
DSM IV. In this paper I will not differentiate between subtypes of ADD as the predominantly
inattentive type, the predominately hyperactive impulsive type and the combined type.
The difficulties caused by ADD are numerous and manifest themselves especially in the educational
setting. This is not to say that there are not difficulties in other areas of the human existence as
personal relations, work etc. But the educational ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The various activity levels of the brain are defined as brain waves and divided into four basic groups
according to wavelength. Delta waves range between 0 4 Hz, Theta waves range between 4 8 Hz,
Alpha waves range between 8 13 Hz and Beta waves are greater than 13 Hz. Alpha waves are typical
of states of quiet rest, none particular activity and sometimes when the eyes are closed. Beta waves are
typical of states of alertness, attentiveness or active thinking. Beta waves appear also in the REM
sleep stage along with Theta waves while the other sleep stages are characterized by Theta and Delta
brain activity .
Many researchers noted a discrepancy between the EEG of subjects with learning disabilities or ADD
and normal subjects. Typically, the ADD subjects were characterized by brain activity on the slower
end of the frequency spectrum quot; The most important characteristic is either an excessive amount of
theta activity, a lack of beta activity or a combination of these quot; (Lubar, 1985.
The existence of such differences suggests the usage of EEG recording as a good diagnostic tool in the
assessment of ADD and Learning Disabilities. Lubar does not differentiate between LD and ADD
subjects but as the focus of this paper is on treatment of ADD I will limit my dicusssion to the results
of ADD subject without imlying anything about effects on LD subjects. On that note, some work was
also done in the last decades on using brain activity

Social Norms In Deviance
For this assignment, I was given the simple task of violating one societal norm, or in layman terms
committing deviance. Deviance is defined as The violation of norms that society agrees upon. The
activity that I will be showcasing is cross dressing. Although not completely against current societal
norms, due to the progression of gender roles. Cross dressing is still an outlier and far from the usual
appropriate dress for my gender . I will be going over the operations I noticed when; buying makeup,
being in cross dress, and how other reacted to me.
The main reason why I was cross dressing was for a cosplay for Fan Expo convention. A place where
one would really bat an eye if someone was walking around in a bunny costume let alone if someone
was cross dressing so I won t be explaining much about my experiences there, what I will be doing is
talking about other related topics such as ; Cross dressing in a public area away on my way to the
convention, Buying makeup, wigs and other beauty products as a male, the act of touching up makeup
in the washroom and the how other people reacted to it.
Mostly for this, I broke usual gendered norms; in the store, when buying makeup and talking to store
associates about the best types and tones for my skin, as well as touching up makeup inside the male
washroom, normal social encounters with others when talking and interacting, and how others reacted

In the upcoming training session with other IT staff, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) wants to
have a summary of normalizing databases included. The summary will include the steps needed to
convert a database into First Normal Form, Second Normal Form, and Third Normal Form. An
example will be used to show the reasons for converting the college database into these forms.
Another example will include a time when denormalize of a table is acceptable in a database. The
business rules of the college will impact the database normalization and a decision to denormalize the
tables.
When databases are created, data are stored in the fields of a database, some databases are simple and
may contain one table. As the database grows there and get more complex, the tables will need to be
normalized. According to Coronel, Morris, and Rob (2013), normalization is a process for evaluating
and correcting table structures to minimize data redundancies, thereby reducing the likelihood of data
anomalies, (p.181). There are different forms the database table can be converted to, which for the
training session will be limited to three, the First Normal Form (1NF), Second Normal Form (2NF),
and Third Normal Form (3NF). The 1NF is a table format which has no repeating groups and the
primary key (PK) has been identified, the 3NF includes the 1NF with no partial dependencies, and the
3NF includes 2NF and no transitive dependencies. To convert a table to 1NF, need to look at the table

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Excicessing
Pharmaceutical Excipients Coprocessing
Nowadays, there is an increasing demand on multifunctional excipients that replaces the need and use
of multiple excipients. There are two ways that can fulfill this requirement, first, the development of
new excipients with new chemical entity that has good properties including stability, flowability,
compressibility, etc... and is compatible with other excipients in the formulation and with the Active
Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API). The second way is to make new grades of exisiting excipient, or to
modify it in a way that meets the needs of development. Excipient modifications can be categorized
into chemical and physical modifications. The chemical modification deals with chemical reaction that

Table 1 shows the general advantages and disadvantages of coprocessing. As shown in the table, if an
excipient has certain limitation such as poor flowability and compressibility, coprocessing could be
the solution to overcome this problem. On the other hand, coprocessed excipients ratio is fixed and
can t be changed. Sometimes this ratio may be incompatible with the API or with the dose [2].
In general, coprocessing is carried out for one plastic and one brittle deforming excipient in order to
minimize the elastic energy stored during compression and to decrease capping or lamination of the
tablet, in addition, this combination is reflected positively on the compressibility of the powder.
Coprocessed excipient use in direct compression tablet manufacturing process combines the
advantages of wet granulation with the fast processing of direct compression[6]. As mentioned above,
the ratio of initial excipients included in the coprocessed excipient is fixed, the particles of the
excipient with the lower percentage can be processed on the surface or in the core of the other
excipient. Excipients must be homogenized and then coprocessed

The sublime landscape of the American West allows Western films to explore man as he exists in a
state of nature; that being a life in which the individual is wholly responsible for their own survival
whose actions are judged solely by their own standards of morality. Reoccurring themes such as self
determination and duty signify an underlying ideology existing within the American Psyche that
yearns for an existence in which the monotony of corporate offices and TV sitcoms are replaced by a
rifle and a quiet homestead. Considering the contextual history during which Stagecoach appears,
America was facing a crippling economic depression after aiding the Allies in the Great War. The
Nation was experiencing rapid growth, as the land which through manifest destiny was promised as an

Effects Of Alcohol Advertising On Adolescents
Alcohol advertising is abundant globally. It is vital that adolescents are to be raised in a positive and
healthy setting. Particular consumer segments are considered to be more subtle towards the negative
impact of advertising (Morgan, Schuler and Stoltman, 1995). Due to the new social networking
technologies exist today and the various way of advertising, it is not surprising that adolescents are
exposed to alcohol advertising as direct promotions are easy and voluminous. A large number of
research have been performed regarding the effect of alcohol advertising and marketing on the
drinking of adolescents is highly debated globally (Smith and Foxcroft, 2009). Regardless of most
statistics indicating that alcohol advertising relates to the higher consumption of alcohol, early
commencement of drinking and the positive eagerness among adolescents, advertisements with youth
friendly attributes as well as new alcohol products are remitting by alcohol companies. This paper
analyses the research methodologies used in selected previous literatures to conduct their research
regarding the effect of alcohol advertising on adolescents. Accordingly, the limitations for the
methodologies used in the selected articles are discussed. Consequently, this paper further suggests a

Mollick and Nanda (2015) discovered that people in general are more likely than professionals to fund

People in general and professionals are influenced to fund entrepreneurial projects in different ways.
Our second finding is that despite the broad congruence in evaluation, we see a systematic pattern in
terms of the disagreement. Of the projects where there is no agreement, the crowd is much more likely
to have funded a project that the judge did not like than the reverse. Approximately 75% of the
projects where there is a disagreement are ones where the crowd funded a project but the expert would

Belgium is accredited for the creation of the theatrical style, unrealistic theatre; although unrealistic
theatre is a blanket term incorporating Absurdist Theatre, Expressionism, Theatre of Cruelty and more.
Non realistic Theatre isn t restricted to traditionally recreating life on stage, but it investigates evasive
ideologies, intangible emotions and human existence; simply transforming reality. Addiction was an
unrealistic piece of drama exploring the drug world, side effects and consequences of drug intake.
Through the effective manipulation of masks, abstract props, generalised characters, social

This piece of drama conveyed the dramatic meaning (moral), The effect is of a background of
magnificence cheapened by commercialism. (O Neil, 1922). Generalised, masked wealthy characters
contributed to the dramatic meaning and symbolically emphasised their unawareness and carelessness
for the disadvantaged. Techniques which were present in this activity were manipulated, personalised
and incorporated into Addiction. In Addiction, Scene 8, masks were utilised to strip Darcy s family of
their identities and transform them into his memories. By masking his family members it allowed for
most of the focus to be on Darcy and during the final stages of the scene all three memories were
frozen creating a frozen tableau conveying the strong emotion of disappointment, thus establishing the
disappointing mood of the scene and engaging the audience.
Tension drives a situation which is directed by the focus; tension can be created through including
roles, characters surprise and mystery. Tension can be enhanced through the incorporation of
unrealistic conventions, thus engaging the audience. In Addiction tension was created during and after
conflict. These conflicts are caused by various characters which then is incentive for the plot. The
tension of relationships between the Angel and Devil was evident when Angel and Devil s

Consumer Law Essay
Discuss the extent to which Consumer law achieves its objectives.
The most efficient way for consumers to get what they want is through the market , not the
government, but businesses have more power than their customers. Some businesses can and will use
abuse this power and cheat and steal from consumers to make money. Because of this, the government
regulates the behaviour of businesses to have a market economy that functions properly. These laws
mainly protect consumers against; misleading/deceptive representations, unconscionable conduct,
unfair contracts, and unsafe goods and/or services. To protect consumers, different legal and non legal
approaches have been taken.
Statutory protections by the government, like the Australian ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Coles claims and advertises that its bread is baked today, sold today and freshly baked in store . It was
found that the bread was not, in fact, baked in Australia, but partially baked months earlier in overseas
factories. Coles accepted a guilty verdict and claimed that new packaging was already being produced.
Coles could face fines of up to $1.1 million per breach. This demonstrates how effective the ACCC is
in enforcing the ACL but penalties may not be harsher enough. For a large business, like Coles, $1.1
million is not that much of a penalty compared to the profits it makes.
Non statutory protections to help the ACL in achieving its objectives can be just as effective as
statutory protections. One protection is the media. The media is a very powerful tool and can wreak
havoc on the profitability of a business. To stay out of the harsh spotlight that is the media, businesses
tend to straighten out really quickly if found to be in breach of a section of the ACL. This helps to
protect consumers to the degree that it makes businesses comply with the law quickly but it doesn t
stop them from doing it to stat with until they get caught.
Another non statutory measure in protecting consumers is through External Dispute Resolution
Schemes (EDR). An example of an EDR is the Financial Ombudsmen Service (FOS) which helps to
protect consumers in matters regarding credit loans. The FOS is a cheaper, faster way of reaching a
solution to

  • 2. Gerda Weissmann NOBLE be man, Helpful and good! For that alone Distinguisheth him From all the beings Unto us known. This stanza from the poem, The Godlike , by Goethe was recited by Gerda Weissmann after she was saved by Kurt Klein. Gerda repeated this poem in spite of the Germans who put Gerda through so much. Gerda Weissmann was a courageous Holocaust survivor who faced death in order to save innocent lives from the hands of the Germans. Gerda was only a teen when her life was changed. Gerda Weissmann was fifteen when Poland was taken by the Germans in 1939. Gerda and her parents were moved into their own basement, as an Aryan family moved into their house. She was separated from her family, never to see them again. Gerda Weissmann saved many lives ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Gerda Weissmann started this three hundred fifty mile trip in the winter. She stayed strong even when her three friends passed away during the march. Gerda Weissmann looked after these one hundred twenty young women after they were abandoned in an empty factory, until they were liberated by Kurt Klein. Gerda Weissmann is a strong figure, who stayed brave during the Holocaust. Gerda Weissmann has taught me that you should be strong in the face of danger. She has taught me that even when you are struggling to keep yourself alive, you still have the ability to stand for others and save them as well. Even though I have just learned of the great deeds she has done, I am proud to say that Gerda Weissmann and her story have helped me become a better person. I am astounded by her strong will, and hope that I will also be brave like Gerda Weissmann. He and he only The good can reward, The bad can he punish, Can heal and can save This stanza, also from the poem by Goethe, was recited by Gerda Weissmann. Whatever she may mean when she spoke this poem, one idea rings true. We have the will and the fight to continue to save innocents from unworthy treatment, to save others. Whether it be stopping a bully or risking your life for another s, we can make a difference in someone else s life. This is an important lesson that Gerda Weissmann has taught ... • 3. Disadvantages And Disadvantages Of Multilevel Inverters... Abstract Multilevel inverter used in variable speed drive system is attracting more attention, due to various advantages that they offer when compared to standard 3 phase two level drives. For proper functioning of such systems pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy is of crucial importance. Control complexity of multilevel inverters increases rapidly with an increase in number of phases and the number of levels. The inherent low switching frequency in medium voltage industrial drive presents various challenges. Multilevel inverter topologies are increasingly being used in medium and high power applications due to their many advantages such as low power dissipation on power switches, low harmonic contents and low electromagnetic interference ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The complete system will consist of two sections; a power circuit and a control circuit. The power section consists of a power rectifier, filter capacitor, and three phase diode clamped multilevel inverter. The motor is connected to the multilevel inverter. An ac input voltage is fed to a three phase diode bridge rectifier, in order to produce dc output voltage across a capacitor filter. A capacitor filter, removes the ripple contents present in the dc output voltage. The pure dc voltage is applied to the three phase multilevel inverter through capacitor filter. The multilevel inverter has 24 MOSFET switches that are controlled in order to generate an ac output voltage from the dc input voltage. The controlled ac output voltage is fed to the induction motor drive. The motor windings are highly inductive in nature; they hold electric energy in the form of current. This current needs to be dissipated while switches are off. Diodes are connected across the switches give a path for the current to dissipate when the switches are off. These diodes are also called freewheeling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Racial Inequalities And Racial Inequality Since America s beginning, race based barriers have mired the fulfillment of our shared principles and many of these barriers still persist today. The institutionalized inequalities are detrimental on an individual basis as well a societal basis. Racism does not only affect the individuals that are being oppressed but also how society functions as a whole. Racial inequalities have manifested in American society in ways that underlies a wide range of societal domains such as housing patterns, educational opportunities, healthcare inequality, and incarceration rates. Current events and experiences demonstrate moreover that racial inequality is still adamant in the American culture. Long after slavery, the Jim Crow Era, and the civil rights movement, racial inequality has taken distinctive forms which affect many people within a racially oppressed group. Racial segregation at large is embedded within a structural matrix that not only permeates in the American culture but in our private and public institutions. Disparities in the criminal justice system and housing patterns remain a key barrier to racial equality in America. In order to eradicate racial inequality, there needs to be policy solutions that place fundamental changes to a system with profound historical origins, one that structurally disadvantages minority groups. The criminal justice system s high volume of contact with people of color is a major cause of broader perceptions of injustice in many communities. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Objective Interface Systems, the Application Layer is responsible for enforcing application layer security policies (2015). This layer is unique as the applications security can be evaluated on its own aside from the security of the entire system (Xining Yameng, 2012). The forth component of the system is the Partitioning Communication System (PCS). This component works in conjunction with the Middleware Layer and controls the interaction between the different MILS sections. The PCS provides end to end protection to the sections on the network not directly connected to the MILS. It assists with security for the information flow, data isolation. Used to power the economy and numerous factories, fossil fuels started the leap in technology that gives us the power we take for granted today. Since the beginning of the oil industry in the 19th century, petroleum has risen to global everyday usage. Initially kerosene, a product derived from petroleum, was used for lighting and heating, but with the appearance of oil drilling technology petroleum became mass produced. Used to generate electricity to power automobiles, ships, planes, etc. Today the world is almost completely dependant on fossil fuels. World consumption of fossil fuels has increased from 3.8 billion tons of oil in 1965 to 11.1 billion tons of oil in 2007. Of all the fossil fuels available, oil has had the most profound effect on society. However, fossil fuels are a finite resource. Fossil fuels work by converting the heat energy released by combustion into electrical energy. Once the hard resources are extracted and refined, they are ready for use. When combustion commences, the hydrocarbons present create energy. The heat used to burn the fossil fuels causes the molecules of carbon and hydrogen to react, which produces a large amount of energy. When they are exposed to heat, the hydrocarbon chain converts the heat energy from the fossil fuels to electrical energy or mechanical energy. Coal power stations use similar features. Two of the fundamental roles that wealth can play with respect to war are (1) legitimizing military leadership and social/military hierarchies and (2) motivating leaders to fight either for plunder of for control of scarce resources. Both of these intertwined roles are evident in the historical records of Tuthmosis III in New Kingdom Egypt and Sargon of Akkad, and wealth motivated them both in similar ways. The Annals of Tuthmosis III explain that Tuthmosis directed that records of each campaign, together with the booty which his majesty had brought from it, and the tribute of every foreign land be inscribed in a temple to Amun. The public nature of this inscription shows that it was strategically beneficial to Tuthmosis for the public to see the fruits of his conquest; and the descriptions of his ornate chariot and armor show that people did not value the loot simply because it was practically beneficial to them (their king s ornate armor was not), but that they instead placed some other value on the opulence of their leader. ... The unleveraged Beta, used to obtain the leveraged Beta for the CAPM, was once again the weighed average of the unleveraged B s of the restaurant industry representatives given in the case. However, the restaurants given for the calculation were mostly fast food chains while Marriott operates rather middle level restaurants. Today s WA Bu of the middle class and upper class restaurants appeared to be slightly higher indicating that the overall cost of capital for Marriott s restaurant division should be slightly higher. Apart from these classic hallmarks, increasing evidence has demonstrated uncontrolled glial activation and neuroinflammation in AD brain may contribute independently to neural dysfunction and cell death (Akiyama et al., 2000; Wyss Coray and Mucke, 2002). Robust activation of microglia has been found in and around the area of amyloid plaques in the AD brain, and reactive astrocytes have been shown to form a halo surrounding the amyloid plaques (Itagaki et al., 1989; Ho et al., 2005). Additionally, numerous proinflammatory factors have been reported to be elevated in both patients with AD and transgenic animal models of AD (Griffin et al., 1989; Akiyama et al., 2000; Ruan et al., 2009). Whether alleviation of neuroinflammation will offer therapeutic benefit for AD remains unclear. • 25. The Lady Tasting Tea The Lady Tasting Tea The Book Memo The different tastes between pouring milk into tea or tea in milk raised R.A. Fisher s interest to design an experiment for testing the lady. Dr. David Salsburg used this famous anecdote as the book title, and elaborated the development of modern statistics by several stories. Each chapter contains one outstanding statistician and his/her contributions. Impressively, the whole book was linked by R.A. Fisher, K. Pearson, E. Pearson and J. Neyman, these exclusively distinguished statistician, which indicates their fame and masterpiece has great impact on not only statistics but also academia of science, even our daily life. Probability defined by Aristotle, improbable things will happen . Later on, the probability and its theory have been established by many mathematician s efforts. However, it is until 1820, the first probability distribution, error distribution, was described by Laplace, which is much closer to modern statistics. Karl Pearson described that any type of scientific scatter data might meet this distribution, and he named it as skew distribution . Further, he established the description with four parameters that are mean, standard deviation, symmetry and kurtosis . Pearson believed that if the sample size is large enough, the estimations of these four parameters would delineate their true values. In this case they are one culture who believe in their practices. Lastly, It is mere arrogance for us to try to judge the conduct of other peoples. We should adopt an attitude of tolerance toward the practices of other cultures , In other words we should be able to respect the moral views of other cultures. CS intervention offers a range of enjoyable activities to people with dementia which focus on general stimulation, concentration and memory usually runs in a social setting (Woods, Aguirre, Spector, Orrell, 2012). CS was developed based on Reality Orientation (RO). RO was developed in the late 1950s to help inpatient older people with confusion in improving their mental stimulation and QoL (Taulbee Folsom, 1966). RO adopts the techniques of presentation and repetition of orientation information, in order to provide the person with greater understanding of their surroundings. For example using various visual aids, a facilitator repeatedly presents basic orientation and environmental information include the person name, where they are, the times of the day and year or the weather. RO can operate as a continuous 24 hour classroom or in groups on a regular basis to provide orientation related activities to participants (Brook, Degun, Mather, 1975). The purpose of these orientation related activities is to establish a group environment (Citrin Dixon, 1977) and improve patient sense of control and self esteem (Spector, Orrell, Davies, Woods, 2001). In one of the earliest studies (Woods, 1979) found that classroom RO led to improvement in cognitive function. Later (Spector et al., 2001) conducted a pilot study to test the feasibility of RO and developed a program of CS therapy based on a systematic evaluation of the literature of RO which identified its key components ... An example will be used to show the reasons for converting the college database into these forms. Another example will include a time when denormalize of a table is acceptable in a database. The business rules of the college will impact the database normalization and a decision to denormalize the tables. When databases are created, data are stored in the fields of a database, some databases are simple and may contain one table. As the database grows there and get more complex, the tables will need to be normalized. According to Coronel, Morris, and Rob (2013), normalization is a process for evaluating and correcting table structures to minimize data redundancies, thereby reducing the likelihood of data anomalies, (p.181). In general, coprocessing is carried out for one plastic and one brittle deforming excipient in order to minimize the elastic energy stored during compression and to decrease capping or lamination of the tablet, in addition, this combination is reflected positively on the compressibility of the powder. Coprocessed excipient use in direct compression tablet manufacturing process combines the advantages of wet granulation with the fast processing of direct compression[6]. This demonstrates how effective the ACCC is in enforcing the ACL but penalties may not be harsher enough. For a large business, like Coles, $1.1 million is not that much of a penalty compared to the profits it makes.
