Aim to delegate tasks that:
• are routine
• are not critical
• are within the technical ability of others
• have clear parameters and guidelines
• provide development opportunities for others
• are not time critical

• You can delegate PART of a task
• If someone doesn’t have ALL the necessary
  skills but is willing, you can use this as an
  opportunity to develop them

1. If you are ‘doing’ you cannot be managing
2. Be honest with yourself – why are you afraid to
   delegate?
3. Make a choice about where you should
   be spending your time
4. Remember, delegating is a development
   opportunity
5. Think long-term: Sometimes you need to
   make short-term losses for long term gains
